Additionally, the company has a collaboration agreement with IGM Biosciences, Inc. to develop, manufacture, and commercialize IgM antibody; Skyhawk Therapeutics, Inc to discover and develop novel small molecules; and Adagene Inc., for the discovery and development of antibody-based therapies. It also has collaborations with Scribe Therapeutics Inc. to develop genome editing technologies; and co-promotion service agreement with Provention Bio, Inc. for the commercialization of teplizumab. The company was formerly known as Sanofi-Aventis and changed its name to Sanofi in May 2011. Sanofi was founded in 1973 and is headquartered in Paris, France.

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. REGN reported third-quarter 2025 adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $11.83, which comfortably beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $9.44. However, the bottom line was down 5% from $12.46 recorded in the year-ago quarter, primarily due to higher expenses.
Total revenues grew 1% year over year to $3.7 billion due to higher sales of Eylea HD and increased Dupixent profits. Revenues also beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $3.6 billion.
Shares are trading up in response to the better-than-expected quarterly results.
Regeneron’s shares have lost 17.8% year to date against the industry’s growth of 10.3%.

Eylea HD, Dupiexent Power REGN’s Q3 Results
Lead drug, Eylea, is approved for various ophthalmology indications (neovascular age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema and macular edema, among others).
Eylea’s sales in the United States plunged 41% year over year to $681 million, primarily due to increased competition from other drugs like Roche’s RHHBY Vabysmo, loss in market share to compounded bevacizumab due to patient affordability constraints and transition of patients to higher doses of the drug (Eylea HD).
Nonetheless, Eylea sales in the United States fell short of the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $686 million.
Please note that Regeneron co-developed Eylea with the HealthCare unit of Bayer AG BAYRY. Regeneron records net product sales of Eylea and Eylea HD in the United States and Bayer does the same outside the country. The company records its share of profits in connection with Eylea and Eylea HD sales outside the United States within collaboration revenues.
In August 2023, the FDA approved Eylea HD (higher dose of Eylea) for the treatment of patients with wet age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema and diabetic retinopathy.
Eylea HD generated revenues of $431 million in the United States, up 10% year over year, due to higher sales volumes driven by increased demand. Eylea HD sales beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $414 million.
Total revenues include collaboration revenues of $2 billion from Sanofi SNY and Bayer. The figure increased 18.6% from that recorded in the year-ago quarter. Total collaboration revenues beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.8 billion.
Sanofi’s collaboration revenues increased 28% to $1.6 billion, driven by profits associated with higher Dupixent sales. The figure beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.5 billion. We note that Sanofi records global net product sales of Dupixent and Kevzara, while Regeneron records its share of profits/losses in connection with the global sales of both drugs within collaboration revenues. Dupixent’s sales increased 27% year over year to $4.86 billion.
Bayer’s collaboration revenues totaled $345 million, down 12% year over year.
Regeneron records net product sales of Praluent in the United States and Sanofi does the same outside the country. SNY pays REGN a royalty on such sales. Regeneron records global net product sales of Libtayo and pays Sanofi a royalty on such sales.
Total Libtayo sales were $365.2 million, up 27% year over year. The figure, however, missed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $370 million.
Praluent’s net sales in the United States were $67.7 million. Kevzara recorded global sales of $154 million, up 28% from the year-ago quarter’s level.
Gross margin on net product sales decreased to 86% from 89% due to ongoing investments to support the manufacturing operations.
Adjusted R&D expenses increased 18% year over year to $1.3 billion due to the advancement of the company's pipeline. Adjusted SG&A expenses decreased 12% to $541 million.
In February 2025, the board of directors authorized a new share repurchase program to repurchase up to an additional $3.0 billion of the common stock. During the second quarter of 2025, REGN repurchased shares for $663 million. As of June 30, 2025, approximately $2.156 billion remained available for share repurchases.
REGN’s Key Pipeline and Regulatory Updates
The European Medicines Agency’s (“EMA”) Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) adopted a positive opinion recommending the approval of Dupixent in the European Union (EU) for the treatment of chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older who remain symptomatic despite antihistamine treatment.
A decision from the European Commission is expected in the coming months.
The FDA issued a complete response letter (CRL) for the pre-filled syringe supplemental biologics license application (sBLA) seeking approval of Eylea HD. The sole approvability issue cited in the CRL relates to unresolved inspection findings at Catalent.
REGN is planning to submit an application to include a new pre-filled syringe manufacturing filler in the Eylea HD BLA by January 2026.
The FDA recently approved the label expansion of PD-1 inhibitor Libtayo as an adjuvant treatment for adult patients with cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (“CSCC”) at high risk of recurrence after surgery and radiation.
The EMA's CHMP also adopted a positive opinion on Libtayo for the adjuvant treatment of CSCC.
REGN also announced that the primary and key secondary endpoints were met in a phase III study of cemdisiran (siRNA therapy), as both a monotherapy and in combination with pozelimab (C5 antibody), in adults with generalized myasthenia gravis. A regulatory submission for cemdisiran monotherapy is planned for the first quarter of 2026 in the United States pending discussions with the FDA.

Eylea sales continue to be on the downslide due to competition from Vabysmo. We note that Vabysmo's uptake has been outstanding. Roche designed Vabysmo to block pathways involving Ang-2 and VEGF-A.
Nonetheless, REGN is looking to strengthen its oncology portfolio to diversify its revenue stream.
The company’s oncology franchise received a boost with the recent FDA approval of a label expansion of Libtayo.
The regulatory body had earlier approved linvoseltamab-gcpt for the treatment of relapsed or refractory (R/R) multiple myeloma (MM). The drug was granted accelerated approval by the FDA under the brand name Lynozyfic. It is also approved in the European Union (EU) to treat adults with R/R MM after at least three prior therapies, including a proteasome inhibitor, an immunomodulatory agent and an anti-CD38 monoclonal antibody.
The EU approval of Ordspono (odronextamab) for treating adult patients with R/R follicular lymphoma or R/R diffuse large B-cell lymphoma after two or more lines of systemic therapy has also strengthened its oncology franchise.

Sanofi Breaks Above 200-Day Moving Average - Bullish for SNY

Sanofi SNY reported third-quarter 2025 adjusted earnings of $1.70 per American depositary share, which beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.60. Earnings of €2.91 per share rose 7% on a reported basis and 13.2% on a constant currency rate (“CER”) basis, driven by cost control and operational efficiency
Net sales rose 2.3% on a reported basis to $14.52 billion (€12.43 billion). Sales rose 7% on a CER basis. Sales slightly beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $14.46 billion.
Sales rose 11.1% at CER in the United States, 1.9% in the Rest of the World (including China, Japan, Brazil and Russia) and 2.8% in Europe.
All growth rates mentioned below are on a year-on-year basis and at CER.
SNY’s Dupixent Continues to Outperform
In Immunology, Dupixent generated sales of €4.2 billion in the quarter, up 26.2% year over year, driven by strong prescription trends across all approved indications and geographies. Dupixent sales beat our model estimate of €4.03 billion.
Dupixent is approved for atopic dermatitis, asthma, chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis, eosinophilic esophagitis, prurigo nodularis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in the United States as well as several other countries. Dupixent was approved for its seventh indication, chronic spontaneous urticaria, in April 2025 and for its eighth indication, bullous pemphigoid, in June 2025, in the United States.
Sales of the drug in the United States rose 27.9%. Dupixent sales rose 20.9% in Europe and 21.7% in the Rest of the World.
Sanofi markets Dupixent in partnership with Regeneron REGN. While sales are recorded by Sanofi, Regeneron records its share of profits/losses in connection with global sales of Dupixent.
SNY’s Rare Disease Drugs’ Performance
Among Sanofi’s rare disease drugs, rare blood disorder drug Altuviiio, a once-weekly new class of factor VIII therapy for hemophilia A, recorded sales of €294 million in the third quarter, up 81.4% year over year, mainly driven by patient switches in the U.S. hemophilia A market and launch in Japan and Taiwan. As much as 84% of Altuviiio’s sales were in the United States.
Among the rare disease drugs in the Pompe franchise, Nexviazyme/Nexviadzyme recorded sales of €200 million, up 27.6% year over year, mainly driven by strong sales growth in Europe. Myozyme sales declined 25% year over year to €122 million due to patients switching to Nexviazyme. Fabrazyme sales were €242 million, down 0.4% year over year. In the Gaucher franchise, Cerezyme sales rose 0.6% year over year to €161 million.
Cablivi recorded sales of €66 million, up 9.5% year over year, driven by patient growth in the United States and Europe.
Among the rare blood disorder drugs, Eloctate sales declined 14.6% to €77 million in the quarter due to patients switching to the new drug Altuviiio.
Xenpozyme recorded sales of €57 million in the quarter, up 43.9% year over year.
New drug Qfitlia (fitusiran), which was approved by the FDA in March for treating hemophilia A and B, generated €4 million in sales compared to €1 million in the previous quarter.
Wayrilz (rilzabrutinib), which was approved for treating immune thrombocytopenia in the United States in August, generated €1 million in sales in the third quarter.
All sales of Qfitlia and Wayrilz were in the United States in the third quarter, as the drugs are not yet approved in Europe.
Ayvakit, added from the mid-July acquisition of Blueprint Medicines, recorded sales of €137 million.
SNY’s Neurology, Oncology & Other Drugs
In neurology medicines, Aubagio sales declined 44.6% year over year to €49 million due to loss of exclusivity.
In Oncology, Sarclisa sales rose 41.2% year over year to €155 million, driven by market share gains globally and increased use in earlier lines of treatment.
In Others, Toujeo recorded sales of €321.0 million, up 9.2% year over year, driven mainly by higher sales in Rest of World. Lantus sales rose 6.7% to €438 million. Rezurock recorded sales of €114 million, down 6.9% year over year. Tzield sales were €18 million in the quarter, up 26.7% year over year.
Plavix sales rose 1.3% to €223 million. Lovenox sales decreased 14.6% to €196 million.
SNY’s Vaccine Sales Decline
Total vaccine sales declined 7.8% to €3.36 billion, mainly due to lower sales of flu vaccines, which were partially offset by higher sales of Sanofi and partner AstraZeneca’s AZN respiratory syncytial virus or RSV antibody, Beyfortus. Vaccine sales missed our estimate of €3.47 billion.
Sales of flu vaccines declined 16.8% year over year to €1.53 billion due to increased price competition and a lower vaccination rate. Sales of Polio/Pertussis/Hib (PPH) vaccines declined 12.2% year over year to €642 million. Sales of meningitis, travel and other endemic vaccines declined 1.9% year over year to €451 million in the quarter.
AstraZeneca-partnered Beyfortus recorded sales of €739 million in the quarter, up 19.8% year over year, driven by the geographical roll-out of infant protection in Europe and the Rest of the World.
SNY Maintains 2025 Guidance
Sanofi maintained its previously issued sales and earnings growth expectations for 2025.
Sanofi expects sales to rise by a high single-digit percentage at CER. Sanofi expects earnings to rebound strongly in 2025 with an expectation of a low double-digit percentage growth at CER (before stock buyback).
In January, Sanofi announced a €5 billion ($5.2 billion) buyback program for 2025. Sanofi has already repurchased 86.1% of €5 billion and plans to complete the program this year.
Our Take on SNY’s Q3 Results
Sanofi’s third-quarter results were strong as it beat estimates for earnings as well as sales. Higher sales of Dupixent and contributions from new products like Altuviiio and Ayvakit drove top-line growth despite lower sales of vaccines. Dupixent continues to be the key top-line driver with global sales rising above €4 billion in a quarter for the first time. Sales of its newly launched drugs and vaccines rose 40.8% in the quarter. Sanofi maintained its growth expectations for 2025 and expects continued profitable growth in 2026.
Sanofi’s shares were up around 2% in pre-market trading in response to the strong quarterly results.
Sanofi’s stock has risen 2.7% so far this year compared with the industry’s increase of 5.5%.

Several new drugs launched in the past couple of years have become significant contributors to Sanofi's accelerated top-line growth profile. Sanofi expects three potential new drug launches this year, with Qfitlia and Wayrilz already launched. A regulatory application seeking approval for tolebrutinib for non-relapsing secondary progressive multiple sclerosis is under review in the United States, with an FDA decision expected later this year.
Sanofi has also been active on the M&A front. This year, it acquired Blueprint Medicines, which has expanded its presence in rare immunological diseases and Vigil Neuroscience, which expanded its early-stage pipeline in neurology with VG-3927, a novel, oral, small-molecule TREM2 agonist targeting Alzheimer’s disease.
In April 2025, Sanofi closed its previously announced transaction to sell a 50% controlling stake of its Consumer Healthcare business, Opella, to private equity firm CD&R. Sanofi retains a 48.2% stake in Opella.

Sanofi Q3 Earnings Beat, Dupixent Drives Growth as Vaccines Decline

(RTTNews) - French drug major Sanofi (SNY) reported Friday slightly lower profit in its third quarter, even as net sales were higher, benefited mainly by strong growth in Dupixent, which for the first time reached above 4 billion euros sales in a quarter.
Looking ahead, for fiscal 2025, the company continues to expect sales to grow by a high single-digit percentage at constant exchange rates. Sanofi confirmed the expectation of a strong business earnings per share rebound with growth at a low double-digit percentage at CER, before share buyback.
Paul Hudson, Chief Executive Officer, said, "Sanofi will strategically deploy capital towards growth and differentiated science with expected attractive financial returns. As we are looking forward to 2026, we are confident in our ability to pursue our current trajectory of profitable growth."
In the third quarter, the company's net income attributable to equity holders dropped to 2.80 billion euros from 2.82 billion euros last year. Basic earnings per share, however, grew to 2.30 euros from 2.25 euros a year ago on lower share count.
Basic earnings per share from continuing operations were 2.32 euros, higher than 2.22 euros last year.
Business net income was 3.55 billion euros, an increase of 4 percent from 3.41 billion euros a year ago. Business earnings per share improved to 2.91 euros from 2.72 euros last year.
In the quarter, research and Development expenses dropped 4.9 percent and selling, general and administrative expenses grew 7.1 percent to support launches.
Net sales increased 2.3 percent to 12.43 billion euros from 12.16 billion euros last year. Net sales grew 7 percent at constant exchange rates.
Dupixent sales climbed 26.2 percent from last year to 4.2 billion euros. Meanwhile, vaccines sales decreased 7.8 percent from last year to 3.4 billion euros, from lower influenza sales.
Pharma launches increased sales by 57.1 percent, reaching 1.0 billion euros, driven by ALTUVIIIO and Ayvakit.
Sanofi added that it intends to complete its 5 billion euros share buyback program in 2025, of which 86.1 percent has been executed to date.

(RTTNews) - Sanofi (SNY, SNYNF, SAN.PA) announced positive topline results from the global Phase 2 ElevAATe study evaluating efdoralprin alfa (SAR447537, formerly INBRX-101) in adults with alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD) emphysema. The investigational recombinant human AAT-Fc fusion protein met all primary and key secondary endpoints when administered every three weeks (Q3W) or four weeks (Q4W).
Efdoralprin alfa demonstrated a statistically significant greater mean increase in functional AAT (fAAT) levels within the normal range, as measured by trough concentrations at steady state, compared to weekly plasma-derived augmentation therapy at week 32 (p0.0001). Key secondary endpoints were also met, including superior mean fAAT average concentration and a higher percentage of days above the lower limit of the normal range for both dosing regimens.
The therapy was well tolerated, with an adverse event profile comparable to plasma-derived therapy. Additional safety data will be collected in the ongoing ElevAATe OLE Phase 2 extension study.

Sanofi's Efdoralprin Alfa Meets All Endpoints In Phase 2 AATD Emphysema Study

(RTTNews) - Sanofi (SNY) said the FDA has accepted for expedited review the supplemental biologics license application for Tzield to delay the progression of stage 3 type 1 diabetes in adults and pediatric patients eight years of age and older recently diagnosed with stage 3 T1D. The sBLA is supported by the results from the PROTECT phase 3 study.
The company noted that FDA nominated Tzield for the Commissioner's National Priority Voucher pilot program based on its potential to address a large unmet medical need. The CNPV program aims to shorten the review process to 1-2 months.

Sanofi: FDA Accepts SBLA For Tzield For Expedited Review

(RTTNews) - Sanofi SA (SNY) announced that new data from the FLUNITY-HD study showed its high-dose influenza vaccine significantly reduces the risk of hospitalization in adults aged 65 and older compared to standard-dose flu vaccines.
Compared to standard-dose influenza vaccines, Efluelda (also known as Fluzone High-Dose) demonstrated an additional 31.9% reduction in laboratory-confirmed influenza-related hospitalizations in adults 65 years and older.
The findings come from FLUNITY-HD, the largest influenza vaccine effectiveness study conducted in individually randomized older adults. The study included nearly half a million participants across multiple flu seasons and two distinct geographic regions.
Beyond influenza-related hospitalizations, Efluelda/Fluzone High-Dose also provided superior protection against hospitalizations due to pneumonia or influenza, cardio-respiratory events, and all-cause hospitalizations in older adults when compared to standard-dose influenza vaccines.
With the addition of these new data, our high-dose influenza vaccine is now supported by 15 years of clinical evidence, encompassing over 45 million older adults.
Efluelda/Fluzone High-Dose is the first vaccine to demonstrate superior protection against both influenza infection and related hospitalizations in individually randomized studies involving adults aged 65 and older, Sanofi said.

Sanofi Reports Superior Protection For Older Adults With High-Dose Influenza Vaccine

Merck MRK is facing persistent challenges for its second-largest product, Gardasil, which is a vaccine for the prevention of certain cancers caused by human papillomavirus. Though the vaccine’s sales rose consistently till 2022, it started witnessing sluggish sales from 2024.
During the first half of 2025, Gardasil sales declined 48% on a year-over-year basis to $2.45 billion. Sales of Gardasil are declining due to weak performance in China, which resulted from sluggish demand trends amid an economic slowdown. Lower demand in China resulted in above-normal channel inventory levels at Merck’s commercialization partner in China, Zhifei.
Accordingly, Merck decided to temporarily halt shipments of Gardasil in China to allow Zhifei to burn down existing inventory. Merck does not expect to resume shipments to China through at least the end of 2025.
Gardasil sales are expected to decline significantly in 2025 from 2024 levels.
Merck is also seeing lower demand for Gardasil in Japan. Management expects Gardasil sales to remain weak in China as well as Japan in the third and fourth quarters of 2025. Our estimates for Gardasil sales suggest a negative CAGR of 15.1% over the next three years.
MRK's Other Vaccines & Competition in the Target Market
Besides Gardasil, Merck markets other vaccines like ProQuad/ M-M-R II/Varivax (measles, mumps, rubella and varicella virus vaccine, Vaxneuvance (pneumococcal 15-valent conjugate vaccine), RotaTeq (rotavirus vaccine), Pneumovax 23 (pneumococcal vaccine polyvalent) and its newest jab, Capvaxive (21-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine).
Sales of other vaccines like Proquad, M-M-R II, Varivax, Rotateq and Pneumovax 23 also declined during the first half of 2025.
Merck’s newest respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) antibody, Enflonsia (clesrovimab), was approved in the United States in June 2025, while it is under review in the EU. Merck is currently gearing up to launch Enflonsia to help protect infants entering their first RSV season.
Per management, Enflonsia is the first and only treatment option designed to protect infants with the same dose regardless of weight.
However, Enflonsia is likely to face stiff competition from AstraZeneca AZN/Sanofi’s SNY RSV antibody Beyfortus, which was approved for a similar indication in 2023.
AstraZeneca records a 50% share of gross profits on sales of Beyfortus in major markets outside the United States and 25% of brand revenues in the rest of the world markets received from partner Sanofi as Alliance revenues.
Beyfortus achieved blockbuster status in its first full year of sales in 2024.
Besides antibodies, some vaccines have been approved for preventing RSV in certain patients in the United States. These include Pfizer’s Abrysvo, GSK’s Arexvy and Moderna’s mRESVIA.
MRK's Price Performance, Valuation and Estimates
Year to date, shares of Merck have declined 15.8% against the industry’s rise of 5.6%. The stock has also underperformed the sector and the S&P 500 during the same time frame, as seen in the chart below.

From a valuation standpoint, Merck appears attractive relative to the industry. Going by the price/earnings ratio, the company’s shares currently trade at 8.97 forward earnings, lower than 15.62 for the industry and its 5-year mean of 12.64.
