The company also offers Mercado Fondo that allows users to invest funds deposited in their Mercado Pago accounts; Mercado Credito, which extends loans to certain merchants and consumers; and Mercado Envios logistics solution that enables sellers on its platform to utilize third-party carriers and other logistics service providers, as well as fulfillment and warehousing services for sellers. In addition, it provides Mercado Libre Classifieds, an online classified listing service, where users can list and purchase motor vehicles, real estate, and services; Mercado Ads, an advertising platform, which enables large retailers and brands to promote their products and services on the web; and Mercado Shops, an online storefronts solution that enables users to set-up, manage, and promote their own digital stores. 1. PepsiCo
PepsiCo (NASDAQ: PEP) stock has dramatically underperformed shares of its rival Coca-Cola since late 2023, when lingering inflation turned downright painful.
Whereas Coca-Cola's business model largely punts expensive bottling operations to its third-party bottling partners, PepsiCo owns most of its manufacturing facilities, which were suddenly more expensive to operate.
It would also be naïve to pretend Coca-Cola doesn't have at least a little more pricing power than PepsiCo does, particularly in comparison to PepsiCo's Frito-Lay snack chip business.
However, while the backdrop put pressure on PepsiCo's profit margins, it was never the existential threat that the stock's 30% pullback from its 2023 peak suggests. The sell-off has done investors a huge favor, though. It's pumped this stock's forward-looking dividend yield up to 4.2%.That yield is also based on a dividend that has now been raised for 53 consecutive years.
2. AppLovin
Ever heard of AppLovin (NASDAQ: APP)? It would be a bit surprising if you had. It's anything but a household name. There's a good chance you or someone in your household has been exposed to its service, however.
AppLovin helps app developers advertise their apps. This description still understates what the company brings to the table, though. The company's turned digital marketing into an art and a science. From streaming TV to mobile apps and more, AppLovin helps marketers create, manage, and measure advertising campaigns.
Its target market clearly loves what it offers, if this year's projected top-line growth of more than 21% is any indication. This pace of revenue growth is also expected to last at least through 2027. This technology company is also profitable, and increasingly so. In fact, its per-share profits are expected to triple from last year's $4.53 to more than $14.00 per share by 2027.
There's been some drama, for the record. In March, short-selling specialist outfit Muddy Waters argued that AppLovin's advertising tech didn't actually work as effectively as it was said to. Shares tumbled on the news.
It's quite telling, however, that the stock has since more than reclaimed that lost ground.
3. Snap
When Snapchat parent Snap (NYSE: SNAP) went public in 2017, investors were understandably hesitant. Twitter (now X) and Meta Platforms' Facebook were well-entrenched by then, and still growing. The last thing the world seemed to need at the time was yet another social media platform. Investors needed an unprofitable one even less.
A funny thing's happened in the meantime. Snapchat's continued to make forward progress in terms of revenue, profitability, and user headcount. Its first-quarter daily user tally of 460 million extends a slow and steady growth streak to another new record. Sales growth and progress toward consistent profitability remain equally impressive, firmed up by the company's willingness to consistently try new things, and learn from its failures as well as its successes.
What gives? It's arguably an underappreciated theory, but it's possible that more and more people are finding Facebook and X to be a bit too toxic, and increasingly so. It's easier for users to shield themselves from this noise with the Snapchat app.
4. MercadoLibre
There's a good chance you've never heard of MercadoLibre (NASDAQ: MELI). Don't let that deter you. It's a fantastic growth opportunity.
MercadoLibre is often referred to as the Amazon of Latin America, by virtue of its e-commerce platform that serves the entire region. From payment processing to delivery logistics to technological tools for brick-and-mortar retailers, MercadoLibre is a turnkey solution for a bunch of South American consumer-facing businesses. Last year, its tech facilitated the sale of $51.5 billion worth of goods and services, and it also served as the intermediary for nearly $200 billion in digital payments. Both were well up from year-earlier comparisons.
This still only scratches the surface of its opportunity.
In many ways, Latin America's telecom landscape is where North America's was 25 years ago, when Amazon first began growing into a powerhouse. Research outfit Canalys reports that smartphone shipments to Latin America reached a record-breaking 137 million units just last year, in step with the region's now-rapid growth of wired and wireless broadband.
As was the case in North America, this access is driving strong interest in online shopping. A forecast from Payments and Commerce Market Intelligence predicts that the Latin American e-commerce market is set to double in size between 2023 and 2027.MercadoLibre is perfectly positioned to capture more than its fair share of this growth.
5. Alibaba
Last but not least, I'm adding Alibaba (NYSE: BABA) to my list of favorite stocks to buy right now.
Alibaba is parent to China's powerhouse e-commerce platforms Taobao and Tmall, which collectively control about half of China's online shopping market. Its e-commerce sites AliExpress and Alibaba.com -- largely aimed at customers outside of China -- don't boast the same sort of reach, but they're still respectable presences in their own right.
The company is much more than e-commerce. It operates a digital entertainment arm, a logistics service, and a cloud computing business that's developed a powerful AI-powered chat tool called Qwen that can be used -- and monetized -- in several different ways.
What about the tariff standoff that's part of a much bigger trade war being fought between the world's two economic superpowers? It may not matter nearly as much as you might think it should.
China (in general) and Alibaba (in particular) largely operate within silos that don't outright require superstrong relations with top trade partners. As evidence of this argument, after Alibaba's first-quarter top-line growth of 6%, China reported that its retail spending improved 4.8% in June, following May's 6.4% increase. Industrial output remained firm as well.
This isn't to suggest that China wouldn't love to have better trade relations with the U.S. It's simply to point out that the country -- and this company -- can still thrive despite the trade impasses.

Microsoft
Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) may not appear to be a top stock-split candidate, but it might be compelled to split its stock. Although its share price is roughly $500, which isn't at a level you'd expect from a stock split, it is a member of the Dow Jones Industrial Average, a price-weighted index.
This means that the index is weighted by a stock's price rather than by the company's size. Currently, Microsoft is the second most expensive stock in the index, and it may be forced to split its stock to stay in the index. Otherwise, it could throw the index out of balance.
As a result, investors shouldn't be surprised if Microsoft splits its stock next year.
Goldman Sachs
Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) is also a member of the Dow Jones Industrial Average, but it holds the title of the most expensive stock in the index, trading for more than $700. Like Microsoft, it may split its stock next year, making it a smaller component of the widely used index.
Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META) could be vying for a position within the Dow as the index transitions from older manufacturing companies to newer AI-focused ones. This represents the broader shift in the American economy, so the inclusion of a company like Meta makes sense.
With the stock currently trading at around $725 per share, it's a stock that could potentially undergo a split next year.
Berkshire Hathaway
It's unlikely that you'll see a Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK.A) (NYSE: BRK.B) Class A share split, given that the stock price is currently more than $700,000 per share. However, Warren Buffett is retiring at the end of the year, and with a new CEO at the helm, you never know what might happen.
The B-class shares, which are significantly more affordable at $477 per share, could be a candidate for a stock split next year. Berkshire Hathaway is a world-renowned company, and maintaining affordable access to its shares is likely a key point for management.
Costco
Costco Wholesale (NASDAQ: COST) experienced an impressive stock run over the past decade, with its stock price exceeding $1,000 per share, although it's currently slightly below that mark. Once a company reaches $1,000 per share, it lands on investors' radar as a stock-split candidate, so don't be surprised if you see Costco announce a stock split sometime in 2026.
Netflix
Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX) is in a similar boat to Costco but at an even more expensive level. Its shares trade for around $1,250, which is quite expensive for a tech stock. Many tech companies use stock options to compensate employees, which would be a very expensive bonus to hand out from Netflix, given the high price of their stock.
As a result, I think it could split its stock in 2026.
ASML (NASDAQ: ASML) currently trades for approximately $800, but its 52-week high was over $1,100. This critical semiconductor manufacturing equipment supplier is poised for strong growth over the next few years as chip production capacity increases, and the company may consider splitting its stock in anticipation of further market run-up.
ServiceNow
ServiceNow (NYSE: NOW) trades for around $1,000 and is benefiting from the integration of AI into business. The stock has been on a remarkable run over the past few years, and it could see its shares rise even further, making it a potential candidate for a stock split.
Fair Isaac Corporation
Fair Isaac Corporation (NYSE: FICO), better known as FICO, is the company behind credit card scores. Its stock has been a stellar performer, crushing the market on its way up to more than $1,600 per share. However, it decreased significantly from its 52-week high of $2,400.
Still, given the stock's high price, don't be surprised if it announces a split next year.

10 Stock Splits Investors Could See Happen in 2026

MercadoLibre MELI remains firmly rooted in Brazil, which currently contributes more than 50% of its revenues. Strong growth across commerce and fintech, rising brand preference and new Mercado Pago branding have made Brazil its most important and established market.
However, President Trump’s 50% tariff on Brazilian imports has raised concerns. MercadoLibre stock was down more than 3% in Thursday trading after Trump’s announcement. While it targets geopolitical tensions more than trade flows, the resulting pressure on Brazil’s economy could indirectly affect MercadoLibre. A weaker currency and slower GDP growth may squeeze consumer spending, impacting e-commerce demand. Potential retaliatory moves from Brazil may also disrupt supply chains or raise logistics costs, adding to the uncertainty.
In the first quarter of 2025, MercadoLibre generated $3.08 billion in net revenues from Brazil, up 20% year over year in USD terms. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for 2025 revenues from Brazil is pegged at $14.3 billion. However, any retaliation from Brazil or further escalation in tariffs could add pressure to MercadoLibre’s operations in its biggest market, which investors should monitor closely.
MELI is ramping up its commitment to Brazil with a record 34 billion reais ($5.8 billion) investment planned for 2025, a 48% jump from last year. The spending will support logistics, technology, marketing, entertainment, hiring and loyalty programs across both commerce and fintech. With Brazil contributing over half of MELI’s revenues, this move highlights its focus on strengthening operations in its most important market.
MELI Faces Stiff Competition in Brazil
MercadoLibre faces rising competition in e-commerce from Amazon AMZN and Sea Limited SE, which are expanding their operations in Brazil.
Amazon offers customers more than 100 million products across 50 categories in the country. Amazon's logistics network in Brazil includes 10 fulfillment centers and 22 delivery stations throughout the country.
Shopee, backed by Sea Limited, is expanding in Brazil with aggressive pricing, mobile-first engagement and incentives for sellers. Sea Limited’s Shopee opened its first fulfillment distribution center in the Sao Paulo metro area late last year, designed to store products from Brazilian sellers and speed up last-mile delivery in the region.

MELI shares have gained 41.7% in the year-to-date (YTD) period, outperforming the Zacks Internet – Commerce industry and the Zacks Retail-Wholesale sector’s growth of 6.8% and 4.5%, respectively.

What's appealing about MercadoLibre is its solid financial performance and the secular tailwinds that could power its growth for years.
MercadoLibre operates the largest e-commerce network in Latin America and has generated $22.4 billion in revenue over the last 12 months. Overall revenue increased at a blistering 37% in its most recent quarter (for the three months ending on March 31, 2025), while net income surged by 44%. Gross merchandise value (GMV) increased 17% overall, while GMV in Argentina alone skyrocketed by 126%.
In addition to its strong e-commerce results, the company's fintech arm, Mercado Pago, continues to grow rapidly. Monthly active users (MAUs) hit 64 million, an increase of 31% from the same quarter last year, showing that the company is rapidly scaling this lucrative business that provides financing options for customers.
Finally, it is important to note that e-commerce in Latin America remains in its early stages, as much of the region is still building out the infrastructure needed to support an e-commerce economy. MercadoLibre is at the forefront, and is rapidly expanding its logistics network to lower its fulfillment costs and expand free shipping wherever possible.
All this said, MercadoLibre stock does carry some risk. Most notably, Latin American economies tend to be volatile. Any economic downturn could quickly cut into MercadoLibre's rapid growth.
Therefore, investors should exercise caution. While MercadoLibre's long-term prospects remain bright, one should be prepared for volatility in the short term.
Rocket Lab USA
The company provides small satellite launches using reusable rockets, a similar business model to one of its chief competitors, SpaceX -- although on a much smaller scale. Last year, Rocket Lab launched 16 missions, while SpaceX launched 138.
Nevertheless, there is a growing demand for space launches due to the ever-increasing amount of space-based infrastructure. Consider all the familiar tools that rely on space equipment: meteorological satellites, navigational aides, mapping and reconnaissance equipment, and communication links. As the demand for these tools increases down on Earth, there is a need to deploy more -- and improved -- equipment in space.
Furthermore, there is also a pressing need for military and intelligence equipment in space. As such, Rocket Lab has partnered with the U.S. Department of Defense, Space Force, and various defense contractors.
Turning to the company's stock, Rocket Lab's performance has been excellent. Its stock has advanced by nearly 600% over the last 12 months. The main driver has been its strong revenue growth. Trailing-12-month revenue has increased from $327 million to $466 million, an increase of 43%.
However, the company's lack of profits and negative free cash flow will rule this stock out for some investors. In addition, while the space economy is a new field, it doesn't lack competition. Specifically, SpaceX and Blue Origin -- backed by their deep-pocketed founders of Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, respectively -- are fierce challengers in this sector.
Notwithstanding these risks, Rocket Lab does present an opportunity for investors who are bullish on the space economy. There will be no shortage of demand for space launches going forward, and if Rocket Lab can continue to deliver successful missions, the company's key metrics -- and stock price -- should continue to soar as well.

1. MercadoLibre
MercadoLibre (NASDAQ: MELI) is often called the "Amazon of Latin America." That's a pretty good description. Like Amazon, MercadoLibre operates a huge e-commerce platform, an advertising platform, and logistics services. The company is also a leading fintech services provider in Latin America.
The stock has skyrocketed more than 50% year to date. This impressive performance comes on the heels of a doubling of MercadoLibre's share price between the beginning of 2023 and the end of 2024.
MercadoLibre's booming business is driving those gains. In the first quarter of 2025, revenue increased 37% year over year. Advertising revenue soared 50% on a constant-currency basis. The company's fintech credit portfolio grew a whopping 75% to $7.8 billion.
I think MercadoLibre is only scratching the surface of its potential, though. Despite its stellar growth, the company still has less than 5% of the total retail market in Latin America. Its fintech business has a tremendous opportunity to disrupt the region's banking industry.
2. Alibaba Group
Another company is sometimes referred to as the "Amazon of China" -- Alibaba Group (NYSE: BABA). Alibaba operates a huge e-commerce platform. It's a leading cloud services provider in Asia. The company has a large digital media and entertainment business.
Unlike many growth stocks, Alibaba didn't take off in spectacular fashion in 2023 and 2024. However, it's been a different story this year. The Chinese tech stock is up close to 35% so far in 2025. Before President Trump announced steep tariffs in early April, Alibaba's share price had skyrocketed as much as 69% year to date.
Strong demand for artificial intelligence (AI) has been the key to Alibaba's recent success. The company's cloud unit revenue jumped 18% year over year in Q1. AI-related product revenue for the business grew by triple digits for the seventh consecutive quarter.
I predict that AI will continue to serve as a major tailwind for Alibaba, especially with the rise of Chinese AI models such as DeepSeek's R1. I also view the stock's valuation as a big plus. Alibaba's shares trade at only 11.7 times forward earnings. Its price-to-earnings-to-growth (PEG) ratio, which is based on the five-year earnings growth projections of analysts surveyed by LSEG, is 0.91. Any PEG ratio below 1.0 is considered to be an attractive valuation.
3. Intuit
Intuit (NASDAQ: INTU) is probably a more familiar name to many U.S. investors than MercadoLibre or Alibaba. Around 100 million customers use its TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp software applications.
2025 didn't start so great for Intuit. Its share price fell by a double-digit percentage during the first few months of the year. However, the stock has been on a tear since early April and is now up close to 25% year to date.
That kind of rebound isn't surprising, considering how well Intuit's business is doing across the board. Total revenue jumped 15% year over year in the company's fiscal third quarter, which ended April 30. Diluted earnings per share soared 19%. Intuit's consumer group revenue rose 11%. Its global business solutions group revenue vaulted 19% higher. Credit Karma was the brightest star of all, with revenue up 31% year over year.
I think Intuit's platforms are ideally suited for integrating AI. That's exactly what the company is doing, including developing AI agents to automate more tasks. I expect Intuit's profitability will continue to impre significantly over the next decade and beyond, thanks to AI.
