The stock price declined 20.6% on June 3. Since then, the stock price has lost 22%. It closed yesterday at $9.06, up 0.8%.

Recurring revenues were up 10% to $51.9 million, accounting for nearly 49.2% of total revenues, improving long-term visibility.
Management remains focused on installed base expansion, new client acquisition and scaling of the U.S. market. CGNT noted that within the federal vertical, it has advanced several opportunities through proof of concepts and live operational demonstrations. It now has a maturing pipeline, including opportunities developed directly and via collaborations. CGNT added that it expects to generate $20 million in deals and considers the U.S. security market a significant long-term opportunity.
The integration of AI into investigative workflows is emerging as a key differentiator. Cognyte is embedding AI into its operational systems platform, which creates a competitive moat.

The company’s backlog and remaining performance obligations (“RPO”) strengthen revenue visibility. Total RPO was $528.8 million, with a backlog of $399.8 million at the end of the fiscal first quarter. Total RPO is the sum of contract liabilities and backlog.
As revenues scale, profitability is also improving. Non-GAAP gross margin expanded by 100 basis points to 72.9%. Non-GAAP operating income rose 41.5% to $10.7 million, while adjusted EBITDA grew 31.5% to $13.6 million.
The company ended the quarter with $109.2 million in cash and no debt, maintaining a strong balance sheet. A strong balance sheet provides flexibility for acquisitions, innovation and shareholder returns. The company is also actively returning capital through share buybacks, signaling confidence in its growth. CGNT repurchased stock worth $8.2 million in the fiscal first quarter.
The Bear Case for CGNT
Despite these positives, several concerns remain. The company reported a negative operating cash flow of $4.7 million in the quarter. The performance was affected by the transition to a subscription model, forex dynamics and inventory levels. Challenges associated with the shift to a subscription model are that revenues are recognized over time rather than upfront. The transition may lead to temporary pressure on revenue growth and increased volatility in key financial metrics.
Moreover, the company’s expansion in the U.S. market, although promising, is still in its early stages and will require consistent execution to deliver results.
Macro uncertainty, competition, rising operating expenses, forex headwinds and dependence on government spending cycles remain concerns.
The company has reiterated its fiscal 2027 guidance. Revenues are expected to be $448 million (+/-3%) compared with $400 million in fiscal 2026.

On June 3, 2026, Lockheed Martin, along with L3Harris Technologies LHX and the U.S. Army, completed a key propulsion test for its Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) Increment 4 program. That changes this week. SpaceX is targeting a Nasdaq debut on June 12th under the ticker SPCX, with pricing expected after the close on June 11th, an offering of roughly 557 million shares at about $135 each, aiming to raise around $75 billion at a $1.75 trillion valuation.
That would make it the largest IPO in history by a wide margin. Whatever one thinks of the valuation, the event is a genuine milestone, and it's worth thinking carefully about what it means for the public companies that have been quietly building this industry alongside Elon Musk's juggernaut.
Here's the part that matters most for investors who can't get a meaningful allocation in the SpaceX deal itself: a listing of this magnitude gives the entire commercial space sector its first true large-cap benchmark.
Until now, public market investors have had no clean reference point for how to value a vertically integrated space business. Once SPCX is trading and analysts are publishing models, every other space stock gets repriced relative to it — and the early evidence suggests that repricing tends to run in one direction. Pure-play names have already been climbing in anticipation.
Space Stocks to Watch
The clearest beneficiary is Rocket Lab, which has matured from a scrappy small-satellite launcher into something approaching a vertically integrated space prime. Its first-quarter 2026 results were genuinely impressive: record revenue of $200.3 million, up 63.5% year over year, a record GAAP gross margin of 38.2%, and a record backlog of $2.2 billion.
The more telling shift is beneath the headline — Space Systems has now overtaken Launch Services as the larger revenue contributor, which speaks to a more diversified, higher-margin business than the "rocket company" label implies. The real catalyst ahead is Neutron, Rocket Lab's medium-lift reusable rocket targeted for a late-2026 debut, which would let the company compete for the larger payloads and constellation contracts that have historically gone to SpaceX.
The company signed its largest launch contract ever during the quarter — five dedicated Neutron missions with a confidential customer — alongside 31 new Electron and HASTE bookings. The caveat, and it's an important one, is valuation: at roughly 94 times sales, RKLB prices in a great deal of future success, and any slip in Neutron's schedule would sting.
A very different kind of bet is AST SpaceMobile, which is attempting something audacious — a space-based cellular network that connects directly to ordinary, unmodified smartphones, eliminating dead zones anywhere on Earth.
The company has assembled nearly 60 mobile network operator partners covering more than 3 billion subscribers and reaffirmed full-year 2026 revenue guidance of $150 million to $200 million. Backed by AT&T and Vodafone, with a fortified balance sheet, AST represents the "new category" thesis in its purest form: if direct-to-device connectivity works at scale, the addressable market is staggering.
The flip side is execution risk on a knife's edge — the company needs to launch dozens of its second-generation satellites this year, and every delay pushes the revenue ramp further out. It also faces the uncomfortable reality of competing with Starlink's own direct-to-cell ambitions. This is a high-conviction, high-volatility name; the stock's roughly 265% gain over the past year tells you the market is already dreaming big.
For investors who want exposure with a slightly clearer line of sight to profitability, Intuitive Machines deserves a look. The lunar lander and space-infrastructure company guided 2026 revenue of up to roughly $1 billion against a backlog approaching $1.1 billion anchored by NASA and defense contracts, and stands closest to profitability among the major pure plays.
NASA's Artemis program is creating entirely new commercial categories — lunar landers, surface communications, even lunar positioning — with a government spending pipeline that runs well into the next decade. The risk here is timing: lunar missions have a long history of slipping, and guidance tends to follow the launch cadence. Successful landings have been the right moments to lean in; slippage has been the time to step back.
There are other ways to play the theme, too. Earth-observation specialist Planet Labs has seen its remaining performance obligations surge on defense and intelligence contracts with agencies including the NRO and NATO. And for those who'd rather not pick a single winner in a field this young, the established defense primes with deep space franchises — names like Lockheed Martin and L3Harris — offer space exposure wrapped in real earnings and dividends.
Bottom Line
Of course, most of the pure-play names are not yet consistently profitable and trade at multiples that assume years of flawless execution. And they are exquisitely sensitive to sentiment — a recent Blue Origin launch failure knocked the group down sharply in a single session, a reminder that one bad headline can erase weeks of gains.
There's also a real "buy the rumor, sell the news" risk around the IPO itself; it would not be surprising to see space stocks give back some of their pre-listing enthusiasm once SPCX actually begins trading. None of this invalidates the long-term thesis, but it does argue for discipline, position sizing, and a genuine tolerance for volatility.
Still, the space economy is transitioning from a government-funded curiosity into a genuine commercial industry, and the SpaceX IPO is the clearest signal yet that public markets are ready to fund the next chapter.

The company signed its largest launch contract ever during the quarter — five dedicated Neutron missions with a confidential customer — alongside 31 new Electron and HASTE bookings. The caveat, and it's an important one, is valuation: at roughly 94 times sales, RKLB prices in a great deal of future success, and any slip in Neutron's schedule would sting.
A very different kind of bet is AST SpaceMobile ASTS, which is attempting something audacious — a space-based cellular network that connects directly to ordinary, unmodified smartphones, eliminating dead zones anywhere on Earth.
The company has assembled nearly 60 mobile network operator partners covering more than 3 billion subscribers and reaffirmed full-year 2026 revenue guidance of $150 million to $200 million. Backed by AT&T and Vodafone, with a fortified balance sheet, AST represents the "new category" thesis in its purest form: if direct-to-device connectivity works at scale, the addressable market is staggering.

The flip side is execution risk on a knife's edge — the company needs to launch dozens of its second-generation satellites this year, and every delay pushes the revenue ramp further out. It also faces the uncomfortable reality of competing with Starlink's own direct-to-cell ambitions. This is a high-conviction, high-volatility name; the stock's roughly 265% gain over the past year tells you the market is already dreaming big.
For investors who want exposure with a slightly clearer line of sight to profitability, Intuitive Machines LUNR deserves a look. The lunar lander and space-infrastructure company guided 2026 revenue of up to roughly $1 billion against a backlog approaching $1.1 billion anchored by NASA and defense contracts, and stands closest to profitability among the major pure plays.

NASA's Artemis program is creating entirely new commercial categories — lunar landers, surface communications, even lunar positioning — with a government spending pipeline that runs well into the next decade. The risk here is timing: lunar missions have a long history of slipping, and guidance tends to follow the launch cadence. Successful landings have been the right moments to lean in; slippage has been the time to step back.
There are other ways to play the theme, too. Earth-observation specialist Planet Labs PL has seen its remaining performance obligations surge on defense and intelligence contracts with agencies including the NRO and NATO. And for those who'd rather not pick a single winner in a field this young, the established defense primes with deep space franchises — names like Lockheed Martin LMT and L3Harris LHX — offer space exposure wrapped in real earnings and dividends.
Bottom Line
Of course, most of the pure-play names are not yet consistently profitable and trade at multiples that assume years of flawless execution. And they are exquisitely sensitive to sentiment — a recent Blue Origin launch failure knocked the group down sharply in a single session, a reminder that one bad headline can erase weeks of gains.
There's also a real "buy the rumor, sell the news" risk around the IPO itself; it would not be surprising to see space stocks give back some of their pre-listing enthusiasm once SPCX actually begins trading. None of this invalidates the long-term thesis, but it does argue for discipline, position sizing, and a genuine tolerance for volatility.
Still, the space economy is transitioning from a government-funded curiosity into a genuine commercial industry, and the SpaceX IPO is the clearest signal yet that public markets are ready to fund the next chapter.
For investors willing to accept the turbulence that comes with frontier industries, this week may be remembered as the moment the sector grew up — and the moment a handful of well-positioned public companies finally got the benchmark they needed to be taken seriously.

SpaceX Prepares to Make History: Space Stocks to Watch

OSI Systems OSIS sits at an interesting crossroads. The company is working through a Mexico program transition, yet demand indicators remain strong and management expects cash collection to improve as receivables convert into cash. At the same time, results can swing quarter to quarter based on procurement cycles, logistics constraints and product mix. That mix of visibility and variability is central to the near-term decision.
On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, OSI Systems shares have dropped 16.3% underperforming peers, including L3Harris Technologies LHX and Teledyne Technologies TDY but outperforming Leidos Holdings LDOS. YTD, shares of L3Harris and Teledyne have returned 3.4% and 21%, respectively, while Leidos fell 31.1%.

OSI Systems Backlog and Bookings Support Visibility
Demand support is hard to ignore. OSI Systems ended fiscal third-quarter 2026 with backlog of about $1.9 billion and posted a book-to-bill ratio of 1.3 times, signaling orders outpaced revenue in the period. That backlog provides a stronger visibility cushion as the Mexico Security program revenue steps down. Even with a record backlog, timing still matters because procurement decisions, project schedules and logistics can move revenue and margin recognition between quarters.
Excluding Mexico contracts in both periods, Security revenues increased 25% year over year in fiscal third-quarter 2026, supported by services, aviation products and RF-engineered solutions. Services are an important building block because they can be less dependent on large equipment cycles. In fiscal third-quarter 2026, services revenue rose to $108 million from $103 million, and year-to-date services were higher through March 2026 versus the prior-year period.
RF-engineered solutions add a longer runway. RF revenue was about $38 million in fiscal third-quarter 2026, and bookings included a homeland defense Undefinitized Contract Action with a not-to-exceed value of about $235 million for an over-the-horizon radar transmit subsystem, adding multi-year visibility.
OSIS Cash Collection Is a Potential Catalyst
Cash collection is one of the most practical swing factors in the story. Operating cash flow was about $14 million in fiscal third-quarter 2026, a figure shaped by limited collections tied to Mexico receivables during the quarter.
Shortly after quarter end, OSI Systems collected about $74 million on its largest Mexico receivable. Management expects additional collections in fiscal fourth-quarter 2026 and into fiscal 2027, which could lift cash generation as working capital normalizes.
OSI Systems Balance Sheet Flexibility Matters
The balance sheet provides room to maneuver if cash collections continue to come through. OSIS had $345 million in cash as of March 31, 2026, and net leverage of about 2.2x under its credit agreement.
That flexibility matters because incremental cash inflows can be deployed in several directions. Management has linked the setup to potential debt reduction, selective acquisitions, and funding elevated Security research and development as it works to extend platform capabilities and improve service and software attach rates.
Risks That Can Break OSIS Near-Term Prospects
However, the downside case is not abstract. Consolidated gross margin was 33% in fiscal third-quarter 2026, slightly below the prior year, as product and service mix shifts can pressure margins even when services contribute more. OSIS management has also cautioned that margins can fluctuate with mix, volume, supply chain costs, foreign exchange and tariffs, which can translate into quarterly earnings variability.
Timing risk is another pressure point. The company cited a Department of Homeland Security shutdown as a factor that delayed U.S. order activity in fiscal third-quarter 2026, and it flagged Middle East-related logistics constraints and travel restrictions as potential drivers of program delays.
Healthcare adds an additional variable. Fiscal third-quarter 2026 Healthcare revenue declined to $40.7 million from $43.7 million a year ago, and segment non-GAAP operating margin fell to 1.3% from 5.1%, reflecting sensitivity to order timing and the impact of volume swings on profitability.
The company reiterated fiscal 2026 guidance for revenues of $1.825 billion to $1.867 billion and adjusted earnings of $10.30 to $10.55 per share. Management said near-term bookings and fourth-quarter revenues could be affected by government procurement timing and conflicts in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, a Value Score of C suggests OSIS shares are overvalued currently. OSI Systems is trading at about 1.83x forward 12-month sales lower than Leidos’ 0.85X.

OSI Systems’ prospects depends on the possibility of backlog converting into revenues smoothly over the next few quarters, rather than arriving in lumpy bursts. It is also worth watching whether services growth stays consistent, and whether RF program funding and milestones progress in a steady cadence, given the multi-year nature of recent defense work. Moreover, a stretched valuation is a concern for investors.

Can Financial Investigations Become Cognyte's Next Major Growth Engine?

Investors may like SpaceX’s three innovative businesses and be intrigued by leader Elon Musk’s ambitions.
It seems as if everyone's talking about the upcoming SpaceX initial public offering -- and this is for a few reasons.
First, Elon Musk is the company's founder, and he's known for aiming high when it comes to innovation -- we've seen this at his other company, Tesla, where Musk is working to develop fully autonomous vehicles. Not everyone is a fan of Musk, but his ambitions generally intrigue a fair share of investors. Second, SpaceX includes three exciting tech businesses -- rocket launches, satellite-based internet, and artificial intelligence (AI) -- that appeal to investors seeking growth. Finally, there's the excitement factor about something huge ahead: Reportedly aiming for a valuation of nearly $2 trillion, SpaceX may launch the biggest IPO ever.

So, the SpaceX operation, which is expected to happen this month, is big news. Still, participating in the IPO or buying shares right afterward may not be the best move for every investor. It's important to remember that SpaceX, as a company heavily investing in growth and involved in certain unproven technologies, also includes a fair share of risk. But here's the good news: There may be an easy, low-risk way of gaining exposure to SpaceX. And that's through buying shares of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that may invest in the technology and industrial giant.
Here are two to consider...
1. Ark Space & Defense Innovation ETF
Ark Invest is already an investor in SpaceX through its Ark Venture fund, a fund that backs both private and public companies in highly innovative areas. So it wouldn't be surprising to see the company add shares of SpaceX once they're available to its Ark Space & Defense Innovation ETF (NYSEMKT: ARKX).
This fund invests in a variety of companies involved in areas such as intelligent devices, reusable rockets, and advanced battery technologies. Its top holding is Rocket Lab, representing more than 8% of the fund, and it's followed by chip designer Advanced Micro Devices, defense contractor L3Harris Technologies, and testing and robotics player Teradyne.
Considering Ark Invest's support of SpaceX in the private market and the space fund's focus, I wouldn't be surprised if Ark Space & Defense was one of the first ETFs to buy SpaceX shares. Ark Space & Defense has climbed 175% over the past three years, largely outperforming the S&P 500.
2. The Procure Space ETF
Procure runs the Procure Space ETF (NASDAQ: UFO), a fund highly focused on what it calls "the space economy." The fund launched in 2019 and lagged behind the S&P 500 when it came to performance in recent years -- but since the middle of last year, it's skyrocketed. This brings it to a gain of 250% over the past three years, compared to an 80% increase for the S&P 500.
Talk of a SpaceX IPO, which has been anticipated for a while, as well as interest in technology growth areas such as AI, may have boosted demand for this ETF as well as its underlying assets.
Like the Ark fund, Procure's biggest position is in Rocket Lab, which has a weight of more than 6%, but the other top holdings are more closely focused on space than Ark Space & Defense's leading positions. For example, the second-biggest holding in Procure is satellite imagery company Planet Labs and satellite broadband services company Viasat.
Considering this keen focus on space, Procure also might be one of the first ETFs to pick up shares of SpaceX.
ETFs and SpaceX
We don't know for sure whether these ETFs will purchase SpaceX shares, of course, but it's clear that the stock could be a good fit for them. So savvy investors may want to monitor these funds' moves following the IPO, particularly if SpaceX shares slip at any point, offering the funds an opportunity to buy on the dip.

Shares of Dell have outperformed the Zacks Computer - Micro Computers industry over the past year (+324.3% vs. +60.7%). The company is seeing demand for AI servers stay ahead of supply as customers accelerate deployments and lock in capacity. In first quarter fiscal 2027, the company booked $24.4 billion of AI orders, delivered $16.1 billion of AI server revenue, and ended with a $51.3 billion AI backlog.
Management raised fiscal 2027 revenue guidance to $165-$169 billion and lifted expected AI server revenue to about $60 billion. ISG profitability improved year over year, and traditional servers, storage and commercial PCs are expanding, supporting cash flow and continued buybacks and dividends. DELL’s core leverage ratio was 1.2x exiting the quarter, but the balance sheet remains geared.
However, unfavorable AI mix and memory constraints continues to keep gross margin under pressure. Competitive pricing, and unfavorable forex are other headwinds.

Thermo Fisher’s shares have outperformed the Zacks Medical - Instruments industry over the past year (+23.9% vs. -3.5%). The company is building out its capabilities through the ongoing execution of its proven growth strategy. Top Analyst Reports for Microsoft, Dell & Thermo Fisher

(RTTNews) - Defense contractor L3Harris Technologies (LHX) Monday said it has expanded its Advanced Manufacturing Facility-South (AMF-South) in Huntsville, Alabama with a $25 million investment that adds 130,000 square feet of manufacturing space.
The expansion increases the company's Huntsville footprint to about 670,000 square feet across three sites and is aimed at boosting production capacity for critical defense programs.
Ken Bedingfield, President of Missile Solutions at L3Harris, said the additional space will enable the company to rapidly increase production capacity in support of growing demand for munitions.
The company noted that the facility can scale operations quickly by utilizing existing infrastructure already in place at the site.
L3Harris is also hiring for multiple positions at the facility, including roles in mechanical and manufacturing engineering, project engineering, quality assurance, machining and composite technology.
