T-Mobile US, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, provides mobile communications services in the United States, Puerto Rico, and the United States Virgin Islands. The company offers voice, messaging, and data services to customers in the postpaid, prepaid, and wholesale and other services. It also provides wireless devices, including smartphones, wearables, tablets, home broadband routers, and other mobile communication devices, as well as wireless devices and accessories; financing through equipment installment plans; reinsurance for device insurance policies and extended warranty contracts; leasing through JUMP! On Demand; and High Speed Internet services. In addition, the company offers services, devices, and accessories under the T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile brands through its owned and operated retail stores, T-Mobile app and customer care channels, and its websites. It also sells its devices to dealers and other third-party distributors for resale through independent third-party retail outlets and various third-party websites. The company was founded in 1994 and is headquartered in Bellevue, Washington.

T-Mobile US has a strong operating base combined with a noticeably expensive valuation across several multiples. Its P/E ratio of 20.29 is 32.3% above the industry median, while P/S and P/B look even more stretched — 144.3% and 166.9% above the median, respectively, which limits re-rating potential. At the same time, P/FCF is 13.3% below the median, supporting the view that the company’s free cash flow remains high quality and partly justifies the sector premium. Profitability looks strong: gross margin of 62.22%, operating margin of 19.86%, and net profit margin of 11.65% are all above industry benchmarks, indicating a good ability to monetize the subscriber base. Return on capital is also high: ROE of 17.82% is above the median, while ROA and ROI are roughly in line with the sector, meaning the business is efficient but without a clear acceleration in asset quality. The year-over-year trend is overall somewhat weaker than desired: ROE, ROA, ROI, margins, and revenue in recent periods have been slightly declining from stronger levels seen in the middle of the year. Revenue and profit remain large and stable, but there is no clear sequential growth acceleration, so the fundamentals support stability rather than aggressive upside. Leverage is the main risk: debt/equity of 1.58 is 121.7% above the median, long-term debt is rising, and cash on hand has declined notably compared with earlier periods. Liquidity is not critical yet, but a current ratio of 1.09 and quick ratio of 0.97 indicate a fairly tight cushion without much comfort. Dividend yield is currently zero, whereas it was positive in prior periods, removing one of the traditional supports for the valuation. Overall, this is the profile of a high-quality, profitable, cash-generative business, but with a rich valuation on sales and book value and elevated debt. For an investor, this means fair value should be slightly below the current operational benchmark, since strong margins and FCF do not fully offset expensive multiples and leverage risk. The adjustment is moderate because the fundamentals are not weak, but rather mature and stable, without clear signs of undervaluation.

T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) investors saw some serious volatility last week. On Thursday, July 23, the wireless carrier reported second-quarter results in which profit came in ahead of Wall Street's expectations while revenue landed just shy of them. The stock fell 10.75% to $170.42. Then on Friday, July 24, shares turned around and rose 5.67% to close at $180.09.
Two wild sessions, one report, and a nearly $10-per-share gap between their closing verdicts. Clearly, investors are having a hard time making up their mind about the stock. With the stock now sitting about 31% below its 52-week high of $261.56, at about 14 times forward earnings, it's worth sorting out what is going on with the underlying business.

What the selling was about
The second quarter itself held up fine. Total revenue rose about 8% year over year to $22.8 billion. Service revenue (the recurring monthly billings that matter most for a carrier) grew 9% to $19.0 billion. The company added 277,000 postpaid accounts in the period, with average revenue per account up 2% from a year ago.
The discomfort came from the outlook. Management told investors to expect only about 250,000 postpaid account additions in the third quarter, a step down from the second quarter's pace. The cause is a deliberate one. T-Mobile is migrating customers onto its newer rate plans, and it expected that shift to cost it some smaller accounts along the way as the migration plays out.
"As part of our full-year plan and guidance, we anticipated our Q3 rate plan modernization would result in a temporary elevated account churn profile," said chief financial officer Peter Osvaldik in the company's second-quarter earnings call. He noted the impact is concentrated in accounts with fewer lines, so the effect on phone customers leaving is smaller.
There is also a mild slowdown built into the revenue guide. After 9% service revenue growth in the second quarter, management expects about 6% growth in the third quarter and 8% for the full year, at approximately $77 billion.
A slightly soft revenue quarter plus a slower quarter ahead was enough for a market that had priced the stock for clean execution. That was the logic behind Thursday's selling.
The case the rebound made
But look at what management actually did with its guidance. Not only did T-Mobile hold its full-year target of 950,000 to 1,050,000 postpaid account additions (it has already delivered almost 500,000 in the first half), but it also raised its cash outlook. The company now expects adjusted free cash flow of $18.4 billion to $18.8 billion this year, an increase of $200 million at the midpoint, helped by lower cash taxes. Core adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) is still expected to grow about 10% at the midpoint of its range.
The quality signals underneath held up, too. Management said more than 60% of customers on new accounts are choosing its premium plans, and that customers switching to T-Mobile carry monthly bills about 20% higher than those of customers leaving.
In other words, the quarter that spooked the market came with its profit engine intact, its full-year targets unchanged or better, and its cash forecast moving higher.
Now set that against the price. At a market capitalization of about $193 billion, the midpoint of that free cash flow guidance works out to a yield of nearly 10% on the whole company.
The stock's forward price-to-earnings ratio of about 14 also sits well below its trailing multiple of about 19, which is another way of saying earnings are expected to grow into the price quickly. For a business growing service revenue 9% and paying a 2.3% dividend yield on top, that is arguably a modest ask.
So which trading session had it right?
I think the rebound did. What disappointed on Thursday was slower account growth and a revenue line that still grew 8%. What didn't change was everything the investment case rests on: service revenue growth, EBITDA growth of about 10%, and a raised cash forecast. With that said, if the churn from the plan migration worsens, I'd revisit. Until then, T-Mobile looks like a growth business trading at a value multiple.

Why Verizon Stock is Building Momentum Through 5G and Fiber Growth

Space Exploration Technologies (NASDAQ: SPCX) took off like one of its Falcon 9 rockets in the immediate days following its initial public offering on June 12, 2026. That IPO was one for the record books, ranking as the largest ever.
Since then, though, SpaceX's sizzle has fizzled. Actually, its performance looks almost identical to past mega-IPOs. And one thing usually happens next, if history repeats itself.

A familiar pattern
I looked at the 10 largest past IPOs. SpaceX's trajectory has followed the paths of several of them. For example, the space stock jumped roughly 19% on its first day of trading -- almost exactly the historical average for mega-IPOs.
SpaceX's subsequent performance perhaps tracks most closely with another highly anticipated IPO. Facebook, now Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META), listed its shares on the Nasdaq stock exchange on May 18, 2012. The social media stock plunged more than 30% over the next few weeks before rebounding somewhat.
That's what we're seeing unfold with SpaceX. Shares of Elon Musk's space technology company fell more than 30% after rising immediately following the IPO. The stock has bounced back a little since bottoming out, though.
Two potential paths
What usually happens with mega-IPO stocks after their initial declines? Historically, there have been two paths.
Facebook/Meta Platforms represents the more attractive of the two paths. Although the stock performed dismally for most of 2012, it eventually roared back. By the end of 2013, Facebook's shares were up more than 40%.
Patient investors who held onto the stock were richly rewarded. An initial investment of $10,000 in Facebook when it first began trading would be worth more than $169,000 today.
Alibaba Group Holding (NYSE: BABA) is an especially disastrous example of the other path for mega-IPO stocks. When Alibaba listed its shares on the New York Stock Exchange on Sept. 19, 2014, it ranked as the largest IPO in U.S. history at the time. Although the Chinese tech stock struggled for a while, it had more than tripled by late 2020.
But then the bottom fell out for Alibaba. Multiple issues derailed the company's growth. The stock is now down more than 60% below its peak. Since its IPO, Alibaba has delivered a positive return of around 27%, less than one-tenth the S&P 500's return during the period.
What's next for SpaceX?
If SpaceX continues to track with previous mega-IPOs, it's likely to experience significant near-term volatility. The company's staggered post-IPO lock-up release schedule could complicate matters, with the prospects of insider selling over the next few months potentially creating downward pressure on SpaceX's share price.
Eight of the 10 largest U.S. IPOs have underperformed the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) since the companies went public. SpaceX could become the ninth member of this group, but this fate isn't guaranteed.
The company's Starlink satellite internet services unit has a real opportunity to disrupt the wireless services market dominated by telecom giants such as AT&T (NYSE: T), T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS), and Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ)
SpaceX's Starmind initiative, though, could be the game changer that makes it more like Meta than Alibaba. Starmind's goal is to launch up to 1 million satellites that process artificial intelligence (AI) workloads. The results from these AI processes would then be beamed back to Earth stations.
While that might sound like something from a science fiction novel, Musk and the SpaceX team believe they can resolve the technological challenges and make it happen. If so, the competitive advantages Starmind would offer -- including low energy costs from solar power -- could make SpaceX the most powerful player in the AI data center market.
The bottom line is that no one knows for sure which path SpaceX will take over the next few years. The company's destiny won't be dictated by past IPOs, even if its current trajectory looks eerily similar to some of them.

SpaceX's Performance Looks Almost Identical to Past Mega-IPOs -- Here's What Usually Happens Next

In early trading on Friday, shares of Honeywell International topped the list of the day's best performing components of the Nasdaq 100 index, trading up 7.5%. Year to date, Honeywell International registers a 42.2% gain.
And the worst performing Nasdaq 100 component thus far on the day is Nebius Group, trading down 6.0%. Nebius Group is showing a gain of 148.1% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Coreweave, trading down 5.6%, and T-Mobile, trading up 4.4% on the day.

Exchange traded funds (ETFs) trade just like stocks, but instead of ''shares'' investors are actually buying and selling ''units''. These ''units'' can be traded back and forth just like stocks, but can also be created or destroyed to accommodate investor demand. Each week we monitor the week-over-week change in shares outstanding data, to keep a lookout for those ETFs experiencing notable inflows (many new units created) or outflows (many old units destroyed). QQQ, NFLX, TMUS, SHOP: ETF Outflow Alert

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) on Thursday fell -1.49%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average ($DOWI) (DIA) fell -1.11%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) fell -2.26%. September E-mini S&P futures (ESU26) fell -1.50%, and September E-mini Nasdaq futures (NQU26) fell -2.23%.
Stock indexes fell sharply amid a double whammy of soaring oil prices and a decline of -7% in Alphabet following its earnings report released after Wednesday's close. Alphabet raised its capital spending forecast for this year to $205 billion from $190 billion, spending more than double its 2025 capital spending and raising concern that the company will struggle to earn a sufficient return on its outsized AI investment. Tesla fell by an even larger -14% after its earnings report late Wednesday, which also showed a surge in capital spending and raised questions about Elon Musk’s intention to refocus Tesla on AI and robots.

Sep WTI crude oil prices (CLU26) soared by more than +6% on Thursday after the Iran-backed Houthis launched a missile and drone attack on two Saudi Arabian oil tankers in the Red Sea, expanding the oil disruptions beyond the Strait of Hormuz and threatening oil shipments in the Red Sea. Sep Brent crude oil prices (CBU26) rose above $100 per barrel for the first time since May. President Trump responded by saying he holds Iran responsible for the Houthi attacks and telling Axios in an interview on Thursday that he is considering a "massive attack" that would be "bigger than ever before" and is "close to making a decision on it."
The Houthis have vowed to blockade shipping linked to Saudi Arabia and warned shipowners against calling at the nation's ports. The move threatens Saudi oil exports from Yanbu, a Red Sea hub that the Saudi's are using to ship crude since the war brought shipping through the Strait of Hormuz to a near halt. Meanwhile, the US and Iran exchanged attacks for the 12th straight day, and the US maintained its blockade of Iranian oil shipments in the Persian Gulf.
US weekly initial unemployment claims in the week ended July 18 fell by -22,000 to 187,000, which showed a stronger labor market than expectations for a slight increase to +210,000. Continuing claims fell by -2,000 to 1.796 million, showing a stronger labor market than expectations for a rise to 1.809 million.
The Chicago Fed’s June National Activity Index rose to -0.02, which was weaker than the expected rise to zero from May’s revised -0.19.

Interest Rates
September 10-year T-notes (ZNU6) on Thursday fell -9.5 ticks, and the 10-year T-note yield rose +4.5 bp to 4.699%. Sep T-notes tumbled to a 1.5-year nearest-futures low, and the 10-year T-note yield rose to a new 1.5-year high. T-notes fell on Thursday’s sharp +6% rise in WTI crude oil prices, which threatened to worsen inflation, although the 10-year breakeven inflation expectations managed to fall -1.7 bp to 2.265%.
T-note prices were also undercut by the US unemployment claims report, which showed a stronger-than-expected labor market. T-note prices were also undercut by lackluster demand for the Treasury’s sale of $21 billion of 10-year TIPS, which produced an auction yield that was 2 bp higher than expected.
European government bond yields rose. The 10-year German bund yield rose +3.2 bp to 3.203%, and edged to a new 15-year high. The 10-year UK gilt yield rose +6.8 bp to 5.102%, and posted a new 2-month high.
The ECB at its policy meeting on Thursday left its key deposit rate unchanged at 2.25%, in line with market expectations. The ECB said it left rates unchanged, awaiting further data to determine whether additional rate hikes are necessary to address the inflation outlook. However, ECB President Christine Lagarde said, "Risks to the inflation outlook are to the upside." The markets are discounting a 92% chance of a +25 bp ECB rate hike at its next policy meeting on September 10.
US Stock Movers
The sharp declines of -7% in Alphabet (GOOGL)and -14% in Tesla (TSLA) dragged down other mega-cap tech stocks. The rest of the Magnificent 7 are all closed lower, with Amazon (AMZN) closing down more than -4% and Meta Platforms (META) closing down by more than -3%.
Software stocks were under pressure, with Atlassian (TEAM) falling more than -6% and Oracle (ORCL) falling more than -4%. Salesforce (CRM), ServiceNow (NOW), and Workday (WDAY) all closed down by more than -3%.
Chipmakers closed lower nearly across the board, led by declines of more than -4% in Microchip Technology (MCHP) and more than -3% in Texas Instruments (TXN). Globalfoundaries (GFS), Qualcomm (QCOM), Align Technology (ALGN), ON Semiconductor (ON), Intel (INTC), and AMD (AMD) all closed down by more than -2%.
Energy stocks and service providers generally traded higher on the surge in oil prices. ExxonMobil (XOM), Diamondback Energy (FANG), and ConocoPhillips (COP) all closed up by more than +1%.
American Airlines (AAL) fell by more than -8% after the airline reduced its annual guidance and said it may show a loss in Q3 due to persistently high fuel prices.
T-Mobile (TMUS) fell by more than -10% after a disappointing earnings report.
Comcast (CMCSA) fell by more than -6% after its Q2 earnings report showed a loss in broadband subscribers, although the company noted an improved outlook for its Peacock streaming platform.

Meanwhile, WTI crude oil prices (CLU26) are up more than +6% today after the Iran-backed Houthis launched a missile and drone attack on two Saudi Arabian oil tankers in the Red Sea, expanding the oil disruptions beyond the Strait of Hormuz and threatening oil shipments in the Red Sea. Sep Brent crude oil prices (CBU26) are trading above $100 per barrel. The Houthis have vowed to blockade shipping linked to Saudi Arabia and warned shipowners against calling at the nation's ports. The move threatens Saudi oil exports from Yanbu, a Red Sea hub that the Saudi's are using to ship crude since the war brought shipping through the Strait of Hormuz to a near halt. President Trump said Tuesday that if there is a blockade in the Red Sea, the US “will take care of it.” Meanwhile, the US and Iran exchanged attacks for the 12th straight day, and the US maintained its blockade of Iranian oil shipments in the Persian Gulf.
US weekly initial unemployment claims in the week ended July 18 fell by -22,000 to 187,000, which showed a stronger labor market than expectations for a slight increase to +210,000. Continuing claims fell by -2,000 to 1.796 million, showing a stronger labor market than expectations for a rise to 1.809 million.
The Chicago Fed’s June National Activity Index rose to -0.02, which was weaker than the expected rise to zero from May’s revised -0.19.

Stocks Fall as Crude Oil Prices Soar and Alphabet Sparks AI Spending Concerns

T-Mobile US, Inc. TMUS reported second-quarter 2026 earnings of $3.13 per share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $2.49 by 25.7%. Total revenues of $22.79 billion also edged past the consensus mark of $22.74 billion by 0.21% and increased 7.9% year over year.
The strong performance reflected continued growth in service revenues, expanding postpaid average revenue per account (ARPA) and solid customer additions. Postpaid ARPA increased 2% year over year to $152.91, underscoring the company's ability to deepen customer relationships and drive higher monetization.
TMUS Benefits From Service Revenue Expansion
T-Mobile generated total service revenues of $18.98 billion in the second quarter, up 8.9% from the year-ago period. Postpaid service revenues climbed 12.6% year over year to $15.85 billion, supported by higher average postpaid accounts following the UScellular and Metronet acquisitions as well as higher postpaid ARPA.
Total revenues increased 7.9% year over year to $22.79 billion despite a sequential decline from the first quarter, reflecting lower equipment sales. Equipment revenues increased modestly from the prior-year quarter as a richer mix of high-end smartphones offset lower unit volumes, while service revenues continued to be the primary growth engine.

T-Mobile Strengthens Customer Metrics
TMUS reported postpaid net account additions of 277,000 during the quarter compared with 318,000 a year ago. Total postpaid accounts increased to 34.7 million from 31.5 million in the prior-year quarter, highlighting continued expansion of the subscriber base despite slower net additions.
Postpaid account churn was 0.99% compared with 0.92% a year ago, primarily reflecting a higher mix of broadband-only accounts. Meanwhile, ARPA rose to $152.91 from $149.87, benefiting from higher fee revenue, increased customers per account, broader adoption of tax and fee-exclusive plans and continued growth in broadband and business accounts.
TMUS Faces Higher Operating Costs
Operating expenses increased to $17.30 billion from $15.92 billion in the prior-year quarter. Higher costs of services, equipment sales, selling, general and administrative expenses, and depreciation and amortization all contributed to the increase.
Despite elevated expenses, profitability remained resilient. Net income rose modestly to $3.24 billion from $3.22 billion a year earlier, while diluted earnings per share increased 5.3% year over year to $2.99. Results included the impact of UScellular merger-related costs, including accelerated depreciation, net of tax, amounting to $146 million, or $0.14 per share.
T-Mobile Delivers Healthy Cash Generation
Core adjusted EBITDA increased 11.7% year over year to $9.54 billion, reflecting continued operating leverage as service revenues expanded. Net cash provided by operating activities rose 7.3% year over year to $7.5 billion, demonstrating the company's ability to translate revenue growth into cash generation.
Adjusted free cash flow improved 4.4% year over year to $4.8 billion despite higher capital spending. Cash purchases of property and equipment, including capitalized interest, increased 12.8% to $2.7 billion as the company continued investing in network expansion and integration initiatives. During the quarter, T-Mobile returned $3.3 billion to shareholders through $2.2 billion of share repurchases and $1.1 billion in dividends.
TMUS Raises Cash Flow Outlook for 2026
Management reaffirmed its expectation for postpaid net account additions between 950,000 and 1.05 million for 2026 while maintaining its Core Adjusted EBITDA guidance in the range of $37.1 billion to $37.5 billion.
The company raised its outlook for net cash provided by operating activities to $28.4-$28.8 billion from the prior range of $28.1-$28.7 billion. Adjusted free cash flow guidance was also increased to $18.4-$18.8 billion from the previous outlook of $18.1-$18.7 billion, reflecting management's confidence in sustained service revenue growth, disciplined execution and continued cash generation.
