The Pentagon has officially cleared a massive $8.6 billion contract for Boeing BA to provide the Israeli Air Force with advanced F-15IA fighter jets. While this multi-billion-dollar deal reinforces Boeing’s status as a critical defense titan, savvy investors might look past the individual stock.
In particular, investors who seek to capitalize on such high-stakes military expansions without being exposed to the volatility of Boeing-specific headwinds may consider defense exchange-traded funds (ETFs), which hold this jet giant alongside other prime contractors and thus offer a diversified gateway to the sector’s tailwinds.
A Detailed Snapshot of the Deal
The recently won contract by Boeing, managed through the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program, involves the production and delivery of 25 new F-15IA aircraft, with an option for 25 more. With the project slated for completion by Dec. 31, 2035, Boeing’s St. Louis facility is secured with a decade-long production runway.
Financially, this contract should bolster the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (“BDS”) segment, which engages in the research, development, production, and modification of manned and unmanned military aircraft. Notably, the BDS unit registered a solid year-over-year revenue increase of nearly 25% in the last reported quarter and is expected to continue delivering such robust performance, supported by contract wins like the $8 billion deal mentioned above.
Defense ETFs Outshine Boeing Stock
While the $8.6 billion F-15IA contract is a massive win for Boeing’s backlog, it comes amid a persistent dilemma for investors. Notably, despite reporting a 25% revenue surge, the BDS unit’s operating profit margin remained razor-thin at just 1.7% during the third quarter of 2025. This follows a brutal 2024, where the segment lost nearly $5 billion due to cost overruns on older fixed-price contracts like the KC-46 tanker and Air Force One.
Amid this backdrop, some investors might still categorize Boeing as a high-risk bet.
In contrast, Defense ETFs offer a more strategic and "profitable" alternative. These funds will allow you to capture the upside of the recent F-15 contract win through exposure to Boeing while also balancing it with industry peers like RTX Corp. RTX or Lockheed Martin LMT who currently boast much healthier margins. Boeing Wins $8B Israel F-15 Deal: Defense ETFs to Watch for Gains

Investors in GE Aerospace (Symbol: GE) saw new options become available today, for the February 2026 expiration. At Stock Options Channel, our YieldBoost formula has looked up and down the GE options chain for the new February 2026 contracts and identified one put and one call contract of particular interest.
The put contract at the $250.00 strike price has a current bid of 50 cents. If an investor was to sell-to-open that put contract, they are committing to purchase the stock at $250.00, but will also collect the premium, putting the cost basis of the shares at $249.50 (before broker commissions). To an investor already interested in purchasing shares of GE, that could represent an attractive alternative to paying $309.93/share today.
Because the $250.00 strike represents an approximate 19% discount to the current trading price of the stock (in other words it is out-of-the-money by that percentage), there is also the possibility that the put contract would expire worthless. The current analytical data (including greeks and implied greeks) suggest the current odds of that happening are 93%. Considering the call seller will also collect the premium, that would drive a total return (excluding dividends, if any) of 6.31% if the stock gets called away at the February 2026 expiration (before broker commissions). Of course, a lot of upside could potentially be left on the table if GE shares really soar, which is why looking at the trailing twelve month trading history for GE Aerospace, as well as studying the business fundamentals becomes important. Considering the fact that the $320.00 strike represents an approximate 3% premium to the current trading price of the stock (in other words it is out-of-the-money by that percentage), there is also the possibility that the covered call contract would expire worthless, in which case the investor would keep both their shares of stock and the premium collected. The current analytical data (including greeks and implied greeks) suggest the current odds of that happening are 57%. Defense stocks, particularly those with European exposure, fell sharply on Dec 15, 2025 (as reported by CNBC), after President Zelenskyy indicated that Ukraine is willing to forgo its long-term NATO membership bid in exchange for security guarantees.
This news, while sparking hopes of progress toward a peace framework, cooled near-term demand expectations for Europe’s arms makers, resulting in share price dips.
For investors, this pullback opens a classic buy-the-dip window in diversified defense exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that spread risk across U.S. and European names instead of relying on a handful of single stock bets. Diversified ETFs allow exposure to structurally rising defense budgets, NATO’s higher spending targets, and ongoing geopolitical flashpoints while cushioning idiosyncratic drawdowns in individual stocks.

This surely underpins multi year revenue visibility for the entire defense sector.
One must also consider the fact that the Ukraine conflict is just one facet of a world where geopolitical tensions are intensifying globally with each passing day. Concurrent pressures in the Indo-Pacific and the Middle East are driving allied nations like Japan, South Korea, and Gulf states to similarly bolster their military capabilities.
This creates a diversified global demand base for leading defense contractors, such as Lockheed Martin LMT, RTX Corp. RTX, and Northrop Grumman NOC, which rely on multi-year government contracts, providing strong revenue visibility and order backlogs that insulate them from short-term market fluctuations. Its top three holdings include renowned defense contractors Airbus EADSY (19.05%), Rolls-Royce RYCEY (18.42%) and Safran SAFRY (18.25%).

Noteworthy ETF Inflows: XLI, GE, RTX, BA

Reshoring and the drive for supply-chain independence are transforming U.S. manufacturing, as more companies move production back to domestic locations. In recent years, several factors, including the post-pandemic supply-chain vulnerabilities, trade-disputes, geopolitical tensions along with President Trump’s recent tariff policies, have been fueling this business reshoring momentum.
With the imposition of import tariffs on steel, aluminum, semiconductors and other products, along with the presence of stringent sourcing rules, offshore production has become expensive for manufacturing companies. In response, companies have been moving production back to domestic locations to stabilize supply chains and evade tariffs. Also, the growing popularity of additive manufacturing and AI-driven business optimization across the US is lowering operational costs, making domestic production competitive.
Favorable U.S. government policies, including the CHIPS & Science Act and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), have also been encouraging steady investments in specific sectors like semiconductors, clean-energy and battery manufacturing.
This is fueling demand for advanced tools, factory equipment and transportation assets while lifting related industries such as machinery, logistics, power and energy. Reflecting this momentum, the S&P 500 Industrials Select Sector SPDR (XLI) has gained 19.3% so far this year.
Amid this development, we have discussed three stocks engaged in reshoring manufacturing operations, such as GE Aerospace GE, Caterpillar Inc. CAT and EnerSys ENS. These companies are actively engaged in reshoring their manufacturing activities and are expected to enter 2026 with strong growth potential.
These stocks are considered safer bets with market capitalization of more than $1 billion, as stocks with larger market capitalization can better withstand market downturns. Additionally, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for 2026 earnings has also been revised upward, highlighting their likely strong performance next year.
3 Reshoring Stocks in Focus for 2026
Caterpillar has been actively pursuing its reshoring strategy since it shifted its construction equipment production facilities from Japan to Georgia and Texas. This has helped the company to streamline its supply chain, reduce transit times and boost delivery capacities in North America. As part of its capital expansion plan, Caterpillar recently announced its plan to invest $725 million in its engine manufacturing facility in Lafayette, IN. The investment will focus on enhancing the facility’s workforce skills and catering to the rising demand for power generation engines.
As technology companies establish data centers globally to support their generative AI applications, Caterpillar is witnessing robust order levels for reciprocating engines for data centers. Sales will improve in transportation, courtesy of an increase in rail services driven by international locomotives. Growth in Marine as customers update aging fleets and growth in industrial will also drive its performance.
In the past year, CAT’s shares have surged 60.6%, outperforming the industry’s 58.4% growth. In the past 60 days, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for Caterpillar’s 2025 and 2026 earnings has increased 3.9% and 4.2%, respectively. EnerSys announced its strategic restructuring plan to boost manufacturing productivity and focus more on its higher-performance battery technologies like Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) and lithium-ion. The realignment plan involves ENS ceasing operations in its flooded lead-acid battery manufacturing plant based in Monterrey, Mexico. EnerSys will move the production to its manufacturing facility in Richmond, KY. The move will allow the company to mitigate risks related to any future potential tariffs, maximize IRC 45X tax benefits and make its cost structure optimal.
In the long run, EnerSys is positioned to benefit from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). The company expects most of its TPPL products and some portion of high-density traditional flooded lead acid batteries to qualify for the proposed tax credits. EnerSys aims to invest the IRA tax credits to expand its high-density battery portfolio.
In the past year, ENS’ shares have risen 62.6% compared with the industry’s 2.6% growth. In the past 60 days, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for EnerSys’ fiscal 2026 (ending March 2026) and fiscal 2027 (ending March 2027) earnings has been revised up by 5.3% and 6.9%, respectively. For fiscal 2027, this Zacks Rank #2 stock is expected to report earnings growth of 20.7% on 3% revenue growth.

For 2025, the company remains on track to invest $1 billion in U.S. manufacturing and supply chain to boost production capabilities, upgrade equipment and cater to the growing demand for its engines and services. These investments are enabling GE Aerospace to boost its operational capacities, introduce new technologies to further reduce turnaround time and costs and provide better services to its commercial and defense customers.
This new investment accounts for almost double the commitment it made in the previous year and focuses on enhancing its engine quality, safety and delivery. This has also been creating about 5,000 U.S. jobs, including engineering and manufacturing roles. Some of its major facilities where GE is making investments include the likes of Greater Cincinnati, Muskegon, Durham, West Jefferson, Lynn and Madisonville.
In the past year, GE’s shares have soared 87.5%, outperforming the industry's 32.6% growth. In the past 60 days, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for GE Aerospace’s 2025 and 2026 earnings has improved 0.5% and 0.1%, respectively.
