Historically, these top-performing stocks continue to outpace their peers. History shows that companies that conduct stock splits generate stock price increases of 25%, on average, in the year following the announcement, compared with average gains of 12% for the S&P 500, according to data compiled by BofA analyst Jared Woodard.

Let's look at one recent stock split that still has plenty of upside ahead, according to Wall Street.
AI in its DNA
Artificial intelligence (AI) has been all the rage in recent years, but CrowdStrike Holdings (NASDAQ: CRWD) has built a cybersecurity empire that leveraged AI before it was fashionable. The company's Falcon platform offers the most sophisticated threat protection available, infused with its Charlotte AI, which was designed for the world of generative and agentic AI.
The need for its services has never been greater. The global average cost of a data breach last year was $4.44 million, according to a report by IBM, and the threat worsens with every passing year. The abilities of AI to find exploits take that problem to the next level.
CrowdStrike has long been a trailblazer in the cybersecurity industry. It was recognized as a Leader in Gartner's 2026 Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection for the seventh consecutive year. Perhaps as importantly, the company was chosen as a Leader in Gartner's inaugural 2026 Magic Quadrant for Cyberthreat Intelligence Technologies, cited for its "completeness of vision" and "ability to execute."
The company's results are compelling. For its fiscal 2027 first quarter (ended April 30), CrowdStrike reported revenue that climbed 26% year over year to $1.39 billion, driven higher by record annual recurring revenue (ARR) that grew 24% to $5.5 billion. This drove adjusted earnings per share (EPS) up 51% to $1.10.
Wall Street is bullish about CrowdStrike's future. Of the 54 analysts who offered an opinion in June, 78% rate it a buy or strong buy. Furthermore, Wall Street's average price target on the stock is about $712, implying additional upside of 10% compared to Wednesday's closing price.
However, one analyst is much more bullish. Rosenblatt Securities analyst Catharine Trebnick has a price target of $825 -- the highest among her Wall Street peers -- suggesting CrowdStrike stock could climb as much as 27% from its current price (as of market close on Wednesday). The analyst called CrowdStrike's Q1 financial report "outstanding." She goes on to say that the "intersection of frontier AI models and cybersecurity has positioned the Falcon platform as critical AI infrastructure."
Her thinking is on point. When AI start-up Anthropic unveiled its Claude Mythos Preview, the frontier AI model revealed "thousands of high-severity vulnerabilities, including some in every major operating system and web browser" that hackers could use to gain access to critical systems. Anthropic formed a coalition to address these exploits, and CrowdStrike was one of just two cybersecurity companies invited to participate.
CrowdStrike's valuation is enough to make value investors cringe, so it likely won't be a fit for everyone. The stock is currently selling for 111 times forward earnings -- which is pricey to be sure. However, CrowdStrike has soared 362% over the past three years, more than five times the 71% return of the S&P 500, which underlines why it's worthy of a premium valuation.

Shares of Broadcom (NASDAQ: AVGO) received a big jolt following the release of the company's fiscal 2026 second-quarter results (for the three months ended May 3) on June 3. The chip designer missed Wall Street's revenue expectations, and investors weren't happy about the fact that it didn't raise its guidance for next year.
Broadcom stock was down nearly 8% the following day. However, savvy investors can consider this pullback as a buying opportunity, especially considering that Broadcom is benefiting big time from the growing demand for custom artificial intelligence (AI) processors and networking chips.

Let's look at the reasons why it makes sense to buy Broadcom stock following its latest slide.
Broadcom couldn't meet the market's ambitious targets, but the bigger picture remains intact
Broadcom's fiscal Q2 revenue increased 48% year over year to $22.2 billion. Its non-GAAP earnings per share increased at a stronger pace of 54% year over year to $2.44 per share. Analysts, however, were expecting $22.27 billion in revenue from Broadcom. What's more, Broadcom's forecast of $16 billion in AI chip revenue for the current quarter was also lower than the $16.36 billion consensus estimate.
Additionally, Broadcom stuck to its fiscal 2027 AI revenue forecast of $100 billion, and that didn't sit well with investors, who were expecting it to increase that number. However, a closer look at Broadcom's performance and guidance will make it clear the stock's slide isn't justified. After all, its growth more than doubled from the 20% year-over-year revenue jump it clocked in the same period last year. The bottom-line growth was also better than the 44% increase seen a year ago.
Broadcom's AI business was the primary driver of its growth. The company reported a 143% year-over-year increase in AI revenue to $10.8 billion, exceeding its $10.7 billion forecast. In fact, Broadcom's revenue and adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) margin exceeded the company's forecasts.
Still, the market's heightened growth expectations for AI infrastructure stocks explain the knee-jerk reaction to Broadcom's earnings report. Investors, however, shouldn't miss the fact that Broadcom delivered impressive revenue and earnings growth last quarter. More importantly, its guidance for $29.4 billion in revenue for the current quarter points to a stronger year-over-year jump of 84% in its top line.
This should pave the way for another big increase in Broadcom's earnings in the current quarter. Looking ahead, Broadcom anticipates $56 billion in AI chip revenue in fiscal 2026, which would be an increase of 180% over the prior year. This will be followed by another impressive increase in fiscal 2027 to at least $100 billion.
So, while management may not have increased its fiscal 2027 revenue guidance, it continues to point out that its AI revenue will "be in excess of $100 billion" next year. The open-ended nature of that guidance suggests Broadcom's AI revenue could indeed exceed $100 billion.
It won't be surprising to see the company's AI revenue indeed exceed that mark, as it is poised to ramp up the deployment of its custom AI processors and networking components for multiple customers, such as Anthropic, Google, OpenAI, Meta Platforms, and others. Broadcom management notes that it has six core customers who will ensure that its AI semiconductor continues to grow into fiscal 2028 as well.
It has added two new customers to whom it will start shipping later this year, and expects to accelerate shipments to them next year. Moreover, the health of the custom AI processor and networking markets suggests that Broadcom's solid growth will last well beyond the next couple of years.
According to Bloomberg, the custom AI processor market could clock an annual growth rate of 27% through 2033. Meanwhile, Gartner projects that demand for AI networking components could increase at an annual rate of 38% through 2029. So, it is easy to see why analysts have become more bullish about Broadcom's earnings growth prospects.
The stock's earnings trajectory suggests that a $1,000 stock price is indeed possible
One reason investors were expecting more from Broadcom was its expensive valuation. The stock trades at 64 times earnings. However, the forward earnings multiple of 34 is significantly lower, indicating that its bottom line is on track to grow significantly this year.
Broadcom's earnings per share increased by 40% in fiscal 2025 to $6.82. The consensus estimate of $11.62 per share points to a potential jump of 70% in the current fiscal year, followed by substantial increases over the next couple of years, as shown in the previous chart. Assuming its earnings indeed increase to $25.76 per share in fiscal 2028 and it trades at a significantly discounted 40 times earnings at that time (almost in line with the Nasdaq Composite index's average earnings multiple of 40), Broadcom could jump to just over $1,000 within the next three years.
That suggests potential upside of 2.5x, which is why the recent slide in this AI stock should be treated as a buying opportunity.

Memory prices are poised to keep growing at an incredible pace
The overwhelming demand for dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) and NAND flash memory from artificial intelligence (AI) data centers has created a severe shortage of memory chips. That's because AI chips deployed in data centers to run training and inference workloads require massive amounts of fast memory to transport enormous datasets.
As a result, memory manufacturers have been prioritizing the production of high-bandwidth memory (HBM), which is deployed in AI accelerators. Since each gigabyte of HBM needs thrice the wafer capacity of conventional DRAM, there is a shortage of general-purpose memory chips needed in smartphones and personal computers (PCs).
Also, the lead times for hard disk drives (HDDs) reportedly stretch until the end of 2027, fueled by the huge data storage demand in AI data centers. This has led to a shortage in the NAND flash market, as AI data centers have been locking in the available supply of enterprise solid-state drives (SSDs) to meet their requirements.
Not surprisingly, the rapid price increments in both DRAM and NAND are set to continue. Market research firm TrendForce estimates that DRAM prices could jump by 58%-63% in the second quarter of 2026. For comparison, DRAM prices rose by an estimated 98% in Q1. Meanwhile, the global NAND flash market's revenue rose 3.5x year over year in Q1. Even better, Gartner estimates that NAND flash prices could increase by 234% this year.
All this suggests Micron could crush Wall Street's expectations once again when it reports results.
Investors can expect another big earnings beat from Micron Technology
Micron has handsomely crushed Wall Street's earnings expectations in each of the past four quarters. The company expects $33.5 billion in revenue for fiscal Q3 at the midpoint of its guidance range, a potential increase of 3.6x over the year-ago period.
What's more, it anticipates a 10x year-over-year jump in non-GAAP earnings per share to $19.15 per share. The substantial jump in memory pricing in the first half of 2026, along with the expectation that shortages will persist until the end of the decade, paves the way for Micron to deliver stronger-than-expected results and guidance on June 24.
As this AI stock is trading at just 6 times forward earnings, it seems that the market may not have fully priced Micron's growth potential into the stock price. That's why growth-oriented investors can consider buying Micron's shares leading into its quarterly report, as its stunning rally is likely to receive a major shot in the arm after June 24.

There's no denying the ongoing threat of cybersecurity attacks. The global average cost of a data breach in 2025 was $4.44 million, according to a report by IBM, and the threat grows with each passing year. Add to that the threat of hackers deploying artificial intelligence (AI) to gain access, and the stakes have never been higher. Cybersecurity has become a crucial consideration for every business -- and CrowdStrike Holdings (NASDAQ: CRWD) is one of the undisputed leaders in the field.
The company's track record of consistent execution and strong business performance has fueled an impressive ascent. CrowdStrike stock has gained 394% over the past three years (as of this writing), driven by strong revenue and profit growth, thanks to growing demand for its cybersecurity solutions. In fact, since CrowdStrike's initial public offering (IPO) in mid-2019, the stock has soared from a debut price of $34 to more than $747, representing gains of 2,097%.

On Wednesday, in conjunction with its quarterly financial report, CrowdStrike announced plans for its first-ever stock split. This revelation has prompted investors to take a fresh look at the stock. Let's take a look to see what it means for investors.
The fine print
CrowdStrike announced that its board of directors had approved a 4-for-1 forward stock split, to be effected as a stock dividend -- meaning it doesn't require shareholder approval.
Stockholders of record as of June 25, 2026, will receive three additional shares of stock for each share they own after the market close on Wednesday, July 1. The stock is expected to begin trading on a split-adjusted basis on July 2.
CrowdStrike shareholders won't need to take any further action to receive the additional shares. Investment banks and brokerage firms will handle the details behind the scenes, and the additional stock will be added to investor accounts. The timing can vary from brokerage to brokerage, so the newly issued shares may not appear immediately on July 2. Rest assured, the additional shares will appear in due course.
The math is relatively simple. For each share of CrowdStrike stock a shareholder owns -- currently trading for roughly $748 per share (as of this writing) -- post-split, investors will hold 4 shares worth $187 each (4 x $187 = $748).
Is CrowdStrike stock a buy?
While the stock split alone isn't reason enough to buy CrowdStrike, there are other reasons to buy the cybersecurity expert. The company's recent financial report backs up that contention.
In its fiscal 2027 first quarter (ended April 30), CrowdStrike reported revenue that climbed 26% year over year to $1.39 billion, fueled by record annual recurring revenue (ARR) that grew 24% to $5.5 billion. This drove adjusted earnings per share (EPS) up 51% to $1.10. Analysts' consensus estimates called for revenue of $1.36 billion and adjusted EPS of $1.07, so CrowdStrike beat on both counts.
Beyond the financial results, CrowdStrike's bona fides are well documented. AI start-up Anthropic recently developed Claude Mythos Preview, a frontier AI model that discovered thousands of exploits hackers could use to gain access to critical systems -- including "every major operating system and web browser." The company formed a coalition of big tech companies to fix these loopholes, and CrowdStrike was one of just two cybersecurity leaders initially invited to participate.
If you have any doubts as to CrowdStrike's pedigree, consider this. The company was rated as a leader in Gartner's 2026 Magic Quadrant for endpoint protection, marking the seventh consecutive appearance.
Earlier this year, Forrester released a Total Economic Impact study that revealed that CrowdStrike customers achieved a 273% return on investment by "reducing breach risk and simplifying security operations."
Taken together, the company's long track record of execution, impressive share price gains, and industry accolades make CrowdStrike stock a winning investment.
There is the matter of the stock's valuation to consider, which will be off-putting to some investors. The surging price has led to a commensurate increase in its valuation. CrowdStrike is currently selling for 154 times forward earnings -- which is by no means cheap. However, the stock has soared 394% over the past three years, more than five times the 76% return of the S&P 500 during the same period, illustrating why it's worthy of a premium valuation.
The company's consistent track record makes it a great candidate for dollar-cost averaging, a strategy that lets you buy fewer shares when the price is higher and more when it's lower.

CrowdStrike Just Announced a 4-for-1 Stock Split and Robust Results. Is the Stock a Buy?

Is it time to reload your underinvested portfolio? That's not necessarily comfortable to do right now. Stocks are still well up from their late-March lows, teasing an unwinding of their 18% run-up since then. Many investors are understandably on the sidelines, waiting for a pullback.
If you dig deeper though, you'll find several solid growth stocks that aren't so overbought or overvalued that they're difficult to step into at this time. Here's a closer look at three of the best bets among these names.

1. Shopify
It's been a tough past few months for Shopify (NASDAQ: SHOP) shareholders. The stock's down 40% from its October peak due to a combination of factors ranging from slowing sales growth to rising interest rates to the advent of artificial intelligence (AI) that could take an unpredictable toll on its business. And these concerns are legitimate to be sure.
The resulting fears, however, are arguably overblown.
Take the prospect of AI allowing a competitor to creep onto its turf as an example. It could happen. But AI-powered computer coding is proving more problematic than it's worth, and it still doesn't meet online merchants' biggest need that Shopify does. That's facilitating payments.
To the extent AI can be of benefit to online sellers, Shopify is integrating this tech into its own offerings like its website builder and back-end user interface.
As for growth, if headwinds are blowing, it's not evident yet. The company's first-quarter revenue growth rate of 34% accelerated from Q4's growth pace of 31%. Although sales growth guidance in the "high-twenties" wasn't quite what analysts were hoping to hear for the quarter currently underway, it's still solid growth. It may also be an understated outlook just to ensure Shopify delivers a pleasant surprise in early August.
More than anything, own a stake in this company simply because this is the future of e-commerce. Consumers increasingly want to buy directly from authentic brands with stories they connect with. Sprawling, faceless e-commerce platforms like Amazon can't facilitate this. It takes online presence-building tools like Shopify's to let merchants give consumers the experience they actually want.
2. Nice
Although the company's been around since 1986 and has been using its current name since 1991, there's a decent chance you've never heard of Nice Ltd (NASDAQ: NICE). There's an even better chance that you've used the company's tech without even realizing it.
In simplest terms, Nice allows companies to efficiently and effectively offer customer service. Its current corporate clients include Walt Disney, PayPal, Tripadvisor, and more. Its platform facilitates more than 20 billion interactions per year, some of which are ultimately handled by live agents, while others are 100% automated.
And yes, it's incorporating artificial intelligence into its suite of solutions. Although AI/self-service tech only accounts for 14% of its total cloud revenue right now (and cloud makes up nearly 80% of its total top line), recurring revenue grew 66% year over year during the 2026 Q1, reaching an annualized run rate of $345 million.
And that's an important nuance to understand about this company. While last year's top-line growth of 9% isn't exactly "growthy," the September acquisition of agentic AI software specialist Cognigy is a major upgrade of Nice's offerings and a key reason the AI sliver of its cloud-based customer service solutions is experiencing accelerating growth. Already a leading name in the customer service technology market and regularly recognized as a top provider by Forrester, IDC, and Gartner, Nice is easily leveraging its existing reach to promote Cognigy's capabilities.
The stock's 65% pullback from its early 2024 peak -- when investors first began fearing this company's business could be upended by a then-new AI platform -- doesn't make nearly as much sense now as it did then.
3. Viking Therapeutics
Last but not least, add Viking Therapeutics (NASDAQ: VKTX) to your list of growth stocks to buy if you've got a couple thousand bucks you're looking to put to work for a while and don't mind taking some risk.
At first blush, the GLP-1 weight-loss drug market seems like a duopoly controlled by the pharmaceutical giants Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly. And in some ways, that's exactly how things are.
The more this business matures, however, the clearer its gaps become.
Enter Viking Therapeutics, specifically its VK2735. The injectable version of this weight-loss drug is currently in phase 3 trials, with an oral (pill) version of the same anti-obesity treatment expected to begin its phase 3 testing in the second half of this year.
What does the world need with another weight-loss option that looks and seems an awful lot like the two made by the two biggest names in the business? By being a dual agonist that also activates the GIP receptor, VK2735 is showing more efficacy at a faster rate, as well as better tolerability. It's also more flexible, allowing users to readily fine-tune their maintenance dosing once their target weight is reached.
It's not been all smooth sailing. Shares were nearly halved in August in response to a somewhat disappointing update of the drug's phase 3 results. The stock's made little net forward progress in the meantime.
Analysts aren't discouraged, though. The vast majority of them covering VKNG still consider it a strong buy, with a consensus target of $95.40, which is 200% above the ticker's current price. They're likely counting on a new entrant into this space with a different efficacy and tolerability profile able to partially penetrate an obesity drug market that Morgan Stanley believes could be worth nearly $200 billion by 2035. An orally administered pill version has its obvious marketability advantages as well.

Gartner (IT) is a Top-Ranked Momentum Stock: Should You Buy?

In the latest look at the underlying components of the S&P 500 ordered by largest market capitalization, Skyworks Solutions Inc (Symbol: SWKS) has taken over the #463 spot from Gartner Inc (Symbol: IT), according to The Online Investor.
Market capitalization is an important data point for investors to keep an eye on, for various reasons. The most basic reason is that it gives a true comparison of the value attributed by the stock market to a given company's stock. Many beginning investors look at one stock trading at $10 and another trading at $20 and mistakenly think the latter company is worth twice as much — that of course is a completely meaningless comparison without knowing how many shares of each company exist. But comparing market capitalization (factoring in those share counts) creates a true "apples-to-apples" comparison of the value of two stocks. In the case of Skyworks Solutions Inc (Symbol: SWKS), the market cap is now $11.83 billion, versus Gartner Inc (Symbol: IT) at $10.71 billion.

Another reason market capitalization is important is where it places a company in terms of its size tier in relation to peers — much like the way a mid-size sedan is typically compared to other mid-size sedans (and not SUV's). This can have a direct impact on which mutual funds and ETFs are willing to own the stock. For instance, a mutual fund that is focused solely on Large Cap stocks may for example only be interested in those companies sized $10 billion or larger. Another illustrative example is the S&P MidCap index which essentially takes the S&P 500 index and "tosses out" the biggest 100 companies so as to focus solely on the 400 smaller "up-and-comers" (which in the right environment can outperform their larger rivals). Skyworks Solutions Moves Up In Market Cap Rank, Passing Gartner

The artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure boom isn't slowing down, as major hyperscalers, governments, and AI companies continue to invest hundreds of billions of dollars to set up more AI data centers.
As reported by the Financial Times, the top four hyperscalers in the U.S. -- Google, Microsoft, Meta Platforms, and Amazon are going to spend $725 billion on capex this year, a 77% increase from last year's levels. The overall spending, however, could be much higher, as AI companies, neocloud infrastructure providers, and governments are also spending huge sums on the AI infrastructure build-out.

It is easy to see why companies continue to invest aggressively in AI data centers. The demand for AI computing capacity exceeds supply, and these hyperscalers need to satisfy more than $2 trillion in contractual backlogs based on their remaining performance obligations (RPO). Though there are several AI stocks you can buy to benefit from this $725 billion opportunity, we are going to take a closer look at four names that are well-positioned to make the most of the booming AI infrastructure supercycle.
These chip stocks will be definitive winners of the AI infrastructure boom
A nice chunk of the massive AI infrastructure spending this year will be allocated to semiconductors. Gartner estimates that non-memory semiconductors, such as graphics cards and custom AI processors, will generate a whopping $687 billion in revenue this year.
Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) should be one of the first semiconductor stocks you should consider buying to capitalize on the massive AI infrastructure investments. That's because the company continues to crush the competition in AI chips, as evident from its latest quarterly results. Nvidia's fiscal 2027 Q1 revenue (for the three months ended April 26) increased by 85% year over year to a record $81.6 billion.
The company is anticipating $91 billion in revenue for the current quarter, which points toward stronger growth of 95% year over year. This acceleration in Nvidia's growth can be attributed to the company's strong $1 trillion sales forecast for its Blackwell and Vera Rubin graphics cards in 2026 and 2027. Additionally, the company has unlocked a new growth opportunity by deciding to offer its server processors as a stand-alone product.
Nvidia sees a $200 billion revenue opportunity in the server processor market, which has been untapped by the company so far. Importantly, the company anticipates $20 billion in server CPU sales this year, complementing the healthy growth that it is going to witness in the data center GPU market.
On the other hand, Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) is also making solid progress in the AI chip space. Though its growth isn't as impressive as Nvidia's, the company's diversified presence in server processors, graphics cards, and edge devices, such as computers, positions it well to capitalize on AI chip growth across multiple applications.
AMD has sizable contracts to deploy AI chips for companies such as OpenAI and Meta Platforms. These contracts are set to kick off this year, which explains why AMD anticipates 46% year-over-year revenue growth in the current quarter, up from the 38% increase it saw in Q1. Analysts are anticipating a solid year-over-year increase of 76% in AMD's earnings this year to $7.37 per share, followed by notable jumps in 2027 and 2028.
If the company can indeed achieve $18.01 in earnings per share in 2028 and trades at 43 times earnings at that time (in line with the Nasdaq Composite index's average earnings multiple), its stock price could reach $774 within the next three years. That's a potential upside of 53%, giving investors a solid reason to buy it right away.
Broadcom (NASDAQ: AVGO) is another top name in the AI chip industry that's witnessing strong demand for its custom processors. Hyperscalers have been developing in-house data center processors, known as application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs), to run AI workloads cost-effectively in data centers.
Counterpoint Research estimates that shipments of ASICs for AI servers could triple by 2027, compared with 2024 levels. The firm expects Broadcom to remain the top custom AI processor company next year with an estimated 60% market share. Not surprisingly, Broadcom expects its AI chip revenue to soar to more than $100 billion in 2027. All three chip designers discussed above rely on the same foundry for manufacturing their chips -- Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (NYSE: TSM). TSMC, therefore, is the bigger pick-and-shovel AI infrastructure play, as strong demand for various types of AI chips will ensure healthy long-term growth for the foundry giant.
Moreover, TSMC is the world's largest foundry with a market share of 72%, according to Counterpoint Research. This makes TSMC a safe bet on the secular growth of the AI infrastructure market. In fact, the company sees its revenue from sales of AI accelerators increasing in the mid-to-high 50% range through 2029.
With TSMC stock trading at just 26 times forward earnings, it makes sense to buy this AI kingpin considering that its earnings are expected to jump to $24.95 per share in 2028, an increase of almost 2.5x compared to its earnings in 2025. Importantly, TSMC can sustain its solid earnings growth for a longer period, which means it has the potential to make investors significantly richer.
