The company serves original equipment manufacturers, original design manufacturers, cloud service providers, and other manufacturers and service providers. It has a strategic agreement with Synopsys, Inc. to develop EDA and IP solutions; and ARM that enables chip designers to build optimized compute SoCs on the Intel 18A process. Intel Corporation was incorporated in 1968 and is headquartered in Santa Clara, California.

Here's a big one: It's way more concentrated than most people realize. For example, check out its recent top 10 components:

Those weightings may not seem huge until you remember that there are about 490 other companies. These 10 above represent about 2% of the index's holdings but 39% of its total value. So if you invest in the S&P 500 because it's a great way to be quickly and easily invested in 500 of America's biggest companies, you are invested in those companies, but more than a third of your investment is in these 10 companies alone.

As you can see, you won't have much invested in the vast majority of the companies.
That can be OK, though. Maybe you like those tech heavyweights in the top 10 -- which include all of the "Magnificent Seven" stocks (Apple, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta Platforms, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Tesla). Maybe you want to invest in the 500 companies, with most of your money going to the biggest. After all, most of them have grown very rapidly over the past few years.
Keep in mind, though, that when there's a stock market crash or correction, as there invariably is now and then, those high-flying growth stocks are often the ones that fall harder. That, too, can be OK as long as you have a very long-term investing period. But it's not ideal.
Is there a better alternative to the S&P 500?
There is an alternative to standard S&P 500 index funds that's worth considering: An equal-weighted one. Standard ones are weighted by market cap, meaning the larger a company's market cap, the greater its weighting. The Invesco S&P 500 Equal Weight ETF (NYSEMKT: RSP), in contrast, is equal-weighted. The 500 components are rebalanced quarterly, so between rebalancings you'll see fluctuations in the weightings as various stocks gain or lose value from day to day and year to year. This kind of index fund has you much more invested in the other 490 stocks beyond the top 10 -- though, of course, each stock has a relatively minor weighting. But every promising stock will have an equal chance of outperforming for you.
An equal-weighted S&P 500 ETF may not grow as fast as a market-cap-weighted one, but during a market downturn, it may hold its value a bit more. Over the past 15 years, this ETF has averaged annual gains of about 12%, while the Vanguard S&P 500 ETF has averaged 14.4%. There's a trade-off, but it's not enormous. Give equal-weighted S&P 500 index funds some consideration.

Have S&P 500 Index Funds, Often Touted as the Best Stock Investments, Become Dangerous? There's a Worrisome Development -- and a Possibly Better Alternative.

After more than tripling in 2026, the stock already reflects a lot of optimism.
Most analyst rating changes move a single notch. So when one of the more closely followed semiconductor analysts skips the middle rating and jumps two rungs at once, it's worth a closer look -- not necessarily as a reason to buy, but as a window into how the thinking around artificial intelligence (AI) spending may be changing.
That's what happened on June 11, when Bank of America's Vivek Arya double-upgraded Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) to buy from underperform, lifting his price target to $135 from $96. Banks tend to reserve a move like that for moments when the thesis they had been betting against breaks. And it came after Intel had already more than tripled in 2026 -- less a call on a forgotten stock than a bet that the turnaround has further to run.

Intel shares rose about 6% in the following session, closing near $125 as of this writing.
The more useful question isn't whether the target is right. It's what the upgrade says about the next phase of the AI trade.
The case for the CPU
For most of the AI boom, the story has been about graphics processing units (GPUs) -- the chips that train large models. Central processors, Intel's historical stronghold, were an afterthought. The upgrade rests on the idea that this is starting to change.
The argument goes like this: as companies build "agentic" systems in which software agents carry out tasks independently, incremental work shifts to the central processors to coordinate those agents.
If that shift plays out, the market for server processors will get much bigger. Indeed, Bank of America now pegs the market at more than $170 billion by 2030, up from a prior estimate of around $125 billion, and sees Intel capturing roughly a quarter of it.
Intel's own recent numbers lend the idea some support.
In the first quarter of 2026 (the period ended March 28, 2026), the company's data center and AI revenue rose 22% year over year to about $5.1 billion -- easily the fastest-growing of its three main segments, well ahead of the 1% growth in its client computing group, which sells PC chips.
And management is describing the central processor in much the same terms.
"In recent months, we have seen clear signs that the CPU is reasserting itself as the indispensable foundation of the AI era," said Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan in the company's first-quarterearnings call
A risky foundry business
The second part of the upgrade is about manufacturing.
Intel is trying to become a more formidable contract chipmaker, producing chips for others the way Taiwan Semiconductor does -- a business it calls its foundry. This, however, is the higher-risk, higher-reward part of the story. Bank of America pointed to a pipeline of potential outside customers, including reported work on Apple's chips and MediaTek's processors. If even a few of those deals scale, the foundry could grow from a rounding error into a real second engine.
But Intel isn't there yet. Intel's external foundry revenue -- the part that comes from outside customers rather than its own products -- was just $174 million in the first quarter. And the foundry segment as a whole is still losing billions of dollars a year as Intel spends heavily to build out advanced manufacturing. And closing the gap with Taiwan Semiconductor is something Intel has tried and stumbled at before.
Then there's the price. Intel trades at well over 100 times its expected earnings for the next year. A valuation like this leaves little room for error, assuming both the agentic-processor shift and the foundry turnaround unfold with very few blips along the way.
So, what do I make of all this?
The rotation Bank of America is describing looks real and underappreciated -- the idea that AI's next phase pulls spending back toward the processors and manufacturing capacity Intel is built around. But a compelling thesis and an attractive entry price are different things. After more than tripling this year, the stock has arguably already priced in much of that optimism, and the bar it now has to clear is far higher than it was a few months ago. I'd want to see Intel's foundry business make more meaningful progress on its pipeline before treating the stock as a buy here. Sure, the shift may be coming. But the stock apparently isn't waiting around for proof.

With that in mind, here are five companies in particular that could be big beneficiaries of SpaceX's IPO windfall for years to come.
5 Companies that could make billions now that SpaceX is public
To be clear, there are more than just five. SpaceX buys components from dozens of companies, and many others are likely to get secondary tailwinds from the IPO. But here are five in particular that investors might want to take a closer look at.
1. Alphabet
Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG)(NASDAQ: GOOGL) could be a big winner from the SpaceX IPO, but not because SpaceX is a major customer. Alphabet made a $900 million investment in SpaceX in 2015, when SpaceX had a $12 billion valuation. At the IPO valuation, Alphabet's stake is worth about $150 billion. That's already an incredible return, but if SpaceX's stock were to rise post-IPO, it could become a serious needle-mover for the Google parent company.
2. Nvidia
You've probably heard about SpaceX's deals to provide compute infrastructure to Anthropic and Google, which will require SpaceX to continue purchasing hundreds of thousands of GPUs and other AI computing components. And I wouldn't be surprised to see further compute deals announced, creating an excellent recurring revenue stream for SpaceX. Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) is likely the most direct beneficiary of SpaceX's deeper pockets post-IPO.
3. Moog
Now we're starting to dig a little deeper. Moog (NYSE: MOGA) is the leader in precision motion control systems for the aviation, space, and defense industries. The company provides essential components for many satellites, and once Starship improves SpaceX's launch economics, the volume of new satellite deployments could increase rapidly.
4. Kratos Defense & Security
Kratos Defense & Security (NASDAQ: KTOS) is best known for its unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), but it also offers the only commercially available satellite ground system, OpenSpace. Even if Kratos doesn't get a direct SpaceX contract, it is a clear beneficiary as the commercial satellite economy accelerates.
5. Intel
To say that Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) has been a big winner recently would be an understatement. The company has benefited from an investment from the U.S. government and partnerships with Nvidia, Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL), and other tech giants. Investors have been handsomely rewarded, with the stock up about 500% over the past year alone. However, it's also worth noting that Intel has a close relationship with both SpaceX and Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) as a key Terafab partner. Specifically, Terafab will use Intel's next-generation fabrication technology, and the capital SpaceX raised in its IPO could be a major source of funding to get the Terafab project going.
The bottom line
As mentioned, there could be plenty of winners from the SpaceX IPO. But these are five companies that should be major beneficiaries of SpaceX's massive infusion of capital for years to come, and they could be worth a look for patient investors.

Some investors have worried that, after such a performance, Nvidia may lose momentum. It's true that there are plenty of rivals in the AI chip space, from chip designers like Advanced Micro Devices to some of Nvidia's customers, like Amazon, that have created their own chips.
But my prediction is Nvidia will stay ahead of the crowd -- and the second half of this year actually will represent a game-changing moment for the AI giant. Let's take a closer look.
Nvidia's GPUs over time
So, first, a bit of background on this market leader and where it stands in today's AI environment. Nvidia's GPUs have been around for decades, and in their early days, they mainly served the gaming market. The company has since expanded their use, and this was made possible by Nvidia's creation of CUDA, a parallel computing platform.
And about a decade ago, recognizing the AI opportunity, Nvidia tailored its GPUs for this industry. This, along with the creation of other products to support the GPU in its AI tasks, helped Nvidia build an AI empire. In the latest quarter, the company reported an 85% increase in revenue to more than $81 billion. And gross margin has remained pretty consistently above 70%, showing high profitability on sales.
As mentioned, Nvidia isn't alone in the space. Rivals sell GPUs or other similar AI chips, and they, too, have delivered significant growth. Yet Nvidia has maintained its lead, due to its brand strength and the quality of its products, as well as its focus on innovation.
But some investors have wondered how long this will last, particularly as rivals too have been supercharging their innovation engines -- and Nvidia's GPUs carry the highest price tag. Meanwhile, the needs of AI are changing. For example, the early stage of the AI story was all about training models, and for this, the GPU was critical.
The era of AI agents
Today, we're moving into the era of AI agents, involving the actual application of AI to problems. In agentic AI, the AI agent acts as a human would -- considering a problem and taking steps, in many cases multiple steps, to solve it. And to power this process, another type of chip is most needed: the central processing unit (CPU). These are the general chips found in all computers.
Nvidia hasn't been a big player in the CPU market. Intel and AMD have been longtime leaders in this market, but if Nvidia meets its goals, this might change.
And this leads me to my prediction. The second half of the year could be a key moment for Nvidia because it plans to take two game-changing steps: It aims to release its Vera Rubin platform for data centers, and this includes the company's first-ever stand-alone CPU. And, for the PC market, it aims to release a new superchip, the Nvidia RTX Spark. This chip, including an Nvidia GPU and an Nvidia CPU, will launch in Windows laptops this fall from Microsoft, Dell, and others.
So, as of the second half, Nvidia will advance in the CPU market in a big way -- aiming for share in data center CPUs and in the PC market. Nvidia says the stand-alone CPU market is worth about $200 billion, and the company says it's on track for leadership.
The big news here is that Nvidia is maintaining its GPU dominance and eventually may hold a similar position in the broader CPU market. This could greatly increase the company's revenue growth potential over time -- and that's why I predict that the launches of these two CPU products will represent a game-changing moment in the Nvidia story.

While AI model training largely relies on graphics processing units (GPUs) designed by the likes of Nvidia, CPUs perform well during certain segments of AI agent workflows, such as control logic, plan execution, coordination, and scheduling.
Intel and AMD dominate the server CPU market, making them well-positioned to profit from this global megatrend. Yet Arm also stands to benefit. The chip architecture developer recently unveiled its new AGI CPU, which is specifically designed to power next-gen AI infrastructure.
More ways for investors to profit
Bank of America's analysts are also optimistic about Intel's foundry business. In addition to designing and building its own chips, Intel has opened its chip manufacturing services to other tech giants. Intel is reportedly in discussions with Apple to potentially make some of the chips in its popular devices.
Meanwhile, analysts at Citigroup believe AMD could wrestle away some market share from Nvidia in the GPU arena, driven in part by its chip supply deals with social media and AI powerhouse Meta Platforms.

Why Intel, AMD, Arm, and Other Artificial Intelligence (AI) Stocks Popped Today

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) on Friday rose +0.50%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average ($DOWI) (DIA) rose +0.70%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) rose +0.64%. June E-mini S&P futures (ESM26) rose +0.65%, and June E-mini Nasdaq futures (NQM26) rose +0.87%.
Stocks on Friday extended Thursday’s rally on hopes that the US and Iran will sign an interim peace agreement within the next several days, ending the military hostilities, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and ending the US blockade on Iran and its oil exports. Negotiations would then begin on the more intractable issues, such as sanctions against Iran, the release of $24 billion of frozen Iranian assets, and the resolution of Iranian nuclear issues. However, Iran said its leaders still need to make a final decision on the proposed interim peace deal.

Stocks started to rally on Thursday after President Trump canceled planned military strikes against Iran, citing "discussions" with the Iranian leadership. He added that the “time and place of the signing" of a negotiated end to the war would "be announced shortly."
WTI crude oil prices (CLN26) fell -3.23% on Friday on the hopes for a near-term US-Iran agreement and a reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
In positive news for stocks, the University of Michigan’s June US Consumer Sentiment Index rose +4.1 to 48.9, which was stronger than expectations for a rise to 46.0. Also, the University of Michigan’s June 1-year inflation expectations rate eased to +4.6% from +4.8% in May, and was weaker than expectations of +4.9%. The June 5-10 year inflation expectations rate eased to +3.4% from +3.9% in May, weaker than expectations of +3.8%.
The markets are discounting a 4% chance of a +25 bp rate hike at the next FOMC meeting on June 16-17.
Overseas stock markets closed higher. The Euro Stoxx 50 rose +2.16%. China's Shanghai Composite closed up +1.12%. Japan’s Nikkei-225 Stock Average closed up +2.81%.

September 10-year T-notes (ZNU6) fell -5 ticks, and the 10-year T-note yield rose +2.2 bp to 4.483%. T-notes saw weakness as the 10-year inflation expectations rate rose +1.8 bp to 2.323%, despite the drop in oil prices. The T-note market remains worried about inflation pressures, which are likely to remain sticky even after the Strait of Hormuz reopens. The T-note market had some carry-over weakness from Thursday, when demand was lackluster for the Treasury’s 30-year bond auction.
European government bond yields traded lower. The 10-year German bund yield fell -3.6 bp to 2.995%. The 10-year UK gilt yield fell -6.9 bp to 4.836%.
On Thursday, the ECB, as expected, raised the deposit facility rate by +25 bp to 2.25% from 2.00% and said, "The outlook remains uncertain, with upside risks for inflation and downside risks for economic growth." Swaps are discounting a 37% chance of a +25 bp ECB rate hike at its next policy meeting on July 23.
US Stock Movers
Space Exploration Technologies Corp (SPCX), doing business as SpaceX, started trading Friday morning and closed the day at $161 per share, up +19% from Thursday’s IPO of $135. The IPO was more than four times oversubscribed, indicating strong demand for the stock. SpaceX's favorable showing on Friday was positive for investor sentiment and could help the upcoming IPOs of AI companies Anthropic and OpenAI.
Space-linked stocks traded lower despite the favorable SpaceX debut, with EchoStar (SATS) and Rocket Lab (RKLB) both closing down about -10%.
Chip stocks recovered from early losses and closed mostly higher. The iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) rose +1.59% on Friday, adding to Thursday’s sharp rally of +8.39%. The chip rally was sparked by signs that AI spending is continuing after Oracle on Thursday reported quarterly capital expenditures that were higher than expected, driven by increased data center spending. Chip leaders on Friday included a rally of +6.51% in Intel (INTC) and +5.55% in KLA-Tencor Corp (KLAC). AMD (AMD)and Qualcomm (QCOM) both closed up more than +4%.
Adobe (ADBE) fell more than -6% after CFO Dan Durn said he would leave the company on June 15, following news earlier this year that Adobe’s CEO would resign. The Adobe news put continued downward pressure on software stocks, which were undercut on Thursday by negative earnings news from Oracle (ORCL). Autodesk (ADSK) fell more than -3%, and Palantir Technologies (PLTR) fell more than -2%.
Airline stocks saw continued support after oil prices on Friday extended Thursday’s losses. Southwest Airlines (LUV), United Airlines (UAL), and American Airlines (AAL) all rallied by more than +2%.

Astera Labs (ALAB), CoreWeave (CRWV), Nebius Group (NBIS), Rocket Lab (RKLB), and Teradyn (TER) are seeing support today after Nasdaq announced on Thursday that those stocks will join the Nasdaq 100 Index, effective at the market open on June 22. Stocks leaving the Nasdaq 100 include Charter Communications (CHTR), Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTSH), Insmed (INSM), Verisk Analytics (VRSK), and Zscaler (ZS).
Travelers (TRV) is down more than -1% after Barclays cut its rating on the stock to underweight from equal-weight due to a downbeat outlook for profits in the property and casualty sector.

Stocks See Downward Pressure Despite Hopes for a Near-term US-Iran Agreement

Advanced Micro Devices AMD is witnessing mixed conditions in its gaming business. In the first quarter of 2026, gaming revenues grew 11% year over year to $720 million. The increase was mainly driven by strong sales of the company's new Radeon 9000 series graphics cards, which helped offset weaker performance in other gaming-related areas.
However, revenues dropped 15% sequentially, reflecting the expected softness in the market.
AMD’s semi-custom business, which makes chips for gaming consoles, saw revenues decline from the year-ago period, as expected, given the late stage of the current console cycle. Although customer demand for next-generation console platforms remains encouraging, sales of existing gaming consoles continue to be affected as these platforms mature.
AMD expects second-quarter 2026 total revenues to increase 9% sequentially, driven by double-digit growth in both Data Center and the Embedded segments and modest growth in the Client and Gaming segments. On a year-over-year basis, total revenues are expected to jump 46%. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for second-quarter 2026 revenues is pegged at $11.27 billion, suggesting 46.6% growth from the figure reported in the year-ago quarter. The consensus mark for 2026 revenues is pegged at $48.69 billion, indicating 40.5% growth from 2025.
AMD expects the gaming market to remain under pressure in the second half of 2026. The company said that rising memory and other component costs are making gaming products more expensive, similar to trends in the PC market. As a result, consumers may cut back on spending, which could hurt demand for gaming hardware and related products.
The company is adopting a cautious approach toward its gaming business in the second half of 2026. Notably, AMD is planning conservatively, given the current market environment. AMD expects gaming revenues in the second half of the year to be more than 20% lower than in the first half of 2026. Gaming revenues had already declined 15% sequentially in the first quarter, highlighting the continued slowdown in gaming demand.
Tough Competition Hurts AMD’s Prospects
AMD’s prospects suffer from stiff competition from the likes of NVIDIA NVDA and Intel INTC. Both NVIDIA and Intel are expanding their footprints in the gaming space.
NVIDIA’s Edge Computing market platform, which encompasses devices such as PCs, gaming consoles and workstations, generated $6.4 billion in revenues for the fiscal first quarter of 2027. This represents a 10% quarter-over-quarter increase and a 29% rise year over year. This robust growth highlights the continued demand for NVIDIA’s products in the gaming and edge device markets.
Intel’s expanding portfolio has been noteworthy. In May 2026, Intel announced the launch of Intel Arc G-Series processors, a new family of handheld gaming processors built on the Intel Core Ultra Series 3 (Panther Lake) architecture. The processors are designed to deliver higher gaming performance, improved power efficiency and longer battery life for next-generation handheld gaming devices. Intel highlighted upcoming systems from partners, including Acer, MSI and OneXPlayer.

AMD shares have jumped 128.1% year to date, outperforming the broader Zacks Computer and Technology sector’s rise of 13.2%.
