UBS Group AG UBS reported a first-quarter 2026 net profit attributable to shareholders of $3.04 billion compared with $1.69 billion in the prior-year quarter.
Results were driven by the strong performances of the Global Wealth Management, Asset Management and Investment Bank divisions. An increase in total assets was also encouraging. However, higher operating expenses acted as a headwind.
UBS' Revenues & Expenses
The company’s first-quarter total revenues increased 13.4% year over year to $14.24 billion.
Operating expenses rose slightly year over year to $10.33 billion.
UBS Group reported total credit loss expenses of $70 million, which declined 30% from the year-ago quarter.
UBS Group Business Divisions’ Performances
Global Wealth Management’s operating profit before tax was $1.79 billion, up from $1.36 billion in the year-ago quarter.
Asset Management’s operating profit before tax was $217 million, up 60.7% from the year-ago quarter.
Personal & Corporate Banking reported operating profit before tax of $1.04 billion, up from $607 million in the year-ago quarter.
The Investment Bank unit reported an operating profit before tax of $1.21 billion, up from $722 million in the year-ago quarter.
Non-Core & Legacy incurred an operating loss before tax of $155 million in the reported quarter compared with a loss of $391 million in the year-ago quarter.
Group Items reported an operating loss before tax of $258 million compared with a loss of $299 million in the year-ago quarter.
UBS's Capital Position
Total assets rose 4.3% from the previous quarter’s end to $1.69 trillion.
UBS’s return on Common Equity Tier 1 (CET1) capital was 16.8% as of March 31, 2026, compared with 9.6% as of March 31, 2025.
The risk-weighted assets rose 3.5% year over year to $500.3 billion.
The CET1 capital rose 6% year over year to $73.3 billion. As of March 31, 2026, UBS's invested assets were $6.9 trillion, up 11.8% year over year.
UBS Group’s Capital Distribution Update
In the first quarter of 2026, UBS repurchased $0.9 billion worth of shares and remains on track to complete $3 billion in share repurchases by the end of July 2026, with an aim to do more by the end of the year.
The extent of additional buybacks will depend on the company’s financial performance and outlook, as well as its ability to maintain a CET1 capital ratio of around 14% at year-end. Clarity on parliamentary deliberations regarding the treatment of foreign subsidiaries will also be a key factor.
UBS Progresses With Credit Suisse Integration Plan
With the completion of the Swiss client account migration in March 2026, UBS has finalized the global migration of former Credit Suisse client accounts onto its infrastructure, marking a key integration milestone.
This achievement signals the start of the final phase of integration, including the decommissioning of legacy IT infrastructure, which will be carried out over the remainder of the year. The company remains on track to substantially complete the integration by the end of 2026.
In the first quarter of 2026, UBS realized an additional $0.8 billion in gross cost savings. Cumulative gross cost savings reached $11.5 billion at the end of the quarter compared with the combined 2022 cost base of UBS and Credit Suisse.
The company continues to target approximately $13.5 billion in annualized exit rate gross cost savings by the end of 2026. Management expects cumulative integration-related expenses to be around $15 billion by the end of 2026, assuming constant foreign-exchange rates.
As of March 31, 2026, the Non-core and Legacy division has delivered a 67% reduction in risk-weighted assets (RWA) since the second quarter of 2023. UBS has achieved its target of reducing credit and market risk RWA to around $4 billion, in line with its year-end 2026 ambition.
Additionally, the company has achieved an 84% reduction in underlying operating expenses (excluding litigation) compared with the 2022 baseline.

ICICI Bank Ltd.’s IBN profit after tax for fourth-quarter fiscal 2026 (ended March 31) was INR137.02 billion ($1.50 billion), up 8.5% from the prior-year quarter.
IBN’s results were aided by growth in net interest income and non-interest income. A decline in provisions was a tailwind. However, higher operating expenses, along with a treasury loss, hurt results to some extent.

UBS Group Q1 Earnings & Revenues Rise Y/Y Despite Higher Expenses

(RTTNews) - German lender Deutsche Bank AG (DBK.DE, DBK.MI, DB) reported Wednesday higher profit in its first quarter, with increased net revenues.
Looking ahead for fiscal 2026, the company noted that first-quarter performance in line with expectations, providing a solid step-off point for the bank's full-year 2026 revenue ambition of 33 billion euros.
The company is on track to deliver strong operating performance in 2026.
In the first quarter, profit attributable to shareholders grew 8 percent to 1.91 billion euros from last year's 1.78 billion euros. Earnings per share rose 7 percent to 1.06 euros from prior year's 0.99 euro.
Profit before tax was 3.04 billion euros, up 7 percent from 2.84 billion euros a year ago.
Provision for credit losses grew 10 percent from last year to 519 million euros, while noninterest expenses fell 2 percent to 5.11 billion euros.
Total net revenues increased 2 percent to 8.67 billion euros from 8.52 billion euros last year, driven by focused growth areas. Revenues grew 6 percent excluding forex.
Assets under management or AuM were 1.8 trillion euros, up 146 billion euros from last year, including net inflows of 22 billion euros across Private Bank and Asset Management.

Deutsche Bank Q1 Profit Rises; On Track For Strong Operating Profit, Revenues In FY26

One day after Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA) published its latest set of quarterly results, an analyst's downgrade put the hurt on the stock. It suffered a nearly 13% decline on Friday, in sharp contrast to the healthy gain it posted on earnings day.
Time for a downgrade
Comcast scored a double beat on the consensus pundit estimates for its first quarter, but not all of those analysts were impressed by the feat. Before market open Friday, Deutsche Bank's Bryan Craft downgraded his recommendation on the media company's stock to hold from his preceding buy. He also shaved his price target to $34 per share from $35.

According to reports, Craft's new view is based on his reduced estimates for earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) and free cash flow (FCF) from 2027 onward. While he acknowledged that Comcast did better than many expected in that inaugural quarter, he doubts this can be repeated across the coming periods.
Craft cited stiff competition in the broadband segment as another headwind, and said that with its recent price appreciation, the company's stock wasn't as compelling as it was previously.
Not the biggest fish in the sea
Media stocks can be very up-and-down, and with the recent Paramount Skydance blockbuster deal for Warner Bros. Discovery, we're in one of the more volatile times.
Comcast is now looking like something of a minnow next to the whale that will be the combined Skydance/Warner Bros. And despite a presence in the theme parks segment (with its Universal parks), I don't think it's differentiated enough to be compelling at its current valuations. I wouldn't be a buyer of the stock.

Shares of e.l.f Beauty (NYSE: ELF) got crushed in March's trading. The cosmetics specialist's stock fell 34.2% in a month that saw strong bearish momentum for the broader market. The S&P 500 index fell 5.1% across the stretch, and the Nasdaq Composite declined 4.8%.
The stock market faced pressures connected to the war in Iran last month, and e.l.f. Beauty saw outsized sell-offs. The stock also saw pullbacks in conjunction with new coverage from analysts.

The Iran war and analyst coverage created significant pressures
The U.S. and Israel's war with Iran kicked off at the end of February and roiled the stock market in March. In addition to the general surge for bearish sentiment created by the war, the conflict also had some business-specific implications for e.l.f. Beauty.
As a result of the war, Iran effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz -- a key shipping line for oil. The development caused a surge in global crude oil prices that created ripple effects across various industries.
Some of e.l.f. Beauty's products include petrochemicals as key ingredients, and rising oil prices can be expected to increase production costs for the company. As a result, the company's share price faced much stronger bearish pressures than the broader market last month.
Making matters worse, Piper Sandler published new coverage on the company on March 9 and stated that its analysis showed that consumption of the company's products in February had come in between flat and down 5% when compared to January's levels. Canaccord then published a note on the stock on March 26 and lowered its one-year price target from $136 per share to $121 per share, although it maintained a buy rating on the stock overall. Deutsche Bank then published its own coverage on the company on March 30, lowering its price target from $95 per share to $68 per share and maintaining a hold rating on the stock.
e.l.f. Beauty stock has moved higher in April
Following last month's huge sell-off, e.l.f. Beauty has seen some recovery momentum in April's trading. The company's share price is up 5.3% in the month as of this writing. Across the same stretch, the S&P 500 is up 3.7%, and the Nasdaq Composite is up 4.8%.
The stock market has been moving higher this month thanks to indications that the Iran war is de-escalating. President Donald Trump announced yesterday that Iran had agreed to a two-week ceasefire and reopening the Strait of Hormuz as negotiations proceed. While that's definitely a positive development for e.l.f. stock and the market at large, investors should understand that there is still a significant risk that the situation could deteriorate.

So why isn't XRP benefiting? Because most of Ripple's wins don't actually involve XRP.
The core disconnect
This is the core disconnect that XRP bulls have struggled with for years. Ripple, a closely held company, has genuine enterprise traction, but its most widely adopted product -- what was called RippleNet -- functions primarily as a messaging layer and doesn't require banks to touch XRP, and most don't.
Ripple's liquidity feature -- what was called On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) -- is the primary way in which institutions make use of XRP. Except that Ripple's stablecoin, RLUSD, introduced at the end of 2024, can now be used in its place.
The bottom line
Ripple's business has never looked stronger. But that strength isn't flowing to XRP, and that's likely to continue. I wouldn't invest in XRP -- although I know plenty of people would disagree with me.

XRP Has Fallen More Than 60% -- and Ripple's Success Won't Save It

Shares of Deutsche Bank AG DB fell nearly 7% yesterday as the company disclosed that its private credit portfolio increased to €25.9 billion (nearly $30 billion) in 2025, underscoring growing investor concern about risks accumulating in the rapidly expanding sector. According to the bank’s 2025 annual report, Deutsche Bank’s private credit portfolio exposure reflects a 6% year-on-year expansion, positioning the German lender among the banks with some of the largest links to the booming private credit industry.
Deutsche Bank said its underwriting remains conservative and emphasized that it does not currently face “significant direct risks.” Still, the bank acknowledged that it could experience indirect credit risks through interconnected portfolios and counterparties in the wider private credit ecosystem.
Another area of growing exposure is the technology sector, particularly loans linked to software companies. The bank’s loan exposure to the technology sector, including software, reached €15.8 billion ($18.2 billion) at amortized cost in 2025, up from €11.7 billion ($13.5 billion) in the previous year.
Private credit has grown into a nearly $2 trillionglobal market attracting institutional investors seeking higher yields. However, concerns about private credit intensified due to concerns about weak underwriting standards, lack of transparency, and rising borrower leverage. Some private credit funds have faced redemption pressures, while certain lenders have reported loan markdowns and credit quality concerns.
This week, JPMorgan JPM decided to mark down some private-credit loans. JPM has reduced the value of certain loans held as collateral by private-credit groups, particularly software-related exposures, and is accordingly limiting how much it will lend against those assets. The move underscores how banks are becoming more cautious about the quality and liquidity of private loans as pressure rises on sectors seen as vulnerable to artificial-intelligence (AI) disruption and weaker economic conditions.
Strains are also emerging across the broader alternative-asset industry, including companies like BlackRock BLK and Blackstone BX. Recently, BlackRock limited withdrawals from a flagship private-credit fund after redemptions surged. On the other hand, Blackstone announced a rise in its redemption cap from 5% to 7% after facing a jump in investor requests. This highlights how quickly confidence can be tested when investors want cash back at the same time.
To conclude, the disclosure of Deutsche Bank’s sizable private-credit exposure shows that sentiment around the fast-growing asset class can shift at any time. Despite flagging the risks related to private credit, Deutsche Bank said it plans to expand its business within the sector, aiming to broaden distribution through selective regional growth and by developing new investment products and digital solutions alongside its private bank.

1. Robinhood Markets
Robinhood operates an online trading platform designed for younger investors. With nearly twice the number of millennial and Gen Z accounts as its closest competitor (Vanguard), the company is well positioned for growth as the population matures. Millennials and Gen Z are forecast to inherit over $100 trillion in assets from baby boomers in coming decades.
Robinhood is already gaining market share in most brokerage service categories, including cryptocurrency, equities, margin lending, and options. Also, the company has rapidly gained share in prediction markets, which rank as its fastest-growing product line by revenue. Until recently, Robinhood only partnered with prediction exchanges like Kalshi, but it has since doubled-down on the opportunity by acquiring its own exchange.
Robinhood is also trying to capitalize on the artificial intelligence (AI) boom with Cortex, an investing assistant that summarizesmarket news analyst ratings, and research reports. Cortex is exclusively available to users with a Gold membership, which costs $5 per month or $50 per year. "Our goal is for Robinhood to give you a world-class financial team in your pocket, with cutting-edge tools you can't find anywhere else," said CEO Vlad Tenev.
Robinhood stock is down 50% from its high, partially because cryptocurrency transaction volume dropped in the fourth quarter as investors have become overwhelmingly bearish. But Wall Street expects adjusted earnings to increase at 20% annually through 2027, and that makes the current valuation of 36 times earnings look reasonable.
I doubt Robinhood will deliver triple-digit returns during the next year, unless investor sentiment surrounding cryptocurrency improves substantially, but the current valuation is still an attractive entry point for long-term investors. 2. Circle Internet Group
Circle is a fintech company that mints stablecoins and provides developer tools that let businesses integrate blockchain payments into applications. The company is best known for USDC, a stablecoin that tracks the U.S. dollar. While it is the second-largest stablecoin by market value, it is the largest stablecoin that fully complies with regulations in the U.S. and Europe.
Circle primarily earns revenue from interest on reserve assets (i.e., the fiat currency held in reserve to back its stablecoins). But the company has expanded into payments with the Circle Payments Network (CPN), which is designed to be faster and cheaper than traditional cross-border payment systems. Multinational companies may find the CPN particularly valuable for payroll, supplier payments, and treasury management.
Presently, the stablecoin market is worth about $315 billion. But several experts estimate that figure will soar to $2 trillion by 2030, which implies annual grow of 45%. Some experts are even more optimistic. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent thinks the stablecoin market could hit $3 trillion by 2030, implying annual growth of 57%.
In November, Circle estimated USDC in circulation would increase at 40% annually over the next several years, which suggests reserve income (i.e., revenue from interest) could grow faster than 30% annually during that period. But total revenue could increase more quickly if the CPN gains traction as a cross-border payment system.
Wall Street estimates revenue will increase at 33% annually through 2027, which makes the current valuation of 5.8 times sales look quite reasonable. I doubt the stock will deliver triple-digit returns in the next year unless market sentiment on cryptocurrency improves. But the stock appears undervalued. Among 27 analysts, Circle has a median target price of $107 per share, implying 73% upside from the current share price of $62.

RTX’s shares have outperformed the Zacks Aerospace - Defense industry over the past six months (+29.2% vs. +11.7%). The company’s fourth-quarter 2025 earnings and revenues beat estimates. It continues to receive ample orders for its wide range of combat-proven defense products from the Pentagon and its foreign allies.
Steadily improving global commercial air traffic boosts the company's sales. Strong volumes and a favorable mix across large commercial engines and Pratt Canada operations are expected to support the company’s growth momentum in the commercial aerospace market. This resulted in RTX registering a backlog of $268 billion as of Dec. 31, 2025.
Yet, the uncertainties created by the recent imposition of U.S. government-issued import tariffs pose a risk for RTX. Supply-chain challenges continue to affect the aerospace sector, which may adversely impact RTX.

Shares of IBM have gained +10.8% over the past six months against the Zacks Computer - Integrated Systems industry’s gain of +61.4%. The company reported strong fourth-quarter 2025 results, with adjusted earnings and revenues beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate. Strength in hybrid cloud, AI-powered automation, and enterprise consulting is driving growth in the Software and Consulting segment.
IBM is gaining traction on the Watsonx platform, which is likely to be its core technology platform for AI capabilities. The company’s focus on quantum technology for solutions to complex problems beyond the reach of classical computing is a tailwind. Collaboration with Microsoft to expand consulting capabilities is a positive.
However, weakness in its traditional business and foreign exchange volatility remain concerns. Macroeconomic headwinds are worrisome. IBM’s acquisition spree has also escalated integration risks, while its high debt level is burdensome.

EVI’s shares have outperformed the Zacks Industrial Services industry over the past year (+24.4% vs. +4.9%). This microcap company with a market capitalization of $269.33 million delivered solid top-line momentum, with revenues rising 24% in the December quarter and 20% for the first six months of FY26, alongside gross margin expansion to ~31%. Improved mix, pricing discipline and operating leverage are enhancing earnings quality.
Fiscal 2025 acquisitions contributed $40 million in revenues and $2 million in net income year to date. Operating cash flow improved to $5.1 million despite a $12.6 million inventory build, while a growing installed base and $9.7 million in lease receivables provide recurring service visibility.
However, earnings conversion remains pressured: net income dipped to $4.2 million as SG&A rose 26%, outpacing revenue growth. Inventory increased to $78 million, elevating working capital and demand-risk exposure. Debt rose to $58 million under a variable-rate facility, increasing sensitivity to higher rates. Shares trade at 0.83X EV/Sales and 16.32X EV/EBITDA.

This microcap company with market capitalization of $25.76 million, is working on margin-first execution which is driving structural recovery — manufacturing gross margin rose to 21.4% from 10%, EBITDA turned positive, operating losses narrowed sharply and cash burn improved.
Franchise royalties are growing, tech upgrades enhance efficiency and cocoa tailwinds support margins. Current valuation reflects skepticism around liquidity and execution risk, but offers meaningful upside potential if margin recovery, deleveraging and sustained profitability gains are achieved.
However, Rocky Mountain faces near-term liquidity and covenant risk, with $0.6 million cash, continued operating losses, high-cost 12% debt and reliance on external funding. Elevated leverage and $3.4 million corporate overhead offset segment profit, while manufacturing revenue declines and franchise rationalization pressure scale. Retail expansion adds capital intensity.

Deutsche Bank AG DB is set to expand its emerging markets private banking operations, according to a Reuters report, which was published in Yahoo Finance. The German bank intends to add up to 50 relationship managers this year within its Private Bank’s emerging markets unit. Its selective hiring is expected to continue through 2027 and 2028, though management did not disclose region-specific headcount figures yet.
The move forms part of a broader plan to increase front-office headcount in the emerging markets franchise by 50% over the next three years. A significant portion of the 250 bankers previously announced under Deutsche Bank’s wider wealth expansion strategy are likely to be allocated to this segment.
DB Capturing Growing Wealth in Gulf & North Asia
The hiring push reflects Deutsche Bank’s effort to capitalize on expanding wealth pools across the Gulf and North Asia, where ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients are increasingly seeking geographic and asset-class diversification. This trend reflects growing demand for cross-border wealth management amid geopolitical uncertainty and market volatility.
The expansion also aligns with broader industry trends, with global financial firms like The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. GS and Barclays PLC BCS pursuing similar strategies in emerging markets. According to Boston Consulting Group’s Global Wealth Report 2025, the global financial wealth reached a record $305 trillion in 2024, reinforcing the long-term structural opportunity in wealth management.
In line with this trend, GS launched an onshore private wealth management presence in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, targeting ultra-wealthy clients in October 2025. Earlier, in November 2024, BCS announced plans to establish a new private banking booking center in Singapore by 2026, aimed at expanding its Asia footprint and serving ultra-high-net-worth and global family office clients.
DB Plans to Scale Lombard Lending Capabilities
Alongside relationship manager hiring, Deutsche Bank is sharpening its focus on Lombard lending, a product that allows private banking clients to borrow against their investment portfolios.
The clients are moderately increasing leverage, reflecting growing interest in Lombard lending. Management views Lombard lending as an area of rising demand and intends to further scale capabilities in this segment.
The expansion of Deutsche Bank’s emerging markets franchise complements its Global Hausbank strategy, which prioritizes capital-light, fee-generating businesses such as wealth management. As of Dec. 31, 2025, these businesses contributed nearly 67.5% of total revenues. The bank further targets a net revenue compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of above 5% through 2028, driven by these fee-based, capital-light operations.
By strengthening coverage in high-growth wealth markets and expanding lending solutions for affluent clients, Deutsche Bank is positioning its Private Bank business to contribute more meaningfully to its medium-term revenue growth and return targets through 2028.
Building on this strategic expansion, the bank reaffirmed its target post-tax return on tangible equity above 13% by 2028 and expects the cost/income ratio to decline below 60%. The CET1 capital ratio is also projected to remain within the 13.5%–14% range, supporting sustainable shareholder distributions, including a 60% payout ratio. While incremental investments and higher compensation costs may weigh on near-term earnings, the bank’s diversified deposit base and structural reforms are expected to support steady medium-term growth.
