Dogecoin (CRYPTO: DOGE) might be one of the most volatile assets on planet Earth. It has periods where it skyrockets quickly, then comes crashing down. The highest price this meme coin ever reached was just under $0.74 in May 2021, during the cryptocurrency market boom in the spring of that year. It has generally been in a downward spiral since that record level. Dogecoin is now trading 82% below the peak.
But that doesn't prevent its biggest bulls from setting lofty targets for next year. Can Dogecoin reach the $1 mark in 2026? It's possible, but not probable.

Hype is what influences Dogecoin's price
Markets these days are structured totally differently than in the past. Dogecoin is proof of this, as having a strong community of supporters might be the only thing keeping it relevant.
Dogecoin was created as a joke alternative to Bitcoin, with no true purpose other than that. But as an early entrant to the crypto world, it attracted fans that have carried the price. Nonetheless, Dogecoin's price moves based on short bursts of heightened interest. But what goes up has typically come down fast, which becomes clear when we look at Dogecoin's historical price chart.
Thinking through a best-case scenario makes things crystal clear
If Dogecoin's price does reach $1, it would imply a market cap of $152 billion. That is not insignificant. At that market cap, Dogecoin would rival the valuations of companies like Sony, Capital One, and Unilever.
But what would it take to get to this point? To put it simply, there would need to be an unprecedented surge in demand for Dogecoin tokens. This would introduce immense amounts of capital, which could rapidly drive up the price.
There are already Dogecoin spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on the market. These started launching more than a year ago. We're past the initial phase of excitement, so this catalyst has already played out and is now in the rearview mirror.
Perhaps Tesla Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk will post on social media site X (formerly Twitter) that he will deeply integrate Dogecoin into the operations of his various businesses. Or maybe he will announce a new venture whose primary goal is to boost adoption of Dogecoin. This could help jump-start the price.
Macro conditions might result in market exuberance. Additionally, Dogecoin's developer community might come up with some game-changing innovations that make the blockchain more compelling for a variety of use cases.
Even if all of these factors happened in the coming months, an outcome I view as having almost no chance of happening, Dogecoin still would probably fail to hit $1 next year.
Investors should avoid short-term price targets
While Dogecoin's bulls want the token's price to soar 673% during the next year to get to $1 before the end of 2026, this outcome just isn't in the cards without what amounts to a miracle. It's smart to temper expectations. Dogecoin's best days might be behind it.
And when it comes to having the right mindset, investors shouldn't look to buy stocks or cryptocurrencies with only a 12-month time horizon. The best strategy is to focus on the long term, paying attention to the quality of the assets in question instead of trying to predict price movements, a tempting activity that is largely a waste of time.
Dogecoin remains a dangerous gamble. If you're looking to take on more risk in your portfolio -- within reason -- there are lots of growth stocks to choose from. And in the world of crypto, Bitcoin is the best digital asset to own.

Shares of Tesla shares have gained +11.3% over the past year against the Zacks Automotive - Domestic industry’s gain of +13.9%. The company set a new delivery record in Q3, but much of it came from buyers rushing to claim the expiring $7,500 EV tax credit. With incentives withdrawn and competition from Chinese EV makers intensifying, Q4 deliveries are expected to drop.
Automotive margins are expected to be under pressure. Still, there are a few bright spots. The Energy Generation & Storage unit is thriving, and the Supercharger network continues to expand. Tesla’s robotaxi service, launched in June, is currently operational in Austin and San Francisco. Encouragingly, Tesla recently started driverless robotaxi tests.
That said, while the company’s big pivot into artificial intelligence (AI), autonomous driving and robotics bode well, these projects could take years to yield meaningful results. For now, the stock warrants a neutral stance.

Sony’s shares have outperformed the Zacks Audio Video Production industry over the past year (+26.5% vs. +24.4%). The company’s performance is driven by continued strength in the Game & Network Services (G&NS), Music and Imaging & Sensing Solutions (I&SS) units amid softness in the Pictures and Entertainment, Technology & Services (ET&S).
Rising PS engagements buoy G&NS, while Music rides on higher streaming in Recorded Music and Publishing. I&SS is led by higher image sensor sales for mobiles and cameras. Stronger image sensor sales and tighter cost control by cutting low-profit areas and focusing resources on key priorities are driving profitability in fiscal 2025.
The sports business gained momentum with the STATSports buyout. Combining its data with Hawk-Eye and KinaTrax is likely to deliver top-tier sports analytics and drive overall growth. However, business volatility in the second half, along with a slowdown in the imaging market, remains a worry.

Shares of Tredegar have underperformed the Zacks Chemical - Plastic industry over the past year (-1.6% vs. +23.8%). This microcap company with a market capitalization of $261.48 million is facing risks which include elevated corporate costs, high customer concentration in PE Films, rising working capital, and volatile earnings, historically marked by large impairments and restructuring charges.
Nevertheless, Tredegar posted a strong Q3 2025 rebound, with Aluminum Extrusions EBITDA surging 172% YoY on higher volumes, improved pricing and cost controls. Net income swung to $7.1 million vs. a $3.4 million loss in Q3 2024, supported by stronger operating cash flow and reduced interest burden.
Despite 50% aluminum tariffs, the company maintained its market position through pricing flexibility and posted 34% YoY volume growth in specialty products. PE Films remained a stable cash contributor, with cost initiatives underway for 2026. Net debt dropped from $54.8 million to $36.2 million, aided by divestiture proceeds, improving financial flexibility.

CVD Equipment’s shares have gained +9.3% over the past six months against the Zacks Manufacturing - General Industrial industry’s gain of +10.5%. This microcap company with a market capitalization of $21.30 million is positioned for long-term growth in advanced materials for aerospace, silicon carbide (SiC) power electronics and EV batteries, supported by differentiated CVD/CVI platforms.
Aerospace adoption of ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) is a key tailwind, with CVV’s systems embedded in propulsion programs and supported by repeat orders. If I asked you which company was the "pick-and-shovel" player in the tech industry, you'd probably guess Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (NYSE: TSM). It makes sense; it's the largest chip manufacturer on the planet. But it's not; there's a company that even Taiwan Semiconductor needs for its own proverbial picks and shovels.

It's called ASML (NASDAQ: ASML), and it has built a silent monopoly over the very root of the tech supply chain.
Going Dutch
Based in the Netherlands, ASML produces extreme ultraviolet (EUV) and deep ultraviolet (DUV) lithography machines. These machines, which run as much as $400 million new and are roughly the size of a bus, etch the patterns on semiconductor wafers that allow them to function in chips.
Lithography machines are used by every semiconductor manufacturer, and ASML has a near-monopoly on the industry, with 90% market share, per industry estimates. ASML does have a total monopoly on EUV systems, as its lithography industry peers Nikon and Canon only provide older KrF or krypton fluoride and I-line lithography.
If you want to make the most advanced chips in the world, you need ASML lithography machines. It took the company 30 years to develop its technology, and producing those machines is complicated, to say the least. So it's likely to be some time before anyone else comes out with a competitor.
Genuine monopolies like this are exceedingly rare. Let's take a look at ASML's financials to see the benefits of being the only game in town for ourselves.

As big as it is, ASML is not a fast-growth stock, but it is a steady growth stock capable of providing security for your portfolio. For Q3 2025, ASML's revenue totaled over 7 billion euros, flat from Q3 2024. Similarly, gross margin for the quarter remained relatively flat from the year-ago quarter. While net income and earnings per share got a bit of a bump over the prior year. However, more importantly, the company appears to have a substantial backlog, which should sustain revenue for the foreseeable future, as indicated by the table below.

Now, on to valuation, which is a little confusing at first glance. ASML trades at a P/E of 40, which sounds high, especially compared to Canon at 24. But remember, ASML is one of one in the world of advanced lithography.
Canon and Nikon only compete with it in the lower-grade, older types of lithography. So, considering that, and that Nikon is trading at just shy of 65, ASML's valuation looks much better to me.
Couple that with the fact that ASML counts among its customers Intel, Samsung, and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing. Taiwan Semiconductor alone controls a 71% share of the global semiconductor manufacturing market, while Samsung occupies the No. 2 position with 8% market share.
And that means all the companies that outsource some or all of their semiconductor production to Taiwan Semiconductor are also reliant on ASML's lithography machines. Those include Apple, Sony, and Nvidia.
ASML is the beginning of the tech hardware supply chain. The materials to manufacture semiconductors can come from various places, but the machines needed to turn those materials into the finished product come from just one: ASML. And the entire tech ecosystem, from chip manufacturers to designers to the software developers who use the hardware, relies on ASML.
So is it overvalued? In a way, I suppose it is. It's in a class all its own, so ASML is both the most overvalued and undervalued company of its type. Make of that what you will, but by my math, ASML is essentially a silent monopoly behind the entire tech industry.
Picks and shovels for the silicon gold rush
As mentioned, ASML makes the picks and shovels for the new gold rush in the shape of its EUV lithography machines. Everybody across the whole technology industry is reliant on them in some way. And I only see ASML's business growing.
There are 17 new semiconductor factories planned or under construction in the United States, with expansions planned at seven other factories. All of them will need lithography machines, and ASML is the only game in town for the EUV machines you need to make the most advanced chips.
And the semiconductor industry is a growth market if ever there were one. PwC projects the industry will be worth $1 trillion by 2030. Every company involved in that industry needs ASML's machines.
I'd say that makes this one a buy or, at the very least, worth a look.

Sony plans to build on this momentum to support long-term, profitable growth and invest in shaping the future of play. The company expects steady growth in revenues and profit from network services as the PS5 user base expands. Key goals include increasing revenues from PlayStation Plus and maximizing PlayStation Store earnings through personalization and pricing optimization.
Sony plans to grow the Music business by expanding into emerging markets (Latin America, India and parts of Europe), where streaming is gaining popularity, by growing organically and through acquisition synergies. It is exploring strategic investments in key areas and music catalogs to grow revenues and increase asset value, with a focus on discovering talent and strengthening ties with local independent labels and artists. Additionally, Sony Music Group strengthened its ties with digital platforms. It signed new licensing deals with Spotify this quarter, along with other labels, and agreed to back Spotify’s efforts to ensure AI is used in ways that support artists and songwriters. For fiscal 2025, the sales forecast has been revised upward by 6% from the previous projection on the back of higher revenues in Visual Media & Platform and foreign exchange tailwinds.

SONY’s Positive Outlook Signals Strong Growth Ahead
Sony has updated its outlook for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026. The company expects sales of ¥12,000 billion, up from the previous guidance of ¥11,700 billion. The top-line performance is likely to be driven by strengthening momentum in the G&NS and Music segments.
For G&NS, revenues are now expected to be ¥4,470 billion compared with the earlier projection of ¥4,320 billion, while for Music, net sales are estimated at ¥1,980 billion compared with ¥1,870 billion predicted earlier. For I&SS, revenues are expected at ¥1,990 billion compared with the earlier forecast of ¥1,960 billion. For ET&S, revenues are now estimated at ¥2,300 billion compared with the earlier forecast of ¥2,280 billion.
Operating income guidance has been raised to ¥1,430 billion from ¥1,330 billion. Net income is estimated to be ¥1,050 billion compared with the prior view of ¥970 billion.
Challenges Affecting SONY
Business volatility and intense competition, along with a slowdown in the imaging market, remain a worry. Additional U.S. tariffs are still expected to reduce fiscal 2025 operating income by about ¥50 billion, affecting multiple segments. For the second half of the fiscal year, Sony projects the uncertain environment to persist and expects to operate cautiously, with only modest progress likely.
SONY’s Undervaluation: A Buying Opportunity?
The stock trades at a forward 12-month price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 21.75, below the industry’s average of 21.94.

(RTTNews) - Sony Interactive Entertainment (SONY) has entered into a publishing partnership with Bad Robot Games, the gaming arm of JJ Abrams' Bad Robot, to produce the studio's first internally developed title, a four-player co-op shooter directed by Mike Booth of Left 4 Dead fame.
The project is currently in development for PlayStation 5 and PC, with additional details to be revealed later.
Bad Robot Games CEO Anna Sweet said the collaboration gives the studio the scale and support needed to build a new IP with an expansive universe, adding that Booth's direction aims to create memorable cooperative experiences.
Sony executives praised the studio's creative vision and innovation, noting that the partnership aligns with PlayStation's focus on delivering emotionally resonant and immersive gaming experiences.

Sony Partners With Bad Robot Games To Publish New Co-op Shooter For PS5 And PC

Dolby Laboratories, Inc. DLB reported fourth-quarter fiscal 2025 non-GAAP earnings per share (EPS) of 99 cents, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 70 cents. It reported 81 cents in the prior-year quarter.
Total revenues were $307 million, up from $304.8 million in the year-ago quarter and surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 0.5%. This uptick was driven by higher revenues in the Product and Services segment.
The company closed fiscal 2025 on a strong note, with growth in Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision and its imaging patents, while also broadening its addressable market through the continued momentum of Dolby OptiView and the launch of a new imaging patent pool for content streaming.
For fiscal 2026, management is confident in its strategy to drive business growth by delivering meaningful value across both existing and emerging ecosystems of creators, content distributors and device manufacturers.
Following the announcement, shares of the company marginally declined in the after-market trading session yesterday. In the past year, shares have lost 21.6% against the Zacks Audio Video Production industry’s growth of 46.5%.

DLB’s Segmental Performance
Revenues from Licensing were $281.6 million, down 0.4% year over year. Licensing revenue was in line with the company’s guidance of $263 million to $293 million.
Products and Services’ revenues were up 14.9% year over year to $25.4 million.
Our estimates were pegged at $281 million and $24.5 million for the Licensing and Products and Services revenues, respectively.
Broadcast Licensing contributed 38% to total licensing revenues in the quarter under review. Mobile Licensing, Consumer Electronics (CE), PC Licensing and Licensing from Other Markets accounted for 18%, 12%, 10% and 22% of licensing revenues, respectively.
Other Details of DLB
Gross profit in the fiscal fourth quarter was $267.5 million compared with $270.8 million in the year-ago quarter. Total operating expenses increased to $237.8 million from $224.5 million reported in the year-ago quarter.
Operating income was $29.7 million compared with $46.4 million in the year-ago quarter.
DLB’s Cash Flow & Liquidity
For the fiscal year ended on Sept. 26, 2025, Dolby generated $472.2 million of net cash from operating activities.
As of Sept. 26, 2025, the company had $701.9 million in cash and cash equivalents, with $595.8 million in total liabilities. It had $698.6 million in cash and cash equivalents, with $581.8 million in total liabilities, as of June 27, 2025.
The company repurchased approximately 479,000 shares of its common stock for about $35 million during the quarter and ended the quarter with roughly $277 million remaining under its stock repurchase authorization.
The company declared a cash dividend of 36 cents per share, payable on Dec. 10, 2025, to shareholders on record as of the close of business on Dec. 2, 2025.
DLB’s 2026 Outlook
For the first quarter of fiscal 2026, the company estimates revenues between $315 million and $345 million. First-quarter revenue is projected to decline about 8% year over year at the midpoint, mainly because of a tough comparison with last year’s sizable true-up and the timing of recoveries and minimum volume commitments.
The company anticipates first-quarter licensing revenues to be between $290 million and $320 million.
On a GAAP basis, operating expenses are expected to be in the range of $235-$245 million. On a non-GAAP basis, the same is anticipated to be between $195 million and $205 million.
It expects GAAP EPS of 28-43 cents and non-GAAP EPS between 39 cents and 54 cents.
Dolby Laboratories Price, Consensus and EPS Surprise
For fiscal 2026, the company expects revenues to be in the $1.39-$1.44 billion band. The company reported revenues of $1.35 billion in fiscal 2025.
Licensing revenues are projected to range from $1.285 billion to $1.335 billion, with revenue from Foundational Audio Technologies expected to decline in the low single digits due to deal timing in Mobile and lower anticipated unit shipments in PC and CE. By end market, the company expects full-year revenue to grow at a high-teens rate in Other, rise mid-single digits in Broadcast and Mobile and decline by high single digits in CE and PC.
GAAP operating margin is expected to be 21%, while the non-GAAP operating margin is projected to be nearly 34%.
On a GAAP basis, operating expenses are expected to range from $930 million to $950 million. On a non-GAAP basis, it is anticipated to range from $780 million to $800 million.
The company expects GAAP EPS of $2.61 to $2.76, and non-GAAP EPS is anticipated to be $4.19-$4.34. Dolby reported non-GAAP EPS of $4.24 in fiscal 2025.
Recent Updates
Dolby continued to broaden its global footprint this quarter across entertainment, social media, devices and automotive. Peacock began streaming its NFL Sunday Night Football and NBA games in Dolby Atmos, while Dolby also introduced Dolby Vision 2, extending the advantages of Dolby Vision beyond HDR to better leverage modern displays and provide creators with enhanced tools. Major TV manufacturers, including TCL, Samsung, Hisense, Xiaomi and Amazon, launched new models featuring Dolby Atmos and/or Dolby Vision, further expanding consumer access.
On the app front, Instagram for iOS became the first Meta platform to support Dolby Vision, and Douyin (TikTok in China) enabled users to capture, edit and share content in Dolby Vision. Dolby also strengthened its automotive presence by signing agreements with Maruti Suzuki in India, Deepal in China and VinFast in Vietnam. Additionally, the first in-car game with Dolby Atmos, Loner, debuted on Li Auto vehicles, showcasing new interactive possibilities for immersive audio.

GPRO generated revenues of $162.9 million, down 37.1% year over year. The figure was within the company’s expectation of $160 million (+/- $10 million). The top line beat the consensus mark by 0.5%.
Sonos, Inc. SONO reported fourth-quarter fiscal 2025 non-GAAP loss per share of 6 cents. The Zacks Consensus Estimate was pegged at earnings of 5 cents. The company incurred a loss of 18 cents in the prior-year quarter. On a GAAP basis, the company reported a loss of 31 cents compared with a loss of 44 cents in the year-ago quarter.
Quarterly revenues increased 12.7% year over year to $287.9 million. Moreover, the figure came near the high end of the company’s guidance of $260 million to $290 million. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for the top line was pegged at $283.1 million.
