Noteworthy ETF Outflows: SPY, XOM, JNJ, MU

Johnson & Johnson JNJ is one of the key pharmaceutical players in the oncology segment with significant expertise in blood cancers and solid tumors. It is the #1 company in multiple myeloma, with key drug Darzalex being considered the foundational gold standard treatment. Darzalex generated more than $14 billion in sales in 2025, rising 22% year over year and still going strong.
Its Oncology segment comprises around 27% of total revenues and 42% of its Innovative Medicine segment sales. Its oncology sales rose 20.9% on an operational basis in 2025, driven by strong market growth and share gains of key products such as Darzalex and prostate cancer drug, Erleada. The sales growth was partially dampened by lower sales of Imbruvica.
Three of J&J’s new cancer drugs are Carvykti, a BCMA CAR-T therapy for relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma, Tecvayli for relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma and Talvey, a novel bispecific therapy for heavily pretreated multiple myeloma. These drugs also contributed to top-line growth in 2026. Combined, they generated $3.0 billion in sales in 2025.
J&J expects the momentum to continue and targets its oncology sales to reach $50 billion by 2030. Though quite bullish, J&J seems quite confident that it can meet the target, citing strong growth in its marketed cancer drugs and new launches like Inlexzoh/TAR-200 in high-risk non-muscle invasive bladder cancer and the subcutaneous formulation of Rybrevant plus Lazcluze for advanced EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer.
Inlexzoh, which was initially approved in the United States in September last year, is the first-of-its-kind drug-releasing system to provide sustained local delivery of a cancer treatment directly into the bladder. The subcutaneous formulation of Rybrevant plus Lazcluze was approved in the EU in April 2025 and in the United States in December 2025.
J&J believes its new cancer drugs, Talvey, Tecvayli and Rybrevant plus Lazcluze, have the potential to deliver peak sales of $5 billion.
Meanwhile, J&J’s oncology pipeline has gained strong momentum in the last couple of years with promising developments in colorectal and head and neck cancers. J&J is also building its oncology pipeline through M&A deals. Last year, it acquired Halda Therapeutics, which added a promising clinical-stage treatment for prostate cancer with potential across multiple tumor types.
Competition in the Oncology Space
Other large players in the oncology space are Pfizer PFE, AstraZeneca AZN, Merck MRK and Bristol-Myers.
Oncology sales comprise around 27% of Pfizer’s total revenues. Its oncology revenues grew 8% in 2025, driven by drugs like Xtandi, Lorbrena, the Braftovi-Mektovi combination and Padcev, which made up for declining sales of drugs like Ibrance. Pfizer also has a robust pipeline of cancer candidates with a focus on multiple modalities, including small molecules, ADCs and immuno-oncology biologics.
For AstraZeneca, oncology sales now comprise around 44% of total revenues. Sales in its oncology segment rose 14% at constant exchange rate (CER) in 2025. AstraZeneca’s strong oncology performance was driven by medicines such as Tagrisso, Lynparza, Imfinzi, Calquence and Enhertu (in partnership with Daiichi Sankyo).
Merck’s key oncology medicines are PD-L1 inhibitor, Keytruda and PARP inhibitor, Lynparza, which it markets in partnership with AstraZeneca. Keytruda, approved for several types of cancer, alone accounts for more than 50% of Merck’s pharmaceutical sales. Keytruda recorded sales of $31.7 billion in 2025, up 7% year over year.
Bristol-Myers’ key cancer drug is PD-L1 inhibitor, Opdivo, which accounts for around 21% of its total revenues. Opdivo’s sales rose 8% to $10 billion in 2025.

J&J’s shares have outperformed the industry in the past year. The stock has risen 51% in the past year compared with a 12.7% appreciation of the industry.

ACR Alpine Capital Research Buys 1 Million Shares of Arrow Electronics Stock

(RTTNews) - German pharmaceutical and life sciences major Bayer AG (BAYRY.PK, BAYZF.PK) announced that it has filed false advertising suit against Johnson & Johnson or J&J (JNJ) and Janssen Biotech, Inc. over the U.S. drug major's claims regarding NUBEQA for prostate cancer treatment.
Bayer alleges that J&J's claims regarding NUBEQA are deeply flawed and intentionally aimed at boosting sales of J&J's ERLEADA.
With the lawsuit filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, Bayer seeks preliminary and permanent injunctions in addition to damages.
The suit follows J&J's refusal to cease and desist its promotion of a scientifically flawed real-world evidence analysis, which conveys false information to patients and healthcare providers regarding the efficacy of NUBEQA.
The German firm noted that J&J's promotional efforts, which include a press release issued to media and two presentations made available on its Medical Connect website, are commercial speech aimed at promoting its branded product that violate the Lanham Act, a federal law.
The law prohibits a company from making false or misleading commercial representations about a product's safety, efficacy, or characteristics.
According to Bayer, superiority claims of ERLEADA are false and derived from an analysis with numerous and fatal methodological flaws. They are based on scientifically flawed data and are not supported by a true head-to-head clinical trial. With the flawed analysis, J&J aims to increase its market share in a concentrated and increasingly competitive prostate cancer treatment market, the company noted.
Bayer added that J&J's real-world data analysis has other issues, such as almost exclusively unapproved use of NUBEQA; short follow-up time of less than 24 months for the majority of patients; treatment arms varied greatly in size; inferior data sources as the basis for its review; and improper control for comorbidities.
In the overnight trading, J&J shares were losing around 0.74 percent, after closing Monday's regular trading 1.4 percent higher at $245.84.

Bayer Sues J&J Over Prostate Cancer Treatment Promotion Dispute

Johnson & Johnson JNJ and AbbVie ABBV are leading drugmakers with strong franchises in immunology, oncology and neuroscience. Beyond these areas, J&J also markets therapies for cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, pulmonary hypertension and infectious diseases, and maintains a sizable medical devices business. AbbVie, meanwhile, expanded into the aesthetics business through its 2020 acquisition of Allergan, the maker of Botox.
J&J’s key growth drivers include blockbuster drugs like Stelara and Darzalex, while AbbVie relies on Humira and newer immunology assets Skyrizi and Rinvoq. However, both face patent headwinds — AbbVie from Humira biosimilars and J&J from Stelara’s loss of exclusivity (LOE) — making pipeline execution and business development critical for sustained growth.
The stock that looks more attractive now can be determined based on balance sheet strength, pipeline depth and the pace of post-patent recovery. Let’s break down.
The Case for J&J
J&J’s biggest strength is its diversified business model, as it operates through pharmaceuticals and medical devices divisions. It has more than 275 subsidiaries and boasts 28 platforms or products with more than $1 billion in annual sales. Its diversification helps it to withstand economic cycles more effectively. It also boasts strong cash flows and has consistently increased its dividends for 63 consecutive years.
J&J’s Innovative Medicine unit is showing a growth trend. The segment’s sales rose 4.1% on an organic basis in 2025 despite Stelara LOE and the negative impact of the Part D redesign. Growth was driven by J&J’s key drugs like Darzalex, Erleada and Tremfya. New drugs like Carvykti, Tecvayli, Talvey, Rybrevant and Spravato also contributed significantly to growth.
J&J’s MedTech business has improved in the past three quarters, driven by the acquired cardiovascular businesses, Abiomed and Shockwave, as well as Surgical Vision and wound closure in Surgery. Improvements in J&J’s electrophysiology business also drove growth. MedTech sales rose 4.3% on an organic basis in 2025.
J&J also rapidly advanced its pipeline in 2025, attaining significant clinical and regulatory milestones that will help drive growth through the back half of the decade. In 2025, it gained approval for new products like Inlexzoh/TAR-200, a first-of-its-kind drug-releasing system, for treating high-risk non-muscle invasive bladder cancer and Imaavy (nipocalimab) for treating generalized myasthenia gravis. In 2025, J&J invested more than $32 billion in R&D and M&A, including the acquisitions of Intra-Cellular Therapies and Halda Therapeutics.
J&J believes 10 of its new products/pipeline candidates in the Innovative Medicine segment have the potential to deliver peak sales of $5 billion, including Talvey, Tecvayli, Imaavy, Caplyta, Inlexzo, Rybrevant, plus Lazcluze and Icotyde.
However, J&J faces its share of headwinds like the legal battle surrounding its talc lawsuits, the Stelara patent cliff, the upcoming LOE of key drugs Opsumit and Simponi and softness in MedTech China.
The Case for AbbVie
AbbVie has successfully navigated the LOE of its blockbuster drug, Humira, which once generated more than 50% of its total revenues. It has accomplished this by launching two other successful new immunology medicines, Skyrizi and Rinvoq, which are performing extremely well, bolstered by approvals in new indications, and should support top-line growth in the next few years.
Skyrizi and Rinvoq generated combined sales of $26.0 billion in 2025, exceeding expectations and representing year-over-year growth of more than 40%. In 2026, AbbVie expects combined Skyrizi and Rinvoq sales of more than $31 billion, which is $0.5 billion more than its 2027 long-term guidance of $31 billion.
AbbVie’s neuroscience portfolio is also contributing to top-line growth. Sales of its neuroscience drugs increased almost 20% to $10.8 billion in 2025, driven by higher sales of Botox Therapeutic, depression drug Vraylar and newer migraine drugs Ubrelvy and Qulipta.
Its oncology segment generated combined revenues of $6.6 billion in 2025, up 1.5% year over year as higher sales of Venclexta and contributions from new drugs, Elahere and Epkinly, partially offset the decline in Imbruvica sales.
AbbVie has been on an acquisition spree in the past couple of years to bolster the early-stage pipeline that should drive long-term growth. Particularly, it is signing several M&A deals in the immunology space, its core area, and also inking some early-stage deals in oncology and neuroscience areas. In 2025, AbbVie invested more than $5 billion to acquire innovative pipeline candidates.
However, the company faces some near-term headwinds like Humira’s biosimilar erosion, increasing competitive pressure on cancer drug Imbruvica and declining sales of its Aesthetics unit due to continued macro challenges and weakened consumer sentiment. Global sales of the aesthetics portfolio declined 0.6% in 2024 and 5.9% in 2025.
How Do Estimates Compare for JNJ & ABBV?
The Zacks Consensus Estimate for J&J’s 2026 sales and EPS imply a year-over-year increase of 6.5% and 7.0%, respectively. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for 2026 earnings has risen from $11.51 to $11.54 over the past 30 days, while that for 2027 has gone up from $12.25 per share to $12.40 per share over the same timeframe.

J&J’s shares currently trade at 20.79 forward earnings, which is higher than the industry as well as the stock’s 5-year mean of 15.65.

Sales of AbbVie’s ex-Humira drugs rose more than 14% (on a reported basis) in the fourth quarter, which was above its expectations, driven by Skyrizi, Rinvoq and neuroscience.
It expects a high single-digit revenue growth through 2029, as the company has no significant LOE events for the rest of this decade. A substantial portion of this growth is expected to be driven by the robust performance of Skyrizi and Rinvoq. With no significant LOEs in this decade, AbbVie enjoys the flexibility to invest more in R&D to continue to acquire external innovation.
Similarly, J&J’s stock has shown steady revenue and EPS growth for years. J&J outperformed financial expectations in 2025 and looks optimistic for continued strong momentum in 2026 with a target to generate around $100 billion in revenues in the year. J&J expects sales growth in both segments to be higher in 2026.

J&J has a slight edge over AbbVie simply on the basis of a better stock performance and stronger estimate revisions, which reflect analysts’ optimistic outlook for future growth. AbbVie’s stock has been suppressed post fourth-quarter results despite beating estimates. This has been due to a decline in sales of its oncology drugs in the fourth quarter, weakness in the aesthetics segment and overall market caution about growth sustainability.

Johnson & Johnson vs. AbbVie: A Growth Showdown Amid Patent Cliffs

(RTTNews) - Blackstone Life Sciences, a division of Blackstone Inc. (BX), Monday announced a research and development funding agreement with Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) to advance the clinical development of bleximenib for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia.
Under this agreement, bleximenib's promising clinical data along with Johnson & Johnson's deep expertise in hematologic malignancies is expected to create a strong foundation to address critical gaps in patient care.
Meanwhile, Johnson & Johnson and funds managed by the company will jointly finance a portion of the ongoing and future clinical trials of bleximenib.
In the pre-market hours, BX is trading at $120.25, down 0.85 percent, and JNJ is trading at $242.52 on the New York Stock Exchange.

Why do I love Johnson & Johnson's stock? Let me count the ways.
Reason No. 1: It has raised its dividend for 63 consecutive years
Let that sink in for a moment. The company is a Dividend King, one of a small group of companies that have raised their payouts for 50 or more consecutive years. It began raising its dividend in 1963, when John F. Kennedy was president. And amid all the upheaval since -- wars, economic downturns, and major changes in healthcare -- it has steadily kept boosting it.
Over the past decade, it has consistently provided single-digit percentage dividend increases, but those added up to a 73% total increase over that period. Last year, it raised its quarterly payout by 4.8% to $1.30 per share. At the stock's current price, that gives it a yield of 2.1%, almost double the S&P 500's average yield in December of 1.15%.
Moreover, the company's payout ratio of 46.3% shows it has plenty of room to continue those increases. While it paid out $12.4 billion in dividends in 2025, it produced about $20 billion in free cash flow.
Reason No. 2: Its total return outpaced the S&P 500 over the past year
Johnson & Johnson shares delivered a total return of more than 60% over the past year, about five times the return of the S&P 500. That's pretty good for a "boring" stock, though in most years, its total returns have been far more pedestrian.
The company did a lot right this year. Revenue rose 6% to $94.2 billion, while earnings per share (EPS) grew by 90.5% to $11.03. Adjusted EPS was $10.79, up 8.1%. In 2026, management is guiding for revenue in the $100 billion to $101 billion range, which would be a rise of 6.7% at the midpoint. It projects operational EPS to be between $11.43 and $11.63, an increase of 6.9% at the midpoint.
Reason No. 3: It isn't stuck in the past
Yes, the company has a 140-year history, but it also has its eyes firmly fixed on the future. It just announced plans to spend $1 billion on a next-generation cell manufacturing facility outside Philadelphia.
The new plant will support Johnson & Johnson's objective of making the majority of its advanced medicines within the U.S., which will allow it to meet domestic demand while reducing its tariff costs. The company said it plans an overall outlay of $55 billion in U.S. manufacturing, research and development (R&D), and technology through early 2029.
J&J consistently spends big on R&D -- $14.6 billion in 2025 alone -- and that pays off. Last year, it had 28 programs with $1 billion or more in sales. It also had 51 therapies approved in its innovative medicine division, and 15 new product launches in its medtech division.
Attributes like those may not be exciting, but they're why Johnson & Johnson is a stock I'll happily stick with for the long haul.

The Only Healthcare Stock I'd Buy and Never Sell Might Be Johnson & Johnson

(RTTNews) - Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) announced new long-term results from the QUASAR long-term extension (LTE) study, showing that TREMFYA (guselkumab) sustained clinical, endoscopic, and histologic outcomes through Week 140 in adults with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis (UC).
At Week 140, 80.8% of patients receiving TREMFYA were in clinical remission. Additionally, 78.6% achieved histo-endoscopic mucosal improvement (HEMI), while 53.6% reached endoscopic remission. Approximately 89% of eligible participants completed treatment through Week 140, and nearly all patients in clinical remission at this timepoint were corticosteroid-free for at least eight weeks.
Durability of response was also demonstrated. Among those in clinical remission at Week 44, 87.5% maintained remission through Week 140. Importantly, efficacy was consistent regardless of prior biologic or JAK inhibitor treatment history, and no new safety concerns were identified during the study period.
TREMFYA received U.S. Food and Drug Administration and European Commission approval for both SC and IV induction options for the treatment of adults with moderately to severely active Crohn's disease and U.S. FDA approval for both SC and IV induction options for the treatment of adults with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis. TREMFYA® is approved by the EC for the treatment of adult patients with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis and is currently administered via an IV induction regimen, followed by a SC maintenance regimen.
Johnson & Johnson closed on February 20 at $242.49, reflecting a decline of $4.42 or 1.79%. In after-hours trading, the stock inched up slightly to $242.51, a modest increase of $0.02 or 0.01%.
