The company provided $27.9 million of net cash from operating activities as of July 5, 2025. Inventory remained almost flat year over year as of July 5, 2025.
The company repurchased nearly 0.2 million shares of its Class A common stock during the year-to-date period for $1.1 million, bringing cumulative repurchases under its existing $50 million authorization to $41.2 million.
What EWCZ’s Expects for 2025?
For 2025, European Wax Center now projects system-wide sales in the bracket of $940-$950 million compared with the earlier anticipation of $940-$960 million. Total revenues are now likely to be $205-$209 million compared with $210-$214 million expected earlier, while same-store sales are now forecast to be 0-1% compared with the prior expectation of 0-2%.
EWCZ continues to expect adjusted net income of $31-$33 million and adjusted EBITDA of $69-$71 million.
For 2025, management still estimates franchisees to open 10-12 new centers and shutter 40-60 centers, translating to 28-50 net center closings. EWCZ expects 15-16 net center closings in the third quarter. As of Aug. 12, 2025, no centers have been opened while three have been closed.

Monster Beverage Corporation (MNST) delivered solid second-quarter 2025 earnings, wherein the bottom line beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate and increased year over year.
The company has seen growth opportunities in household penetration and per capita consumption, and robust demand for energy drinks. It has introduced several products in the reported quarter. In the United States, Monster Energy Ultra Blue Hawaiian has been among the top-selling products. Innovation has been playing a major role. MNST continues to launch its affordable energy brands, Predator and Fury, in various markets across the world. It remains excited about its innovation pipeline in 2025.
Monster Beverage’s adjusted earnings of 52 cents per share beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 48 cents and increased 23% year over year. Driven by solid earnings, MNST’s shares have risen more than 7% in after-hours trading yesterday. Monster Beverage’s shares have gained 27.2% in the past six months compared with the industry’s 4% growth.

In Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), net sales increased 26.8%, while in Asia-Pacific (APAC), sales rose 11.6%. Sales in Latin America, including Mexico and the Caribbean, fell 7.8%. Per Nielsen, in the United States, for the reported 30-week period through July 26, 2025, sales in dollars in the energy drink category comprising energy shots, for the entire outlets combined, with convenience, grocery, drug and mass merchandisers, jumped 13.2% year over year.
Trends in the company’s U.S. business have been solid with acceleration from early 2025. In EMEA, the energy drink category for the tracked markets in the 30-week period, which differ from country to country, rose approximately 15.4% on a currency-neutral basis. In APAC, the energy drink category, Circana and INTAGE for MNST’s tracked channels for the 30-week period that differ from country to country, grew 20.9% year over year, FX neutral.
In LATAM, the energy game category for the track markets for the three months ended June 30, 2025, jumped 13.9% year over year. Growth has been solid in local currencies across EMEA, Asia Pacific and Latin America.

Net sales in the US and Canada in the second quarter jumped 8.6% year over year in dollars, thanks to the Monster Energy Ultra family. Per the Nielsen reports for the 30 weeks ended July 19, 2025, in the United States, the Monster Energy Ultra Family came in as the third largest stand-alone energy drink brand in dollar sales in the energy drink category following Red Bull and Monster for the entire outlets combined, like convenience, grocery, drug and mass merchandisers, including energy shots.
Net sales to customers outside the United States climbed 15.8% to $864.2 million, representing about 41% of the total net sales. On a currency-adjusted basis, sales to customers outside the United States jumped 16.5% to $790.5 million.
Insights Into MNST’s Segmental Performance
Monster Energy Drinks: Sales of this segment, which includes Monster Energy drinks, Reign Total Body Fuel high-performance energy drinks, Reign Storm total wellness energy drinks and Bang Energy drinks, jumped 11.2% to $1.94 billion. The segment’s sales included a negative impact of $4.8 million from adverse currency rates. On a currency-adjusted basis, net sales for the segment rose 11.4%.
Strategic Brands: The segment includes a range of energy drink brands acquired from Coca-Cola, as well as the company’s affordable energy brands, Predator and Fury. The segment’s net sales jumped 18.9% year over year to $129.9 million. Currency headwinds hurt sales by $0.2 million. On a currency-adjusted basis, net sales for the segment increased 19.1%.
Alcohol Brands: Net sales for the segment, which includes several craft beers, flavored malt beverages and hard seltzers, dipped 8.6% year over year to $38 million.
Other: Net sales for the segment, which includes some products of American Fruits & Flavors, LLC, sold to independent third parties (AFF Third-Party Products), dropped 8.5% year over year to $6.4 million.
MNST’s Costs & Margins
The cost of sales was $935.2 million, up 6.1% year over year. The company’s gross margin expanded 210 basis points (bps) year over year to 55.7%, buoyed by pricing, supply-chain optimization and reduced input costs, partly offset by geographical sales mix and increased promotional allowances.
Adjusted operating expenses increased 8.4% to $497.7 million, while the metric, as a percentage of net sales, was 24%, declining 20 bps from the year-earlier quarter. Distribution expenses dipped 6.2% to $82 million and, as a percentage of net sales, contracted 70 bps to 3.9%.
Selling expenses inched up 2.5% to $196.9 million, but fell 80 bps to 9.3% as a percentage of net sales. General and administrative expenses for the second quarter were $265.9 million, up 25% from the year-ago quarter.
Adjusted operating income, exclusive of the Alcohol Brands segment, jumped 21.5% to $667.9 million.

Monster Beverage Q2 Earnings Beat, Higher Sales Across Most Segments Aid

Tyson Foods, Inc. (TSN) reported third-quarter fiscal 2025 results, with the top and bottom lines increasing year over year and surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate.
With consumer demand for protein remaining robust, TSN’s diversified multi-channel, multi-protein portfolio positions it well to meet this need while solidifying its status as a leading global food company.
TSN’s Quarterly Performance: Key Insights
Tyson Foods posted adjusted earnings of 91 cents per share, which topped the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 72 cents. The bottom line jumped 4.6% from the year-ago quarter’s reported figure of 87 cents.
Total sales of $13,884 million rose 4% year over year. The top line surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $13,628 million. Chicken: Sales in the segment improved to $4,220 million from $4,076 million reported in the year-ago quarter. Volumes grew 2.4% and the average price was up 1.1%.
Prepared Foods: Sales in the segment came in at $2,515 million, up from $2,432 million reported in the year-ago quarter. Volumes dipped 2.3% and the average price rose 5.7%.
International/Other: Sales in the segment were $557 million compared with $582 million reported in the year-ago quarter. Volumes fell 0.8%, whereas the average sales price declined 3.5%.
Tyson Foods’ Other Financial Updates
The company exited the quarter with cash and cash equivalents of $1.5 billion, long-term debt of $8.2 billion and total shareholders’ equity (including non-controlling interests) of $18.5 billion. For the nine months ended June 28, 2025, cash provided by operating activities amounted to $846 million.
Liquidity was $4 billion as of June 28. Management expects total liquidity to stay above the company’s minimum target of $1 billion in fiscal 2025. Tyson Foods projects capital expenditure at or below $1.0 billion for fiscal 2025, involving investments in profit-improvement projects and projects for maintenance and repair. Free cash flow in fiscal 2025 is expected to be in the range of $1-$1.3 billion.
What to Expect From TSN in FY25?
For fiscal 2025, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) suggests domestic protein production (beef, pork, chicken and turkey) to be relatively flat from the fiscal 2024 level.
For the Beef segment, the USDA projects domestic protein production to dip nearly 2% year over year, with an adjusted operating loss of $375-$475 million in fiscal 2025. For Pork, the USDA projects domestic production to grow slightly, with adjusted operating income of $175-$200 million. For Chicken, the USDA expects domestic protein production to grow about 2% year over year and adjusted operating income of $1.3-$1.4 billion.
For Prepared Foods, management projects adjusted operating income of $925 million-1 billion for fiscal 2025, while for International/Other, it expects improved results from foreign operations on an adjusted basis during fiscal 2025.
Total company revenue growth is anticipated in the range of 2-3% in fiscal 2025 compared with the fiscal 2024 level. Adjusted operating income is envisioned in the $2.1-$2.3 billion band. It forecasts net interest expenses to be $375 million and the adjusted effective tax rate to be nearly 25% for fiscal 2025.

The market expects Mondelez (MDLZ) to deliver a year-over-year decline in earnings on higher revenues when it reports results for the quarter ended June 2025. This widely-known consensus outlook is important in assessing the company's earnings picture, but a powerful factor that might influence its near-term stock price is how the actual results compare to these estimates.
The stock might move higher if these key numbers top expectations in the upcoming earnings report, which is expected to be released on July 29. On the other hand, if they miss, the stock may move lower.

MDLZ Named A Top Socially Responsible Dividend Stock

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) Thursday closed up +0.54%, the Dow Jones Industrials Index ($DOWI) (DIA) closed up +0.52%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) closed up +0.74%. September E-mini S&P futures (ESU25) rose +0.59%, and September E-mini Nasdaq futures (NQU25) rose +0.77%.
Stocks rallied on Thursday, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 indexes posting new record highs. Signs that the US economy is holding up, despite tariff uncertainty, boosted stocks. Positive economic news Thursday included a decline in weekly jobless claims to a 3-month low, a stronger-than-expected retail sales report, and a rise in the Philadelphia Fed index to a 5-month high.

Stocks added to their gains Thursday afternoon on dovish comments from San Francisco Fed President Mary Daly, who said the most recent set of rate projections from Fed officials, issued in June, offered a "reasonable outlook" in pointing to two 25 bp rate cuts by year's end. She added that the Fed should not wait too long before moving on rates, because if they wait until inflation is 2%, they've "likely injured the economy in some way that was completely unnecessary."
On the negative side, health insurers retreated on Thursday, led by a -12% plunge in Elevance Health after the company cut its earnings outlook for the year. Also, hawkish comments from Fed Governor Adriana Kugler were bearish for stocks when she said the Fed should keep interest rates on hold "for some time," citing accelerating inflation as tariffs start to boost prices.
US weekly initial unemployment claims unexpectedly fell -7,000 to a 3-month low of 221,000, showing a stronger labor market than expectations of an increase to 233,000.
US June retail sales rose +0.6% m/m, stronger than expectations of +0.1% m/m, and June retail sales ex-autos rose +0.5% m/m, stronger than expectations of +0.3% m/m.
The US June import price index ex-petroleum was unchanged m/m, weaker than expectations of +0.2% m/m.
The US July Philadelphia Fed business outlook survey rose +19.9 to a 5-month high of 15.9, stronger than expectations of -1.0.
The US July NAHB housing market index rose +1 to 33, right on expectations.
On the trade front, President Trump said late Wednesday that he intends to send a tariff letter to more than 150 countries notifying them their tariff rates could be 10% or 15%, effective August 1, and that the group was "not big countries who don't do that much business with the US."
Also, signs that the US could ease some of its export restrictions on semiconductor chips to China are bullish for chip makers. Commerce Secretary Lutnick said Nvidia could soon resume sales of its less advanced H20 chips to China, and Advanced Micro Devices received similar assurances from the Commerce Department, a sign that the US may be in the process of negotiating a grand trade deal with China. Treasury Secretary Bessent is expected to meet his Chinese counterpart, Vice Premier He Lifeng, within "the next couple of weeks" and signaled the US will likely extend an August 12 deadline for the easing of sky-high tariffs.
However, stocks were undercut by negative trade news that emerged last week and during this past weekend. Over the weekend, President Trump announced that the US will impose 30% tariffs on US imports from the European Union and Mexico, effective August 1. Mr. Trump said last Thursday that a 35% tariff on some Canadian products would take effect on August 1, up from the current 25%. Last week, Mr. Trump imposed a 50% tariff on copper imports, which will include semi-finished goods, and stated that drug companies could face tariffs as high as 200% on imports if they don't relocate production to the US within the next year.
Federal funds futures prices are discounting the chances for a -25 bp rate cut at 3% at the July 29-30 FOMC meeting and 58% at the following meeting on September 16-17.
The markets will focus on any fresh news regarding tariffs or trade deals during the remainder of this week. On Friday, June housing starts are expected to climb +3.6% m/m to 1.300 million, and June building permits are expected to slip -0.5% m/m to 1.387 million. Also, the University of Michigan's US July consumer sentiment index is expected to climb +0.8 to 61.5.
Earnings season began in earnest this week with a focus on big bank earnings results. The consensus is for S&P 500 companies to show Q2 earnings growth of +2.8% y/y, the smallest increase in two years, according to Bloomberg Intelligence. Also, only six of the eleven S&P 500 sectors are projected to post an increase in earnings, the fewest since Q1 of 2023, according to Yardeni Research.
Overseas stock markets on Thursday settled higher. The Euro Stoxx 50 closed up +1.49%. China's Shanghai Composite closed up +0.37%. Japan's Nikkei Stock 225 closed up +0.60%.
Interest Rates
September 10-year T-notes (ZNU25) on Thursday closed down -3.5 ticks. The 10-year T-note yield rose +0.8 bp to 4.463%. T-notes on Thursday posted modest losses following stronger-than-expected US economic news, including June retail sales, weekly initial unemployment claims, and the July Philadelphia Fed manufacturing survey, which signaled a hawkish tone for Fed policy. Also, Thursday's rally in the S&P 500 to a new all-time high reduced safe-haven demand for T-notes. In addition, hawkish comments from Fed Governor Adriana Kugler weighed on T-notes when she said the Fed should keep interest rates on hold "for some time." Finally, rising inflation expectations undercut T-notes when the 10-year breakeven inflation rate rose to a 4.75-month high of 2.450% on Thursday.
Losses in T-notes were limited Thursday on carryover support from late Wednesday when President Trump said he has "no plans" on firing Fed Chair Powell. T-notes also found support on signs of easing price pressures after Thursday's news showed the June import price index ex-petroleum rose less than expected.
European government bond yields on Thursday were mixed. The 10-year German bund yield fell -1.3 bp to 2.675%. The 10-year UK gilt yield rose to a 6-week high of 4.678% and finished up +1.7 bp to 4.655%.
Swaps are discounting the chances at 1% for a -25 bp rate cut by the ECB at the July 24 policy meeting.
US Stock Movers
United Airlines Holdings (UAL) closed up more than +3% to lead airline stocks higher after CEO Kirby said the second half of the year has become more predictable and the company has potential "upside" to beat its earnings targets as customers returned to booking flights. Also, Alaska Air Group (ALK) closed up more than +3% and American Airlines Group (AAL) closed up more than +2%. In addition, Delta Air Lines (DAL) closed up more than +1%.
PepsiCo (PEP) closed up more than +7% to lead gainers in the Nasdaq 100 after reporting Q2 net revenue of $22.73 billion, above the consensus of $22.32 billion.
Snap-on (SNA) closed up more than +7% after reporting Q2 net sales of $1.18 billion, stronger than the consensus of $1.16 billion.
Steven Madden Ltd (SHOO) closed up more than +6% after Citigroup upgraded the stock to buy from neutral with a price target of $32.
CSX Corp (CSX) closed up more than +4% after Semafor reported that Union Pacific is exploring an acquisition of the company.
Travelers Cos (TRV) closed up more than +3% to lead gainers in the Dow Jones Industrials after reporting Q1 core EPS of $6.51, well above the consensus of $3.60.
Mondelez International (MDLZ) closed up more than +3% after Jefferies upgraded the stock to buy from hold with a price target of $78.
Health insurance providers are sliding today, led by a -12% plunge in Elevance Health (ELV) to lead losers in the S&P 500 after cutting its earnings outlook for the year to "approximately" $30 per share, well below a previous forecast of $34.15 to $34.85 per share. Also, Molina Healthcare (MOH) closed down more than -5% and Centene (CNC) closed down more than -4%. In addition, Cigna Group (CI) closed down more than -2% and Humana (HUM) closed down more than -1%. Finally, UnitedHealth Group (UNH) closed down more than -1% to lead losers in the Dow Jones Industrials.
Sonic Automotive (SAH) closed down -10% after JPMorgan Chase downgraded the stock to underweight from overweight with a price target of $72.
Abbott Laboratories (ABT) closed down more than -8% after reporting Q2 organic sales of +6.90%, below the consensus of +7.03% and forecasting full-year organic sales of +6% to +7%, weaker than the consensus of +7.37%.
Starwood Property Trust (STWD) closed down more than -5% after selling over 25.5 million shares of its common stock in an underwritten public offering overnight between $19.91 to $20.33 a share, below Wednesday's closing price of $20.85.
Shake Shack (SHAK) closed down more than -1% after Jeffries downgraded the stock to underperform from hold with a price target of $120.
Zoetis (ZTS) closed down -1% after Leerink Partners downgraded the stock to market perform from outperform.
