The company also owns Creole Trail pipeline, a 94-mile natural gas supply pipeline that interconnects the Sabine Pass LNG Terminal with several interstate and intrastate pipelines; and operates Corpus Christi pipeline, a 21.5-mile natural gas supply pipeline that interconnects the Corpus Christi LNG terminal with various interstate and intrastate natural gas pipelines. It is also involved in the LNG and natural gas marketing business. The company was incorporated in 1983 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.

The dividend is payable on June 15, 2026, to common stockholders of record on June 1, 2026. The Company increased its quarterly cash dividend in the fourth quarter of 2025 by $0.010 per share, marking the 58th consecutive year that the Company has increased its cash dividend to stockholders.
Cheniere Energy today announced that its Board of Directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.555 per common share payable on May 19, 2026 to shareholders of record as of the close of business on May 11, 2026.
Wells Fargo today announced its board of directors approved a quarterly common stock dividend of $0.45 per share, payable June 1, 2026, to stockholders of record on May 8, 2026.
Williams' board of directors has approved a regular dividend of $0.525 per share, or $2.10 annualized, on the company's common stock, payable on June 29, 2026, to holders of record at the close of business on June 12, 2026. Filling the gap
The Middle Eastern nation of Qatar is a global leader in LNG. Qatar's North Field is the largest non-associated natural gas field in the world, accounting for about 10% of the world's known gas reserves. The country has spent decades developing this resource by building LNG facilities. It currently operates 14 trains with an annual capacity of 77 million tonnes, or about 20% of global supplies. Qatar currently isn't exporting LNG due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Further, Iran attacked and damaged two LNG trains (U.S. oil giant ExxonMobil owns an interest in both facilities), which will take three to five years to repair.
The war has created a massive LNG supply gap, which U.S. LNG exporters are currently filling. U.S. LNG exporters are on pace to load a record 32.2 million metric tons of LNG during the first four months of this year, a 28% increase from last year. They're on track to ship over 7 million metric tons this month, completely offsetting the 6.9 million tons of displaced supply from Qatar.
Venture Global's (NYSE: VG) Plaquemines LNG terminal has played a crucial role in helping supply the world with much-needed LNG. It loaded almost 6.5 million tons of LNG in the first quarter, a 240% increase from last year. Meanwhile, Cheniere Energy's (NYSE: LNG) Sabine Pass terminal accounted for a quarter of all U.S. LNG exports in the first quarter (7.9 million tons). Additionally, ExxonMobil and QatarEnergy recently shipped the first LNG cargo from their Golden Pass terminal on the U.S. Gulf Coast.
What this means for your portfolio
The war-fueled surge in LNG prices will affect companies operating in countries that rely on LNG to fuel their economies. China, Japan, India, and Europe are among the biggest global LNG import markets. Last year, Europe's LNG imports soared 30% as the continent continued to reduce its reliance on Russian natural gas. Europe was the primary destination of U.S. LNG exports this year (72% of the total). Utilities and large manufacturers across Europe and Asia will feel the impact of higher LNG prices this year, eroding profit margins.
While the stock prices of companies tied to LNG and energy consumption in Europe and Asia will take a hit, U.S. energy companies will get a notable boost. LNG operators Venture Global and Cheniere will deliver higher earnings from the combination of increased volumes and LNG pricing on non-contracted volumes. In addition to the near-term impact of the supply disruption, these companies should benefit from higher future demand as countries seek to diversify their supply away from the Middle East. That should enable them to approve additional capacity expansions in the coming years.
Meanwhile, natural gas pipeline operators will see higher volumes this year. For example, leading U.S. gas pipeline company Kinder Morgan (NYSE: KMI) got a war-fueled boost in the first quarter. Natural gas transportation volumes jumped 8% in the first quarter, primarily due to LNG deliveries on the Tennessee Gas Pipeline. Kinder Morgan also noted that it expects the supply disruption in the Middle East to drive additional demand for U.S. LNG, creating more opportunities to expand its gas pipeline infrastructure.
LNG: The overlooked energy trade
Most investors have focused on the impact the war is having on the oil market. However, it's having an equally meaningful impact on LNG. Major LNG importers will feel the pinch of higher prices while U.S. exporters are seeing a boom. LNG terminal operators and gas pipeline companies should continue to benefit long after the war ends as LNG importers seek to source more of their volumes from the U.S. That makes them compelling long-term investment opportunities.

Rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East are once again reshaping the global energy markets, particularly the liquefied natural gas (“LNG”) landscape. Supply disruptions in key exporting regions, combined with shipping risks through critical routes like the Strait of Hormuz, have tightened global LNG availability. This has created a favorable backdrop for U.S.-based exporters like Cheniere Energy LNG, which stands to benefit from sustained international demand and higher realized prices. While companies like Venture Global VG and Chevron CVX also operate in the LNG space, Cheniere’s positioning as a leading U.S. exporter gives it a unique edge in capitalizing on current market dynamics.
Middle East Tensions Driving LNG Demand
The ongoing instability in the Middle East is contributing to a structural tightening of LNG supply. Disruptions in Qatar — one of the world’s largest LNG exporters — along with shipping uncertainties, have reduced the available global supply. At the same time, Europe’s gas storage levels remain significantly below normal, forcing early and aggressive restocking ahead of winter. This combination is pushing international LNG prices higher, even as U.S. natural gas prices remain relatively subdued.
Unlike oil, LNG requires specialized infrastructure for transport, which limits how quickly supply can respond. This creates a strong incentive for buyers in Europe and Asia to secure long-term contracts from reliable suppliers like Cheniere Energy. While Venture Global continues to expand its modular LNG operations and Chevron leverages its large-scale projects in Australia, Cheniere Energy’s established export infrastructure positions it as a key supplier in this tightening market. In particular, the company’s scale and contract visibility stand out.
Cheniere Energy’s Price Performance Lags Peers
Despite favorable industry dynamics, Cheniere’s stock performance has been lackluster. Shares of the company are up about 13% over the past year, significantly trailing Venture Global, which has gained more than 37%, and Chevron, which is up 36.6%. This divergence suggests that while investors recognize the broader natural gas export opportunity, they may already be pricing in stronger growth expectations for VG and the diversified strength of CVX.

However, this relative underperformance could also present an opportunity. While Venture Global’s rapid expansion and Chevron’s integrated model continue to attract investors, Cheniere Energy offers a more focused exposure to U.S. LNG exports. The current geopolitical environment could help narrow this performance gap if earnings continue to improve.
Strong Earnings Growth Outlook
Cheniere’s earnings outlook remains solid, supported by favorable pricing and expanding capacity. The Zacks Consensus Estimate projects earnings growth of 27% in 2026, followed by another 10% increase in 2027. This growth is driven not only by higher LNG prices but also by improved operational efficiency and expanding export capacity.

The company’s financial performance already reflects these strengths. In 2025, Cheniere reported strong gains, with revenues rising sharply and net income increasing significantly, supported by higher realized prices and disciplined cost management. According to its latest presentation, adjusted EBITDA reached nearly $6.9 billion for the year, highlighting strong operating leverage. In other words, Cheniere Energy offers a balance of growth visibility and operational stability, compared with Venture Global’s aggressive expansion strategy and Chevron’s diversified earnings base.

Cheniere Energy’s Valuation and Competitive Positioning
From a valuation standpoint, Cheniere looks interesting. The stock is priced at a discount to Chevron on a forward price-to-earnings basis but commands a premium relative to Venture Global. This reflects its established market position and stable cash flows, supported by long-term contracts covering the majority of its capacity.

While VG’s lower valuation may appeal to growth-oriented investors, and CVX offers diversification and dividend stability, Cheniere Energy provides a more direct play on global LNG demand. Still, compared with Venture Global and Chevron, Cheniere’s balance of stability and growth remains compelling.

Is Cheniere Energy the LNG Stock to Buy on Mideast Tension?

Wall Street recorded a strong performance last week, with benchmark indexes like the Nasdaq Composite, the S&P 500, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 4.1%, 3.1% and 2.7%, respectively. Last week's gains were largely supported by easing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Oil prices, which had been highly volatile, declined sharply midweek before stabilizing, further boosting market sentiment. Economic data also came in mixed, with inflation readings broadly in line with expectations, consumer sentiment weakened, and GDP growth for late 2025 revised lower.
The headline Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.9% in March, pushing the year-over-year inflation rate to 3.3%. This jump was mostly fueled by a 10.9% spike in energy prices linked to the conflict. However, core CPI remained stable with a 0.2% monthly increase. Consumer confidence struggled, with the University of Michigan sentiment index plunging to a historic low of 47.6% in April. U.S. economic growth slowed more than previously estimated in the fourth quarter, according to the report published by the Commerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis. The gross domestic product rate was estimated to have increased at a downwardly ‌revised 0.5% annualized rate. Currently, markets are more sensitive to geopolitical developments than to mixed economic fundamentals.

Cheniere Energy’s recent performance reflects these favorable conditions. In 2025, revenues increased 27% and net income rose 64%, even though LNG volumes saw only modest growth. Higher realized prices and better cost control were the main drivers. Cheniere is also expanding its capacity through projects like Corpus Christi Stage 3, while maintaining a strong pipeline of future developments. This gives it clear visibility into long-term growth tied to global LNG demand.
Financially, Cheniere Energy is in a stronger position as its balance sheet also improved in 2025. Net interest expense fell to $948 million (or 4.7% of revenues) from $1 billion (6.4% of revenues) in 2024, while long-term debt remained stable at $22.5 billion. Lower financing costs improve the company’s ability to support future expansion projects. At the same time, disciplined execution has helped strengthen cash flows. However, with the stock already seeing a strong run-up in recent months, much of the near-term upside from higher LNG prices may be reflected in its valuation. Even so, tight global supply and steady demand should continue to support earnings going forward.
While Cheniere Energy remains a key beneficiary of this tightening market, it is not the only company positioned to gain. Several other LNG-focused players are also well placed to benefit from the current supply crunch and sustained global demand.
Other LNG Stocks to Focus on Amid Global Supply Crunch
Venture Global VG: It is a U.S.-based producer and exporter focused on delivering low-cost LNG to global markets. Venture Global operates a vertically integrated model spanning production, transport, shipping and regasification, with key projects along the Gulf Coast. With capacity exceeding 100 million tons per annum across operating, construction and development stages, Venture Global is rapidly scaling its presence in the LNG market. Its modular approach sets it apart. Pre-built liquefaction units are assembled offsite and installed quickly, improving safety, lowering costs and reducing execution risks. This model supports faster project timelines and consistent delivery, helping expand access to cleaner energy worldwide.
Chevron CVX: This is another world-class operator of LNG. The giant Gorgon and Wheatstone developments in Australia are part of Chevron’s long-term strategy and are its flagship LNG developments. These mega projects allow the supermajor to tap the strong Asian LNG demand. Combined, these projects have an annual LNG production capacity exceeding 24 million metric tons. Chevron is the operator of both projects, with a stake of 64.14% in Wheatstone and 47.3% in the Gorgon development.

This is How Cheniere Energy Benefits From Tight LNG Supply

With the conflict in the Persian Gulf still ongoing, it's a good idea to buy some protection for a portfolio in case of an extended conflict, or even a relatively short one that results in lasting structural damage to the economic activity that preceded it.

Three oil stocks to benefit if the price of oil spikes even higher
It's hard not to come across as Captain Obvious here, but oil and gas exploration and production companies are a good place to start, particularly those operating in the U.S., such as Permian Basin-focused Devon Energy (NYSE: DVN) and Diamondback Energy (NASDAQ: FANG). Those two companies are not only attractive as a tactical way to manage the risk of an oil price spike; they also look like a great value based on the price of oil before the conflict.
The third is integrated major Chevron (NYSE: CVX). Its upstream operations (exploration and production) benefit from a higher price of oil, and its downstream operations (refining) are also benefiting from the widening in the crack spread (difference between crude oil price and refined product price) caused by the difficulty Asian refiners are having obtaining crude oil and the lack of refined product.
Petroleum product refiners
Speaking of the crack spread, the most widely followed one is the 3-2-1 spread (the spread between the cost of three barrels of crude and two barrels of gasoline plus one barrel of diesel), and it's blown up to just over $54 from less than $20 at the start of the year.
That's great news for refiners like Valero Energy (NYSE: VLO) and PBF Energy (NYSE: PBF), who source crude from the U.S. regardless of its price. The latter is more of a pure-play refiner (Valero also has a renewable diesel business and ethanol operations), and PBF has outperformed the market. These stocks are likely to outperform as long as the crack spread remains wide and there's no demand destruction for transportation products (gasoline, etc.) caused by high prices.
Don't forget liquefied natural gas (LNG)
According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), 34% of global crude oil trade passes through the Strait of Hormuz, and 20% of global LNG trade does too. Almost 90% of LNG volume through the Strait goes to Asia, and the rest to Europe. LNG could also take longer to recover than oil, even if the Strait is opened, particularly if the world's largest LNG export facility, Ras Laffan in Qatar, continues to suffer damage.
Three companies that can help fill the LNG supply gap created by the Strait blockade. Woodside Energy Group (NYSE: WDS) is an Australian LNG producer (with a 4.5% dividend yield and a U.S. listing) and is ideally positioned to supply LNG to Asian markets.
Cheniere Energy (NYSE: LNG) is already the largest U.S. LNG exporter, and although it's operating at maximum capacity now, it's in a multiyear process of expanding its export capacity with a new LNG train (a unit to liquefy natural gas) expected to ramp production imminently.
The third LNG (and also crude oil) play is Norway's Equinor (NYSE: EQNR), a leading LNG exporter with assets off Norway's coast. It will help fill the gap for European countries previously supplied with LNG through the Strait.
Shipping and fertilizers
Speaking of Norway and LNG, shipping company Flex LNG (NYSE: FLNG) is also well positioned to benefit from higher LNG shipping rates and demand for its modern, fuel-efficient fleet. If LNG can't reach Asia through the Strait, it's likely to be shipped over much longer distances – great news for shipping companies, daily rates, and fleet utilization.
Finally, it isn't just crude oil, LNG, and refined petroleum products that go through the Strait. About a third of global seaborne fertilizer flows through the Strait, according to the United Nations. Gas is the major component of fertilizer, and the lack of gas and fertilizer through the Strait means that a U.S.-focused ferrilizer producer like CF Industries (NYSE: CF) will benefit from its manufacturing facilities in the West as well as its supply of gas from the U.S.

FMDE, LNG, SPG, CTVA: Large Inflows Detected at ETF

Europe is entering a crucial phase for natural gas. Winter is over, but storage levels across the region remain much lower than normal. Governments are already urging utilities and energy companies to refill inventories early so they are not caught short before next winter. At the same time, disruptions in Qatar, Australia and the Strait of Hormuz have tightened global LNG supply. That combination is creating a stronger backdrop for U.S. natural gas producers and exporters. Even though Henry Hub prices remain near $3 per MMBtu, theglobal marketis showing signs that demand for U.S. LNG could stay firm through the rest of 2026.
At this stage, investors may want to stay focused on natural gas names with strong exposure to production growth and LNG exports, including EQT Corporation EQT, Cheniere Energy LNG and Comstock Resources CRK.
Europe Needs to Refill Quickly
Europe entered spring with gas storage levels well below normal. EU inventories were only around 28% full near the end of March, while the Netherlands was down to just 6%. Policymakers have already warned that waiting too long to refill storage could lead to a rush for supply later in the year.
That matters because Europe still depends heavily on imported LNG. If storage buying begins early and continues through the summer, it could create steady demand for U.S. cargoes. European gas prices are already far above U.S. levels, with the Dutch benchmark trading close to six times Henry Hub prices. The price gap gives U.S. LNG exporters a strong incentive to keep volumes flowing overseas.
Global Supply Problems Are Not Going Away
The supply picture has become more difficult after damage to Qatar’s LNG facilities and shipping disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz. Qatar is one of the world’s largest LNG suppliers, and any outage there has an immediate effect on Europe and Asia.
Australian LNG problems are adding to the pressure. Chevron said its Wheatstone LNG plant could take weeks to return to full output, while Woodside’s Karratha facility is still facing cyclone-related disruptions. Analysts have already cut their 2026 LNG supply forecasts, with some expecting up to 35 million tons of supply to disappear from the market.
Why U.S. Natural Gas Stocks Could Benefit
U.S. export terminals are already running near full capacity. Strong overseas demand continues to support domestic producers and exporters. Companies with significant LNG export infrastructure and direct exposure to global gas markets stand to benefit the most. Producers may also gain if sustained export demand gradually lifts domestic gas prices. Even if mild U.S. weather caps near-term price upside, tighter global balances could create a more favorable backdrop for natural gas stocks than in recent months.
Europe’s refill season is just getting underway, and several uncertainties remain. Weather patterns, storage levels and geopolitical developments will be key to watch. Still, the overall setup appears more supportive than it did earlier this year.
3 Stocks to Monitor
For natural gas-focused investors, this may be a good time to watch companies that can benefit from stronger LNG exports and firmer gas demand. EQT Corporation, Cheniere Energy and Comstock Resources remain three names worth focusing on as the global gas market continues to tighten.
EQT: It is the premier natural gas producer in the domestic market based on average daily sales volumes. With primary emphasis on the Appalachian Basin, spanning Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, the company’s share of natural gas in its overall production/sales is more than 90%.
EQT beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate for earnings in each of the last four quarters. The natural gas producer, with a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold), has a trailing four-quarter earnings surprise of roughly 13%, on average. You can see the complete list of today’s Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here.
Cheniere Energy: It is a leading U.S. LNG producer and exporter, operating large-scale facilities along the Gulf Coast. Since starting exports in 2016, it has grown into the largest LNG producer in the United States, supplying customers across more than 40 global markets with reliable and cleaner-burning energy.
Backed by firm gas supply agreements for its Sabine Pass and Corpus Christi facilities, this Zacks Rank #3 company enjoys strong cash flow visibility and solid long-term growth prospects. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for Cheniere Energy’s 2026 earnings per share indicates 26.1% year-over-year growth.
Comstock Resources: It is an independent natural gas producer based in Frisco, TX, with operations concentrated in north Louisiana and East Texas. Comstock Resources — currently a #3 Ranked stock — is fully focused on developing the Haynesville and Bossier shales, two of the largest gas plays in the United States.
CRK holds a large acreage position across Haynesville, giving it direct exposure to Gulf Coast LNG demand growth. Its production is 100% natural gas, making it one of the most gas-levered E&Ps in the sector. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for Comstock Resources’ 2026 earnings per share indicates 35.2% year-over-year surge. The firm has a trailing four-quarter earnings surprise of roughly 56.9%, on average.
