Deere & Company engages in the manufacture and distribution of various equipment worldwide. The company operates through four segments: Production and Precision Agriculture, Small Agriculture and Turf, Construction and Forestry, and Financial Services. The Production and Precision Agriculture segment provides large and medium tractors, combines, cotton pickers and strippers, sugarcane harvesters and loaders, harvesting front-end equipment, pull-behind scrapers, and tillage and seeding equipment, as well as application equipment, including sprayers and nutrient management, and soil preparation machinery for grain growers. The Small Agriculture and Turf segment offers utility tractors, and related loaders and attachments; turf and utility equipment, including riding lawn equipment, commercial mowing equipment, golf course equipment, and utility vehicles, as well as implements for mowing, tilling, snow and debris handling, aerating, residential, commercial, golf, and sports turf care applications; other outdoor power products; and hay and forage equipment. This segment also resells products from other manufacturers. It serves dairy and livestock producers, crop producers, and turf and utility customers. The Construction and Forestry segment provides a range of backhoe loaders, crawler dozers and loaders, four-wheel-drive loaders, excavators, motor graders, articulated dump trucks, landscape and skid-steer loaders, milling machines, pavers, compactors, rollers, crushers, screens, asphalt plants, log skidders, log feller bunchers, log loaders and forwarders, log harvesters, and attachments; and roadbuilding equipment. The Financial Services segment finances sales and leases agriculture and turf, and construction and forestry equipment. It also offers wholesale financing to dealers of the foregoing equipment; and extended equipment warranties, as well as finances retail revolving charge accounts. The company was founded in 1837 and is headquartered in Moline, Illinois.

Deere is currently focused on its silviculture strategy, which will be aided by this deal with Risutec, along with providing customers involved in reforestation with solutions for sustainable forestry.
Risutec’s knowledge of advanced mechanized tree planting solutions and global markets is compatible with Deere’s existing precision forestry software. Deere's precision forestry software uses the existing capabilities of its equipment to unlock advanced operational potential. Deere's Precision Forestry tools, including TimberMatic Maps and TimberManager, enable customers to coordinate performance between forest operations and the back office. DE designed these platforms to revolutionize the planning, implementation and monitoring of logging activities.
Deere expects the deal to add synergies and talent to its precision forestry portfolio, with Risutec's products significantly reducing reliance on manual tree planting. This will lower labor exposure to extreme weather, terrain and wildlife, as well as increase productivity.
The tree planters can be configured to suit the operational conditions of the customer. For enhanced productivity and forestry management data analysis, customers can also integrate with precision forestry software. The company has planned to sell and produce maintenance for these lines of tree planters through select Deere and Waratah forestry equipment dealers across the world.

Lindsay Corporation LNN acquired a 49.9% minority interest in Pessl Instruments GmbH in January 2025, enhancing its position as an irrigation management and scheduling solution provider in the industry.
Under this acquisition, Lindsay will benefit from Pessl’s leading position in specialty crop applications. Whereas, Pessl will benefit from Lindsay’s leading position in row crop applications. Customers using Lindsay's FieldNET and Pessl's METOS solutions will gain from advanced agronomic insights, which will provide them with informed decisions for healthier crops, optimized resource use and higher yields.
AGCO Corporation AGCO is focusing on strategic transformation, wherein it intends to streamline and focus its portfolio of agricultural machinery and precision ag technology solutions. In line with this, on Apr. 1, 2024, AGCO Corp formed a joint venture with Trimble to form PTx Trimble. PTx Trimble is now a new company with an 85% stake in AGCO and a 15% stake in Trimble.
On Nov. 1, the company sold the majority of its Grain & Protein business to American Industrial Partners. AGCO Corp intends to use the net proceeds from the transaction per its capital allocation goals, which include debt repayment, disciplined investment in technology and organic growth initiatives and capital return to shareholders.

Noteworthy ETF Outflows: DSI, DE, LOW, WELL

Last week, the U.S. market performance was mixed, with gains from strong corporate earnings largely neutralized by slower growth expectations, rising inflation concerns and geopolitical tension. The three major indexes, like the Nasdaq Composite, the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average, managed to stay afloat by 0.18%, 0.60% and 0.35%, respectively. Investors are concerned over uncertainty caused by the tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump, and rising geopolitical tensions between the United States and Iran.
The Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the Producer Price Index (PPI), which measures wholesale inflation, rose 0.5% for the month of January, after advancing by a downwardly revised 0.4% in December, exceeding the 0.3% consensus estimate. Core PPI climbed 0.8% after gaining 0.6% in December. These higher-than-expected numbers suggest that inflation may not be cooling as quickly as hoped. Weekly jobless claims remained low at 212,000, showing that the labor market is still relatively strong.
Overall, the U.S. economy remains resilient, supported by strong corporate profits and a solid job market, but inflation pressures and geopolitical risks continue to create uncertainty.

1. Deere & Co.
Deere & Co. (NYSE: DE) dominates the market for agricultural machinery and related tools including software, and the company has experienced something of a renaissance this year as it's rightfully being seen as a winner from AI.
Year-to-date, Deere & Co. stock is up 35% as the company is well positioned to capitalize on the AI boom. It's investing in areas like autonomous tractors, AI-powered cameras that can identify weeds and spray herbicide, and predictive maintenance to monitor machinery and reduce downtime.
By doing so, Deere is pivoting to technology while leveraging its brand advantage in a way that a typical software company can't. Its reputation and reach with farmers also make it difficult to displace, as the technology comes with the equipment it sells.
Even after its strong performance this year, Deere & Co. still pulled back last week, losing 5% in part on tariff-related fears. Deere is expensive now at a price-to-earnings ratio of 34, but that valuation seems warranted given the company's potential in AI.
2. GE Vernova
Energy consumption is expected to spike from the AI boom, which puts energy generators in a good position, and GE Vernova (NYSE: GEV) is a leader in the industry.
Like Deere, GE Vernova (NYSE: GEV) has surged this year, up 34% so far. The company manufactures power turbines using a wide range of energy sources, including gas, nuclear, hydro, and wind, making it a valuable partner for data centers and increasing demand for energy from AI.
GE Vernova shares actually rose last week as it seemed to benefit from a well-circulated AI doomsday blog post, as the company stands to benefit from growth in AI.
GE Vernova has delivered mid-teens growth and is premium-priced at a P/E ratio of 50, but it's in a unique position to capitalize on growing energy demand. The stock might not seem like a blue chip as it's only been public since 2024, but its assets were part of the GE conglomerate, and it's soared since GE broke up then.
3. Microsoft
Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) has been one of the biggest victims of the AI-driven software sell-off at least on a market-cap basis, and it pulled back last week as well, falling 1% in a volatile week.
However, Microsoft continues to deliver strong growth, and even if you buy into the AI disruption narrative, the company is much more than just a software business. It also owns 27% of OpenAI, giving it a major stake in the most valuable AI start-up.
Microsoft is now down nearly 30% from its peak just a few months ago, setting up an attractive buying opportunity. Its P/E ratio has fallen to 24.5, making it both cheaper than the S&P 500 and one of the cheapest stocks in the "Magnificent Seven."
Microsoft looks poised to continue delivering mid-teens growth, making the stock a good bet to outperform at the current valuation.

AI start-up Anthropic announced that its Claude Code tool could modernize COBOL coding language, which is a major asset of International Business Machines. That sent shares of IBM down 13% on the day, its worst single-day loss since 2000.

In addition, over the previous weekend Citrini Research issued a note about a possible scenario -- two years from now -- when AI's displacement of jobs has sent the unemployment rate above 10% and aggregate demand in the economy has begun to plummet.
If, like me, you read a lot of investing and macroeconomic commentary, you know the Citrini report was seemingly all anyone was writing about early in the week. The authors emphasized that what they described was a scenario, not a prediction, but it spooked markets nonetheless and the S&P 500 index fell 1% on the day.
Investors are seeking stocks not vulnerable to AI
As a result of growing concerns about the impact of AI, some investors have begun to seek out so-called HALO stocks. HALO stands for "heavy assets, low obsolescence," and it is a group of stocks deemed to be less vulnerable to disruption by AI. In fact, some of these companies may become more profitable thanks to AI.
So, what kinds of stocks are deemed to be HALO? Well, they range widely. Think of companies that can't immediately be replaced or diminished by AI, and you're thinking HALO stocks. Financial commentator and writer Josh Brown, who coined the acronym, says HALO companies are those that are "undisruptable companies from an AI standpoint."
He points to ExxonMobil (NYSE: XOM) as a great example, in addition to energy stocks more broadly. They have significant heavy assets that AI cannot replace or replicate, and they may even benefit from efficiencies AI can offer.
Some other potential HALO stocks mentioned in the media include fast food giant McDonald's (NYSE: MCD), delivery firm FedEx (NYSE: FDX), beverage behemoth Coca-Cola (NYSE: KO), construction and agriculture equipment makers Caterpillar (NYSE: CAT) and Deere (NYSE: DE). Those five stocks are among the best performers in the S&P 500 this year, while IBM is down 20% year to date, and stocks of software makers are plunging.
Of course, there are many more such companies that could be characterized as less vulnerable to displacement or obsolescence as a result of AI. They may be worth a look.

The Deere Board of Directors today declared a quarterly dividend of $1.62 per share payable May 8, 2026, to stockholders of record on March 31, 2026.
The UnitedHealth Group board of directors has authorized payment of a cash dividend of $2.21 per share, to be paid on March 17, 2026, to all shareholders of record of UNH common stock as of the close of business March 9, 2026.
Stanley Black & Decker, a global leader in tools and outdoor solutions, announced today that its Board of Directors approved a regular first quarter cash dividend of $0.83 per common share. The dividend is payable on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, to shareholders of record as of the close of business on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
Northern Oil and Gas today announced that its Board of Directors has declared a cash dividend on the Company's common stock. NOG's Board of Directors has declared a cash dividend in the amount of $0.45 per share, representing the same level from the prior year's dividend and the same level as the prior quarter. The dividend is payable on April 30, 2026, to stockholders of record as of the close of business on March 30, 2026. Management has recommended to the Board of Directors to maintain the common stock dividend at $0.45 per share per quarter for calendar year 2026
Danaher announced today that its Board of Directors has approved a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.40 per share of its common stock, payable on April 24, 2026 to holders of record on March 27, 2026.
Gap announced today that its board of directors has authorized a first quarter fiscal year 2026 dividend of $0.175 per share, payable on or after April 29, 2026, to shareholders of record at the close of business on April 8, 2026. The first quarter fiscal year 2026 dividend represents an increase of 6 percent compared to the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2025.

Daily Dividend Report: DE,UNH,SWK,NOG,DHR,GAP

Wall Street surged last week, marking strong weekly gains as market watchers raised its expectations for a significant interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve. The S&P 500 gained 0.5%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite increased 0.7%, both logging their fifth successive day of gains. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.5%, or about 300 points.
For the week, the Nasdaq rose more than 5%, marking its best performance of the year. U.S. semiconductor stocks logged a rally last week.The S&P 500 gained 4%, and the Dow increased by 2%. These gains came amid a volatile market, but the rapid recovery coincided with intensifying debate over interest rate policy.
Interest Rate Cut Expectations Rise
The market’s upward momentum was aided by increasing anticipation of a half-point interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve, which was previously viewed as unlikely. Traders are now assigning a 49% probability to a 50-basis point cut next week, up from just 15% on Sept. 12, 2024.
This shift in expectations was aided by reports from the Financial Times and The Wall Street Journal, suggesting the Fed's decision on Sept. 18 will be closely contested. Former New York Fed President Bill Dudley added to the speculation, stating there is a "strong case" for a deeper rate cut.
Treasury Yields Fall Amid Rate Cut Debate
The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury declined to 3.66% on Sept. 13, 2024 from 3.70% recorded on Sept. 9, 2024. The recent fluctuations in Treasury yields reflect ongoing market uncertainty over whether the Fed will opt for a 0.25% or 0.5% rate cut, as concerns over a labor market weakness and recession risks continue to cause volatility.

IWX, DIS, HON, DE: ETF Outflow Alert

Deere & Company DE has reported first-quarter fiscal 2026 (ended Feb. 1, 2026) earnings of $2.42 per share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.92 on Feb. 19, 2026 before market open. However, the bottom line fell 24% from the prior-year quarter.
Net sales of equipment operations (comprising Agriculture, and Turf, Construction and Forestry) were $8 billion, up 17.5% from the prior-year quarter. Revenues beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $7.6 billion.
Total net sales (including financial services and others) were $9.61 billion, up 13% from the year-earlier quarter. The upside was driven by higher shipment volumes, partially offset by higher tariffs. Post earnings, shares gained about 11.6% on Feb. 19, 2026.
DE’s Segmental Performances in Q1
The Production & Precision Agriculture segment’s sales grew 3% from the prior-year quarter to $3.16 billion due to favorable foreign currency translation. Small Agriculture & Turf sales were up 24%. Construction & Forestry sales were $2.67 billion, up 34% year over year.
The cost of sales in the reported quarter grew 24.7% from the prior-year quarter to $6.28 billion. Total gross profit in the reported quarter fell 2.9% from the prior-year quarter to $1.72 billion.
Deere’s 2026 Guidance
The world's largest farm-equipment maker expects net income for fiscal 2026 between $4.5 billion and $5 billion, increased from the prior stated $4.00-$4.75 billion. Analysts on average expect Deere to post full-year net income of $4.45 billion, according to data compiled by LSEG, as quoted on Reuters.
Net sales for Production & Precision Agriculture are expected to decrease 5-10% year over year. Deere now expects 2026 net sales in two segments - Small Agriculture & Turf and Construction & Forestry - to rise about 15% each compared with its previous forecast for about 10% uptick.
"We're encouraged by the ongoing recovery in demand within both the construction and small agriculture segments," CEO John May said, as quoted on Reuters. However, Deere expects a pre-tax tariff hit of around $1.2 billion in fiscal 2026.
