However, there is a limit to how much a company can continue accelerating its growth rate before it runs out of clients to expand with. For Palantir investors, growth is the lifeblood of the stock, and without it, it isn't a worthwhile investment.
So, can Palantir keep it up? Let's take a look.

Palantir continues to exceed results
Palantir has been in the artificial intelligence (AI) game longer than most. It has over two decades of experience, and has products that allow clients to keep their existing systems and integrate Palantir's software into them, making deployment very easy. Furthermore, it has deep ties to the U.S. government and has locked in several use cases there. That gives the company two sectors to grow into, and each of them has delivered outstanding results.
Palantir has seen most of its success in the U.S., as the rest of the world hasn't gone all-in on AI. In Q2, its U.S. commercial revenue increased 149% year over year to $764 million. Meanwhile, U.S. government revenue rose 90% to $809 million. Overall, Palantir's growth rate was 93%, making Q2 another period of revenue growth acceleration, and continuing a pattern that it established in 2023.
The question investors need to ask themselves is: When could Palantir's growth top out? That could make or break the stock.
For Q3, Wall Street analysts expect revenue to grow at an 84% pace, which would be a slowdown in growth on a percentage basis. However, Palantir has also dramatically exceeded expectations every single quarter over the past few years, so it may blow past them again.
I think the key to Palantir's continued growth rate lies in its commercial customer count. In Q2, its U.S. commercial customer count rose 6% quarter over quarter to 653. This growth rate is steadily slowing, and while it's still quite rapid overall, the lack of new clients could start to slow Palantir's overall growth rate. If that happens, the stock could be in trouble, because it is valued at a hefty premium based in part on its rapid growth.
Palantir trades at a steep premium
Palantir isn't a growth-at-all-costs company that is sacrificing profitability in pursuit of top-line growth. It delivered an impressive profit margin of 55% during its latest quarter.
Because of that, I think it makes sense to measure the stock relative to its earnings, and from a trailing price-to-earnings standpoint, Palantir is incredibly expensive.
At nearly 150 times earnings, it's one of the more expensive stocks out there, especially when you consider that the business is already optimized to produce maximum profits. Most stocks trade somewhere in the range of 20 to 40 times earnings when they are fully profitable, even if they are growing at a rapid pace like Palantir is.
In order for Palantir's P/E ratio to fall to 40 times earnings at the current share price, it would have to increase its earnings by over 250%. That's a lot of growth that today's stock buyers are counting on.
Even if Palantir maintains a rapid growth rate, there are still several years' worth of growth baked into the stock price, which will eat into shareholders' potential future returns. Unless the company can continue growing at nearly a 100% rate over the next year and a half, I think the stock price will actually fall over the next few years. As a result, I think investors should look at other AI stocks instead.

It's scary in that no one knows what this will mean for the job market in the next decade. Meanwhile, an Anthropic employee saying there is a greater than 10% chance the AI will wipe out human civilization in the next 10 years isn't exactly comforting.

But on our way to utopia or the end of the world, let's look at three agentic AI stocks that can help your portfolio now.
1. Palantir Technologies
As AI agents advance, organizations will need a way to control them, and that is where Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ: PLTR) can step in with its AI platform (AIP). The company said its platform-native agent engine SDK (software development kit) will help customers answer the three most important questions about AI agent actions: who authorized it, how much it costs, and whether the action can be trusted.
When it comes to agentic AI, the stakes are high, and Palantir's AIP can act as a true agent operating system. The company's secret sauce is its ontology, which links all the data it gathers to real-world objects, workflows, and processes.
AIP is already seeing rapid growth and helping organizations across industries solve mission-critical problems. The rise of AI agents will likely only accelerate the need for their platforms, making it a stock to own despite its high valuation.
2. Salesforce
Salesforce (NYSE: CRM) has devoted itself to becoming an agentic AI-first company, and those efforts are starting to pay off. Last quarter, it saw annual recurring revenue (ARR) for its Agentforce agentic AI platform soar 240% year over year to $1.5 billion, while its Data 360 ARR tripled to $2.4 billion.
Salesforce has worked to make its platform a single source of truth for launching AI agents. It developed zero-copy technology to quickly and cheaply extract data from sources outside of organizations, like data warehouses and cloud providers, and it acquired master data management company Informatica to clean up and organize this data. Meanwhile, Slack has become one of its primary AI agent launching pads, with Slackbot hitting 1 million active users after debuting just five months ago.
Salesforce has both the backend and frontend to become one of the biggest agentic AI winners.
3. Meta Platforms
Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META) may be a surprise addition to this list, but the introduction of its Muse AI agent looks like a game changer. While most agentic AI companies have focused on enterprise AI agents, Meta has just introduced a new personal AI agent that can help individuals with routine chores and tasks.
Meta's Muse AI agent will be offered in several tiers. There will be a free tier, while people who use it more often can opt for the $20-a-month Power tier or the $100-a-month Maximum tier. The agent will be able to do such things as make purchases, book travel, send emails and party invitations, work to lower bills, and take recipes and create grocery lists. Users will have to grant the agent access to things like email, payments, and calendars, and they can also allow it to access data from other apps they use regularly.
Meta has said it won't share users' data with its ad systems, but it will still indirectly impact the ads users see. The big benefit for the company comes from capturing affiliate and processing fees when the agent purchases something on behalf of a user. This could be a huge new source of revenue for the company over time and help diversify its model away from just advertising. In fact, simply monetizing Facebook Marketplace and making it more transaction-based could be a huge driver.
Given this opportunity and the strength of its core business, the stock looks like a long-term winner.

3 Agentic AI Stocks to Own Before AI Changes the World as We Know It

Since its public debut in June, SpaceX stock has soared to as much as 50% above its opening trading price, and has also slumped to as far as 30% below it.
Analysis of other recent tech IPOs suggests that buying into volatility can eventually pay off for patient investors.
While SpaceX has recovered from its early slump, the company still has a lot to prove before the market will have reason to bid the stock to new highs.
Elon Musk's Space Exploration Technologies (NASDAQ: SPCX), better known as SpaceX, has already given investors the full IPO experience. SpaceX stock opened on the Nasdaq at $150. In its first few days, shares soared, briefly touching a high of $225.64 -- a pop of roughly 50% in less than a week.
Predictably, momentum traders started cashing out and booking quick gains. Throughout the summer, volatility was the main theme with SpaceX stock. Shares slid as low as $104.83 in early August before gradually climbing back to around their opening price, which is where they're hovering today. That's a lot of volatility.

The question I've been mulling over is a little uncomfortable: If SpaceX stock again crashes, this time to an even deeper low of, say, under $100 per share, should investors treat that event like a gift? Or would it be better to read it as a sign that Musk's empire of reusable rockets, satellite broadband services, and artificial intelligence (AI) is really just a falling knife masked as a once-in-a-generation opportunity?
How have other mega-IPOs played out?
SpaceX went public in the largest IPO in history, raising nearly $86 billion. To put into perspective where the stock could be headed, let's consider three other recent IPOs that attracted major hype: Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ: PLTR), Snowflake (NYSE: SNOW), and Figma (NYSE: FIG).
Palantir's first year as a public company looked like a solid win. The data analytics company went public at $10 per share in September 2020. By the end of that year, the stock had doubled. In late January 2021, shares spiked into the $40 range before giving back some of those gains, eventually settling in a range between $20 and $30 for the rest of the year.
But Palantir spent the next year getting chopped down to a low near $6 per share. It wasn't until the company turned profitable and launched its Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) in mid-2023 that institutional investors began respecting it more.
Over the last few years, Palantir has consistently proven it's one of the backbones of enterprise AI systems across the public and private sectors. As a result, both Wall Street and retail investors have come to appreciate it, and have treated the stock as a core beneficiary of the AI revolution.
Snowflake's public debut was hard to miss. In September 2020, Snowflake stock opened trading at $245 and closed its first day of trading at $254. The company's first year on the exchanges was a rocket ride. Shares kept climbing throughout 2021, peaking at $402 by November of that year. But similar to Palantir, Snowflake's valuation collapsed during 2022. By the spring, Snowflake stock had given back its entire post-IPO runup and briefly traded under its IPO price of $120.
The irony is that Snowflake's business was growing the entire time. Yet investors remained skeptical until the AI data-cloud story looked convincingly less like a slogan and more like the product revenue of a hypergrowth company deserving of a premium multiple. Today, Snowflake stock trades around $333, giving it a gain of 36% over six years.
Software-as-a-service company Figma opened on the public exchanges at $85 per share and popped to $115 in its first session. By the next day, Figma stock reached $143. That 68% surge echoes the rise SpaceX stock took in its first days of trading. Unfortunately for those who were chasing momentum, that was the high point. Figma has spent the last year sliding through the $80s, then the $40s, then into the $20s, eventually settling at a low near $17. But just like Snowflake, Figma's revenues have kept growing at rates in the vicinity of 40% throughout that prolonged sell-off.
These three particular IPOs are worth paying attention to because SpaceX has been rhyming with them in its limited time as a public company. The initial pop and the first fade have already happened. To me, a break under $100 per share would simply mean the market has decided that, based on SpaceX's rocket launch cadence, Starlink's economics, and the company's capital-intensive AI infrastructure promises, the valuation the company went public with was too rich.
What can investors learn from IPO investing?
If SpaceX stock falls below $100, the easy take would be that the market is handing you an opportunity to buy the dip. Reflecting on the similar IPOs discussed here shows that this mindset was how many people got stuck buying at the wrong time. Some investors who bought Palantir near $40 in early 2021 watched the stock crater to $6. A Snowflake buyer who go int at $250 on day one and held on would have spent years underwater. Meanwhile, anyone who bought Figma during its first few days and months on the market is either still in the red or has liquidated their position at a considerable loss.
With all that in mind, investors should view the investment thesis for SpaceX in terms of actual numbers, not vibes. Ask yourself: What rocket launch cadence, Starlink cash flow, and AI infrastructure revenue would make a $100 share price actually look cheap for the company instead of merely lower relative to the current premium valuation?
From there, all you'll need to do is watch SpaceX's progress in terms of flight rates, constellation utilization, and whether the AI segment is turning profitable. If those operational metrics improve while the ticker sulks, that is a setup that should eventually pay off. Both Palantir and Snowflake demonstrate that point. On the flip side, if SpaceX's finances stall, then a $99 share price would just be a cheaper way to own the same problem.
The market always follows earnings
If SpaceX follows the same descending path that other mega-IPOs have, history suggests investors should not load up at $99 a share. Instead, reframe the nature of the investment opportunity, keep monitoring earnings, and start buying shares only when the company is achieving what it has set out to do. If rocket launches, Starlink's subscriber numbers, and AI revenue compound while the ticker heads sideways, that is usually when the rerating quietly begins. Markets can be late, but they are not clueless.
This is the difference between buying a story and investing in a business with real earnings. While the initial IPO tape can make a story feel finished, the companies discussed here proved that the offering is only the opening scene. In reality, SpaceX is still in that scene. For now, a sub-$100 price tag would mostly mean that the stock's first pop was where the easy money was made. Now, investors face the harder question of whether the stock is still worth owning on the way down.

If SpaceX Stock Falls Below $100, History Suggests This Is the Move to Make

Michael Burry, famous for his depiction in The Big Short, has set his eyes on artificial intelligence (AI) stocks. He's short Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA), Palantir (NASDAQ: PLTR), and Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) and sees the AI bubble leading to a "1987-type fall."

Leverage is a concern for people who need money soon
Burry noted that a rising stock market forces certain funds to go deeper into leverage. For instance, the GraniteShares 2x Long NVDA Daily ETF (NASDAQ: NVDL) is forced to buy more shares of Nvidia as the chipmaker rallies.
It's not just these funds, either. Margin investing is hot, and the total margin debt increased by 50% year over year in June. That type of leverage accelerates rallies but can lead to harsh, sudden crashes.
The risk of that level of margin was put on full display when Leopold Aschenbrenner's highly leveraged Situation Awareness hedge fund was liquidated due to declining stock prices. The fund had high-leverage bets on hot AI stocks. While most investors with long-term horizons can recover from a 20% dip, those same dips are devastating for investors like Aschenbrenner.
In the end, his $45 billion hedge fund liquidated almost overnight, catching the entire world by surprise and explaining why AI stocks had been slumping for weeks.
Even if you do not use leverage on AI stocks, you may still be affected by other people's leverage, since margin calls can force people to sell out of positions and turn small corrections into big ones.
Long-term investors shouldn't be worried
The AI boom is fueled by real demand, revenue, and profits. People are adopting AI models like ChatGPT and Gemini. Chatbots are becoming more common, and physical AI, such as humanoid robots and autonomous vehicles, is gaining traction.
It's not like the dot-com bubble, where companies had sketchy fundamentals and questionable long-term growth prospects. Furthermore, the margin unwind connected to Situational Awareness suggests there won't be a dramatic 1987-style event. There may be a good buying opportunity for patient investors.
Although Burry made a great call leading up to the recession that catapulted him to fame, he has repeatedly warned investors about stock market crashes that have never materialized.
Burry may have profited in the short run with some of his positions since he often uses puts. However, staying out of the market and avoiding growth stocks has hurt people in the long run.
Burry isn't right all the time, and when he makes bold bets, he's often thinking in months rather than years, since put options have expiration dates. It may also be the case that a broken clock is right twice a day. Burry disclosed a short position in Nebius Group (NASDAQ: NBIS) on Aug. 6. The neocloud then delivered superb earnings and is up roughly 20% since that disclosure.
The market's love of leverage is a risk that can affect the entire market, with an outsized impact on growth stocks. However, the fundamental story for AI is solid and strengthening.

Michael Burry Is Staying Short Nvidia, Palantir, and Tesla, Warning of a Possible "1987-Type Fall" for AI Stocks. Should Investors Take the Bet Seriously?

Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ:PLTR) posted second-quarter revenue growth of 93% year over year. Its U.S. commercial business grew even faster, at 149%. And on the second-quarterearnings callin early August, CEO Alex Karp committed the whole company to the faster number.
"I am driving the business to grow at a rate equal or above to what we have in U.S. commercial for the next 18 months, which is a very high goal, but it is one we can actually get to," Karp said.

Notably, Karp named a benchmark, not a percentage. Palantir's own guidance supplies the percentage.
Alongside the second-quarter results, the company raised its full-year U.S. commercial revenue outlook to at least $3.424 billion, or growth of at least 134%. Even using the guided 134% (the more conservative of the two rates), Karp's commitment implies companywide growth of at least 134%.
For perspective, Palantir's guidance for the entire company calls for about 82% growth this year.

The target works out to about $19 billion
Palantir's raised full-year outlook puts 2026 revenue at about $8.15 billion. Karp's 18-month window runs from the early August call through the end of 2027 and into early 2028, so next year is when his benchmark fully applies.
Karp's benchmark moves with whatever U.S. commercial does, so assume the segment at least holds its guided pace next year. Grow the whole company 134% in 2027, and revenue for the year comes to about $19 billion: more than four times what Palantir generated in all of 2025, just two years later.
The quarterly steps are just as demanding. Palantir's second-quarter revenue was $1.94 billion. Growing 134% year over year would mean about $4.5 billion in the same quarter next year.
And the tech company's guidance implies a fourth quarter of about $2.4 billion this year. Stay on Karp's line through the end of 2027, and the final quarter of next year would need to come in around $5.7 billion -- about 70% of what the whole company expects for all of 2026, in a single quarter.
Can the rest of the business keep up?
U.S. commercial, the business that sells Palantir's artificial intelligence (AI) platform to companies, is the fastest-growing piece of Palantir, but it isn't the biggest. The segment's $764 million represented about 39% of second-quarter revenue.
U.S. government revenue of $809 million grew 90% year over year. And the rest of the business (international sales of about $362 million) grew about 34%.
That mix, I'd argue, is the problem with the target. Hold every piece of the business at last quarter's pace (commercial at 149%, government at 90%, international at about 34%), and companywide growth over the next year comes to about 103%. That would be extraordinary in its own right -- and still about 31 points short of the benchmark.
In other words, hitting Karp's number isn't a matter of Palantir holding its current pace. Either U.S. commercial has to accelerate well beyond 149% even as it gets bigger, or the government and international businesses have to speed up dramatically. Probably both.
And that runs against the usual pattern -- growth rates tend to come down as a business gets bigger, not up.
The recent record is on Karp's side
To be fair, Palantir has spent this year making its own targets look conservative. Not only has companywide growth accelerated for three straight quarters, from 70% in the fourth quarter of 2025, to 85% in this year's first quarter, to 93% in Q2, but the full-year outlook has climbed alongside it. Management guided to 61% growth in February, raised the figure to 71% in May, and raised it again to 82% in August. A management team that keeps raising its own targets has arguably earned some benefit of the doubt.
The forward-looking numbers lean Karp's way, too. U.S. commercial remaining deal value (the total remaining value of its contracts, assuming every customer option gets exercised and nothing is canceled) ended June at about $6.2 billion, up 124% from a year earlier and 27% in just three months.
But even the newest companywide outlook, at 82%, sits more than 50 points below the benchmark Karp set. Shares trade around $168 as of this writing, down from a 52-week high of $207.52, and the stock's valuation is why I haven't been a buyer.
How the growth stock performs from here could come down to how close the company gets to the pace Karp committed to.
Ultimately, I'd take Karp at his word on both halves of his sentence. The goal is one Palantir's own trajectory makes hard to dismiss. And it is, as he said, a very high one. For now, companywide growth sits at 93%, and the benchmark sits at 134%.

When it comes to artificial intelligence (AI), two names seem to get more airtime than their peers: Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) and Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ: PLTR). Over the current earnings season, investors have already gotten thorough downloads on how Nvidia and Palantir are performing. Spoiler alert: They both look unstoppable.
However, the company I think sits at the tightest choke-point in the entire AI infrastructure build-out is Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU). The memory shortage has become the bottleneck that tech sector CEOs are talking about out loud. While Micron wont reportits results till the end of the month, Nvidia and Palantir have already signaled the cycle is running in its favor.

Nvidia and Palantir confirmed the AI build-out continues
Nvidia's latest earnings report was the kind of print that resets conversations. Total revenue was $96.2 billion, more than double what it took in during the year-ago quarter. Data center sales reached $89 billion, up 117% year over year. Naturally, hyperscalers still matter a lot to Nvidia's data center segment. Big tech customers comprised $48.7 billion of the company's data center sales. The faster-growing slice, however, was its "ACIE group" -- AI clouds, industrial customers, and enterprises. This market segment generated $40.3 billion in revenue, up 138% year over year and 25% from the prior quarter.
Palantir is achieving in software what Nvidia is in hardware. During the second quarter, its revenue surged 93% year over year to $1.9 billion. Sales from the U.S. commercial segment jumped 149% year over year to $764 million. Given this momentum, management raised full-year revenue guidance to a little over $8.2 billion, implying 82% growth.
Palantir's Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) is not a pilot project anymore. Fortune 500 companies are embedding Palantir's platforms -- Foundry, Gotham, and Apollo -- into their daily operations, and the company's bookings suggest its sales acceleration will continue.
These two reports were not isolated. Nvidia and Palantir are proving that both the hardware layer and the software layer of the AI revolution are still expanding at paces that most on Wall Street would have called unsustainable even just two years ago.
Upstream dollars are now flowing downstream
The growth displayed by Nvidia and Palantir is excellent news for Micron because the AI stack is vertical. You can't sell more data center GPUs or more enterprise software platforms without putting a lot more high bandwidth memory (HBM) into the equation. Nvidia itself has made this abundantly clear. Last quarter, the company boosted its supply and capacity commitments through its fiscal 2032 by $160 billion to a total of $279 billion, with management saying the bulk of those commitments are for memory purchases.
Hyperscalers and AI-cloud operators continue to place enormous orders for Nvidia's GPUs. Software companies like Palantir then sell platforms and services that make these GPUs useful within production environments. The subtle beneficiary here is Micron, because every extra new accelerator installed and every AI deployment needs incremental stacks of HBM.
Micron is one of only three companies that can deliver these key types of memory at scale. DRAM pricing has soared because AI data centers are gobbling up a huge portion of available production. This shows how upstream success does not stay upstream. Downstream in the AI value chain, it manifests as tighter supply and better pricing for component makers like Micron.
The market could recalibrate its view of Micron on Sept. 30
Micron reports its fiscal 2026 fourth-quarter results after the closing bell on Sept. 30. The consensus estimates among Wall Street analysts are that it will report $50.8 billion in revenue and about $31.28 in earnings per share (EPS). The reason Micron could actually beat these forecasts is that pricing and product mix keep moving in its favor. Next-generation HBM4 is ramping up for the next wave of Nvidia systems, while conventional DRAM supply remains tight.
To me, Micron's valuation story is a curiosity. On a trailing-12-month basis, Micron stock may look expensive because its earnings explosion is still catching up to the stock price. On a forward price-to-earnings (P/E) basis, however, Micron is trading more like a cyclical industrial stock as opposed to a company positioned in the middle of a multiyear infrastructure boom.
Nvidia and Palantir are already priced like true AI winners -- deservedly so. On a forward earnings basis, Micron remains priced like a commoditized memory producer that investors expect to eventually repeat its familiar boom-and-bust cycle. Yet memory is now a scarce resource, and every GPU produced and every enterprise AI system deployed needs it to function. If Micron merely delivers what Wall Street expects and then confirms that demand remains robust, its valuation multiple has significant room to expand alongside its still-rising earnings. That is why, in this particular month, Micron looks like the most important AI infrastructure stock.

Not Nvidia, Not Palantir. This Might Be September's Most Important AI Infrastructure Stock.

Nebius Group N.V.’s NBIS shares jumped 7.73% in trading yesterday and closed the session at $243.88 after Palantir Technologies PLTR partnered with Nebius for AI-native cloud infrastructure. The initiative combines Palantir’s enterprise AI software with Nebius’ AI-native cloud and computing infrastructure. It potentially gives Nebius access to a broader pool of enterprises seeking secure, controllable AI infrastructure while reinforcing its position as a major neocloud player.
Under the agreement, Nebius will provide AI compute and inference infrastructure to Palantir’s commercial customers. Palantir has designated Nebius as its preferred sovereign AI infrastructure partner. Following the integration, NBIS compute and inference endpoints are expected to operate inside PLTR’s enterprise perimeter. Sovereign AI is becoming a priority for governments and businesses seeking greater control over sensitive data, models and computing. Palantir provides the software and control layer, while Nebius supplies the AI infrastructure.
The joined forces aim to offer an end-to-end platform that lets customers run open AI models, train them on proprietary data and retain control of their models and workloads. The companies also plan to accelerate capacity deployment through modular data centers at sites with available power. Nebius competes with much larger cloud providers and neoclouds like CoreWeave CRWV and Microsoft MSFT, making Palantir’s selection as its preferred sovereign AI infrastructure partner a strong endorsement. Furthermore, Palantir could become a key distribution channel, giving its customers access to Nebius infrastructure and helping Nebius reduce customer-acquisition friction and expand into enterprise AI.
Nebius reported $582 million of second-quarter revenue, up 454% year over year, and maintained its 2026 revenue outlook of $3-$3.4 billion. The company also expects connected power capacity to reach roughly 800 MW to 1 GW by the end of 2026. This growth is being fueled by the rapid expansion of AI computing demand.
NBIS’ AI Infrastructure Opportunity Faces Tough Competition
In August, CRWV announced that Rescale is expanding its cloud ecosystem to include CoreWeave Cloud. The collaboration gives Rescale customers in aerospace, automotive, energy, life sciences and manufacturing easier access to CRWV’s AI-optimized infrastructure for demanding engineering simulations, HPC and machine learning workloads, potentially accelerating AI adoption across computationally intensive industries. It also won a multi-year agreement with Hudson River Trading to build its next-generation AI-driven research and model-development platform. The deployment will use NVIDIA's Vera Rubin NVL72 platform and Spectrum-X Ethernet networking. CRWV is strengthening its AI infrastructure strategy through a multi-year agreement with Solidigm that provides priority access to enterprise SSD capacity.
Microsoft is capitalizing on AI business momentum and Copilot adoption while accelerating Azure cloud infrastructure expansion. Its AI investments are converting into measurable commercial traction across its stack. Multi-model flexibility, paired with continued access to OpenAI's frontier models under an IP arrangement extending to 2032, allows customers to optimize cost and performance while keeping Microsoft central to their AI infrastructure decisions. With demand still outpacing available capacity, this positioning across AI infrastructure, tooling and applications should continue widening Microsoft's addressable opportunity heading into fiscal 2027. However, Microsoft’s AI and cloud buildout is consuming a larger share of company resources.
NBIS Price Performance, Valuation and Estimates
Shares of Nebius have gained 191.4% year to date compared with the Internet – Software and Services industry’s growth of 17.9%.
In terms of price/book, NBIS’ shares are trading at 5.97X, higher than the Internet Software Services industry’s 3.84X.
The Zacks Consensus Estimate for NBIS’ earnings for 2026 has been revised upward over the past 60 days.

Tesla is trying to put AI into the physical world: cars that drive themselves, Robotaxis that transport passengers, humanoid robots that perform physical work, and energy systems that increasingly rely on software and automation.

Palantir is taking AI in a different direction. It is building software that helps governments and businesses turn enormous amounts of data into decisions and actions.
So which should investors buy?
Tesla is betting on AI in the physical world
The simplest way to understand Tesla's opportunity is to stop thinking of it primarily as a car company. Tesla wants to use AI to control machines in the real world. Its Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology is the foundation for its Robotaxi ambitions. If autonomous vehicles become reliable enough, Tesla could potentially operate a transportation network in which vehicles generate revenue even when their owners aren't using them.
Then there's Optimus. A capable humanoid robot could potentially perform repetitive or dangerous physical tasks in factories, warehouses, and eventually other environments.
Put it all together, and Tesla is making an enormous bet: AI won't just change what computers do. It will change what machines do. If Tesla gets that right, the opportunity could be extraordinary.
But the path is complicated. Autonomous vehicles need regulatory approval and public acceptance. Robots face a challenge in mass production. And both require enormous investment today despite having little to no revenue.
Palantir is betting on AI inside organizations
Palantir's AI opportunity is different from Tesla's.
Its software helps organizations integrate data from different sources and use AI to analyze it, make decisions, and automate workflows. Customers range from governments to the largest corporations, all eager to leverage AI for transformation.
But unlike Tesla's most ambitious future businesses, Palantir is already monetizing its AI opportunity at scale. To put the numbers into perspective, Palantir's second quarter 2026 revenue increased 93% year over year to approximately $1.9 billion, while U.S. commercial revenue surged 149%. That's important because it demonstrates something Tesla's newer "AI-related" businesses have yet to prove -- that customers are already paying for the product, at scale.
Besides, Palantir doesn't need to manufacture millions of physical machines to grow its business. It just needs more organizations to adopt its software, expand their usage, and integrate AI more deeply into their operations. In other words, Palantir is a more capital-light business that primarily deals in software, whereas Tesla's products are about integrating hardware and software.
Neither stock is cheap
This is where the comparison gets even more interesting.
Neither Tesla nor Palantir is your typical bargain stock. As of writing, the former trades at a 12x price-to-sales (P/S) ratio, while the latter trades at a 73x P/S ratio. Of course, a direct comparison between the valuations of these two companies may not be appropriate, given that a substantial part of Tesla's business is manufacturing, whereas Palantir is predominantly a software business.
Still, it's not difficult to argue that Palantir is probably trading at a bigger premium, which is not surprising given its extraordinary growth. On the contrary, Tesla is still working tirelessly to position the company as a more diversified physical AI business, rather than just an electric car manufacturer.
Needless to say, though, both stocks have valuation risk. Palantir's risk is that its extraordinary growth slows, while Tesla's risk is that its extraordinary future arrives too late.
So which is the better buy?
I would resist the temptation to declare one stock the obvious winner. If you believe AI's biggest opportunity over the next several years is helping companies and governments become dramatically more productive, Palantir offers a compelling way to participate. If you believe AI will eventually move far beyond software and control enormous fleets of physical machines, Tesla may offer the more ambitious opportunity.
Ultimately, Tesla and Palantir aren't really competing versions of the same investment. There are two different ways to bet on artificial intelligence.
Investors should choose the company in which they have the strongest conviction in the long-term prospects. Even then, they should be aware that both stocks are genuinely expensive, so if neither valuation gives you enough comfort, waiting for a better entry point is a perfectly rational decision.

Palantir vs. Tesla: Which AI Stock Should You Buy?

Shares of big data software pioneer Palantir (NASDAQ: PLTR) rallied 51.5% in August, according to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence.
Palantir became a darling of the AI era over the past couple of years, and hit a very high valuation at its peak last November. Since then, the "SaaS-pocalypse" has taken a toll on the entire software sector, including Palantir, as fears of disruption from leading AI labs cut its stock price nearly in half, from its November 2025 highs to its June 2026 lows.

The downturn set Palantir up for a bounce higher if it posted continued strong financial results. Its second-quarter August report provided that, in spades.
Palantir delivers eye-popping growth... again
In the second quarter, Palantir delivered 93% revenue growth to $1.94 billion, while adjusted (non-GAAP) earnings per share grew 156% to $0.41. Both figures handily beat analyst expectations. This amazing growth marked a stunning acceleration from the 48% revenue growth in the year-ago quarter and the 85% growth in the first quarter of 2026. Another impressive metric was profitability, as adjusted free cash flow margins expanded to a massive 63% -- among the highest in the industry.
So much for the "SaaS-pocalypse," at least as it applies to Palantir's business.
In the press release,earnings call and in recent media appearances, CEO Alex Karp made the case for Palantir to manage a company's artificial intelligence problem-solving, rather than going directly to one of the big AI labs such as OpenAI or Anthropic, saying:
Palantir is the only company that has demonstrated it can transform tokens into actual economic value. Our customers trust us to provide them with maximum control over their operations, data, and decisions. Their competitive advantage should never be used as training data for future models.
This quote is quite illuminating as to how Palantir is positioning itself in the age of AI and fending off the powerful frontier model labs. Karp claims that enterprises that use leading-edge frontier models directly risk their company's data and AI use cases being 'learned" by the AI models, which the models could theoretically use to improve and then spread that knowledge to competitors. An even worse scenario would involve the model-makers building their own products to compete with customers themselves.
The pitch appears to be working, especially with U.S. commercial customers, which grew 149% year over year. That's a pretty amazing figure, especially since overall sales and marketing expenses grew less than 40% over the past year, even including stock-based compensation. It's pretty clear that Palantir's platform is translating AI into real business value; otherwise, it wouldn't be growing this fast with so little incremental expense growth.
How high is too high a price?
Palantir continues to accelerate its growth and expand margins, despite the company's larger size and already sky-high profitability. That goes a long way toward justifying the company's 78 times forward P/E ratio, based on 2026 earnings estimates.
It's hard to imagine Palantir continuing to accelerate its growth rate off an ever-higher base, but then again, that's what many might have thought last year, and yet, Alex Karp and company managed to do so.
While the stock is far too expensive for value investors, younger growth-oriented investors should have a look at Palantir shares, even after its big August bounce.

Why Palantir Rallied Over 50% in August

What happened with CoreWeave today
CoreWeave is a volatile stock, and it tends to react strongly tomarket news It's not unusual to see the stock move double digits even when there's no news out on the company, and that's what happened today.
Nebius shares jumped after it announced a new sovereign AI partnership with Palantir. While that would seem to be bad news for CoreWeave, as it gives a competitor an edge, investors interpreted the news as a tailwind for the sector as a whole, bidding CoreWeave and peers like IREN higher as a result.
While CoreWeave has underperformed Nebius in the stock market, it's much larger than Nebius, and any validation of the neocloud sector is likely to benefit CoreWeave over the long run as well.
Elsewhere, the Dept. of Commerce said it would invest $100 million in both Rigetti Computing and D-Wave Quantum, showing it continues to throw money at strategic tech companies, and Intel announced it would raise processor prices, which could signal price hikes in other areas of the tech supply chain, including for AI infrastructure.
What's next for CoreWeave
CoreWeave is a high-risk stock as the company is growing quickly, with revenue more than doubling, but it's putting up massive losses due to heavy capital expenditures to build new data centers and the interest on the debt it's borrowing to pay for it.
It may be years before we know if that strategy will pay off. For now, expect the stock to continue to swing big on sector and macro news.
