Bloom's second-quarter 2026 revenue reached $1.065 billion, a 166% jump from last year. Gross margin exceeded 34%, and the company's product revenue climbed 215% as orders continued to come in. Bloom's backlog is now approaching $20 billion. Deals and partnerships with AI darlings Oracle, Brookfield Asset Management, and Nebius Group led management to raise its full-year revenue guidance once again to $3.4 billion to $3.8 billion.
Of course, the excitement has led to an incredible run for the stock, which has risen approximately 225% year to date. This means Bloom is trading at an incredible premium and is priced for perfection. Any delays or problems in execution, or a slowdown in demand, could spell trouble for shareholders.
FuelCell Energy could be next
FuelCell Energy is a far different story than Bloom. Unfortunately, the company's fiscal third-quarter results showed a 29% decline in revenue, while its gross loss widened to $24.5 million. This was all largely due to the completion of deliveries in South Korea. Shares fell precipitously on the earnings news.
There's hope for FuelCell, though. The company received its first order for data center applications, and the total backlog grew to $3.6 billion. A stock sale helped raise an additional $300 million for FuelCell, bringing the company's cash position to over $737 million. The Connecticut-based business is looking to expand its manufacturing capacity to 500 megawatts by 2028. Management anticipates positive adjusted EBITDA by the end of fiscal 2027.
The winner depends on the investor
Bloom is the winner of this battle today. The company is financially strong: It is profitable, generates substantial cash, and is a proven entity among AI hyperscalers. There's still room for growth with Bloom, but investors will need to pay a premium for it.
FuelCell, on the other hand, is a much more speculative play, but offers investors a far less expensive entry point. There's a lot of execution risk with FuelCell, but if the company can continue to collect orders for the backlog while meeting stated milestones, the upside potential looks massive. Current investors have been waiting years for the company's turnaround to finally take hold, and it looks as if they'll be waiting a bit longer.

Why will the Power Connect systems boost Bloom's sales?
Bloom's SOFCs can convert natural gas, biogas, propane, and hydrogen into electricity without any combustion. Its systems can also be deployed on-site in less than three months and bypass traditional electrical grids, which can require years to set up new connections.
Those advantages make SOFC systems a popular choice for data centers seeking to quickly expand their cloud and AI infrastructure while maintaining a smaller carbon footprint. Oracle, CoreWeave, Nebius, Equinix, and other data center giants already use its SOFC systems. Brookfield Asset Management (NYSE: BAM), one of the world's largest asset managers, funds Bloom's development and deployment of those SOFC systems via a $25 billion partnership.
Bloom's new Power Connect systems shift the complex wiring and integration work from the field into its own factories. By pre-wiring, pre-connecting, and fully testing those systems before they're delivered, Bloom minimizes the need for local on-site electricians and accelerates system deployments. By reducing its installation times to just one to two months, Bloom will reinforce its early mover advantage and widen its moat against potential challengers.
Bloom isn't the only SOFC maker, but it dominates the market for stationary, multi-megawatt, and utility-scale deployments. The AI market's expansion will generate strong tailwinds for that business as more data centers deploy Bloom's SOFC systems to meet their energy needs.

The AI boom has created an electricity problem
Building an AI data center isn't just about buying thousands of powerful chips. Those chips consume enormous amounts of electricity. A hyperscale data center can require hundreds of megawatts of power, and developers increasingly face a frustrating problem: The grid can't always deliver that power quickly enough.
Imagine a technology company spends billions of dollars on land, buildings, servers, and GPUs. The facility is ready to go. Then the utility says: "Come back in a few years. We'll have the electricity by then."
That's not a minor inconvenience. For an AI company racing to deploy computing capacity, waiting years can mean leaving billions of dollars of equipment sitting idle.
This has created a new bottleneck in the data center industry: time to power.
Bloom's business model is surprisingly simple
For starters, it's important to know that Bloom sells power-generating equipment.
Its flagship product, the Bloom Energy Server, uses solid oxide fuel cells -- electrochemical devices -- to convert fuel into electricity. Instead of generating electricity at a distant power plant and sending it through the grid, Bloom can generate electricity at or near the facility that needs it.
Traditionally, electricity generated in power plants must travel through long transmission lines and the grid before reaching data centers. Using Bloom Energy Servers, data centers can generate their own electricity on-site. That distinction matters enormously when electricity is scarce.
While Bloom Energy is not the only company providing on-site electricity generation system -- there are other solutions like gas turbines -- it offers enormously shorter time to deploy. Management estimates that Bloom can ship 3.25 MW worth of fuel cells every 1-2 days, meaning a 1 GW data center can have its power need installed in less than a year. By comparison, several natural gas turbine manufacturers have order books filled out to 2030 and beyond.
To be fair, Bloom doesn't replace the grid. It simply gives customers another way to get power while they wait for the grid to catch up. And so far, customers seem to like the solution.
In the second quarter of 2026, Bloom generated a record $1.1 billion in revenue, up 166% from a year earlier. Product revenue jumped 215%, while the company swung from an operating loss to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) operating income of $182 million. Bloom also raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $3.9 billion to $4.2 billion, implying roughly 100% growth at the midpoint.
Winning big customers and partnerships
Another reason for investors to get excited is that Bloom Energy has secured major wins in recent quarters.
Take its collaboration with Oracle. Bloom Energy will deliver solutions to some of Oracle's data centers, targeting on-site power for an entire data center within 90 days. This provides Oracle with reliable, clean, and cost-efficient power that supports its growth strategy with certainty.
And then there's Brookfield. The asset manager has expanded its financing framework for Bloom-related AI power deployments from $5 billion to $25 billion, helping data center owners to fund their on-site power requirements.
These partnerships lend enormous credibility to Bloom Energy's products and solutions, positioning the company well to scale its business in the years to come.
But there's a catch
Investors shouldn't confuse a huge opportunity with a guaranteed winner.
Bloom still needs to prove that its extraordinary growth can continue. The company must scale manufacturing without sacrificing margins or reliability. On the demand side, customers need to keep placing large orders, even as competitors improve their own technologies.
Moreover, Bloom faces an important question: How much of today's demand represents a temporary response to the AI power crunch, and how much becomes a durable new market?
That's what will determine whether Bloom becomes a long-term growth stock or just a spectacular short-term growth story.
What does it mean for investors?
Bloom Energy spent years trying to convince investors that its fuel cell technology could matter. AI has given the company that opportunity.
The idea here is simple: The grid can't provide electricity fast enough to build AI infrastructure, and customers will come knocking on its door for fast, reliable on-site power systems.
That's why a company once known mainly for fuel cells and hydrogen has suddenly become one of the most interesting stocks in the AI infrastructure race.

Bloom Energy addresses a major bottleneck hyperscalers are facing
The AI data center build-out has revealed power as a major bottleneck for hyperscalers. For one, securing a transmission connection to a regional power grid can take four to seven years. Regional transmission operators face enormous backlogs and severe supply shortages of high-voltage power transformers and other vital infrastructure.
On top of this, local communities and public utilities are facing pushback from residents on data center construction. Residential customers don't want to bear the costs of the capital expenditures required to expand the power grid just to connect new data centers. As a result, hyperscalers are seeking independent, off-the-grid power alternatives like Bloom Energy's solid-oxide fuel cells.
Bloom's fuel cells run on natural gas but can also run on biogas or hydrogen using an electrochemical reaction rather than combustion. Its biggest competitive advantage is that its fuel cells are factory-fabricated and can be installed on-site in three to four months, helping hyperscalers get their data centers up and running significantly faster since they don't have to wait to connect to the electric grid.
The company's fuel cells have been validated by hyperscalers and neocloud customers. Notably, in 2024, Bloom Energy delivered its fuel cell power system for an Oracle cloud infrastructure AI data center in just 55 days.
In its second-quarterearnings call Chief Executive Officer K.R. Sridhar noted that "over a dozen U.S. neoclouds, AI labs and colocation data center operators have validated and approved our power solutions."
Bloom's earnings have boomed, and demand is only increasing
In the second quarter, the company's revenue exceeded $1 billion for the first time. The company is experiencing accelerating data center deliveries, and as a result, management raised its full-year revenue projection to a range of $3.9 billion to $4.2 billion (a 100% increase year over year at the midpoint) and full-year non-GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) operating income to a range of $800 million to $900 million.
Bloom's growth isn't slowing down, either. On June 30, Brookfield Asset Management expanded its strategic partnership with Bloom Energy. It increased its initial project financing framework from $5 billion to $25 billion, a stunning fivefold increase.
On July 20, Industrial Development Funding partnered with Oaktree, MUFG, and Morgan Stanley to announce a $1.7 billion project investment to support the deployment of Bloom's fuel cells to power Nebius' AI infrastructure build-out.
Is Bloom Energy stock a buy?
Bloom Energy recently introduced Power Connect, which reduces on-site power installation time by more than 40%. This builds on Bloom's speed-to-power advantage by moving complex electrical integration from the field to the factory floor.
Looking ahead, analysts covering Bloom Energy project its earnings per share (EPS) to rise to $2.67, a 251% increase from 2025's EPS of $0.76. Bloom Energy trades at about 94 times projected earnings for this year. But that valuation also assumes its staggering growth will continue, with analysts projecting 84% annual EPS growth in 2027 and another 60% in 2028.
Bloom Energy stock has surged in recent years and remains well-positioned to continue gaining in the years ahead. As long as hyperscalers continue to invest so much in building data centers, Bloom Energy should continue to ride these powerful tailwinds higher.

I Love Bloom Energy for 1 Reason, and It's Not the Backlog

The how and why
Your retirement savings account's exposure to privately held businesses will still be relatively limited, for the record. Initially, only target-date mutual funds overseen by Great Gray Trust will hold stakes in these enterprises, and even then, only 5% to 20% of these funds' capital will be allocated to private investments. And investors will only be able to access this narrow selection of target-date funds if their 401(k) plan's sponsor and administrator agree that adding this option is in employees' best interest.
It shouldn't be terribly difficult to sell this idea to sponsors and administrators, however. BlackRock (which manages the iShares family of exchange-traded funds) notes that, on average, privately owned ventures return about 50 more basis points annually than stocks. Over the course of 40 years, that would make 401(k) account balances about 15% bigger than they'd otherwise be using nothing but conventional stock-based funds.
Demand is growing
Although this launch will be one of the first of its kind for 401(k) plans, access to private enterprises through publicly traded instruments is not unheard of. Business development companies like Main Street Capital (NYSE: MAIN) are a form of private equity and private credit, while Brookfield Asset Management's (NYSE: BAM) Brookfield Renewable Partners (NYSE: BEP) (NYSE: BEPC) offers its shareholders exposure to a basket of energy-related ventures that aren't accessible any other way. Hedge fund manager Bill Ackman is also planning a new venture fund that will offer ordinary, non-institutional investors access to companies that have not yet gone public, but eventually will.
Still, these options remain relatively rare.
That's clearly changing, though. Perhaps finally prompted by the recent initial public offering of Space Exploration Technologies -- you know it better as SpaceX -- which has made its earliest insiders considerably wealthier than its post-IPO investors, more people are clamoring for alternatives capable of delivering better returns. BlackRock's and Great Gray's offering will certainly bring that prospect to the table.
That said, it would also be naïve to ignore the fact that the stock market as a whole has become uncomfortably unbalanced. The S&P 500's 10 biggest companies collectively account for nearly 40% of its value, while nearly as much of the index's value is held by technology stocks. If only for the sake of better diversification, access to alternative investments (private or otherwise) have their obvious appeal.
Look for more of the same
Only time will tell how quickly BlackRock's concept becomes a common option for 401(k) plans. Don't be surprised to see measurable interest, though. In this same vein, don't be surprised to see other outfits introduce similar private investment offerings now that BlackRock is pushing the boundaries of the premise.

BlackRock Wants 5% to 20% of Your Target-Date Fund in Private Assets

Nvidia NVDA) stock has surged more than 7% on Thursday after the AI chip giant delivered another blockbuster quarterly report yesterday evening and, more importantly, gave Wall Street considerably more confidence that its extraordinary growth can extend well into next year.
Ahead of the report, several key questions surrounded Nvidia's Q2 results: whether its Vera Rubin platform was ramping on schedule, if gross margins could remain near 75%, and how much of the massive AI infrastructure buildout Nvidia would ultimately have to finance itself.
The answers were mostly encouraging, although investors still have a few risks to weigh before chasing today's rally.
Nvidia Crushes Q2 Expectations and Raises the Growth Bar
Nvidia posted Q2 revenue for its current fiscal 2027 of $96.22 billion, soaring 106% from $46.74 billion in the prior year quarter and comfortably topping estimates of $91.79 billion.
Adjusted net income came in at $53.95 billion, or earnings of $2.22 per share, up 120% year over year and beating Q2 EPS expectations of $2.09 by 6%. Data Center sales were the standout once again, jumping 117% to a record $89 billion.
Even more impressive was Nvidia’s outlook. The chip giant expects Q3 revenue of $108 billion, plus or minus 2%, with no Data Center compute sales from China included in that forecast.
Management also offered a preliminary expectation for roughly 70% revenue growth in fiscal 2028, despite anticipating that supply will remain constrained through the end of that reporting year.
That longer-term outlook arguably provided the biggest catalyst for today's rally, as Wall Street had been bracing for a much steeper slowdown in Nvidia's growth rate.
To that point, its Q3 revenue forecast came in above analyst consensus estimates of $102 billion (Current Qtr below), while the FY28 preliminary revenue forecast is well ahead of Zacks current projections of $553.24 billion or 42% growth.
Vera Rubin Is Becoming Nvidia's Next Growth Engine
The Vera Rubin ramp also provided the confirmation investors were looking for.
Production shipments began earlier this month, and Nvidia says it has already received purchase orders from every major hyperscaler, AI cloud provider, and system original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
Management expects Vera Rubin to account for roughly 20% of Data Center revenue in Q3 and believes it could become the fastest product ramp in Nvidia's history.
This suggests Nvidia is transitioning from its Blackwell platform to its next-generation AI architecture without the growth pause investors might normally expect during a major product cycle.
Gross Margins Are the Biggest Near-Term Blemish
Profitability remains exceptional, but this was one area where the report was less reassuring.
Nvidia maintained a 75% gross margin in Q2, but management expects it to slip to roughly 74% in Q3 and bottom between 71% and 72% in Q4 as surging memory prices increase system costs. Nvidia expects margins to settle around 72%-73% in FY28, with planned price increases beginning to provide some relief early next year.
Considering Nvidia's staggering revenue growth, these margins remain enviable. Still, investors should no longer assume that mid-70% gross margins are guaranteed as increasingly complex AI systems push component costs higher.

Is Nvidia Shifting the AI Financing Burden?
Nvidia's balance sheet remains formidable. The company finished Q2 with roughly $99 billion in cash and marketable debt and equity securities, while generating $24.1 billion in operating cash flow during the quarter.
However, Nvidia is deploying significant amounts of capital across its ecosystem. Non-marketable securities rose to more than $51 billion from $22 billion at the beginning of the fiscal year, while the company purchased $15.8 billion of equity securities during Q2 alone. Its supply and capacity commitments also surged from $119 billion last quarter to roughly $279 billion as Nvidia locks down memory and manufacturing capacity for future demand.
That said, Nvidia appears to be finding ways to bring much deeper pockets into the AI buildout. Its partnerships with major investment firms Apollo Global Management APO), BlackRock BLK), Blackstone BX), Brookfield Asset Management BAM), Goldman Sachs GS) and KKR KKR) are intended to mobilize more than $500 billion of third-party capital for AI infrastructure, creating independent pools of financing for Nvidia customers.
That could gradually shift more of the burden away from Nvidia's own balance sheet, although investors should continue monitoring its guarantees, strategic investments, and other commitments as the AI spending boom grows larger.
Monitoring Nvidia’s Valuation
Despite today's rally, Nvidia stock is still trading at just under 24X forward earnings following its impressive Q2 EPS beat.
Furthermore, upward earnings estimate revisions after such a strong report and outlook could quickly make Nvidia’s valuation even more appealing. Notably, NVDA is trading near its decade-low forward P/E of 20X and at a nearly 50% discount to its 10-year median of 45X.

Bottom Line: Should Investors Chase the NVDA Rally?
There is considerably more to like about Nvidia following Q2 earnings. The company crushed expectations, issued strong Q3 guidance, provided surprisingly bullish FY28 commentary, and offered concrete evidence that Vera Rubin is already becoming its next major revenue engine.
Margin pressure and Nvidia's enormous financial commitments prevent the story from being completely risk-free, and investors don't necessarily have to chase a 7% one-day spike. Still, the rally appears fundamentally supported rather than simply driven by post-earnings enthusiasm.
Most importantly, NVDA now sports a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy), reflecting a favorable earnings-estimate revision outlook.
For long-term investors, Nvidia's valuation still looks surprisingly reasonable relative to its growth trajectory, making pullbacks particularly attractive and today's post-earnings rally difficult to bet against.

After watching Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE) from afar for a while, I finally added the stock to my portfolio. I had been waiting for a pullback. While that happened a while ago, I couldn't buy shares due to trading restrictions. With those restraints recently lifting, I pounced on the opportunity to add the top hydrogen stock to my portfolio.
Here's why I'm thrilled to own a piece of this critical power solutions provider.

Here's what took me so long
I completely missed the run-up in Bloom Energy stock over the past few years. Admittedly, I thought the company was more hype than substance. As I began to realize my mistake, I didn't want to buy into the momentum that had sent its valuation to an absurd level. At its peak earlier this year, Bloom Energy traded at more than 30 times revenue.
However, the stock has cooled off a little bit from its red-hot run. It's currently down about 40% from its 52-week high. As a result, it now trades at a slightly less absurd valuation at 14.5 times forward sales and 75 times forward earnings. That's still very rich, but not completely unreasonable for a company that expects to grow its revenue by 100% this year and generate real, growing profitability.
I wanted to buy shares during the recent sell-off in AI stocks. However, I couldn't due to trading restrictions. Due to our disclosure rules, I can't buy a stock I recently wrote about. I'm also part of a project that has restricted participants from buying shares. With both restrictions recently lifted, I was finally able to buy the stock.
Why this likely won't be my only purchase
Bloom Energy's advanced fuel cells have gone from a promising technology to a critical solution over the past year. Two partnerships highlight this shift.
In July 2025, Bloom Energy announced a collaboration with Oracle (NYSE: ORCL) to deliver power to its data centers at the speed required for AI. The collaboration aimed to deliver on-site power to Oracle's AI data centers within 90 days. Bloom Energy delivered its first fully operational fuel cell system to Oracle in just 55 days. That led the cloud giant to expand the strategic partnership in April to deploy up to 2.8 gigawatts to accelerate AI infrastructure build-out.
Bloom Energy also announced a $5 billion AI infrastructure partnership with Brookfield Asset Management (NYSE: BAM) last October. The partnership marked Brookfield's first investment through its dedicated AI infrastructure strategy, with Bloom becoming its preferred partner for on-site power solutions at its global AI factories (specialized AI data centers). Brookfield has since expanded that partnership fivefold to $25 billion to build and finance rapid power infrastructure for AI.
Given the rapidly expanding demand for its fuel cells, I expect to continue adding to my Bloom Energy position. I'd pounce if there were another 20% sell-off in the stock, assuming no fundamental shift in the thesis. There are certainly downside catalysts, including permitting issues for data center developments linked to Bloom Energy's fuel cells.
I'm finally building a position in Bloom Energy
I've had my eye on Bloom Energy for a while now, and finally added it to my portfolio. Even though I had to wait a little longer due to trading restrictions, I still like my entry point. I'd love an opportunity to add to my position if the stock sells off again, given my high conviction in its future growth.

I Finally Bought Bloom Energy. Here's What Took Me So Long.

Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE) and Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) are both great plays on the AI boom. Bloom develops solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs), which can convert natural gas, propane, biogas, and hydrogen into electricity without any combustion. A growing number of big tech companies and hyperscalers are using its SOFC systems, which can be deployed in just a few months in off-grid locations, to support the expansion of their cloud and AI infrastructure.
Nvidia is the world's largest producer of data center GPUs, which are used to train AI algorithms. Most of the top cloud and AI companies use Nvidia's GPUs, and Nvidia locks them in with its proprietary software and services. That's why Nvidia is often considered the linchpin and bellwether of the growing AI market. Both of these stocks still have plenty of upside potential. But if I had to choose one over the other, I'd buy Bloom for three simple reasons.

1. It dominates its niche market
Bloom isn't the only producer of SOFCs, but it's the top provider of stationary, multi-megawatt, utility-scale SOFC deployments. Its major customers include Oracle, CoreWeave, Nebius, and Equinix. Bloom is also firmly backed by Brookfield Asset Management (NYSE: BAM), which funds its AI infrastructure projects through a strategic partnership. In late June, Bloom and Brookfield expanded the scale of that partnership from $5 billion to $25 billion.
2. It has a wider moat
Bloom arguably has a wider moat than Nvidia because it doesn't face many direct competitors. Nvidia remains the dominant producer of AI accelerators for data centers, but it faces intense competition from AMD's lower-cost GPUs, Broadcom's custom AI chips, and innovative challengers like Cerebras. All of those competitors will likely reduce Nvidia's overall share of the data center market and eventually limit its long-term growth.
3. It has stronger growth rates
From 2025 to 2028, analysts expect Bloom's revenue and adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) to grow at CAGRs of 70% and 120%, respectively. From fiscal 2026 (which ended this January) to fiscal 2029, they expect Nvidia's revenue and adjusted EBITDA to grow at CAGRs of 48% and 52%, respectively.
Bloom's stock isn't cheap at 36 times next year's adjusted EBITDA, but its massive backlog -- which swelled to $20 billion at the end of 2025 -- could justify that higher valuation. Nvidia seems like a bargain at 12 times next year's adjusted EBITDA, but its growth is gradually cooling -- and it could struggle to match Wall Street's bullish estimates. That's why I wouldn't be surprised if Bloom outperforms the top AI chipmaker and attracts more attention over the next few years.

Uranium Energy’s cleaner, cheaper extraction methods are becoming more popular.
Uranium's price has always been pegged to the nuclear energy market. That's why many uranium stocks crumbled in the decade after the Fukushima disaster in 2011, which drove many countries to throttle the expansion of their nuclear programs.
From June 2007 to Nov. 2016, uranium's spot price plummeted from its peak of $136 per pound to a 12-year low of $18 per pound. That decline forced many uranium miners and companies to downsize their operations to stay solvent.

But by the end of this July, uranium's spot price had risen back to $86.38 per pound. The rapid growth of the power-hungry cloud and AI markets, new decarbonization initiatives, and the adoption of safer nuclear technologies drove that recovery. If you want to profit from that trend, you should buy Cameco (NYSE: CCJ) and Uranium Energy (NYSEMKT: UEC).
Why will Cameco and Uranium Energy keep growing?
Cameco, a Canadian company, mined 15% of the world's uranium in 2025. It's the second-largest uranium miner after Kazakhstan's Kazatomprom (OTC:NATK.Y), and operates uranium mines and mills in Canada, the U.S., and Kazakhstan.
Cameco also partnered with Brookfield Asset Management (NYSE: BAM) to acquire Westinghouse Electric, one of the world's largest nuclear technology companies, in 2023. That takeover reduced Cameco's direct exposure to volatile uranium prices and made it a more diversified play on the nuclear energy infrastructure market.
Uranium Energy is a smaller Texas-based miner that pumps an oxygen-enriched solution into the earth to dissolve and extract uranium as a cheaper, greener alternative to underground and open-pit mining. It primarily operates in the U.S., Canada, and Paraguay.
Unlike Cameco, which locks its customers into long-term, fixed-price contracts as a hedge against uranium's volatile price swings, Uranium Energy sells its output entirely at prevailing spot prices. The bold strategy enables Uranium Energy to benefit more from soaring uranium prices than Cameco, but it also causes it greater pain when uranium prices decline.
Why are both stocks still worth buying?
Bank of America expects uranium's spot price to rise to $130 per pound in 2027 as the nuclear supercycle heats up. The AI market's expansion, production bottlenecks, and the U.S. ban on Russian uranium could all drive that acceleration.
Cameco and Uranium Energy aren't cheap at 16 times and 52 times next year's sales, respectively. But if you expect uranium's spot price to soar and set new record highs over the next few years, it might be smart to buy these two best-in-breed uranium stocks today.
