Bunge Global SA operates as an agribusiness and food company worldwide. It operates through four segments: Agribusiness, Refined and Specialty Oils, Milling, and Sugar and Bioenergy. The Agribusiness segment purchases, stores, transports, processes, and sells agricultural commodities and commodity products, including oilseeds primarily soybeans, rapeseed, canola, and sunflower seeds, as well as grains comprising wheat and corn; and processes oilseeds into vegetable oils and protein meals. This segment offers its products for animal feed manufacturers, livestock producers, wheat and corn millers, and other oilseed processors, as well as third-party edible oil processing and biofuel companies for biofuel production applications. The Refined and Specialty Oils segment sells packaged and bulk oils and fats that comprise cooking oils, shortenings, margarines, mayonnaise, renewable diesel feedstocks, and other products for baked goods companies, snack food producers, confectioners, restaurant chains, foodservice operators, infant nutrition companies, and other food manufacturers, as well as grocery chains, wholesalers, distributors, and other retailers. This segment also refines and fractionates palm oil, palm kernel oil, coconut oil, and shea butter, and olive oil; and produces specialty ingredients derived from vegetable oils, such as lecithin. The Milling segment provides wheat flours and bakery mixes; corn milling products that comprise dry-milled corn meals and flours, wet-milled masa and flours, and flaking and brewer's grits, as well as soy-fortified corn meal, corn-soy blends, and other products; whole grain and fiber ingredients; die-cut pellets; and non-GMO products. The Sugar and Bioenergy segment produces sugar and ethanol; and generates electricity from burning sugarcane bagasse. Bunge Global SA was founded in 1818 and is headquartered in Chesterfield, Missouri.

Bunge Ready to Report Q2 Earnings: What's in Store for the Stock?

Investors eyeing a purchase of Bunge Global SA (Symbol: BG) stock, but cautious about paying the going market price of $75.24/share, might benefit from considering selling puts among the alternative strategies at their disposal. One interesting put contract in particular, is the January 2026 put at the $65 strike, which has a bid at the time of this writing of $2.55. Collecting that bid as the premium represents a 3.9% return against the $65 commitment, or a 8% annualized rate of return (at Stock Options Channel we call this the YieldBoost).
Selling a put does not give an investor access to BG's upside potential the way owning shares would, because the put seller only ends up owning shares in the scenario where the contract is exercised. And the person on the other side of the contract would only benefit from exercising at the $65 strike if doing so produced a better outcome than selling at the going market price. So unless Bunge Global SA sees its shares decline 13.7% and the contract is exercised (resulting in a cost basis of $62.45 per share before broker commissions, subtracting the $2.55 from $65), the only upside to the put seller is from collecting that premium for the 8% annualized rate of return.
Worth considering, is that the annualized 8% figure actually exceeds the 3.7% annualized dividend paid by Bunge Global SA by 4.3%, based on the current share price of $75.24. And yet, if an investor was to buy the stock at the going market price in order to collect the dividend, there is greater downside because the stock would have to fall 13.66% to reach the $65 strike price.

Invesco S&P 500 Equal Weight ETF Experiences Big Outflow

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) Thursday closed up +0.38%, the Dow Jones Industrials Index ($DOWI) (DIA) closed up +0.24%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) closed up +0.24%. June E-mini S&P futures (ESM25) are up +0.32%, and June E-mini Nasdaq futures (NQM25) are up +0.19%.
Stock indexes on Thursday recovered from losses and moved higher as the US jobless claim and PPI reports were Fed-friendly, which knocked bond yields lower and boosted the prospects for Fed rate cuts. The 10-year T-note yield on Thursday fell -6 bp to 4.36%. Stocks and bonds maintained their gains Thursday afternoon as decent demand for the Treasury’s $22 billion auction of 30-year T-bonds curbed fears that mounting deficits would cause investors to shun US debt securities.

Stocks initially opened weaker on Thursday as comments from President Trump sparked trade uncertainty and risk-off sentiment in asset markets. Late Wednesday, Mr. Trump said he intends to send letters to dozens of US trading partners in the next one to two weeks setting unilateral tariffs, ahead of the July 9 deadline that came with his 90-day pause.
Also, rising geopolitical risks in the Middle East are negative for stocks. US authorities ordered some staff to depart the US embassy in Baghdad after Iran threatened to strike US bases in the region if attacked. Tensions in the region have increased this week as talks between the US and Iran over its advancing nuclear program appear to have hit an impasse. President Trump said Wednesday that he’s “less confident” about convincing Iran to shut down its nuclear program. The US and Iran are set to meet in Oman on Sunday for their sixth round of nuclear negotiations. If the US and Iran are at an impasse, it is possible that Israel might decide to proceed with a military attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
US weekly initial unemployment claims were unchanged at an 8-month high of 248,000, showing a weaker labor market than expectations of a decline to 242,000. Weekly continuing claims rose +54,000 to a 3-1/2 year high of 1.956 million, showing a weaker labor market than expectations of 1.910 million.
The US May final-demand PPI report moved up to +2.6% y/y from +2.5% y/y in April, right on expectations. The May PPI ex-food and energy report eased to +3.0% y/y from +3.2% y/y in April, better than expectations of +3.1% y/y.
The markets this week will focus on any fresh tariff news. On Friday, the preliminary June University of Michigan US consumer sentiment index is expected to climb +1.4 to 53.6.
The markets are discounting the chances at 3% for a -25 bp rate cut at the next FOMC meeting on June 17-18.
Overseas stock markets on Thursday settled mixed. The Euro Stoxx 50 fell to a 1-week low and closed down -0.609%. China’s Shanghai Composite closed up +0.012%. Japan’s Nikkei Stock 225 closed down -0.65%.
Interest Rates
September 10-year T-notes (ZNU25) Thursday closed up +12 ticks. The 10-year T-note yield fell -6.3 bp to 4.357%. Sep T-notes moved higher on Thursday on carryover support from a rally in European government bonds. Also, falling inflation expectations are supportive of T-notes as the 10-year breakeven inflation expectations rate dropped to a 5-week low Thursday of 2.262%. T-notes raced to their highs on the Fed-friendly jobless claim and PPI reports. T-notes maintained their gains on decent demand for the Treasury’s $22 billion auction of 30-year T-bonds that had a bid-to-cover ratio of 2.43, above the 10-auction average of 2.42.
Gains in T-notes were limited after a recovery in stocks curbed safe-haven demand for T-notes. Also, supply pressures weighed on T-notes as the Treasury auctioned $22 billion of 30-year T-bonds Thursday to conclude this week’s $119 billion auction package of T-notes and T-bonds.
European government bond yields on Thursday moved lower. The 10-year German bund yield fell to a 5-week low of 2.468% and finished down -5.7 bp to 2.478%. The 10-year UK gilt yield dropped to a 5-week low of 4.476% and finished down -7.6 bp to 4.477%.
ECB Executive Board member Schnabel said the ECB’s interest rate-cutting campaign may soon be over, with inflation and the economy both on track.
ECB Governing Council member Simkus said he favors a pause in interest rate moves by the ECB due to “very big uncertainty” over US tariff policy.
UK Apr manufacturing production fell -0.9% m/m, weaker than expectations of -0.7% m/m. Also, Apr industrial production fell -06% m/m, weaker than expectations of -0.5% m/m.
Swaps are discounting the chances at 13% for a -25 bp rate cut by the ECB at the July 24 policy meeting.
US Stock Movers
Oracle (ORCL) closed up more than +13% to lead gainers in the S&P 500 after reporting Q4 adjusted revenue of $15.90 billion, better than the consensus of $15.59 billion.
Calavo Growers (CVGW) closed up more than +16% after announcing it has received a non-binding, indicative proposal to acquire all of its outstanding shares for $32 a share.
Cardinal Health (CAH) closed up more than +4% to lead healthcare stocks higher after boosting its full-year adjusted EPS estimate to $8.15-$8.20 from a previous estimate of $8.05-$8.15. stronger than the consensus of $8.14. Also, UnitedHealth Group (UNH) closed up more than +2% to lead gainers in the Dow Jones Industrials. In addition, Humana (HUM), Cigna Group (CI), Elevance Health (ELV), and HCA Healthcare (HCA) closed up more than +1%.
Anglogold Ashanti Plc (AU) closed up more than +6% after Roth Capital Partners initiated coverage on the stock with a recommendation of buy and a price target of $52.
Datadog (DDOG) is up more than +3% to lead gainers in the Nasdaq 100 after Wolfe Research upgraded the stock to outperform from peer perform with a price target of $150.
Bunge Global SA (BG) closed up more than +2% after saying it is close to receiving a decision from Chinese antitrust authorities on its $8.2 billion purchase of Viterra, nearly two years after the deal was announced.
Monster Beverage (MNST) closed up more than +1% after Stifel resumed coverage on the stock with a recommendation of buy and a price target of $72.
Airline stocks were under pressure Thursday on demand concerns after US inflation news showed airfares in May fell -2.7% m/m, the fourth straight month-over-month decline, the longest skid in nearly a year. As a result, Southwest Airlines (LUV) closed down more than -2%. Also, United Airlines Holdings (UAL) and American Airlines Group (AAL) closed down more than -1%.
GameStop (GME) closed down more than -22% after announcing plans to offer $1.75 billion of convertible senior notes due 2032.
Oxford Industries (OXM) closed down more than -14% after cutting its full-year adjusted EPS forecast to $2.80-$3.20 from a previous forecast of $4.60-$5.00, well below the consensus of $4.50.
Boeing (BA) closed down more than -4% to lead losers in the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrials after a 787 Boeing Dreamliner aircraft operated by Air India crashed shortly after takeoff in Ahmedabad, India.
GE Aerospace (GE) closed down more than -2% after a Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff in Ahmedabad, India. GE makes the GEnx-1B engines that power the 787 Dreamliner.
Omnicon Group (OMC) closed down more than -2% after the New York Times reported the FTC is considering restrictions on Omicon and Interpublic Group to prevent the combined company from refusing to place ads on platforms for political reasons.

Bunge Global SA BG reported first-quarter 2025 adjusted earnings of $1.81 per share, which beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.27 by a margin of 42.5%. The bottom line, however, marked a 40.5% year-over-year plunge due to weak results across its segments.
Including one-time items, the company posted earnings per share of $1.48 compared with $1.68 in the year-ago quarter.

Bunge Global’s Cost & Margin Performances in Q1
The cost of sales was $11 billion, down 12% from the prior-year quarter. Gross profit plunged 32% year over year to $597 million. Selling and administrative expenses were $380 million, down 13% year over year.
Bunge Global reported an operating profit of $328 million, which marked a 24% decline from $433 million in the year-ago quarter.
Adjusted total segment operating profit slumped 46% year over year to $362 million. Total segment operating margin contracted 190 basis points to 3.1% from the first quarter of 2024.
BG’s Segmental Performances in Q1
Agribusiness: The segment’s sales declined 16% year over year to $8.2 billion. Volumes were 18,277 thousand metric tons compared with 20,192 thousand metric tons in the year-ago quarter.
Adjusted operating profit for the segment declined 45% year over year to $268 million due to lower results in both merchandising and processing.
The merchandising business’ adjusted operating profit was $61 million, marking a 19.7% decline from the year-ago quarter as improved performance in global grains and financial services business was more than offset by lower results in ocean freight.
The processing business’ adjusted operating profit plunged 50% year over year to $207 million. Higher results in Brazil, Europe and Asia soy crush value chains were offset by weaker results in North America, Argentina and European softseeds.
Refined & Specialty Oils: The segment’s sales fell 4.6% year over year to $3.1 billion. Volumes were 2,130 thousand metric tons compared with 2,195 thousand metric tons in the year-ago quarter.
The segment reported an adjusted operating profit of $123 million, a 39.7% drop from the year-ago quarter’s $204 million. This was attributed to lower results across all regions, barring Asia.
Milling: The segment’s sales decreased 2% year over year to $375 million. Volumes were up 2.7% year over year to 898 thousand metric tons.
The segment reported an adjusted operating profit of $15 million, marking a 46% decline from the first quarter of 2024. Improved results in North America were offset by lower results in South America.
BG’s Cash & Balance Sheet Updates
Cash flow used in operating activities was $285 million in the first quarter of 2025 against an inflow of $994 million in the prior-year quarter. The decline was due to net changes in working capital. Cash and cash equivalents were $3.25 billion as of the end of the first quarter of 2025 compared with $3.3 billion as of the end of 2024. Archer Daniels Midland Company ADM posted first-quarter 2025 adjusted earnings of 70 cents per share, which surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 69 cents. However, the figure decreased from earnings of $1.46 per share in the year-ago quarter.
Archer Daniels Midland’s revenues fell 7.3% year over year to $20.2 billion and lagged the consensus estimate of $20.7 billion. The top line was hurt by lower revenues across all its segments.
The Andersons ANDE reported earnings of 12 cents per share in the first quarter of 2025, a 25% decline from 16 cents in the year-ago quarter.
Andersons reported a 2% decline in revenues to $2.66 billion.

BG Q1 Earnings Beat, Revenues Down Y/Y on Weak Results Across Segments

The company's bottom line totaled $201 million, or $1.48 per share. This compares with $244 million, or $1.68 per share, last year.
Excluding items, Bunge Global SA reported adjusted earnings of $244 million or $1.81 per share for the period.
Analysts on average had expected the company to earn $1.31 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company's revenue for the period fell 13.2% to $11.643 billion from $13.417 billion last year.

Bunge Global SA Q1 Profit Decreases, But Beats Estimates

Chesterfield, Missouri-based Bunge Global SA (BG) is an integrated global agribusiness and food company. With a market cap of $9.3 billion, Bunge operates through Agribusiness, Refined and Specialty Oils, Milling, and Sugar and Bioenergy segments. The agribusiness major is expected to release its first-quarter earnings before the market opens on Wednesday, Apr. 23.
Ahead of the event, analysts expect Bunge to report a non-GAAP profit of $1.27 per share, down a massive 58.2% from $3.04 per share reported in the year-ago quarter. While the company has surpassed Wall Street’s bottom-line estimates twice over the past four quarters, it missed the projections on two other occasions.

For the full fiscal 2025, Bunge is expected to deliver a non-GAAP EPS of $7.89, down 14.2% from $9.19 in fiscal 2024. While in fiscal 2026, its earnings are expected to rebound 12.2% year-over-year to $8.85 per share.
Bunge’s stock prices have tanked 30.6% over the past 52-week period, significantly underperforming the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund’s (XLP) 6.3% gains and the S&P 500 Index’s ($SPX) 4.7% returns during the same time frame.
Bunge Global’s stock prices plunged 6.9% after the release of its disappointing Q4 results on Feb. 5. Due to a drop in volumes, the company’s net sales dropped 9.3% year-over-year to $13.5 billion. Meanwhile, the company’s adjusted net income plummeted 45.9% year-over-year to $295 million and its adjusted EPS of $2.13 missed the Street expectations by 7.4%. Moreover, the company’s cash flows also took a severe hit. In fiscal 2024, operating cash flows decreased 42.6% compared to the year-ago quarter, totaling $1.9 billion.
Despite its lackluster financial performance, analysts remain optimistic about the stock’s long-term prospects. The consensus view on BG stock is moderately bullish, with an overall “Moderate Buy” rating. Out of the seven analysts covering the stock, four advocate “Strong Buy” while three suggest a “Hold” rating. Its mean price target of $86.50 represents a 16.4% upside potential from current price levels.

What You Need To Know Ahead of Bunge Global's Earnings Release

Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. CALM reported earnings per share of $10.38 in third-quarter fiscal 2025 (ended March 1, 2025). This represents a significant improvement from earnings of $3.00 in the year-ago quarter, driven by robust demand and elevated egg prices.

Egg prices have been high as supply remains constrained due to the recent outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (“HPAI”). Cal-Maine achieved records for a total of dozens sold, reflecting high seasonal demand. Also, severe weather led to buyers stocking up on eggs.
Cal-Maine’s Q3 Top Line Surges on Higher Prices & Eggs Sold
Sales in the third quarter of fiscal 2025 were $1.42 billion, skyrocketing 102% year over year due to increased net average selling price of shell eggs and higher total dozens sold.
Net average selling price (per dozen) was $4.06 in the third quarter of fiscal 2025, marking an 80.7% year-over-year surge. The net average selling price per dozen for conventional eggs soared 121.5% to $4.766 and the same for specialty eggs rose 15% to $2.784 per dozen.
Cal-Maine produced 293 million dozen eggs in the quarter compared with around 260 million in the year-ago quarter. The company sold a record 331.4 million dozen shell eggs in the third quarter of fiscal 2025, 10% higher than the year-ago quarter.
Conventional eggs sold were 213.2 million dozen, up 11% year over year. Specialty egg sales increased 9% to 118 million dozen. Specialty egg sales (in dozens) accounted for 35.7% of total sales in the quarter.
CALM Witnesses Solid Upside in Margins
Farm production costs per dozen were down 5.7% year over year, reflecting favorable commodity pricing for key feed ingredients. Feed costs per dozen moved down 9.6% from the third quarter of fiscal 2024. To meet the increased demand in the quarter, Cal-Maine made external egg purchases at higher prices, incurring increased costs.
The total cost of sales rose 45% year over year to $702 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2025.
Gross profit was around $716 million, a 228% upsurge from the year-ago quarter. The gross margin for the quarter under review was 50.5%, a major expansion from the year-ago quarter’s 31.1%.
Selling, general and administrative expenses were around $80 million compared with the year-ago quarter’s $66 million. Cal-Maine reported an operating profit of $636 million in the quarter under review compared with $163 million in the year-ago quarter. The operating margin was 44.8% in the third quarter of fiscal 2025 compared with 23.2% in the third quarter of fiscal 2024.
Cal-Maine’s Cash Position, Share Repurchase Announcement
CALM ended the third quarter of fiscal 2025 with cash and cash equivalents of $1.24 billion compared with $812 at the end of fiscal 2024.
Cal-Maine’s board of directors approved a $500-million share repurchase program. The company declared a cash dividend of $3.46 per share. The dividend will be paid out on May 15, 2025, to shareholders of record as of April 30, 2025.
The company has a variable dividend policy. Whenever it reports quarterly net income, it allocates one-third of that income as a cash dividend to its shareholders.
HPAI Outbreaks to Act as an Obstacle for CALM Stock
Outbreaks of HPAI continue to occur in U.S. poultry flocks. In 2024, 38.4 million commercial laying hens and 1.8 million pullets had to be depopulated. From the start of this year till March, an additional 32.9 million commercial layer hens and pullets have been depopulated. Per the USDA, table-egg layer flock was approximately 285 million as of March 1, 2025 — the lowest level since September 2015.
In the third and fourth quarters of fiscal 2024, Cal-Maine reported HPAI outbreaks within its facilities in Kansas and Texas, which led to the total depopulation of 3.1 million laying hens and 577,000 pullets. Both locations have been cleared by the USDA as fit to resume operations. CALM continues to implement biosecurity programs across its locations.
Cal-Maine’s Expansion Plans, New Products to Fuel Growth
To capitalize on the solid demand, CALM has made investments to expand operations. It has earmarked $60 million in new capital projects for the expansion of cage-free capacity. This included $40 million in projects announced in October, including the addition of five cage-free layer houses and two pullet houses across the company’s locations in Florida, Georgia, Utah and Texas. These are expected to add production capacity for 1.1 million cage-free layer hens and 250,000 pullets in 2025.
Cal-Maine has converted the assets acquired from Tyson Foods, Inc. TSN in March 2024 for shell egg production. The assets acquired from Tyson were a broiler processing plant, a hatchery and a feed mill in Dexter, MO. These assets are expected to add an additional capacity of 1.2 million free-range hens by the end of the calendar year.
CALM to Acquire Echo Lake Foods
Cal-Maine has entered an agreement to acquire Burlington, WI-based Echo Lake Foods, Inc. for $258 million. Echo Lake Foods produces, packages, markets and distributes ready-to-eat egg products and breakfast foods, including waffles, pancakes, scrambled eggs, frozen cooked omelets, egg patties, toast and diced eggs. The transaction is expected to close by the end of fiscal 2025.
Echo Lake Foods generated $240 million in revenues in 2024. It is expected to be at least mid-single-digit accretive to CALM’s earnings starting in fiscal 2026.
With this move, Cal-Maine Foods will enter the large, growing and highly stable value-added food portion of the egg category. This acquisition supplements CALM’s ready-to-eat egg product offerings from its expanded MeadowCreek Foods operation, and its joint venture with Crepini Foods LLC.

CALM Q3 Earnings & Sales Surge Y/Y on High Egg Prices & Demand

Looking at the sectors faring best as of midday Thursday, shares of Consumer Products companies are outperforming other sectors, losing just 0.3%. Within the sector, Archer Daniels Midland Co. (Symbol: ADM) and Constellation Brands Inc (Symbol: STZ) are two large stocks leading the way, showing a gain of 2.8% and 2.4%, respectively. Among consumer products ETFs, one ETF following the sector is the iShares U.S. Consumer Goods ETF (Symbol: IYK), which is flat on the day on the day, and up 7.27% year-to-date.
