(RTTNews) - Sanofi (SNY) announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has granted accelerated approval to Tzield (teplizumab-mzwv) for delaying the decline in endogenous insulin production in children aged 8 to 17 years recently diagnosed with stage 3 type 1 diabetes (T1D). Tzield is not effective as a disease-modifying therapy in non-autoimmune dysglycemic conditions.
The approval was based on results from the PROTECT phase 3 study and additional data from a global clinical development program involving more than 900 patients treated with Tzield.
The most common adverse reactions were lymphopenia, vomiting, rash, leukopenia, diarrhea, neutropenia, increased liver transaminase, and headache. Serious events such as cytokine release syndrome and life-threatening cases of viral reactivation have been reported with Tzield. Patients who are immunocompromised are at increased risk for viral reactivation.
This indication is granted under accelerated approval based on evidence of reduced C-peptide decline. Continued approval for this indication may be contingent upon verification and description of clinical benefit in confirmatory study(ies).
Prior to this approval in recently diagnosed stage 3 T1D, in April 2026, the FDA expanded the indication to delay the onset of stage 3 T1D in adults and children eight years and older with stage 2 T1D, to include children aged one year and above. It is also approved to delay the onset of stage 3 T1D in adults and children eight years and older with stage 2 T1D in the UK, the EU (under the name Teizeild), China, Australia, Canada, Israel, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Brazil and Switzerland. Regulatory reviews are ongoing in other jurisdictions around the world.

Notably, patients implanted with the ATEV had an average of 220 catheter-free days, compared with 129 for patients who received an AV fistula. In primary safety-related factors, patients receiving the ATEV experienced infections at a rate of 6?per 100 patient-years, compared with 23 per 100 patient-years in patients receiving the AV fistula procedure.

(RTTNews) - Sanofi (SNY), a biopharmaceutical company, on Wednesday announced the discontinuation of the Phase 3 MOBILIZE trial for Riliprubart in treating chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, based on findings from an independent data monitoring committee.
Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) is a rare neurological condition causing progressive weakness and sensory impairment in the arms and legs. The disease occurs when the body's immune system attacks the myelin sheaths around nerve cells in the peripheral nervous system. Approximately 30% of CIDP patients do not respond to standard-of-care treatments, and in 70% of treated patients, the response is considered incomplete.
Riliprubart is an IgG4 humanized monoclonal antibody that blocks C1 complement proteins in the innate immune system, to inhibit key inflammatory mechanisms driving demyelination and axonal damage in CIDP.
An independent data monitoring committee determined that riliprubart was unlikely to yield sufficient efficacy in treating CIDP. There were no safety issues reported with the drug.
Based on these findings, the company discontinued development of the Phase 3 MOBILIZE trial and stated that the ongoing Phase 3 VITALIZE trial for riliprubart in IVIg-treated CIDP patients will be evaluated accordingly.
The company further reported that no significant financial costs would be incurred due to the discontinuation, and no change in the guidance for 2026 was considered necessary. Additionally, the company assured assistance to all enrolled patients from the MOBILIZE trial in transitioning to other treatments.

Sanofi Discontinues Phase 3 MOBILIZE Trial For Riliprubart In Treating CIDP

Sanofi SNY announced that the European Commission (EC) has approved the subcutaneous (under the skin or SC) formulation of its multiple myeloma (MM) drug, Sarclisa (isatuximab). This version, which can be administered through either an on-body injector (OBI) or a manual injection, is approved across all indications for which the drug’s intravenous (into the vein or IV) version is already approved in the region.
With this nod, Sarclisa becomes the first anticancer treatment to be administered through an OBI. It is also the first MM therapy to offer the flexibility of both SC OBI and manual injection administration in the European Union (EU).
This approval was expected after the EMA’s Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (“CHMP”) issued a positive opinion recommending the approval of the SC formulation in March. Both the EC and CHMP decisions are supported by data from the phase III IRAKLIA study, which showed that treatment with Sarclisa SC was at least as effective as the IV version.
Sanofi is also seeking approval for the SC version in the United States, where a regulatory filing supported by the IRAKLIA study is currently under FDA review. A final decision is expected next month.
The SC formulation could provide a meaningful advantage over the IV version by reducing treatment administration time. Per Sanofi, the SC version can be delivered in approximately 13 minutes compared with up to several hours for the IV infusion. The shorter administration time may improve patient convenience, reduce the burden on healthcare providers and infusion centers, and potentially support broader adoption of the therapy.

In combination with Bristol Myers' BMY Pomalyst (pomalidomide) and dexamethasone, the drug is approved for adults with relapsed or refractory MM who have received at least two prior therapies, including Revlimid (lenalidomide) and a proteasome inhibitor. Sarclisa is also approved in combination with Amgen’s AMGN Kyprolis (carfilzomib) and dexamethasone for treating patients with relapsed/refractory MM (RRMM) who have received at least one prior therapy.

(RTTNews) - The European Commission has approved Sarclisa (isatuximab) subcutaneous (SC) in combination with standard-of-care regimens for the treatment of patients with multiple myeloma (MM) across all existing indications for Sarclisa intravenous (IV) formulation, Sanofi SA (SNY) said in a statement on Monday.
Sarclisa is the first anticancer therapy in the EU to be administered through an on-body injector (OBI) and manual SC administration and can provide the flexibility of administration at patients' homes and in the outpatient setting.
Since launching in 2020, Sarclisa has been prescribed to patients worldwide. Sarclisa IV is currently approved across four indications in the EU, including in combination with bortezomib, lenalidomide, and dexamethasone in both transplant-ineligible newly diagnosed MM (NDMM, TI) and transplant-eligible NDMM (NDMM, TE). In relapsed and/or refractory (R/R) MM, Sarclisa is approved in combination with pomalidomide and dexamethasone (Pd) or with carfilzomib and dexamethasone.

Sanofi and Regeneron’s REGN immunology drug, Dupixent, holds the number one new-to-brand prescription market share across all its approved indications in the United States.
Dupixent is now approved in several countries for nine diseases, driven partly by type II inflammation, namely severe chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis, severe asthma, moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis, eosinophilic esophagitis, prurigo nodularis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, chronic spontaneous urticaria, bullous pemphigoid and allergic fungal rhinosinusitis.
Dupixent generated sales of €4.17 billion in the first quarter of 2026, up 30.8% year over year. Dupixent’s strong sales growth is being driven by demand across all geographies, newly approved indications and demographics. Sanofi expects Dupixent to achieve around €22 billion in sales in 2030.
Dupixent is also being studied in late-stage studies for lichen simplex chronicus and chronic pruritus of unknown origin.
Sanofi and Regeneron aim to sustain long-term value creation for Dupixent through a three-pronged strategy of defending its patent portfolio, extending the product’s lifecycle via improved dosing options, and innovating with new molecules leveraging its existing alliance infrastructure.
SNY Boasts a Strong Vaccine Segment
Sanofi possesses one of the world’s leading vaccine operations, with total annual sales of more than €5 billion in the past five years. In the first quarter of 2026, total vaccine sales increased 2.1% to €1.29 billion.
Sanofi continues to expand its vaccine business further with its pipeline comprising multiple programs across pneumococcal disease, yellow fever, meningitis, RSV and pandemic preparedness. Some vaccine candidates that are in phase III development include a 21-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine and a next-generation rabies vaccine. Sanofi expects annual net sales to be more than €10 billion from its Vaccines unit by 2030, backed by its innovation efforts.
SNY’s New Products & Strong Pipeline Can Drive Long-Term Growth
Sanofi is seeing a good uptake of its new medicines like novel recombinant factor VIII therapy, Altuviiio and cancer drugs, Ayvakit and Sarclisa.
Sales of its newly launched medicines and vaccines grew 34% in 2025. Beyfortus (in partnership with AstraZeneca [AZN]) achieved blockbuster sales in its first full year of sales in 2024 and continues its expansion into new geographies. Altuviiio achieved blockbuster sales in 2025, and Ayvakit, added from the Blueprint Medicines acquisition, is expected to become the next blockbuster drug in 2026.
A key new product, Wayrilz (rilzabrutinib), was approved for treating immune thrombocytopenia in 2025. Sanofi’s new drug application (NDA) seeking approval for venglustat for Gaucher Disease is under the FDA’s priority review, with a decision expected in November. Venglustat is also under regulatory review in the EU.
Key late-stage pipeline candidates are tolebrutinib for non-relapsing secondary progressive multiple sclerosis, amlitelimab, an anti-OX40L mAb for moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis and lunsekimig across multiple respiratory indications. Sanofi’s regulatory application seeking approval of tolebrutinib was issued a complete response letter (CRL) in December. For amlitelimab, a regulatory filing is expected in the second half of 2026.
Competitive Pressure on SNY’s Vaccines
Sales of Sanofi’s influenza vaccines, which represent around 30% of Sanofi’s Vaccines sales, declined in 2024 and 2025, due to rising competitive and pricing pressure. Intense pricing pressure and lower vaccine coverage can continue to hurt sales of influenza vaccines in future quarters. Competitive pressures, in particular in the United States and in Germany, can hurt flu vaccine sales in future quarters. Sanofi believes that the influenza market is likely to have several new competitive entrants, both from standalone flu mRNA and COVID-flu combinations.
Competition for Beyfortus, which represented 22.4% of vaccine sales in 2025, has increased with the launch of Merck’s MRK newly approved monoclonal antibody, Enflonsia, in 2025.

Sanofi’s stock has declined 12.6% year to date compared with a decrease of 0.4% for the industry. The stock has also underperformed the sector and the S&P 500, as seen in the chart below.

From a valuation standpoint, Sanofi appears attractive relative to the industry. Going by the price/earnings ratio, the company’s shares currently trade at 8.35 forward earnings, lower than 16.92 for the industry. The stock is also trading below the stock’s 5-year mean of 11.27. The stock is much cheaper than other large drugmakers like Lilly, Novo Nordisk, AstraZeneca, J&J, Merck, AbbVie and others.

Sanofi faces its share of headwinds, like generic erosion of key drug Aubagio in all key markets and lower sales from mature products, which are hurting sales. Other headwinds include heavy reliance on one blockbuster drug, Dupixent, competitive pressure on influenza vaccines, regular pipeline setbacks and regulatory and pricing pressure.
However, Sanofi’s Specialty Care unit is on a strong footing, particularly with the outstanding growth trajectory of Dupixent. It has increased R&D investments and is achieving significant progress with its pipeline. It has also been active on the M&A front. In 2025, it acquired Blueprint Medicines, which expanded its presence in rare immunological diseases and Vigil Neuroscience, which makes innovative TREM2-based therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases.
In 2026, Sanofi expects sales to rise by a high single-digit percentage at CER. Sanofi expects earnings to grow faster than sales in 2026 at CER, before the impact of share repurchases.

Sanofi Stock Falls 6% in 3 Months: Should You Buy, Sell or Hold?

(RTTNews) - Sanofi (SNY) announced the launch of its 2026 global employee shareholder plan, Action 2026, opening on June 9 to approximately 75,000 employees across 52 countries.
Now in its 12th year, the program underscores Sanofi's commitment to involving employees in the company's growth. In 2025, more than 31,000 employees— representing 44% of the workforce— chose to invest through the plan. Today, nearly 90,000 current or former employees are shareholders, holding about 2.93% of Sanofi's capital.

For every five shares subscribed, employees will receive one free matching share, capped at four per employee.
Eligible employee may purchase up to 1,500 shares, subject to legal limits and savings plan rules. The issue is expected to close by the end of July 2026, with 9.8 million shares offered. Shares will be fully fungible with existing ordinary shares and entitled to dividends from issuance. Voting rights will be exercised directly by employees.
Shares subscribed in France must be held for about five years, until May 31, 2031, except in cases of early release events. For international participants, the holding period may be shortened to three years, until May 31, 2029, depending on local regulations.
Sanofi will request admission of the new shares to trading on Euronext Paris under ISIN Code FR0000120578.

Sanofi Launched 2026 Global Employee Stock Purchase Plan

GSK plc’s GSK Specialty Medicines business has become the company's primary growth engine, accounting for more than 40% of total sales and growing at a double-digit rate. The segment spans four core areas: Respiratory, Immunology & Inflammation (RI&I), Oncology and HIV.
Sales of the Specialty Medicines unit rose 14% year over year to £3.2 billion in the first quarter of 2026, driven by double-digit growth in all therapy areas, HIV, RI&I and Oncology.
In the segment, while products like Nucala and Dovato are key top-line drivers, new long-acting HIV medicines, Cabenuva and Apretude, as well as new oncology drugs Jemperli and Ojjaara, are also witnessing strong patient demand and contributing to top-line growth.
GSK’s long-acting injectable medicines, Cabenuva and Apretude, are seeing strong demand trends. Around 25-30% of GSK’s total HIV sales come from new long-acting injectables for treatment and prevention (also called PrEP), an area where GSK maintains a leadership position.
Backed by its existing portfolio of medicines as well as new drugs, GSK expects sales in the Specialty Medicines segment to rise at a low double-digit percentage at CER in 2026.
GSK’s Specialty Medicines Segment’s Robust Pipeline Progress
GSK is also increasing R&D investment in promising new long-acting and specialty medicines in HIV, RI&I and Oncology areas. Some key new product approvals in this segment are Blujepa/gepotidacin for two indications — uncomplicated urinary tract infection (UTI) and uncomplicated urogenital gonorrhea — and Exdensur (depemokimab), an ultra-long-acting anti-IL5, for severe asthma in the United States and for both severe asthma and chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) in the EU, Japan and China. Blenrep combinations were approved for relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma in the United States, the EU, the United Kingdom, Japan and some other countries in 2025. GSK expects Blenrep to be a key growth driver for the next 3-4 years.
Its blockbuster drug Nucala was approved for treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or COPD, its fifth indication, in the United States in May 2025 and in the EU in February 2026.
Regulatory applications seeking approval of bepirovirsen for chronic hepatitis B and tebipenem pivoxil for complicated UTIs are under review in the United States and some other countries. FDA decisions on these filings are expected in the next six months.
Key pipeline candidates in late-stage development are efimosfermin for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis or MASH, camlipixant for refractory chronic cough and risvutatug rezetecan, a B7-H3 antibody drug conjugate for second-line extensive stage small cell lung cancer.
GSK is also developing innovative ultra-long-acting HIV regimens for treatment and PrEP, which can extend the dosing intervals of the injections. GSK expects to launch twice-yearly long-acting injectables for treatment and PrEP between 2028 and 2030. GSK is also conducting studies to evaluate the use of Blenrep combinations in early treatment lines through the DREAMM clinical program.
Outlook for GSK’s Specialty Medicines Segment
GSK's Specialty Medicines segment is evolving into a diversified growth platform led by Nucala, Benlysta, Jemperli, Blenrep, Ojjaara and its long-acting HIV franchise. Over the next five years, Exdensur, Blenrep, the ADC oncology portfolio, camlipixant, efimosfermin and additional HIV innovations are expected to become the principal drivers of growth. Specialty Medicines, which now accounts for more than 40% of GSK’s sales, is expected to be more than 50% of GSK’s total revenues by 2031, supported by its new product launches and robust pipeline progress.
Competition for GSK’s Specialty Medicines
In the Specialty Medicines segment, most of GSK’s products are up against significant competition from small as well as large pharmaceutical companies like AstraZeneca AZN, Merck MRK, Sanofi SNY, Gilead, Pfizer, J&J, and Novartis, among others.
Nucala faces increasing competition from biologics such as AstraZeneca’s Fasenra and Sanofi’s Dupixent. In HIV, GSK’s medicines face competition from Gilead and MRK’s drugs. AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Merck and Lilly are GSK’s key competitors in the oncology space.

GSK Bets on Specialty Medicines to Drive Long-Term Revenue Growth

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. REGN reported first-quarter 2026 adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $9.47, which comfortably beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $8.52 and was up from $8.22 recorded in the year-ago quarter.
The strong bottom-line performance was driven by higher revenues and a reduced share count.
Total revenues grew 19% year over year to $3.6 billion, driven by higher sales of Eylea HD and increased Dupixent profits.
Revenues also beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $3.4 billion.
However, shares are trading lower despite the outperformance due to a year-over-year decline in GAAP earnings.
Regeneron’s shares have lost 5.2% so far this year compared with the industry’s decline of 1.5%.

Eylea HD and Dupiexent Power REGN’s Q1 Results
The lead drug, Eylea, is approved for various ophthalmology indications (neovascular age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema and macular edema, among others).
Eylea’s sales in the United States plunged 36% year over year to $473 million, primarily due to increased competition from other drugs like Roche’s RHHBY Vabysmo and continued transition of patients to higher doses of the drug (Eylea HD). Eylea sales in the United States beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $436 million.
Please note that Regeneron co-developed Eylea with the HealthCare unit of Bayer AG BAYRY. Regeneron records net product sales of Eylea and Eylea HD in the United States and Bayer does the same outside the country. The company records its share of profits in connection with Eylea and Eylea HD sales outside the United States within collaboration revenues.
In August 2023, the FDA approved Eylea HD (a higher dose of Eylea) for the treatment of patients with wet age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema and diabetic retinopathy.
Eylea HD generated revenues of $468 million in the United States, up 52% year over year, backed by higher sales volumes driven by increased demand. However, sales were negatively impacted by lower wholesaler inventory levels at the end of the first quarter of 2026 compared to the end of the fourth quarter of 2025. Eylea HD sales beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 0.12%.
Total revenues include collaboration revenues of $1.9 billion from Sanofi SNY and Bayer. The figure increased 24% from that recorded in the year-ago quarter. Total collaboration revenues beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.86 billion.
Sanofi’s collaboration revenues increased 36% to $1.6 billion, driven by profits associated with higher Dupixent sales. The figure beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.5 billion. We note that Sanofi records global net product sales of Dupixent and Kevzara, while Regeneron records its share of profits/losses in connection with the global sales of both drugs within collaboration revenues. Dupixent’s sales increased 33% year over year to $4.9 billion.
Bayer’s collaboration revenues totaled $287 million, down 17% year over year.
Regeneron records net product sales of Praluent in the United States and Sanofi does the same outside the country. SNY pays REGN a royalty on such sales. Regeneron records global net product sales of Libtayo and pays Sanofi a royalty on such sales.
Total Libtayo sales were $438 million, up 54% year over year. The figure beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $361 million.
Praluent’s net sales in the United States were $67 million.
The FDA had earlier approved linvoseltamab-gcpt for the treatment of relapsed or refractory (R/R) multiple myeloma (MM). The drug was granted accelerated approval by the FDA under the brand name Lynozyfic. It is also approved in the EU to treat adults with R/R MM after at least three prior therapies, including a proteasome inhibitor, an immunomodulatory agent and an anti-CD38 monoclonal antibody.
Lynozyfic sales came in at $11 million.
A Look at REGN’s Q1 Expense Summary
Gross margin on net product sales inched up to 86% from 85%.
Adjusted R&D expenses increased 19% year over year to $1.4 billion due to the advancement of the company's pipeline, including programs in hematology-oncology, complement-mediated diseases and anticoagulation. Adjusted SG&A expenses increased 4% to $560 million due to an increase in commercialization-related expenses for Eylea HD and Libtayo and higher headcount and headcount-related costs.
During the first quarter of 2026, the company repurchased $803 million worth of its common stock. As of March 31, 2026, $688 million remained available under its existing share repurchase programs.
In April 2026, the board authorized a new program allowing for up to an additional $3.0 billion in share buybacks.
REGN’s Key Pipeline and Regulatory Updates
In April 2026, the FDA and European Commission approved Dupixent for the treatment of chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) in children aged two to 11 years who remain symptomatic despite antihistamine treatment. This expands the previous approvals in the United States and EU for CSU in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older.
In February 2026, the FDA approved Dupixent as the first and only medicine for the treatment of adults and children aged six years and older with allergic fungal rhinosinusitis.
In April 2026, the FDA approved extending Eylea HD dosing intervals up to 20 weeks for wAMD and DME patients after one year of sustained response, further enhancing its dosing flexibility among anti-VEGF therapies.
The company also resubmitted its application for the Eylea HD pre-filled syringe (PFS) at the Bloomington, Indiana site (formerly Catalent Indiana LLC), now fully owned and operated by Novo Nordisk, following a re-inspection.
A decision on a second PFS manufacturing application was not made by the April 2026 target action date and remains under review. REGN expects a regulatory update on one or both applications in the second quarter of 2026.
The FDA recently granted accelerated approval to Otarmeni (lunsotogene parvec, formerly DB-OTO), the first gene therapy cleared under the FDA Commissioner’s National Priority Voucher Program. The adeno-associated virus-based treatment is indicated for pediatric and adult patients with severe-to-profound hearing loss caused by OTOF gene variants.
The company submitted a new drug application seeking FDA approval of cemdisiran in myasthenia gravis using a rare pediatric disease priority review voucher.

However, Eylea sales remain under pressure amid intensifying competition from Roche’s Vabysmo, which has seen strong and rapid uptake. Vabysmo was designed to inhibit both Ang-2 and VEGF-A pathways, offering a differentiated mechanism that has resonated with physicians.
Regeneron is actively strengthening its oncology portfolio as well to further diversify its revenue base. The company’s oncology franchise recently gained momentum following the label expansion of Libtayo, helping offset headwinds in the ophthalmology segment.

Regeneron Q1 Earnings Top, Sales Up on Dupixent & Eylea HD Strength (Revised)

Eli Lilly LLY announced that it has agreed to acquire three privately held biotech companies as it looks to expand its pipeline in vaccines and infectious diseases. The transactions, valued at about $3.83 billion in total, mark one of the company’s biggest pushes outside its core therapeutic areas of obesity, diabetes and oncology.
Lilly plans to acquire Curevo, LimmaTech Biologics and Vaccine Company, each of which brings vaccine candidates and platform technologies targeting infectious diseases with significant unmet need.
Details of Lilly’s Three Vaccine Acquisitions
The company is acquiring Curevo in a deal valued at up to $1.5 billion. This deal centers on Curevo’s lead asset, amezosvatein, a phase III-ready vaccine candidate for the prevention of shingles in adults. Based on encouraging data from a mid-stage study, Lilly believes the program could offer strong efficacy with improved tolerability compared with existing shingles vaccines.
Lilly is also acquiring LimmaTech Biologics in a deal valued at up to $780 million. Through the acquisition, Lilly will gain access to a proprietary vaccine platform focused on preventing bacterial infections and addressing antimicrobial resistance. LimmaTech’s pipeline includes multiple vaccine candidates, including lead program LTB-SA7, which is in early-stage development for Staphylococcus aureus, the leading cause of surgical-site infections.
The company is further acquiring the Vaccine Company in a deal valued at up to $1.55 billion. Through the acquisition, Lilly will gain access to a broad preclinical vaccine pipeline spanning multiple viral pathogens. Vaccine Company’s lead program is a phase I-ready vaccine candidate targeting Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), positioning LLY to expand into vaccines for virus-associated infectious diseases and cancers.

How Does This Buying Spree Benefit LLY?
Unlike some of its peers, such as Bristol Myers Squibb BMY and Sanofi SNY, which have faced investor pressure to pursue acquisitions to offset looming patent expirations, Lilly is entering this acquisition cycle from a position of strength. Strong demand for blockbuster GLP-1 medicines Mounjaro and Zepbound has significantly boosted the company’s revenue base and cash generation, helping the company become the first pharmaceutical company to reach a $1 trillion market capitalization milestone.
The rationale behind Lilly’s latest vaccine deals appears strategic rather than defensive. While obesity and diabetes remain its primary growth drivers, Lilly has steadily expanded into newer therapeutic areas through internal pipeline development and business development activities. Recent approvals for immunology drugs Omvoh and Ebglyss, oncology medicine Jaypirca and Alzheimer’s treatment Kisunla reflect the company’s broader effort to diversify beyond its core cardiometabolic franchise.
The planned acquisitions of Curevo, LimmaTech Biologics and Vaccine Company further support this strategy by establishing a stronger foothold in vaccines and infectious diseases — areas where Lilly has historically maintained a limited presence. The deals also provide Lilly with exposure to multiple vaccine technologies spanning shingles, bacterial infections and viral pathogens, potentially creating a broader long-term growth platform.
Once completed, the three vaccine acquisitions would extend Lilly’s aggressive dealmaking streak in 2026. Earlier this year, the company announced plans to acquire Ventyx Biosciences in a $1.2 billion deal aimed at expanding its pipeline of oral therapies for inflammatory diseases. Lilly also announced plans to acquire Orna Therapeutics for up to $2.4 billion to strengthen its in vivo CAR-T pipeline. In March, the company announced its intent to acquire neuroscience biotech Centessa Pharmaceuticals in a $7.8 billion deal.
More recently, Lilly agreed to acquire Kelonia Therapeutics in a deal valued at up to $7 billion and Ajax Therapeutics for up to $2.3 billion to further expand its oncology pipeline. These transactions highlight the company’s continued interest in small biotechs with promising and innovative assets.
