Visa is entering the stablecoin arena
Visa's banking partners will soon be able to settle their obligations in Circle's fully reserved, dollar-denominated stablecoin, USDC (CRYPTO: USDC). The new settlement offering promises faster fund transfers via blockchain technology, with availability on weekends and holidays, and with no change to the card user experience.
"Visa is delivering a reliable, bank‑ready capability that improves treasury efficiency while maintaining the security, compliance, and resiliency standards our network requires," Visa executive Rubail Birwadker said in a press release.
Cross River Bank and Lead Bank will serve as the initial banking partners for the new settlement service. Visa intends to roll out the offering to more of its clients in 2026.
The stablecoin story takes a new arc
Visa is also working with Circle to design Arc, a highly scalable new Layer 1 blockchain. Visa intends to operate a validator node and use Arc for USDC settlement once the network goes live.
The digital payments titan also noted that its annualized stablecoin settlement volume has already surpassed $3.5 billion.

Klarna Group plc KLAR recently made a big move into the future of shopping by unveiling its Agentic Product Protocol, an open standard that lets artificial intelligence agents instantly find and understand products online. Klarna's Agentic Shift: When AI Goes Shopping, KLAR Will be the Guide

Visa Inc. V just launched a new global Stablecoins Advisory Practice through its Visa Consulting & Analytics division to help banks, fintechs, merchants and other businesses navigate the fast-growing world of stablecoins. This is a consulting and strategy service that gives clients tailored guidance on market fit, technology implementation, go-to-market planning and regulatory trends for stablecoin initiatives. It also includes training programs and a new Visa University course aimed at deepening understanding of digital money and blockchain-based payment systems.
Visa isn’t fighting the disruptive force; it is becoming the enabler. It pointed out that the global stablecoin market has surpassed a $250 billion capitalization, and its own stablecoin settlement volume has accelerated to a $3.5 billion annualized run rate as of Nov. 30. Participants in the advisory program include institutions such as Navy Federal Credit Union, VyStar and Pathward, which used the practice to evaluate stablecoin use cases and strategy.
This move signals that traditional financial infrastructure leaders are taking digital assets seriously. Stablecoins promise faster, cheaper settlement and smoother cross-border payments compared with legacy rails, and Visa wants to be the trusted guide for companies entering this space. This will enhance Visa’s value-added service offerings.
For Visa, the advisory practice could deepen client relationships, unlock new consulting revenues and accelerate adoption of stablecoin-linked services across its ecosystem. By helping partners build stablecoin strategies, Visa also strengthens its role at the intersection of regulated finance and digital-asset innovation, a strategic edge as payments continue evolving worldwide.
Rivals’ Positions in the Stablecoin Race
Peers like Mastercard Incorporated MA and American Express Company AXP are also expanding their footprint in the stablecoin space.
In April 2025, Mastercard rolled out full-stack support for stablecoin payments, covering issuance, acceptance and settlement. It also became part of the Paxos-backed Global Dollar Network, enabling member institutions to mint, redeem and distribute the USDG stablecoin within that ecosystem. American Express has taken a different path, teaming up with Coinbase to launch a crypto-linked credit card that offers rewards connected to digital asset activity. Compared with peers, AmEx is moving cautiously on stablecoins and broader blockchain initiatives amid evolving regulatory and market conditions.

Visa is Shaping the Stablecoin Playbook: Disrupting the Disruption

(RTTNews) - Visa Inc. (V) announced the launch of USDC settlement in the United States. The company said U.S. issuer and acquirer partners can settle with Visa in Circle's USDC, a fully reserved, dollar-denominated stablecoin. With USDC settlement, issuers can benefit from faster funds movement over blockchains, seven-day availability and enhanced operational resilience across weekends and holidays.
Initial banking participants include Cross River Bank and Lead Bank, which have started settling with Visa in USDC over the Solana blockchain. Broader availability in the U.S. is planned through 2026.

Visa Unveils Stablecoin Settlement In The U.S.

In early trading on Monday, shares of Goldman Sachs Group topped the list of the day's best performing Dow Jones Industrial Average components, trading up 1.6%. Year to date, Goldman Sachs Group registers a 57.6% gain.
And the worst performing Dow component thus far on the day is Salesforce, trading down 1.1%. Salesforce is lower by about 22.4% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Visa, trading down 0.7%, and Amgen, trading up 1.4% on the day.

Earlier this year, Warren Buffett announced that he would step down as chief executive officer of Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK.A) (NYSE: BRK.B) after six decades at the helm of the company. If investors didn't think the times were changing then, they likely know now. Recently, Berkshire announced a major shake-up to its core management group. Todd Combs, who joined Berkshire in 2010 and managed a portion of Berkshire's enormous $312 billion equities portfolio, is leaving the company.

A new Berkshire era is upon us
When Buffett, who is now 95 years old, announced that he would step down, he also appointed Greg Abel, vice chair of Berkshire's non-insurance operations and chair of Berkshire Hathaway Energy, as the new CEO.
Nobody expects Abel to ever fill the large shoes left by Buffett, who will likely go down as the greatest investor of all time. However, there have been many questions about how Abel would lead the company, especially given Berkshire's relatively conservative approach in recent years, which included building a huge hoard of cash. Investors just got their first clue, with a slew of management changes:
NetJets CEO Adam Johnson will become president of the consumer products, service, and retailing businesses of Berkshire Hathaway, effective immediately, while continuing in his role at NetJets.
Nancy Pierce, the current chief operating officer of GEICO, will become CEO of GEICO.
Berkshire's senior vice president and chief financial officer, Marc Hamburg, will retire from Berkshire on June 1, 2027, after 40 years of service. Charles Chang, the current CFO of Berkshire Hathaway Energy, will replace Hamburg upon retirement.
Michael O'Sullivan will become senior vice president and general counsel, starting on Jan. 1. O'Sullivan comes to Berkshire from Snap, where he served as the general counsel. This is a new role at Berkshire.
However, arguably the most notable change is the departure of Combs, who, in addition to managing a portion of Berkshire's investment portfolio, was also the CEO of GEICO.
Combs, who previously served on JPMorgan Chase's board of directors, is leaving to join the U.S.'s largest bank. He will run JPMorgan's new $10 billion Strategic Investment Group, which will invest in companies to "enhance their growth, spur innovation and accelerate manufacturing, primarily in the United States." Over time, JPMorgan plans to commit a whopping $1.5 trillion to bolster economic growth.
Based on most media reports, Combs appears to have made the decision to leave Berkshire independently. A significant change in the CEO of a company can prompt people to reassess their positions within a company and in life. It is widely believed that Combs and Ted Weschler, another of Berkshire's investing lieutenants, managed about 10% of Berkshire's portfolio. The two are also believed to have been responsible in large Berkshire investments such as Sirius XM Holdings, DaVita, Kroger, Visa, VeriSign, and Amazon, according to Barrons.
In losing Combs, Berkshire loses one of its key utility players. Not only did Combs play a big role in Berkshire's investments, he also ran GEICO, the company's largest insurance brand. Combs is also only 54 years old, which, in the corporate world of executives, is relatively young.
How does this bode for the stock?
It's ultimately tough to say right now. Some turnover amid a CEO change is always normal, and Berkshire's CEO change is the ultimate regime change. In the near term, it is likely to raise questions, such as whether Weschler will remain with the company. Investors who bought the stock for Buffett are likely to be a little concerned, because the easiest transition would have been the minimal change possible.
These changes are also likely to place a greater spotlight on Abel, who will now bear more of the praise and blame for the decisions he makes. In the near term, Berkshire may need to prove itself a bit and may no longer be viewed as the haven investment it once was.
However, investors should still be confident in Abel as a capital allocator. After all, Buffett hand-picked him to run the company. In addition, Berkshire's businesses have built strong moats that are difficult to replicate at this point. Long term, I am not worried about the stock, but it may experience some transitional pain as investors adjust to living without Buffett's reassuring presence at the top.

Top Analyst Reports for Visa, Charles Schwab & Amphenol

Visa (V) shares rallied 6.1% in the last trading session to close at $345.63. This move can be attributable to notable volume with a higher number of shares being traded than in a typical session. This compares to the stock's 3.9% loss over the past four weeks.
Shares of Visa climbed yesterday after Bank of America upgraded the stock and pushed back on concerns that stablecoins pose a threat. Instead, they view stablecoins as a long-term catalyst as Visa continues integrating rails to accelerate global payouts. The recent stretch of underperformance in V has also opened an attractive entry point. The broader rotation out of tech and into financial stocks also added support, helping Visa regain momentum.
This global payments processor is expected to post quarterly earnings of $3.14 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of +14.2%. Revenues are expected to be $10.68 billion, up 12.3% from the year-ago quarter.
While earnings and revenue growth expectations are important in evaluating the potential strength in a stock, empirical research shows a strong correlation between trends in earnings estimate revisions and near-term stock price movements.
For Visa, the consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has been revised marginally higher over the last 30 days to the current level. And a positive trend in earnings estimate revision usually translates into price appreciation. Strength Seen in Visa (V): Can Its 6.1% Jump Turn into More Strength?

Klarna Group plc KLAR recently announced a new research partnership with Privy, a wallet infrastructure platform owned by Stripe, to explore and co-design a simple and secure cryptocurrency wallet aimed at everyday users. This initiative follows Klarna’s launch of its own stablecoin, KlarnaUSD, in November 2025.
The goal of the latest partnership is to make it much easier for millions of people to store, send and transact digital assets using Klarna’s financial ecosystem. The collaboration will involve joint research and development of innovative products. Privy’s technology already powers more than 100 million accounts and supports major crypto platforms, giving Klarna access to scalable infrastructure. It is expected to leverage its existing user base to bring crypto into mainstream financial life. Final products and features will still need regulatory approvals before launch.
This move signals fintech firms pushing crypto beyond niche trading and into everyday finance. Instead of catering only to early adopters, Klarna is working to make digital assets feel as intuitive as traditional payments and savings tools. With hundreds of millions of crypto holders globally and millions transacting monthly, accessible wallets could significantly broaden adoption.
For Klarna, adding crypto wallet capabilities could open new revenue streams and deepen customer engagement. By embedding crypto features into its platform, Klarna can differentiate itself from competitors and tap into the growing digital asset economy, potentially enhancing long-term growth. However, execution and regulatory compliance will be key to realizing these benefits.
How Are Peers Placed?
Among Klarna’s peers, PayPal Holdings, Inc. PYPL has already incorporated stablecoins into its operations to stay competitive in the evolving digital payment landscape. It has launched its own stablecoin, PYUSD or PayPal USD, built on the Ethereum blockchain, enabling users to buy, sell and transfer the token directly within its platform and on some external wallets.
Payments giant Visa Inc. V is investing handsomely in stablecoin infrastructure and running pilots for fast adoption. Last month, a pilot program was introduced, allowing instant payouts in USD-backed stablecoins through its Visa Direct platform. It will enable creators and gig workers to receive their earnings in digital currency directly to their crypto wallets.
Klarna’s Price Performance, Valuation and Estimates
Shares of Klarna have declined 6.6% over the past month, underperforming the broader industry’s 2.3% fall.
