In light of the company's strong financial performance, analysts took to boosting their price targets on Halliburton stock:
RBC Capital and raised its price target to $31 from $26.
HSBC upgraded Halliburton to buy from hold and lifted its price target to $30 from $23.
Stifel raised the price target on Halliburton to $32 from $27.

It's one of the biggest beneficiaries of a massive artificial intelligence (AI) tailwind.
Is investing in this top AI stock free money? It might be easy to jump to that conclusion. However, I wouldn't go that far. But while investing in Microsoft stock isn't free money, I think it's a smart money move.

Microsoft's appeal
It's not an exaggeration to say that Microsoft is a financial fortress. The tech giant generated a whopping $281.7 billion and earnings of $101.8 billion in fiscal year 2025, which ended June 30, 2025. Both the top and bottom lines increased by 15% year over year. Microsoft isn't just huge, it's nimble.
What's driving this impressive growth? In large part, AI. In my view, Microsoft made a brilliant move a few years ago by investing in and partnering with OpenAI. Today, the company has OpenAI's GPT-5 large language model (LLM) integrated throughout its product lineup. This integration is paying off handsomely.
The demand for anything and everything AI-related has provided a huge catalyst for Microsoft's cloud services. In its latest quarter, the company's Intelligent Cloud segment (which includes Azure) revenue soared 26% year over year.
Microsoft is also staking a claim in one of the most exciting new opportunities -- quantum computing. Earlier this year, the company introduced its Majorana 1 quantum chip powered by a new type of material called a topoconductor. Microsoft believes that its topoconductor architecture could enable squeezing 1 million qubits (the basic unit of information in quantum computing) on a single chip. This could pave the way for large-scale quantum computers that can be used in a wide variety of applications.
A Wall Street darling
Microsoft's share price has more than doubled over the last three years. Its stock is up over 20% in 2025. Wall Street thinks there's more room to run.
The consensus 12-month price target for Microsoft reflects an upside potential of roughly 19%. Several analysts with the most recent updates are even more bullish. For example, Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) projects that Microsoft's stock will climb 21%. Stifel's (NYSE: SF) price target is more than 25% above Microsoft's current share price.
What's especially impressive to me is how widespread the positive sentiment about Microsoft is on Wall Street. Of the 58 analysts surveyed by S&P Global (NYSE: SPGI) in October, 13 rated the stock as a "strong buy." Another 44 analysts rated Microsoft as a "buy." The sole outlier recommending holding the stock.
It's not surprising that Wall Street likes large-cap AI stocks right now. However, the enthusiasm over Microsoft is remarkable.
Smart money, not free money
I agree with the vast majority of analysts that buying Microsoft is a smart money move right now. The company's growth prospects remain strong, in my view. But investing in Microsoft is emphatically not free money. Why? Two reasons especially stand out.
First, AI infrastructure spending could slow down. Much of Microsoft's surging revenue and profits has been a direct result of customers investing heavily in developing AI applications on Azure. However, some warn that we're in an AI bubble. That list includes OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) founder Jeff Bezos.
Second, Microsoft's valuation is admittedly steep. The stock's forward price-to-earnings ratio is over 33. Any hiccup in growth could cause Microsoft's shares to tumble at that premium multiple.
Investing in stocks (or anything else, for that matter) always comes with risks. The question that investors must determine is whether or not the potential rewards make those risks worth taking. In Microsoft's case, I think the answer is a resounding "yes."

Investors cheered news from the company on the financing front, not to mention a pair of bullish analyst takes. Across the month, Iron Mountain's share price rose by more than 10%.

An ironclad investment
Early in the month, Iron Mountain announced that it was floating a new issue of senior notes.
The initial aggregate principal amount of the flotation was 750 million euros ($880 million). The company's proceeds from the notes, which mature in 2034, are to be used to retire an older set of senior notes. These securities, which bear an interest rate of just under 3.9% and are denominated in British pounds, mature this year.
The following day, Iron Mountain priced the issue. In the process, it also upsized it considerably -- typically an encouraging sign that key investors have enough confidence to buy into a larger debt pile.
The issue ballooned to an aggregate principal amount of 1.2 billion euros ($1.4 billion), with Iron Mountain placing a nearly 4.8% interest rate on the notes. The 2034 maturity was left intact, as were the company's planned use of the proceeds.
The fattened offering will bring a flood of cash into a company that's been pivoting in a direction many investors like. With the heavy demand for secure and reliable digital infrastructure to help support the artificial intelligence (AI) revolution, data center is a very appealing segment just now, and Iron Mountain has leaned hard into it.
Bearing that firmly in mind, in mid-September, Stifel analyst Shlomo Rosenbaum felt compelled to reiterate his buy recommendation and $140 price target on the stock in a new research note.
According to reports, Rosenbaum's update was based on meetings with the company's CFO Barry Hytinen.
The two men discussed the data center business in some detail; the analyst's takeaway is that the company's recent weakness in leasing such facilities is about to experience a turnaround. He speculated that 2026 should better reflect the current strong demand for such facilities. This recovery should be reflected in the fundamentals.
A new bull joins the herd
Several days after Rosenbaum's new Iron Mountain take, Jefferies initiated coverage of the stock. Analyst Jonathan Petersen launched his tracking of the REIT with a confident buy recommendation, and price target of $120 per share.
Peterson sees excellent opportunities in Iron Mountain's legacy business, according to reports. He feels that its immense customer base (of around 240,000 customers, per his research) is ripe for cross-selling opportunities across the company's numerous activities. On top of that, in his view the legacy storage business is stable and steady, providing a solid foundation for the REIT.

In trading on Thursday, shares of Stifel Financial Corporation's 4.50% Dep Shares Non-Cumulative Preferred Stock Series D (Symbol: SF.PRD) were yielding above the 6% mark based on its quarterly dividend (annualized to $1.125), with shares changing hands as low as $18.44 on the day. This compares to an average yield of 6.48% in the "Financial" preferred stock category, according to Preferred Stock Channel. As of last close, SF.PRD was trading at a 24.92% discount to its liquidation preference amount, versus the average discount of 7.83% in the "Financial" category. Stifel Financial Corporation's Non-Cumulative Preferred Stock Series D Shares Cross 6% Yield Mark

Stifel Financial Corp. SF reported key operating results for August 2025, highlighting record levels of total client and fee-based assets. Total client assets grew 8.9% year over year and 1.9% sequentially to $532.7 million. The uptick was supported by strong financial advisor recruiting and favorable equity market performance.
Fee-based client assets increased 14% from the year-ago period and 2.2% month over month, reaching $213.6 million. Within this, Private Client Group’s fee-based assets totaled $186.7 million, reflecting a 13.9% year-over-year jump and a 2.2% sequential rise.
Bank loans, net (including loans held for sale), were $21.6 million, up 6.5% from the prior-year level. Meanwhile, client money market and insured product balances fell 4% year over year and nearly 1% sequentially, largely due to lower Smart Rate balances.
The company has been witnessing steady growth in client assets and fee-based client assets over the past few years. Total client assets and fee-based client assets have grown at a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.8% and 10.5%, respectively, as of the end of 2024.
Going forward, with an expanding advisor base and continued gains in fee-based flows, Stifel appears well-positioned to sustain growth through the second half of 2025, assuming markets remain favorable.
Performance of Other Finance Firms
Stifel’s peers, such as Charles Schwab Corp. SCHW and Interactive Brokers IBKR, have also been experiencing strong client activity and asset growth.
Charles Schwab’s total client assets were $11.23 trillion in August 2025, up 15.3% year over year and 2.4% from July. Core net new assets rose 35.4% year over year to $44.4 billion, though down 5.3% sequentially. Advisory assets totaled $5.66 trillion, representing 14.8% growth from the prior year. Over the past five years (ending 2024), Schwab’s client assets recorded an impressive CAGR of 20.1%, driven by strategic acquisitions and market appreciation.
Interactive Brokers reported 3.49 million Daily Average Revenue Trades (DARTs) in August 2025, rising 29% year over year despite a marginal sequential decline. Total customer accounts increased 32% year over year to 4.05 million, driven by global expansion, innovative product launches and rising investor participation. The CAGR of client DARTs of Interactive Brokers stands at 10.3% over the last five years (2019–2024), with momentum continuing in the first half of 2025.

Stifel's August Client Assets Hit Record Highs: Can Growth Continue?

An upbeat analyst note on the looming future of the semiconductor industry and associated components makers, a researcher flagged Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU) as being a particularly undervalued title in that grouping. Following that, investors pounced on the chipmaker's stock to leave it with a nearly 3% price gain on the day. That was well above the 0.3% rise of the S&P 500 index.
Singled out as a star
The researcher in question was Stifel, which covered a clutch of stocks in that new report. It devoted quite a bit of ink to Micron, suggesting the stock had notable upside despite zooming almost 57% higher year to date in price.

According to reports, Stifel intimated that the hyped-up hyperscaler customer segment has even more potential than many realize. Forecasts for the segment indicate very robust growth in hyperscalers, which are set to be the workhorses of the artificial intelligence (AI) revolution.
Stifel said that most of Micron's revenue derives from the data center space. This is beneficial for both revenue and profitability; the researcher pointed out that this business boasts gross margins of close to 50% for the company.
Finally, Stifel wrote, the outlook for memory pricing by the end of this year is looking more optimistic than previously.
Impressive forward growth numbers
That new take on Micron jibes with the generally optimistic tone of most analyst views these days. Collectively, the prognosticators tracking the stock are modeling sales growth of 48% this year over 2024, with per-share net income rising more than sixfold to $8.08.

Analysts See 10% Gains Ahead For ONEV

It didn't seem like many investors wanted to hop into the driver's seat with Lucid Group (NASDAQ: LCID). The maker of high-end electric vehicles (EVs) saw its share price dive by more than 4% on the day, as a reverse stock split took effect after market close, and an analyst made a bearish adjustment to his take on the company.
By comparison, the S&P 500 was in better form, with a decline of only 0.6%.

Time to split
It's tough to be bullish on a company just before a 1-for-10 reverse stock split kicks in. As this happened late Friday afternoon, Lucid stock felt like a title best avoided. After all, reverse stock splits usually occur when a company's equity has traded consistently below minimum exchange-listing requirements. That's the case with Lucid, and it wasn't pleasant to be reminded of the situation.
Given that, it was a bit surprising that only one analyst became notably more pessimistic about Lucid's future. This was Stifel's Stephen Gengaro, who before market open chopped his price target to a post-slipt $2.10 per share from his previous $3.00. He isn't losing all hope for the company, however, as he left his hold recommendation unchanged.
Gengaro made his move in consideration of Lucid's second quarter results and update, according to reports. Although the company slightly edged past the analyst's estimate for revenue, the company's gross profit and non-GAAP (adjusted) earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) missed the mark. On top of that, Lucid reduced its production guidance for this year.
Funds wanted
More positively, Gengaro waxed bullish about Lucid's cutting-edge technology and considers its foundational Air sedan and the soon-to-be introduced Gravity SUV to be fine products. Yet given the state of the company's finances, it will surely need to raise additional capital in the coming years.
