The Essential Health segment offers oral and baby, women's health, wound, and other care products under the Listerine, Johnson's, Band-Aid, and Stayfree, o.b., tampons, Carefree, and Desitin Diaper Rash brands. The company was incorporated in 2022 and is headquartered in Skillman, New Jersey.

Kimberly Clark (NASDAQ: KMB) has increased its dividend annually for over five decades, making it a Dividend King. That's a huge achievement. It also offers an attractive 5% dividend yield, with its stock price having fallen more than 20% from its 52-week high as of this writing. Should you jump on the opportunity to buy it, or are you better off staying on the sidelines? The answer may depend on your tolerance for risk.
What does Kimberly Clark do and what does it want to do?
Right now, Kimberly Clark is largely a paper products company, making things like toilet paper, diapers, and feminine hygiene products. These are necessities, so the business has a strong foundation. That said, it competes directly with Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG), one of the world's largest consumer staples companies. This comparison is important in two ways.

First, Procter & Gamble has notably higher gross profit margins and materially less leverage. You could easily argue that P&G is better run business, noting that it, too, is a Dividend King. But this comparison isn't completely fair because P&G makes paper products and a broad range of other consumer items, from soap to cough medicine. Which brings up point two: Kimberly Clark is in the middle of buying Kenvue (NYSE: KVUE), a move that will make it look more like P&G.
From a business perspective, this is likely a good move. However, from an investor's perspective, a highly leveraged consumer-staples company is looking to acquire another business. It will pay cash toward part of the purchase, adding additional debt to the balance sheet. And then there is the integration risk that comes along with any big acquisition. There is material risk involved here, even if the proposed deal makes business sense.
Neither Kimberly Clark nor Kenvue are doing great right now
The last piece of the puzzle is perhaps the most troubling. Kimberly Clark lowered its full-year guidance when it reported second-quarter 2026 earnings. Essentially, the business isn't doing as well as management had hoped.
Kenvue, meanwhile, proudly announced that the second quarter marked its third consecutive quarter of organic sales growth. That's great news, but it also highlights that the company was struggling with weak performance before that point. In other words, Kenvue is attempting to turn its business around just as it is about to be acquired by Kimberly Clark, a company that isn't performing at the top of its game right now. That's not a great setup.
It is highly unlikely that Kimberly Clark will go out of business. But there are better-run consumer staples businesses you can buy. And while Kimberly Clark's lofty yield is attractive, its 85% dividend payout ratio is rather high, as it pursues a transformative acquisition while dealing with elevated leverage ratios. Only the most aggressive dividend investors should probably consider it right now.

Kimberly Clark is Down 20% From Its 52-Week High. Is the Dip Worth Buying?

The Board of Directors at Verizon Communications declared a quarterly dividend of 70.75 cents per outstanding share, consistent with the prior quarter's dividend rate. The quarterly dividend is payable on November 2, 2026 to Verizon shareholders of record at the close of business on October 9, 2026. "Verizon's reliability and consistency in returning capital to shareholders is a result of our focused operational execution and our ability to drive sustainable cash flow," said Dan Schulman, CEO of Verizon.
Argan announces that its Board of Directors declared a 40% increase in the quarterly cash dividend, raising it from $0.50 to $0.70 per common share. The dividend will be payable on October 30, 2026, to stockholders of record at the close of business on October 22, 2026.
Graham Holdings today declared a regular quarterly dividend of $1.88 per share, payable on November 5, 2026, to shareholders of record on October 15, 2026.
InterDigital, a wireless, video and AI technology research and development company, today announced that its Board of Directors has approved an increase in the company's quarterly cash dividend from $0.70 to $0.75 per share. The increase in the regular quarterly dividend will take effect beginning with the dividend paid in fourth quarter 2026. The Board of Directors also declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.75 per share on its common stock, payable on October 28, 2026, to shareholders of record at the close of business on October 14, 2026.
Kenvue today announced that its Board of Directors declared a quarterly dividend of $0.21 per share on its common stock. The quarterly dividend is payable on October 2, 2026, to shareholders of record as of the close of business on September 21, 2026.
The board of directors of New Jersey Resources unanimously approved an increase in the quarterly dividend rate to $0.50 per share from $0.475 per share. The new quarterly rate will be effective with the dividend payable October 1, 2026, to shareowners of record on September 24, 2026. The new annual dividend rate will be $2.00 per share. NJR has paid quarterly dividends continuously since its inception in 1952, and has raised the dividend every year for the last 31 years.

Kenvue Inc. KVUE is moving closer to its planned combination with Kimberly-Clark Corporation KMB, with shareholder approvals secured and the U.S. antitrust waiting period expired. The cash-and-stock transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to remaining foreign regulatory approvals and customary conditions.
Kenvue shareholders are expected to receive 0.14625 Kimberly-Clark shares plus $3.50 in cash for each Kenvue share. They are expected to own about 46% of the combined company on a fully diluted basis after closing.
Kimberly-Clark has already announced a post-closing organizational structure that would become effective once the acquisition is completed. The buyer, which describes itself as a global personal care leader, is preparing for integration even as the transaction still depends on outstanding approvals.
Those remaining conditions matter because Kenvue is not providing forward-looking financial guidance while the deal is pending. Expected transaction benefits may not be realized or may take longer than expected, while the pending transaction could also disrupt the business.
Kenvue Inc. Price, Consensus and EPS Surprise
Recent results show why execution remains important. Second-quarter 2026 net sales rose 3% to $3,955 million and organic sales increased 1.6%, but adjusted earnings of 31 cents per share fell short of the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 32 cents. Adjusted gross margin fell 70 basis points to 60.2% as inflation, tariffs and unfavorable transactional foreign exchange outweighed pricing and supply-chain productivity benefits.
Self Care remains a pressure point. First-half organic sales in the segment declined 0.9% as volumes fell 2.3%, reflecting lower illness incidence in pediatric pain and cough-and-cold categories. Skin Health and Beauty provided a stronger offset, with first-half organic sales up 4.4% and segment adjusted operating income rising 46.9% to $354 million.
Competition across these categories remains broad. The Procter & Gamble Company PG operates Beauty, Health Care and Grooming businesses, including skin and personal care and oral care, which overlap with several Kenvue markets. PG's portfolio breadth makes it a relevant competitive reference point for Kenvue's brand-led categories.
The balance sheet adds another layer of risk. Kenvue had $8.5 billion of total debt and $1.1 billion of cash as of June 28, 2026. First-half operating cash flow improved 12.2% to $1.2 billion and free cash flow reached $1 billion, but the 2026 restructuring program is expected to carry approximately $250 million of pre-tax charges before delivering approximately $200 million of annualized pre-tax gross cost savings upon completion.
Legal and macro pressures have not disappeared. The Second Circuit vacated the prior acetaminophen judgment in July 2026 and remanded the litigation for further proceedings. Kenvue also remains responsible for certain talc-related liabilities outside the United States and Canada, while annualized gross tariff exposure was estimated at approximately $80 million.
Bottom line, major shareholder and U.S. antitrust milestones are complete, but the expected fourth-quarter closing still carries regulatory, operational and financial risk. Weak Self Care volumes, margin pressure, debt, restructuring execution and litigation keep the near-term picture balanced despite stronger cash generation and improving Skin Health and Beauty trends.
Kenvue currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold), a Value Score of C, a Growth Score of C, a Momentum Score of D and a VGM Score of D. Within the Style Score framework, A and B grades are more favorable than C and D grades, while the Zacks Rank remains the first screen for near-term earnings-estimate trends. Kenvue's C and D scores therefore do not add a strong style-based tailwind to its #3 Rank.

Kenvue's Kimberly-Clark Deal Nears Closing With Key Risks Still Ahead

Kenvue Inc. KVUE is showing better earnings leverage than its sales growth alone would suggest. In the first half of 2026, adjusted operating margin rose 180 basis points to 23.1% and adjusted earnings increased 18.9% to 63 cents per share.
The improvement is encouraging, but revenue momentum remains modest. First-half organic sales grew only 1.2%, with volume up 0.2%, while the company continues to manage tariff, inflation, debt and transaction-related risks.
Cost discipline is doing much of the work. Supply-chain optimization, restructuring benefits and lower administrative expenses supported first-half profitability. Kenvue expects its 2026 Restructuring Initiative to generate about $200 million of annualized pre-tax gross savings upon completion, although the program is also expected to require about $250 million of pre-tax charges in 2026.Kenvue Inc. The second quarter showed why investors should not assume margin expansion will be linear. Organic sales improved to 1.6%, but adjusted gross margin declined 70 basis points to 60.2% as inflation, tariffs and transactional foreign exchange outweighed pricing and productivity gains. Adjusted operating margin also narrowed 60 basis points to 22.1% as Kenvue increased brand investment.
The sales mix remains uneven. Skin Health and Beauty was the clearest growth engine in the first half, with organic sales up 4.4% and segment adjusted operating income rising 46.9% to $354 million. Self Care moved back to 0.6% organic growth in the second quarter, yet first-half organic sales still declined 0.9% and volumes fell 2.3%. That leaves Kenvue exposed to seasonal illness patterns and slower category demand.
Cash generation offers some support. Operating cash flow increased 12.2% to $1.2 billion in the first six months of 2026 and free cash flow rose to about $1 billion. Still, total debt remained $8.5 billion at the end of the second quarter. Kenvue is also withholding forward financial guidance while its pending combination with Kimberly-Clark moves toward an expected fourth-quarter 2026 closing, subject to remaining approvals and conditions.
Valuation is not demanding relative to several benchmarks. KVUE trades at 15.6X forward 12-month earnings, below the Zacks sub-industry's 18.7X multiple and its own five-year median of 16.8X. On fiscal-year-one earnings, KVUE's 16.4X multiple is also below Church & Dwight Co., Inc. CHD at 26.1X. Church & Dwight provides a useful consumer-staples benchmark for how investors are valuing a peer with a higher earnings multiple.
The Procter & Gamble Company PG offers another large-cap consumer-products comparison. PG trades at 21.0X fiscal-year-one earnings, again above KVUE. These peer gaps support the argument that Kenvue's slower growth and execution risks are already reflected to some degree in its valuation, but a discount alone does not establish a near-term buying signal.
The bottom line is that Kenvue's improving first-half profitability, stronger cash flow and healthier Skin Health and Beauty trends are offset by modest organic growth, weak Self Care volumes, quarterly margin pressure and $8.5 billion of debt. The risk-reward profile looks balanced rather than decisively favorable.

Should Investors Buy KVUE as Margin Gains Offset Slow Sales Growth?

Kimberly-Clark, the Kenvue deal, and the market's response
When Kimberly-Clark first announced the Kenvue deal last November, shares fell 15% immediately. By the spring, the stock had fallen more than 20% below pre-announcement levels. Yet while it's recovered since then, Kimberly-Clark remains down by around 8.1%.
The proposed merger is currently under regulatory review, but so far the deal appears set to close on schedule, sometime between now and the end of 2026. Mixed views notwithstanding, there are strong reasons for investors to be excited about this deal, rather than continuing to treat it as a great uncertainty.
Debunking the fear, uncertainty, and doubt
Deal skeptics have two key issues with the proposed merger. First, they believe that buying Kenvue, which was arguably spun off from Johnson & Johnson due to its sluggish growth, will result in an even larger slow-growing company. Second, there's the whole issue regarding allegations that Tylenol can cause autism and ADHD.
If lawsuits related to this prove successful, it could saddle Kimberly-Clark with significant liabilities. That said, consider these counterpoints. First, even partially hitting the $2.1 billion in projected annual cost and revenue synergies from the combination could significantly improve profitability.
Regarding litigation risks, consider that Kimberly-Clark was well aware of the legal risk related to Tylenol claims ahead of the deal. If profitability remains steady, or better yet, improves, Kimberly-Clark, which currently has a forward dividend yield of around 4.7%, will likely remain a Dividend King. Successful execution of the merger, coupled with better-than-feared litigation outcomes, could also bode well for the combined company's post-merger valuation.

A boring dividend stock
Kimberly Clark raised its dividend from $1.26 per share to $1.28 per share this past January, extending its dividend growth streak to 54 years in a row. The consumer staples company has now paid dividends for 92 straight years. PepsiCo, which extended its streak to 54 years in June with a 4% raise, has now paid a dividend each year since 1965.
PepsiCo has spent a fortune on marketing to build a global beverage brand around its iconic name. That brand image has made it easily recognizable in the investor community. Kimberly Clark also spends a lot of money on marketing. That's why its portfolio of household product brands holds No. 1 or No. 2 market share positions in about 70 countries and serves one in every four people globally each day. However, that hasn't translated into a well-known corporate brand.
As a result, many income investors are unfamiliar with the company. That's causing them to overlook a top dividend stock that offers an even more enticing yield than PepsiCo (4.7% vs. 4.1%).
The company's products benefit from durable, growing demand, with demand for its basic household products even more resilient than that for PepsiCo's beverage and snacking products. Meanwhile, it's taking a major step to enhance its global portfolio by acquiring consumer health products brand Kenvue, which could help drive growth (including the dividend) for years to come.

This Consumer Staples Giant's Dividend Streak Rivals PepsiCo. Nobody Talks About It.

(RTTNews) - Essity AB (ESSITY-B.ST, ETTYF, ESSITY_A.ST, ESSITY_B.ST), a Swedish hygiene and health products company, said that it has inked a deal to acquire feminine care business of Kenvue Inc. (KVUE) in Brazil for $284 million on a cash and debt-free basis. The acquisition will boost Essity's position in feminine care market in Latin America.
Ulrika Kolsrud, CEO of Essity, said: "With this acquisition we establish a strong position in feminine care in Brazil and it marks another step in our strategy to grow in our most value-creating categories. Brazil represents a significant growth opportunity in hygiene and health, where we already hold a leading position in incontinence products."
The transaction is expected to close during the second quarter of 2027. The acquisition is structured as an asset purchase from certain Kenvue subsidiaries and includes ownership of the Carefree, Sempre Livre and o.b. brands, and others.

Essity To Buy Kenvue's Feminine Care Business In Brazil For $284 Mln

The iShares Global Consumer Staples ETF is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Tuesday, with over 305,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 77,000. Shares of KXI were off about 0.5% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Tuesday were Ambev, trading down about 2.2% with over 7.9 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Kenvue, down about 0.3% on volume of over 7.3 million shares. General Mills is the component faring the best Tuesday, up by about 0.9% on the day.
