The company operates in two segments, Automotive, and Energy Generation and Storage. The Automotive segment offers electric vehicles, as well as sells automotive regulatory credits; and non-warranty after-sales vehicle, used vehicles, body shop and parts, supercharging, retail merchandise, and vehicle insurance services. This segment also provides sedans and sport utility vehicles through direct and used vehicle sales, a network of Tesla Superchargers, and in-app upgrades; purchase financing and leasing services; services for electric vehicles through its company-owned service locations and Tesla mobile service technicians; and vehicle limited warranties and extended service plans. The Energy Generation and Storage segment engages in the design, manufacture, installation, sale, and leasing of solar energy generation and energy storage products, and related services to residential, commercial, and industrial customers and utilities through its website, stores, and galleries, as well as through a network of channel partners; and provision of service and repairs to its energy product customers, including under warranty, as well as various financing options to its solar customers. The company was formerly known as Tesla Motors, Inc. and changed its name to Tesla, Inc. in February 2017. Tesla, Inc. was incorporated in 2003 and is headquartered in Austin, Texas.

Some of these stocks get huge headlines daily
It's hard to call the world's largest company by market cap overlooked, so Nvidia is out for my list. Apple products are front of mind for many consumers, and it's a well-publicized company, so it's also eliminated. Furthermore, Apple's artificial intelligence (AI) strategy has been relatively weak, so I'd hesitate to call it an AI company. Alphabet has seen its shares rally massively over the past year thanks to its comeback in the generative AI world, and Gemini is among the top options available, so I wouldn't consider it overlooked, either.
Meta Platforms and Tesla are both trying to position themselves as AI-first companies, although their adoption of AI shows up in different ways. Tesla is integrating AI in its vehicles through autonomous driving and also has other exciting offerings in the works, like its Optimus robot. Meta is working on several AI products, as well as integrating the technology into its social media platforms. Both of these are well-known in the AI realm and don't qualify as "overlooked."
That leaves Microsoft and Amazon as the last two, and I think AI investors need to take another look at them.
Amazon and Microsoft are making money from AI right now
While Amazon and Microsoft are both integrating AI into their everyday inner workings, the real money maker is cloud computing. Amazon and Microsoft are in first and second place in terms of cloud computing market share, and each is seeing huge growth in this sector. During the fourth quarter, Microsoft Azure's revenue rose 39% year over year. Amazon Web Services (AWS) didn't have as fast a growth rate, rising 24%. However, that growth rate was its best quarter in over three years.
These businesses are cash cows, and with insatiable AI demand, both Microsoft and Amazon are understandably spending billions of dollars on data centers to meet that demand. Once the money has been spent to bring the new computing infrastructure online, each company will be able to generate high-margin revenue that boosts profitability. While each company has a different primary business they're known for, their cloud computing segments are a good enough reason to buy their stocks.
On another note, both stocks trade at a discount to recent levels.
Since 2024, these two have consistently traded with a forward price-to-earnings ratio -- based on estimates -- in the low-30s. Now, they trade at a decent discount to those levels. If you've been waiting to buy these two, there has seldom been a better opportunity over the past few years to scoop up these stocks.
Businesses haven't even scratched the surface of what's possible with AI. According to research done by The Motley Fool, less than 20% of businesses currently use AI. That number should skyrocket over the next few years and drive demand for cloud computing services from these two. Right now is a golden buying opportunity, and investors shouldn't squander it.

I bought Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) stock in June 2014 because I thought Elon Musk was going to save humanity.
Solar roofs on every house. Martian colonies by 2040. Cool electric cars making gas stations historical curiosities, like phone booths or Blockbuster Video. The stock barely kept up with the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) over the first five years, but I was convinced that things would change and give Tesla a real push.

I added more shares in 2019. Wrote glowing Fool articles about his genius. Defended him at dinner parties. The whole shebang.
The red flags I couldn't ignore anymore
But something changed. The Cybertruck idea sounded fantastic at first, with ultra-economic manufacturing principles and a unique design. Still, the early prototypes were tough to defend, and Musk's Twitter-centric marketing efforts started to look desperate.
So, I sold a few shares in 2021, making sure I had covered my original investment and then some, just in case the bad Cybertruck vibes turned out to be correct.
Then came the Twitter saga.
A supposed genius offered $44 billion for a company, immediately regretted it, tried to wriggle out, failed, and then lit the whole thing on fire. It was...clarifying.
Try to maintain "he's playing 4D chess" energy when Musk is posting meme-stock tweets at 3 a.m. while trying to buy the social media platform. Bet you can't.
I slammed the "sell" button hard in the summer of 2022, converting 88% of my remaining Tesla shares to cold, hard cash. Like the January 2021 sale, this batch yielded a 1,900% return.
Two weeks before the first Cybertruck deliveries, I'd had enough. The last handful of shares left my account at a 1,480% gain.
Tesla bulls might still be right about the future
The stock is higher now, about 2,780% above my starting price. Some of my Fool colleagues still recommend Tesla. They see robotaxis, humanoid robots, a pre-initial public offering (IPO) link to reusable spaceships, and a glorious artificial intelligence (AI)-powered future.
Maybe they're right. I've been wrong about Musk before, just in the opposite direction.
What I actually learned from Tesla
So, Tesla made me plenty of money, but I still wish I had left the stock alone in 2014.
Here's my costly lesson: I spent a decade thinking I'd found a forever stock. A company so transformative that I would hold it until I die and pass it to my kids. Instead, I'd bought a ticket to the Elon Musk Experience, and when I stopped enjoying the show, the investment stopped making sense.
You can't separate a founder-cult stock from the founder. I tried. It doesn't work. Every time Tesla announces something cool, I think about the CEO posting conspiracy theories. Every time the stock jumps, I remember that Full Self-Driving has been "coming next year" since the Obama administration.
The money was great. Truly, no complaints on that front. But I learned something more valuable: Don't hold stocks in companies you don't believe in anymore, no matter how green your brokerage screen looks. At some point, you're not an investor; you're just along for someone else's ride.
These days, I sleep better. My portfolio is less thrilling. And when Elon tweets something unhinged at midnight, I can just scroll past.
That's worth more than another 50% gain.

Buying Tesla Stock Taught Me a Costly Lesson

Peter Thiel made a similar decision in Q4 2019 with mixed results; he avoided losses but missed out on gains.
The S&P 500 is expensive, but most Wall Street analysts think Tesla, Microsoft, and Apple are undervalued.
Billionaire Peter Thiel was a co-founder of Palantir Technologies, and he still owns a substantial stake in the company (about 100 million shares). However, he also runs a hedge fund, called Thiel Macro, that recently sold every stock in its portfolio.
Specifically, SEC Forms 13F show Thiel Macro had $74 million split between Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA), Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT), and Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) in the third quarter of 2025, but the hedge fund sold all three positions in Q4 2025 and did not report any new trades.

I cannot speak to Thiel's motivation, but the decisions suggest he lost confidence in Tesla, Microsoft, and Apple and couldn't find other attractive opportunities across the stock market, possibly due to concerns about valuations. The S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) was very expensive by historical standards in the fourth quarter.
How seriously should investors take Thiel's $74 million warning? Consider this historical insight.
Thiel Macro issued a similar warning in late 2019
Peter Thiel made a similar move in Q4 2019. He sold every position in his portfolio and did not report any new trades for the next five years. The S&P 500 returned approximately 91% (or 13.8% annually) during that five-year period, but nearly two-thirds of Thiel's portfolio had been invested in put options (bets) against the S&P 500.
On one hand, Thiel avoided heavy losses by selling those put options. On the other hand, he missed out on substantial upside because he did not make any trades for the next five years. In particular, the S&P 500 has performed very well since the artificial intelligence (AI) boom began following the release of ChatGPT in Q4 2022.
The S&P 500 still trades at a historically expensive valuation
The S&P 500 had an average cyclically adjusted price-to-earnings (CAPE) ratio of 39.1 in Q4 2025 (when Thiel Macro sold every stock in its portfolio). That is a substantial premium to the 30-year average of 28.5. In fact, apart from the last few months, the S&P 500 has not recorded a CAPE multiple above 39 since the dot-com crash in 2000.
The S&P 500 has actually gotten a little more expensive in 2026. Its CAPE multiple was 39.2 in February, and the index has historically performed poorly from such high valuations. The chart below shows the S&P 500's best, worst, and average returns over different periods when its CAPE ratio has exceeded 39.

As shown above, if the S&P 500's forward returns match the historical average, the index will decline 4% by February 2027, it will tumble 20% by February 2028, and it will plummet 30% by February 2029. But the most alarming statistic is this: The S&P 500 has never produced a positive three-year return when its CAPE ratio exceeds 39.
Of course, past performance is not a guarantee of future results. The CAPE multiple is a backward-looking valuation metric, meaning it does not account for the possibility that S&P 500 earnings will grow more quickly in the future as companies adopt artificial intelligence.
That trend is already evident in the market. "AI adopters in the S&P 500 have posted margin expansion that outpaces both the index as a whole and the individual companies not using AI by 2 to 3 percentage points," according to JPMorgan strategist Kriti Gupta.
Wall Street says Tesla, Microsoft, and Apple are undervalued
In general, Wall Street does not share Peter Thiel's skepticism concerning Tesla, Microsoft, and Apple. While Thiel sold all three stocks in the fourth quarter, most analysts believe they are undervalued.
Among 56 analysts, Tesla has a median target price of $477.50 per share. That implies 22% upside from the current share price of $391.
Among 60 analysts, Microsoft has a median target price of $600 per share. That implies 51% upside from the current share price of $396.
Among 52 analysts, Apple has a median target price of $302.50 per share. That implies 21% upside from the current share price of $250.
Here's the big picture: Thiel Macro has a mixed track record. Thiel beat the S&P 500 over the past year and avoided losses by selling S&P 500 put options in Q4 2019, but he also missed out on gains by staying out of the market for five years. Also, while the S&P 500 is expensive today -- so much so that history says the index could fall sharply in the next few years -- Wall Street remains bullish on Tesla, Microsoft, and Apple.

Palantir Billionaire Peter Thiel Sells 3 AI Stocks in a $74 Million Warning to Wall Street. History Says This Will Happen Next.

These stocks have small market caps but huge growth potential.
It has been a rough couple of years for electric vehicle (EV) stocks not named Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA). But right now, investors can secure bargain valuations on two electric car makers with big plans over the next few years. One of these stocks is extremely speculative. But the other has an upcoming growth catalyst that appears incredibly undervalued right now.
1. Lucid Group is a lottery ticket with high upside
Lucid Group (NASDAQ: LCID) is one of my favorite companies to track. The company, at least on paper, has a lot to offer. I'm excited about its vision as primarily a supplier of technology to the transportation sector long term. Its former CEO revealed last year that he wanted the company to be just 20% auto manufacturer and 80% tech supplier.

This approach, I recently argued, should attract higher margins, greater customer retention rates, and lower capital needs. There's just one problem: I'm not sure Lucid will ever scale enough to properly make the transition.
The transportation space is quickly moving -- faster than ever before -- toward full self-driving capabilities thanks to rapid advances in artificial intelligence (AI). For training and validation purposes, these models require access to huge datasets. This is why Tesla's robotaxi dreams are so feasible. It has millions of vehicles driving on the roads right now, delivering massive amounts of real-world data on a daily basis.
Right now, Lucid doesn't have a vehicle on the market for less than $70,000. That's a big reason why the company shipped fewer than 17,000 units last year. The company wants to launch a mass market model priced under $50,000. But for now, details remain scarce. I'm unsure if Lucid, with limited capital, will be able to manage this feat over the next 12 months to 24 months. That leaves it with a sizable data disadvantage to Tesla, as well as to a more promising EV maker discussed below.
With a market cap of just $3.5 billion, Lucid shares have huge upside potential when compared to Tesla's valuation, which is now north of $1 trillion. But without a clear path toward scaling a mass market vehicle, an investment in the company should be strictly considered a lottery ticket only.
2. Rivian is my top growth stock for 2026
Looking for something less speculative? Rivian (NASDAQ: RIVN) arguably has all the potential upside of Lucid Group with an upcoming growth catalyst that should provide some real-world sales traction as soon as next month.
Rivian has two big advantages versus Lucid. First, its R2 model -- its first vehicle priced under $50,000 -- is expected to begin deliveries next month. Second, the company has already invested heavily into AI, with more meaningful investments on the way, such as its intention to produce its own AI chips. This emphasis on AI will complement the launch of its R2 SUV as the company will gain significantly more real-world data following the start of deliveries. In 2027 and 2028, the EV maker also aims to launch two additional affordable vehicles -- the R3 and R3X -- further aiding its access to real-world training data.
One of the most difficult things an EV start-up can do is launch a vehicle priced under $50,000 that is accessible by the masses. In 2017, Tesla began deliveries of its first mass market vehicle: the Model 3. From the start of 2017 through the end of 2020, shares soared by more than 1,400% largely due to the success of the Model 3.
Will Rivian have the same success? Due to a reduction in incentives, many major automakers in the U.S. have slashed investment in new EVs. Even Tesla is ending production of its luxury models: the Model S and Model X, hoping to focus more on AI and robotics.
While the regulatory environment isn't as kind to EV makers as years past, EVs still represent a much higher share of total auto sales in the U.S. than when Tesla began deliveries of its Model 3 sedan and later its Model Y crossover. With SUV sales soaring -- the category accounted for more than 50% of total auto sales last year -- Rivian could be in the right place at the right time. With a market cap of just $20 billion, Rivian investors could stand to make a fortune if its sales trajectory is anywhere close to what Tesla achieved with the Model 3.

It's no secret: I think Rivian's (NASDAQ: RIVN) upcoming R2 launch could be a game changer for the EV stock. The R2 will be Rivian's first vehicle priced under $50,000. Customer deliveries are expected to start this April.
Why is the R2 such a big deal for Rivian? For starters, a big majority of people are looking to spend less than $50,000 on their next vehicle purchase. Excluding the R2, Rivian only has two luxury models that, with options and fees, can easily cost consumers more than $100,000 out the door.

The R2 should give the company access to tens of millions of new potential buyers, thanks to the lower initial price. How will that translate to the stock's performance? A closer look at Tesla's (NASDAQ: TSLA) history with the Model Y and Model 3 -- its first two vehicles priced under $50,000 -- sheds light on just how lucrative Rivian stock might be at current prices.
Tesla proves how big the R2 could be for Rivian
Tesla wasn't always the $1.3 trillion juggernaut it is today. At the start of 2017, the company's market cap hovered around $35 billion, with shares priced under $16. From a valuation perspective, shares traded at just 5 times sales. This paltry valuation was the case even though the EV maker expected to start shipments of its Model 3 vehicle -- its first vehicle priced under $50,000 -- later that year.
Sales were limited that year due to production scaling issues. But in 2018, the company sold 140,317 units. In 2019, growth continued with sales of 161,100 units. Then came 2020, a banner year. That year, more than 200,000 Model 3s were delivered to customers.
How much did Tesla's stock price rise between the start of 2017 and the end of 2020? Roughly 1,440%! By the start of 2021, the company's market cap had exceeded $670 billion, with a price-to-sales ratio of 23.8 -- more than four times the valuation shares received before the Model 3 launch. The start of deliveries for the Model Y in 2020 continued the momentum, with the market now fully onboard with the potential of launching a mass market vehicle priced for big volumes.
Next month, Rivian could start its own growth journey, similar to what Tesla achieved with its Model 3 and Model Y launches. Yet shares are actually priced much cheaper than Tesla shares were before its Model 3 launch. Right now, Rivian's market cap is hovering around $20 billion. Its price-to-sales ratio, meanwhile, is just 3.7.
Like Tesla, Rivian plans to follow up its launch with additional sub-$50,000 models -- the R3 and R3X. Plus, the company arguably has more potential upside than Tesla did at the start of its journey due to heavy investment into AI and self-driving technologies.
It's important to stress that Tesla's stock price didn't take off immediately once the Model 3 hit the streets. It was primarily long term, extremely patient shareholders that accrued the biggest gains. But with Rivian shares trading at such a discounted valuation before the R2 launch, I'm willing to bet that the company will exceed expectations, likely leading to a sharply improved valuation down the line.

Is Rivian a Buy Ahead of Its R2 Electric Vehicle Launch? Hint: Absolutely, and Here's Why

Waiting around for an electric vehicle (EV) to charge can be irritating. But that irritation might have just been greatly reduced by Chinese EV and hybrid maker BYD (OTC: BYDDY). Earlier this month, it revealed its Blade Battery 2.0 and Flash Charging system. Used together, the company claims, they can bring a compatible vehicle from a 10% charge to 70% in roughly five minutes and from 20% to 97% in approximately 12.
This would suggest BYD has a game-changing EV product on its hands. Is it reasonable for Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) investors to be worried, and maybe even consider selling their stock?

BYD's charging aims to be quick as lightning
First, a note. Tesla and BYD are not direct competitors in the U.S., where the former is prominent and the latter is effectively unavailable. That's mainly because our government has slapped a 100% tariff on EVs built in the Asian country.
The two are actually collaborators in some respects. Like BYD, Tesla is working hard to develop its in-house battery unit, but its strategy differs substantially from its vertically integrated Chinese peer. The American auto maker manufactures some batteries in-house, supplementing them with products from outside manufacturers -- including BYD. All of BYD's cars, meanwhile, use BYD batteries.
Tesla's latest battery cell, the 4680, is extremely reliable and has a relatively long range when charged. Its charging time is slower than that of Blade Battery 2.0. However, in contrast to the 12 minutes it takes for BYD's power pack to charge from 10% to 97%, Tesla batteries need 20 to 25 minutes.
Will most EV owners prefer a battery that offers plenty of range, even if it means longer charging times? Or will they favor a lower-range product that charges more quickly and gets them on the road before they finish their takeout coffee?
It's got the power
I'd imagine the average consumer would go for No. 2. Americans, in particular, don't like to wait.
I think, then, Blade Battery 2.0 could be a meaningful threat to Tesla's battery-making efforts. But that's the catch; since Tesla is open to components from outside manufacturers, if a competing battery technology proves too competitively powerful, the company could try to adopt it (albeit at the expense of its vaunted Supercharger network). Tesla doesn't sell its batteries to others, so it doesn't have business to lose with such goods.
The threat might turn out to be more reputational. Assuming Blade Battery 2.0 does what BYD claims, the company's reputation as a cutting-edge EV maker will be enhanced. Already very competitive on price in the markets where it and Tesla square off, this could drain business from the U.S. company and boost BYD's share.
One item to note here: Infrastructure is currently a roadblock for Blade Battery 2.0 internationally. In China, BYD is building out a network of 1,500-kilowatt charging hubs needed for the product's fast charging. However, there are precious few in other markets, and such a build-out would cost time and capital.
So, if I were a Tesla investor, I wouldn't worry about BYD's battery putting a heavy zap on the company's business, at least not for some time. I'd be more concerned about Tesla's other headwinds; its clumsy pivot to more modestly priced models, for one, and the endless distractions of CEO Elon Musk at a time when managerial focus seems essential.

Which is worth more: a $100 bill or 400 quarters? Well, from a purely monetary perspective, there is none -- they have the same intrinsic value. Yet, their practical values are not equal. After all, paying a sizable bill with small change is hardly the way to win friends at the local pub. Similarly, a $100 bill won't do you much good at a vending machine that only accepts $1, $5, or $10 bills.

When a company splits its stock, the company's overall value doesn't change -- it's just divided differently. Even though stock splits don't change a company's underlying fundamentals, they can shift retail investors' perceptions of a stock, often making it more appealing.
With that in mind, let's review how five high-profile stocks have performed since their historic stock splits.
1. Tesla
First up is Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA). Tesla performed a 3-for-1 stock split on Aug. 25, 2022.
Tesla stock traded slightly under $300 per share in the wake of the split. They now trade at about $400 per share. Consequently, the stock is up approximately 37%, equating to a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.3% since the split. That's slightly below the S&P 500, which has generated a CAGR of 16.5% over the same period.
Looking ahead, with its stock trading at $400 per share, some investors are wondering whether another stock split is on the horizon for the company.
2. Alphabet
Next, there's Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG, GOOGL). Alphabet, the parent company of Google, last performed a stock split on July 15, 2022. Alphabet shares split 20-for-1, reducing the per-share price from more than $2,250 to around $113.
In the intervening years, Alphabet stock has vastly outperformed the benchmark S&P 500, delivering a staggering total return of 167% versus 84% for the index. Its CAGR of 30.1% is nearly double the S&P 500's 18.2%.
Of all the stocks on this list, Alphabet has performed the best since its split. Will it continue to roll on, or will the company's massive artificial intelligence (AI) investments weigh on the stock going forward?
3. Netflix
On the other side of the ledger, there's Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX). The streaming giant is the most recent company on this list to deliver a stock split. The company performed a 10-for-1 split on Nov. 17, 2025, just about five months ago. The price of a single Netflix share fell from over $1,000 to about $110.
However, since the split, the company and its stock have faced turmoil. Netflix entered an expensive bidding war with rival Paramount Skydance for Warner Bros. Discovery. Paramount ended up winning the fight, but both companies -- and their stocks -- came away with some bruises.
Shares of Netflix are down 10% since its stock split. Yet, the stock is up about 20% since it lost its fight with Paramount -- indicating how much the market disliked the Warner Bros. deal in the first place.
At any rate, some investors are asking whether Netflix can continue to grow revenue through price increases, or whether consumers will balk at increased monthly costs.
4. Amazon
Next, we turn to Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN). On June 6, 2022, the company carried out its first split in more than 20 years. Amazon performed a 20-for-1 split, reducing the price of a single share from about $2,500 to $125.
Since then, Amazon stock has moved largely in tandem with the S&P 500. Shares have advanced by 71%, which closely mirrors the S&P 500's 73% rally over the same period.
Looking ahead, Amazon is working on innovative projects, including bipedal robots and Amazon Leo -- the company's satellite internet service meant to rival SpaceX's Starlink.
5. Nvidia
Finally, we come to Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA). The world's largest company by market cap split its stock on June 10, 2024, executing a 10-for-1 stock split. The price of a single share dropped from about $1,200 to $120.
Overall, Nvidia stock has outperformed the broader market, as measured by the S&P 500, since its split. Shares are up about 46%, as compared to 29% for the benchmark index.

Artificial intelligence (AI) tech leader Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) is set to host its flagship GTC 2026 (GTC stands for GPU Technology Conference) next week. It will run Monday, March 16, through Thursday, March 19, at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, California. This annual Silicon Valley happening is the world's leading AI event.
The company is expecting 39,000 attendees from 190 countries. There will be over 700 workshops, covering "everything from physical AI [driverless vehicles and robotics], and AI factories to agentic AI and inference," nearly 400 exhibitors, and over 70 hands-on training labs, according to Nvidia.

Don't miss CEO Jensen Huang's GTC 2026 keynote -- it will be livestreamed for free
CEO Jensen Huang will deliver the keynote address at the SAP Center in San Jose on Monday, March 16, at 11 a.m. PT. It's scheduled for two hours.
This event will be livestreamed, and afterward, a recording will be available on Nvidia's investor relations website. I highly recommend investors and potential investors in Nvidia stock watch this event. I can almost guarantee you will learn things that other individual investors don't know, giving you a competitive advantage.
Huang's keynote will reportedly cover the full AI stack -- chips, software, models, and applications. On that note, what I don't think some folks realize is that Nvidia is so much more than "just" an AI chip company these days; it's an AI infrastructure company with full-stack offerings. This gives it a competitive advantage over more typical chip companies.
Huang will take the stage again on Wednesday, March 18, at 12:30 p.m. PT to moderate a panel on open-source vs. closed-source AI models. Leaders from several developers of AI models will join him, including Cursor, a closed-source AI model developer, and Thinking Machines Lab, which is developing open-source, customizable models.
Nvidia is invested in both of these private companies. In November, it joined Cursor's $2.3 billion Series D funding round. Just this past week, it announced a strategic partnership and "significant investment" in Thinking Machines Lab. The company is led by Mira Murati, the former chief technical officer (CTO) at OpenAI, best known for its ChatGPT chatbot.

3 Out of the Last 4 GTCs Have Given Nvidia Stock a Solid Boost
Nvidia stock did not get a boost from last year's event, but that was due to the poor overall market. Stocks had a horrible March 2025 due to President Trump's announcement of planned significant global tariffs.
In 2024, however, Nvidia stock got a significant lift from GTC 2024. It increased 7.4% for the week, versus 2.4% for the S&P 500 index.
Moreover, Nvidia stock also got a nice boost from GTC 2023. It gained 5.7% from Monday, March 20, to Thursday, March 23. The S&P 500 dropped 0.8% over this period.
In addition, GTC 2022 also provided a solid tailwind for Nvidia stock. It gained 6.4% from Monday, March 21, through Thursday, March 24. The S&P 500 rose 1.3% over this period.
Let's hope for another boost from this year's GTC, though that might be tougher than usual given the broader market's struggles due to the Iran war and soaring oil prices.

Nvidia's Top AI Event Is Here: Will Nvidia Stock Rise During the Week of March 16?

When it rains, it pours, and Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) investors got soaked throughout all of last year. Tesla drove over numerous speed bumps that include declining vehicle sales, underutilized production capacity, reputational challenges surrounding CEO Elon Musk, an aging product lineup, price war pressures especially in China, and a cooling U.S. electric vehicle market, among others.
At first glance, Tesla's rebounding registrations in Europe appear like great news, but let's dig a little deeper, because it may not be all it's cracked up to be.

What's going on?
Here's the good news: Tesla just posted its first meaningful year-over-year growth in Europe in over a year. Tesla registered 17,425 vehicles across 15 major European markets last month, a 10% increase compared to February 2025.
Here's the not-so-good news: Tesla's result in February 2025 was a fairly large disaster and a weak comparison. Investors probably hoped for a bit larger of a rebound this February, but it didn't fully materialize.
Dialing back to February 2025 for context, Tesla started the year off down significantly in registrations, partly due to the Model Y refresh limiting supply. Though Tesla quickly accelerated production to desired levels, it still couldn't catch 2024 full-year results because the Model Y refresh didn't drive significant new demand or order backlogs.
Tesla's particularly poor results in February 2025 didn't stop there, either, with Tesla's first-quarter 2025 European registrations crashing 37% compared to the prior year. Though it was a rough start, the automaker did manage to recover somewhat throughout the year, with 2025 registrations in Europe (excluding Poland) dropping a lesser 28% compared to 2024.
This is all important to note because Tesla's year-to-date registrations in Europe through February, are down 23 vehicles exactly -- from a brutal 2025 comparison that many media outlets considered a disaster.
What it all means
There are a couple of major points for investors to remember right now. Generally, Tesla's registrations are heavier toward the end of each quarter as larger shipments arrive from Tesla's Shanghai and Berlin Gigafactories, accelerating deliveries. In fact, during March 2025, Tesla registrations hit 28,478 in Europe, which was more than January and February combined.
Also worth noting, in fairness, is that Tesla's global rival, China's EV juggernaut BYD, opened 2026 in Europe with 18,242 in January alone, good enough for a 165% gain over the prior year. Chinese competition will only continue to intensify in the months and years ahead, as Tesla's grip on the market fades and its product ages.
In summary, that's all just context to better understand Tesla's 10% gain in Europe registrations last month. It is still a positive, and it is far better than continuing the previous 13 consecutive months of year-over-year declines that came before them. However, investors should make a mental note that this is far from a strong or secure rebound, and it may not get much better.

Finally, a Little Good News for Tesla Investors -- or Is It?

Tesla's stock dip is linked to delays in robotaxi and full self-driving (FSD) progress.

Current risks may outweigh immediate buying opportunities, but catalysts could emerge soon.
Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) stock is trading at just shy of $400 at the time of writing, representing a high single-digit decline year to date. The fall in the stock is understandable, given the lack of recent newsflow on its robotaxi rollout or even on its efforts to get full self-driving (FSD) software approved for public use in Europe in 2026. That said, is the dip a buying opportunity or the start of a more extended decline?
What moves Tesla stock?
It's natural for investors to focus on the company's electric vehicle sales, and they are obviously a key reason to buy the stock. But the reality is that no one is buying the stock trading at 248 times its free cash flow (FCF) for what it is now, rather than what it could become in the future. That near-term future is robotaxis and later, Optimus robots.

Robotaxis are not a secondary aspect of Tesla's business or a response to recent declines in automotive revenue and deliveries. Instead, they reflect Elon Musk's vision for the future of autonomous transportation. Musk believes that fewer than 5% of miles driven will be non-autonomous, with robotaxis and FSD as key drivers of transportation-as-a-service (TaaS) in that future.
The latest news, or lack of it, in 2026
As such, all eyes are on Tesla's robotaxi rollout and its FSD development. Unfortunately, the company looks like it's behind schedule on both this year. Starting with FSD, back in November, Tesla said it expected FSD to be approved in the Netherlands in February. That would open the door to EU-wide approval, or failing that, approvals on a country-by-country basis. However, Musk has recently pushed the expected date back to March 20.
As for the robotaxi rollout, back in July, Musk told investors, "I think we'll probably have autonomous ride handling and probably half of the population of the U.S. by the end of the year." Fast forward to October, and Musk told investors, "We are expecting to have no safety drivers in at least large parts of Austin by the end of this year," and he expected robotaxis would be in operation in Nevada, Florida, and Arizona by the end of 2026.
It's mid-March, and while Tesla is now operating robotaxis without safety monitors or cars following in Austin, Texas, there are as yet no other similar activities elsewhere.
Why the slow rollout is a concern
The slow rollout shouldn't be overly concerning in itself; after all, it's more important to ensure there aren't any serious accidents. In that regard, Tesla's safety record is actually pretty good.
That said, the larger concern might be that Tesla is aggressively investing in ramping up production of its dedicated robotaxi, the Cybercab. However, a failure to secure regulatory approval for robotaxis using Model Ys, let alone Cybercabs, threatens to tie up inventory and cash unnecessarily while the company waits for positive developments.
Is Tesla stock a buy?
Given the slow robotaxi rollout, the dip isn't really a unmissable opportunity to buy the stock. The risk of prematurely ramping Cybercab production is rising. That said, timely approval of FSD in the Netherlands and robotaxi expansions in Texas and Arizona could turn the stock's narrative more positive in the near future. It's something to look out for.
