This is a big week in the second quarter earnings season as over 700 companies are expected to report earnings, including many S&P 500 companies. That includes four of the Magnificent 7 stocks: Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, and Meta Platforms.
But what if the Mag 7 companies report earnings and no one cares? Attention is now routinely turning to other companies outside of the trillion-dollar market cap companies. That’s true this week as well.
Big Week for Earnings in Every Industry
Every industry will be reporting this week including key restaurants like Chipotle, Wingstop and Starbucks, financials such as Visa and Mastercard, important AI infrastructure companies like Vertiv and MasTec, lots of auto retailers like Carvana and Lithia Motors, gold miners like Eldorado and Kinross, and shoe retailers including Crocs, Boot Barn and Steve Madden.
It’s difficult to narrow it down to just five companies but these are the must-watch earnings reports this week.
5 Top Earnings Charts to Watch This Week
1. Visa Inc. (V)
Visa is the ultimate earnings all-star. It has never missed on earnings since its 2008 IPO. That’s an incredible record that will stand for many years.
Shares of Visa are up 8% in the last month but only 2.9% over the last year. Earnings are expected to rise 14.4% this year and another 13.4% next year. Visa trades with a forward P/E of 27.
Visa is trading near its all-time high, even as it seems to be treading water. Is it ready to break out again?
2. Lam Research Corp. (LRCX)
Lam Research is an earnings all-star. It has only missed once on earnings in the last five years and it was in 2022. That is an incredible track record.
Earnings are expected to jump 37.2% this year and another 39.3% in 2027. But shares of Lam Research have sold off. It’s now down 30.5% in the last month but was down “only” 17.2% when the video was recorded on July 27, 2026. Lam Research is still up 167% over the last year.
Lam Research now trades with a forward P/E of 36.7. It did trade in the 40s just a month ago.

3. Starbucks Corp. (SBUX)
Starbucks is in the middle of a corporate turnaround. It beat on earnings last quarter after having missed four quarters in a row prior to that. CEO Brian Niccol has been at the helm since 2024. Expectations are growing regarding the turnaround.
Earnings are expected to rise 13.2% in 2026 after falling 35.6% in 2025. Shares of Starbucks are up 10.2% in the last year. It’s not cheap, however. Starbucks trades with a forward P/E of 42.8.

4. Robinhood Markets, Inc. (HOOD)
Robinhood is coming off of an earnings miss last quarter, after beating on earnings 5 quarters in a row prior to that miss.
Earnings are expected to decline 9.3% this year but rebound 39.8% in 2027. Shares of Robinhood have struggled in the last year, falling 6.9% in that time. It’s not cheap, though. Robinhood trades with a forward P/E of 51.

5. MasTec, Inc. (MTZ)
MasTec has only missed once on earnings in five years and that was in 2023. That’s impressive. MasTec is an AI Revolution stock as it’s building the data centers.
Earnings are expected to jump 46.3% this year and another 52% in 2027. Shares of MasTec soared over the last year but have plunged 20% in the prior month as investors have sold the AI Revolution stocks.
MasTec is now trading with a forward P/E of 35.

Cryptocurrencies have had a rough time since October 2025, with most major coins and tokens trading deeply in the red. Not even the industry leaders have escaped the carnage, with Ethereum's native cryptocurrency, Ether (CRYPTO: ETH), down more than 60% from its all-time high.
But Tom Lee, Wall Street analyst and chairman of Bitmine Immersion Technologies (NYSE: BMNR), thinks this could be an incredible opportunity to buy Ether. It currently trades at about $1,940 per coin, but he predicts it is about to embark on a staggering rally to $250,000, representing a potential gain of almost 13,000%.

Lee says the transition to "Ethereum 2.0" could create a tremendous amount of value, and here's what he means.
How does Ethereum work?
Ethereum is a platform where people develop decentralized software applications, which are popular in industries such as finance and gaming. These apps are governed by slivers of computer code called smart contracts that live on the Ethereum blockchain, and they typically can't be changed. This approach ensures no person or company can manipulate an app's rules or functions, so it always remains fully decentralized.
The Ethereum network itself is also decentralized, because it's hosted on thousands of nodes, or computers, all over the world, which store an updated copy of its blockchain. Therefore, the network won't be compromised even if some nodes suffer an outage, which is how Ethereum has maintained 100% uptime during the past decade.
Ether is the lubricant that keeps the network running. Whenever someone uses an Ethereum-based app, that person activates a smart contract and triggers a fee payable in Ether, which covers the computer processing costs. That means demand for Ether grows organically as the network becomes more popular, which should result in a higher value per coin, at least in theory.
What is Ethereum 2.0?
Tom Lee thinks there is a fundamental shift happening right now, which will see Ethereum leave the early non-fungible token (NFT) and crypto software application era behind, and move into the mainstream economy. He thinks major financial institutions will increasingly build payment rails on the network, and he also believes it could become the primary settlement layer for transactions conducted by artificial intelligence (AI)-powered agents.
BlackRock and JPMorgan Chase have launched investment funds using the Ethereum network this year, which are hosted on the blockchain instead of traditional stock exchanges. These funds have already attracted billions of dollars combined, which they invest in secure assets such as U.S. Treasury securities.
Robinhood Markets also recently launched an Ethereum-based project, which tokenizes real-world stocks to allow clients to bypass regular exchanges and buy and sell shares through the blockchain instead. Blockchains never close, so clients can transact 24 hours per day, even on weekends.
On the AI side, digital agents will eventually need their own identities and potentially even their own money. An established, trusted, and decentralized network like Ethereum could be perfectly suited to processing their transactions, and there's no telling how big this opportunity could be over the long term.
Is Lee's target realistic?
There are 120.7 million Ether coins in circulation right now, so at $1,940 each, the ecosystem has a market capitalization of about $234 billion. Some simple math suggests that a price of $250,000 per token would result in a market cap of $30.1 trillion, which is roughly equal to the output of the entire U.S. economy last year. It would also make Ether six times more valuable than Nvidia, the world's largest company, which is currently valued at about $5 trillion.
If Ethereum does become an important utility in the financial and AI industries, then it's possible Lee's $250,000 target will come to fruition one day. However, despite the adoption by major financial institutions so far, the network still only has roughly 2.2 million daily active wallet addresses across its main blockchain and all major Layer-2 blockchains, which is actually down from 3.7 million a year ago -- and trending lower, according to Growthepie.
In other words, it seems Ethereum is still operating on the fringes of industries such as finance, and regular consumers aren't flocking to tokenized funds or assets. It's unclear what could eventually drive mainstream adoption, but that is a critical hurdle standing in the way of Lee's ambitious target.
It's also important to remember that Lee is the chairman of Bitmine Immersion Technologies, which currently owns 5.8 million Ether coins, pr nearly 5% of the entire circulating supply. The company's position is worth a whopping $11 billion, but that would grow to a staggering $1.4 trillion if Ether hits $250,000 per coin. Therefore, his highly bullish forecast is a little self-serving, and I'd treat it with a healthy dose of skepticism.

Credit card giant American Express (NYSE: AXP) released its second-quarter earnings before the market opened on July 24. Although the company's earnings per share of $4.53 cleared Wall Street's expectations, revenue net of interest expense narrowly missed the mark at $19.64 billion. Shares dropped over 4% following the announcement.
But try not to get fixated on the headline numbers. Sure, they matter, but they don't tell the whole story. The market seems to be missing what's happening with American Express' fee revenue, the annual fees people pay to use the company's premium credit and charge cards. The data in American Express' second-quarter earnings illustrate the brand's strength and why the stock continues to justify its valuation.

American Express flexing its pricing power
The credit card industry is ferociously competitive. American Express pioneered the premium credit space, but it faces steep competition from big banks and fintech companies like Robinhood Markets. This year was a crucial test of American Express' pricing power after the company raised the annual fee on its flagship Platinum Card from $695 to $895 at the beginning of 2026.
It seems that American Express is passing this test. Fee revenue was the company's fastest-growing revenue item at 15% year over year in Q2, and management anticipates that figure accelerating over the next two quarters, exiting 2026 at a high-teens rate. In other words, customers haven't blinked at the $200 increase. Management noted that its Platinum portfolio is now its fastest-growing consumer group in the United States.
Continuing to excel in the premium borrower segment
The brand's identity rests squarely with the affluent cardholder. That customer base continues to show strength despite broader U.S. consumer sentiment declining roughly 20% over the past year. During that time, American Express' net write-off rate has held firm at 2%, and the percent of card balances at least 30 days past due actually declined from 1.3% to 1.2%. American Express certainly isn't immune to recessions, but operating in the premium space makes the business more resilient.
Millennials and Gen Z account for approximately 65% of the new consumer accounts American Express added in the second quarter, and 75% of all new accounts were fee-paying products. American Express continues to secure long-term growth by winning over the next generation of premium cardholders, and analysts estimate the company will grow earnings by an average of 14% annually over the next three to five years.
The stock doesn't necessarily look like a bargain at 19 times its 2026 earnings estimates, given that earnings for businesses with credit exposure are notoriously volatile. However, the high-margin revenue American Express continues to generate and grow is the secret sauce that has helped the stock deliver stellar investment returns over the years. I didn't see anything in Q2 earnings that would change that.

American Express Just Reported Its Second Quarter. Here's What the Card-Fee Line Says About the Premium Consumer.

Elon Musk's Space Exploration Technologies (NASDAQ: SPCX) completed its historic initial public offering (IPO) on Friday, June 12. The rocket and satellite company raised a record $75 billion at an unprecedented market value of $1.7 trillion.
SpaceX stock is down 42% from its post-IPO high, partly because some insiders will be allowed to sell shares two days after the company reports second-quarter financial results on August 4. But a rich valuation, debt issuance, and launch delays have also factored into the decline.

Nevertheless, Wall Street is overwhelmingly bullish. Among 37 analysts, SpaceX has a median target of $225 per share, implying 96% upside from its current share price of $115. My prediction is a little more conservative: I think SpaceX will trade at $167 per share by June 2027.
Here's why.
SpaceX is chasing a $26.5 trillion opportunity in AI products and services
SpaceX is a vertically integrated business that designs hardware and software across three operating segments: space, connectivity, and artificial intelligence. The company has a key competitive advantage in reusable rockets, which dramatically reduce launch costs. That economic moat has helped SpaceX build Starlink, the largest satellite internet service in the world.
SpaceX also runs two Colossus data centers, which collectively form the largest AI training cluster on the planet. Using its low-cost launch capabilities, massive satellite network, and AI expertise, the company plans to provide AI cloud services from orbital (space-based) data centers. Solar power and cold temperatures could solve the energy and cooling problems that limit terrestrial data centers.
"We believe we are the only company with a commercially viable path to building orbital AI compute at scale," SpaceX explains its SEC Form S-1. The company values its addressable market at $28.5 billion, and the vast majority of that sum ($26.5 trillion) is attributed to AI products and services.
Wall Street says SpaceX's revenue will grow at 102% annually through 2028
In the first quarter, SpaceX reported a net loss of $4.2 billion, but the company has plenty of cash on its balance sheet after raising $75 billion from its initial public offering (IPO) and AI revenue is likely to grow quickly in the quarters ahead. Anthropic and Alphabet have agreed to rent cloud capacity from SpaceX for monthly fees of $1.25 billion and $920 million, respectively.
SpaceX brought in revenue of $19.3 billion in the past year, and the company currently has a market value of $1.5 trillion as of July 25. Those figures give SpaceX a price-to-sales ratio of 78. That would be a very rich valuation in almost any circumstance, but it's tolerable here because Wall Street estimates sales will increase at 102% annually through 2028. In other words, SpaceX currently trades at about 11 times projected sales for 2028.
History says SpaceX's stock price will increase 45% by June 2027
SpaceX had a market capitalization of $1.7 trillion at its IPO price of $135 per share. That made it the largest IPO in history by a wide margin. There is no perfect comparison, but we can look at how other large IPOs have performed to make an educated guess about where SpaceX is headed.

Among the 10 largest U.S. IPOs in history, the average stock returned 24% during its first year on the public market. If SpaceX follows that trajectory, the stock will trade at $167 per share in June 2027. That implies 45% upside from the current share price of $115.
I think $167 per share is a sensible forecast. It implies a market value of $2.1 trillion, which means the stock would trade at 30 times projected sales for 2027. That is not cheap, but it is much cheaper than the current valuation.
More importantly, even if I am wrong about SpaceX reaching $167 per share by June 2027, I think patient investors who buy the stock today will outperform the S&P 500 over the next five years. I would start with a small position and add shares if the stock continues to move lower.

Prediction: This Will Be SpaceX's Stock Price by June 2027 (Hint: It's Time to Buy)

Robinhood deployed its blockchain via Arbitrum's tech stack.
That stack is itself dependent on Ethereum's network.
Ethereum holders aren't getting compensated for the value the chain is providing here.
On July 1, Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ: HOOD) launched the Robinhood Chain, an Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) Layer-2 (L2) blockchain built on Arbitrum's (CRYPTO: ARB) technology. Nearly three weeks in, the chain already has $257.4 million in total value locked (TVL) -- a larger sum than many networks that have been operating for years -- and it also cleared $4.5 billion of decentralized exchange (DEX) trading volume in the seven-day period ending on July 20.
At the same time, Ethereum's price has been rising as a result of a narrative that more activity on Ethereum is good for the coin. In actuality, Robinhood's dynamic entry into the crypto space is bearish for the second-largest cryptocurrency. Here's why.

The money doesn't flow to the base chain
First, a technical point. For the purposes of this discussion, Layer-2 networks process transactions off of Ethereum's main chain, reducing its congestion, much like how a side street shunts some local traffic away from the main boulevard. Then, once the transactions are processed, they're bundled together to be more efficient, and the package is sent back to the main chain.
In this case, the Robinhood Chain runs on Arbitrum's Orbit technology stack, and its gas fees are denominated in Ether.
The Orbit-based chain routes 10% of its net protocol revenue back to Arbitrum's network in a split of 8% to its native token holders and 2% to its ecosystem developers, with Robinhood keeping 90%.
As you may have noticed from the arithmetic, Ethereum's slice of the fee pie is a rounding error. According to an estimate by Ark Invest analyst Lorenzo Valente, of the $816,000 in cumulative chain fees reported on Robinhood Chain through July 13, only 0.15% ended up flowing to Ethereum, or about $1,538. Arbitrum, on the other hand, got around $80,000 per Valente's analysis.
So the new chain's launch directly enriches Arbitrum holders while leaving a scant few crumbs for Ethereum.
The road map is set to make this problem even worse
The recent Fusaka upgrade to Ethereum added a fee floor to make activity on Layer-2 chains pay Ether holders more. The trouble is that at Robinhood Chain's economics, the fee floor is extremely low.
Closing this gap almost certainly requires "a wholesale change in developer mindset and in ETH's token economics," per Bitwise's Max Shannon. That change, which would really be more like a handful of moderate and major overhauls to tokenomics, supply control, and staking yields, would reshape the drivers of the token's value to make holding it far more appealing than it is now.
But no such change is on the table.
If Ethereum's leaders decide to fix that, and alter the chain so that it captures a meaningful share of Layer-2 activity revenue and converts that activity into burning of Ether so as to reduce its outstanding supply like a stock buyback, Robinhood's success with its chain would actually become very bullish for the coin overnight.
Until then, the arithmetic here just rewards Arbitrum holders and Robinhood shareholders while starving Ethereum of the fee-driven scarcity that would be the capstone in the investment thesis for buying it.

Robinhood's New Blockchain Has Been a Smash Success. Here's Why That's Bearish for Ethereum.

In early trading on Friday, shares of Digital Realty Trust topped the list of the day's best performing components of the S&P 500 index, trading up 10.6%. Year to date, Digital Realty Trust registers a 28.3% gain.
And the worst performing S&P 500 component thus far on the day is C.H. Robinson Worldwide, trading down 7.7%. C.H. Robinson Worldwide, is showing a gain of 18.1% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Robinhood Markets, trading down 6.0%, and Honeywell International, trading up 7.5% on the day.

S&P 500 Movers: CHRW, DLR

Key Points
Hyperliquid just pushed an upgrade to its outcome markets platform.
That upgrade lets anyone with enough funds create a betting market on the network.
Other prediction market providers do not have any mechanism for users to create new markets on their own.
A decentralized crypto exchange breaking its way into prediction markets was not on many bingo cards this year, but on July 19, Hyperliquid (CRYPTO: HYPE) said its HIP-4 outcome markets will soon let anyone who stakes 500,000 HYPE coins (roughly $31 million at recent prices) deploy their own event contracts, with little to no gatekeeping required.
That announcement will have a smattering of knock-on effects for at least three different competitors: Kalshi, Polymarket, and Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ: HOOD). Here's why those players are now under threat from Hyperliquid.

This upgrade could send the platform's prediction markets into overdrive
HIP-4, the Hyperliquid update that added prediction market support, has been live since early May 2026. But only the network's validators could approve which markets were open for trading.
This new upgrade means that anyone can propose an outcome market, so long as it uses one of the provided templates, and as long as the deployer is willing to stake 500,000 HYPE for at least 183 days. This could be an economically appealing proposition, as deployers get to keep up to 50% of the transaction fees their markets generate. If the market botches a settlement or misses the seven-day resolution window, validators can then impose consequences by vote if they choose to do so.
The design of these permissionless outcome markets directly attacks the incumbents at their weakest point, which is their coverage of the vast number of events that could possibly be bet on via a prediction market. As those markets are self-fundable and transparently auditable, thanks to all of the transactions being visible on Hyperliquid's chain, there's a built-in incentive to create markets that aren't represented elsewhere due to restrictions.
In contrast, Polymarket's own documentation states that its "markets are created by the markets team," with its users able to suggest ideas for new listings, but not able to actually implement them. Kalshi has to shepherd every new event contract through a Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) review. And Robinhood, the fintech broker, doesn't list its own prediction contracts at all; it routes the flow into KalshiEx and ForecastEx, with a recently acquired exchange meant to close that gap in 2026.
The competitive landscape is getting even more crowded than before
Hyperliquid's move coincides with the fact that prediction markets are having a moment. Q2 2026 notional volume across all prediction markets hit $113.8 billion, with June reaching an all-time high of $50.7 billion in volume. Any flow that Hyperliquid can pull is a flow that the incumbents were already planning to have to fight for. Competition is thus guaranteed; but it isn't reasonable to expect that Hyperliquid will simply be able to mop up the market as some of its evangelists have claimed.
The threat that Hyperliquid poses to Robinhood is broader than the threat it poses to the prediction market specialists.
Hyperliquid is primarily a decentralized exchange for financial derivatives. Is outcome markets are layered onto the platform via its earlier HIP-3 upgrade, with much of its footprint echoing sports betting platforms and other high-risk financial entertainment segments. It doesn't have Robinhood's huge user base or its tenure, but it's still competing in many of the same niches, and often with much lower fees for users.
In terms of fees, Hyperliquid has a feature that operates similarly to stock buybacks, which could potentially help it lure away investors' capital from Robinhood as well. Close to 99% of Hyperliquid's protocol fees are automatically routed into HYPE coin buybacks. Therefore, more on-chain volume for prediction market trades or anything else means generating more fees, which means more automated purchases of HYPE that limit its supply and causing upside pressure. Furthermore, as every prediction market deployer on its platform is required to stake 500,000 HYPE for six months, there's more than one mechanism for supply to be removed from public circulation.
The catch is that the permissionlessness of Hyperliquid's outcome markets is not as broad as the branding implies.
Market templates are still controlled by validators, which caps how fast the network can recreate Polymarket's political outcome markets catalog or Kalshi's sports book, and the big outlay of 500,000 HYPE coins for staking will filter out most of the potential market deployers. Plus, there's another catch: Hyperliquid isn't available for users in the U.S., so it can't directly compete for market share there.
If Hyperliquid's validators approve templates for sports, politics, and macroeconomic data over the next two quarters, and three or four serious deployers stake in, HIP-4 will become a real problem for the incumbents. Until then, it's just another tailwind for Hyperliquid's price.

(Symbol: GCO), where a total of 1,015 contracts have traded so far, representing approximately 101,500 underlying shares. That amounts to about 58.6% of GCO's average daily trading volume over the past month of 173,340 shares. Particularly high volume was seen for the $17.50 strike put option expiring March 19, 2027, with 707 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 70,700 underlying shares of GCO. Robinhood Markets Inc (Symbol: HOOD) options are showing a volume of 136,230 contracts thus far today. Particularly high volume was seen for the $105 strike call option expiring July 24, 2026, with 6,635 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 663,500 underlying shares of HOOD.
