The RAV4 model, with hybrid variants that make up about half of Toyota’s sales, is America's top-selling SUV.
Toyota aims to lower hydrogen costs by promoting its use in commercial vehicles. It plans to sell its hydrogen-powered units externally, encouraging broader adoption beyond its own fleet. By increasing overall hydrogen demand, the company expects economies of scale to drive down production costs.
However, Toyota expects its operating income for fiscal 2026 to decline year over year due to material prices, the impact of the forex rate and tariffs imposed by the U.S. government on vehicle and vehicle parts imports. Pretax profit is also expected to decline. Thus, the stock warrants a cautious stance.

Morgan Stanley’s shares have outperformed the Zacks Financial - Investment Bank industry over the year-to-date period (+28.8% vs. +28.7%). The company’s third-quarter 2025 results were aided by robust investment banking (“IB”) and trading performances. Morgan Stanley’s efforts to focus on wealth and asset management operations, inorganic expansion initiatives, and strategic alliances will keep aiding the top line.
The performance of the IB business is expected to be driven by a strong pipeline in the near term. However, expenses will remain elevated due to business expansion efforts. The uncertainty of the performance of the capital markets is a key near-term concern.

(RTTNews) - Toyota Motor Corp. (TM), Wednesday announced its all-new 6th generation RAV4 with a bold redesign, upgraded hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, improved handling, new technology, and refined comfort.
The lineup includes Core (LE, XLE Premium, Limited), Rugged (Woodland), and Sport (SE, XSE, GR SPORT) designs with stiffer chassis and revised suspension enhance ride quality. For the first time, the RAV4 will offer only electrified powertrains—Hybrid or Plug-in Hybrid—eliminating gas-only options.
Inside, the SUV gains a smarter layout with a new center stack, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and upgraded seating options. Exterior styling emphasizes SUV proportions, rugged stance, and new LED lighting, with 10 color choices and exclusive finishes for select trims.
The 2026 RAV4 debuts Toyota's latest multimedia system with 5G connectivity, improved voice control, a customizable interface, and a built-in Drive Recorder. All models come standard with Toyota Safety Sense 4.0, enhanced driver assistance, and the new Arene software platform.
Production uses the TNGA-K platform with improved noise insulation, suspension tuning, and an advanced braking system. AWD versions offer enhanced traction and stability.
The Hybrid models will be available in U.S. dealerships from December 2025, whereas PHEV models will be available in spring 2026.
Currently, TM is trading at $204.01, up 1.02 percent on the New York Stock Exchange.

Toyota Motor Introduces All-New 6th Generation RAV4

CoreWeave and Nebius are racing to expand their data center footprint, and taking on debt to do it.
The arrival of artificial intelligence (AI) created tremendous demand for computing power. There's such a shortage today, companies specializing in this area are seeing incredible sales growth. Among these businesses are Nebius Group (NASDAQ: NBIS) and CoreWeave (NASDAQ: CRWV).
Nebius shares have surged more than 300% this year through the week ending Oct. 17. CoreWeave went public at the end of March around $40 per share, and since then, the stock has more than tripled.

The tech spending on artificial intelligence shows no sign of slowing, creating a tailwind for CoreWeave and Nebius. But is one of these AI infrastructure specialists a superior investment over the other?
Let's dive into each company to find out.
CoreWeave's astounding AI ascent
CoreWeave was once focused on cryptocurrency mining. Consequently, it accumulated computing capacity before the company decided to pivot into charging for use of its AI-optimized infrastructure.
The prescient move transformed CoreWeave. With organizations rushing to acquire more AI processing power, the company's second-quarter sales skyrocketed to $1.2 billion from $395.4 million last year.
Among the businesses gobbling up CoreWeave's services is OpenAI, which expanded its previous $11.9 billion commitment to $22.4 billion in September. Other marquee businesses buying up CoreWeave computing capacity include Toyota Motor and Microsoft.
Its success led CoreWeave to forecast full-year sales between $5.2 billion and $5.4 billion. This outlook is a jaw-dropping increase from the $1.9 billion generated in 2024.
Even so, sales could rise higher. The company's remaining performance obligations as of Q2 were $30.1 billion, nearly double the $16.2 billion it had a year ago.
However, this success comes at a cost. To meet the enormous AI demand, CoreWeave invested in expanding its footprint of data centers. This resulted in operating expenses of $1.2 billion in Q2, up from $317.7 million in the previous year.
To finance its costly expansion, CoreWeave accumulated massive debt. It exited Q2 with more than $10 billion in debt on its balance sheet.
The company then added to this sum in July, when it closed a $1.8 billion senior notes offering, as well as a $2.6 billion secured debt financing facility. All of this indebtedness makes CoreWeave look like a house of cards that could collapse if it can't keep up its sales growth.
Nebius Group's AI success
Like CoreWeave, Nebius Group is a provider of high-performance cloud computing infrastructure for AI systems. So it's not surprising Nebius is experiencing a similar financial outcome to its competitor.
The company's Q2 sales soared 625% year over year to $105.1 million. Nebius is poised for further sales growth in the near future. In September, it signed a multiyear deal with Microsoft to deliver dedicated computing capacity starting this year.
And like CoreWeave, Nebius is rushing to expand its data centers. As a result, its capital expenditures rose 49% year over year to $91.5 million in Q2.
Nebius turned to debt to finance this expansion. It exited Q2 with nearly $1 billion in debt, a dramatic increase from a mere $6.1 million at the end of 2024. In addition, last month it closed a senior notes offering and issued more stock for a combined $4.2 billion in gross proceeds.
At this point, the company's financial position is starting to look similar to CoreWeave's. Nebius is increasing its debt load to fuel business expansion.
This volatile mix could reach a tipping point if sales slow, although given the stupendous growth the AI market is experiencing, that may not come to pass for a few years.
Weighing an investment in CoreWeave or Nebius Group stock
The current AI gold rush has created unprecedented revenue opportunities for Nebius and CoreWeave. In the coming years, the AI industry is projected to grow from $255 billion in 2025 to an astonishing $1.7 trillion by 2031.
But between the two, CoreWeave looks like the better investment right now. One key factor here is share price valuation. A good way to assess this is to look at each company's forward price-to-sales (P/S) ratio.
This metric measures how much investors are prepared to pay for every dollar of projected revenue over the next 12 months. Given the impending income from Nebius' deal with Microsoft, understanding how these future sales might impact stock value is particularly insightful.
The chart reveals CoreWeave has a substantially lower P/S multiple, indicating it is the better value. That said, neither stock is cheap.
Moreover, since both are piling up on debt to fuel sales growth, this risky situation means CoreWeave stock isn't for the faint of heart. Consider an investment only if you have a high risk tolerance, and ideally, after the stock price dips.

Cream of the crop
Let’s start this list off with companies that are essentially no-brainers when it comes to investing in driverless vehicles, before we step into some of the more "out of the box" ideas.
Alphabet’s (NASDAQ: GOOG) Waymo. Google’s parent company, Alphabet, operates Waymo, which is largely considered a leader in the driverless vehicle space offering a Level 4 robotaxi service in several U.S. cities. Alphabet checks a lot of boxes, including: immense financial backing, technological expertise, and a head start as Waymo has tested fully driverless vehicles on public roads as early as 2020.
Amazon’s (NASDAQ: AMZN) Zoox. Amazon acquired driverless vehicle startup Zoox and continues to develop fully autonomous and bidirectional electric vehicles (EVs) designed to thrive with urban ride-hailing services. Similar to Alphabet, Amazon has a significant resource advantage but it also has an intriguing tie-in for synergy considering its driverless products and technology could eventually be integrated with its last-mile logistics network.
Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) has turned itself into a juggernaut business with an economic moat built around its leadership in graphics processing units (GPUs), hardware, software, and networking tools. Not only does its business expertise and innovation place it as a leader in the developing world of artificial intelligence, Morningstar predicts the company’s automotive business alone to expand at a 20% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the next decade to nearly $11 billion in 2035. Nvidia’s DRIVE platform is used by major automakers such as Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Lucid, BYD, and Toyota, among others.
Key pieces to the puzzle
The next companies offer investors perhaps less of a full-driverless solution, but remain a key part of the puzzle.
Mobileye Global (NASDAQ: MBLY) should be looked at as a critical partner to development of robotaxis thanks to its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and assorted driverless vehicle technologies. With solutions such as Supervision, Chauffeur, Drive, and EyeQ, the company can offer end-to-end driverless vehicle solutions that revolve around improving safety, productivity, and vehicle utilization. ZEEKR announced it would use Mobileye as its launch partner for ADAS, and Mobileye has also tallied design wins from automakers such as Porsche, among others.
Uber Technologies (NYSE: UBER) can also throw its hat into the driverless vehicle universe with its recent global robotaxi program designed exclusively for its namesake ride-hailing platform. Launching late in 2026 the program will combine Lucid’s vehicle architecture of its newly launched Gravity crossover EV with Nuro’s Nuro Driver Level 4 autonomy system, all backed by Uber’s vast global network and fleet management systems. The current plan calls for Uber to deploy 20,000 or more Lucid vehicles equipped with Nuro Driver over the next six years.
Hesai Group (NASDAQ: HSAI) has its hands in many things driverless thanks to a leading position in lidar solutions and technology. Its products enable a long list of applications that include passenger and commercial vehicle ADAS, pure autonomous vehicles, robotics, and even last-mile delivery robots. The company’s expertise in lidar technology makes it a key partner for many automotive OEMs and the company noted a number of new design wins with 20 models from nine leading automakers, which will help drive the company’s top line higher in the near term.
Outside of the box idea
QuantumScape (NYSE: QS) may seem like an odd choice for this list, as the company is solely focused on developing the next generation of solid-state lithium-metal batteries for use in EVs. However, it’s highly likely that driverless vehicles will be electric as the platforms are simply much more advanced than historical internal combustion engine counterparts, and many of the EVs are being developed with the necessary electrical infrastructure for sensors, computers, powertrains, as well as offering lower running costs for high-mileage fleets. QuantumScape is attempting to revolutionize the battery industry with solid-state batteries -- which has yet to be achieved at commercial volumes -- that will significantly improve safety, range, charge time, and cost all in one package.
Remember the names
The driverless vehicle industry is poised to boom over the coming decades, and could radically transform transportation. The good news for investors is that this boom won’t have only one winner as many companies are positioned to thrive as the industry expands and navigates choppy waters of regulations and scaling the business. Savvy investors would be wise to keep their eye on a long list of companies developing technologies for driverless vehicles, and spread out investments to a number of smaller positions to offset some of the risk involved in investing in such a young and uncertain industry.

After years of delays, Tesla TSLA has finally rolled out new “affordable” models. But these are just more affordable versions of its popular Model 3 and Model Y. The move comes as the EV pioneer tries to revive demand and defend its turf amid rising competition and the loss of U.S. EV tax incentives. But are these new models really the game-changer Tesla needs—or just a short-term patch?
A Cheaper Entry Into Tesla’s Lineup
The new Model 3 Standard and Model Y Standard start at $36,990 and $39,990, respectively, making them the cheapest Tesla cars so far. That’s about $5,000-$5,500 less than the “Premium” versions, which previously held the title of Tesla’s most affordable options.
To achieve these lower price points, Tesla has stripped out several comfort and tech features. Gone are Autosteer, the rear passenger touchscreen, seat heating and the LED light bar in the Model Y. Both vehicles now have manual side mirrors, textile seats (with optional vegan leather in the Model 3) and fewer speakers.
While these changes trim costs, the cars still deliver solid performance, each offering a range above 300 miles on a 69-kWh battery. Deliveries of these vehicles are expected between November and December.
Why Tesla Needed This Move
After a strong third quarter — fueled by buyers rushing to secure the now-expired $7,500 U.S. EV tax credit — Tesla faces a much tougher market. EV sales growth is slowing, and competitors in China and Europe are churning out cheaper models with increasingly competitive tech.
By launching “standard” variants, Tesla aims to make its vehicles more accessible and offset declining sales from its aging lineup. However, the strategy also underscores the company’s pivot away from its long-promised $25,000 EV, once dubbed the “Model 2.” That project was abruptly canceled last year.
Not That Affordable
For budget-conscious buyers, these new trims might make Tesla cars a little more attractive. But there’s a catch—while the cars are cheaper, are they really that cheap? We don’t think so. At nearly $40,000, they still cost significantly more than quite a few all-electric and hybrid alternatives.
Tesla’s new “affordable” models offer a welcome price break and could give sales a short-term boost. But without a true low-cost EV in the pipeline, the company risks losing ground in the mass market it once dominated.
Tesla has indeed made its cars less expensive—but not necessarily affordable enough to win over mainstream buyers.
Also, cheaper versions of existing models could affect sales of higher-margin vehicles. In the longer term, these price cuts will not directly address the real threat from Chinese EV makers, who are flooding global markets with sub-$30,000 electric cars packed with features.
Competitor Check
Automakers worldwide are realizing that affordable EVs are key to increasing adoption.
Chinese EV giant BYD Co Ltd BYDDY is making headlines with its low-priced electric cars, leveraging its vertically integrated supply chain to keep costs down. BYD’s cheapest model, the Seagull, starts under $10,000. Earlier this year, BYD upgraded the Seagull with advanced driving features, making it an even stronger competitor in the affordable EV market. For Tesla, BYD’s aggressive pricing is a clear signal that winning mass-market buyers will take more than just stripped-down trims.
Japanese auto biggie Toyota TM is also making a push for affordability in China, the world’s largest EV market. In March, Toyota launched its cheapest EV in China, the bZ3X, priced at around $15,000—roughly 30% cheaper than the bZ3 sedan. Designed as a compact electric SUV, the bZ3X competes directly with budget-friendly Chinese EVs, including models from BYD. This move represents a significant shift for Toyota, highlighting its commitment to gaining a stronger foothold in the growing EV sector.
U.S. legacy automaker Ford F is also betting big on lower-cost electric vehicles with its new Ford Universal EV Platform. The first model will be a midsize, four-door electric pickup, expected to start at around $30,000. Ford plans to produce this vehicle at the Louisville Assembly Complex in Kentucky, backed by a $5 billion investment that will create nearly 4,000 jobs. Deliveries of the model are slated to begin in 2027. Ford’s plan signals growing competition in the United States for affordable EVs.

Are Tesla's "Affordable" Models Truly Cheap and Can They Fuel Demand?

(RTTNews) - Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd (S19.F,5713.T) and Japanese auto major Toyota Motor Corp. (7203.T,TYT.L,TM) on Wednesday announced a joint development agreement for the mass production of cathode materials for all-solid-state batteries to be installed in battery electric vehicles, or BEVs.
All-solid-state batteries, a next-generation battery technology, offer a smaller size, higher output, and longer life compared to current liquid-based batteries that utilise electrolyte solutions.
Both companies will continue to develop various areas including improving the performance, quality, and safety of cathode materials for these batteries, and to reduce costs for mass production.
The firms said they aim to achieve the practical application of all-solid-state batteries in BEVs, thereby contributing to the creation of a carbon-neutral society.
The companies expect the deal to advance growth in both firms, as Toyota aims for a market launch of BEVs with all-solid-state batteries in 2027-2028.
Since 2021, Sumitomo Metal Mining and Toyota have been collaborating on joint research into cathode materials for all-solid-state batteries, addressing challenges such as cathode material degradation during repeated charging and discharging cycles.
Using Sumitomo Metal Mining's proprietary powder synthesis technology, the two companies have now developed a highly durable cathode material suitable for all-solid-state batteries.
In the Tokyo market, the Sumitomo shares were trading 5.19% higher at 5,130 Japanese Yen, and Toyota shares were trading 0.30% lower at 3,013 Japanese Yen.

It expired at midnight on Tuesday night, and the U.S. auto industry is bracing for a slump in demand. Without the additional $7,500 to make EVs more affordable, Ford (NYSE: F) CEO Jim Farley expects that demand for the battery-powered vehicles will be cut in half.

But it's not all bad news for automakers, even EV makers. Here are three stocks of EV manufacturers that could still succeed without the government incentives.
The EV maker that's not priced like one
Even without additional tax incentives, Tesla's (NASDAQ: TSLA) stock could still be a winner.
That's because shares of the world's largest EV manufacturer seem largely immune to sales declines. In first-quarter 2025, the company delivered 336,681 vehicles, a 13% year-over-year decline (and its first year-over-year delivery decline ever). In second-quarter 2025, the year-over-year decline was even worse, with 384,122 vehicle deliveries, down 13.5% from the prior-year quarter. Meanwhile, its latest release, the Cybertruck, represents a minimal number of those sales (fewer than 10,000 each quarter). In spite of that, the company's shares are up 14% year to date, and its valuation hasn't suffered at all.
The company's trailing price-to-sales (P/S) ratio of 17.4 is orders of magnitude higher than automakers that sell millions of cars each quarter. That includes Toyota (NYSE: TM), which trades at 0.78x trailing sales, and Volkswagen (OTC: VWAGY), which trades at a minuscule 0.16x. In fact, Tesla's P/S ratio today is even higher than its five-year average of 13.4x.
Tesla's stock price resilience even in the face of sales declines likely indicates that investors are placing more value on the company's bets on future technologies, like self-driving robotaxis and autonomous humanoid robots, than on its continued dominance in the now-crowded electric vehicle market. Sales declines resulting from a loss of the tax credit are unlikely to change that pattern.
The EV maker that can't be affected
Electric vehicle maker Nio (NYSE: NIO) won't lose a single sale because of the tax credit expiration. That's because it doesn't sell its cars in the U.S. to begin with.
Nio is one of the Chinese electric vehicle makers founded by William Li, and the bulk of its sales are in its native China, but it is starting to sell its vehicles in European markets as well. It's already established sales and service networks in Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, and just announced plans to expand into seven additional European countries, including Austria and Poland.
Because demand for EVs is stronger in China and Europe than in the U.S., Nio has a distinct advantage over companies for which the U.S. is their largest market. Additionally, Nio has been aggressively competing with its rivals on price. It's offering its new Onvo L90 electric SUV for just $37,000, or a mere $25,000 with a subscription to its battery-as-a-service (BaaS) plan. This plan allows users to swap out depleted battery packs for full ones without needing to wait for them to charge.
That's a competitive price on an in-demand model without any tax credit required.
The EV maker that barely makes EVs
Of all the major car companies, Toyota was perhaps the most reluctant to offer all-electric models. It preferred to double down on its successful hybrid technology, which is now available across most of its vehicle lineup. In fact, the latest models of the Toyota Sienna minivan and the Camry sedan are hybrid-only in the U.S. market. Hybrid vehicles were never eligible for the EV tax credit, so the bulk of Toyota's lineup should be unaffected.
Toyota did eventually enter the U.S. EV market in late 2022 with its bZ SUV, but it's sold only about 35,000 of them in the U.S. since then, including 18,570 in 2024. Because they were manufactured in Japan, however, they only qualified for the tax credit if they were leased and not bought. Toyota has announced plans to ramp up its U.S. EV manufacturing capacity by manufacturing two fully electric three-row SUVs at its massive Kentucky plant. Slumping U.S. EV sales could complicate that plan, but in terms of existing sales, the company will barely be affected by the tax credit expiration at all.
Toyota's share price is down slightly year to date, in contrast to most other major automaker stocks. It also sports a 3.2% dividend yield, making it a comparatively safe bet for capital preservation in an uncertain industry.
