What will earnings bring?
Bloom will report second-quarter financial results after the market closes today. Even after the stock has crashed from the June high, Bloom shares are still up by over 80% this year. Some investors who are getting nervous that the growth story might not pan out as anticipated are locking in the large 2026 gains, it seems.
The Bloom Energy story relies on big tech continuing to increase capital spending to build out data center compute capacity. Much of the stock's gains came after announcements of plans to build and finance power for data centers, with billions of dollars being allocated. In late June, Bloom and Brookfield Asset Management announced an expansion of their strategic data center partnership. The original $5 billion in planned financing was quintupled to $25 billion.
Yet there are still concerns among investors that those plans will fizzle out, leaving Bloom without billions in orders that were already priced into the stock. Don't expect Bloom management to sound pessimistic in its report later today, though. Hyperscalers and AI infrastructure developers are still announcing spending increases. And while Bloom stock got ahead of itself, the recent correction is exactly what investors should want to see.
If Bloom's capacity expansion plans remain intact with order backlogs filling its production lines, now may be a good time to own Bloom stock at a much more reasonable valuation.

Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) has been one of the early leaders in capitalizing on the AI boom. The semiconductor giant is currently the largest company by market cap at over $5 trillion. While Nvidia is still growing briskly, -- its revenue surged 85% in its fiscal 2027 first quarter to $81.6 billion -- it could face headwinds to future growth. It's facing increasing competition, including from its customers, many of whom are developing their own AI chips.
However, I still want exposure to the AI boom without the risks of buying Nvidia at its current level. My pick is Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE). Here's why I prefer it over Nvidia right now.

The Nvidia of data center power
AI chips like those developed by Nvidia require a massive amount of power to run at full capacity and prevent overheating. As a result, data centers need access to large amounts of stable electricity. Power is becoming a huge bottleneck for data center development.
It's a problem that Bloom Energy is solving. The company's advanced fuel cells provide an ultra-reliable, clean, and scalable on-site power solution. Data center developers can quickly deploy Bloom's fuel cells, enabling them to build out AI infrastructure more rapidly.
Bloom Energy is quickly becoming as vital to AI as Nvidia's chips. Last year, it collaborated with Oracle (NYSE: ORCL) to deliver onsite power to its data centers within 90 days. The initial deployment was so successful (just 55 days to deploy) that Oracle expanded its strategic partnership with Bloom Energy to deploy up to 2.8 gigawatts (GW) of its fuel cells earlier this year to accelerate its AI infrastructure build-out.
The company also formed a strategic partnership with leading global alternative investment manager Brookfield Asset Management (NYSE: BAM) last year. Brookfield initially planned to invest up to $5 billion in deploying Bloom's advanced fuel cell technology at AI factories. That investment helped seed the inaugural Brookfield AI Infrastructure Fund, which features Nvidia as a cornerstone investor and aims to invest up to $100 billion in acquiring AI Infrastructure. Brookfield recently expanded that partnership fivefold to $25 billion. It's part of Brookfield's strategy to advance a new model for data centers that integrates power, compute, data center infrastructure, and capital.
Only scratching the surface of the opportunity
Foundational models and generative AI will drive powerful electricity demand in the coming decade. Forecasters anticipate that AI data centers in the U.S. alone could surpass 100 GW by 2035. That's a massive opportunity for Bloom, especially as more companies turn to on-site solutions to power their data centers. In its recently published annual Data Center Power Report, Bloom found that 61% of developers plan to bring their own power if the grid can't meet their needs.
While Bloom isn't the only fuel cell maker vying for the data center market, no other company can match its scale and financial resources. Many of its peers are still losing money. Bloom Energy, on the other hand, is increasingly profitable. Its revenue rocketed 130% in the first quarter to $751.1 million, while its operating income jumped $91.2 million to $72.2 million. The company is also generating positive operating cash flow ($73.6 million in the first quarter). That's giving it the funds to reinvest in expanding its capacity. It also has the backing of Brookfield's $25 billion strategic partnership.
Not quite as expensive
Surging demand for Bloom's fuel cells has catapulted its stock, which has skyrocketed nearly 750% in the past year. While I missed that rally, I still think Bloom has plenty of room to continue growing shareholder value. Its stock price has cooled off a bit from the peak (down more than 35%), giving it a slightly more reasonable valuation of around 16 times forward sales at its current $62 billion market cap. Given its recently expanded strategic partnerships, I expect Bloom's revenue to continue growing briskly in the coming years. Even though I'd prefer to buy Bloom even lower, I also don't want to miss out on its high-powered growth potential. That's why I plan to buy some shares in the very near future and add if it gets cheaper.

Bloom Energy is solving the AI power crunch
Things really ignited in mid-April for Bloom Energy when tech giant Oracle expanded its partnership, signing a master services agreement to procure up to 2.8 gigawatts (GW) of Bloom Energy's fuel cell systems for its aggressive AI infrastructure buildout.
Guess how it all started? Bloom Energy had deployed a fuel-cell system for Oracle in 2025, but it did that in just 55 days, more than a month ahead of schedule.
That 55-day proof-of-concept was a game-changer. It proved that hyperscalers are increasingly recognizing the viability of fuel cells as a gigawatt-scale solution for powering next-generation AI infrastructure.
Traditional utility grids simply weren't built for AI loads. Expanding and building high-voltage transmission lines can take years, and hyperscalers can't wait that long to turn on their software and chips. Bloom Energy's solid-oxide fuel cell systems, which can convert hydrogen, natural gas, and biogas into electricity without combustion, can be deployed "behind-the-meter" directly on data center sites within months.
All of that massive demand is already showing up in Bloom Energy's numbers.
Blowout numbers, massive contract wins
The company delivered a blowout first quarter in April, with revenue surging 130% year over year and operating profit swinging from a $19 million loss to a $72 million profit. Bloom posted a solid 30% gross margin in Q1.
Product revenue alone soared 208% to a record $653 million during the quarter as Bloom rapidly converted its backlog into cash flows. Management raised full-year revenue growth guidance from around 60% to around 80% at the midpoint, dismissing AI slowdown fears.
On June 30, Bloom Energy dropped another bomb that stunned the markets. It expanded its $5 billion partnership with Brookfield Asset Management to a whopping $25 billion.
For Bloom Energy, this is about as good as it gets. It gives them a huge runway of demand that stretches out for years. And, it proves that the players in finance believe off-grid, on-site power is the real answer to the grid crisis and are betting big on that.
Should you buy Bloom Energy stock before July 2028?
Bloom Energy is sitting right at the intersection of a severe AI power shortage and a utility grid that doesn't have the capacity or the ability to upgrade fast enough to fix it.
Earlier in the year, Bloom Energy reported a $20 billion backlog as of the end of 2025. Between its high margins, massive backlog, and contract flows, the long-term story looks stronger than ever.
What could be the next big trigger for the stock? July 28, when Bloom Energy will report its second-quarter numbers. Last quarter, management projected full-year revenue growth of 80% at the midpoint. Another backlog and profit surge in Q2, and Bloom Energy stock could fly even higher.

Why Bloom Energy Stock Soared 248% in the First Half of 2026

Healthpeak Properties, Inc. DOC and Brookfield Asset Management Ltd. BAM have formed a long-term strategic capital partnership through a joint venture involving a portfolio of outpatient medical buildings across the United States. DOC contributed 86 properties totaling about 5.6 million square feet, with the portfolio valued at roughly $2.1 billion.
The properties are spread across 11 states, including Kentucky, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey and New York. The portfolio is 95% leased and has a weighted average remaining lease term of six years, giving the joint venture a stable base of rental income.
Brookfield and its affiliates acquired a 49% non-controlling stake in the venture, while Healthpeak retained a 51% controlling interest. Healthpeak will remain the managing member and continue to handle asset management, leasing and property management. The company received about $1.025 billion in gross proceeds from the sale of 49% stake, which reflects a trailing cash capitalization rate of about 5.9% and a valuation of roughly $380 per square foot.
Healthpeak will also have the right, for a limited period starting after year seven, to buy back Brookfield’s interest at a price designed to provide BAM with a 6.5% net annual rate of return, excluding initial transaction costs.
The deal gives Healthpeak access to long-term capital while allowing it to keep control of the properties and benefit from future value growth. The joint venture is expected to remain consolidated in Healthpeak’s financial statements, with Brookfield’s stake recorded as a non-controlling equity interest.
Conclusion
Healthpeak is raising substantial cash without giving up control of a well-leased portfolio. The structure could fund debt reduction, share repurchases or investments in faster-growing areas while giving Brookfield access to durable healthcare real estate.

Can AmEx Beat Q2 Earnings on Higher Network Volumes & Interest Income?

(RTTNews) - Healthpeak Properties, Inc. (DOC) and Brookfield Asset Management (BAM, BAM.TO) announced on Monday that they have formed a $2.5 billion long-term strategic capital partnership through a joint venture involving a portfolio of outpatient medical buildings across the U.S.
Healthpeak contribution is comprised of 86 properties totaling around 5.6 million square feet of around $2.1 billion.
In the JV, Healthpeak will have a controlling interest of 51 percent, while Brookfield will hold 49 percent. Healthpeak received gross proceeds of around $1.025 billion from the sale of 49% interest to Brookfield with a valuation of around $380 per square foot.
Healthpeak will provide asset management, leasing, property management services, and others. Further, it will retain a call right for a finite period beginning after year seven to repurchase Brookfield's interest at a price sufficient to provide Brookfield with a 6.5% net annual rate of return.
The portfolio is diversified across 11 states and is 95% leased with a weighted average remaining lease term of six years.

The new venture is expected to be consolidated on Healthpeak's financial statements, with Brookfield's investment as a non-controlling equity interest.

Healthpeak Properties Sells 49% Of Property Portfolio To Form $2.5 Bln Joint Venture With Brookfield

(RTTNews) - Brookfield Asset Management Ltd (BAM) and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) have agreed to acquire LXP Industrial Trust in an all-cash deal valued at about $5.20 billion, including debt and preferred equity, the companies said Monday.
Under the terms of the agreement, LXP shareholders will receive $61.20 per share, a 12.3% premium to the company's 30-day volume-weighted average share price through July 17, 2026.
Upon completion of the deal, LXP's shares will cease trading on the New York Stock Exchange and the company will become privately held.
LXP owns a portfolio of approximately 53 million square feet of warehouse and logistics facilities across 108 properties in key U.S. industrial markets, primarily in the Sunbelt and Midwest. The portfolio is characterized by strong occupancy, long-term leases and stable cash flows.
"The LXP Board unanimously determined that this transaction with Brookfield and CPP Investments fully maximizes value for our shareholders," said Thomas W. Eglin, Jr., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of LXP.
"The acquisition aligns with our strategy of investing in high-quality real estate with durable cash flows and opportunities to create value through active asset management," said Lowell Baron, Chief Executive Officer of Brookfield Real Estate.
" The industrial sector, particularly in the U.S., continues to offer attractive long-term investment opportunities, supported by structural demand drivers including domestic manufacturing, evolving global supply chains and population growth across key Sunbelt markets," said Sophie van Oosterom, Managing Director, Head of Real Estate at CPP Investments.
The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The agreement includes a 40-day go-shop period ending August 28, 2026, during which LXP may solicit and evaluate alternative acquisition proposals. The company may terminate the agreement to accept a superior offer, subject to certain conditions and the payment of a termination fee.
LXP has also agreed to suspend dividends until the transaction closes or the merger agreement is terminated. The company said it plans to release its second-quarter results as scheduled on July 29.
In pre-market trading, LXP shares rose more than 4% after closing at $58.51 on Friday, while Brookfield shares slipped 0.27% from their previous close of $48.33.

Bloom Energy
Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE) is a leading developer of advanced fuel cells. The company's technology is rapidly becoming the go-to choice for powering data centers. Data center developers can't get enough of its fuel cells. Global investment firm Brookfield Asset Management recently expanded its AI infrastructure partnership with Bloom Energy to $25 billion, a five-fold increase from its initial $5 billion partnership last October. That follows a similar expansion by cloud giant Oracle, which will now deploy up to 2.8 gigawatts of Bloom's fuel cells at its data centers to accelerate its AI infrastructure build-out.
These and other deals are powering robust growth for Bloom Energy. Its revenue surged more than 130% in the first quarter to over $750 million, along with a significant improvement in profit (operating income increased $91.3 million to $72.2 million). Bloom now expects to deliver 80% revenue growth this year, up from its prior guidance of 60%. It should continue growing rapidly as more companies deploy its on-site power solutions. Despite robust growth, Bloom Energy shares are currently 40% below their recent high, making its valuation much more attractive.
Brookfield Renewable
Brookfield Renewable (NYSE: BEPC)(NYSE: BEP) is a leading global renewable energy platform. It operates hydro, wind, solar, and storage assets secured by long-term contracts with inflation escalators. That enables it to generate stable, growing cash flow to support its more than 4.5% yielding dividend.
The company expects to deploy $9 billion to $10 billion of capital over the next five years to grow its global platform. It plans to invest around $850 million per year to develop additional renewable energy assets, with the remaining funds allocated to acquisitions. These investments, along with rising power prices, should drive annual growth in funds from operations per share of more than 10%. That should support continued dividend growth of 5% to 9% per year. With its share price down nearly 25%, Brookfield has high-powered total return potential.
Energy Transfer
Energy Transfer (NYSE: ET) is a master limited partnership (MLP), an entity that sends a Schedule K-1 Federal tax form each year. It's one of the country's largest energy infrastructure operators, with assets spanning pipelines, processing plants, storage terminals, and export facilities.
The MLP is investing heavily to capitalize on the growth of gas power demand. It's building several pipeline laterals to supply gas directly to data centers (including Oracle's) and new gas-fired power plants. Additionally, it's building several new large-scale gas pipelines to increase gas flow across the country, including the $2.7 billion Hugh Brinson Pipeline and the $5.6 billion Desert Southwest Pipeline expansion. These and other projects should fuel its growth through the end of the decade. That will give the MLP more cash to grow its high-yielding distribution (nearly 7% yield), which it aims to increase by 3% to 5% per year. Energy Transfer's combination of income and growth should drive strong total returns for investors in the coming years.
High-octane return potential
The world will need a lot more energy in the coming years to support AI and other demand catalysts. That should drive robust growth for Bloom Energy, Brookfield Renewable, and Energy Transfer. It's why I plan to invest $1,000 into the trio in the coming month.

The second-quarter earnings estimate has witnessed no upward revision and three downward movements over the past 30 days. The bottom-line projection indicates a year-over-year decrease of 19.2%. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for quarterly revenues implies year-over-year growth of 3.4%.
For full-year 2026, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for Synchrony’s revenues is pegged at $19.12 billion, implying an increase of 3.6% year over year. However, the consensus mark for the current year EPS is pegged at $9.34, signaling a decline of around 0.9% on a year-over-year basis.

The consensus mark for the net charge-offs ratio is pegged at 5.61, down from 5.70 a year ago. The above-mentioned factors are likely to have benefited the company in the second quarter, positioning it for an earnings beat.
