Huge News for GM Stock, Tesla Stock, and Ford Stock Investors

The numbers behind the artificial intelligence (AI) build-out keep getting bigger. On Tuesday, chip designer Broadcom announced a financing platform with investment giants Apollo Global Management and Blackstone designed to enable more than 20 gigawatts of AI compute capacity through 2028, launching with an initial $35 billion tranche.
Even automakers want in. General Motors said this week it is developing a sodium-ion battery (a chemistry built on abundant sodium rather than scarcer lithium) aimed at energy storage for data centers and the grid.

All of this demand is landing on an electric grid that can take years to expand. Securing a grid connection for a large data center campus can be a multiyear wait, and the equipment needed to build new power plants is in short supply. That mismatch is where Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE), GE Vernova (NYSE: GEV), and Vistra (NYSE: VST) come in.
Here's a closer look at how each company is positioned to power the build-out.
1. Bloom Energy
Bloom makes solid oxide fuel cells -- systems that generate electricity on-site from natural gas without combustion -- letting data centers skip the wait for a grid hookup. Bloom's first-quarter revenue soared 130% year over year to $751.1 million, driven by a 208% jump in product revenue. The company also posted net income of $70.7 million, reversing a year-ago loss. And management raised its full-year outlook, now expecting 2026 revenue of $3.4 billion to $3.8 billion -- about 80% growth at the midpoint, up from prior guidance of about 60%.
In April, Oracle said Bloom fuel cells will fully power Project Jupiter, its AI data center campus in New Mexico, with up to 2.45 gigawatts of capacity, replacing the gas turbines and diesel generators originally planned for the site. Notably, management said more than half of Bloom's data center backlog comes from customers other than Oracle.
"Bloom is rapidly becoming the standard and go-to choice for on-site power," said Bloom founder and CEO KR Sridhar during the company's first-quarter earnings call.
2. GE Vernova
While Bloom helps data centers bypass the grid, GE Vernova supplies the grid itself -- along with the gas turbines utilities are waiting in line to order. The power equipment maker's first-quarter orders surged 71% on an organic basis to $18.3 billion, pushing its total backlog to $163 billion. Its gas turbine backlog and slot reservation agreements grew from 83 gigawatts to 100 gigawatts in a single quarter, and management now expects to reach at least 110 gigawatts by the end of 2026.
GE Vernova's electrification segment, which makes grid equipment like transformers and switchgear, booked $2.4 billion of equipment orders to support data centers during the first quarter -- more than in all of 2025. Further, the company's free cash flow more than quadrupled year over year to $4.8 billion, and management raised its 2026 guidance.
3. Vistra
Vistra is one of the largest competitive power producers in the U.S., with a generation fleet spanning natural gas and nuclear. And AI's biggest spenders are locking up that fleet years in advance. Last year, the company signed a 20-year power purchase agreement with Amazon's cloud unit for up to 1,200 megawatts of nuclear power from its Comanche Peak plant in Texas. It also signed 20-year agreements to supply Meta Platforms with 2,609 megawatts of nuclear energy and capacity from its plants in the eastern U.S.
The company is adding natural gas capacity, too, with its pending acquisition of about 5,500 megawatts of generation from Cogentrix, targeted to close in the second half of this year. Last month, Vistra reported first-quarter ongoing operations adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) of about $1.5 billion and reaffirmed its full-year forecast of $6.8 billion to $7.6 billion.
What could trip up the power trade
Of course, these stocks face risks. Project timing, for instance, is one. In fact, Bloom Energy shares fell this week after a partner reportedly paused work on a data center site in Wyoming. Additionally, these companies operate in highly regulated markets.
The bigger risk may be the demand side itself. All three stocks have rallied on the assumption that AI capital expenditures keep climbing, and AI infrastructure stocks have pulled back recently on concerns about the pace of that spending. If the build-out decelerates meaningfully, backlogs could stop growing and these valuations could compress quickly.
Still, the demand signals keep arriving week after week, and from new directions -- financiers one day, automakers the next. For investors who believe the electricity bottleneck is real and durable, these three companies arguably offer a more grounded way to invest in the AI boom than chasing the chipmakers themselves.

The AI Boom's Next Bottleneck Is Electricity. These 3 Stocks Are Positioned to Power the Build-Out.

Ford Motor Company’s F primary aluminum supplier in New York has resumed operations at its hot mill following two fires last year that shut down the facility and contributed to billions of dollars in lost production for Ford’s highly profitable F-Series pickup lineup.
The Novelis facility in Oswego, NY, is the largest U.S.-based supplier of automotive-grade aluminum sheet. A fire on Sept. 16, 2025, halted the rolling line of Novelis that produced aluminum sheets, while a second fire on Nov. 20, 2025, caused further damage to both the rolling equipment and parts of the plant. The aluminum sheets manufactured there are used to produce vehicle components such as hoods, fenders and other exterior body panels.
The disruption had a significant impact on Ford, which relies on aluminum body construction for its F-150 pickup, the best-selling vehicle in the United States for decades. The resulting aluminum shortage reduced the automaker’s truck inventory levels at dealerships ahead of the typically strong summer selling season.
Per Ford spokesperson Dave Tovar, the restart marks an important step forward, but it also highlights the challenges many automotive suppliers continue to face. Ford remains focused on working closely with suppliers to strengthen long-term supply chain resilience.
Per Ford CEO Jim Farley, the company currently has a solid supply of finished aluminum. F-Series inventory stands at roughly a 50-day supply nationwide, which is somewhat below Ford’s preferred level for trucks, but production is ramping up steadily, and the company expects a strong performance in the second half of the year.
Ford uses lightweight aluminum in its truck bodies to help improve fuel efficiency. The Novelis fires forced Ford to temporarily suspend production of the all-electric F-150 Lightning at its Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Dearborn due to insufficient aluminum supplies. The company also briefly halted production of the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs at its Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville. In addition, the shortage constrained the output of the gasoline-powered F-150, which is assembled at Ford’s Dearborn Truck Plant and Kansas City Assembly Plant in Claycomo, Missouri.
Overall, Ford estimates it lost approximately 100,000 units of truck production in 2025 because of the supply disruption. To recover from last year’s inventory shortfall, the automaker plans to build an additional 50,000 trucks this year, targeting total production of about 150,000 units.
Per Ford, the aluminum shortage and manufacturing disruptions caused by the fires are projected to have a financial impact of between $1.5 billion and $2 billion through 2026. How did the Novelis Outage Impact Its Other Customers?
Stellantis N.V. STLA was also affected by the Novelis fire, leading the automaker to temporarily suspend production of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer at its Warren, MI, assembly plant. The Wagoneer lineup relies extensively on aluminum components supplied by Novelis, including key body panels such as the hood and doors. As a result of the supply disruption, production at the Warren facility was halted on Oct. 13, 2025, and remained idle until operations resumed during the week of Nov. 3, 2025.
General Motors Company GM experienced only limited disruption from the Novelis fire, largely due to the supply chain risk management practices it developed after the 2011 tsunami and Fukushima nuclear disaster in Japan. That event exposed weaknesses in GM’s business continuity planning and prompted the company to adopt a more strategic approach to supply chain resilience. As a result, GM was better positioned to identify potential disruptions, assess supplier exposure and respond more effectively to supply chain challenges, helping it avoid the significant production impacts seen at some of its peers.
F’s Price Performance, Valuation and Estimates
Ford has outperformed the Zacks Automotive-Domestic industry in the last six months. Its shares have gained 3.9% against the industry’s decline of 4.9%.

From a valuation perspective, F appears undervalued. Going by its price/sales ratio, the company is trading at a forward sales multiple of 0.33, lower than the industry’s 3.48.

Can Novelis' Hot Mill Restart Ease Ford's Supply Challenges?

Tesla, Inc. TSLA has received regulatory clearance for its Full Self-Driving (Supervised) system in Denmark, representing another milestone in the technology’s European expansion. The approval, announced on June 9, 2026, makes Denmark the fourth European market to authorize FSD Supervised, following the Netherlands, Lithuania, and Estonia. The rollout to eligible Danish customers is expected to begin shortly.
Denmark’s decision is particularly interesting because the country had previously been part of a group of Nordic nations, including Sweden, Finland and Norway, that voiced concerns about FSD during European-level discussions. The objections focused on several issues, including the system’s tendency to exceed posted speed limits, its ability to operate safely on icy roads, and whether the term “Full Self-Driving” could give a misleading impression of the technology’s actual capabilities.
Nevertheless, Denmark ultimately approved the system through its national recognition process after conducting its own review of the technical documentation. The decision underscores the growing divergence between skepticism at the EU level and individual countries' willingness to move forward with approvals, illustrating the dual-track regulatory landscape emerging across Europe.
The Danish Road Traffic Authority granted provisional authorization after reviewing the original type approval issued by the Dutch vehicle regulator, RDW, on April 10, 2026. This recognition framework enables individual countries to accept the Dutch certification rather than wait for broader EU-wide regulatory alignment, helping speed up deployment across the region. The approach has already accelerated adoption, with Lithuania enabling FSD Supervised on May 20, 2026, and Estonia following on May 29, 2026.
Per the data from the Netherlands, vehicles using FSD Supervised experienced 3.5 times fewer collisions than those driven manually between April 10, 2026 and June 5, 2026. Tesla also reported no highway crashes during more than 16.6 million kilometers of FSD Supervised driving over the same period, which suggests that when used as intended, the technology could contribute to improved road safety.
Tesla’s European expansion adds to a global FSD Supervised presence that now spans 12 countries. The company continues to refine the software through over-the-air updates informed by real-world driving data collected from millions of miles.
In Denmark, access is expected to be offered first to owners of compatible vehicles, particularly those equipped with Tesla’s newer Hardware 4 (HW4) platform, although specific eligibility requirements and rollout schedules have yet to be finalized.
While Tesla continues to expand FSD Supervised across Europe, other automakers are also advancing their driver-assistance and autonomous-driving strategies, highlighting the broader industry push toward software-defined mobility. TSLA carries a Zacks Rank #4 (Sell) at present.

General Motors Company GM is steadily expanding the road network supported by Super Cruise, extending the hands-free driving system beyond highways while maintaining a strong focus on safety, reliability and customer trust. General Motors’ Super Cruise customers have logged more than 1 billion miles using the hands-free driving system. General Motors expects its Super Cruise subscriber base to surpass 850,000 by year-end.
Rivian Automotive, Inc. RIVN plans to launch point-to-point autonomous driving later this year, followed by hands-off, eyes-off Level 3 capability in 2027 and Level 4 robotaxi deployment in 2028. Rivian’s paid Autonomy+ adoption rates are already exceeding internal expectations. This matters because software and autonomy services typically carry much higher margins than vehicle manufacturing. If autonomy monetization scales successfully, recurring subscription revenues could improve Rivian’s profitability, stabilize cash flow and support higher valuation multiples similar to those of technology companies rather than traditional automakers.
Tesla’s Price Performance, Valuation and Estimates
Tesla has underperformed the Zacks Automotive – Domestic industry year to date. Tesla has lost 15.1% compared with the industry decline of 9%.

What Does Denmark's FSD Approval Mean for Tesla in Europe?

The S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) and Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX: ^IXIC) have declined modestly this week as Wall Street prepares for the SpaceX (NASDAQ: SPCX) IPO on Friday, June 12. The event will be historic for multiple reasons: The company will raise a record $75 billion at an unprecedented valuation of $1.77 trillion, making it the largest IPO of all time.
Investment banks involved in the deal report strong demand for SpaceX stock, priced at $135 per share and trading under the ticker SPCX. In fact, the IPO is four times oversubscribed, meaning demand exceeds the number of shares available by a factor of four, according to Reuters.

SpaceX is uniquely positioned to build and deploy orbital AI data centers
SpaceX (short for Space Exploration Technologies) breaks its business into three operating segments: space, connectivity, and artificial intelligence (AI).
1. Space
SpaceX has revolutionized space travel. In 2015, the Falcon 9 -- the world's first orbital-class rapidly reusable rocket -- successfully landed on Earth after being launched into space. No other company replicated that feat until Blue Origin in 2025. SpaceX aims to further cement its lead with the Starship system.
Starship will be the first fully and rapidly reusable spacecraft. It comprises a reusable first stage (Super Heavy booster) and second stage (the spacecraft), both engineered to return to the launch tower after flight, where they are caught in mid-air by mechanical arms. The company says Starship will reduce launch costs by 99% versus the historical average.
2. Connectivity
SpaceX could revolutionize the internet and mobile industries with Starlink, a constellation of about 10,000 broadband satellites that currently serves about 12 million subscribers. Starlink is already the largest satellite internet service, but it could eventually dominate the broader communications industry.
CEO Elon Musk says the Starlink constellation will ultimately expand tenfold to include more than 100,000 satellites. "If growth continues, Starlink will one day carry the majority of internet traffic. At that point, it is the internet and everything just connects to Starlink."
3. Artificial intelligence
SpaceX recently merged with xAI, an artificial intelligence research lab. The registration statement (Form S-1) states: "We own and operate what we believe to be the largest AI training data center clusters on Earth, including Colossus I and Colossus II." xAI also develops Grok frontier models and enterprise AI applications.
The company recently signed two big deals. It will provide compute capacity to Anthropic for $1.25 billion per month, and it will provide compute capacity to Alphabet's Google for $920 million per month. Those deals are worth $26 billion per year, which represents a material acceleration from the $3.2 billion in sales xAI reported in 2025.
Here's the big picture: SpaceX is unique in its vertical integration. No other company brings together the launch capacity, connectivity technology, and AI infrastructure needed to build and run orbital data centers. Musk believes orbital data centers (i.e., powered by the sun and cooled by space) will solve the energy constraints of terrestrial data centers.
Collectively, SpaceX estimates its total addressable market at $28.5 trillion. That figure includes $370 billion from space mission and launch services, $1.6 trillion from Starlink broadband and mobile services, and $26.5 trillion from AI infrastructure and applications.
History says SpaceX's stock will drop sharply during its first year on the public market
SpaceX will be the largest IPO on record, with an initial market capitalization of $1.77 trillion. That alone is not an issue, but it implies an absurdly expensive valuation. The company reported $19.3 billion in revenue in the past year, bringing its price-to-sales (P/S) ratio to 92.
For context, Palantir Technologies is the most expensive stock in the S&P 500 at 63 times sales. But SpaceX is going public at a valuation 46% higher, leaving plenty of downside risk, especially since large IPOs have historically declined in their first year on the market.

As shown above, the 10 largest U.S. IPO stocks declined by an average of 21% during their first year. That may surprise readers, as IPO stocks (especially highly anticipated ones like SpaceX) frequently skyrocket on the first trading day. But they often give back those gains and then some.

The an automotive manufacturer's shares have seen an increase of 9.58% over the last month, surpassing the Auto-Tires-Trucks sector's loss of 4.7% and the S&P 500's loss of 0.03%.

General Motors (GM) Registers a Bigger Fall Than the Market: Important Facts to Note

(RTTNews) - General Motors Company (GM) is ramping up its battery and energy storage plans to tap into the increasing demand for electricity, particularly fueled by artificial intelligence and the rise of data centers.
The company revealed its intention to improve vehicle-to-grid technology for electric vehicle owners and is also teaming up with Peak Energy to develop next-gen sodium-ion batteries.
According to Kurt Kelty, GM's Vice President of Battery and Sustainability, sodium-ion batteries could really cut down on costs and simplify large-scale energy storage, mainly because they might not need active cooling systems.
He believes this tech can perform better over a wider range of temperatures and last longer than the current battery options we have. GM expects to have sodium-ion battery cells ready for customer use after 2028.
On top of that, GM is still working to repurpose EV batteries for energy storage systems, collaborating with Redwood Materials and its battery joint venture with LG Energy Solution. They're producing more affordable lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries while seeing sodium-ion tech as a long-term fix for grid-level storage.
Moreover, GM is expanding its vehicle-to-grid services, allowing EVs to send electricity back to homes or utility grids when demand is high, which could help customers save on energy bills.
They're partnering with utility providers in California and Michigan and have introduced an Energy Pass program to make public charging easier, which will even include access to Tesla Superchargers.
Additionally, starting with the 2027 model year, all GM electric vehicles will feature the North American Charging Standard port.

General Motors Expands Battery And Energy Storage Strategy Amid Rising Power Demand

One of the important takeaways from MP Materials’ MP first-quarter 2026 results may be the rapid growth of its Magnetics segment. The company reported Magnetics revenues of $21.1 million in the quarter, a more than fourfold increase from the prior-year period’s $5.2 million.
Segment adjusted EBITDA reached $9.6 million compared with $0.49 million in the year-ago quarter, reflecting growing profitability as the production of magnetic precursor products continues to scale.
The Magnetics segment began generating revenues from the sales of magnetic precursor products to General Motors GM in the first quarter of 2025. Deliveries commenced in March 2025, contributing $5.2 million to first-quarter 2025 revenues. The segment commenced the manufacturing of neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) permanent magnets in December 2025.
The trend is significant because it demonstrates MP Materials’ transition from being primarily a mining company to becoming an integrated manufacturer of rare-earth-based products. Historically, the company generated revenues largely from the sale of rare earth materials. Today, MP is increasingly moving downstream into the production of magnetic materials.
At the center of its efforts is its Fort Worth, TX facility (Independence), which serves as both the production hub and engineering headquarters for the segment. In April 2022, the company entered into a long-term agreement to supply magnets and precursor products manufactured at the Independence Facility to General Motors as its foundational customer.
In July 2025, the company entered into a landmark long-term supply agreement with Apple AAPL for the development, manufacture and supply of magnets from the Independence Facility, as well as the development and installation of scaled recycling capabilities at Mountain Pass to produce the contained rare earths from post-industrial and post-consumer recycled rare earth feedstocks. The company is also pursuing sales opportunities to other customers for its future magnet products.
Management’s confidence in this business is evident from its ongoing investments. During the first quarter, MP expanded operations at its Independence facility and broke ground on its “10X” magnetics facility. Once completed and scaled, it will produce an estimated 7,000 MTs of magnets per year, taking MP Materials’ overall U.S. rare earth magnet production capacity to an estimated 10,000 MTs per year. In addition, the company is preparing to commission heavy rare earth separation capabilities at Mountain Pass, enabling a more complete domestic supply chain for permanent magnets.
MP’s Price Performance, Valuation & Estimates
MP Materials’ shares have gained 99.5% in a year compared with the industry’s 42.2% growth.
MP is trading at a forward 12-month price/sales multiple of 19.21X, a significant premium to the industry’s 1.60X.

The Zacks Consensus Estimate for MP Materials’ 2026 earnings is pegged at 16 cents per share, indicating an improvement from the loss of 24 cents in 2025. The estimate for 2027 is $1.06 per share, indicating a 562.5% year-over-year improvement.

MP's Magnetics Segment Q126 Revenues Surge: Is This the Turning Point?

By now, you've heard the news: Intuitive Machines (NASDAQ: LUNR) has lost the Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) contract, at least for now, "helping" to set the stage for a rapid-fire 33% sell-off in the space stock's shares last week. Wall Street analysts had been betting on NASA to reward Intuitive, the first space company to land on the moon since the Apollo era half a century ago, with a lunar rover contract, too.
Instead, NASA picked two lower-profile space companies to build its first two rovers: privately held Astrolab and Lunar Outpost.

NASA makes its choice
As part of a wide-ranging "update on Moon Base rovers, landers, missions" last month, NASA announced that it has awarded two firm-fixed-price contracts for lunar rovers. Astrolab will receive $219 million to build its Crewed Lunar Vehicle, or CLV‑1, based on the company's Jeep Wrangler-sized "FLEX" rover design.
The 1-ton vehicle can travel at 6 mph and can carry two astronauts and/or up to 1.6 metric tons of supplies. Astronauts can drive it, or it can be operated remotely. Partners, including Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE), Axiom Space, and Venturi Space, assisted in developing it.
NASA awarded a similar $220 million to Lunar Outpost to build a Pegasus rover -- also a modified and lighter design, this one based on Lunar Outpost's Eagle rover.
Pegasus is described as having manual, remote-control, and autonomous driving modes and can travel up to 9 mph. Lunar Outpost says Pegasus should have a lifespan of about a year and can travel roughly 560 miles before it must be replaced. To build the vehicle, Lunar Outpost enlisted a team of much better-known partners, including General Motors (NYSE: GM), Goodyear Tire & Rubber (NASDAQ: GT), and Leidos (NYSE: LDOS).
What happens next?
Both Astrolab and Lunar Outpost are expected to spend the next 18 months designing, building, and testing their rovers, implying they should be ready to go by December 2027. Assuming all goes well, they will then be loaded into Blue Origin's Blue Moon Mk 1 lunar landers, carried by Blue Origin New Glenn rockets, for delivery to the moon -- with plenty of time to accompany NASA's astronauts on the 2028 Artemis IV moon landing and subsequent missions.
(Note: On May 28, a New Glenn rocket exploded during a routine engine test, destroying Blue Origin's launch pad in the process. This may push the timeline out a bit, and give Astrolab and Lunar Outpost even more time.)
And what about Intuitive Machines?
Meanwhile, the question Intuitive Machines investors want answered is simply: Is this the end? With Astrolab and Lunar Outpost having snapped up both rover contracts, does this leave Intuitive out in the cold?
The answer is: not necessarily. While Intuitive was shut out of the first $439 million in contract awards, NASA has budgeted some $4.6 billion for the LTV project, and says it will "expand opportunities for additional vendors through on‑ramp competitions ... as Moon Base efforts advance." This probably means that Intuitive Machines will have further opportunities to bid for LTV work.

2 Space Stocks You've Never Heard Of Before Just Won $439 Million to Build NASA Lunar Rovers

(RTTNews) - General Motors (GM) said its bidirectional-capable EVs, when paired with GM's home energy systems, can become a residential power resource capable of sustaining a home for days during localized grid failures. These EVs and energy systems are also engineered to support vehicle-to-grid power flow. The company is integrating bidirectional capability as a foundational standard across entire portfolio.
General Motors is also developing batteries for large-scale, energy storage systems for utilities and major power users, while leveraging connected electric vehicles to feed power back into the local, residential grids. To fix a power grid stressed by AI data centers, the company is partnering with Peak Energy to develop and deploy built-for-purpose sodium ion chemistry for grid-scale storage systems.
In Northern California, in collaboration with Pacific Gas and Electric Company, General Motors projects that by 2030, a localized fleet of 130,000 GM EVs will be operational, with over 52,000 systematically participating in grid-balancing protocols. In Michigan, the company is testing with DTE Energy, using GM employee homes, to grow reliable backup capacity together.
Currently, GM alone has more than 250,000 bidirectional capable vehicles on American roads.
