GE Vernova Inc. GEV is expanding its manufacturing capabilities to address the rapidly rising global demand for grid infrastructure, renewable energy technologies and power-generation equipment. As countries accelerate electrification and transition toward cleaner energy systems, utilities and governments require large volumes of turbines, grid components and related equipment. By increasing production capacity, GE Vernova aims to ensure it can deliver these critical technologies at scale and on time.
GEV’s expanded manufacturing capacity strengthens supply security by reducing component shortages and supply-chain bottlenecks, helping ensure timely equipment delivery for grid and power projects. It also improves operational efficiency through streamlined production, lowering costs, shortening delivery times and enhancing product quality.
The company’s Wind business is investing nearly $100 million in its manufacturing facilities. In March 2026, GEV announced an investment of nearly $200 million to expand manufacturing capacity within its Electrification segment by establishing a new facility in Hai Phong, Vietnam. This investment is part of GE Vernova’s planned investments of $11 billion in capital expenditure and R&D through 2028. As Tehran retaliates and Washington considers emergency sanctions relief to tame soaring gasoline prices, the fragility of fossil-fuel dependence has never been clearer.
Against this volatile backdrop, the crisis has fundamentally altered the ‘energy security’ conversation. The transition to non-fossil fuel sources is no longer just a climate goal but a matter of national survival.

The EU is now pledging €200 million to support innovative nuclear technologies, particularly Small Modular Reactors (SMRs).
Bulgaria's Energy Minister has echoed this sentiment, emphasizing nuclear energy's role as a "stable, low-carbon baseload source" amid global supply risks. Notably, more than 10 EU countries have expressed interest in developing and deploying SMRs over the next decade in their national energy and climate plans at the Paris summit (as cited in Euro news).
The logic behind this is simple: when oil and gas become weapons of geopolitical instability, uranium-fueled power generated domestically becomes invaluable. Unlike fossil fuels tied to the Middle East, nuclear energy supplied by top global producers like France and Canada provides a strategic buffer as their production sits safely outside the current war zones.
Will Nuclear’s Rally Continue in the Future?
While the current war scenario has set the stage for sustained nuclear industry expansion, it has been witnessing a solid rally before the escalation of the Middle East conflict, thanks to nuclear’s crucial role in the AI industry.
As major tech firms like Amazon, Google and Microsoft are investing heavily in nuclear power, including SMRs, to operate their power-intensive AI data centers, the use of increased nuclear energy as a source of power will remain even after this war ends.
To this end, analysts at Bernstein have projected uranium prices to remain structurally higher due to supply tightness and surging demand, with nuclear's role as an "AI agent" for data center power. This, in turn, should continue to fuel nuclear’s boom in the future, boosting the nuclear industry’s prospects.

Its top three holdings include CCJ (9.07% weight), Denison Mines (6.13%) and CEG (5.93%).

This fund, with net assets worth $7.16 billion, offers exposure to 52 companies that are engaged in uranium mining and the production of nuclear components, including the extraction, refining, exploration, or manufacturing of equipment for the uranium and nuclear industries. Its top three holdings include CCJ (23.49%), Oklo Inc. OKLO (6.84%) and Nexgen Energy (6.82%).

This fund offers exposure to 43 companies that derive their revenues from uranium mining, exploration, refining, processing, and royalties, along with nuclear energy, equipment, technology and infrastructure. Its top three holdings include CCJ (9.85%), CEG (6.50%) and Paladin Energy (4.06%).
URAN has rallied 75.9% over the past year. The fund charges 35 bps as fees.

1. Cameco is a North American miner with exposure to the nuclear value chain
Cameco (NYSE: CCJ) is uniquely positioned as one of the largest providers of uranium and nuclear fuel products with operations in North America. The company has a robust asset base, including investments in high-grade mines in Canada, such as McArthur River and Cigar Lake, as well as mills such as Key Lake. It also holds a 40% stake in Joint Venture Inkai, one of the world's largest uranium deposits, located in Kazakhstan.
Outside of mining, Cameco also has investments across the nuclear fuel value chain and nuclear energy infrastructure. The company operates the Blind River refinery in Ontario, the world's largest commercial uranium refinery. In addition, it holds a 49% ownership stake in Westinghouse Electric Company, the original equipment manufacturer for about 50% of the global nuclear reactor fleet.
The miner has a backlog of contracts that lock in future revenue, so it doesn't rely on the volatile spot market but still maintains some exposure to rising prices. As older price contracts roll off, the company is capturing greater upside as uranium prices rise. The company has commitments to deliver 230 million pounds of uranium, and the contracts guarantee an average annual delivery of about 28 million pounds over the next five years.
Cameco is well-positioned as a major uranium miner with high-grade assets and long-term contracts that secure future revenue. Its position as a top miner in North America, along with its stake in Westinghouse Electric, provides it with exposure to the ongoing nuclear energy buildout, making it a top nuclear stock for investors to buy and hold long-term.
2. GE Vernova's power equipment includes small modular reactors
GE Vernova (NYSE: GEV) is a major power equipment provider with an installed base of equipment that generates roughly 25% of the world's electricity. Its massive scale provides it with an opportunity for highly profitable service contracts that generate long-term, recurring revenue. In 2026, it entered the year with $150 billion in remaining performance obligations, of which $86 billion is from long-term service contracts.
The company has a small but growing nuclear energy business within its broader power segment. It sees nuclear energy as a foundational carbon-free baseload power source of the future and looks to advance this with its small modular reactor technology, BWRX-300. Its nuclear power business unit grew 24% last year, with full-year revenue topping $1 billion.
GE Vernova's nuclear technology development is a drag on its power segment's overall margins right now, as it incurs additional expenses to support heavy research and development and engineering investments. The company is engaging in discussions with utility providers, hyperscale customers, and projects where SMRs will meaningfully contribute to revenue in the 2030s.
Given its strong market position in power equipment and its budding nuclear energy business, GE Vernova is another excellent nuclear energy stock to buy and hold for decades.
3. BWX Technologies is a crucial partner for the U.S. government
BWX Technologies (NYSE: BWXT) doesn't own or operate nuclear power plants. Instead, it manufactures the complex, specialized equipment and fuel required to make nuclear power and nuclear medicine work. Its primary revenue stream comes from providing engineering, design, and manufacturing services for nuclear reactors and nuclear fuel that power U.S. Navy submarines and aircraft carriers.
What makes BWX compelling is its position as a trusted government contractor and its expanding commercial business. As part of its work with the U.S. government, the company performs sensitive nuclear tasks, including re-establishing domestic uranium enrichment capabilities for national defense. On top of that, its subsidiary, Nuclear Fuel Services, is the sole provider of nuclear fuel for the U.S. Navy.
In addition, it has a rapidly growing commercial segment serving the energy and medical industries. It is the only commercial manufacturer of heavy nuclear components, such as massive steam generators and pressure vessels, in North America. It also specializes in manufacturing radioactive isotopes used by pharmaceutical companies to diagnose and treat cancer.
BWX Technologies is uniquely positioned as a trusted partner of the U.S. government, with defense contracts that provide it with a steady stream of long-term revenue. Meanwhile, the growing demand for nuclear energy provides an upside as it expands commercially, making it another excellent nuclear energy stock to hold for the long haul.

Investors are now focusing less on near-term results and more on the sustainability of artificial intelligence (AI) capital expenditures (capex). They are also concerned about the rising competitive pressures. As hyperscalers and enterprises increasingly shift from AI training to inference (real-time deployment of AI models in production environments), some believe this could create more room for competing chipmakers.
In this environment, investors may want to look beyond semiconductor and AI stocks and opt for energy stocks. Constellation Energy (NASDAQ: CEG) and GE Vernova (NYSE: GEV) are two such growth stocks well-positioned to benefit from the expected long-term rise in U.S. electricity demand. Both are also relatively insulated from Middle East-related oil supply disruptions, as these businesses operate mainly in the U.S. power markets.
1. Constellation Energy
Constellation Energy has become one of the largest electricity producers in the U.S. after completing its acquisition of Calpine in January 2026. The acquisition combined Constellation Energy's zero-emission nuclear generation with Calpine's natural gas and geothermal assets. Constellation Energy now operates 55 gigawatts of generation capacity and serves nearly 2.5 million retail and business customers. The deal has also expanded the company's footprint in fast-growing power markets like Texas and California.
The most significant catalyst for Constellation Energy is the surging electricity demand, mainly from data centers. The company has already signed a 20-year purchase agreement with Meta Platforms for nearly 1,121 megawatts of nuclear energy from its Clinton Clean Energy Center, with deliveries expected to begin June 2027. This agreement supports relicensing and continued operations at the Clinton nuclear facility for another two decades after the expiration of the state Zero Emission Credit subsidy program.
The company has also contracted with Microsoft under a 20-year agreement to support the restart of Three Mile Island Unit 1, also known as Crane Clean Energy Center. Expected to come online in 2028, this project will add over 800 megawatts of carbon-free electricity to the power grid. Together, these agreements provide exceptional long-term revenue visibility powered by data center demand.
Constellation Energy is also benefiting from rising capacity payments and wholesale electricity prices in key power markets, where many of the company's nuclear facilities operate. Wholesale prices determine how much the company earns when it sells electricity into competitive markets, while capacity payments compensate power plants for being available to supply power during periods of high demand.
The company's recent financials highlight its robust operating momentum. In the fourth quarter of fiscal 2025, the company's revenue of $6.07 billion surpassed the consensus estimate of $5.6 billion, while adjusted earnings per share of $2.30 were better than the consensus estimate of $2.25.
Constellation Energy, however, is not without risks. The company's earnings are sensitive to power price volatility. It is exposed to outage and regulatory risks associated with nuclear operations. Finally, the company is trading at nearly 23.8 times forward earnings, which is quite expensive for a utility stock.
Yet considering its long-term revenue visibility and operational strength, the stock appears a smart pick even at these premium valuation levels.
2. GE Vernova
GE Vernova is a global power and electrification company that builds gas turbines, grid equipment, and wind systems and provides long-term power plant services. The company plays a crucial role in electricity generation and its movement across the grid. Hence, it has become a significant beneficiary of the increasing power demand driven by data centers, AI infrastructure, and electrification.
The company ended 2025 with a contractual backlog of $150 billion, up 25% year over year. Of this, the equipment backlog was worth $64 billion, up 50% year over year. GE Vernova is seeing profitable order growth in its Power and Electrification businesses, driven by accelerating demand and favorable pricing. As these higher-margin orders are delivered over the next few years, they will also boost the company's earnings.
Demand for gas power remains strong. In the fourth quarter, GE Vernova signed contracts tied to 24 gigawatts of new gas turbine capacity, meaning the company's equipment will be used to generate that amount of new electricity at upcoming power plants. By the end of fiscal 2025, GE Vernova's total gas equipment backlog and slot reservations reached 83 gigawatts. That included turbines already ordered as well as customers reserving future manufacturing slots for equipment needed to generate power.
Management expects that backlog to reach 100 gigawatts in 2026. Plus, since new slot reservations are booked at higher pricing levels, this will further boost the company's overall margins.
Beyond equipment sales, GE Vernova has also built a high-margin, recurring, long-term services business. The company exited fiscal 2025 with a power services backlog of $70 billion, associated with turbine maintenance and upgrades.
GE Vernova generated $38 billion in revenues and $3.7 billion in free cash flow in fiscal 2025. The company is guiding for revenue in the range of $44 billion to $45 billion and free cash flow in the range of $5 billion to $5.5 billion for fiscal 2026.
Currently, the shares trade at nearly 37.4 times forward earnings, which is steep. However, considering its strong backlog, improving margin profile, and exposure to long-term electricity demand, I believe the stock is an attractive buy now.

After the Fukushima disaster in 2011, the nuclear energy market suffered a decade-long decline as many countries throttled or suspended their nuclear expansion plans. But over the past few years, the nuclear market has recovered -- thanks to new decarbonization initiatives, safer reactor technologies, and the growing demand for reliable, efficient power.
According to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the world's nuclear capacity could expand by up to 2.6 times from 2024 to 2050. Therefore, it could be the right time to buy these two nuclear energy stocks: NuScale Power (NYSE:SMR) and GE Vernova (NYSE:GEV).

NuScale Power
NuScale Power develops small modular reactors (SMRs) that fit in vessels that are only 65 feet high and nine feet wide. They're prefabricated and assembled on site to reduce the time and costs required to construct a nuclear power plant. It's the only SMR maker with Standard Design Approvals (SDAs) from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), which approved its 50 MWe reactor design in 2023 and its 77 MWe design in 2025.
NuScale once planned to deploy six of its 77 MWe SMRs to build a 462 MWe plant in Idaho, but that project collapsed amid soaring costs in 2023. Today, it primarily serves as a subcontractor to Fluor (NYSE:FLR) in its planned construction of a similar 462 MWe plant for Romania's RoPower.
That project recently received its final investment decision (FID) approval, but the first reactors probably won't come online until the early 2030s. For now, it still generates most of its revenue from the front-end engineering and design (FEED) studies for this project.
NuScale also recently returned to the U.S. by agreeing to deploy up to six gigawatts of SMR capacity across seven states for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). However, the first reactors for that ambitious project probably won't be installed until 2032.
With a market cap of $4 billion, NuScale might seem overvalued at 45 times this year's sales. However, analysts expect its annual revenue to more than triple from $88 million in 2026 to $287 million in 2028 as it expands its FEED studies, transitions some of its memorandums of understanding (MOUs) into binding contracts, and licenses its technology to more companies.
That said, the real growth story could start in the next decade when it finally deploys its first SMRs. When that happens, NuScale could expand and evolve into a much larger nuclear company -- so it might be smart to nibble on its stock today before that happens.
GE Vernova
If NuScale seems a bit too speculative, GE Vernova -- the former energy division of GE (NYSE:GE) that was spun off in 2024 -- might be a more balanced bet.
Last year, over half of its total orders came from its Power segment, which produces gas turbines for combined-cycle plants, steam turbines for coal, gas, and nuclear plants, and services for nuclear power plants. Its Electrification business, which accounted for nearly a third of its 2025 orders, sells transformers, breakers, substations, high-voltage direct current systems, and automation, optimization, and protection services for electrical grids.
Its Power and Electrification businesses both profited from the rapid expansion of the power-hungry cloud, data center, and AI markets over the past year, and that growth offset the slower growth of its smaller Wind business, which sells onshore and offshore wind turbines.
Over the next few years, GE Vernova plans to continue expanding its higher-growth Power and Electrification businesses while right-sizing its weaker Wind business. It definitely isn't a "pure play" nuclear stock like NuScale. Still, it's bigger, better diversified, firmly profitable, and will benefit from the same tech-driven tailwinds for the broader energy market.
From 2025 to 2028, analysts expect GE Vernova's revenue and adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) to grow at CAGRs of 15% and 54%, respectively. With an enterprise value of $217 billion, it might seem a bit pricey at 38 times this year's adjusted EBITDA -- but its core strengths should justify that higher valuation.

There's no denying that technology stocks like Nvidia and Palantir were the powerhouse performers in the early days of the artificial intelligence (AI) trend. As the industry ages, however, new growth opportunities are surfacing. AI data centers are obviously among these newer opportunities.
As investment management firm BlackRock specifies, investors may want to first consider the companies supplying much-needed electricity to these data centers. That's where the most money is apt to be made from here, largely fueled by the 30-fold increase in their power consumption that Deloitte anticipates from U.S. AI data centers between 2024 and 2035.

Here's a closer look at three of the best bets from this segment of the business.
Bloom Energy
One of the most promising aspects of small modular nuclear reactors (or SMRs) is that they can generate electricity right where it's needed, bypassing "the grid's" transmission lines. Although the upfront costs of deploying an SMR are high, in the long run, the option could be quite economical.
The only problem? It can take years to design and install a small-scale nuclear power plant. No such reactors have been deployed commercially in the U.S. yet. Meanwhile, artificial intelligence data centers need power now. Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE) offers something of a stopgap option -- though it could also serve as a permanent solution for data centers.
Bloom Energy's bread-and-butter business is onsite electricity production using hydrogen fuel cells. At one point, this technology was prohibitively expensive and logistically complicated. But as its cost has come down and availability has gone up, Bloom is proving that its clean alternative energy solutions are viable, particularly as site-specific options. Last quarter, it did $778 million worth of business, up 36% year over year, as institutions clamored for cost-effective and immediate answers to their power needs.
Analysts expect Bloom's growth pace to accelerate this year, too. Precedence Research forecasts that the broader solid oxide fuel cell industry will grow at an average annualized pace of nearly 27% through 2034, as this technology becomes more mainstream.
The kicker: Bloom Energy is profitable -- and it's one of the few names in the hydrogen fuel cell business that is. While this stock is outrageously expensive at more than 100 times this year's projected profit of $1.39 per share, this bottom line is expected to more than double next year on a second consecutive year of revenue growth in excess of 50%.
While the stock's lofty valuation has been an understandable near-term concern for some investors, any decent dip would arguably be a buying opportunity for a company that's on course to grow into its premium soon enough.
Constellation Energy
You may be more familiar with Constellation Energy (NASDAQ: CEG) than you think. The company that's working to restart one of the mothballed nuclear reactors at Pennsylvania's Three Mile Island? That's Constellation.
The noteworthy part of the story, however, is why it's doing so. That reactor is being brought back into service to provide electricity for one of Microsoft's nearby AI data centers.
That's still just a sampling of the much bigger investor takeaway from this decision. Mostly, this restart underscores that nuclear power -- once deemed too dangerous as well as environmentally problematic -- is actually back in vogue. The U.S. Department of Energy expects the nation to quadruple its nuclear power output between now and 2050.
More to the point for interested investors, if any one utility company is positioned to capitalize on nuclear's resurgence, it's Constellation Energy. It's already the U.S.'s leading name in nuclear power, with more than two-thirds of the electricity it produces ultimately being generated by nuclear fission. In fact, its nuclear power output is greater than the rest of the country's utility companies combined.
Given all this, it wouldn't be surprising if this particular utility stock performed like a growth stock rather than a value stock for the next several years. Analysts seem to somewhat expect it: Their average price target of $392.89 is more than 25% above the ticker's present price, and that's just a one-year target.
GE Vernova
Last but not least, add GE Vernova (NYSE: GEV) to your list of AI energy stocks to buy sooner rather than later.
Yes, this is one of the three spinoffs of General Electric, which began breaking itself up into more focused operations in 2022. GE Vernova is the former industrial titan's power production arm, selling natural gas turbines, hydropower equipment, nuclear reactors, wind turbines, and the like, as well as electrification solutions like grid optimization and energy storage.
There's nothing AI-specific about any of it. However, since the ongoing proliferation of artificial intelligence data centers is straining power grids in the U.S. and elsewhere, there's no denying that GE Vernova is at least indirectly benefiting from the dynamic behind the opportunity that BlackRock is touting.
The numbers bear this argument out. While GE Vernova's 2025 revenue of $38.1 billion was only 9% better than 2024's top line, total orders raced 34% higher to $59.3 billion, pumping the company's backlog up by $31.2 billion to a whopping $150 billion. That's roughly four years' worth of business lined up just waiting to be fulfilled. More deals will certainly be added in the meantime.
The only real concern here is GE Vernova's capacity to manufacture and deliver its heavy equipment fast enough. Of course, that's not exactly a bearish problem for the stock, particularly given that the company is wisely investing $600 million in factories and facilities over the next couple of years.

1. Deere & Co.
Deere & Co. (NYSE: DE) dominates the market for agricultural machinery and related tools including software, and the company has experienced something of a renaissance this year as it's rightfully being seen as a winner from AI.
Year-to-date, Deere & Co. stock is up 35% as the company is well positioned to capitalize on the AI boom. It's investing in areas like autonomous tractors, AI-powered cameras that can identify weeds and spray herbicide, and predictive maintenance to monitor machinery and reduce downtime.
By doing so, Deere is pivoting to technology while leveraging its brand advantage in a way that a typical software company can't. Its reputation and reach with farmers also make it difficult to displace, as the technology comes with the equipment it sells.
Even after its strong performance this year, Deere & Co. still pulled back last week, losing 5% in part on tariff-related fears. Deere is expensive now at a price-to-earnings ratio of 34, but that valuation seems warranted given the company's potential in AI.
2. GE Vernova
Energy consumption is expected to spike from the AI boom, which puts energy generators in a good position, and GE Vernova (NYSE: GEV) is a leader in the industry.
Like Deere, GE Vernova (NYSE: GEV) has surged this year, up 34% so far. The company manufactures power turbines using a wide range of energy sources, including gas, nuclear, hydro, and wind, making it a valuable partner for data centers and increasing demand for energy from AI.
GE Vernova shares actually rose last week as it seemed to benefit from a well-circulated AI doomsday blog post, as the company stands to benefit from growth in AI.
GE Vernova has delivered mid-teens growth and is premium-priced at a P/E ratio of 50, but it's in a unique position to capitalize on growing energy demand. The stock might not seem like a blue chip as it's only been public since 2024, but its assets were part of the GE conglomerate, and it's soared since GE broke up then.
3. Microsoft
Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) has been one of the biggest victims of the AI-driven software sell-off at least on a market-cap basis, and it pulled back last week as well, falling 1% in a volatile week.
However, Microsoft continues to deliver strong growth, and even if you buy into the AI disruption narrative, the company is much more than just a software business. It has a fast-growing cloud infrastructure business in Azure, Windows, gaming, LinkedIn, and other products, giving it a lot of ways to grow and capitalize on AI. It also owns 27% of OpenAI, giving it a major stake in the most valuable AI start-up.
Microsoft is now down nearly 30% from its peak just a few months ago, setting up an attractive buying opportunity. Its P/E ratio has fallen to 24.5, making it both cheaper than the S&P 500 and one of the cheapest stocks in the "Magnificent Seven."
Microsoft looks poised to continue delivering mid-teens growth, making the stock a good bet to outperform at the current valuation.

GE Vernova's business is soaring
GE Vernova's growth in 2025 was impressive. For the 2025 year, orders were up 34%. The company's backlog grew a whopping $31.2 billion, and revenue increased 9%. GE Vernova's outlook is so strong that the company raised its 2026 guidance and outlook by 2028.

GE Vernova also remains friendly to shareholders as its strong free cash flow (FCF) position has enabled the company to double its quarterly dividend from $0.25 per share to $0.50 per share in 2026. The company also authorized a share buyback increase from $6 billion to $10 billion. All of this is positive news for investors.
Electrification and power at a hefty price
There is a case to be made that the stock is currently overvalued. First, shares of GE Vernova skyrocketed in the past 12 months, shooting up more than 170%. Second, the forward price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio is now over 50, which is tremendously high for a company such as Vernova compared to its peers.
Wind is mostly a disappointing bluster
Then there's the wind segment. GE Vernova's wind business is a light breeze compared to the hurricane force of its power and electrification counterparts. In 2025, Vernova's wind revenue decreased 6%. There's a lot of uncertainty in offshore wind, both with policy changes and project delays due to federal licensing holdups. While the company is focusing on the growth of its other business lines, wind remains a problem.
Should you buy, sell, or hold?
The analyst consensus is essentially that GE Vernova remains a buy. For investors already long GE Vernova, there's absolutely no reason to consider the stock a sell. The growth trajectory of the company is promising, particularly with more than $30 billion in future revenue visibility.
For investors who don't own GE Vernova but are looking to get in, the current valuation isn't super attractive. I'd look to buy any dip, or you could make peace with the premium price, knowing that GE Vernova over the long term is going to reward you.
Although utility and energy companies are often associated with value investing, GE Vernova's dividend yield is only about 0.23%. I think the growth side of the company is far more compelling and appealing to investors seeking long-term stock appreciation.
