The company offers memory products for the cloud server, enterprise, client, graphics, networking, industrial, and automotive markets, as well as for smartphone and other mobile-device markets; SSDs and component-level solutions for the enterprise and cloud, client, and consumer storage markets; discrete storage products in component and wafers; and memory and storage products for the automotive, industrial, and consumer markets. It markets its products through its direct sales force, independent sales representatives, distributors, and retailers; and web-based customer direct sales channel, as well as through channel and distribution partners. Noteworthy ETF Inflows: XLK, IBM, MU, NOW

Last Friday, the three most widely followed benchmark indexes closed a winning week. The tech-heavy Nasdaq, the Dow Jones and the S&P 500 gained 2.3%, 2.2% and 1.9%, respectively.

The week’s trading reflects a mix of reduced trade-war fears between the United States and China, inflation coming in cooler than expected and U.S. sanctions on Russian oil firms shifting the energy market. The weaker-than-forecast inflation reading bolstered hopes for a rate cut by the Fed, lifting investor sentiment. Next week, markets will focus on upcoming central-bank commentary and big tech earnings.

Beat the Market the Zacks Way: PDD, Shopify, 3M in Focus

Buying artificial intelligence (AI) stocks that are both profitable and undervalued may seem like a long shot right now. That's because many companies that are capitalizing on the AI boom are either too expensive or have yet to make a profit because of their heavy investments into this space, or both.
That's why Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU) looks like an outlier in the universe of AI stocks. Shares of the chipmaker have shot up a remarkable 140% in 2025 as of this writing. Even then, it trades at a substantial discount when compared to other technology and AI stocks. Micron's attractive valuation along with its ability to sustain the impressive growth in its revenue and profits is likely to pave the way for more upside in this semiconductor stock.

Micron is set to win big from secular growth in memory chip demand
Micron is coming off a solid fiscal performance that explains its red-hot rally in 2025. The company's revenue in the recently concluded fiscal 2025 (which ended on Aug. 28) was up by 49% from the previous year to $37.4 billion. Meanwhile, the improving pricing environment in the memory chip industry led to a sharp improvement in Micron's bottom line.
Its non-GAAP (adjusted) earnings per share increased to $8.29 per share in fiscal 2025 from $1.30 per share in the prior year. Micron's operating income margin jumped by almost 4x last fiscal year as the tight supply and healthy demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips deployed in AI servers boosted prices. However, a recent development may lead investors to wonder if the favorable memory pricing environment can continue.
A Reuters exclusive report says that Micron is planning to stop selling its AI server memory chips to Chinese customers. The chipmaker was banned by Beijing in 2023 from selling memory products that power crucial infrastructure in the country, which explains its eventual exit from conducting data center business in that country.
Micron generated just $2.6 billion in revenue from mainland China in the previous fiscal year, which was 7% of its top line. It is worth noting that it will continue to sell its data center memory chips to Chinese customers who have established their operations outside the country, including Lenovo. Micron will also sell memory chips deployed in automotive, smartphone, and personal computer (PC) applications in China.
Meanwhile, the company plans to direct the data center memory capacity that will be freed up after shutting its data center business in China toward other markets. Investors will do well to note that Micron management pointed out on its previous earnings conference call that it expects "to conclude agreements to sell out the remainder of our total HBM calendar 2026 supply in the coming months."
It shouldn't be difficult for Micron to find customers for its HBM chips. That's because this type of memory is being increasingly deployed in both graphics processing units (GPUs) and custom AI processors to handle AI workloads in the cloud. Goldman Sachs is predicting a 23% increase in GPU-related HBM demand next year, along with a much bigger increase of 82% from custom AI processors.
Micron's cloud memory business unit (CMBU), which accounts for sales of HBM, saw a 3.5x jump in revenue in the previous fiscal year to $13.5 billion. Given that the demand for HBM is growing at a faster pace than supply, Micron is looking to expand its manufacturing capacity. In all, it shouldn't be too difficult for the company to overcome the minor setback in China.
Investors should note that HBM is likely to remain in robust demand in the long run as well considering that a whopping $4 trillion could be spent on AI infrastructure by the end of the decade. Companies such as Nvidia, Broadcom, and AMD have been receiving sizable orders to deploy their chips in AI data centers, and all of them rely on Micron for HBM.
Micron management says that it now has six customers for HBM chips. So, there is a good chance that it supplies this type of memory to all the leading AI chipmakers. That's likely to ensure that the impressive growth in Micron's earnings continues.
Micron's earnings growth potential and valuation point toward more upside
We have already seen that Micron's earnings grew at a blistering pace last year. The good part is that analysts are expecting its outstanding growth to continue in the current fiscal year as well, followed by another double-digit jump in the next one.
The chart above tells us that Micron's bottom line could double in fiscal 2026. Given that Micron is trading at just 24 times trailing earnings right now, investors can get their hands on this AI stock at an attractive valuation. After all, Micron is cheaper than the tech-laden Nasdaq-100 index's trailing earnings multiple of 33 (using the index as a proxy for tech stocks).
It won't be surprising to see Micron enjoying a premium valuation after a year on account of its remarkable earnings growth. Assuming that the stock trades in line with the index after a year and indeed hits $16.68 per share in earnings, its price could hit $550. That would translate into potential gains of 170% from current levels, giving investors a solid reason to buy it before it skyrockets further.

Undervalued and Profitable: This Magnificent Artificial Intelligence (AI) Stock Can Soar Higher After Skyrocketing 140% in 2025

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) on Friday rose by +0.79%, the Dow Jones Industrials Index ($DOWI) (DIA) rose by +1.01%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) rose by +1.04%. December E-mini S&P futures (ESZ25) rose by +0.74%, and December E-mini Nasdaq futures (NQZ25) rose by +1.00%.
The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq 100 indexes both rallied to new record highs on Friday. Stocks found support from the slightly weaker-than-expected US CPI report, which gave the Fed a bit more latitude to cut interest rates. The Sep CPI report of +0.3% m/m and +3.0% y/y was slightly weaker than market expectations of +0.4% m/m and +3.1% y/y. Also, the Sep core CPI report of +0.2% m/m and +3.0% y/y was slightly weaker than market expectations of +0.3% m/m and +3.1% y/y.

While the markets reacted favorably to Friday’s CPI report, the Sep CPI report of +3.0% y/y rose to match the current 16-month high, and the core CPI report of +3.0% y/y was still far above the Fed’s inflation target of +2.0%.
Stocks also saw support from Friday’s Oct S&P US manufacturing PMI report of +0.2 to 52.2, stronger than expectations of unchanged at 52.0. Also, the Oct S&P US services PMI report of +1.0 to 55.2 was stronger than expectations for a -0.7 point decline to 53.5.
On the negative side, Friday’s final-Oct University of Michigan US consumer sentiment index fell -1.4 points to 53.6, which was weaker than market expectations of a -0.5 point drop to 54.5.
Stocks were undercut when President Trump late Thursday announced he had terminated trade negotiations with Canada, citing an anti-tariff advertisement released by the provincial government of Ontario that apparently hit a nerve with Mr. Trump. The ad featured former US President Reagan speaking out in a 1987 address in favor of free trade and against tariffs, calling tariffs an outdated idea that stifles innovation, drives up prices, and hurts US workers.
Mr. Trump claimed the ad was deceptive and said it was designed to influence the US Supreme Court ahead of oral arguments on November 5 on the legality of Mr. Trump’s reciprocal tariffs. Lower courts have already deemed Mr. Trump’s reciprocal tariffs illegal, ruling the tariffs are based on a specious claim of emergency authority. If the US Supreme Court upholds those rulings, the US government will have to refund the tariffs already collected, and Mr. Trump’s power to impose tariffs will be limited to well-founded sections of US trade law.
Later in the day, Ontario said it plans to pause the anti-tariff ad campaign. Also, Canadian Prime Minister Carney said Canada is prepared to resume trade talks “when the Americans are ready.”
The markets are focused on US-China trade talks, as President Trump reiterated his threat on Monday to boost tariffs on Chinese goods “if there isn’t a deal” by November 1. President Trump is scheduled to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping next Thursday on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation conference in South Korea.
The US government shutdown continues into its fourth week, weighing on market sentiment and delaying key economic reports. The government shutdown is delaying the release of government reports, including the last four weeks of weekly initial unemployment claims and the September payroll report. Bloomberg Economics estimates that 640,000 federal workers will be furloughed during the shutdown, which would expand jobless claims and push the unemployment rate up to 4.7%.
The markets are focused on earnings results as the Q3 earnings season continues. Positive corporate earnings expectations are a bullish backdrop for stocks. According to Bloomberg Intelligence, 85% of the S&P 500 companies that have reported so far have beaten forecasts, on course for the best quarter since 2021. However, Q3 profits are expected to have risen by +7.2% y/y, the smallest increase in two years. Also, Q3 sales growth is projected to slow to +5.9% y/y from 6.4% in Q2.
Overseas stock markets on Friday closed higher. The Euro Stoxx 50 closed up +0.11%. China’s Shanghai Composite closed up +0.71%. Japan’s Nikkei Stock 225 closed up +1.35%.
Interest Rates
December 10-year T-notes (ZNZ5) fell -1 tick, while the 10-year T-note yield fell -0.4 bp to 3.997%. T-notes rebounded from early losses on the slightly weaker-than-expected US CPI report. Also, the 10-year breakeven inflation expectations rate fell by -0.6 bp to 2.298%.
T-notes have support from the ongoing US government shutdown, which could lead to additional job losses, reduced consumer spending, and a weakened US economy, potentially allowing the Fed to continue cutting interest rates.
The markets are discounting a 97% chance of a -25 bp rate cut at next week’s FOMC meeting on Oct 28-29.
European government bond yields rose. The 10-year German bund yield rose +4.3 bp to 2.626%. The 10-year UK gilt yield rose +0.8 bp to 4.432%.
Swaps are discounting a 1% chance for a -25 bp rate cut by the ECB at its next policy meeting on October 30.
US Stock Movers
The Magnificent Seven stocks on Friday closed higher, except for the -3.4% decline in Tesla (TSLA). Alphabet (GOOG) and Nvidia (NVDA) both showed gains of more than +2%.
There were some notable gains in chip stocks Friday, which supported gains in tech stocks and the overall market. Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) rallied more than +7%, and Micron Technology (MU) rallied more than +5%. Broadcom (AVGO), Arm Holdings (ARM), and Lam Research (LRCX) rallied more than +2%. Intel (INTC) rose +0.3% on a favorable earnings report and strong revenue guidance.

Stocks Rally to Record Highs on Favorable US CPI Report

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) today is up +0.76%, the Dow Jones Industrials Index ($DOWI) (DIA) is up +0.85%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) is up +1.04%. December E-mini S&P futures (ESZ25) are up +0.70%, and December E-mini Nasdaq futures (NQZ25) are up +0.82%.
Stock indexes are trading higher after today’s slightly weaker-than-expected US CPI report gave the Fed a bit more latitude to cut interest rates. The Sep CPI report of +0.3% m/m and +3.0% y/y was slightly weaker than market expectations of +0.4% m/m and +3.1% y/y. Also, the Sep core CPI report of +0.3% m/m and +3.1% y/y was slightly weaker than market expectations of +0.2% m/m and +3.1% y/y.

While the markets reacted favorably to today’s CPI report, the Sep CPI report of +3.0% y/y rose to match the current 16-month high, and the core CPI report of +3.0% y/y was still far above the Fed’s inflation target of +2.0%.
Stocks also saw support from today’s Oct S&P US manufacturing PMI report of +0.2 to 52.2, stronger than expectations of unchanged at 52.0. Also, the Oct S&P US services PMI report of +1.0 to 55.2 was stronger than expectations for a -0.7 point decline to 53.5.
On the negative side, today’s final-Oct University of Michigan US consumer sentiment index fell -1.4 points to 53.6, which was weaker than market expectations of a -0.5 point drop to 54.5.
Stocks were undercut when President Trump late Thursday announced he had terminated trade negotiations with Canada, citing an anti-tariff advertisement released by the provincial government of Ontario that apparently hit a nerve with Mr. Trump. The ad featured former US President Reagan speaking out in a 1987 address in favor of free trade and against tariffs, calling tariffs an outdated idea that stifles innovation, drives up prices, and hurts US workers.
Mr. Trump claimed the ad was deceptive and said it was designed to influence the US Supreme Court ahead of oral arguments on November 5 on the legality of Mr. Trump’s reciprocal tariffs. Lower courts have already deemed Mr. Trump’s reciprocal tariffs illegal, ruling the tariffs are based on a specious claim of emergency authority. If the US Supreme Court upholds those rulings, the US government will have to refund the tariffs already collected, and Mr. Trump’s power to impose tariffs will be limited to well-founded sections of US trade law.
The markets are focused on US-China trade talks, as President Trump reiterated his threat on Monday to boost tariffs on Chinese goods “if there isn’t a deal” by November 1. President Trump is scheduled to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping next Thursday on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation conference in South Korea.
The US government shutdown continues into its fourth week, weighing on market sentiment and delaying key economic reports. The government shutdown is delaying the release of government reports, including the last four weeks of weekly initial unemployment claims and the September payroll report. Bloomberg Economics estimates that 640,000 federal workers will be furloughed during the shutdown, which would expand jobless claims and push the unemployment rate up to 4.7%.
The markets are focused on earnings results as the Q3 earnings season continues. Positive corporate earnings expectations are a bullish backdrop for stocks. According to Bloomberg Intelligence, 85% of the S&P 500 companies that have reported so far have beaten forecasts, on course for the best quarter since 2021. However, Q3 profits are expected to have risen by +7.2% y/y, the smallest increase in two years. Also, Q3 sales growth is projected to slow to +5.9% y/y from 6.4% in Q2.
Overseas stock markets on Friday are mixed. The Euro Stoxx 50 is down -0.06%. China’s Shanghai Composite closed up +0.71%. Japan’s Nikkei Stock 225 closed up +1.35%.
Interest Rates
December 10-year T-notes (ZNZ5) are up +1 tick, and the 10-year T-note yield is down -0.8 bp at 3.993%. T-notes rebounded from early losses on the slightly weaker-than-expected US CPI report. Also, the 10-year breakeven inflation expectations rate today is down -0.9 bp at 2.294%.
T-notes have ongoing support from the ongoing US government shutdown, which could lead to additional job losses, reduced consumer spending, and a weakened US economy, potentially allowing the Fed to continue cutting interest rates.
The markets are discounting a 97% chance of a -25 bp rate cut at next week’s FOMC meeting on Oct 28-29.
European government bond yields are higher. The 10-year German bund yield is up +4.5 bp at 2.627%. The 10-year UK gilt yield is up +0.4 bp at 4.427%.
Swaps are discounting a 1% chance for a -25 bp rate cut by the ECB at its next policy meeting on October 30.
US Stock Movers
The Magnificent Seven stocks today are mostly trading higher, except for a -2% decline in Tesla (TSLA) and a small decline in Meta Platforms (META). Notable gainers include a +2.8% gain in Alphabet (GOOG), and gains of more than 1% in Nvidia (NVDA), Apple (AAPL), and Amazon (AMZN).
Chip stocks are broadly higher today, supporting gains in tech stocks and the overall market. Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is up more than +6%, and Micron Technology (MU) is up more than 4%. Broadcom (AVGO), Arm Holdings (ARM), and Lam Research (LRCX) are up more than +3%. Intel (INTC) is up +0.6% on a favorable earnings report and strong revenue guidance.

Most tech investors credit artificial intelligence (AI) with ending the 2022 bear market and sparking a boom in stock prices. Those gains created a new crop of transformational stocks, with companies like Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) and Palantir leading the pack.
Now, the staggering gains in some of these stocks have led investors to speculate whether AI stocks are in a bubble. Knowing this, have investors missed this boom, or can they still find opportunity by investing in AI?

Here's what investors should know and watch.
Understanding bubbles
In this context, investors must first understand stock market bubbles. They occur when stock prices increase considerably faster than the value those stocks represent.
Admittedly, one can find individual AI stocks that arguably sell for "bubble level" valuations. An example is Palantir, whose forward P/E ratio recently exceeded 275. Over time, its profits would likely have to increase considerably to justify such a forward earnings multiple.
Moreover, bubbles can be dangerous, even for long-term investors. One can look at Micron, whose stock did not return to its dot-com bubble high until 2022. Also, the price of silver just now achieved a new all-time high, something silver bulls have waited for since 1980.
Since few investors can afford to wait out such recoveries, it is critical for them to differentiate between bubbles and the overvaluations common with tech growth stocks.
Assessing AI valuations
Once investors better understand bubbles, they need to take stock of the industry's growth. According to Grand View Research, the AI industry is expected to grow from around $279 billion in 2024 to approximately $3.5 trillion by 2033. That amounts to a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 32% over the next eight years.
That indicates two things. For one, the "bubbles" in AI are less likely to pop anytime soon amid the industry tailwinds. Additionally, even beginning investors will probably have time to profit from an AI-driven bull market. Fortunately, the individual stocks show wide variances in terms of valuations.
For example, despite 1,500% gains over the last three years, market leader Nvidia has a P/E ratio of 52. While that is above the S&P 500's average of 31, it hardly represents bubble territory. It is also cheaper than rival AMD with a 139 P/E ratio. Still, when considering AMD's forward P/E of 62, its possible overvaluation does not compare to the higher valuations of stocks like Palantir.
Even among the "Magnificent Seven," stocks like Google parent Alphabet and social media giant Meta Platforms have P/E ratios below 30. Also, Qualcomm is arguably the value stock in the AI space. At a P/E of 16, it is likely investors are more concerned about muted upgrade cycles and China exposure than they are about the AI-enabled chips the company continues to release.
Instead, some of the higher valuations that could be in bubble territory seem to involve smaller stocks. Stocks like SoundHound AI, a mid-cap stock specializing in voice-enabled AI, do not even earn profits. Knowing that, its price-to-sales (P/S) ratio of 58 might concern investors given the S&P 500's average P/S ratio of 3.4.
More extreme valuations appear among quantum computing stocks. IonQ sells at a P/S ratio of 272, while Rigetti Computing's sales multiple is nearly 1,500. This could indicate that the quantum computing subsector is in a bubble, but neither of those represent AI stocks as a whole.
Is the AI boom becoming a bubble?
After evaluating individual stocks, investors should not think of AI stocks in general as a bubble.
Admittedly, one can find likely bubbles in the sector, and stocks like Palantir and some smaller stocks that specialize in quantum computing may fit that description.
Still, most stocks, including Nvidia, are likely not in bubble territory. When also seeing the low valuation of Qualcomm, investors should understand that they can find AI stocks trading at a wide variety of valuations.
That bodes well for an industry growing at an estimated 32% CAGR. With the AI growth likely to continue for years, investors should not shy away from the sector over "bubble" fears.

For example, the blended earnings growth rate for the S&P 500 in the third quarter of 2025 is 13.7%, with 86.9% of companies beating EPS estimates (Zacks Earnings Analysis).
Meanwhile, expectations of a gradual shift in Federal Reserve policy toward rate easing have begun to stabilize discount-rate pressure, improving the risk-reward balance for fundamentally strong companies.
In this environment, investments need to be prudently hedged to overcome uncertainties and limit losses related to external shocks. A question that often arises is whether one should resort to a value strategy that seeks discounted stocks or opt for growth investing in times of extreme market instability.
The investing track of the Oracle of Omaha over the past few decades and his gradual shift from being a pure-play value investor to a GARP (growth at a reasonable price) investor might give us all the answers.
Per the GARP theory, the strategic mingling of growth and value-investing principles gives us a hybrid strategy, offering an ideal investment by utilizing the best features of both. What GARPers look for is whether or not the stocks are somewhat undervalued and have solid, sustainable growth potential (Investopedia).
Several stocks that have surged significantly in recent years have demonstrated the overwhelming success of this hybrid investing strategy over pure-play value and growth investments. Here, we will discuss the success of four such stocks. These are Carnival Corp., Micron Technology, Synchrony Financial and Ericsson.
A Few More Words on GARP
GARP investing gives priority to one of the popular value metrics — the price/earnings growth (PEG) ratio. Although it is categorized under value investing, this strategy follows the principles of both growth and value investing.
The PEG ratio is defined as (Price/ Earnings)/Earnings Growth Rate
It relates the stocks' P/E ratios to the future earnings growth rates.
While P/E alone gives an idea of stocks that are trading at a discount, PEG, while adding the growth element to it, helps identify stocks with solid future potential.
A lower PEG ratio, preferably less than 1, is always better for GARP investors.
Say, for example, if a stock's P/E ratio is 10 and the expected long-term growth rate is 15%, the company's PEG will come down to 0.66, a ratio indicating both undervaluation and future growth potential.
Unfortunately, this ratio is often neglected due to investors' limitations in calculating the future earnings growth rate of a stock.
There are some drawbacks to using the PEG ratio though. It does not consider the very common situation of changing growth rates, such as the forecast of the first three years at a very high growth rate, followed by a sustainable but lower growth rate over the long term.
Hence, PEG-based investing can be even more rewarding if some other relevant parameters are also taken into consideration.
