Deere & Company engages in the manufacture and distribution of various equipment worldwide. The company operates through four segments: Production and Precision Agriculture, Small Agriculture and Turf, Construction and Forestry, and Financial Services. The Production and Precision Agriculture segment provides large and medium tractors, combines, cotton pickers and strippers, sugarcane harvesters and loaders, harvesting front-end equipment, pull-behind scrapers, and tillage and seeding equipment, as well as application equipment, including sprayers and nutrient management, and soil preparation machinery for grain growers. The Small Agriculture and Turf segment offers utility tractors, and related loaders and attachments; turf and utility equipment, including riding lawn equipment, commercial mowing equipment, golf course equipment, and utility vehicles, as well as implements for mowing, tilling, snow and debris handling, aerating, residential, commercial, golf, and sports turf care applications; other outdoor power products; and hay and forage equipment. This segment also resells products from other manufacturers. It serves dairy and livestock producers, crop producers, and turf and utility customers. The Construction and Forestry segment provides a range of backhoe loaders, crawler dozers and loaders, four-wheel-drive loaders, excavators, motor graders, articulated dump trucks, landscape and skid-steer loaders, milling machines, pavers, compactors, rollers, crushers, screens, asphalt plants, log skidders, log feller bunchers, log loaders and forwarders, log harvesters, and attachments; and roadbuilding equipment. The Financial Services segment finances sales and leases agriculture and turf, and construction and forestry equipment. It also offers wholesale financing to dealers of the foregoing equipment; and extended equipment warranties, as well as finances retail revolving charge accounts. The company was founded in 1837 and is headquartered in Moline, Illinois.

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) on Wednesday closed up by +0.69%, the Dow Jones Industrials Index ($DOWI) (DIA) closed up by +0.67%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) closed up by +0.87%. December E-mini S&P futures (ESZ25) rose +0.70%, and December E-mini Nasdaq futures (NQZ25) rose +0.89%.
Stock indexes rallied on Wednesday, with the S&P 500 posting a 2-week high and the Dow Jones Industrials and Nasdaq 100 posting 1.5-week highs. Strength in semiconductor stocks on Wednesday led the technology sector higher and lifted the overall market.

Optimism about a Fed rate cut also boosted stocks heading into Thursday’s Thanksgiving Day holiday. Market sentiment has improved this week, as bond yields have fallen amid weak US economic news and dovish Fed comments, strengthening the case for a rate cut at next month’s FOMC meeting. The chance of a Fed rate cut at the December 9-10 FOMC meeting has risen to 80% from 30% last week.
Stocks also received support from today’s US economic news, which bolstered optimism about the economic outlook after weekly jobless claims unexpectedly fell to a 7-month low and Sep capital goods new orders, a proxy for capital spending, rose more than expected.
US MBA mortgage applications rose +0.2% in the week ended November 21, with the purchase mortgage sub-index up +7.6% and the refinancing mortgage sub-index down -5.7%. The average 30-year fixed rate mortgage rose +3 bp to 6.40% from 6.37% in the prior week.
US weekly initial unemployment claims unexpectedly fell -6,000 to a 7-month low of 216,000, showing a stronger labor market than expectations of an increase to 225,000.
US Sep capital goods new orders nondefense ex-aircraft and parts, a proxy for capital spending, rose +0.9% m/m, stronger than expectations of +0.3% m/m.
The US Nov MNI Chicago PMI fell -7.5 to 36.3, weaker than expectations of 43.6 and the steepest pace of contraction in 17 months.
The Fed Beige Book was mixed as it stated, "Outlooks were largely unchanged overall, with some contacts noting an increased risk of slower activity in coming months, while some optimism was noted among manufacturers."
The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) canceled its October consumer price report last Friday and said the November report will be released on December 18. Last Wednesday, the BLS said it would not publish an October employment report and noted that it would incorporate those payroll figures into the November report, scheduled for publication on December 16.
The markets are discounting an 80% chance of another -25 bp rate cut at the next FOMC meeting on December 9-10.
Q3 corporate earnings season is drawing to a close as 475 of the 500 S&P companies have released results. According to Bloomberg Intelligence, 83% of reporting S&P 500 companies exceeded forecasts, on course for the best quarter since 2021. Q3 earnings rose +14.6%, more than doubling expectations of +7.2% y/y.
Overseas stock markets settled mixed on Wednesday. The Euro Stoxx 50 rallied to a 1-week high and closed up +1.47%. China’s Shanghai Composite closed down -0.15%. Japan’s Nikkei Stock 225 closed up +1.85%.
Interest Rates
December 10-year T-notes (ZNZ5) on Wednesday closed down by -0.5 of a tick. The 10-year T-note yield fell -0.2 bp to 3.994%. T-notes were little changed on Wednesday as strength in stocks weighed on prices. T-notes also came under pressure after US weekly initial unemployment claims unexpectedly fell to a 7-month low, a sign of labor market strength that is hawkish for Fed policy. In addition, weak demand for the Treasury’s $44 billion auction of 7-year T-notes weighed on prices, as the auction had a bid-to-cover ratio of 2.46, below the 10-auction average of 2.57. However, losses in T-notes were limited after the Nov MNI Chicago PMI fell to a 17-month low, a dovish factor for Fed policy.
European government bond yields moved lower on Wednesday. The 10-year German bund yield fell to a 1.5-week low of 2.660% and finished down -0.1 bp to 2.671%. The 10-year UK gilt yield fell to a 1.5-week low of 4.413% and finished down -7.1 bp to 4.423%.
ECB Governing Council member Boris Vujcic said risks to economic growth and inflation in the Eurozone are balanced, and "for the time being," interest rates are in a good place.
Swaps are discounting a 1% chance for a -25 bp rate cut by the ECB at its next policy meeting on December 18.
US Stock Movers
Strength in chip makers on Wednesday was a supportive factor for the overall market. Marvell Technology (MRVL) closed up more than +5% and ASML Holding NV (ASML) closed up more than +4%. Also, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Applied Materials (AMAT), Broadcom (AVGO), and ON Semiconductor (ON) closed up more than +3%. In addition, Micron Technology (MU), Analog Devices (ADI), Intel (INTC), Microchip Technology (MCHP), Lam Research (LRCX), and Texas Instruments (TXN) closed up more than +2%.
Urban Outfitters (URBN) closed up more than +12% after reporting Q3 net sales of $1.53 billion, better than the consensus of $1.49 billion.
Robinhood Markets (HOOD) closed up more than +10% to lead gainers in the S&P 500 after announcing it has bought a majority stake in LedgerX, a US-based derivatives exchange, giving Robinhood access to the prediction markets.
Oscar Health (OSCR) closed up more than +8% after Piper Sandler upgraded the stock to overweight from neutral with a price target of $25.
Dell Technologies (DELL) closed up more than +5% after raising its 2026 revenue forecast to $112.2 billion-$112.2 billion from a previous forecast of $105 billion-$109 billion, stronger than the consensus of $107.94 billion.
Oracle (ORCL) closed up more than +4% after Deutsche Bank said the benefits of OpenAI are not yet priced into the stock.
Boeing (BA) closed up more than +2% to lead gainers in the Dow Jones Industrials after being awarded a $2.47 billion contract from the US Air Force for 15 additional KC-46A Pegasus tankers, and after Taiwan’s China Airlines approved buying $7.852 billion of aircraft from Boeing.
Autodesk (ADSK) closed up more than +2% after reporting Q3 billings of $1.86 billion, above the consensus of $1.84 billion, and raising its 2025 billings estimate to $7.47 billion-$7.53 billion from a previous estimate of $7.36 billion-$7.45 billion, stronger than the consensus of $7.41 billion.
Ambarella (AMBA) closed down more than -19% after forecasting Q4 adjusted gross margin of 59% to 60.5%, below the consensus of 60.6%.
Nutanix (NTNX) closed down more than -17% after reporting Q1 revenue of $670.6 million, weaker than the consensus of $676.6 million, and cutting its 2026 revenue forecast to $2.82 billion-$2.86 billion from a previous forecast of $2.90 billion-$2.94 billion, well below the consensus of $2.92 billion.

Tech Stocks Lead the Overall Market Higher

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) today is up by +0.49%, the Dow Jones Industrials Index ($DOWI) (DIA) is up by +0.51%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) is up by +0.54%. December E-mini S&P futures (ESZ25) are up +0.52%, and December E-mini Nasdaq futures (NQZ25) are up +0.59%.
Stock indexes are moving higher today, with the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrials posting 1.5-week highs. Strength in semiconductor stocks today is lifting the overall market. Stocks fell back from their best levels today after the Nov MNI Chicago PMI fell more than expected to a 17-month low.

Optimism about a Fed rate cut is also boosting stocks heading into Thursday’s Thanksgiving Day holiday. Market sentiment has improved this week, as bond yields have fallen amid weak US economic news and dovish Fed comments, strengthening the case for a rate cut at next month’s FOMC meeting. The chance of a Fed rate cut at the December 9-10 FOMC meeting has risen to 81% from 30% last week.
Stocks also received support from today’s US economic news, which bolstered optimism about the economic outlook after weekly jobless claims unexpectedly fell to a 7-month low and Sep capital goods new orders, a proxy for capital spending, rose more than expected.
US MBA mortgage applications rose +0.2% in the week ended November 21, with the purchase mortgage sub-index up +7.6% and the refinancing mortgage sub-index down -5.7%. The average 30-year fixed rate mortgage rose +3 bp to 6.40% from 6.37% in the prior week.
US weekly initial unemployment claims unexpectedly fell -6,000 to a 7-month low of 216,000, showing a stronger labor market than expectations of an increase to 225,000.
US Sep capital goods new orders nondefense ex-aircraft and parts, a proxy for capital spending, rose +0.9% m/m, stronger than expectations of +0.3% m/m.
The US Nov MNI Chicago PMI fell -7.5 to 36.3, weaker than expectations of 43.6 and the steepest pace of contraction in 17 months.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) canceled its October consumer price report last Friday and said the November report will be released on December 18. Last Wednesday, the BLS said it would not publish an October employment report and noted that it would incorporate those payroll figures into the November report, scheduled for publication on December 16.
The markets are discounting an 80% chance of another -25 bp rate cut at the next FOMC meeting on December 9-10.
Q3 corporate earnings season is drawing to a close as 475 of the 500 S&P companies have released results. According to Bloomberg Intelligence, 83% of reporting S&P 500 companies exceeded forecasts, on course for the best quarter since 2021. Q3 earnings rose +14.6%, more than doubling expectations of +7.2% y/y.
Overseas stock markets are mixed today. The Euro Stoxx 50 is up +1.03%. China’s Shanghai Composite closed down -0.15%. Japan’s Nikkei Stock 225 closed up +1.85%.
Interest Rates
December 10-year T-notes (ZNZ5) today are down by -5 ticks. The 10-year T-note yield is up +1.9 bp to 4.015%. Today’s strength in stocks is weighing on T-note prices. Also, supply pressures are negative for T-notes, as the Treasury will auction $44 billion of 7-year T-notes to conclude this week’s $211 billion in T-notes and floating-rate note auctions. T-notes also came under pressure after US weekly initial unemployment claims unexpectedly fell to a 7-month low, a sign of labor market strength that is hawkish for Fed policy. However, T-notes recovered from their worst level after the Nov MNI Chicago PMI fell to a 17-month low, a dovish factor for Fed policy.
European government bond yields are mixed. The 10-year German bund yield rebounded from a 1.5-week low of 2.660% and is up +0.6 bp to 2.678%. The 10-year UK gilt yield fell to a 1.5-week low of 4.419% and is down -6.1 bp to 4.433%.
ECB Governing Council member Boris Vujcic said risks to economic growth and inflation in the Eurozone are balanced, and "for the time being," interest rates are in a good place.
Swaps are discounting a 2% chance for a -25 bp rate cut by the ECB at its next policy meeting on December 18.
US Stock Movers
Strength in chip makers is a supportive factor for the overall market. ASML Holding NV (ASML) is up more than +4% and Marvell Technology (MRVL) is up more than +3%. Also, Micron Technology (MU), Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Analog Devices (ADI), and Intel (INTC) are up more than +2%. In addition, Nvidia (NVDA), ARM Holdings Plc (ARM), Applied Materials (AMAT), Microchip Technology (MCHP), Lam Research (LRCX), ON Semiconductor (ON), and Texas Instruments (TXN) are up more than +1%.
Urban Outfitters (URBN) is up more than +12% after reporting Q3 net sales of $1.53 billion, better than the consensus of $1.49 billion.
Oscar Health (OSCR) is up more than +8% after Piper Sandler upgraded the stock to overweight from neutral with a price target of $25.
Robinhood Markets (HOOD) is up more than +7% to lead gainers in the S&P 500 after announcing it has bought a majority stake in LedgerX, a US-based derivatives exchange, giving Robinhood access to the prediction markets.
Oracle (ORCL) is up more than +4% after Deutsche Bank said the benefits of OpenAI are not yet priced into the stock.
Dell Technologies (DELL) is up more than +3% after raising its 2026 revenue forecast to $112.2 billion-$112.2 billion from a previous forecast of $105 billion-$109 billion, stronger than the consensus of $107.94 billion.
Boeing (BA) is up more than +2% to lead gainers in the Dow Jones Industrials after being awarded a $2.47 billion contract from the US Air Force for 15 additional KC-46A Pegasus tankers, and after Taiwan’s China Airlines approved buying $7.852 billion of aircraft from Boeing.
Autodesk (ADSK) is up more than +2% after reporting Q3 billings of $1.86 billion, above the consensus of $1.84 billion, and raising its 2025 billings estimate to $7.47 billion-$7.53 billion from a previous estimate of $7.36 billion-$7.45 billion, stronger than the consensus of $7.41 billion.
Nutanix (NTNX) is down more than -17% after reporting Q1 revenue of $670.6 million, weaker than the consensus of $676.6 million, and cutting its 2026 revenue forecast to $2.82 billion-$2.86 billion from a previous forecast of $2.90 billion-$2.94 billion, well below the consensus of $2.92 billion.
Ambarella (AMBA) is down more than -14% after forecasting Q4 adjusted gross margin of 59% to 60.5%, below the consensus of 60.6%.

2 Farm Equipment Stocks Worth Watching Amid Industry Challenges

Deere & Company DE has reported fourth-quarter fiscal 2025 (ended Nov. 2, 2025) earnings of $3.93 per share, which missed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $3.96. The bottom line decreased 14% from the prior-year quarter as gains from higher volumes were offset by higher production costs and tariff impacts.
Net sales of equipment operations (comprising Agriculture, and Turf, Construction and Forestry) were $10.6 billion, up 14% year over year, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $9.99 billion. Total net sales (including financial services and others) were $12.4 billion, up 11% year over year.
The cost of sales in the reported quarter was up 21% year over year to $7.94 billion. Total gross profit decreased 2.7% year over year to $4.45 billion. Selling, administrative and general expenses rose 3.6% to $1.28 billion from the prior-year period.
Total operating profit (including financial services) dipped 7% year over year to $1.35 billion in the fiscal fourth quarter.

DE’s Segmental Performances in Q4
The Production & Precision Agriculture segment’s sales rose 10% year over year to $4.74 billion on higher shipment volumes and favorable price realization. The figure beat our model’s estimated revenues of $4.27 billion for the quarter. Operating profit decreased 8% year over year to $604 million, on higher production costs and tariff impact, offset by higher shipment volumes/sales mix. Our estimate for the segment’s operating profit was $714 million.
Small Agriculture & Turf sales increased 7% to $2.46 billion from the year-earlier quarter, which came in higher than our projected sales of $2.11 billion on increased volumes. Operating profit slumped 89% year over year to $25 million on higher warranty expenses, tariffs and production costs. The figure beat our estimate of operating profit of $124 million for the segment.
Construction & Forestry sales were $3.38 million, up 27% year over year, on higher volumes. Our estimate for the segment’s revenues was $3.3 billion. Operating profit increased 6% year over year to $237 million as higher shipment volumes or sales mix were partially offset by increased production costs due to higher tariffs. Our estimate for the segment’s operating profit was $319 million.
Revenues in Deere’s Financial Services division were $1.55 billion in the reported quarter, up 2% year over year. Our estimate for the segment’s revenues was $1.56 billion. Net income of Deere’s Financial Services division was $293 million in the reported quarter compared with $173 million in the prior-year quarter. The upside was due to favorable financing spreads and a lower provision for credit losses.
Deere’s Cash & Debt Position
DE reported cash and cash equivalents of $8.28 billion at the end of fiscal 2025 compared with $7.32 billion at the end of fiscal 2024. The cash flow from operating activities was $7.5 billion in fiscal 2025 compared with $9.23 billion in the prior fiscal.
At the end of the quarter, the long-term borrowing was $43.5 billion compared with $43.23 billion at the end of fiscal 2025.
DE’s Fiscal 2025 Guidance
Deere reported fiscal 2025 earnings of $18.50 per share, which missed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $18.53. The bottom line decreased 28% from the prior fiscal.
Net sales of equipment operations came in at $38.9 billion, down 13% year over year, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $38.3 billion. Total net sales were $46 billion, down 11.7% year over year.
DE’s Fiscal 2026 Guidance
Deere expects net income for fiscal 2026 between $4.00 billion and $4.75 billion.
Net sales for Production & Precision Agriculture are expected to decrease 5-10% year over year. Sales of Small Agriculture & Turf are expected to rise 10%. Sales of Construction & Forestry are projected to increase 10%. The Financial Services segment’s net income is expected to be $830 million.

Q3 corporate earnings season is drawing to a close as 475 of the 500 S&P companies have released results. According to Bloomberg Intelligence, 83% of reporting S&P 500 companies exceeded forecasts, on course for the best quarter since 2021. Q3 earnings rose +14.6%, more than doubling expectations of +7.2% y/y.
Overseas stock markets are mixed today. The Euro Stoxx 50 is up +1.06%. China’s Shanghai Composite closed down -0.15%. Japan’s Nikkei Stock 225 closed up +1.85%.
Interest Rates
December 10-year T-notes (ZNZ5) today are down by -5 ticks. The 10-year T-note yield is up +2.9 bp to 4.025%. Today’s strength in stocks is weighing on T-note prices. Also, supply pressures are negative for T-notes, as the Treasury will auction $44 billion of 7-year T-notes to conclude this week’s $211 billion in T-notes and floating-rate note auctions. T-notes remained lower after US weekly initial unemployment claims unexpectedly fell to a 7-month low, a sign of labor market strength that is hawkish for Fed policy.
European government bond yields are mixed. The 10-year German bund yield rebounded from a 1.5-week low of 2.660% and is up +1.1 bp to 2.683%. The 10-year UK gilt yield fell to a 1.5-week low of 4.419% and is down -2.1 bp to 4.473%.
ECB Governing Council member Boris Vujcic said risks to economic growth and inflation in the Eurozone are balanced, and "for the time being," interest rates are in a good place.
Swaps are discounting a 2% chance for a -25 bp rate cut by the ECB at its next policy meeting on December 18.
US Stock Movers
Strength in chip makers is a supportive factor for the overall market. ASML Holding NV (ASML) is up more than +4%, and Marvell Technology (MRVL), Micron Technology (MU), and Intel (INTC) are up more than +2%. Also, Nvidia (NVDA), Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), ARM Holdings Plc (ARM), Analog Devices (ADI), Lam Research (LRCX), NXP Semiconductors NV (NXPI), and ON Semiconductor (ON) are up more than +1%.
Urban Outfitters (URBN) is up more than +12% after reporting Q3 net sales of $1.53 billion, better than the consensus of $1.49 billion.
Autodesk (ADSK) is up more than +7% to lead gainers in the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq 100 after reporting Q3 billings of $1.86 billion, above the consensus of $1.84 billion, and raising its 2025 billings estimate to $7.47 billion-$7.53 billion from a previous estimate of $7.36 billion-$7.45 billion, stronger than the consensus of $7.41 billion.
Robinhood Markets (HOOD) is up more than +6% after announcing it has bought a majority stake in LedgerX, a US-based derivatives exchange, giving Robinhood access to the prediction markets.
Oscar Health (OSCR) is up more than +6% after Piper Sandler upgraded the stock to overweight from neutral with a price target of $25.
Dell Technologies (DELL) is up more than +2% after raising its 2026 revenue forecast to $112.2 billion-$112.2 billion from a previous forecast of $105 billion-$109 billion, stronger than the consensus of $107.94 billion.
Amentum Holdings (AMTM) is up more than +1% after Morgan Stanley upgraded the stock to equal weight from underweight.
Nutanix (NTNX) is down more than -17% after reporting Q1 revenue of $670.6 million, weaker than the consensus of $676.6 million, and cutting its 2026 revenue forecast to $2.82 billion-$2.86 billion from a previous forecast of $2.90 billion-$2.94 billion, well below the consensus of $2.92 billion.
Ambarella (AMBA) is down more than -13% after forecasting Q4 adjusted gross margin of 59% to 60.5%, below the consensus of 60.6%.
Zscaler (ZS) is down more than -10% to lead losers in the Nasdaq 100 after forecasting 2026 revenue of $3.28 billion-$3.30 billion, only slightly above the consensus of $3.28 billion.
Workday (WDAY) is down more than -8% to lead losers in the S&P 500 after reporting Q3 subscription revenue of $2.24 billion, right on consensus.
Deere & Co (DE) is down more than -3% after forecasting 2026 net income of $4.00 billion to $4.75 billion, well below the consensus of $5.31 billion.
HP Inc (HPQ) is down more than -2% after forecasting 2026 adjusted EPS of $2.90 to $3.20, weaker than the consensus of $3.32.
