Immediately after Cerebras's initial public offering (IPO), there weren't many analysts expressing opinions on the stock's prospects. But that changed this week.
On Monday, several analysts initiated coverage with bullish outlooks.
Barclays analyst Tom O'Malley assigned an overweight rating and $280 price target.
Mizuho assigned an outperform rating and $300 price target.
UBS assigned a buy rating and $300 price target.
TD Cowen analyst Joshua Buchalter assigned a buy rating and $275 price target.
Morgan Stanley analyst Joseph Moore assigned an overweight rating and $250 price target.
Analysts identified several factors that supported their optimistic takes on Cerebras stock. According to Thefly.com, Joseph Moore, for example, recognized that Cerebras' contracts suggest the company could generate $6 billion in revenue in 2028, with the potential to grow even more. For context, Cerebras reported sales of $510 million in 2025.
On the other hand, a Craig-Hallum analyst, who rated Cerebras as a buy and set a $325 price target, recognized "a need for speed in AI inferencing," adding that both OpenAI and Amazon's AWS both embraced Cerebras "because they [Cerebras] are the fastest in the world."

Well before market open on Tuesday, a global bank reiterated its bullish view on retailer TJX Companies (NYSE: TJX). Clearly taken by this assessment, investors pushed into the T.J. Maxx and Marshalls owner's equity, boosting it more than 3% higher across that day's trading session.
It remains a clear buy, says pundit
The analyst behind the update was UBS prognosticator Jay Sole, who maintained his buy recommendation and $197 per share price target on TJX. That's more than 19% above the stock's latest closing price.

According to reports, Sole cited findings in the latest version of his bank's annual U.S. Off-Price and Department Store Retailers Consumer Survey as a core reason for his continued bullishness. He wrote that the survey indicated that 71% of polled consumers believe the company's flagship T.J. Maxx stores offer good value for money. That figure is well higher than the roughly 47% for Macy's and other prominent department stores.
The analyst also pointed to data indicating that customers frequenting T.J. Maxx anticipate a 14% net increase in shopping frequency over the next year. That compared very favorably to the -1% average of the overall survey. In Sole's view, traffic is the main driver of a discount retailer's comparable sales growth, a crucial metric in the retail industry.
The right retailer at the right time
TJX has posted some impressive results lately. Its "comps" rose by 6% year over year in its first quarter of fiscal 2027, and net sales advanced by a meaty 9% to more than $14 billion. Better, adjusted earnings per share soared by 29% to nearly $1.19, crushing the consensus analyst estimate. With these considerable tailwinds at its back, the company raised its comparable sales and EPS guidance for the full fiscal year.
The current economic uncertainty in the U.S. is generally favoring discount retailers, and TJX is proving very adept at navigating this moment. I'm becoming increasingly bullish on this company, and investors should too.

Why TJX Companies Stock Climbed While the Market Sputtered Today

Franklin Resources, Inc.'s BEN subsidiary, Western Asset Management Company ("Western Asset"), has agreed to pay a $100 million civil penalty to settle Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") charges related to its former co-chief investment officer Kenneth Leech's alleged cherry-picking scheme.
The SEC said Western Asset failed to properly supervise Leech and maintain adequate controls to detect his alleged trade-allocation misconduct. To resolve the matter, the firm agreed to pay a $100 million civil penalty, which will be distributed to affected investors through a Fair Fund, while neither admitting nor denying the regulator's findings.
In a regulatory filing, Franklin stated that Western Asset agreed to the settlement as a business decision to avoid prolonged litigation and focus on serving clients. The company also noted that the resolution concludes investigations by the SEC and the Department of Justice ("DOJ").
History of Western Asset's Trade-Allocation Investigation
The matter stems from allegations that Leech engaged in a cherry-picking scheme involving U.S. Treasury derivative trades between January 2021 and October 2023. According to the SEC, Leech delayed allocating trades among client accounts until after observing market movements, allowing profitable trades to be allocated to certain favored portfolios, while less favorable trades were assigned to others.
In November 2024, the SEC charged Leech with fraud, alleging that he allocated hundreds of millions of dollars of net first-day gains to favored portfolios and a similar amount of net first-day losses to disfavored portfolios.
As part of its broader investigation, the SEC also examined Western Asset's supervisory controls. The regulator concluded that the firm knew or should have known that Leech's trading and allocation practices differed from those of other portfolio managers and failed to adequately oversee his activities. The SEC further found that Western Asset did not properly implement its trade-reallocation policies and failed to reasonably supervise its former co-CIO.
In December 2025, Franklin disclosed that the DOJ was prepared to resolve its investigation against Western Asset. The development signaled progress toward resolving the regulatory probes surrounding the firm.
How the Settlement Benefits Franklin
The settlement removes a major regulatory overhang tied to one of Western Asset's most significant legal matters in recent years. While the $100 million penalty represents a notable cost, the resolution concludes investigations by the SEC and DOJ and eliminates the uncertainty associated with prolonged regulatory proceedings.
With the matter largely behind it, Franklin can focus on strengthening Western Asset's compliance framework, retaining client assets and rebuilding investor confidence following a period of heightened scrutiny over the firm's trading practices.

In May 2026, the Federal Reserve officially terminated its 2023 enforcement actions against UBS Group AG UBS tied to the collapse of Archegos Capital Management in 2021. The move marks the closure of one of the major enforcement matters inherited by UBS following its emergency acquisition of Credit Suisse in 2023.
The termination of the Fed’s Archegos-related enforcement action represents another milestone in UBS’ broader remediation efforts. The removal of this regulatory overhang could support UBS’ long-term integration efforts, profitability and operational efficiency.
In April 2026, Goldman Sachs Group GS cleared a key regulatory overhang as the Federal Reserve Board terminated its 2018 enforcement action tied to the bank’s foreign exchange (FX) trading operations. The case originated in May 2018, when the Fed imposed a $54.75-million fine on Goldman Sachs for unsafe and unsound practices in its forex business.
For GS, the development marks the resolution of a legacy issue tied to industry-wide FX scrutiny. While the case underscored past control deficiencies, its closure highlights the bank’s progress in strengthening compliance and restoring regulatory confidence, allowing it to move forward without the burden of an outstanding enforcement action.

Franklin's Western Asset to Settle SEC Trading Probe for $100M

May was another strong month for the semiconductor sector as chip stocks continued to rally on impressive earnings reports, excitement over the SpaceX IPO, and continued signs of shortages in components like memory chips.
Additionally, CPU stocks soared as it became clear that the shift to inference would drive surging demand for CPUs, leading to another bottleneck in semiconductors.

The gains across the industry were strong enough that it sent the iShares Semiconductor ETF (NASDAQ: SOXX) up 23% for the month. As you can see from the chart below, the gains came in two stages.
Why the SOXX soared
The top holdings on the SOXX have changed quickly as the momentum in the chip sector has shifted from Nvidia to newer bottlenecks in memory and CPUs.
As of June 3, the top holdings on the ETF were Micron, followed by Advanced Micro Devices and Marvell, which jumped early in June after Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang called in the next trillion-dollar chip stock.
Micron stock nearly doubled last year, driven by ongoing reports of a shortage in memory, which some expect to last through at least 2029. At an investor conference in May, management said that its financial outlook had improved since its last earnings report, a sign that it will likely beat estimates when it reports earnings later this month. A price target hike to $1,650 from UBS also sent Micron surging, as it showed the growth potential in memory.
AMD was another big winner last month, gaining 45% after it popped early in the month on a strong earnings report, and then followed the broader gains in chip stocks in the second half of the month. AMD's revenue in the first quarter rose 38% to $10.3 billion, and adjusted net income was up 45% to $2.27 billion. Both numbers beat expectations, and its guidance topped estimates as well.
What's next for semiconductor stocks
Chip stocks have gone parabolic since the start of April, as the chart below shows, and that could put pressure on future gains.
On Thursday, the SOXX fell 6% as Broadcom's earnings report sent chip stocks sliding. While the industry leader beat estimates, investors sold the stock off as management acknowledged that Google would diversify away from its custom chips, and its AI chip sales for the third quarter were projected to be $16 billion, below expectations at $17.2 billion.
Still, if competition and diversification are to blame for that, it shouldn't be a problem for the broader chip sector. If the overall narrative in the semiconductor sector remains positive, then the SOXX should keep moving higher.

Shares of ASML (NASDAQ: ASML) were on the move last month as the maker of extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUV) equipment rode a bullish wave in the semiconductor industry, as most sector stocks posted double-digit gains.
There wasn't much news out on the Dutch semicap company, but it signed a new customer, and the tailwinds in the sector helped propel it up 13%, according to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence.

As the chart below shows, the stock was volatile last week, but managed to finish with solid gains by the end of the month.
What happened with ASML last month
The biggest news out on ASML was that Tata Electronics, the Indian manufacturing giant signed a memorandum of understanding to advance the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem in India.
As part of the deal, ASML will enable the ramp of a new semiconductor fab in India, the first of its kind, and the partnership gives ASML a valuable foothold in a key market.
Meanwhile, ASML benefited from the shortages in the semiconductor industry, and anecdotal reports that companies are looking to Intel and Samsung for manufacturing capacity as TSMC appears to be sold out. That chain reaction could drive more demand for ASML's machines.
Finally, the company benefited from some positive analyst commentary. UBS, for example, raised its price target from 1,600 euros to 1,900 euros and recognized its unique position.
Can ASML keep climbing?
As a semiconductor capital equipment (semficap) stock, ASML operates in a different cycle from chipmakers, which are booming right now.
ASML's growth is more modest than its chip stock peers, and the company depends on China for a substantial portion of its revenue.
The stock has risen in recent months largely because of bets that the AI boom will lead to increased revenue for ASML. The company set a target of 44 billion euros to 60 billion euros in revenue by 2030. ASML hasn't updated that guidance, which it originally gave in 2024, but investors seem to think it will go higher. For 2026, the company expects revenue of 36 billion euros to $40 billion, meaning that ASML will almost certainly hike the bottom end of its forecast, assuming the AI boom continues.
Regardless of its financial results, ASML retains a monopoly on EUV machines, and that should continue to make the stock a winner. While the company will eventually need its revenue growth to accelerate to justify the current valuation, ASML looks like a must-own stock for the AI boom.

Chainlink's oracle network is supported by independent node operators, who are paid LINK tokens to aggregate that information. They can stake (lock up) those tokens on the network as collateral to earn interest-like rewards.
Chainlink is a trust-based system: if the operators feed false data into the network, their LINK tokens can be confiscated, and their reputation scores for attracting new requests can be reduced. But as Chainlink expands and attracts more blockchains, LINK's value will rise. That sets it apart from other cryptocurrencies that are solely valued by their scarcity or utility. Let's review one reason to buy LINK -- and one reason to wait -- to see if it's a worthwhile investment right now.
The one reason to LINK
The main reason to buy LINK is Chainlink's potential expansion into the backbone of most blockchain-based transactions that require real-time external data.
Chainlink is the largest oracle network by a wide margin, and it's secured partnerships with major financial institutions such as UBS, JPMorgan, and Euroclear to accelerate transactions and tokenize real-world assets (RWAs).
It's also working with older platforms, such as SWIFT (for interbank transfers) and the DTCC (for U.S. stock trades), to streamline settlements. In other words, it's becoming a "picks and shovels" play on the long-term growth of developer-powered blockchains and decentralized apps.
The one reason to avoid LINK
However, LINK could still fail even if Chainlink's network expands. Chainlink's big financial partners might think LINK is too volatile, and prefer to negotiate private agreements in which its node operators are paid in stablecoins or fiat currencies instead. That's the same predicament XRP (CRYPTO: XRP) -- which is primarily used as a bridge currency on Ripple's payment platform -- faces as more stablecoins are used for the same transactions.
Therefore, LINK's volatility -- reflected in its broad 52-week trading range of $7.21 to $27.83 per token -- could actually throttle Chainlink's expansion. If Chainlink's node operators switch over to stablecoins to gain more requests, LINK could become less important or even obsolete.

1 Reason to Buy Chainlink (LINK) Right Now -- and 1 Reason to Wait

UBS Group AG UBS has eliminated several hundred jobs across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), according to a Bloomberg article, which was published in Yahoo Finance. The latest workforce reductions come as the Swiss banking giant continues to streamline operations following its state-backed acquisition of Credit Suisse (“CS”) in 2023.
The job cuts mainly affected employees in support functions, while certain client-facing banking roles were also reduced as part of the latest restructuring efforts. To reduce the impact of redundancies, UBS has offered alternative roles to some affected employees within the organization.
Notably, UBS aims to keep job reductions related to the Credit Suisse integration “as low as possible” globally and in Switzerland. The bank is also focusing on bringing certain outsourced roles in-house as part of its broader operational restructuring strategy.
Since the CS acquisition significantly expanded UBS’ workforce and global footprint, the bank has remained focused on streamlining operations, eliminating overlapping roles and improving efficiency across businesses. According to a Business Today news article published on MSN News in December 2025, UBS was preparing to reduce up to 10,000 jobs globally by 2027 as part of its broader integration and restructuring initiatives.
Further, in February 2026, the company announced plans to reduce around 3,000 jobs in Switzerland, with most of the reductions expected to occur in the second half of 2026. These workforce adjustments are likely to be achieved mainly through natural attrition, early retirement, internal mobility and the internalization of external roles. In the first quarter of 2026, the bank reduced headcount by 2,775 sequentially and by 9,263 roles year over year, reflecting continued progress in eliminating overlapping positions following the merger.
UBS Advances Workforce Optimization as Integration Nears End
Following the acquisition of Credit Suisse, UBS has continued integrating operations and client accounts globally. As part of the integration efforts, the company merged 95 branches in Switzerland and migrated more than 90% of Credit Suisse Wealth Management accounts across key international markets by 2024.
By the first quarter of 2026, UBS completed the migration of all Swiss-booked clients, finalizing the transition of approximately 1.2 million former CS clients globally. With this milestone, the bank has entered the final phase of the Credit Suisse integration plan, including the decommissioning of legacy IT infrastructure, which is expected to continue through the remainder of 2026.
The latest workforce reductions reflect UBS’ strategic pivot from integration to optimization rather than any deterioration in its underlying business. As parallel systems are consolidated and operational complexity is reduced, the bank requires fewer resources to run its infrastructure. This streamlining is designed to improve execution speed, strengthen internal controls and free up capital and talent for higher-return areas.
By aligning its workforce with a leaner operating model, UBS is working toward its revised target of up to $13.5 billion in cumulative cost savings by the end of 2026.
Job Reduction Moves by Other Financial Firms
Similar to UBS, several major financial institutions, including Morgan Stanley MS and Citigroup Inc. C, are pursuing workforce restructuring initiatives as part of broader efficiency and operational optimization efforts.
In March 2026, Morgan Stanley reduced nearly 3% of its global workforce, impacting around 2,500 employees across investment banking, wealth management and investment management divisions. The layoffs at Morgan Stanley were primarily tied to strategic restructuring, performance reviews and resource reallocation toward higher-growth business areas.
Meanwhile, Citigroup is continuing with its multi-year restructuring initiative aimed at simplifying its organizational structure and improving operational efficiency. According to a Bloomberg article published on MSN News in January 2026, the company planned to cut around 1,000 jobs as part of a broader program targeting nearly 20,000 workforce reductions globally by 2026. Citigroup has also been accelerating AI adoption and streamlining international operations to focus on higher-return core businesses and improve long-term profitability.

UBS Group Slashes Hundreds of Jobs in EMEA Amid CS Integration Drive

Memory chip stocks have been on fire, and Micron's two Korean peers, Samsung and SK Hynix, also recently topped the trillion-dollar mark, though they didn't make those gains as fast as Micron did.
The Idaho-based maker of DRAM, HBM, and NAND was catapulted over the threshold by a note from UBS that lifted its price target on the stock to $1,650, calling for more than double at the time.
UBS said long-term memory supply agreements could support increased pricing and demand visibility across the industry, supporting a surge in earnings and free cash flow through 2029.
Micron just announced its fiscal third-quarter earnings date for June 24. Is the chip stock a buy before then? Let's take a look at the latest signs.
Management just gave a bullish signal
The bottleneck has already delivered a surge in revenue and profits for Micron. In its most recent quarter, revenue nearly tripled to $23.8 billion, and net income jumped by nearly 10x to $13.8 billion as the company recorded a 67.6% operating margin in the quarter.
Now, management sees those tailwinds picking up. At a JPMorgan Chase investor conference, executive vice president of global operations, Manish Bhatia, said that the company's financial outlook had strengthened since its last earnings report.
Bhatia argued that the gap between supply and demand was structural, rather than cyclical, and predicted that tightness in the memory market, across DRAM, HBM, and NAND, would remain well beyond calendar 2026. He also said that some key customers are only able to fill around 60% of their memory needs, showing how constrained supply is.
In March, Micron had guided to revenue of $32.75 billion-$34.25 billion in the third quarter and adjusted earnings per share of $18.75-$19.55. Bhatia's comments make it seem like Micron will beat those targets. Wall Street's estimates are still in line with that forecast, calling for $33.7 billion in revenue, or an increase of 262%, and adjusted earnings per share of $19.21, up from $1.91 in the quarter a year ago.
Nvidia just added to the tailwind
In an interview shortly after Nvidia's recent earnings report, CFO Collette Kress said the chip leader saw before others that memory prices would spike, and that it "ordered a long time ago." On core memory products, she added, "We're actually working with them on what to build."
That's another positive sign for Micron, and it shows that there is existing demand for current products as well as future ones, which could drive its growth beyond the usual constraint of the memory cycle.
One thing to keep in mind
Micron and the broader memory sector are notoriously cyclical as prices for memory chips tend to swing up and down as inventory levels fluctuate.
The AI boom has created a supercycle, and growth could last for years, but that doesn't mean there won't be a downside in the future. Given Micron's parabolic run-up, the chances of a significant sell-off at some point are high.
However, the memory boom could last for several more years, meaning the stock could still move much higher, especially as it trades at a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 16 and earnings are expected to surge in fiscal 2027 as well.
With momentum still building, Micron looks poised to move higher. Buying the stock before the June 24 earnings report looks like a smart move.

The memory chip stock jumped 19.3% on Tuesday after UBS lifted its price target to $1,650 on the stock, more than double from where it was trading before the hike. Micron has now topped $1 trillion in market value, putting it in an elite stock club along with the "Magnificent Seven" and chip stock peers like Broadcom and Taiwan Semiconductor.

The stock added to those gains on Wednesday, topping $900 per share, and nearly eclipsed $1,000 for the first time in pre-market trading, making its individual shares among the highest-priced on the market.
At this point, with the stock continuing to soar, investors are likely wondering if a stock split is in its future. It's a good question. Let's take a look at what the prospects are for a Micron stock split.
Micron's stock split history
Micron hasn't split its stock since the dot-com era. The company has issued three stock splits in its history as follows.

If you had one share before 1994, then you would have 10 shares after the splits.
The pause in stock splits following the dot-com bubble bursting with other tech stocks as splits were common during the dot-com era, though the collapse seemed to chasten companies away from it.
However, as Micron approaches $1,000 a share, the case for a stock split is getting stronger, as its share price has never been higher before.
Why a Micron stock split makes sense
Stock splits don't change the fundamentals of a stock. It's just splitting the pie into more pieces, but they can affect the stock in other ways, and investors generally respond favorably to them.
First, they act as a sign that management expects the stock to go higher. After all, companies control the timing of stock splits, and it only makes sense to do them if management expects the stock to go higher.
Micron has a lot of bullish momentum at the moment. In fact, the stock jumped nearly 20% just on a price target hike to $1,650, implying that when it was issued, the stock could double. Micron said its results are expected to continue to soar with revenue jumping 194% this fiscal year to $110 billion and climbing another 58% in fiscal 2027, according to the analyst consensus.
In recent quarters, the company has trounced estimates, and management hinted that would continue when it reports earnings in June, as it recently said that its financial performance has improved since its previousearnings calland that demand continues to outstrip supply.
A stock split from the company would likely send the stock soaring, and with the share price already above $900, doing a 5-for-1 or even a 10-for-1 split would be reasonable. Doing so would make the stock more accessible to retail investors and send a signal of confidence from management.
Will it happen?
Stock splits are difficult to predict as the decision to do so is completely in the hands of management. Memory chip stocks are notoriously cyclical, which may be one reason why the company would hold off on a split. If supply/demand dynamics change, the stock could crash as profits would likely come down sharply. However, there's no sign of that happening, and CEO Sanjay Mehrotra said the company is only able to meet about 60% of demand.
There's no reason for Micron management to rush into the decision, but if the stock continues to move higher, calls for a split will grow louder.

Micron Is Nearing $1,000. Is a Stock Split Next?

Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU) reached a market cap of $1 trillion on Tuesday, after receiving a huge upgrade from an analyst. With a new price target of $1,625 from UBS analyst Timothy Arcuri, investors saw more reason to be bullish on this already scorching-hot stock. Entering trading on Wednesday, the stock has soared by around 880% over the past 12 months. That means a $10,000 investment in the company a year ago would now be worth nearly $100,000.
It's a staggering return. But with an even higher price target, investors may be convinced that it has even more upside still left. Could Micron really still be a bargain buy at its current price?

Most analysts aren't nearly as bullish
Analyst price targets can vary significantly for a stock. And while analysts have largely been raising their price targets for Micron in recent months, the consensus average is around just $570 right now -- suggesting the stock may have a downside risk of approximately 38%.
Arcuri's justification for the increase in price is due to Micron's modest price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio. Based on its expected future profits, Micron looks cheap, trading at a multiple of only nine. By comparison, the S&P 500 average is 26, and tech giant Nvidia is not far behind with a forward P/E of nearly 25. The logic is that for Micron, its business should be valued higher with respect to earnings.
However, there arguably needs to be some compensation for risk. Nvidia's business is larger, more robust, and potentially much less volatile than Micron's. While demand for Micron's memory products is through the roof right now, that may not hold over the long run, and historically, it has experienced volatility. While investors may want to believe this time is truly different due to spending on artificial intelligence (AI), it may not turn out to be the case. And if there is a slowdown in its impressive growth, the stock could have plenty of room to fall.
Why I wouldn't count on Micron's stock hitting $1,600 anytime soon
Analyst price targets typically look at where a stock might go within the next year or so. To rise to $1,600, Micron's valuation would increase by more than 70%, to a market cap of around $1.8 trillion -- that's higher than Meta Platforms and Tesla.
Unless Micron turns into a full-blown meme stock, I'd be surprised to see it reach such levels. Even now, with a market cap of over $1 trillion, its valuation is rich. And with that tied heavily to AI-related spending, the tech stock looks risky. While Micron's been a hot stock over the past year, I wouldn't rush to buy it at its current price.
