So, first, a quick note on how we know about these billionaires' moves. On a quarterly basis, managers of more than $100 million in stocks must report their activity to the Securities and Exchange Commission on Form 13F. These forms are available for the public to see, so we may get a glimpse into the latest moves of these investing experts.
Tepper and Platt, like many other billionaires, have been investing in AI stocks; Tepper may be the most aggressive here, though, as his top five holdings, from Alibaba to Meta Platforms, are heavily involved in AI. Platt's biggest stock positions are in finance and energy. Both billionaires made two similar moves in the latest quarter, however...
Tepper, who oversees $6.9 billion, cut his position in Nvidia by 10%, and it now makes up 4.6% of his portfolio. He's held the stock since the first quarter of 2023.
Platt, who manages $3.3 billion, slashed Nvidia by 96%, and the stock now makes up only 0.2% of his portfolio. He's held Nvidia shares since the second quarter of last year.
Tepper increased his position in Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU) by 200%, and it now accounts for 6.2% of his portfolio. He's held the stock since the second quarter of 2023.
Platt opened a new position in Micron, and it represents about 0.1% of his portfolio.
A better growth buy
As always with 13F filings, we don't know the exact reason behind the investors' moves. But these decisions by Tepper and Platt suggest the billionaires believe Micron will deliver growth as the next stages of the AI story unfold -- and potentially represent a better growth buy than Nvidia. It's also important to note that these moves took place a few months ago, and the billionaires' views or strategies may have changed in more recent times.
Still, it's fair to say that Micron, a leader in the AI memory and storage space, could deliver significant earnings growth in the coming quarters. Micron's products may be popular among AI customers during this next stage of AI growth, as AI is more regularly applied to real-world problems. To make this happen, models go through inference or a "thinking" process that allows them to develop answers and solutions. And to do this, they will need a lot of memory.
Micron's record earnings
In the most recent period, Micron offered us a preview of this trend, with revenue reaching record levels, and the company expects more records in the next reporting period. Micron says AI demand is driving this momentum.
So, should you follow billionaires Tepper and Platt and opt for Micron shares over Nvidia? This depends on your investment strategy and current AI holdings. If you've already held Nvidia stock for a while and are looking for another high-potential stock, you might favor buying Micron right now. The stock trades at only 11x forward earnings estimates, compared with 20x or higher for many other AI stocks.
That said, like the billionaires, you might want to hold onto some Nvidia shares as the AI giant is likely to keep delivering significant growth as this AI boom marches on.

AI servers require enormous amounts of memory to train and run large models, pushing up demand for dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) and high-bandwidth memory (HBM).
Hence, the key metric to watch as Micron heads into itsearnings callis not simply whether the company beats consensus estimates. Instead, the most important factor is whether the memory supply demand mismatch will persist through 2026 and continue translating into strong pricing power for Micron.
Memory pricing dynamics
Historically, memory has been a cyclical segment of the semiconductor industry. While prices surge during periods of shortages, they typically decline once new capacity enters the market.
However, in the current environment , Micron's management has noted that memory demand is significantly higher than the available industry supply. The tight supply demand conditions are expected to persist beyond 2026. The company also indicated that it could meet only 50% to two-thirds of the memory requirements of several of its key customers.
Demand for HBM has been soaring, especially as it is placed close to GPUs in AI accelerators and used extensively for training and running AI models. As models grow larger, context windows expand, and reasoning workloads become more complex, memory requirements across data centers are rising rapidly. Micron has already sold out its entire available HBM supply for calendar year 2026.
Despite the soaring demand, supply cannot expand at the same pace since new semiconductor fabrication facilities -- or fabs -- take years to build. Micron also expects to add meaningful capacity only from 2027 onward.
In this environment, investors should pay attention to management's commentary on pricing trends and available supply. If Micron manages to sustain higher pricing and margins for longer than in previous memory cycles, the company's stock may continue to soar in the next few years.

The next great AI stock
Increasingly, memory chip giant Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU) is emerging as an AI stock set for outsized growth.
When it comes to Micron, several tailwinds are coming together to take this stock higher. Micron has become a leader in high-bandwidth memory (HBM). HBM delivers massive data throughput while reducing latency and power consumption. This is critical for running the most advanced AI applications.
Moreover, only three companies produce this type of memory. South Korea-based Samsung and SK Hynix are its competitors. However, from an investor standpoint, Micron is the only American company of the three and the only one trading on U.S. markets, making it the only feasible choice for most investors.
Furthermore, the high demand for HBM has helped address a critical problem with Micron stock. The semiconductor industry is highly cyclical, and unfortunately, down cycles have wiped out all the gains Micron earned in the up cycle in past years.
Investors should not assume that the cycles have disappeared, and at some point, Micron will almost certainly face another down cycle. Nonetheless, thanks to the demand for HBM, down cycles have not hit Micron's financials as hard, meaning the stock is in a long-term uptrend.
Over the last five years, the stock has been up by nearly 350%, with most of that gain occurring over the last year.
What the numbers say about Micron
The financials likely helped drive much of that stock price growth. In the first quarter of fiscal 2026 (ended Nov. 27), revenue of $13.6 billion rose by 56% yearly. That exceeded the 49% annual increase in revenue in fiscal 2025.
Moreover, both the cost of goods sold and operating expenses rose at a much slower pace. Thus, the fiscal first-quarter net income of more than $5.2 billion far surpassed the $1.9 billion earned in the year-ago quarter. Although that did not match the 11-fold net income gain in fiscal 2025, it still amounted to huge growth.
Furthermore, analysts forecast 109% revenue growth rate in fiscal 2026, and even with that growth, the valuation remains muted. It is possible that long-term investors remember the brutal downturns of the past and do not want to award it a premium valuation.
Still, growth forecasts do not show a reversal of growth occurring anytime soon. Thus, the 39 price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio seems reasonable considering how fast its profits grow. Additionally, with a forward P/E of just 12, it looks increasingly likely investors will keep bidding Micron stock higher.
Consider Micron stock
Given Micron's importance to AI and its valuation relative to its revenue and income growth, investors should not expect its stock price growth to slow anytime soon.
Admittedly, Micron was one of the more notable victims of past downturns in the chip industry, especially when compared to chip industry peers who are not in the memory business. To this day, its relatively low valuation may reflect some of those worries.
However, Micron's HBM memory is a critical component in AI advancement, and the fact that it is only one of three companies making this memory gives it a distinct competitive advantage.
That means that at least for the foreseeable future, a brutal stock sell-off is less likely. Still, even with the risks of a severe down cycle, the rapid growth and falling valuation arguably make Micron too cheap to ignore.

Nvidia
As the undisputed leader in AI infrastructure, Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) is certainly one of the companies best positioned for this AI data center spending spree. The company has already been putting up tremendous growth, with its revenue surging eightfold over the past three years to $215.9 billion for the fiscal year 2026 ended in January. Its revenue continues to grow at a rapid pace, climbing 73% year over year last quarter.
Nvidia has established itself as the muscle behind AI workloads with its graphics processing units (GPUs). However, the company is now much more than just chips. Its networking portfolio has actually been its fastest-growing business, with revenue skyrocketing 264% last quarter to $11 billion. Nvidia is now offering end-to-end AI server solutions, which should help it capture even more of this AI spending.
At the same time, the stock is attractively valued, trading at a forward price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 22 times based on current fiscal-year analyst estimates.
Micron Technology
For GPUs and other AI chips to perform at their best, they need to be packaged with a special form of dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) called high-bandwidth memory (HBM). With demand for AI chips soaring, so is demand for HBM. Meanwhile, these components are in short supply. Not only is HBM manufacturing more complex, but it also requires upwards of three times the wafer capacity of ordinary DRAM. This has left the entire DRAM market in tight supply, which has been increasing prices.
As one of the big three DRAM makers, along with Korean companies Samsung and SK Hynix, Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU) is well-positioned to benefit from this trend. The company saw its revenue jump 57% year over year last quarter, while even more importantly, its gross margins soared from 38.4% a year ago to 56%. That's leading to huge gains in profit and cash flow.
Meanwhile, Micron's stock is inexpensive due to its historically cyclical nature, trading at a forward P/E of just 11.5 times fiscal 2026 analyst estimates (ending in August) and just over 8.5 times the fiscal 2027 consensus. Micron has been seeking longer-term contracts for HBM, and if the company can shake off some of the cyclicality of its business, given the huge secular growth of AI infrastructure, then the stock could have a lot of upside from here.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing
Another company set to benefit from the surge in AI data center spending is Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (NYSE: TSM). The company is the largest foundry in the world, and given its technological expertise and scale, it has a virtual monopoly on making advanced logic chips like GPUs. This position not only makes the company a closer partner to chip designers like Nvidia but also gives it strong pricing power. In fact, it has been reported that it has already laid out a four-year, planned price hike for its services.
TSMC has been seeing strong growth, with its revenue climbing 25.5% year over year last quarter. Meanwhile, that growth shows no signs of slowing down. It recently saw a 37% increase in revenue in local currencies for January and a 22% rise for February. Overall, it is projecting that its AI-related revenue will grow at a more than 50% annual pace through 2029.
TSMC's stock is also attractively valued, trading at a forward P/E of 24 times 2026 analyst estimates. Given its valuation and growth, it is a top AI stock to own.

Memory chip demand is unprecedented
Micron makes memory chips, an important part of any computing application. Unlike with logic chips, there really aren't a lot of differentiating characteristics between one company's product and its peers. This has caused the memory chip price to become fairly commoditized, which eliminates pricing power. Micron's business is subject to the demand for memory chips, and there has rarely been higher demand, thanks to the massive AI buildout.
Because all memory production is spoken for, prices for chips have skyrocketed. Just take a look at what the price of a RAM stick was a year ago versus what it is today -- that will tell you how much it has gone up. Because of the massive demand, Micron's profits are soaring, which is why investors are buying the stock.
While competitors are racing to get new production online to meet demand, this takes some time. Micron expects its Idaho facility to be producing chips by mid-2027, and to have a second facility by 2028. That is needed because Micron expects huge memory chip demand growth over the next few years.
The total addressable market for its high bandwidth memory (HBM, the type needed for AI applications) is expected to rise from $35 billion in 2025 to $100 billion by 2028. That's huge growth over the next few years, and could cause Micron's stock to skyrocket.
However, there's one thing investors must keep in mind: cyclicality. The memory chip market is notoriously cyclical, and once AI demand has been satisfied, it may be a long time before Micron experiences demand of this magnitude again. This will cause memory prices to crash and Micron to lose its cash cow. When this would occur is anyone's guess. It could be in several years, a decade, or the next month. This unknown is why Micron's stock isn't priced all that expensively.
The stock trades at 11 times forward earnings, which may seem cheap, but that's the market pricing in its cyclicality. If AI demand persists for several years, Micron could be a genius investment. However, if the memory chip supply constraint is remedied in a short timeframe, Micron's stock may not be the best buy, as prices would come down, dragging profits with them. Micron is not a set-it-and-forget-it stock; investors continuously monitor it to make sure their thesis is intact. If you're willing to do that, then Micron could be a genius stock pick right now.

That's why I will take a closer look at the memory market's dynamics and help investors determine whether Micron stock can deliver more upside this year.
The incredible memory price growth is here to stay in 2026
A closer look at memory-related news shows that Micron will continue to benefit from a favorable pricing environment. UBS, for instance, expects a 62% spike in the price of dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) in the first quarter of 2026. NAND flash memory prices are expected to jump by 40% in the current quarter.
Micron sells both DRAM and NAND flash chips. DRAM chips, which are used for computing purposes in data centers, smartphones, and computers, move the needle in a bigger way for the company, accounting for almost 80% of its revenue. The rest of Micron's revenue comes from the storage-focused NAND flash chips.
The good news for Micron investors is that the DRAM chip shortage is expected to persist for the next 12 to 18 months. Even NAND chips are expected to be in tight supply until the middle of next year. In fact, the shortage of memory chips is so acute due to the robust AI-fueled demand that DRAM prices are expected to surge by a whopping 70% in the second quarter of 2026.
Memory manufacturers are taking advantage of the supply constraints. Samsung, for instance, has reportedly increased DRAM prices by a whopping 100%. This follows a sizable 70% increase by the South Korean chip giant in January. It won't be surprising to see Micron follow a similar path and capitalize on the intense demand for AI chips from data centers.
The biggest reason the DRAM market is undersupplied is that high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips reportedly consume 3 times the semiconductor wafer capacity of standard memory chips. As HBM is being used in graphics cards, AI-focused application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs), and even server processors, it is easy to see why it is sold out for 2026.
Moreover, Micron points out that the HBM market's revenue is poised to almost triple between 2025 and 2028, reaching $100 billion within a couple of years. So, Micron's biggest catalyst is here to stay, not just in 2026, but for the next two years at least.
Is the stock set to soar further this year?
The semiconductor stock has already logged impressive gains of 36% in 2026. It trades at almost 38 times earnings right now, a premium to the tech-focused Nasdaq-100 index's earnings multiple of 32. However, this premium is justified if we consider that analysts are expecting a massive 322% increase in earnings this year to $35 per share, followed by another sizable increase next year.
An important point to note in the above chart is that Micron's earnings estimates have been moving higher, a trend that could continue based on the points discussed above. Assuming Micron indeed achieves $46.63 per share in earnings in the next fiscal year (which will end in August 2027), its stock price could jump to $1,189 (if the stock trades in line with the Nasdaq-100 index's forward earnings multiple of 25.5 next year).
That's around triple Micron's current price, suggesting that this AI stock isn't done soaring just yet.

Micron Is the Best-Performing Artificial Intelligence (AI) Stock of the Past Year -- Up 318%. Can It Keep Going in 2026?

Another artificial intelligence (AI) stock has seen earnings slump as it invests in multiple opportunities for growth, but it looks like a good opportunity.
Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU) and Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ: PLTR) are two of the hottest artificial intelligence (AI) stocks. Both companies generate phenomenal revenue and earnings growth as demand for their products soars, thanks to developments in AI. And the market hasn't let that go unnoticed.
Despite the pullback in software stocks in 2026, Palantir's share price is up more than 96% over the past year and 1,990% in the last three years. And Micron shares have continued to climb in 2026, and the stock is now up 349% in the past year. The market now values Palantir at $367 billion and Micron at $452 billion as of this writing, making them two of the biggest companies in the world.

But another AI stock may be underappreciated by the market right now. And despite its market cap closer to $320 billion, I predict it'll be worth more than both Micron and Palantir by next year.
These AI darlings are expensive
There's no denying that both Micron and Palantir are producing excellent financial results right now. The biggest issue facing both companies is valuation.
At first blush, Micron's forward P/E ratio of 11.1 might seem like an incredible bargain. After all, the memory chipmaker is set to see earnings per share quadruple in its current fiscal year. Analysts expect even more growth next year.
But it's important to understand what's driving Micron's results. The sudden spike in earnings stems from growing demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips. As demand grows, Micron and the other memory chipmakers have reallocated capacity to meet it, but they've been slow to build new capacity.
As a result, prices for memory chips have spiked, increasing profits and margins. Price hikes might also artificially inflate demand from buyers front-running additional price increases, further exacerbating the near-term imbalance. Micron's management expects the supply constraints to remain through 2027.
However, as more capacity comes online and the supply-demand equilibrium normalizes, prices will return to normal levels. With the additional expenses of its new capacity, operating expenses will remain high. Margins will compress, and earnings will decline. This is the cyclical nature of the semiconductor business, but it's especially pronounced in the commodity-like memory chip business.
Micron's P/E ratio has dropped into the low single digits at the peak of its earnings cycles. Based on historical data, investors expect the current earnings cycle to last well past 2028, even though management suggests supply will return to balance with demand by the end of next year.
Meanwhile, Palantir's forward P/E ratio of 118 and price-to-sales ratio of 90 are tough to swallow. Even though the company produced revenue growth of 70% last quarter and 56% for the full year, with improving operating margins, that valuation implies the incredible earnings growth will continue for years to come.
Analysts currently expect earnings per share growth to exceed 40% in both 2027 and 2028. But even with those lofty expectations, the stock trades for 60 times 2028 earnings forecasts. At its current valuation, a minor disappointment could send shares lower.
As such, investors shouldn't expect the recent returns they've seen in Micron and Palantir stock to continue, given their current valuations. I predict both will trade around a $400 billion market cap by the end of 2027, if not lower.
The AI stock that will overtake Micron and Palantir
Meanwhile, another AI stock could see its valuation climb well past $400 billion by next year.
Despite a sharp sell-off in shares over the last couple of months, investors may have an incredible opportunity to buy shares of an AI cloud computing giant at an exceptional value. Alibaba (NYSE: BABA) may face competitive pressure and geopolitical risks, but its current valuation more than accounts for them. At a market cap of about $320 billion, it has significant upside from here.
Alibaba has seen its earnings drop significantly as it invests across both its retail operations and its cloud computing business. Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) decreased 78% year over year in its second quarter, which ended in September.
On the retail side, revenue grew a respectable 16% last quarter. However, earnings were pressured by its push into "quick commerce," i.e., delivering items within an hour of a customer's order. The business requires significant scale to operate profitably, and Alibaba is spending heavily to promote it to customers and bring additional vendors and brands on board.
Unit economics improved last quarter, and management says they have continued improving since September. As quick commerce becomes margin-neutral, Alibaba should see a sharp recovery in its retail profits.
Meanwhile, the opportunity in cloud computing remains massive. Revenue accelerated to 34% for the cloud division last quarter, driven by growing adoption of Alibaba's AI products. AI services are growing particularly quickly, up triple digits.
To support that growth, however, Alibaba is investing heavily in AI development and training to keep attracting more customers with its Qwen models. It's also spending heavily on infrastructure to support the growing demand.
Shares of Alibaba trade for just 21 times forward earnings expectations, which is a very attractive valuation for a company expected to grow earnings per share at a solid double-digit pace over the next two years after recovering from its current investment cycle. That price more than accounts for the risk of investing in China, and I expect the multiple to expand over the next couple years, pushing Alibaba's market cap above $400 billion by next year.

Prediction: 1 Artificial Intelligence (AI) Stock That Will Be Worth More Than Micron and Palantir by 2027

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) on Friday closed down -0.61%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average ($DOWI) (DIA) closed down -0.26%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) closed down -0.62%. March E-mini S&P futures (ESH26) fell -0.60%, and March E-mini Nasdaq futures (NQH26) fell -0.66%.
Stocks gave up an early advance on Friday and retreated, with the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrials falling to 3.5-month lows. Stocks fell after crude oil prices recovered from early losses and rallied more than +3%, as the war in Iran shows no signs of abating. The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday that the US is moving a Marine expeditionary unit to the Middle East as Iran steps up attacks on the Strait of Hormuz.

Stocks initially moved higher on Friday when WTI crude oil gave up overnight gains and fell more than -2% after the US granted a temporary waiver allowing buyers to take Russian oil cargoes already at sea. The US Treasury granted a month-long waiver to import Russian oil loaded before Thursday, covering Russian crude oil and fuel on about 30 tankers carrying at least 19 million barrels. Crude was also briefly pressured after the Financial Times reported that France and Italy had opened talks with Iran to negotiate a deal to guarantee the safe passage of their ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
Crude prices also found support on Friday after US officials said Iran has begun laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz, an effort that could further complicate US efforts to restart shipping in the waterway. Despite the US destroying most large ships in the Iranian navy used to lay mines, Iran began using smaller boats for the operation on Thursday, according to a US official briefed on the intelligence. Goldman Sachs warns that crude prices could exceed the 2008 record high of close to $150 a barrel if flows through the Strait of Hormuz remain depressed through March.
The latest rhetoric from President Trump and Iranian leader Khamenei suggests there will be no immediate easing in the war that has disrupted energy shipments in the Middle East and spurred concerns about rising inflation. Global bond yields have soared this week on inflation fears, with the German 10-year bund yield rising to a 2.25-year high of 2.99% on Friday and the 10-year T--note yield climbing to a 1.25-month high at 4.29%.
Crude oil prices remain underpinned despite attempts to boost global supplies. The IEA on Wednesday released 400 million barrels from emergency oil stockpiles and said the war against Iran is disrupting 7.5% of global oil supply, and the conflict will cut global oil supply by 8 million bpd this month. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz, through which about a fifth of the world’s oil and natural gas flows, has choked off oil and gas flows due to Iran’s attacks on shipping in the waterway and forced Gulf producers to cut output because they can’t export from the region.
Friday’s US economic news was mixed for stocks. Jan personal spending, Jan JOLTS job openings, and the University of Michigan US Mar consumer sentiment index all rose more than expected. However, Jan capital goods new orders nondefense ex-aircraft and parts, a proxy for capital spending, were weaker than expected. Also, Q4 GDP was revised lower, and the Jan core PCE price index, the Fed's preferred inflation gauge, rose by the most in 1.75 years.
US Jan personal spending rose +0.4% m/m, stronger than expectations of +0.3% m/m. Jan personal income rose +0.4% m/m, weaker than expectations of +0.5% m/m.
The US Jan core PCE price index, the Fed's preferred inflation gauge, rose +3.1% y/y, right on expectations and the highest in 1.75 years.
US Jan capital goods new orders nondefense ex-aircraft and parts were unchanged m/m, weaker than expectations of +0.5% m/m.
US Q4 GDP was revised downward to +0.7% (q/q annualized) from the previously reported +1.4% as Q4 personal consumption was revised lower to +2.0% from the previously reported +2.4%.
The University of Michigan US consumer sentiment index fell -1.1 to 55.5, stronger than the 54.8 expected.
The University of Michigan's US Mar 1-year inflation expectations were unchanged from Feb at 3.4%, below expectations of a rise to 3.7%. The Mar 5-10 year inflation expectations unexpectedly fell to 3.2% from 3.3% in Feb, weaker than expectations of an increase to 3.4%.
US Jan JOLTS job openings rose +396,000 to 6.946 million, stronger than expectations of 6.750 million.
Q4 earnings season is nearly over, with more than 98% of the S&P 500 companies having reported earnings results. Earnings have been a positive factor for stocks, with 74% of the 495 S&P 500 companies that have reported beating expectations. According to Bloomberg Intelligence, S&P earnings growth is expected to climb by +8.4% in Q4, marking the tenth consecutive quarter of year-over-year growth. Excluding the Magnificent Seven megacap technology stocks, Q4 earnings are expected to increase by +4.6%.
The markets are discounting a 1% chance for a -25 bp FOMC rate cut at the next policy meeting on March 17-18.
Overseas stock markets settled lower on Friday. The Euro Stoxx 50 closed down -0.56%. China's Shanghai Composite closed down -0.82%. Japan's Nikkei Stock 225 closed down -1.16%.
Interest Rates
June 10-year T-notes (ZNM6) on Friday closed unchanged. The 10-year T-note yield rose +1.8 bp to 4.279%. June T-notes fell to a 1.25-month low on Friday, and the 10-year T-note yield climbed to a 5-week high of 4.289%. T-notes gave up an early advance on Friday after crude oil prices jumped more than +3%, which fueled inflation fears. Also, mixed US economic news limited gains in T-notes after Jan JOLTS job openings, and the University of Michigan Mar consumer sentiment index rose more than expected, hawkish factors for Fed policy. Conversely, Q4 GDP was revised lower, and Jan capital goods new orders rose less than expected, supportive factors for T-notes. Also, Friday’s stock weakness sparked some safe-haven demand for T-notes.
European government bond yields moved higher on Friday. The 10-year German bund yield rose to a 2.25-year high of 2.992% and finished up +2.6 bp to 2.983%. The 10-year UK gilt yield rose to a 6.25-month high of 4.825% and finished up +4.9 bp to 4.823%.
UK Jan GDP was unchanged m/m, weaker than expectations of +0.2% m/m.
UK Jan manufacturing production rose +0.1% m/m, weaker than expectations of +0.2% m/m.
Swaps are discounting a 3% chance of a -25 bp ECB rate hike at its next policy meeting on March 19.
US Stock Movers
Meta Platforms (META) closed down more than -3% to lead the Magnificent Seven technology stocks lower after the New York Times reported that the company’s latest AI model has underperformed expectations and will be delayed. Also, Apple (AAPL) closed down more than -2%, and Microsoft (MSFT) and Nvidia (NVDA) closed down more than -1%. In addition, Tesla (TSLA) closed down -0.96%. Amazon.com (AMZN) closed down -0.89% and Alphabet (GOOGL) closed down -0.42%.
Chip stocks and AI-infrastructure companies moved higher on Friday, a supportive factor for the broader market. Sandisk (SNDK) closed up more than +6% to lead gainers in the S&P 500, and Micron Technology (MU) closed up more than +4% to lead gainers in the Nasdaq 100. Also, Western Digital (WDC) closed up more than +4%, and Seagate Technology Holdings Plc (STX) closed up more than +2%. In addition, Lam Research (LRCX), Applied Materials (AMAT), and Intel (INTC) closed up more than +1%.
Cryptocurrency-exposed stocks moved higher on Friday as Bitcoin (^BTCUSD) rose more than +1% to a 1-week high. Galaxy Digital Holdings (GLXY) closed up more than +8%, and MARA Holdings (MARA) closed up more than +6%. Also, Strategy (MSTR) and Coinbase Global (COIN) closed up more than +1%.
Mining stocks sold off on Friday as copper prices fell more than -2%, gold prices fell more than -1%, and silver prices dropped more than -4%. Anglogold Ashanti Ltd (AU) closed down more than -9%, and Coeur Mining (CDE) closed down more than -6%. Also, Southern Copper (SCCO) closed down more than -5%, and Newmont Mining (NEM), Hecla Mining (HL), Barrick Mining (B), and Freeport-McMoRan (FCX) closed down more than -4%.
Fertilizer stocks retreated on Friday, giving back some of this week’s sharp gains. Intrepid Potash (IPI) and Mosaic (MOS) closed down more than -6%, and CF Industries Holdings (CF) closed down more than -4%.
EverCommerce (EVCM) closed down more than -15% after forecasting Q1 revenue of $145.5 million to $148.5 million, well below the consensus of $151 million.
Ulta Beauty (ULTA) closed down more than -14% to lead losers in the S&P 500 after it forecast full-year comparable sales will increase 2.5% to 3.5%, below the consensus of 3.5%.
Adobe (ADBE) closed down more than -7% to lead losers in the Nasdaq 100 after CEO Narayen said he will resign and remain in his post until a successor has been appointed.
Insulet (PODD) closed down more than -6% after it issued a voluntary recall of some Omnipod 5 Pods due to a manufacturing issue that led to 18 reports of serious adverse events.
ServiceTitan (TTAN) closed down more than -5% after reporting a Q4 EPS loss of -44 cents, wider than the consensus of -41 cents.
Klarna Group Plc (KLAR) closed up more than +9% after an SEC filing showed Chairman Morits purchased 3.47 million shares through an associated entity between March 3 and March 11.
Charles Schwab (SCHW) closed up more than +2% after it expects revenue growth of 16% in Q1 and said the company’s “diversified financial model continues to deliver.”
Carvana (CVNA) closed up more than +2% after its board approved a 5-for-1 split of its common stock.
Circle Internet Group (CRCL) closed up more than +1% after Mizuho Securities raised its price target on the stock to $120 from $100.

Micron moves higher on price-target revision
Wedbush Morgan published new coverage on Micron today and reiterated an outperform rating on the company. More importantly, the investment firm raised its one-year price target on the stock from $320 per share to $500 per share. Matt Bryson, Wedbush's lead analyst on the stock, said that the memory-chip leader had a promising setup heading into its second quarter report next week.
After the market closes on March 18, Micron is scheduled to publish results for the second quarter of its current fiscal year -- a period which concluded at the end of February. Bryson expects that the company's Q2 results and Q3 guidance will exceed the market's expectations.
What's next for Micron?
Micron's fiscal Q2 report is poised to be an important event for the artificial intelligence (AI) hardware industry and broader stock market. Due to its status as the leading provider of memory chips used for AI processors, the company's sales performance has become a meaningful bellwether for demand in the overall AI space. There seems to be a good chance that the company will post sales and earnings that beat the average analyst estimates thanks to high demand for AI memory chips, but expectations are high heading into the report.
