Elon Musk's Space Exploration Technologies (NASDAQ: SPCX) completed its historic initial public offering (IPO) on Friday, June 12. The rocket and satellite company raised a record $75 billion at an unprecedented market value of $1.7 trillion.
SpaceX stock is down 42% from its post-IPO high, partly because some insiders will be allowed to sell shares two days after the company reports second-quarter financial results on August 4. But a rich valuation, debt issuance, and launch delays have also factored into the decline.

Nevertheless, Wall Street is overwhelmingly bullish. Among 37 analysts, SpaceX has a median target of $225 per share, implying 96% upside from its current share price of $115. My prediction is a little more conservative: I think SpaceX will trade at $167 per share by June 2027.
Here's why.
SpaceX is chasing a $26.5 trillion opportunity in AI products and services
SpaceX is a vertically integrated business that designs hardware and software across three operating segments: space, connectivity, and artificial intelligence. The company has a key competitive advantage in reusable rockets, which dramatically reduce launch costs. That economic moat has helped SpaceX build Starlink, the largest satellite internet service in the world.
SpaceX also runs two Colossus data centers, which collectively form the largest AI training cluster on the planet. Using its low-cost launch capabilities, massive satellite network, and AI expertise, the company plans to provide AI cloud services from orbital (space-based) data centers. Solar power and cold temperatures could solve the energy and cooling problems that limit terrestrial data centers.
"We believe we are the only company with a commercially viable path to building orbital AI compute at scale," SpaceX explains its SEC Form S-1. The company values its addressable market at $28.5 billion, and the vast majority of that sum ($26.5 trillion) is attributed to AI products and services.
Wall Street says SpaceX's revenue will grow at 102% annually through 2028
In the first quarter, SpaceX reported a net loss of $4.2 billion, but the company has plenty of cash on its balance sheet after raising $75 billion from its initial public offering (IPO) and AI revenue is likely to grow quickly in the quarters ahead. Anthropic and Alphabet have agreed to rent cloud capacity from SpaceX for monthly fees of $1.25 billion and $920 million, respectively.
SpaceX brought in revenue of $19.3 billion in the past year, and the company currently has a market value of $1.5 trillion as of July 25. Those figures give SpaceX a price-to-sales ratio of 78. That would be a very rich valuation in almost any circumstance, but it's tolerable here because Wall Street estimates sales will increase at 102% annually through 2028. In other words, SpaceX currently trades at about 11 times projected sales for 2028.
History says SpaceX's stock price will increase 45% by June 2027
SpaceX had a market capitalization of $1.7 trillion at its IPO price of $135 per share. That made it the largest IPO in history by a wide margin. There is no perfect comparison, but we can look at how other large IPOs have performed to make an educated guess about where SpaceX is headed.

Among the 10 largest U.S. IPOs in history, the average stock returned 24% during its first year on the public market. If SpaceX follows that trajectory, the stock will trade at $167 per share in June 2027. That implies 45% upside from the current share price of $115.
I think $167 per share is a sensible forecast. It implies a market value of $2.1 trillion, which means the stock would trade at 30 times projected sales for 2027. That is not cheap, but it is much cheaper than the current valuation.
More importantly, even if I am wrong about SpaceX reaching $167 per share by June 2027, I think patient investors who buy the stock today will outperform the S&P 500 over the next five years. I would start with a small position and add shares if the stock continues to move lower.

Instacart’s dataset, built from more than 1.6 billion lifetime orders, gives it insight into substitutions, basket composition, grocery intent and meal planning. That matters because grocery search is highly specific, and small improvements can affect conversion and fulfillment quality.
Cart Assistant, its conversational shopping tool, is available to about 25% of U.S. customers. Instacart is also improving search, recommendations and AI-powered replacement flows, while integrations with ChatGPT and Claude could become additional demand channels.

CART Expands Retail Media Across More Channels
Advertising and other revenues rose 16% year over year to $286 million in the first quarter of 2026. Instacart now supports more than 9,000 advertising brands and more than 310 Carrot Ads partners.
Sponsored placements, display ads, coupons and off-platform partnerships extend the company’s first-party data beyond its own marketplace. Automated campaign creation and AI recommendations in Ads Manager may also lower the barrier for smaller brands.
Amazon.com AMZN and Walmart Inc. WMT remain relevant comparisons because both are using retail scale and shopper data to build advertising businesses. DoorDash Inc. DASH is also expanding commerce-media tools for brands, showing that delivery platforms are competing for ad budgets, not just orders.
Instacart Pushes Storefront Pro Internationally
Storefront Pro gives retailers white-label e-commerce technology without requiring Instacart to rebuild its domestic marketplace model in each country. The platform already powers more than 380 grocery e-commerce sites.
The international push is early but notable. Storefront Pro launched with Costco in Spain and France, and demand is tracking ahead of management’s initial expectations. Instacart’s acquisition of Instaleap adds retailer relationships across nearly 30 countries, especially in Europe and Latin America.

CART Faces New Costs as Its Ecosystem Scales
The opportunity is not cost-free. In the first quarter, cost of revenues rose 24% to $281 million, outpacing the 14% increase in total revenues.
Higher credit-card processing fees, publisher payments and depreciation and amortization weighed on gross-profit trends. Publisher payments are especially important because Carrot Ads and off-platform partnerships may require more revenue sharing as the ad network scales.
Regulation is another risk. California’s Proposition 22 already imposes shopper pay and benefit standards, and New York City enacted grocery-delivery worker protections in 2025.
Instacart’s Trend Signals Favor Selective Optimism
The bottom line is that Instacart’s emerging growth model looks broader than delivery volume alone. AI may improve shopping relevance, retail media can lift monetization, and enterprise software may expand the addressable market with less capital intensity.

Instacart's AI and Advertising Push Could Reshape Its Growth Outlook

Maplebear Inc. CART, doing business as Instacart, presents a balanced investment setup after a quarter that mixed healthy marketplace growth with visible margin pressure.
The stock’s current valuation partly reflects that tension. CART trades below its own historical sales multiple, but still at a premium to its sub-industry and sector, making execution increasingly important.
CART Delivers Strong Revenue and GTV Growth
Instacart’s first-quarter revenue rose 14% year over year to $1.019 billion, topping the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.005 billion. Gross transaction value increased 13% to $10.288 billion, marking the ninth straight quarter of double-digit growth.
Earnings were also higher. CART reported earnings of 57 cents per share, up 54% from the year-ago period, though the figure missed the consensus mark by a penny. That creates a nuanced picture: demand and revenue trends remain solid, but investor expectations were not fully met.
Orders rose 10% to 91.2 million, while average order value increased 3% to $113. The gap between gross transaction value and order growth shows deeper engagement, but also points to more moderate order expansion.

Instacart Faces Persistent Gross-Margin Pressure
The main concern is gross margin. GAAP gross margin fell to 72% from 75% in the year-ago quarter, while gross profit as a percentage of gross transaction value slipped to 7.2% from 7.4%.
Cost of revenue rose 24% to $281 million, outpacing revenue growth. The increase reflected higher credit-card processing fees, publisher payments and depreciation and amortization.
Publisher payments are tied partly to Carrot Ads and off-platform advertising partnerships. That matters because advertising diversification can expand revenue opportunities, but it may also bring traffic-acquisition and revenue-sharing costs that limit gross-margin recovery.
CART Valuation Offers a Mixed Investor Setup
CART trades at 2.27X forward 12-month sales, below its two-year median of 2.81X. The $45 price target reflects 2.41X forward sales, suggesting some valuation support versus the stock’s historical range.
The setup is not clearly cheap, though. CART’s multiple is above the Zacks sub-industry’s 1.92X and the Zacks Retail-Wholesale sector’s 1.47X, even if it remains below the S&P 500’s 4.97X.
Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN remains a relevant comparison because large digital-commerce platforms compete for online grocery and retail media spending. DoorDash, Inc. DASH also frames the delivery and local-commerce competition facing Instacart.

Instacart Buybacks Support Per-Share Value
Instacart generated $253 million in free cash flow in the first quarter, despite a $60 million regulatory settlement payment. It also repurchased $349 million of shares and ended the quarter with roughly $880 million in cash and similar assets.
The company later added $1 billion to its share-repurchase authorization. Continued buybacks may support per-share value if cash generation remains consistent.
Still, capital deployment is not risk-free. Regulatory settlements, strategic acquisitions, technology investment and international expansion could all compete with repurchases for future cash.
CART’s Near-Term Signals Lean Positive
CART looks attractive for investors focused on near-term earnings-revision momentum and growth, but not without trade-offs. Revenue, gross transaction value, earnings and buybacks are moving in the right direction, while margin compression and competition risk keep the long-term case balanced.

Is CART Stock Attractive After Strong Growth and Margin Pressure?

Domino’s Pizza, Inc. DPZ remains a closely watched restaurant stock because its operating story is still producing volume gains, even as the latest quarter gave investors a mixed read on earnings and sales.
The key question is whether order growth, digital reach and store expansion can keep supporting results while ticket pressure, promotions and costs limit near-term visibility.
Domino’s Model Has Multiple Growth Levers
Domino’s operates through three reportable segments: U.S. stores, international franchise and supply chain. In fiscal 2025, supply chain generated 60.5% of revenues, ahead of U.S. stores at 32.6% and international franchise at 6.9%.
That mix matters. Higher system sales can lift franchise royalties and fees while also driving more product flow through the supply-chain network. The model gives Domino’s several ways to participate when its stores handle more orders.
DPZ Orders Are Still the Core Signal
Order counts were the most important signal in the second quarter of fiscal 2026. Management said Domino’s generated meaningful order-count growth across both delivery and carryout, even as broader U.S. quick-service restaurant transaction volumes were flat.

That distinction is important because growth did not simply reflect a healthier category. It suggested relative strength, with millions of new customers coming into the brand during a period when restaurant demand remained pressured.
Same-store sales were less convincing. U.S. same-store sales rose 0.1%, as stronger order counts were offset by lower average ticket. Delivery comparable sales declined 0.7%, while carryout increased 1.1%.
Domino’s Digital Reach Keeps Expanding
Domino’s digital reach is widening through loyalty, aggregators and integration across ordering channels. A larger loyalty base gives the company more opportunities to build frequency after new customers enter the system.
Uber Technologies, Inc. UBER is important to the story because it expands Domino’s access to customers who prefer third-party delivery marketplaces. DoorDash, Inc. DASH plays a similar role, giving the brand another digital channel while Domino’s keeps fulfillment tied to its own operating systems.
The company’s own digital infrastructure helps coordinate orders from Domino’s channels and aggregator platforms with food preparation and driver availability, supporting fulfillment across delivery channels.
DPZ Expansion Still Supports the Long View
Domino’s ended the second quarter with 22,531 stores worldwide, including 7,231 U.S. stores and 15,300 international stores. The system opened 250 stores and closed 41 in the quarter, resulting in 209 net openings.
International development remains a major part of the long-term story. The international system added 183 net stores in the quarter and 825 over the trailing four quarters.
Management continues to expect about 800 international net new stores in 2026. That growth can expand the royalty base, deepen global scale and increase the retail sales platform over time.
Where DPZ Ratings Temper the Story
The bottom line is that Domino’s operating narrative remains constructive, but the stock still carries caution. Order growth, wider access and global unit development support the business case, while ticket weakness, competitive promotions, cautious consumers and higher costs keep the setup from looking clean.
DPZ currently carries a Zacks Rank #4 (Sell). That rank adds a near-term warning to the story, especially with fiscal 2026 earnings estimates down over the past 30 days.

Joining the Nasdaq-100 represents a big milestone, as it includes the biggest non-financial companies on the Nasdaq. The idea is, once a company joins, it may see its share price advance as managers of funds tracking this index buy shares -- since their funds must mimic the index's performance, they have to make these additions.
The Nasdaq-100 rebalances annually to remove certain members and add new ones, and it also may add members at other points in the year. And this brings me to the reason why the Nasdaq-100 has drawn attention in recent times. The index adjusted its admission rules to allow companies in sooner after their market launches than ever before -- and that resulted in Space Exploration Technologies (NASDAQ: SPCX) joining the Nasdaq-100 earlier this month.

So now, with SpaceX newly in the index, investors may be wondering: What happens to stocks after joining the benchmark? History has a clear answer.
An Elon Musk-led company
So, first, a note about SpaceX. The company, a giant in rocket launches, satellite-based connectivity, and artificial intelligence (AI), has drawn great attention from investors due to this dynamic mix of businesses. And some investors also like the idea of being involved in a business led by Elon Musk. Also at the helm of electric vehicle giant Tesla, he's known for his commitment to innovation.
SpaceX's IPO, the world's largest, was massively oversubscribed, and the stock rose right out of the gate, gaining 67% from the IPO price of $135 to a peak of $225 on June 16. And the company's trillion-dollar valuation helped it land a spot on the Nasdaq-100 on July 7, about 15 days after its launch as part of the index's new "fast track" rules. Prior to this, a company had to wait at least three months for inclusion.
So far, the Nasdaq-100 addition hasn't brought SpaceX lasting gains. The stock has declined from its peak, and as of the July 17 market close, SpaceX traded at $123.99, significantly below its IPO price.

As we can see, six out of 10 stocks advanced during this time period. But in the case of Seagate Technology and Western Digital, we can't attribute the movement to entrance in the index: Both companies are involved in the booming AI memory and storage businesses, and stocks in the industry have soared this year.
So history offers us a clear answer: While a stock may see a bit of upward momentum around the time of its addition to the index, it's generally limited in size and duration. In some cases, it's hardly even noticeable.
SpaceX has echoed this, advancing slightly right after the addition. But then the stock plummeted in the days to follow.
Look to earnings
What does this mean for you as an investor? A stock's entry into a particular index isn't a reason to add that player to your portfolio. It's great that a company is acknowledged as a giant of the times, but this doesn't necessarily make it a fantastic investment. Instead, investors should look to the company's earnings track record, or if the company isn't yet profitable, consider its path to profitability: Does it have a clear roadmap and goals that are attainable? And it's important to consider your own investment style too.
For example, SpaceX isn't yet profitable, and some of its biggest goals rely on technology that hasn't yet been proven -- if the company reaches its goals, it may be a smashing success, but along the way, the stock carries a significant amount of risk. So, while SpaceX may be appropriate for a very aggressive investor, it's not the best choice for a cautious investor.
History offers us a clear message: Nasdaq-100 membership, while exciting, isn't the key to stock performance. All of this means it's a better idea to turn our attention to the company's -- whether it's SpaceX or another -- next earnings reports and progress toward goals.

What Happens to Stocks After Joining the Nasdaq-100 (History Has a Clear Answer)

Etsy, Inc.’s ETSY mobile app is emerging as the centerpiece of the company’s marketplace transformation, with management increasingly positioning it as the primary platform to improve buyer engagement and shopping frequency. Rather than serving as just another purchase channel, the app is becoming the primary destination where Etsy is deploying personalization, machine learning and direct customer engagement to strengthen marketplace activity.
The momentum is already becoming visible. During the first quarter of 2026, mobile app Gross Merchandise Sales (“GMS”) rose 11.2% year over year, accelerating from 6.6% growth in the preceding quarter. The app now accounts for about 47% of total marketplace GMS, an increase of 240 basis points from the prior year, with app GMS continuing to outperform non-app growth. Management believes this reflects improving buyer engagement as users interact more frequently with personalized experiences.
The company is investing heavily in features that make the app more relevant for each shopper. AI-powered buyer profiles, personalized home feeds, smarter recommendations and more targeted push notifications are designed to move beyond displaying popular products and instead surface listings that align with individual tastes while encouraging exploration across new shopping occasions. Early testing has produced improvements in add-to-cart activity, conversion and overall engagement.
Management also highlighted that app users deliver approximately 40% higher lifetime value than non-app users because they visit more often, engage more deeply and convert at higher rates. While purchase frequency has not yet meaningfully accelerated, Etsy believes stronger app engagement is an important leading indicator that can gradually translate into more frequent shopping over time as the broader marketplace strategy continues to evolve.
DoorDash & Shopify: App Innovation Drives User Engagement
DoorDash, Inc. DASH is strengthening app engagement through AI-powered shopping enhancements and a richer end-to-end user experience. DoorDash plans to introduce agentic ordering, smarter search, personalized discovery and improved customer support to make shopping faster and more intuitive. Management also highlighted record DashPass engagement and growing membership adoption, reinforcing DoorDash’s strategy of increasing user retention and purchase frequency through a superior app experience.
Shopify Inc. SHOP is also accelerating app-driven engagement by expanding AI-powered discovery and commerce capabilities. The Shopify Shop App delivered 70% GMV growth and more than 40% growth in monthly active users in the first quarter of 2026, while unique buyers increased more than 50% year over year. Shopify is further enhancing engagement through AI-powered search, personalized recommendations and Sidekick, helping merchants attract shoppers and improve conversion.
What the Latest Metrics Say About Etsy
Etsy has seen its shares jump 44.8% over the past three months against the industry’s 2.4% decline.
From a valuation standpoint, Etsy's forward 12-month price-to-earnings ratio stands at 13.79, lower than the industry’s ratio of 21.85. ETSY is also trading below its 12-month median level of 20.
The Zacks Consensus Estimate for Etsy's earnings per share has seen a downward revision. The consensus estimate for the current fiscal year has fallen from $5.55 to $5.41, while the estimate for the next fiscal year has declined from $6.40 to 6.29 over the past 30 days.

On July 7, Space Exploration Technologies (NASDAQ: SPCX) became one of the newest members of the Nasdaq-100, added just 15 trading days after its record-setting public debut under a new fast-entry rule. Roughly $800 billion sits in funds that track that index, so every one of them had to buy the stock, and that mechanical demand has grabbed a lot of headlines.
Here's the thing worth remembering: A stock may meet the criteria to be added to a prominent index, but that doesn't necessarily make it a good buy. Forced buying by passively managed funds can inflate the price of a freshly public, richly valued stock in the short term, but history is full of hyped-up index additions that later proved to be disappointing investments. Rather than chase the rocket, I'd point patient investors toward three quieter Nasdaq-100 members in the consumer world that are doing genuinely interesting things right now.

1. Keurig Dr Pepper: A beverage giant reinventing itself
Keurig Dr Pepper (NASDAQ: KDP) is in the middle of the boldest reinvention of its short life. It closed its roughly $18 billion acquisition of Dutch coffee company JDE Peet's this spring, and it plans to split itself into two focused, separately traded businesses by the end of 2026: a global coffee company and a North American refreshment-beverage company. The logic is that investors often value a focused business more highly than a sprawling one, so separating the two somewhat disparate units could bring value to the surface that's currently buried.
I'd weigh that against the debt the company took on to buy JDE Peet's, which meaningfully increased the combined company's leverage. That's the trade-off here: real transformation potential paired with a balance sheet that now has less room for error.
2. O'Reilly Automotive: The compounder hiding in plain sight
O'Reilly Automotive (NASDAQ: ORLY) sells auto parts, which sounds about as exciting as a Tuesday. But the company is the kind of steady grower that quietly builds wealth. When people keep older cars on the road longer, they need to buy more parts to fix them, which makes O'Reilly's business relatively resilient when household budgets tighten.
The company performed a 15-for-1 stock split in 2025, lowering its per-share price so smaller investors can more easily buy whole shares or trade its options, and it keeps expanding, including a growing footprint in Mexico that now tops 120 stores.
3. DoorDash: No longer just about dinner
Most people still think of DoorDash (NASDAQ: DASH) as the app that brings burritos or burgers to their door. What I find more compelling is how far beyond restaurants it has pushed its operation. Its late-2025 acquisition of Deliveroo extended its reach across Europe, and it now claims some of the fastest growth among third-party players in U.S. grocery and retail. It's also building a genuine advertising business and testing autonomous delivery to lower costs over time.
The honest counterweight: DoorDash is spending heavily in 2026 to consolidate its technology and fund these bets, which will likely put more pressure on its near-term profits even after a record 2025. The stock isn't cheap relative to today's earnings, but those who pick it up now are buying for the long game.
The takeaway for investors
SpaceX's arrival in the Nasdaq-100 may be a milestone, but membership in the index only tells you a company is big, not that its stock is attractively priced. Keurig Dr Pepper, O'Reilly Automotive, and DoorDash each offer a few things that SpaceX doesn't right now: established businesses, track records you can actually examine, and clearer lines of sight on how they make money. None is a risk-free investment -- one carries debt, one carries a premium price, and one carries heavy spending -- but for July, I think these three warrant a closer look far more than the stock that everyone is talking about.
As for SpaceX itself, I'd wait. Let the initial hype fade and give the company a few quarters as a public business to prove out its numbers first.

The case for DoorDash
DoorDash operates a local commerce platform that connects consumers with over 1 million merchants across 40 countries. The company has moved beyond restaurant delivery, signing major nationwide agreements with retailers like Dollar Tree and AutoParts.com to facilitate on-demand logistics. This strategy focuses on increasing the frequency of use by making the app a one-stop shop among tech stocks that serve local needs.
Financial performance has shown significant momentum recently. In FY 2025, revenue reached nearly $13.7 billion, representing growth of approximately 27.9% compared to the prior year. The company also generated a net income of close to $935.0 million, resulting in a net margin of roughly 6.8%. Net margin measures how much profit a company keeps from every dollar of sales.
On the balance sheet, the debt-to-equity ratio was approximately 0.3x as of December 2025, which compares total debt to shareholder equity. The current ratio, measuring the ability to pay short-term debts with current assets, was about 1.4x. Free cash flow was roughly $2.2 billion, though note that stock-based compensation represented roughly 43.2% of operating cash flow, which inflates reported cash generation since SBC is a non-cash expense added back in the cash flow statement.
The case for Uber Technologies
Uber operates a massive global network divided into mobility, delivery, and freight segments. The company has aggressively expanded its international footprint, recently receiving approval to acquire the Getir delivery business in Turkey. While it recently paused some European expansion to focus on acquiring Delivery Hero, Uber remains a dominant force in nearly every market where it operates.
The company's financial scale is substantial and growing. For FY 2025, revenue reached close to $52.0 billion, a nearly 18.3% increase over the previous fiscal year. Uber reported a net income of approximately $10.1 billion; however, nearly half of this reported profit resulted from a one-time, non-cash tax benefit of $5 billion related to its Dutch operations. This puts the company's true organic operating margin at around 9.7%. This still represents a healthy level of profitability as the company leverages its massive user base of over 200 million people.
As of its December 2025 balance sheet, the debt-to-equity ratio was roughly 0.4x, indicating the mix of debt and equity used to finance assets. The current ratio stood at approximately 1.1x, showing the company's ability to cover its short-term obligations. Free cash flow, or the cash left over after paying for operations and equipment, was nearly $9.8 billion for the fiscal year.
Risk profile comparison
DoorDash faces persistent legal challenges regarding whether its delivery drivers should be classified as independent contractors or employees. Adverse rulings could significantly raise labor costs and disrupt its fundamental business model. Additionally, the company competes in a crowded field against well-capitalized rivals like Amazon and Instacart. Settlement of lawsuits regarding unauthorized merchant listings and reliance on processors like PayPal also highlights ongoing reputational and operational risks.
Uber deals with intense scrutiny over its governance and safety practices, including derivative lawsuits involving the board of directors. The termination of its robotaxi partnership with Alphabet creates uncertainty around its future autonomous vehicle strategy. Global regulatory shifts regarding worker classification and the financial burden of managing thousands of lawsuits remain primary operational risks.

Which stock would I buy in 2026?
I'd go with Uber. DoorDash is having a strong year with record membership signups, a new high in monthly active users, and total orders growing at an impressive clip. The Deliveroo acquisition also opens up a bigger international runway. For a long-term investor focused purely on food delivery, DoorDash is a reasonable choice.
But Uber operates on a completely different scale. Gross bookings grew more than 20% for the third consecutive quarter and trips are up 20% year over year. The company is generating substantial free cash flow across both its ridesharing and delivery businesses. That combination of two large, growing platforms under one roof gives Uber a durability that DoorDash simply can't match yet.
Uber is also investing early and thoughtfully in autonomous vehicle partnerships, which positions it well regardless of how the AV landscape ultimately shakes out. DoorDash is a focused bet on delivery. But Uber is a bet on how people and goods move around the world. For a long-term investor, that bigger canvas wins.

Looking at the underlying holdings of the ETFs in our coverage universe at ETF Channel, we have compared the trading price of each holding against the average analyst 12-month forward target price, and computed the weighted average implied analyst target price for the ETF itself.
