It's investing heavily to build a leading end-to-end green hydrogen ecosystem.
While Plug Power has great promise, my problem with the company is its inability to turn a profit. It currently doesn't expect to start making money until 2028. That's why I think investors should forget about investing in Plug Power and consider the already profitable Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE).

Plug is still deep in the red, while Bloom's earnings are growing
Plug Power generated over $700 million in revenue last year. While that was up from $628 million in 2024, it was down from $891 million in 2023. Meanwhile, Plug's operations are losing money and burning through cash. The company posted a loss of more than $1.6 billion last year, up from nearly $1.4 billion in 2023. It used $536 million in cash from operations last year, requiring it to issue stock to bridge the gap, diluting existing investors and weighing on the share price.
Plug Power expects to steadily reach profitability over the next few years. It aims to achieve positive earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) in the fourth quarter of this year, positive operating earnings by the end of 2027, and overall profitability by 2028.
While Plug Power is still years away from reaching profitability, Bloom Energy is already there. It generated $2 billion in revenue last year (up 37%) while reporting $72.8 million in operating income. Bloom also generated $113.9 million in operating cash flow last year, its second straight year of positive free cash flow.
Bloom's focus is paying off
One reason Plug Power continues to lose money is its grand ambitions to build end-to-end green hydrogen businesses across the U.S. and Europe. It's building hydrogen production capacity, electrolyzers to produce hydrogen, and fuel cells. Its broad strategy gives it multiple ways to win as the hydrogen market grows. However, it's an expensive plan to execute.
The company has started streamlining its strategy over the past year. For example, it monetized its electricity rights (which it secured to support green hydrogen production) in New York and another location to strengthen its balance sheet. It also partnered with a data center developer to explore providing auxiliary and back-up power solutions using Plug's advanced fuel cell technology.
While Plug is in the early stages of exploring the potential of using its fuel cells to power data centers, Bloom Energy has emerged as a leader in that space. For example, last fall, Brookfield Asset Management formed a strategic AI partnership with Bloom Energy. As part of the deal, Brookfield will invest up to $5 billion to deploy Bloom's advanced fuel cell technology in data centers. They're also collaborating on the design and delivery of AI factories (specialized AI data centers) worldwide. Additionally, Bloom recently expanded its strategic partnership with Oracle to deploy up to 2.8 GW of its fuel cell systems in data centers. With these and other deals, Bloom now has a sales backlog of about $20 billion, supporting its continued growth and profitability.
Bloom is already where Plug wants to go
Plug Power wants to eventually become a profitable clean energy leader. However, it still has a long way to go before it achieves that goal. Bloom Energy, on the other hand, is already profitable. It has also emerged as a leader in providing clean power solutions to data centers, a market Plug wants to tap into. Those features make Bloom Energy the better energy stock to buy to ride the clean energy transition.

One of the most interesting things about Brookfield Corporation is its unique business model, which has three main components -- and they reinforce each other.
First, it owns a large stake in Brookfield Asset Management, which manages over $1 trillion in assets. This part of the business generates roughly $3 billion in annual fee-related earnings, and that figure has been growing at over 20% year over year. As more capital flows into alternative investments, this engine is well positioned to grow over time.
Second, Brookfield Corporation owns real assets across infrastructure, renewable energy, real estate, and private equity. These assets generate steady cash flow, often backed by long-term contracts and inflation-linked pricing. This gives the company both stability and a base to reinvest the cash into newer assets.
Third, Brookfield Corporation operates an insurance platform through Brookfield Wealth Solutions. This segment now manages $135 billion in insurance assets, providing access to long-duration capital that Brookfield Corporation can deploy across its own investments.
Put simply, Brookfield Corporation doesn't just raise capital -- it also generates its own. It can raise capital from investors, add internally generated insurance float, invest across real assets and credit, earn fees and cash flow, and then reinvest.
Over time, this creates a system that can continuously grow in multiple ways at once.
Why are investors paying attention now?
Brookfield Corporation has operated this model for years, but several developments are bringing it into focus.
First, the insurance business is scaling quickly. With more than $100 billion in insurance assets, Brookfield Corporation now has a growing pool of long-term float it controls directly. That reduces reliance on external fundraising and increases the flexibility of its investments.
Second, institutional and retail capital continue to shift toward alternative assets. Large investors, such as pension funds and sovereign wealth funds, are allocating more to infrastructure, private credit, and real assets, areas where Brookfield Corporation already has deep experience and a strong track record.
Third, the opportunity set is expanding. The global push toward renewable energy, along with rising demand for data centers and power infrastructure, is driving massive long-term investment. These are capital-intensive areas that align closely with Brookfield's strengths.
Put simply, these are not short-term trends, but structural shifts that could support growth for years.
What does it mean for investors?
Brookfield Corporation is not a household name like Amazon, nor is it the easiest company to analyze, especially given the multiple moving parts in its business model. Why Is Everyone Talking About Brookfield Corporation Stock?

BWX Technologies is a leading naval nuclear reactor company pushing the limits of nuclear fission technology.
We've had the technology for nuclear power generation since the 1950s but aside from France, every country has continued to favor oil, natural gas, and coal since then. That's changing though.
Around the world, nuclear power is enjoying a renaissance of renewed interest and investment. In the U.S. alone, the Department of Energy has set a goal to triple America's nuclear output by the middle of the century. Big tech companies are working with power companies to resurrect nuclear plants to power data centers.

As a result of that interest, nuclear stocks have been surging. And these three appear to be some of the best.
From the mine
Up first is Cameco (NYSE: CCJ), one of the world's premier uranium miners. In 2025, it was responsible for 15% of all the uranium produced in the world that year. The only company that produced more was Kazakhstan's state-owned company Kazatomprom.
The company is present through virtually the entirety of the nuclear fuel cycle. It has two high-grade mines in Canada and a third low-grade mine in Kazakhstan. It also has a fuel services division that refines and produces finished uranium fuel rods.
Finally, through a joint venture with Brookfield Asset Management (NYSE: BAM) it has 49% ownership of Westinghouse, an engineering company that produces the AP1000, which is the most advanced nuclear reactor on the market today.
For 2025, Cameco's revenue grew 11% and it maintains both a high net profit margin of 16.9% and a low debt-to-equity ratio of 0.14, which is good to see in an industry as capital intensive as mining.
To the reactor
All the uranium Cameco mines is for reactors around the world, including the 94 in the United States. And the single largest operator of those nuclear reactors is Constellation Energy Corp (NASDAQ: CEG).
Constellation is a pretty straightforward energy company with one key thing that sets it apart. It's both America's largest producer of green energy and its largest producer of nuclear energy. It owns 21 of America's nuclear reactors and it will be adding a new one soon.
The company has partnered with Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) to recomission part of the Three Mile Island nuclear plant as the Crane Clean Energy Center. Once completed (targeted for 2028), Microsoft has a 20-year power purchase agreement with Constellation to buy energy from the plant for its data centers in the area.
As an energy utility, Constellation is fairly stable and slow-growing. For 2025, its revenue was up 8.3% over 2024 and it recorded a net profit margin of 9.1%. It also has a healthy debt-to-equity ratio of 0.61.
It does pay a dividend, which it has increased every year since 2022. But it only yields 0.55% at present. However, with a payout ratio of 20.96%, Constellation has plenty of room to keep growing that dividend into the future.
Speaking of the future, Constellation's nuclear fleet represents the current generation of nuclear technology well, but there are plenty of companies pioneering the frontier of fission technology.
And onto the future
BWX Technologies (NYSE: BWXT) has been a leader in the naval nuclear reactor industry since the 1950s when it designed and produced components for the USS Nautilus, the world's first nuclear submarine. Since then, it has produced over 400 nuclear reactors for the U.S. Navy.
Its history in naval nuclear technology has given BWX a lot of experience making nuclear reactors work on a small scale. And it is bringing that capability to bear with its BWXT Advanced Nuclear Reactor or BANR, which is a small modular reactor (SMR).
SMRs work on the same principles as a conventional nuclear reactor, they're just smaller. BWX's BANR is no different. It's designed to be built in parts in a factory and then shipped out and put together at its final location. Once constructed, it can generate 75 megawatts of power, which makes it a potential solution to the power needs of artificial intelligence (AI) data centers.
And where other SMR companies are start-ups focused solely on developing SMRs, BWX has plenty of revenue from its existing business. For 2025, it brought in revenue of $3.19 billion, up 18% over 2024. Its earnings per share (EPS) grew 20% over the same period. The company also maintains a net profit margin of 10.3%.
If Cameco and Constellation represent the present of nuclear technology, BWX represents the future, the bleeding edge of where nuclear engineering is headed. All three of them are worth a look and I expect the nuclear bull run will continue through the remainder of this year and into the future.

3 Nuclear Energy Stocks That Are Quietly Becoming the Trades of the Year

It's been tough being an income investor of late. All the excitement seems to be on growth's side of the fence. Indeed, after an alarming pullback in February and March, the S&P 500 Growth index is up nearly 13% just since the end of last month.
That seems to have come at the expense of value stocks, and at the expense of dividend stocks in particular. If income is your investing priority, though, this recent movement doesn't change anything -- other than perhaps reopening the door to an entry opportunity you might have missed.

With that as the backdrop, here's a rundown of four of the market's top dividend-paying prospects right now. Even if you're already holding one or more of them, don't rule out the idea of adding to an existing position.
1. Illinois Tool Works
Illinois Tool Works (NYSE: ITW) might be one of the stock market's best-kept secrets.
Although its forward-looking dividend yield of 2.4% is far from thrilling, this company has been able to raises its per-share payout every year for the past 62 years -- and by more than a little. Over the course of just the past 10 years, the stock's quarterly per-share payment has improved from $0.55 to $1.61. That's an annualized growth rate of more than 11%. A healthy cadence of stock buybacks has also boosted per-share profitability and payouts during this stretch.
Credit the nature of its businesses, mostly: None of them are exactly high-growth. All are consistently profitable, though, and increasingly so. These lines of business include always-marketable goods like industrial fluids, food-service equipment, welding supplies, car parts, and testing equipment.
2. Oneok
It's been a wild ride for most oil stocks since the conflict in the Middle East materialized in early March. The disruption of supply chains creates scarcity, and scarcity raises prices. Most investors have spent the last couple of months guessing as to when matters might return to normal.
The one thing that scarcity and subsequently higher oil prices don't do, however, is reduce the consumption of gasoline or diesel fuel -- or for that matter, oil itself. The U.S. Energy Information Administration reports we're still using just as much as we ever have, regardless of its cost.
While this might create cost and profit havoc for the companies drilling and refining oil, it doesn't impact those simply transporting it from point A to point B. These are pipeline companies like Oneok (NYSE: OKE), which simply charges a fee for the amount of product it pushes through its pipes, regardless of the cost of the commodity traveling within their gas and oil delivery networks. This business is ideally suited for supporting recurring dividends.
Oneok is one of the best for income investors to consider right now. It's currently offering a solid forward dividend yield of 5%, based on a payout that's been not only reliable but also steadily growing for over a decade.
3. Verizon Communications
If you need your dividend stocks to also produce impressive capital gains and jaw-dropping dividend growth, you'll probably end up disappointed in Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ). On the other hand, with newcomers stepping into a forward-looking dividend yield of 6.1%, the lack of upside potential in these other metrics may still be well worth it.
The core argument for owning Verizon as an income investment is clear. When money is tight, consumers might postpone the purchase of a new automobile, or do a little less shopping. But they're unlikely to let go of their connection to the rest of the world; people will continue paying their mobile phone bills regardless of the cost.
The telecom giant has upped its payout for 19 consecutive years now. There are certainly other dividend payers out there with longer-lived growth pedigrees. Given that the company in its current form is only 26 years old, though, that's actually a pretty solid streak. Verizon is also only a few years away from becoming dividend royalty, and as such is highly incentivized to ensure it keeps paying and growing its dividend.
4. Brookfield Asset Management
Finally, add Brookfield Asset Management (NYSE: BAM) to your list of dividend stocks to buy, or to buy more of even if you happen to already own some.
Just as the name suggests, Brookfield is an investment manager -- a business with lots of competition. This one is unusual in that it doesn't bother with the usual index-based or sector-themed mutual funds or exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Rather, it only manages a small handful of publicly traded funds, under its own name, that limit their focus to infrastructure (like data centers, pipelines, and railroads), or renewable energy businesses (like hydroelectric power, wind, and solar).
While some might see this narrow focus as self-limiting, it's actually brilliant; it doesn't waste time, resources, or capital on businesses that aren't positioned to offer as much return on investment. Instead, it devotes resources to the best growth opportunities for the near term and the foreseeable future.
And the company isn't shy about touting its potential. It publicly says it's looking for growth of between 15% and 20% per year, and adds that right around 90% of whatever profits it produces will be passed along to shareholders in the form of dividends. You'd be stepping into a solid dividend yield of around 4%.

However, those stocks are volatile and don't pay any dividends. If you're looking for a more conservative income play with plenty of exposure to the expanding nuclear market, you should take a closer look at Brookfield Asset Management (NYSE: BAM).
What does Brookfield Asset Management do?
Brookfield Asset Management is one of the world's largest alternative asset management firms. Instead of investing in traditional assets like stocks, bonds, and Treasuries, it provides exposure to "alternative" investments like real estate, infrastructure, private equity, and credit markets. Most of its profits come from its management fees for those portfolios.
In 2023, Brookfield Asset Management teamed up with Cameco to purchase Westinghouse, one of the world's top nuclear energy and technology companies. Brookfield now owns 51% of Westinghouse, while Cameco controls the remaining 49%.
Brookfield Asset Management measures its growth with three key performance metrics: its fee-bearing capital (FBC), its total managed capital from all its clients; its fee-related earnings (FRE), or its total earnings from management and advisory fees; and its distributable earnings (DE), or its available cash flow for covering its dividends and interest payments. All three figures have steadily risen over the past four years, even as inflation, higher interest rates, geopolitical conflicts, and other macro headwinds rattled the global economy.

Brookfield continued to grow as many institutional investors shifted their assets from conventional to alternative investments to hedge their portfolios against those challenges. Many of its funds also lock in their investors for more than a decade.
Why is Brookfield a nuclear income stock?
Those strengths already make Brookfield Asset Management a stable long-term investment. It also pays a forward yield of 3.7% and has raised its payout each year after it was spun off from Brookfield Corporation in 2022.

Microsoft
The market dip has sent Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) shares down 30% from their previous high. Yet while the stock is trading at its biggest discount in years, management is growing more bullish. "Our [total addressable market] will grow substantially across every layer of the tech stack," CEO Satya Nadella said on the last earnings call. Nadella believes Microsoft is still in the early innings of its AI opportunity, and the company's numbers suggest he's right.
Microsoft Azure is the second-largest cloud services provider behind Amazon, and it is gaining share. Azure grew revenue 39% year over year last quarter, outpacing Amazon Web Services' 24% increase.
The demand for enterprise cloud services reflects the massive investments Microsoft has made in data centers, models, and its custom Maia and Cobalt chips. Microsoft secured long-term commitments from OpenAI and Anthropic last quarter, driving commercial bookings up 230% year over year.
Consumers have a lot of choice about which word processors or spreadsheets they use today. Here, too, Microsoft is showing it still has a formidable edge. Microsoft 365 consumer cloud revenue grew 29% year over year last quarter, with consumer subscriptions up 6%. This shows Microsoft is retaining and gaining new users as it integrates AI features across its products.
Microsoft has the data centers and chips to stay relevant and deliver returns to shareholders. Investors can currently buy the shares at a reasonable forward price-to-earnings multiple of 23, the lowest the stock has traded at in years.
Brookfield Asset Management
Brookfield Asset Management (NYSE: BAM) is one of the leading investment firms, with over $1.1 trillion in assets under management as of 2025. It manages money for institutional investors, but instead of putting their money in stocks and bonds, Brookfield buys hard assets with predictable cash flows: private equity, transportation, pipelines, utilities, and now data centers.
The stock has fallen 30% from its recent high, but that could undervalue the company's recent focus on investing big in AI infrastructure. AI will require tremendous investment in new data centers, and there's only so much land, power, and water available to build these facilities and cool the high-performance chips that run inside them.
Brookfield launched a $100 billion new program to invest in the supply chain for AI infrastructure, including land and energy. In December, it announced a $20 billion joint venture with Qai to invest in AI infrastructure in Qatar and other international markets.
Brookfield Asset Management is a stable business that benefits from fees it collects for managing clients' money, but it also carries risks. Higher interest rates could lower the value of the company's assets and make it more challenging to raise money for investment.
But that's why buying at the current discount is attractive. Brookfield Asset Management's parent company, Brookfield, delivered annualized returns of 19% over the last 30-plus years. These market-beating returns reflect management's track record of allocating capital to high-quality assets at attractive valuations.
Analysts expect Brookfield Asset Management to deliver roughly 14% annualized earnings growth over the coming years, consistent with management's target to double the business's size by 2030. The stock offers a forward dividend yield of 4.4% based on the quarterly payment of $0.5025 per share. This attractive yield for a world-class asset manager indicates solid value in the stock right now.

But over the past three years, some of those nuclear stocks recovered and hit new highs. One of the major catalysts was the rapid growth of the power-hungry cloud, data center, and artificial intelligence (AI) markets, which drove more companies to restart their nuclear projects. From 2024 to 2050, the International Atomic Energy Agency expects the world’s nuclear capacity to expand by up to 2.6 times. To capitalize on that growth, investors should consider buying these two nuclear stocks today: Cameco (NYSE: CCJ) and Oklo (NYSE: OKLO).
The uranium play: Cameco
Cameco, based in Canada, mined 15% of the world’s uranium in 2025, making it the second-largest uranium miner after Kazakhstan’s Kazatomprom. It operates mines and mills in Canada, the U.S., and Kazakhstan.
When uranium’s spot price plummeted from $62.25 per pound in 2011 to $35.00 in 2020, Cameco shut down its largest mines to stabilize its business. But the soaring demand for nuclear energy propelled uranium’s spot price to $84.25 at the end of this March, and Citi analysts believe its price could reach $100-$125 per pound this year.
In 2021, Cameco doubled its stake in Global Laser Enrichment (GLE), its uranium enrichment joint venture with Silex, from 24% to 49%. In 2023, it partnered with Brookfield Asset Management to acquire Westinghouse Electric, one of the world’s largest nuclear technology companies. Those investments could diversify Cameco’s business away from its mines and make it a more diversified nuclear energy company.
From 2025 to 2028, analysts expect Cameco’s revenue and adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) to grow at CAGRs of 8% and 12%, respectively. It isn’t cheap at 20 times this year’s sales, but it could deserve that premium valuation if uranium prices continue to rise and it expands its non-mining nuclear businesses.
The next-gen reactor play: Oklo
Conventional nuclear reactors are large, expensive, and difficult to deploy in remote areas. They also need to be refueled in stages every two years.
Oklo addresses those issues with its Aurora microreactor, which generates only 1.5 MW on its own but can be connected to additional reactors to produce up to 75 MW per deployment. That modular design makes them ideal for remote and off-grid nuclear power plants. The Aurora also uses metallic uranium fuel pellets, which are denser, have better thermal resistance, and are cheaper to fabricate than the uranium dioxide fuel pellets used in conventional reactors. It also recycles its fuel in a closed loop, allowing it to last roughly a decade without refueling.
Oklo hasn’t deployed any of its reactors or generated any meaningful revenue yet. However, it expects to deploy its first 75 MW Aurora Powerhouse reactor in Idaho in 2027. It also secured a U.S. Department of Defense contract to build a small reactor for Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska. From 2026 to 2028, analysts expect its revenue to rise from less than $1 million to $36 milion as it deploys those reactors and secures more contracts.
Oklo might seem absurdly overvalued at 233 times its 2028 revenue. But if more countries adopt its microreactors to build smaller nuclear power plants, its sales could surge over the next few decades. Therefore, Oklo’s stock might still have significant upside for patient investors.

As the largest pure-play, publicly traded uranium producer in the world, Cameco (NYSE: CCJ) is uniquely positioned to capture the value created by a widening supply demand deficit. Its shares have risen by more than 27% so far this year.
Where will this stock be in three years? Let's take a look.
Cameco's track record
As most investors know, past performance doesn't guarantee future returns. That's true, but you can often see where a company might be headed by looking at its financial trajectory.
Over the past five years, Cameco has increased its revenue by 76%, dividend by 93%, return on invested capital (ROIC) by 628%, and free cash flow by 134%. The last two are particularly interesting because they separate the energy companies that are just growing from those that are growing profitably.
In 2025, the Canadian mining company reported revenue of $3.48 billion, up 11%, and earnings per share (EPS) of $1.35, an increase of 246%. The company shored up its balance sheet, extinguishing the remaining $200 million on its U.S. term loan, and now has $1.2 billion in cash and cash equivalents compared to $1 billion in total debt.
Demand for the company's uranium remains high, and it has 230 million pounds committed under long-term contracts.
The Westinghouse investment is paying off
Beyond uranium mining, Cameco has transformed into an integrated nuclear fuel leader through its 2023 acquisition of a 49% stake in Westinghouse, with Brookfield Asset Management buying the remaining stake. The deal allows Cameco to benefit from uranium ore extraction, as well as from high-margin services, fuel fabrication, and maintenance of the global reactor fleet. This vertical integration buffers the company against the inherent cyclicality of raw commodity prices while providing exposure to the recurring revenue of the nuclear services market.
In 2025, Westinghouse delivered adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) to Cameco of $219 million, up 51%. Westinghouse is building two nuclear power plants at the Dukovany site in the Czech Republic, which should fuel greater earnings for Cameco. In October, a partnership among Cameco, Brookfield, and Westinghouse was announced that will provide at least $80 billion in investment from the U.S. government to accelerate the building of Westinghouse reactors.
It has a moat that will drive growth
Cameco is not just a mining company; it is an infrastructure play on the electrification of the global economy. For an investor looking to capitalize on the energy supercycle, the company offers a rare combination of commodity upside, defensive utility-like characteristics, and a dominant competitive position in an industry needed to meet global climate and technical goals.
It is expensive to mine and refine uranium, requiring significant start-up costs. Cameco already has the majority interest in two Tier 1 operating mines in northern Saskatchewan, plus minority interests in several other mines, giving it an edge over any newcomers for the near future.

Cameco, like most of its nuclear industry peers, faced unprecedented headwinds after the Fukushima disaster drove many countries to halt their nuclear programs. Uranium's year-end spot price fell from $62.25 per pound in 2011 to $35.00 in 2020, forcing Cameco to temporarily shut down its largest mines and mills to stay solvent.
However, uranium's price skyrocketed over the past few years as new decarbonization initiatives and the rapid expansion of the power-hungry cloud, AI, and data center markets drove more countries to restart their nuclear projects. Its spot price reached $84.25 at the end of this March, and Citi analysts expect it to rise to $100-$125 per pound this year.
Where will Cameco's stock be in three years?
Cameco's stock is still tightly tethered to uranium's spot price, but it's diversifying its business. Five years ago, it doubled its stake in Global Laser Enrichment (GLE) -- its uranium enrichment joint venture with Silex (OTC: SILXY) -- from 24% to 49%. By integrating GLE's laser-based uranium enrichment capabilities into its core mining and conversion businesses, Cameco could eventually become a "one-stop shop" for mining, converting, and selling enriched uranium.
Three years ago, Cameco partnered with Brookfield Asset Management (NYSE: BAM) to acquire Westinghouse Electric, one of the world's leading nuclear technology companies. That investment reduced Cameco's direct exposure to uranium prices and marked another major step toward becoming a more diversified nuclear energy company.
From 2025 to 2028, analysts expect Cameco's revenue and adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) to grow at CAGRs of 8% and 12%, respectively. But with an enterprise value of $69.3 billion, it isn't cheap at 37 times this year's adjusted EBITDA -- and a market crash could quickly reduce its forward EV/EBITDA ratio.
If Cameco matches analysts' estimates through 2028, grows its adjusted EBITDA by 10% in 2029, and trades at a more reasonable 25 times its current-year EBITDA by the final year, its stock would only rise about 4% over the next three years. Even with a higher valuation, it won't come anywhere close to replicating its multibagger gains from the past three years. So even though Cameco is a reliable play on the nuclear market, its upside could be limited.
