The Wall Street Journal reported that OpenAI recently failed to meet its goals for new users and sales, undercutting the shares of OpenAI partners and AI infrastructure stocks, including Nvidia, Oracle, Advanced Micro Devices, and CoreWeave.

On the positive side, Coca-Cola rose more than +3% to limit losses in the Dow Jones Industrials after reporting stronger-than-expected Q1 net revenue.
Stocks bounced from their worst levels on Tuesday amid better-than-expected US economic news. The Conference Board Apr consumer confidence index unexpectedly rose +0.6 to a 4-month high of 92.8, stronger than expectations of a decline to 89.0. Also, the Apr Richmond Fed manufacturing survey rose +3 to a 14-month high of 3, stronger than expectations of 1. In addition, the Feb S&P composite-20 home price index rose +0.90% y/y, weaker than expectations of +1.12% y/y and the smallest pace of increase in more than 2.5 years.
Soaring crude oil prices are boosting inflation expectations, pushing bond yields higher, and weighing on stocks. WTI crude oil jumped to a 2-week high on Tuesday after the New York Times reported that President Trump is not satisfied with Iran’s latest proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end the war, which includes postponing nuclear negotiations. Mr. Trump has said any deal must include agreements to curb Iran’s nuclear activities. The 10-year T-note yield climbed to a 3-week high of 4.38% on Tuesday. The 2-day FOMC meeting began on Tuesday and concludes on Wednesday, and the Fed is expected to keep monetary policy unchanged.
WTI crude oil prices (CLM26) rose by more than +3% on Tuesday as the US and Iran are locked in a battle for control of the Strait of Hormuz, with both sides blocking the waterway to gain leverage during an extended ceasefire. The Strait of Hormuz remains essentially closed, threatening to deepen the global energy crisis. The ongoing blockade could exacerbate global oil and fuel shortages, as about a fifth of the world’s oil and liquefied natural gas transits through the strait. Goldman Sachs estimates that crude output in the Persian Gulf has been curtailed by about 14.5 million bpd, or more than 50%, so far in April, and that the current disruption has drawn down nearly 500 million bbl from global crude stockpiles, which could hit a billion bbl by June.
Kevin Warsh now appears to be on a glide path toward Senate approval as the new Fed Chair after Senator Thom Tillis said on Sunday that he dropped his opposition to the nomination. Mr. Tillis dropped his opposition after the US Justice Department dropped its criminal investigation into the Fed’s overspending on the renovation of its building, in line with Mr. Tillis’ demand. Mr. Tillis views the investigation into Fed Chair Powell as an attempt to force the Fed to cut interest rates. The Senate Banking Committee is due to vote on Mr. Warsh’s appointment this Wednesday and then send the nomination to the full Senate for a vote.
The markets are discounting a 0% chance for a +25 bp FOMC rate hike at the Tue-Wed policy meeting. The markets are expecting the FOMC to leave policy unchanged this week as it awaits further developments in oil prices and inflation.
Earnings season ramps up this week with several Magnificent Seven technology stocks reporting. Earnings results thus far have been supportive of stocks. As of Tuesday, 80% of the 172 S&P 500 companies that reported Q1 earnings have beaten estimates. Q1 S&P 500 earnings are projected to climb +12% y/y, according to Bloomberg Intelligence. Stripping out the technology sector, Q1 earnings are projected to increase around +3%, the weakest in two years.
Overseas stock markets settled lower on Tuesday. The Euro Stoxx 50 fell to a 2.5-week low and closed down -0.41%. China's Shanghai Composite closed down -0.19%. Japan's Nikkei Stock 225 closed down -1.02%.
Interest Rates
June 10-year T-notes (ZNM6) on Tuesday closed down -5.5 ticks. The 10-year T-note yield rose +1.0 bp to 4.350%. June T-notes fell to a 3-week low on Tuesday, and the 10-year T-note yield rose to a 3-week high of 4.378%. Tuesday’s +3% jump in WTI crude oil prices boosted inflation expectations and weighed on T-notes. The 10-year breakeven inflation rate rose to a 14-month high of 2.472% on Tuesday. Also, better-than-expected US economic news on Tuesday, including Apr consumer confidence and the Apr Richmond Fed manufacturing survey, was bearish for T-note prices.
T-notes recovered from their worst level on Tuesday amid strong demand for the Treasury’s $44 billion auction of 7-year T-notes that had a bid-to-cover ratio of 2.51, above the 10-auction average of 2.50.
European government bond yields moved higher on Tuesday. The 10-year German bund yield rose to a 2-week high of 3.086% and finished up +3.4 bp to 3.067%. The 10-year UK gilt yield climbed to a 1-month high of 5.028% and finished up +3.4 bp to 5.006%.
The ECB's Mar 1-year CPI expectations rate rose to 4.0% from 2.5% in Feb, stronger than expectations of 2.8% and the highest figure in nearly 2.5 years. The Mar 3-year CPI expectations rate rose to 3.0% from 2.5% in Feb, stronger than expectations of 2.6% and the highest figure in three years.
Swaps are discounting an 11% chance of a +25 bp ECB rate hike at its next policy meeting on Thursday.
US Stock Movers
AI infrastructure stocks and OpenAI partners retreated on Tuesday after the Wall Street Journal reported that OpenAI recently missed its own revenue and new-user targets. ARM Holdings Plc (ARM) closed down more than -7% to lead losers in the Nasdaq 100, and Applied Digital (APLD), Applied Materials (AMAT), Sandisk (SNDK), CoreWeave (CRWV), and Vertiv Holdings (VRT) closed down more than -5%. Also, Broadcom (AVGO), Oracle (ORCL), and KLA Corp (KLAC) closed down more than -4%, and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Micron Technology (MU), Marvell Technology (MRVL), ASML Holding NV (ASML), Seagate Technology Holdings Plc (STX), and Lam Research (LRCX) closed down more than -3%. In addition, GE Vernova (GEV) and Western Digital (WDC) closed down more than -2%.
Mining stocks fell on Tuesday, amid the sell-off in gold, silver, and copper prices. Newmont Corp (NEM) and Coeur Mining (CDE) closed down more than -5%, and Anglogold Ashanti (AU), Southern Copper (SCCO), and Hecla Mining (HL) closed down more than -4%. Also, Barrick Mining (B) and Freeport McMoRan (FCX) closed down more than -3%.
Packaging stocks rose on Tuesday after Citigroup said Smurfit WestRock would raise US containerboard prices by $50 per ton, effective June 1. Packaging Corp of America (PKG) and International Paper (IP) closed up by more than +4%, and Smurfit Westrock Plc (SW) closed up more than +1%.
Rambus (RMBS) closed down more than -20% after reporting Q1 EPS of 55 cents, weaker than the consensus of 65 cents.
Spotify Technology SA (SPOT) closed down more than -12% after reporting Q1 operating income of $737 million, below the consensus of $787 million.
Alexandria Real Estate Equities (ARE) closed down more than -11% to lead losers in the S&P 500 after reporting Q1 revenue of $671.0 million, weaker than the consensus of $692.7 million.
Qiagen NV (QGEN) closed down more than -10% after forecasting full-year CER net sales of up +1% to +2%, well below the consensus of +4.62%.
Pentair Plc (PNR) closed down more than -10% after forecasting Q2 adjusted EPS of $1.47 to $1.50, below the consensus of $1.50.

AI Fears and Surging Crude Oil Prices Weigh on Stocks

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) today is down -0.38%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average ($DOWI) (DIA) is up +0.25%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) is down -0.78%. June E-mini S&P futures (ESM26) are down -0.44%, and June E-mini Nasdaq futures (NQM26) are down -0.83%.
Stock indexes are mostly lower today, led by losses in technology stocks amid concerns that the massive investment in artificial intelligence will not pay off. The Wall Street Journal reported that OpenAI recently failed to meet its goals for new users and sales, undercutting the shares of OpenAI partners and AI infrastructure stocks, including Nvidia, Oracle, Advanced Micro Devices, and CoreWeave.

On the positive side, Coca-Cola is up more than +5% to lead the Dow Jones Industrials higher after reporting stronger-than-expected Q1 net revenue.
Soaring crude oil prices are also boosting inflation expectations, pushing bond yields higher and weighing on stocks. WTI crude oil jumped to a 2-week high today after the New York Times reported that President Trump is not satisfied with Iran’s latest proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end the war, which includes postponing nuclear negotiations. Mr. Trump has said any deal must include agreements to curb Iran’s nuclear activities. The 10-year T-note yield climbed to a 3-week high of 4.38% today ahead of the start of the 2-day FOMC meeting, where the Fed is expected to keep monetary policy unchanged.
WTI crude oil prices (CLM26) are up by more than +3% today as the US and Iran are locked in a battle for control of the Strait of Hormuz, with both sides blocking the waterway to gain leverage during an extended ceasefire. The Strait of Hormuz remains essentially closed, threatening to deepen the global energy crisis. The ongoing blockade could exacerbate global oil and fuel shortages, as about a fifth of the world’s oil and liquefied natural gas transits through the strait. Goldman Sachs estimates that crude output in the Persian Gulf has been curtailed by about 14.5 million bpd, or more than 50%, so far in April, and that the current disruption has drawn down nearly 500 million bbl from global crude stockpiles, which could hit a billion bbl by June.
Kevin Warsh now appears to be on a glide path toward Senate approval as the new Fed Chair after Senator Thom Tillis said on Sunday that he dropped his opposition to the nomination. Mr. Tillis dropped his opposition after the US Justice Department dropped its criminal investigation into the Fed’s overspending on the renovation of its building, in line with Mr. Tillis’ demand. Mr. Tillis views the investigation into Fed Chair Powell as an attempt to force the Fed to cut interest rates. The Senate Banking Committee is due to vote on Mr. Warsh’s appointment this Wednesday and then send the nomination to the full Senate for a vote.
The markets are discounting a 0% chance for a +25 bp FOMC rate hike at the Tue-Wed policy meeting. The markets are expecting the FOMC to leave policy unchanged this week as it awaits further developments in oil prices and inflation.
Earnings season ramps up this week with several Magnificent Seven technology stocks reporting. Earnings results thus far have been supportive of stocks. As of today, 80% of the 150 S&P 500 companies that reported Q1 earnings have beaten estimates. Q1 S&P 500 earnings are projected to climb +12% y/y, according to Bloomberg Intelligence. Stripping out the technology sector, Q1 earnings are projected to increase around +3%, the weakest in two years.
Overseas stock markets are lower today. The Euro Stoxx 50 fell to a 2.5-week low and is down -0.35%. China's Shanghai Composite closed down -0.19%. Japan's Nikkei Stock 225 closed down -1.02%.
Interest Rates
June 10-year T-notes (ZNM6) today are down -7 ticks. The 10-year T-note yield is up +2.2 bp to 4.362%. June T-notes fell to a 3-week low today, and the 10-year T-note yield rose to a 3-week high of 4.378%. Today’s +3% jump in WTI crude oil prices is boosting inflation expectations and weighing on T-notes. The 10-year breakeven inflation rate rose to a 14-month high of 2.472% today. Also, supply pressures are undercutting T-note prices, as the Treasury will auction $30 billion of 2-year floating rate notes and $44 billion of 7-year T-notes later today.
European government bond yields are moving higher today. The 10-year German bund yield rose to a 2-week high of 3.086% and is up +4.3 bp to 3.076%. The 10-year UK gilt yield climbed to a 1-month high of 5.028% and is up +3.8 bp to 5.010%.
The ECB's Mar 1-year CPI expectations rate rose to 4.0% from 2.5% in Feb, stronger than expectations of 2.8% and the highest figure in nearly 2.5 years. The Mar 3-year CPI expectations rate rose to 3.0% from 2.5% in Feb, stronger than expectations of 2.6% and the highest figure in three years.
Swaps are discounting a 13% chance of a +25 bp ECB rate hike at its next policy meeting on Thursday.

AI infrastructure stocks and OpenAI partners are retreating today after the Wall Street Journal reported that OpenAI recently missed its own revenue and new-user targets. ARM Holdings Plc (ARM) is down more than -6% to lead losers in the Nasdaq 100, and Applied Materials (AMAT) is down more than -5%. Also, Lam Research and KLA Corp (KLAC) are down more than -4%, and Seagate Technology Holdings Plc (STX), Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Broadcom (AVGO), Western Digital (WDC), ASML Holding NV (ASML), Marvell Technology (MRVL), Oracle (ORCL), and CoreWeave (CRWV) are down more than -3%. In addition, Nvidia (NVDA) is down more than -2% to lead losers in the Dow Jones Industrials, and Vertiv Holdings (VRT), Qualcomm (QCOM), Applied Digital (APLD), and GE Vernova (GEV) are down more than -2%.
Rambus (RMBS) is down more than -17% after reporting Q1 EPS of 55 cents, weaker than the consensus of 65 cents.
Alexandria Real Estate Equities (ARE) is down more than -13% to lead losers in the S&P 500 after reporting Q1 revenue of $671.0 million, weaker than the consensus of $692.7 million.
Spotify Technology SA (SPOT) is down more than -10% after reporting Q1 operating income of $737 million, below the consensus of $787 million.
Pentair Plc (PNR) is down more than -9% after forecasting Q2 adjusted EPS of $1.47 to $1.50, below the consensus of $1.50.
Qiagen NV (QGEN) is down more than -7% after forecasting full-year CER net sales of up +1% to +2%, well below the consensus of +4.62%.

Noteworthy ETF Inflows: IWR, SNDK, VRT, HLT

Vertiv VRT delivered first-quarter 2026 adjusted earnings of $1.17 per share, up 82.8% year over year. The result beat the consensus estimate by 14.71%.
Net sales rose 30.1% year over year to $2.65 billion and came in slightly below the consensus level of about $2.657 billion. Acquisitions contributed 4% of the growth, and favorable forex contributed 3%.
Vertiv shares were up 6.09% at the time of writing this article.

Vertiv’s Regional Results Show a Split Growth Picture
The quarterly results reflected strong demand tied to data center deployments, with the Americas again serving as the growth engine. Americas posted revenue of $1.81 billion, up 53.1% year over year. Organic growth in the region was 44.3%, reflecting broad-based momentum across product lines tied to data center demand.
Asia Pacific (APAC) net sales were $513.7 million, up 14.9%, with 12.0% organic growth. Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) remained the weak spot, with net sales of $321.4 million down 20.3% and organic net sales down 29.4%. Management characterized the softness as tied to prior-period order dynamics and said improving pipeline activity supports expectations for a return to year-over-year sales growth in the back half of fiscal 2026.
Product revenues (which accounted for 79% of total revenues) increased 29.8% year over year to $2.09 billion. Service revenues (21% of total revenues) increased 31.4% year over year to $558.3 million.
VRT’s Q1 Operating Details
Selling, general, and administrative (SG&A) expenses increased 31.9% year over year to $456.7 million. As a percentage of sales, SG&A expenses increased 110 basis points (bps) year over year to 15.9%.
Profitability expanded sharply in the quarter as higher volume translated into operating leverage. Adjusted operating profit increased 63.6% year over year to $550.9 million. Management noted that tariff headwinds persisted, but actions and countermeasures supported positive price-cost dynamics even after including tariff impacts. Adjusted operating margin was 20.8%, up 430 bps from the year-ago level, helped by productivity gains.
Americas adjusted operating profit surged 88.8% year over year to $490.2 million. APAC’s adjusted operating profit increased 47.5% year over year to $67.4 million. However, EMEA’s adjusted operating profit decreased 32% year over year to $53.5 million.
VRT Balance Sheet Flexibility Supports Growth Plans
As of March 31, 2026, Vertiv’s cash and cash equivalents balance totaled $2.15 billion compared with $1.72 billion as of Dec. 31, 2025. Long-term debt, net, was $2.92 billion, and management highlighted net leverage of about 0.2X, underscoring financial flexibility.
The company also detailed a balance sheet and financing actions that included a $2.1 billion senior unsecured notes issuance and updates to its revolving credit facility, positioning Vertiv to support capacity investments and strategic activity.
Operating cash flow was $766.8 million in the quarter compared with $1 billion in the previous quarter. Adjusted free cash flow was $652.8 million compared with $909 million reported in the previous quarter.
Vertiv Lifts 2026 Targets as Demand Stays Robust
Management raised 2026 guidance, pointing to sustained market momentum and accelerating capacity expansion. Vertiv now expects net sales of $13.5 billion to $14.0 billion, with organic net sales growth of 29% to 31% versus 2025.
The company guided to an adjusted operating profit of $3.14 billion to $3.26 billion and adjusted operating margin of 22.8% to 23.8%. Adjusted earnings are projected between $6.30 per share and $6.40 per share (50% to 52% year-over-year growth). Adjusted free cash flow is expected to be between $2.1 billion and $2.3 billion.
For the second quarter of 2026, Vertiv expects net sales of $3.25 billion to $3.45 billion (20% to 24% year-over-year growth) and adjusted earnings of $1.37 to $1.43 per share (44% to 51% year-over-year growth). Operating profit is expected between $690 million and $730 million with an operating margin in the 20.7%-21.7% range. VRT’s guidance reflected confidence in demand and execution as it continues investing in capacity, services and technology, supported by recent strategic acquisitions.

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) on Wednesday closed up +1.05%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average ($DOWI) (DIA) closed up +0.69%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) closed up +1.73%. June E-mini S&P futures (ESM26) rose +0.99%, and June E-mini Nasdaq futures (NQM26) rose +1.76%.
Stock indexes settled higher on Wednesday, with the Nasdaq 100 posting a new record high. Stocks found support today as President Trump, after the markets closed on Tuesday, extended his ceasefire with Iran for three to five days. Strong corporate earnings results also lifted stocks on Wednesday after GE Vernova, Boeing, and Masco reported better-than-expected Q1 earnings. In addition, strength in chipmakers and AI-infrastructure stocks boosted the overall market on Wednesday.

Planned talks between the US and Iran were called off on Tuesday, and President Trump said the US naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz will remain. Iran said it will not reopen the strait or restart peace talks until the US blockade ends.
WTI crude oil prices (CLM26) rose more than +3% on Wednesday as the Strait of Hormuz remains essentially closed, threatening to deepen the global energy crisis. Iran seized two ships on Wednesday in the strait for “endangering maritime security,” and the UK Navy said Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps gunboats fired upon two other cargo ships. The blockade could exacerbate global oil and fuel shortages, as about a fifth of the world’s oil and liquefied natural gas transits through the strait. Iran has recently been able to export crude oil during the war, with exports of about 1.7 million bpd in March.
US MBA mortgage applications rose +7.9% in the week ended April 17, with the purchase mortgage sub-index up +10.1% and the refinancing sub-index up +5.8%. The average 30-year fixed rate mortgage fell -7 bp to 6.35% from 6.42% in the prior week.
Earnings season continues this week. So far, 82% of the 71 S&P 500 companies that reported Q1 earnings have beaten estimates. Q1 S&P 500 earnings are projected to climb +12% y/y, according to Bloomberg Intelligence. Stripping out the technology sector, Q1 earnings are projected to increase around +3%, the weakest in two years.
The markets are discounting a 1% chance for a +25 bp FOMC rate hike at the April 28-29 policy meeting.
Overseas stock markets settled mixed on Wednesday. The Euro Stoxx 50 fell to a 1-week low and closed down -0.41%. China's Shanghai Composite climbed to a 5-week high and closed up +0.52%. Japan's Nikkei Stock 225 rallied to an all-time high and closed up +0.40%.
Interest Rates
June 10-year T-notes (ZNM6) on Wednesday closed down -0.5 of a tick. The 10-year T-note yield was unchanged at 4.292%. T-notes gave up early gains on Wednesday after WTI crude oil prices rose by more than 3%, which raised inflation expectations and is bearish for T-notes. Also, Wednesday’s stock rally reduced some safe-haven demand for T-notes.
T-notes initially moved higher on Wednesday on an increase in safe-haven demand after Iranian gunboats fired on two ships and seized two ships on Wednesday in the Strait of Hormuz, potentially leading to escalation of the US-Iran war. Also, solid demand for the Treasury’s $13 billion auction of 20-year T-bonds was supportive of T-notes, as the auction had a bid-to-cover ratio of 2.68, above the 10-auction average of 2.65.
European government bond yields moved higher on Wednesday. The 10-year German bund yield rose +0.5 bp to 3.008%. The 10-year UK gilt yield rose to a 2-week high of 4.914% and finished up by +2.5 bp to 4.909%.
The Eurozone Apr consumer confidence index fell -4.2 to a 3.25-year low of -20.6, weaker than expectations of -17.2.
The German government today cut its 2026 GDP forecast to 0.5% from 1.0%, due to the effects of the US-Iran war.
ECB Governing Council member Martins Kazaks said there is no urgency for the ECB to raise interest rates from 2%, as the current data does not yet justify a move.
ECB Governing Council member Gediminas Simkus said the ECB shouldn't raise interest rates at its April meeting, but he can't rule out a rate hike later this year.
UK Mar CPI rose +3.3% y/y, right on expectations. Mar core CPI rose +3.1% y/y, weaker than expectations of +3.2% y/y.
Swaps are discounting a 13% chance of a +25 bp ECB rate hike at its next policy meeting on April 30.
US Stock Movers
The Magnificent Seven technology stocks moved higher on Wednesday, a supportive factor for the overall market. Alphabet (GOOGL), Apple (AAPL), Amazon.com (AMZN), and Microsoft (MSFT) closed up more than +2%. Also, Nvidia (NVDA) closed up more than +1%, Meta Platforms (META) closed up +0.88%, and Tesla (TSLA) closed up +0.28%.
Chipmakers and AI-infrastructure stocks rallied on Wednesday, boosting the broader market. ARM Holdings Plc (ARM) closed up more than +12% to lead gainers in the Nasdaq 100, and Micron Technology (MU) and Sandisk (SNDK) closed up more than +8%. Also, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) closed up more than +6%, and Broadcom (AVGO) closed up more than +5%. In addition, Marvell Technology (MRVL) closed up more than +4%, and Seagate Technology Holdings Plc (STX) closed up more than +3%. Finally, Lam Research (LRCX), Applied Materials (AMAT), and ON Semiconductor (ON) closed up more than +2%.
Cryptocurrency-exposed stocks rallied on Wednesday as Bitcoin (^BTCUSD) rose more than +4% to a 2.5-month high. Strategy (MSTR) is up more than +9%, and Galaxy Digital Holdings (GLXY) closed up more than +7%. Also, Riot Platforms (RIOT) closed up more than +6%, and Coinbase Global (COIN) and MARA Holdings (MARA) closed up more than +5%.
Credit reporting agencies retreated on Wednesday after the US government announced steps to lower the cost of credit scores. Equifax (EFX) closed down more than -7%, Fair Isaac (FICO) closed down more than -6%, and TransUnion (TRU) closed down more than -4%.
GE Vernova (GEV) closed up more than +13% to lead gainers in the S&P 500 after reporting Q1 revenue of $9.34 billion, above the consensus of $9.11 billion.
Masco (MAS) closed up more than +10% after reporting Q1 net sales of $1.92 billion, stronger than the consensus of $1.84 billion.
Boston Scientific (BSX) closed up more than +8% after reporting Q1 net sales of $5.20 billion, stronger than the consensus of $5.17 billion.
Intuitive Surgical (ISRG) closed up more than +7% after reporting Q1 adjusted EPS of $2.50, better than the consensus of $2.10, and raising its full-year adjusted gross margin forecast to 67.5%-68.5% from a prior estimate of 67%-68%, above the consensus of 67.4%.
Boeing (BA) closed up more than +5% to lead gainers in the Dow Jones Industrials after reporting Q1 negative adjusted free cash flow of -$1.45 billion, smaller than the consensus of -$2.61 billion.
Twilio (TWLO) closed up more than +3% after Bank of America Global Research double-upgraded the stock to buy from underperform with a price target of $190.
UnitedHealth Group (UNH) closed up more than +2% after Argus Research upgraded the stock to buy from hold with a price target of $400.
Sonoco Products (SON) closed down more than -16% after reporting Q1 net sales of $1.68 billion, weaker than the consensus of $1.70 billion, and saying it sees full-year adjusted EPS at the low end of a $5.80 to $6.20 range, below the consensus of $5.92.
TE Connectivity (TEL) closed down more than -9% to lead losers in the S&P 500 after reporting Q2 net sales of $4.74 billion, below the consensus of $4.77 billion.
United Airlines Holdings (UAL) closed down more than -5% after cutting its full-year adjusted EPS estimate to $7.00 to $11.00 from a previous estimate of $12.00 to $14.00, the midpoint below the consensus of $9.08.
NVR Inc (NVR) closed down more than -4% after reporting Q1 EPS of $67.76, weaker than the consensus of $77.01.
Vertiv Holdings (VRT) closed down more than -2% after forecasting Q2 net sales of $3.25 billion to $3.45 billion, the midpoint below the consensus of $3.40 billion.

Stocks added to their gains today after Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency reported that Iran's UN representative said, "We have received some sign" the US is ready to break the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, without elaborating. He added that "as soon as they break this blockade, I think the next round of the negotiations will take place in Islamabad."
