But the debate of Nvidia versus AMD hardware for artificial intelligence (AI) processing is a short one: Nvidia beats AMD all day long. However, that's an older notion that's beginning to shift.
AMD is starting to see real momentum in its product offering, and may start competing with Nvidia on a more level playing field in the near future. A shift in the landscape could make AMD a better investment than Nvidia for 2026.

So, which am I picking for 2026? Let's find out.
AMD's key weakness is starting to improve
From a product offering standpoint, Nvidia has owned the data center space since the artificial intelligence (AI) buildout began in 2023. Nvidia's technology stack, plus its leading software, made it the no-brainer choice to train AI models on, but AMD has improved its offering.
Thanks to a handful of acquisitions and partnerships, AMD's ROCm software has improved to become a more competitive offering with CUDA (Nvidia's software). During its recent financial analyst day, AMD noted that ROCm downloads have increased 10x year over year, showcasing that this software may be gaining traction in the AI community.
If AMD can offer a similar level of performance to Nvidia, Nvidia may be in trouble. It's no secret that Nvidia's hardware is far more expensive than AMD's, and this shows up in the two companies' margins.
Nvidia's gross margin and net income margin are far greater than AMD's, which shows that a huge chunk of the cost of Nvidia GPUs goes to paying its profits. With a greater scrutiny on how much money AI hyperscalers are spending on their data center capital expenditures, turning to cheaper alternatives like AMD in exchange for some performance decrease may be a smart move.
As of right now, I doubt this will happen. Companies are fairly locked into the Nvidia ecosystem, and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang noted the company was "sold out" of cloud GPUs right now. This wouldn't be the case if Nvidia were losing market share to cheaper alternatives, but this could open the door for AMD.
If potential customers are trying to obtain more computing power in a short time frame and Nvidia doesn't have the capacity, those companies may go to AMD to fulfill their needs. If those clients find that AMD's hardware is comparable, they could start moving more business from Nvidia to AMD.
We'll see if that thesis plays out, but the reality is there is plenty of room for both these companies to thrive.
The AI computing market is massive
Nvidia believes that global data center capital expenditures will rise to $3 trillion to $4 trillion by 2030, up from $600 billion in 2025. AMD is also bullish on this space and believes there will be a $1 trillion compute market by 2030. These two projections are fairly similar, as Nvidia's projections include all data center costs, while AMD's focuses on just compute.
If both companies are right on the market opportunity, there is a massive growth runway, which is why AMD told investors to expect a 60% compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) in its data center division. Nvidia likely expects a similar growth rate, making both stocks genius investments for 2026 if the 2030 projections from each company pan out.
Currently, Nvidia is the far cheaper stock, trading at 25 times next year's earnings versus 34 for AMD.
That's a significant premium that investors must pay to own AMD, which hasn't been as successful in its AI endeavors.
As a result, I think Nvidia is the better stock pick over AMD, as there are fewer expectations priced in. However, if AMD starts to deliver on its growth projections, don't be surprised if AMD outperforms Nvidia in 2026. Both companies are valid investments, and I won't be surprised when either beats the market in 2026.

Better Artificial Intelligence (AI) Stock for 2026: Nvidia or AMD?

Real estate could be a big winner as interest rates fall, and the Vanguard Real Estate ETF is on my buy list.
The Ark Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF is my favorite way to play the AI revolution.
Some of my favorite stocks have pulled back from their recent highs and have become quite attractive. And there are some others -- especially in the realm of dividend stocks -- that look extremely cheap as we head into 2026.
However, ETFs remain a big part of my investment strategy. In fact, I'm planning to allocate half of my retirement account contributions to ETFs in 2026, more than I have in previous years, as building a "backbone" to my investment portfolio has become a priority. Plus, there are some highly attractive ETFs on my radar right now. Here are three in particular I'm planning to buy aggressively in the new year.

Small caps are cheap
At the start of 2025, small cap stocks were trading for their lowest valuations relative to their large-cap counterparts since the 1990s. This is partially due to the rapid growth in megacap technology stocks, but large caps have been outperforming smaller companies for years. What's more, throughout 2025, the valuation gap got even bigger. In fact, the average stock in the Russell 2000 small-cap index trades for 2.0 times book value. For the average S&P 500 component, the ratio is a much higher 5.2 times book value. That's a big difference.
There are some catalysts that could finally help the valuation gap shrink in 2026. For one thing, lower interest rates favor small cap outperformance for a few reasons. As an example, smaller companies tend to rely on debt more than larger companies.
The Vanguard Russell 2000 ETF (NASDAQ: VTWO) is the ETF I bought the most of in 2025, and it's still toward the top of my watch list. It tracks an index of 2,000 smaller companies, and no individual stock makes up more than 1% of the fund's total assets.
Lots of cheap income stocks
The real estate sector has underperformed the market for the past decade or so, with pandemic-related disruptions and elevated interest rates being the key reasons. But there are some extremely attractive opportunities to buy real estate investment trusts, or REITs, right now, and the Vanguard Real Estate ETF (NYSEMKT: VNQ) could be a top performer in 2026 and beyond for patient long-term investors.
This ETF tracks an index of REITs and offers a 4% dividend yield. It can be a great way to get exposure to some of the largest and most stable real estate operators in the world, such as Prologis (NYSE: PLD), Digital Realty Trust (NYSE: DLR), and healthcare real estate company Welltower (NYSE: WELL), just to name a few.
My favorite AI ETF
So far, I've discussed value and income ETFs, but now I'll go in a different direction by discussing my favorite AI play. To be sure, I own a few stocks directly that are massive beneficiaries of the AI boom, such as Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) and Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN).
However, the top artificial intelligence ETF on my radar focuses on smaller, outside-the-box AI stocks. The Ark Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF (NYSEMKT: ARKQ) is an actively managed ETF, not an index fund, and notable tech investor Cathie Wood is the lead stock-picker.
To be sure, the number one holding of the Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF is Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) but you won't find any other Magnificent Seven stocks in the top 10. The largest positions are mostly in smaller AI stocks, such as Teradyne (NASDAQ: TER), Kratos Defense & Security (NASDAQ: KTOS), and Archer Aviation (NYSE: ACHR).
The bottom line on ETFs
These three ETFs highlight several different components of my investment strategy and why I like to use ETFs so much. The first two are pure index plays -- investments I hope to hold for decades that I think have a good entry point right now. On the other hand, the Ark ETF is on my radar because researching and analyzing smaller AI plays isn't exactly in my wheelhouse, and this allows me to gain exposure to exciting investment opportunities without too much homework.
The bottom line is that regardless of your investment goals and comfort level with choosing individual stocks, ETFs can play a big role in your strategy. These are three that I think are particularly attractive as we head in 2026, and I plan to add shares of all three to my portfolio in the near future.

3 Top ETFs I'm Planning to Buy Hand Over Fist in 2026, Despite All the Cheap Stocks on My Radar

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) today is down up +0.05%, the Dow Jones Industrials Index ($DOWI) (DIA) is up by +1.25%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) is down by -0.52%.
Stock indexes are mixed today, with the Nasdaq 100 falling to a 1-week low and the Dow Jones Industrials climbing to a new all-time high. The broader market is under pressure today after Oracle's earnings, viewed as a bellwether of the AI investment boom, came in worse than expected, fueling concerns about the vast spending tied to artificial intelligence. Shares of Oracle are down more than -12% to lead AI stocks lower after it reported Q2 cloud sales that missed estimates and raised its 2026 capital spending outlook by $15 billion to $50 billion. Oracle’s results reignited worries about tech valuations and whether the capital outlays on AI infrastructure will pay off.

Stocks have underlying support from a jump in weekly jobless claims to a 3-month high, which knocked bond yields lower. The 10-year T-note yield is down -4 bp to 4.11%. Also, a +3% rally in Visa shares today is boosting the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
US weekly initial unemployment claims rose by +44,000 to a 3-month high of 236,000, showing a weaker labor market than expectations of 220,000.
The US Sep trade deficit unexpectedly shrank to -$52.8 billion versus expectations of a widening to -$63.1 billion and the smallest deficit in 5.25 years.
The markets are discounting a 24% chance that the FOMC will cut the fed funds target range by 25 bp at the January 27-28 FOMC meeting.
Q3 corporate earnings season is drawing to a close as 495 of the 500 S&P companies have released results. According to Bloomberg Intelligence, 83% of reporting S&P 500 companies exceeded forecasts, on course for the best quarter since 2021. Q3 earnings rose +14.6%, more than doubling expectations of +7.2% y/y.
Overseas stock markets are mixed today. The Euro Stoxx 50 rallied to a 4-weekhigh and is up +1.07%. China’s Shanghai Composite closed down -0.70%. Japan’s Nikkei Stock 225 closed down -0.90%.
Interest Rates
March 10-year T-notes (ZNH6) today are up by +13 ticks. The 10-year T-note yield is down -3.1 bp to 4.116%. T-notes are climbing today as weakness in stocks has prompted some safe-haven buying of government debt. T-notes also have carryover support from Wednesday when the FOMC cut its 2025 and 2026 US core PCE price estimates, and Fed Chair Powell said that he doesn't think a rate hike is anybody's base case for the Fed's next policy move. T-notes held their gains after weekly jobless claims unexpectedly rose to a 3-month high, a dovish factor for Fed policy. Supply pressures may limit further upside in T-notes ahead of the Treasury’s $22 billion auction of 30-year T-bonds later today.
European government bond yields are moving lower today. The 10-year German bund yield is down by -0.6 bp to 2.845%. The 10-year UK gilt yield is down by -3.4 bp to 4.472%.
Swaps are discounting a 1% chance for a -25 bp rate cut by the ECB at its next policy meeting on December 18.
US Stock Movers
Oracle (ORCL) is down more than -12% to lead the S&P 500 losers, and AI-infrastructure stocks are lower today after reporting Q2 adjusted revenue of $16.06 billion, below the consensus of $16.21 billion, and raising its 2026 capital spending outlook by $15 billion to $50 billion. CoreWeave (CRWV) is down more than -7%, and Nebius Group NV (NBIS) is down more than -4% on the news.
Chip makers are sliding today, weighing on the broader market. ARM Holdings Plc (ARM) and Marvell Technology (MRVL) are down more than -4%. Also, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Nvidia (NVDA), and Broadcom (AVGO) are down more than -3%. In addition, Intel (INTC), Applied Materials (AMAT), GlobalFoundries (GFS), KLA Corp (KLAC), Micron Technology (MU), and Lam Research (LRCX) are down more than -2%.
Cryptocurrency-exposed stocks are under pressure today with Bitcoin (^BTCUSD) down more than -2%. Strategy (MSTR) is down more than -6% to lead losers in the Nasdaq 100. Also, Riot Platforms (RIOT) and MARA Holdings (MARA) are down more than -5%, Coinbase Global (COIN) is down more than -4%, and Galaxy Digital Holdings (GLXY) is down more than -3%.
Fertilizer stocks are moving higher today after Ukraine said its drones attacked two fertilizer plants in western Russia. Mosaic (MOS) is up more than +6% to lead gainers in the S&P 500. Also, Intrepid Potash (IPI) is up more than +4%, and CF Industries Holdings (CF) and FMC Corp (FMC) are up more than +3%.
Oxford Industries (OXM) is down more than -22% after cutting its 2026 adjusted EPS forecast to $2.20-$2.40 from a previous estimate of $2.80-$3.20, well below the consensus of $2.91.
Lovesac Co (LOVE) is down more than -13% after cutting its 2026 net sales forecast to $685 million-$705 million from a previous forecast of $710 million-$740 million, weaker than the consensus of $713.7 million.
Stellantis NV (STLA) is down more than -3% after BNP Paribas Exane downgraded the stock to underperform from neutral.
Intuitive Surgical (ISRG) is down more than -1% after Citigroup downgraded the stock to neutral from buy.
Gemini Space Station Inc (GEMI) is up more than +17% after the company’s application for a derivatives exchange was approved by the Commodity Futures Exchange Commission.
Ciena Corp (CIEN) is up more than +6% after reporting Q4 revenue of $1.35 billion, better than the consensus of $1.29 billion.
Visa (V) is up more than +3% to lead gainers in the Dow Jones Industrials after Bank of America Global Research upgraded the stock to buy from neutral with a price target of $382.
Unity Software (U) is up more than +2% after Piper Sandler upgraded the stock to overweight from neutral with a price target of $59.
JB Hunt Transport Services (JBHT) is up more than +2% after Deutsche Bank upgraded the stock to buy from hold with a price target of $227.
West Pharmaceutical Services (WST) is up more than +1% after Nephron Research LLC upgraded the stock to buy from hold with a price target of $367.

Dow Jumps to New Highs as Fed Cut, Oracle Miss Fuel Shift from Tech to Value Stocks

For the last three years, Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) has been the most dominant company in the artificial intelligence (AI) landscape. The company's graphics processing units (GPUs) are the backbone on which generative AI is developed.
Hyperscalers including OpenAI, Oracle, Meta Platforms, and cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have collectively spent hundreds of billions of dollars clustering Nvidia GPUs inside of data centers to build their AI infrastructure.

While Advanced Micro Devices is largely perceived as Nvidia's chief rival in the AI chip market, a new threat is emerging: Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL) (NASDAQ: GOOG). The internet giant is making waves in the semiconductor industry thanks to rising interest in its custom hardware, known as tensor processing units (TPUs).
Let's take a look at what Alphabet's entrance in the chip market means for Nvidia as investments in AI infrastructure continue to unfold. Should Nvidia investors be worried? Read on to find out.
What is the difference between a GPU and a TPU?
Nvidia's GPUs are versatile pieces of hardware. These chips are designed to work in clusters in parallel with the company's CUDA software architecture. Taken together, Nvidia's ecosystem can be used to train large language models (LLMs) or help build more robust applications across AI robotics, autonomous driving, and quantum computing.
TPUs, by contrast, are much more specialized. Rather than being a purpose-built piece of hardware, Alphabet's TPUs should be classified as a custom application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC). This makes TPUs useful in extremely bespoke workloads such as deep learning.
Alphabet's TPUs are seeing strong demand, but there's a catch
Throughout the AI revolution, one of Alphabet's biggest winners has been its cloud division: Google Cloud platform. In recent months, Google Cloud has won notable deals with OpenAI as well as a $10 billion contract with Meta Platforms.
What investors might not fully comprehend is that the introduction of hardware now makes TPUs an interesting selling point within Google's broader cloud ecosystem.
Notably, Apple used TPUs to train its Apple Intelligence models. Meanwhile, Anthropic announced plans to expand its usage of Google Cloud in a deal featuring up to 1 million TPUs. Lastly, rumors are swirling that Meta is considering complementing its existing reliance on Google Cloud by deploying its own TPU clusters.
On the surface, accelerating TPU demand from big tech might sound alarming for Nvidia investors. However, there are some finer details that smart investors shouldn't overlook.
While Anthropic's relationship with Google Cloud is significant, the company also has strong ties with Nvidia. Just weeks ago, Anthropic agreed to purchase $30 billion of compute capacity from Microsoft Azure, which runs heavily on Nvidia's GPUs.
On top of that, OpenAI recently struck a $38 billion deal with AWS to access Nvidia's new GB200 and GB300 chips.
Furthermore, while Nvidia does not reveal the specifics around its customer concentration, many analysts on Wall Street suspect that the hyperscalers -- including Alphabet -- are among its largest chip buyers.
These are important details to understand. While TPUs represent potentially transformative dynamics in the AI chip market, many of their users -- including Google itself -- actually complement this custom hardware with Nvidia's general purpose GPUs. Against this backdrop, TPUs don't appear to be replacing GPUs at all.
AI chips is not a winner-take-all market
Management consulting firm McKinsey & Company is forecasting AI infrastructure to be a $7 trillion market by 2030, with roughly $5 billion of this spend allocated toward AI workloads.
Given the hyperscalers are accelerating their capital expenditures (capex), I feel confident that demand for Nvidia's GPUs and accompanying data center services will remain robust for the foreseeable future.
It's possible -- even likely -- that rival accelerators from AMD in combination with custom ASICs such as TPUs will eventually erode Nvidia's pricing power in the chip market down the road.
Nevertheless, the introduction of TPUs is not a checkmate move by Google. If anything, complementing existing Nvidia infrastructure with custom chip designs reinforces how large of an opportunity AI infrastructure is becoming. In other words, AI chips are not a winner-take-all market.
For these reasons, I don't think Nvidia investors need to panic. The company still remains the king of the chip realm and appears well positioned to thrive in the AI infrastructure era.

Stock indexes are mixed today, with the Nasdaq 100 falling to a 1-week low and the Dow Jones Industrials climbing to a 4-week high. The broader market is under pressure today after Oracle's earnings, viewed as a bellwether of the AI investment boom, came in worse than expected, fueling concerns about the vast spending tied to artificial intelligence. Shares of Oracle are down more than -14% to lead AI stocks lower after it reported Q2 cloud sales that missed estimates and raised its 2026 capital spending outlook by $15 billion to $50 billion. Oracle’s results reignited worries about tech valuations and whether the capital outlays on AI infrastructure will pay off.

Stocks have underlying support from a jump in weekly jobless claims to a 3-month high, which knocked bond yields lower. The 10-year T-note yield is down -4 bp to 4.11%.
US weekly initial unemployment claims rose by +44,000 to a 3-month high of 236,000, showing a weaker labor market than expectations of 220,000.
The US Sep trade deficit unexpectedly shrank to -$52.8 billion versus expectations of a widening to -$63.1 billion and the smallest deficit in 5.25 years.
The markets are discounting a 22% chance that the FOMC will cut the fed funds target range by 25 bp at the January 27-28 FOMC meeting.
Q3 corporate earnings season is drawing to a close as 495 of the 500 S&P companies have released results. According to Bloomberg Intelligence, 83% of reporting S&P 500 companies exceeded forecasts, on course for the best quarter since 2021. Q3 earnings rose +14.6%, more than doubling expectations of +7.2% y/y.
Overseas stock markets are mixed today. The Euro Stoxx 50 is up +0.52%. China’s Shanghai Composite closed down -0.70%. Japan’s Nikkei Stock 225 closed down -0.90%.
Interest Rates
March 10-year T-notes (ZNH6) today are up by +14 ticks. The 10-year T-note yield is down -4.1 bp to 4.106%. T-notes are climbing today as weakness in stocks has prompted some safe-haven buying of government debt. T-notes also have carryover support from Wednesday when the FOMC cut its 2025 and 2026 US core PCE price estimates, and Fed Chair Powell said that he doesn't think a rate hike is anybody's base case for the Fed's next policy move. T-notes held their gains after weekly jobless claims unexpectedly rose to a 3-month high, a dovish factor for Fed policy. Supply pressures may limit further upside in T-notes ahead of the Treasury’s $22 billion auction of 30-year T-bonds later today.
European government bond yields are moving lower today. The 10-year German bund yield is down by -0.2 bp to 2.849%. The 10-year UK gilt yield is down by -2.6 bp to 4.480%.
Swaps are discounting a 1% chance for a -25 bp rate cut by the ECB at its next policy meeting on December 18.
US Stock Movers
Oracle (ORCL) is down more than -13% to lead the S&P 500 losers, and AI-infrastructure stocks are lower today after reporting Q2 adjusted revenue of $16.06 billion, below the consensus of $16.21 billion, and raising its 2026 capital spending outlook by $15 billion to $50 billion. CoreWeave (CRWV) is down more than -7%, and Nebius Group NV (NBIS) is down more than -6% on the news.
Chip makers are sliding today, weighing on the broader market. ARM Holdings Plc (ARM) is down more than -3% to lead losers in the Nasdaq 100, and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is down more than -3%. Also, Nvidia (NVDA) is down more than -2% to lead losers in the Dow Jones Industrials, and Broadcom (AVGO), Applied Materials (AMAT), and Lam Research (LRCX) are down more than -2%. In addition, GlobalFoundries (GFS), Marvell Technology (MRVL), Micron Technology (MU), and KLA Corp (KLAC) are down more than -1%.
Cryptocurrency-exposed stocks are under pressure today with Bitcoin (^BTCUSD) down more than -2%. Galaxy Digital Holdings (GLXY), Riot Platforms (RIOT), Strategy (MSTR), MARA Holdings (MARA), and Coinbase Global (COIN) are down more than -2%.
Oxford Industries (OXM) is down more than -15% after cutting its 2026 adjusted EPS forecast to $2.20-$2.40 from a previous estimate of $2.80-$3.20, well below the consensus of $2.91.
Lovesac Co (LOVE) is down more than -8% after cutting its 2026 net sales forecast to $685 million-$705 million from a previous forecast of $710 million-$740 million, weaker than the consensus of $713.7 million.
Stellantis NV (STLA) is down more than -3% after BNP Paribas Exane downgraded the stock to underperform from neutral.
Coherent (COHR) is down more than -2% after Bain Capital unloaded $987.3 million of its Coherent holdings via an unregistered block trade.
Gemini Space Station Inc (GEMI) is up more than +6% after the company’s application for a derivatives exchange was approved by the Commodity Futures Exchange Commission.
Ciena Corp (CIEN) is up more than +4% after reporting Q4 revenue of $1.35 billion, better than the consensus of $1.29 billion.
Unity Software (U) is up more than +4% after Piper Sandler upgraded the stock to overweight from neutral with a price target of $59.
Adobe (ADBE) is up more than +2% to lead gainers in the Nasdaq 100 after forecasting Q1 adjusted EPS of $5.85 to $5.90, stronger than the consensus of $5.66.
West Pharmaceutical Services (WST) is up more than +1% after Nephron Research LLC upgraded the stock to buy from hold with a price target of $367.
JB Hunt Transport Services (JBHT) is up more than +1% after Deutsche Bank upgraded the stock to buy from hold with a price target of $227.

Intel Corporation INTC and Pinterest, Inc. PINS are two major players in the technology sector with key expertise in their respective domains. Intel, reportedly the world’s largest semiconductor company and primary supplier of microprocessors and chipsets, is gradually reducing its dependence on the PC-centric business by moving into data-centric businesses, such as AI and autonomous driving. The foundry operating model is a key component of the company's strategy, designed to reshape operational dynamics and drive greater transparency, accountability and focus on costs and efficiency.
Pinterest provides a platform to show its users (called Pinners) visual recommendations (called Pins) based on their tastes and interests. Users then save and organize these recommendations into collections (called Boards). Pinterest generates revenue by delivering ads on its website and mobile application. The company is helping advertisers reach millennials and Gen Z audiences who are more active on immersive mobile platforms.
Let us delve a little deeper into the companies’ competitive dynamics to understand which of the two is relatively better placed in the broader industry.
The Case for Intel
Intel is expanding its manufacturing capacity to accelerate its IDM 2.0 (Integrated Device Manufacturing) strategy. It is making various strategic decisions to gain a firmer footing in the expansive AI sector. The company has previewed Intel Core Ultra series 3 processor (code-named Panther Lake) and Xeon 6+ (code-named Clearwater Forest) in third-quarter 2025. Manufactured in a new, state-of-the-art factory in Chandler, AZ, both products are built on Intel 18A, the most advanced semiconductor process in the United States. Panther Lake is designed to power a broad spectrum of consumer and commercial AI PCs, gaming devices and edge solutions. Clearwater Forest is an E-core server processor that enables business enterprises to scale workloads, reduce energy costs and power more intelligent services. While Panther Lake will be available in the broad market from January, Clearwater Forest is slated to be launched in the first half of 2026.
Intel's innovative AI solutions are set to benefit the broader semiconductor ecosystem by driving down costs, improving performance and fostering an open, scalable AI environment. The company has received $7.86 billion in direct funding from the U.S. Department of Commerce for its commercial semiconductor manufacturing projects under the U.S. CHIPS and Science Act. Intel has secured a $5 billion investment from NVIDIA Corporation NVDA to jointly develop cutting-edge solutions that are likely to play an integral role in the evolution of the AI infrastructure ecosystem. Softbank also invested $2 billion in Intel to propel AI research and development initiatives that support digital transformation, cloud computing and next-generation infrastructure. The funds will support Intel in advancing critical semiconductor manufacturing and advanced packaging projects in Arizona, New Mexico, Ohio and Oregon, likely paving the way for innovation and growth.
However, Intel derives a significant part of its revenues from China. As Washington tightens restrictions on high-tech exports to China, Beijing has intensified its push for self-sufficiency in critical industries. This shift poses a dual challenge for Intel, as it faces potential market restrictions and increased competition from domestic chipmakers. The company is also lagging in the GPU and AI front compared to peers such as NVIDIA and Advanced Micro Devices, Inc AMD. Leading technology companies are reportedly piling up NVIDIA’s GPUs to build clusters of computers for their AI work, leading to exponential revenue growth.
The Case for Pinterest
Pinterest is increasingly establishing a unique value proposition for advertisers that could provide a competitive advantage in the long run. Through various innovations, it continues to dramatically improve the advertising platform, which appears to be one of the best ad platforms for consumer discretionary brands seeking new ways to reach customers and stretch smaller ad budgets. Pinterest’s Verified Merchants Program allows brands to create a catalog of shoppable products on the app and use special retargeting capabilities in their ads.
The company’s focus on improving operational rigor and incorporating sophisticated AI (artificial intelligence) models to enhance relevancy and personalization is likely to bring long-term benefits. Pinterest is also emphasizing building new ad tools and formats to help grow the scope of monetization on the platform. This will enable advertisers to measure the results and conversion rates, which will improve their decision-making. It has partnered with Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN to further capitalize on the commercial intent of its user base and increase shoppability on its platform. The buyout of the AI-powered, high-tech fashion-shopping platform, The Yes, has enabled it to create a strategic organization to help steer the evolution of its features and merchants.
However, Pinterest expects operating expenses to increase substantially in the near term as it expands operations domestically and internationally, enhancing product offerings, broadening user and advertiser base, expanding marketing channels, hiring additional employees and developing technology. Increased infrastructure spending related to user and engagement growth is likely to result in higher costs of revenue. In addition, Pinterest faces significant competition from larger, more established companies and smaller firms, which offer users engaging content and commerce opportunities through similar technology, products and services.
How Do Zacks Estimates Compare for INTC & PINS?
The Zacks Consensus Estimate for Intel’s 2025 sales implies a year-over-year decline of 1.3%, while that of EPS indicates growth of 346.2%. The EPS estimates have been trending northward (up 128.6%) on average over the past 60 days.

Intel looks more attractive than Pinterest from a valuation standpoint. Going by the price/sales ratio, Intel’s shares currently trade at 3.61 forward sales, lower than 3.91 for Pinterest.

INTC vs. PINS: Which Tech Stock Deserves a Spot in Your Portfolio?

Shares of Palantir continued their impressive run in 2025.

Their stock valuations are far more compelling than Palantir's, setting them up to outperform.
After climbing 167% in 2023 and 340% in 2024, Palantir (NASDAQ: PLTR) stock is on course to deliver another stellar return in 2025. Shares are up by about 148% year to date, and investors remain optimistic about the artificial intelligence (AI) company. Its market cap of $448 billion now puts it among the 25 most valuable publicly traded companies.
But smart investors focus on what the future holds rather than simply betting on yesterday's winners. And two smaller AI companies could outperform Palantir in 2026, even reaching levels that push their values beyond that of the soaring tech giant by the end of next year.

How high can Palantir climb in 2026?
Palantir has been growing at a rare pace for a company of its size. In the software world, there is a popular concept known as the Rule of 40, which measures a company based on the sum of its revenue growth percentage and its operating margin percentage. A software company for which those two statistics combine for a number above 40 is deemed investable based on its growth and profitability. Last quarter, Palantir produced revenue growth of 63% and an adjusted operating margin of 51%, giving it a Rule of 40 score of 114.
Palantir is profitable, and it's growing faster than analysts anticipated. But after it reported stellar third-quarter earnings, the market congratulated it by sending shares lower.
That speaks to the biggest challenge facing Palantir in 2026. Investors have already baked years of hoped-for future growth that's well in excess of published analysts' forecasts into its stock price. It trades for almost 100 times analysts' revenue expectations for 2026 and a whopping 250 times expected forward earnings. These are not rational valuations, so Palantir will have to deliver results that are far above expectations to lift the stock from here.
Many analysts raised their price targets for Palantir this year, and the median of $200 is about 6% above its price as of this writing. However, most analysts maintain either a hold or sell rating on the stock, indicating they don't have a lot of confidence that it will move higher from here. I think the odds are good that Palantir will take a step back in 2026 as investors start to value the company more rationally.
Meanwhile, these two AI stocks could end up surpassing Palantir's valuation by the end of the year.
1. Alibaba
Alibaba (NYSE: BABA) is more than just a Chinese e-commerce giant. It's also the largest cloud infrastructure provider in China, and it's making excellent progress in artificial intelligence. Management says its AI services revenue grew at a triple-digit pace for the ninth consecutive quarter in Q3, pushing its total cloud revenue 34% higher.
Alibaba faces a challenge similar to Western cloud computing giants: Demand for AI services is outpacing its ability to build new data centers. That's despite the company's investing 120 billion yuan (approximately $17 billion) into AI and cloud infrastructure over the past four quarters. While management wouldn't confirm an outlook for continued acceleration in the growth of the cloud business, it remains highly confident its investments will pay off.
The retail business continues to be a cash cow that can fund the expansion of its cloud infrastructure. While competitors have been eating into Alibaba's dominant market share, it continues to grow its sales. Investments in quick commerce, where goods are delivered within a few hours of ordering, have weighed on profitability but pushed revenue growth higher.
The market appears to be undervaluing Alibaba's growth potential. Its forward P/E of under 24 is well below those of other AI stocks. It heavily discounts the growth of the cloud computing business and the potential for its margins to expand as it scales. It may also over-weight the margin pressure on the retail business as the market pushes toward more quick commerce and competitive pressure impacts its cash cow.
Alibaba currently sports a market cap of $378 billion. If investors bestow a higher earnings multiple upon it, and the company continues to grow in 2026, it could easily surpass Palantir's market cap.
2. AMD
AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) is often thought of as an also-ran in the graphics processing unit (GPU) space. Nvidia has a clear market lead, and its popular CUDA software platform has locked many developers into its architecture. But AMD is making excellent progress competing with Nvidia, and it could accelerate its growth over the coming years.
In fact, management expects its data center revenue growth to average 60% over the next three to five years, with AI-specific solutions projected to grow at an annualized rate of 80%. Overall, it anticipates taking at least 10% of the growing AI compute market, which it expects to reach $1 trillion by 2030. That growth should also push AMD's gross margins higher, leading to even stronger earnings growth.
AMD's growth will stem from an increase in spending on inference processing, where its hardware competes well with Nvidia's GPUs and other players' custom silicon solutions. Management claims its forthcoming Instinct MI450 series will close the performance gap between it and Nvidia, based on technical specifications. And with its more advanced architecture, it may have a power-efficiency advantage. The new chip marks an inflection point for AMD with regard to AI performance.
As a result, management (and analysts) expect its earnings to significantly increase over the next couple of years. While AMD's forward P/E ratio of around 55 is expensive, the stock trades for only 21 times expectations for 2027 earnings. If management's long-term forecast for earnings of $20 per share by 2030 comes to fruition, the stock looks like an incredible bargain at today's price.
With a market cap of $360 billion today, AMD shares will need to have another strong year to surpass Palantir. But the MI450 release could be the catalyst that pushes the chipmaker ahead of the AI software giant.

When you look at the stock market performance of the 11 major U.S. business sectors, there's tech, and then there's everyone else. The tech sector has considerably outperformed other sectors and has positioned itself as the go-to for investors seeking high-growth opportunities.
Twenty years ago, at the end of 2005, only one of the world's top 10 most valuable companies was a tech company (Microsoft). Today, nine of them are, each with a valuation of over $1 trillion (as of Dec. 4).

Considering the historical success, it makes sense that investors would want to continue pouring money into the sector. Rather than betting on individual stocks, investing in tech-focused exchange-traded funds (ETF)gives you broad exposure to the sector without taking on each company's individual risks.
Two popular tech ETFs are the Invesco QQQ ETF (NASDAQ: QQQ) and the Vanguard Information Technology ETF (NYSEMKT: VGT). However, if you had to choose one of the two, which is the better option to go with heading into 2026? To me, the Invesco ETF stands out as the go-to. Here's why.
Sector technicalities could mean missing out on key tech companies with Vanguard Information Technology ETF
The Invesco QQQ mirrors the Nasdaq-100, an index tracking the 100 largest nonfinancial companies on the Nasdaq exchange. This means QQQ isn't only tech stocks, but they do make up 64% of the ETF. On the other hand, the Vanguard ETF contains only companies from the information technology (tech) sector.
One knock on Vanguard Information Technology that makes me lean toward QQQ is how stock sectors are defined and how that affects what companies the Vanguard fund holds. The Vanguard fund is a pure-play tech ETF, but because of how the information technology sector is categorized, it's missing some key companies that I'd want exposure to if I were investing in a tech ETF.
For example, the ETF doesn't include Alphabet, Amazon, Meta, Tesla, or Netflix because the stock market categorizes those companies in different sectors. Alphabet, Meta, and Netflix fall into the communication services sector, and Amazon and Tesla fall into the consumer discretionary sector.
Although QQQ includes companies from other sectors, it also includes all the companies mentioned above, as well as those that technically fall into the tech sector.
High concentration comes with more risk
The other reason I would prefer QQQ over Vanguard Information Technology ETF going into 2026 is that it's much less concentrated. Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA), Apple, and Microsoft are the top three holdings in each ETF, but in the Vanguard ETF, they account for over 45% of the fund.

Three companies comprising around 25% of QQQ doesn't necessarily scream diversification, but having three companies account for over 45% of a 314-stock ETF is a high-risk, high-reward game. It has worked out in Vanguard Information Technology ETF's favor in the past few years because of Nvidia's beyond-impressive performance (up 987% in three years), but the cause of its gains can be the same cause of its vulnerability.
The high concentration in Nvidia, in particular, is cause for hesitation. It has benefited significantly from demand for its graphics processing units (GPUs), artificial intelligence (AI) chips, and other data center hardware. But at over 18% of the Vanguard fund, you'd be banking on that demand continuing and Nvidia's earnings growth remaining near its current rate at a time when it's facing increased competition from companies like Alphabet, Amazon, and AMD.
AI demand is still strong, but I would prefer exposure to QQQ in the coming year because it also holds companies that deal with AI on the application side (Alphabet, Amazon, and Meta), which seems more promising than relying solely on the hardware side of the ecosystem.
Comparing their performances
Over the past decade, both QQQ and the Vanguard Information Technology ETF have performed impressively, but the Vanguard fund has outperformed QQQ, mainly due to the growth of its top holdings, such as Nvidia. However, when you zoom out, QQQ has narrowly outperformed Vanguard since the latter debuted in January 2004.
Past performance doesn't guarantee future performance, and there's no way to predict how each will perform going forward. That said, I like how QQQ is better positioned for the long run. It has all the tech giants you would want, while having a piece of other sectors to help hedge against any tech-related downturns.

Nebius Group (NASDAQ: NBIS) has made investors significantly richer in the past year. An investment of just $100 in shares of this neocloud company is now worth just over $266.
The 166% gains that Nebius achieved during this period have been fueled by the growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) computing power in data centers. It's in the business of setting up dedicated AI data centers equipped with powerful graphics processing units (GPUs) from Nvidia, as well as server processors from AMD and Intel, to deliver high-performance computing.

But can the company sustain its red-hot rally in the coming year, especially considering concerns about the heavy spending on AI infrastructure? Let's find out.
Nebius' business model should supercharge its growth next year
Nebius rents out its computing power to customers that require it to run AI workloads, store AI-related data in the cloud, train large language models (LLMs), develop custom AI solutions, and execute AI inference solutions. More importantly, the company goes beyond just providing the hardware. It is a full-stack AI company offering managed software services that enable customers to build and fine-tune models and inference applications.
As such, it is in a position to capitalize on two key aspects of the AI market.
First, hyperscalers and AI companies are seeking to acquire computing power to run AI workloads in the cloud. There is a deficit in available AI computing power, which is why major cloud computing companies aren't able to fulfill their contracts. As a result, the contractual backlogs of these companies have skyrocketed.
Second, an increasing number of businesses, governments, and AI companies are likely to develop and deploy AI applications, both for their in-house use and for customers. That's because the technology is driving productivity gains for companies adopting it. Market research firm IDC estimates that each $1 spent on AI in 2030 could generate $4.60 in value.
This should pave the way for Nebius to keep growing at a blistering pace in the coming year, given the full-stack nature of its services. Its revenue in the first nine months of 2025 shot up by 437% to $302 million. Moreover, Nebius also reduced its adjusted net loss by 61% during this period to $170 million.
Management expects to achieve annualized run-rate revenue of $7 billion to $9 billion by the end of 2026. It calculates this metric by multiplying the revenue in the final month of the quarter by 12. This means sales in December 2026 could be as high as $750 million. That's significantly higher than what the company has generated so far in 2025.
For comparison, Nebius is expected to close 2025 with $556 million in revenue, up by 374% from last year. Analysts expect an acceleration in its top-line growth to $3.3 billion in 2026.
Nebius' revenue, therefore, could jump sixfold next year. This ambitious target seems achievable because the company has landed a couple of huge contracts from Meta Platforms and Microsoft that are likely to supercharge its growth in 2026. These two companies alone have created a revenue backlog of more than $20 billion for the company.
As a result, Nebius now plans to increase its connected data center capacity to a range of 800 megawatts (MW) to 1 gigawatt by the end of 2026. That would be a major increase over the 220 MW of connected power that it's projecting by the end of 2025. This major capacity expansion should support the incredible revenue growth that analysts are expecting from the company next year.
But will this blistering growth be enough to send the stock higher?
Investors may be worried about one thing
The stock's stunning rally in the past year is the reason it's now trading at a costly 65 times sales. That's way higher than the U.S. technology sector's average price-to-sales ratio (P/S) of 9.
But then, Nebius' red-hot growth, which is set to get better next year, justifies its valuation. In fact, the company's forward sales multiples are significantly lower due to the huge growth that it is expected to deliver.
Even if Nebius trades at a significantly discounted 10 times sales (almost in line with the tech sector's average) next year and delivers $3.3 billion in revenue, its market cap could hit $33 billion. That points toward potential gains of 33% from current levels. However, this AI stock could deliver more than that since it is likely to enjoy a premium valuation due to its huge backlog, which could help it beat Wall Street's revenue expectations for 2026.
