Shares of the telemedicine company have slid steadily since the FDA announced early last year that Novo Nordisk's (NYSE: NVO) Wegovy and Ozempic GLP-1 weight loss drugs are no longer in shortage. Since that news came out, the writing has seemed to be on the wall for Hims & Hers Health and its business of compounding copycat weight loss drugs for direct sale to patients.

Throw in a bit of price competition from branded manufacturers of GLP-1 drugs, Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly (NYSE: LLY), who have cut prices as much as 80%, and Hims' growth slowed significantly in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Hims & Hers 2025 earnings
Hims & Hers reported its earnings for Q4 and all of 2025 Monday night. The company "beat earnings," with quarterly profit of $0.08 per share but missed slightly on sales, reporting $617.8 million. (Wall Street wanted to see $618.7 million.)
Sales for the quarter grew 28%, which sounds like a lot -- but relative to a full-year sales growth rate of 59%, it appears quarterly growth got cut in half. What's more, the slowdown may be spilling into 2026. While on the one hand, Hims insists it will beat forecasts for the year, generating about $2.8 billion in sales, management said its Q1 2026 sales will come in between $600 million and $625 million -- missing analyst forecasts of $654 million.
Investors were underwhelmed by the report, selling off Hims' stock by more than 8% Monday night. Given there are also worries the FDA may ban Hims & Hers from continuing to sell GLP-1 compounds, it's understandable investors are nervous.
But here's the thing: While selling copycat Ozempic is a big part of Hims & Hers Health's business, it's far from the only thing this healthcare stock does.
Hims & Hers & not just GLP-1 copycats
In its 10-K filing accompanying the earnings report, Hims & Hers confirmed it grew sales 59% in 2025, from $1.5 billion to $2.3 billion. 40% of sales came from the company's Hers brand, and GLP-1 sales drove the growth at Hers. But even so, "The majority of our total United States Revenue came from non-GLP-1 offerings."
In a postearnings conference call investor relations head Bill Newby went so far as to say that "the vast majority of the revenue is made from the non-GLP-1 business" and "we expect that trend to continue."
What does this mean for investors? Management's being coy about exactly how much of its sales come from copycat Ozempic. Whatever the number is, however, management seems confident it can still do $2.8 billion in sales this year, even without much help from GLP-1 sales. But the more sales Hims got from GLP-1s last year, which may disappear this year, the more impressive the growth rate would have to be to still hit $2.8 billion.
Despite the GLP-1 fiasco, Hims & Hers stock is growing like a weed. The younger you are as an investor, the longer you'll have to profit from this growth.

Hims & Hers: The Telehealth Growth Story Younger Investors Can't Afford to Ignore

(RTTNews) - Eli Lilly and Company (LLY) on Thursday reported positive results from its Phase 3 ACHIEVE-3 trial evaluating orforglipron in adults with type 2 diabetes inadequately controlled on metformin, compared with oral semaglutide.
In the 52-week study, orforglipron outperformed semaglutide across the primary and all key secondary endpoints, showing significantly greater reductions in A1C and body weight. Specifically, orforglipron lowered A1C by 2.2%, compared with a 1.4% reduction for semaglutide.
The results were published today in The Lancet.
Lilly has submitted orforglipron to regulators in over 40 countries and plans to submit for U.S. approval for type 2 diabetes later this year.

This class of drugs has been in high demand among people aiming to shed pounds.
One of the biggest growth markets in the pharmaceutical industry today is that of weight loss drugs. Novo Nordisk got the ball rolling when it launched Ozempic back in 2017. The drug, part of the GLP-1 class, was approved for type 2 diabetes but also proved to be useful for weight loss. Novo Nordisk followed up by winning approval for the same ingredient -- semaglutide -- under the name Wegovy for weight loss.
Eli Lilly (NYSE: LLY) soon joined with tirzepatide, commercialized as Mounjaro for type 2 diabetes and as Zepbound for obesity. Though Novo led the market in the early days, Lilly soon gained ground -- and slipped ahead. Today, Lilly holds a 60% share of the U.S. market for these kinds of drugs.

And now Lilly just took two major steps forward in this billion-dollar market. Here's what you need to know.
How GLP-1 drugs work
Let's start with a few quick notes on GLP-1 drugs and Lilly's path along this road so far. GLP-1 drugs soared to popularity with the release of Ozempic as doctors and patients realized their weight-loss potential. These drugs act on hormonal pathways involved in digestion, so they help in the key areas of appetite and blood sugar control.
Today's drugs come in injectable format, administered on a weekly basis. The one exception is the recently approved Wegovy pill -- and regulators are reviewing Lilly's oral weight loss candidate, orforglipron, right now, so a second pill option may be on the horizon.
Novo held the first-to-market advantage, but in recent years, Lilly's drugs have taken the lead. One reason for this may be due to efficacy. In a head-to-head trial, for example, Zepbound helped patients lose more weight than Wegovy. All of this has resulted in soaring revenue and stock performance for Lilly.
Now, let's turn to the latest pieces of news that could push this company further ahead. Novo's CagriSema, a GLP-1 and amylin analogue combo that's currently under regulatory review, didn't beat Lilly's Zepbound in a phase 3 trial. CagriSema -- in a dose of 2.4 mg of cagrilintide and 2.4 mg of semaglutide -- delivered weight loss of 23% over 84 weeks. That's compared to weight loss of more than 25% for 15 mg dosage of tirzepatide.
A positive sign for Lilly
CagriSema, which acts on additional pathways involved in weight control, has been seen as a potential product to rival the Lilly drug -- so this latest trial result isn't good news for Novo. But it is positive for Lilly, as it adds to evidence that Zepbound may be the most effective drug available.
The second piece of news isn't related to efficacy, but it is related to something else that's important to patients: convenience. Lilly just released a new Zepbound format that holds a month's worth of doses in a single pen. This could make treatment easier for patients while they're traveling, for example, as they don't have to carry around as many devices. Mounjaro already is available in this format, called the KwikPen.
This latest news, reinforcing the efficacy and convenience of Zepbound, clearly should work in Lilly's favor in the quarters to come. It's important to remember that this market is growing too, with analysts expecting it to reach nearly $100 billion over the coming four years. And Lilly's orforglipron and farther down the road, other potential drugs could add to growth as this story unfolds.
Facing competition
Of course, Lilly likely will face increasing competition in the coming years. Novo remains a significant player, and other potential market participants -- from Pfizer to Viking Therapeutics -- could take some market share. These companies and others are studying weight loss candidates in clinical trials right now.
Lilly could lose momentum if a rival enters the market with a stronger product. So far, though, Lilly's current products and its pipeline, as well as its massive investments in manufacturing, show its ambition in this market. And that means it has a solid chance of staying ahead and delivering long-term growth to investors.

Novo Nordisk is one of the world's largest producers of insulin, a vital medication for those with diabetes. Generally speaking, when you take insulin, you need it regularly. As such, Novo Nordisk has a very attractive recurring revenue stream. That's an important foundation for the business.

One area where this pharmaceutical company's foundation shows up is in its dividend payout ratio. Despite falling behind Eli Lilly in the GLP-1 weight-loss drug space, Novo Nordisk's trailing 12-month payout ratio is a very comfortable 40%. In fact, it has never risen above 50%, even during the deep 2007 to 2009 recession.
Meanwhile, the dividend yield is well above the market at 3.9%. For reference, the average pharmaceutical stock has a yield of 1.7%. So the high yield here is well supported, and that's largely thanks to the company's strong diabetes business.
GLP-1 drugs are important, too
That said, investors shouldn't ignore that Novo Nordisk is also a GLP-1 drug stock. Eli Lilly has taken the lead, but Novo Nordisk remains an important player in the new drug niche. Notably, it recently launched the first GLP-1 pill, which should help it regain market share from Eli Lilly, at least in the short term. People prefer pills over shots, for obvious reasons.
The takeaway from Novo Nordisk's development of a GLP-1 pill is that it remains an innovative drug maker. The excitement around weight-loss drugs is so high that investors may be overlooking the company's long-term opportunities and fundamental business strengths. All Wall Street is seeing is the fact that Eli Lilly's GLP-1 drugs are performing better in the market right now.
Novo Nordisk's strong core business and ongoing innovation in a newly developing drug niche suggest this financially strong dividend stock is an attractive holding, no matter what the market is doing. Indeed, consumers are still going to need insulin during a bear market and people will probably still be looking to lose weight, too.

Novo Nordisk's (NYSE: NVO) shares have lagged the market over the past couple of years. However, the Denmark-based pharmaceutical specialist remains one of the undisputed leaders in the GLP-1 drug market. And analysts predict this niche will grow at a good clip over the next decade.

What would it take?
Novo Nordisk should be at the forefront of the GLP-1 boom over the next 10 years. The company's semaglutide, marketed under brands such as Wegovy, Ozempic, and Rybelsus, is one of the best-selling GLP-1 therapies. Novo Nordisk also has several pipeline candidates in this niche that should receive approval soon.
But even assuming near-perfect execution -- and granting that this market will reach the heights Wall Street expects -- the GLP-1 gold rush over the next decade is highly unlikely to lead to the kinds of returns needed to turn $100,000 into $1 million -- that's a 25.89% compound annual growth rate, something very few companies can achieve over long periods, even if they are performing well.
What's more, Novo Nordisk isn't exactly in the best of shape right now. It has been losing ground in the GLP-1 space to its biggest competitor, Eli Lilly. And even its next-gen weight loss medicine, CagriSema, failed to prove as effective in a phase 3 study when pitted against Eli Lilly's Zepbound, so the latter should keep its lead intact. Novo Nordisk's revenue will decline on a year-over-year basis in 2026, based on the company's projections.
The pharmaceutical leader could bounce back. It has a deep pipeline, the cash to pursue shrewd licensing deals and acquisitions to bolster it, and proven expertise in developing GLP-1 products. And although CagriSema did not match Zepbound, it still showed strong weight-loss results. Even so, more competition will likely mean less clinical differentiation and lower pricing power for the company -- something that will limit its upside. So, it's not realistic to expect Novo Nordisk to achieve the $100,000 to $1 million goal (or anything close) in the next decade.
Is the stock a buy?
Novo Nordisk has been a leader in the diabetes drug market for decades. The company is likely to remain so, and that's an area where there is still plenty of work to be done.
Novo Nordisk has also been looking to diversify its lineup, something it should gradually succeed in over the next five to 10 years. The stock might be struggling right now, but after the beating it took in recent years, it might be worth investing in, given its leadership in diabetes and weight loss and its deep pipeline. And for investors willing to hold the stock for a long time, the dividend can help boost returns over the decade and beyond.

Could Novo Nordisk Help Turn $100,000 Into $1 Million in the GLP‑1 Gold Rush?

A price war for weight-loss drugs is intensifying, and it's clear Eli Lilly (NYSE: LLY) investors weren't happy about it. On news that the company's arch-rival in the category had cut prices for several of its medications, those folks sold out of Eli Lilly stock to push it to a nearly 2% loss on Tuesday.
Slimming down
That rival is Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk, best-known for its Wegovy obesity treatment that directly competes with Eli Lilly's Zepbound. Early Tuesday morning, Novo Nordisk announced a set of price cuts to its leading products, including Wegovy.

The European company said that the list price for the medication -- in addition to that of its sibling drug indicated for diabetes, Ozempic, and related diabetes drug Rybelsus -- would be cut to $675 for a one-month supply. That represents quite a chop, as all three treatments are currently listed at over $1,000. Novo Nordisk said the changes would take effect on Jan. 1, 2027.
Similarly, Zepbound's list price at present is more than $1,000 per monthly supply.
No reason to panic
Understandably, investors fear that this latest (and rather aggressive) pricing move will put a serious dent in Eli Lilly's revenue. That'll happen in the weight-loss segment for sure; however, we have to keep this in perspective -- the company is massive and sprawling, with both commercialized and developmental products in many therapeutic areas. Its fortunes are therefore not dependent on how the drug is selling.
That said, Zepbound is quite the contributor to Eli Lilly's overall revenue. Its sales more than doubled year over year in the fourth quarter of 2025 to nearly $4.3 billion, accounting for 22% of the company's total top line.
So yes, Zepbound matters for the company, but a reduced sale price won't make Eli Lilly stock a sell. I feel this company's equity is still worth owning, given the size of both its commercial and developmental portfolios.

Novo Nordisk A/S (NVO) shares fell 16.4% after its obesity drug CagriSema underperformed Eli Lilly and Company (LLY) drug Zepbound in a head-to-head trial.
DoorDash, Inc. (DASH) shares fell 6.6% after halting operations in several locations due to an East Coast blizzard.
PayPal Holdings, Inc. (PYPL) shares rose 5.8% following a Bloomberg report that the payments company is drawing takeover interest.
Veris Residential, Inc. (VRE) shares surged 12.2% after agreeing to be acquired by a consortium led by Affinius Capital for $19 per share in cash.

If you're looking to capitalize on the rapidly growing market for weight loss drugs, you can do so in different ways. One strategy is to invest in companies like Eli Lilly or Novo Nordisk that already dominate this space. Another is to target smaller biotechs looking to disrupt this niche over the next five to 10 years.
The second approach is riskier, but arguably offers more upside potential. Why Viking Therapeutics?
According to one estimate, 277 obesity-drug candidates were in development as of mid-2025. Most will likely never earn approval. The majority of medicines that enter the clinic never do, and that's true across every therapeutic area.
Here's another known trend: the probability of success rises dramatically as new compounds move into later stages of development. Many of those weight-loss candidates are in preclinical or phase 1 clinical trials. Viking Therapeutics' leading weight-loss therapy, a GLP-1 medicine called VK2735, is already in phase 3 clinical trials. That doesn't guarantee approval, but it makes it far more likely than if the candidate were still just in phase 1.
VK2735's mid-stage results were strong; few drugmakers have posted phase 2 results of this caliber. Viking is developing VK2735 in both subcutaneous and oral formulations, and is exploring different combinations to help patients keep the weight off after they lose it, a challenge in the pharmaceutical industry.
Viking Therapeutics' promising leading candidate and multipronged approach says a lot about the company. If it can execute nearly flawlessly by posting strong phase 3 results for VK2735 and earning approval for the medicine in both formulations, it could carve out a niche for itself in this large and rapidly expanding market. That could lead to excellent financial results and superior stock-market returns over the next 10 years.
Things to keep in mind
Could Viking's stock skyrocket in the coming years? Yes. But keep in mind that if it does encounter clinical or regulatory setbacks, the stock could also sink. And now that the weight-loss market is becoming even more competitive, a clinical success could be a commercial failure.
Viking Therapeutics' VK2735 needs to pass phase 3 studies with flying colors to have a chance at making a serious dent in the market and at sending the company's shares to the moon. That's a fairly high bar. And that's why you should consider investing $5,000 in the stock only if you have above-average risk tolerance.

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) on Monday closed down -1.04%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average ($DOWI) (DIA) closed down -1.66%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) closed down -1.21%. March E-mini S&P futures (ESH26) fell -1.02%, and March E-mini Nasdaq futures (NQH26) fell -1.19%.
Stock indexes sold off sharply on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average falling to a 3-week low, as uncertainty over American trade policy sparked risk-off sentiment in asset markets. President Trump signed an executive order raising global tariffs under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974 to 15% from 10%, which he initially imposed after the Supreme Court struck down his global “reciprocal” tariffs last Friday.

AI jitters also weighed on stocks on Monday, pressuring the broader market. Delivery, payment, and software stocks retreated on Monday after Citrini Research published a report outlining the potential risks artificial intelligence could pose to various segments of the global economy.
Geopolitical risks are also negative for stocks. US-Iran nuclear talks are scheduled to resume on Thursday in Geneva, and Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi said he saw a “good chance” of a diplomatic solution to the standoff over his country’s nuclear program. Last Friday, President Trump said that he’s considering a limited military strike on Iran to ramp up pressure on the country to strike a deal over its nuclear program, and that he thought 10 to 15 days was “pretty much” the “maximum” he would allow for negotiations to continue.
The US Jan Chicago Fed National Activity Index rose +0.39 to a 9-month high of 0.18, stronger than expectations of 0.01.
US Dec factory orders fell -0.7% m/m, right on expectations.
The US Feb Dallas Fed manufacturing outlook level of general business activity survey rose +1.4 to a 7-month high of 0.2, stronger than expectations of -0.5.
Fed Governor Christopher Waller said his decision on whether to support an interest rate cut at the March FOMC meeting will hinge on labor market data for February.
The market’s focus this week will be on corporate earnings results and economic news. On Tuesday, the Conference Board’s Feb consumer confidence index is expected to climb +2.5 to 87.0. Tuesday evening, President Trump delivers his State of the Union address. On Wednesday, Nvidia releases its earnings results after the close. On Thursday, initial weekly unemployment claims are expected to climb by +10,000 to 216,000. On Friday, the Feb MNI Chicago PMI is expected to slip -1.8 to 52.2.
Q4 earnings season is nearing its end, with more than 80% of the S&P 500 companies having reported earnings results. Earnings have been a positive factor for stocks, with 74% of the 429 S&P 500 companies that have reported beating expectations. According to Bloomberg Intelligence, S&P earnings growth is expected to climb by +8.4% in Q4, marking the tenth consecutive quarter of year-over-year growth. Excluding the Magnificent Seven megacap technology stocks, Q4 earnings are expected to increase by +4.6%.
The markets are discounting a 5% chance for a -25 bp rate cut at the next policy meeting on March 17-18.
Overseas stock markets settled lower on Monday. The Euro Stoxx 50 fell from a new record high and closed down -0.28%. China’s Shanghai Composite is closed for the week-long Lunar New Year holidays. Japan’s Nikkei Stock 225 is closed for the Emperor’s birthday holiday.
Interest Rates
March 10-year T-notes (ZNH6) on Monday closed up by +14 ticks. The 10-year T-note yield fell -5.6 bp to 4.027%. Mar T-notes matched a 2.75-month high on Monday, and the 10-year T-note yield fell to a 2.75-month low of 4.016%. Monday’s equity market slump spurred some safe-haven demand for T-notes. Also, the action by President Trump to raise his global tariff rate to 15% from 10% under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974 may curb global growth and is supportive for T-notes.
European government bond yields moved lower on Monday. The 10-year German bund yield fell to a 2.75-month low of 2.710% and finished down -2.7 bp to 2.711%. The 10-year UK gilt yield dropped to a 14.25-month low of 4.310% and finished down -3.9 bp to 4.314%.
The German Feb IFO business climate survey rose +1.0 to a 6-month high of 88.6, stronger than expectations of 88.3.
Swaps are discounting a 2% chance of a -25 bp rate cut by the ECB at its next policy meeting on March 19.
US Stock Movers
Software stocks sold off on Monday and weighed on the broader market after Citrini Research published an article detailing a hypothetical scenario about the impact of AI on the global economy. Datadog (DDOG) closed down more than -11% to lead losers in the Nasdaq 100, and Atlassian (TEAM) and CrowdStrike Holdings (CRWD) closed down more than -10%. Also, Intuit (INTU) closed down more than -5%, and Oracle (ORCL) and Adobe (ADBE) closed down more than -4%. In addition, Salesforce (CRM), Palantir Technologies (PLTR), Service Now (NOW), Autodesk (ADSK), and Microsoft (MSFT) closed down by more than -3%.
Payment and delivery stocks retreated on Monday after Citrini Research published an article detailing a hypothetical scenario on the impact of AI on the global economy. Capital One Financial (COF) closed down more than -8%, American Express (AXP) closed down more than -7%, DoorDash (DASH) closed down more than -6%, and Mastercard (MA) closed down more than -5%. In addition, JPMorgan Chase (JPM), Visa (V), and Uber Technologies (UBER) closed down more than -4%.
Packaging stocks were under pressure on Monday after RISI reported that domestic containerboard prices had declined by $20 per ton m/m. As a result, Smurfit West Rock (SW), International Paper (IP), and Clearwater Paper (CLW) closed down more than -5%. Also, Packaging Corp of America (PKG) closed down more than -4%, and Greif Inc (GEF) closed down more than -1%.
Cryptocurrency-exposed stocks sold off on Monday as Bitcoin (^BTCUSD) fell more than -4% to a 2-week low. Coinbase Global (COIN) closed down more than -6%, and Strategy (MSTR) closed down more than -5%. Also, Galaxy Digital Holdings (GLXY) closed down more than -4%, MARA Holdings (MARA) closed down more than -1%, and Riot Platforms (RIOT) closed down -0.19%.
International Business Machines (IBM) closed down more than -13% to lead losers in the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrials after Anthropic said its Claude Code tool can help with modernizing COBOL, a programming language run mainly on IBM computers.
AppLovin (APP) closed down more than -9% after the SEC said its probe involving the company is “still active and ongoing.”
Monday.com (MNDY) closed down more than -7%, and Workday (WDAY) and DocuSign (DOCU) closed down more than -6% after Jeffries downgraded the stocks to hold from buy, citing “more persistent risk and negative sentiment” as a result of AI-disruption fears.
VF Corp (VFC) closed down more than -7% after JPMorgan Chase downgraded the stock to underweight from neutral with a price target of $18.
Arcellux Inc (ACLX) closed up more than +77% after Gilead Sciences agreed to buy the company for $7.8 billion, or $115 per share.
Veris Residential (VRE) closed up more than +12% after Affinius Capital, in partnership with Vista Hill Partners, agreed to acquire the company for about $3.4 billion or $19 per share.
PayPal Holdings (PYPL) closed up more than +5% to lead gainers in the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 after Bloomberg reported the company has attracted takeover interest from several potential buyers.
Akamai Technologies (AKAM) closed up more than +4% after Raymond James Financial raised its price target on the stock to $100 from $90.
Eli Lilly (LLY) closed up more than +4% after Novo Nordisk said its Cagrisema product fell short of Lilly’s Zepbound in a trial.
Domino’s Pizza (DPZ) closed up more than +4% after reporting Q4 revenue of $1.54 billion, better than the consensus of $1.52 billion.
