Key Points
General Motors has been a solid performer, but I expect it to outperform for years to come.
There are some big catalysts that could take it to the $200 level, including software revenue and its massive buybacks.
At the current price, GM trades for just seven times forward earnings despite excellent momentum in its business.
I'm making the seemingly bold prediction that General Motors (NYSE: GM) will reach a $200 stock price by the end of 2030. For this to be an accurate prediction, General Motors' stock would need to rise by 130% from its current level, or by about 18% annually.
Based on the company's guidance, General Motors trades for about seven times forward earnings at the current share price of about $87. And this is despite continued strong results from the automaker, massive buybacks that aren't slowing, and continued expected growth in 2026 and 2027 at a minimum. I'd argue that this should be a $200 stock now, but I certainly see a path to getting there within the next five years.

What will it take for GM to reach a $200 stock price?
There are several major catalysts that could lift the stock to $200, even if the market continues to give it a single-digit P/E multiple. Just to name a few:
Based on the current share price, GM's new buyback authorization should lead to an approximately 8% reduction in the outstanding share count this year. If this were to continue through 2030, which there's no reason to believe it won't, GM's share count would decline by about one-third between now and then, which should serve to boost the stock price accordingly.
GM has right-sized its electric vehicle capacity in response to market changes, but it remains an unprofitable part of the business for now. But in a recent CNBC interview, CEO Mary Barra not only said that she expects EV adoption to gradually move forward, and that the company is seeing few EV adopters go backward and return to internal combustion cars, but that the company should reach EV profitability, even without government incentives, sooner than most experts think.
GM's software revenue could turn out to be a far bigger catalyst than investors seem to give it credit for. This is revenue from services like OnStar and Super Cruise. Deferred revenue from software and services is expected to grow by an impressive 40% to $7.5 billion this year, and with things like eyes-off self-driving set to roll out within the next few years, this could be just the beginning. And keep in mind that, unlike revenue from vehicle sales, this is high-margin revenue that could have a major impact on the bottom line as it grows.
Of course, there's a lot that could go wrong. The auto industry is highly cyclical, so a recession between now and 2030 could result in a massive decline in sales and profits. However, General Motors proved more resilient than many experts had expected during the pandemic and the 2022 inflation surge, and all signs point to strong growth ahead. I'm predicting that GM's stock price will reach $200 by the end of 2030, and if things go well, this could be just the starting point.

Tesla: Why Legacy EV Business Takes a Back Seat
Tesla’s legacy EV business accounts for roughly three-quarters of its entire revenue stream. However, unlike past years, Tesla investors are unlikely to be hyper-focused on this result for three reasons:
· Bad News is Already Priced In: With the end of the Federal EV tax credit, a slowdown in sales is already priced into TSLA shares.
· Interest Rates are Expected to Fall: Higher interest rates have led to a slowing of the EV business across the board. However, with interest rates expected to fall later in the year, this headwind will be alleviated.
· Diversification beyond Legacy EV Business: Tesla is diversifying its revenue streams beyond its legacy EV business.
Tesla: Key Earnings Drivers
Unlike traditional EV makers, Tesla shares have always traded at a premium due to its ability to innovate. While companies like Ford (F) and General Motors (GM) are one-dimensional, Tesla has expanded its product offering dramatically in recent years. Below are three key areas to watch.
1. Tesla Energy: Tesla’s most underrated business segment. Amid increasing demand from energy-hungry data centers, Tesla Energy is growing at a robust 84% year-over-year. With the AI buildout only gaining steam, Tesla Energy is well-positioned to achieve triple-digit growth over the next few years. In addition to strong growth, Tesla Energy’s gross margins are expanding and reaching new highs.

Tesla Q4 EPS Preview: Sluggish Sales & New Frontiers

A pair of intriguing value stocks are standing out after exceeding Q4 earnings expectations on Tuesday morning with respect to auto giant General Motors GM and investment management leader Invesco IVZ.
Spiking over +50% in the last year respectivley, GM and Invesco stock have impressively outperformed the broader market. That said, both stocks are still trading at noticeable discounts to the benchmark S&P 500 and many of their respective industry peers in terms of various valuation metrics.
Following their Q4 reports, GM appears to be in store for higher highs, with IVZ presenting an intriguing buy-the-dip opportunity. GM stock spiked nearly +9% in today’s trading session, hitting a new all-time high of $87 a share, while IVZ dipped 5% on a pullback from a recent 52-week high of $29.

Shareholder-Friendly Returns Highlight GM’s Q4 Report
GM’s strong underlying operating performance was able to overshadow a net loss of $3.21 billion, primarily due to $7.2 billion in special charges tied to unused EV manufacturing equipment.
Highlighting GM’s operational performance was the announcement of a new $6 billion share repurchase plan and a 20% dividend increase, signaling confidence in the company’s long-term cash flow.
Plus, GM’s Q4 adjusted EPS of $2.51 still beat expectations of $2.20 by 14% and climbed over 30% from $1.92 per share a year ago. This was despite Q4 sales of $45.28 billion missing estimates of $46.13 billion and falling from $47.71 billion in the prior year quarter due to the end of the $7,500 federal tax credit for new EV purchases.

Record AUM Boosts Invesco’s Q4 Results
Long-term inflows and higher operating revenues supported Invesco’s favorable Q4 results despite a $1.8 billion non-cash impairment charge, which was attributed to writing down the value of certain intangible assets.
Still, net inflows of $19.1 billion pushed Invesco’s assets under management (AUM) to a record $2.2 trillion. This was primarily driven by index and fixed income services, as well as ETFs such as the popular Invesco QQQ QQQ, which gives access to the performance of the largest and most innovative tech companies with regard to the Nasdaq-100 Index.
Invesco’s Q4 adjusted EPS of $0.62 beat expectations of $0.57 by nearly 9% and spiked 19% from $0.52 per share in the comparative quarter. Quarterly sales increased 8% to $1.25 billion and edged estimates of $1.24 billion.

GM’s Positive Guidance & Invesco’s Strategic Priorities
Expecting “another year of strong financial performance”, GM expects full-year fiscal 2026 EPS to increase to a range of $11-$13 from $10.60 per share in FY25. Additionally, GM forecasts FY26 adjusted EBIT at $13 billion-$15 billion compared to $12.7 billion last year and projects adjusted automotive free cash flow at $9 billion-$11 billion versus $10.6 billion in FY25.
Holding the #2 spot in the domest EV market behind Tesla TSLA, GM does anticipate significantly lower EV volume in 2026, but also expects EV losses to improve by $1-$1.5 billion due to right-sizing production and reduced one-time charges.
Although Invesco didn’t issue formal guidance, the investment management firm shared its strategic priorities for FY26. This includes private markets expansion through partnerships with Barings and LGT Group, continued portfolio simplification, and an emphasis on ETF growth, including structural improvements for the QQQ. Notably, Invesco’s FY25 adjusted EPS increased 19% to $2.03, with annual sales rising 6% to $4.66 billion.
Attractive Valuations & Dividends
Regarding value, IVZ has traded near the preferred level of less than 2X forward sales, with GM at 0.4X. Furthermore, GM trades at just 6X forward earnings with IVZ at an attractive 10X.
More intriguing is that relative to their expected earnings growth, GM and IVZ are making a clear argument for being undervalued with PEG ratios under the admirable level of 1X.

The cherry on top is that GM’s annual dividend yield is edging toward a respectable 1%, with Invesco’s at an enticing 2.93%.

2 Portfolio Worthy Value Stocks to Consider After Q4 Results: GM, IVZ

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) on Tuesday closed up +0.41%, the Dow Jones Industrials Index ($DOWI) (DIA) closed down -0.83%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) closed up +0.88%. March E-mini S&P futures (ESH26) rose +0.42%, and March E-mini Nasdaq futures (NQH26) rose +0.89%.
Stock indexes settled mostly higher on Tuesday, with the S&P 500 posting a new all-time high and the Nasdaq 100 posting a 2.75-month high. Strength in chipmakers and AI infrastructure stocks led the broader market higher on Tuesday, after Micron Technology jumped more than 5% after it said it plans to invest $24 billion in Singapore and expand its memory-chip capacity. Also, strong Q4 corporate earnings results are underpinning stocks. Stocks maintained their gains on Tuesday despite an unexpected decline in the Conference Board’s US Jan consumer confidence index to an 11.5-year low.

The weakness in health insurance stocks weighed on the Dow Jones Industrials on Tuesday after the US government proposed holding payments to private Medicare plans flat next year. Health insurers added to their losses after UnitedHealth Group forecast a decline in 2026 revenue, the first annual contraction in more than 30 years.
Stocks are also being pressured by President Trump’s new threat of 100% tariffs on US imports from Canada, the possibility of a US government shutdown over ICE funding, lingering concerns about Greenland, and business and travel disruptions from the massive storm that just crossed the US. In addition, there is political uncertainty about the Fed, as the FOMC is expected to leave rates unchanged at its meeting this week, potentially drawing new threats from Mr. Trump for refusing to cut rates further.
The risk of another partial government shutdown is negative for stocks. Senate Democrats threatened to block a government funding deal over Department of Homeland Security/ICE funding after the ICE shooting of an ICU nurse in Minnesota on Saturday. There could be a partial government shutdown when the current stopgap funding measure expires this Friday.
ADP reported that US private payrolls rose an average of 7,750 per week in the four weeks ending January 3, the smallest weekly increase in six weeks.
The US Nov S&P composite-20 home price index rose +1.39% y/y, stronger than expectations of +1.20% y/y.
The Conference Board US Jan consumer confidence index unexpectedly fell -9.7 to an 11.5-year low of 84.5, weaker than expectations of an increase to 91.0.
The US Jan Richmond Fed manufacturing survey rose +1 to -6, slightly weaker than expectations of -5.
The market’s focus this week will be on new tariff news and the prospects for a continued resolution (CR) to fund the government. On Wednesday, the FOMC is expected to keep the fed funds target range unchanged at 3.50%-3.75%. Post-meeting comments on Wednesday from Fed Chair Powell will also be scrutinized for clues to the future of Fed policy. On Thursday, initial weekly unemployment claims are expected to increase by 5,000 to 205,000. Also, Q3 nonfarm productivity is expected to be unrevised at 4.9%. In addition, the Nov trade deficit is expected to widen to -$44.10 billion. Finally, Nov factory offers are expected to increase by +1.6% m/m. On Friday, Dec PPI final demand is expected to ease to +2.8% y/y from +3.0% y/y in Nov, and Dec PPI ex-food and energy is expected to ease to +2.9% y/y from +3.0% y/y in Nov. Also, the Jan MNI Chicago PMI is expected to climb by +0.8 to 43.5.
Q4 earnings season is in full swing, with 102 of the S&P 500 companies scheduled to report earnings this week. Microsoft, Meta Platforms, and Tesla report earnings results after the close on Wednesday, and Apple reports after the close on Thursday. Earnings have been a positive factor for stocks, with 81% of the 83 S&P 500 companies that have reported beating expectations. According to Bloomberg Intelligence, S&P earnings growth is expected to climb by +8.4% in Q4. Excluding the Magnificent Seven megacap technology stocks, Q4 earnings are expected to increase by +4.6%.
The markets are discounting a 3% chance of a -25 bp rate cut at this week’s FOMC meeting on Tuesday and Wednesday (Jan 27-28).
Overseas stock markets settled higher on Tuesday. The Euro Stoxx 50 rose to a 1-week high and closed up +0.62%. China’s Shanghai Composite closed up +0.18%. Japan’s Nikkei Stock 225 closed up +0.85%.
Interest Rates
March 10-year T-notes (ZNH6) on Tuesday closed down by -1 tick. The 10-year T-note yield rose +1.2 bp to 4.223%. Strength in stocks on Tuesday weighed on T-notes. Also, slack demand for the Treasury’s $70 billion auction of 5-year T-notes undercut T-note prices as the auction had a bid-to-cover ratio of 2.34, below the 10-auction average of 2.36. Losses in T-notes were limited on Tuesday after the US Jan consumer confidence index unexpectedly declined to an 11.5-year low.
European government bond yields move higher on Tuesday. The 10-year German bund yield rose +0.8 bp to 2.875%. The 10-year UK gilt yield climbed to a 3-week high of 4.527% and finished up by +2.8 bp at 4.525%.
Eurozone Dec new car registrations rose +5.8% y/y, the sixth consecutive month of increases.
Swaps are discounting a 0% chance of a +25 bp rate hike by the ECB at its next policy meeting on February 5.
US Stock Movers
Chip makers and AI infrastructure stocks moved higher on Tuesday. Lam Research (LRCX) closed up more than +6% to lead gainers in the Nasdaq 100, and Micron Technology (MU) closed up more than +5% after it said it plans to invest $24 billion in Singapore and expand its memory-chip capacity. Also, Western Digital (WDC), Seagate Technology Holdings Plc (STX), KLA Corp (KLAC), and Applied Materials (AMAT) closed up more than +4%. In addition, Intel (INTC) closed up more than +3%, and ASML Holding NV (ASML) and Broadcom (AVGO) closed up more than +2%.
The Magnificent Seven technology stocks rallied on Tuesday, providing support to the broader market. Amazon.com (AMZN) and Microsoft (MSFT) closed up more than +2%, and Apple (AAPL) and Nvidia (NVDA) closed up more than +1%. Also, Alphabet (GOOGL) closed up +0.39%, and Meta Platforms (META) closed up +0.09%. Bucking the trend, Tesla (TSLA) closed down -0.99%.
Health insurance stocks retreated on Tuesday after the US government proposed holding payments to private Medicare plans flat next year. Humana (HUM) closed down more than -21% to lead losers in the S&P 500, and UnitedHealth Group (UNH) closed down more than -19% to lead losers in the Dow Jones Industrials after it forecast a decline in 2026 revenue, the first annual contraction in more than 30 years. Also, Elevance Health (ELV) and CVS Health (CVS) closed down more than -14%, and Alignment Healthcare (ALHC) closed down more than -12%. In addition, Centene (CNC) closed down by more than -10%, and Molina Healthcare (MOH) closed down more than -8%.
Redwire Corp (RDW) closed up more than +28% after being awarded a contract for the Missile Defense Agency Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense contract.
Corning (GLW) closed up more than +15% to lead gainers in the S&P 500 after announcing a multiyear $6 billion agreement with Meta Platforms to supply optical fiber, cable, and connectivity solutions to Meta’s data centers.
CoreWeave (CRWV) closed up more than +9% after Deutsche Bank upgraded the stock to buy from hold with a price target of $140.
General Motors (GM) closed up more than +8% after reporting Q4 adjusted EPS of $2.51, better than the consensus of $2.28 and forecasting full-year adjusted EPS of $11.00 to $13.00, the midpoint above the consensus of $11.79.
HCA Healthcare (HCA) closed up more than +7% after reporting Q4 net income of $1.88 billion, better than the consensus of $1.73 billion.
RTX Corp. (RTX) closed up more than +2% after reporting Q4 adjusted sales of $24.24 billion, well above the consensus of $22.63 billion.
Sanmina (SANM) closed down more than -22% after forecasting Q2 revenue of $3.1 billion to $3.4 billion, weaker than the consensus of $3.51 billion.
Agilysys Inc. (AGYS) closed down more than -20% after reporting Q3 adjusted EPS of 42 cents, weaker than the consensus of 46 cents.

S&P 500 Posts a Record High on Tech Strength and Solid Corporate Earnings

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) today is up +0.47%, the Dow Jones Industrials Index ($DOWI) (DIA) is down -0.84%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) is up +0.87%. March E-mini S&P futures (ESH26) are up +0.48%, and March E-mini Nasdaq futures (NQH26) are up +0.90%.
Stock indexes are mostly higher today, with the S&P 500 posting a 2-week high and the Nasdaq 100 posting a 2.75-month high. Strength in chipmakers and AI infrastructure stocks is leading the broader market higher today, with Micron Technology rising 5% after it said it plans to invest $24 billion in Singapore and expand its memory-chip capacity. Also, strong Q4 corporate earnings results are underpinning stocks. Stocks maintained their gains today despite an unexpected decline in the Conference Board’s US Jan consumer confidence index to an 11.5-year low.

The weakness in health insurance stocks is weighing on the Dow Jones Industrials after the US government proposed holding payments to private Medicare plans flat next year. Health insurers added to their losses after UnitedHealth Group forecast a decline in 2026 revenue, the first annual contraction in more than 30 years.
Stocks are also being pressured by President Trump’s new threat of 100% tariffs on US imports from Canada, the possibility of a US government shutdown over ICE funding, lingering concerns about Greenland, and business and travel disruptions from the massive storm that just crossed the US. In addition, there is political uncertainty about the Fed, as the FOMC is expected to leave rates unchanged at its meeting this week, potentially drawing new threats from Mr. Trump for refusing to cut rates further.
The risk of another partial government shutdown is also weighing on stocks. Senate Democrats threatened to block a government funding deal over Department of Homeland Security/ICE funding after the ICE shooting of an ICU nurse in Minnesota on Saturday. There could be a partial government shutdown when the current stopgap funding measure expires this Friday.
ADP reported that US private payrolls rose an average of 7,750 per week in the four weeks ending January 3, the smallest weekly increase in six weeks.
The US Nov S&P composite-20 home price index rose +1.39% y/y, stronger than expectations of +1.20% y/y.
The Conference Board US Jan consumer confidence index unexpectedly fell -9.7 to an 11.5-year low of 84.5, weaker than expectations of an increase to 91.0.
The US Jan Richmond Fed manufacturing survey rose +1 to -6, slightly weaker than expectations of -5.
The market’s focus this week will be on new tariff news and the prospects for a continued resolution (CR) to fund the government. On Wednesday, the FOMC is expected to keep the fed funds target range unchanged at 3.50%-3.75%. Post-meeting comments on Wednesday from Fed Chair Powell will also be scrutinized for clues to the future of Fed policy. On Thursday, initial weekly unemployment claims are expected to increase by 5,000 to 205,000. Also, Q3 nonfarm productivity is expected to be unrevised at 4.9%. In addition, the Nov trade deficit is expected to widen to -$44.10 billion. Finally, Nov factory offers are expected to increase by +1.6% m/m. On Friday, Dec PPI final demand is expected to ease to +2.8% y/y from +3.0% y/y in Nov, and Dec PPI ex-food and energy is expected to ease to +2.9% y/y from +3.0% y/y in Nov. Also, the Jan MNI Chicago PMI is expected to climb by +0.8 to 43.5.
Q4 earnings season is in full swing, with 102 of the S&P 500 companies scheduled to report earnings this week. Earnings have been a positive factor for stocks, with 81% of the 83 S&P 500 companies that have reported beating expectations. According to Bloomberg Intelligence, S&P earnings growth is expected to climb by +8.4% in Q4. Excluding the Magnificent Seven megacap technology stocks, Q4 earnings are expected to increase by +4.6%.
The markets are discounting a 3% chance of a -25 bp rate cut at this week’s FOMC meeting on Tuesday and Wednesday (Jan 27-28).
Overseas stock markets are higher today. The Euro Stoxx 50 rose to a 1-week high and is up +0.46%. China’s Shanghai Composite closed up +0.18%. Japan’s Nikkei Stock 225 closed up +0.85%.
Interest Rates
March 10-year T-notes (ZNH6) today are down by -1 tick. The 10-year T-note yield is up +0.4 bp to 4.215%. Strength in stocks today is weighing on T-notes. Also, supply pressures are undercutting T-note prices ahead of a $70 billion Treasury auction of 5-year T-notes later today. T-notes recovered almost all of their losses after the US Jan consumer confidence index unexpectedly declined to an 11.5-year low.
European government bond yields are mixed today. The 10-year German bund yield is down -0.2 bp to 2.865%. The 10-year UK gilt yield is up +2.0 bp to 4.517%.
Eurozone Dec new car registrations rose +5.8% y/y, the sixth consecutive month of increases.
Swaps are discounting a 0% chance of a +25 bp rate hike by the ECB at its next policy meeting on February 5.

Chip makers and AI infrastructure stocks are moving higher today. Seagate Technology Holdings Plc (STX) is up more than +6% to lead gainers in the Nasdaq 100, and Lam Research (LRCX) and Western Digital (WDC) are up more than +5%. Also, Micron Technology (MU) is up more than +4% after it said it plans to invest $24 billion in Singapore and expand its memory-chip capacity. In addition, Applied Materials (AMAT) is up more than +4%, and KLA Corp (KLAC), ASML Holding NV (ASML), and Intel (INTC) are up more than +3%. Finally, Nvidia (NVDA), Broadcom (AVGO), Marvel Technology (MRVL), and Microchip Technology (MCHP) are up more than +1%.

General Motors (GM) is up more than +9% after reporting Q4 adjusted EPS of $2.51, better than the consensus of $2.28 and forecasting full-year adjusted EPS of $11.00 to $13.00, the midpoint above the consensus of $11.79.
CoreWeave (CRWV) is up more than +8% after Deutsche Bank upgraded the stock to buy from hold with a price target of $140.

Stocks Edge Higher as Chip Makers Rally

We have a big earnings morning to report. Rather than launch into any pithy pontification about the trajectory of the stock market, let’s allow the numbers to speak for themselves, shall we?
Boeing BA posted a noisy Q4 report ahead of today’s open, with a big beat showing on the bottom line, but when subtracting the one-time item Digital Aviation Solutions sale to Thoma Bravo for $10.55 billion, the aircraft builder posted a loss of -$1.91 per share versus expectations of -$0.40. Revenues in the quarter — presumably including this massive sale in the quarter — are up +57% year over year to $23.95 billion. Beleaguered health insurer UnitedHealth UNH put up mixed results for its Q4 report this morning, beating estimates by 2 cents to $2.11 per share on the bottom line, with $113.22 billion coming in -0.04% on the top. Capping healthcare costs — as per President Trump’s missive — throw shade on the company’s immediate future. Shares are -15% at this hour in today’s pre-market, helping the Dow underperform the other major indexes. For more on UNH’s earnings, click here.
General Motors GM sharers are up +4% at this hour, with earnings of $2.51 per share outpacing the Zacks consensus by +14% on quarterly revenues of $45.29 billion, -1.83%. But the future apparently looks bright for the top American carmaker, as the company has decided to increase its dividend by +20%. For more on GM’s earnings, click here.
United Parcel Service UPS posted beats on both top and bottom lines this morning, with earnings of $2.38 per share on $24.48 billion representing positive surprises of +7.2% and +1.95%, respectively. Shares were up on the news initially, but are now trading modestly down. UPS stock is +7% so far from the start of 2026.
What to Expect After the Market Opens
January Consumer Confidence is expected to hit the tape a half-hour after the opening bell rings. An expected print of 90 would be slightly above the 89.1 reported a month ago, but still below the 100 points or so we’d been enjoying for much of the past four years. The November government shutdown is now somewhat in the past; the consumer is likely feeling strain from a delicate labor market and erratic policy shifts on a domestic and global scale.
After today’s close, Zacks Rank #2 (Buy)-rated Texas Instruments TXN reports earnings for Q4. Expectations are for flat earnings growth year over year, but +10.7% on revenues from a year ago. The chipmaker is riding a streak of eight-straight quarterly earnings beats, and the company’s stock is already +13% from the start of this year.

GM (GM) Q4 2025 Earnings Call Transcript

General Motors GM reported fourth-quarter 2025 adjusted earnings of $2.51 per share, which beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $2.20. Higher-than-expected revenues from GM North America (GMNA), GM International (GMI) and GM Financial segments led to the outperformance. The bottom line also rose from the year-ago quarter’s $1.92. Revenues of $45.29 billion missed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $45.4 billion and fell from $47.71 billion recorded in the year-ago period.
The U.S. auto giant recorded adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of $2.84 billion, higher than $2.51 billion in the prior-year quarter. The automaker’s share in the GM market was 8.6% in the reported quarter, the same as the year-ago quarter.
General Motors Company Price, Consensus and EPS Surprise
Segmental Performance of GM
GMNA generated net revenues of $36.89 billion, down from $39.5 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2024. The figure, however, outpaced our model’s projection of $36.85 billion. Wholesale vehicle sales in the GMNA unit totaled 780,000 units, down from 876,000 units reported in the year-ago quarter. The figure missed our estimate of 794,000 units. The segment’s adjusted EBIT totaled $2.24 billion, down from $2.27 billion recorded in the year-earlier period. The metric also missed our estimate of $2.3 billion.
GMI net revenues in the reported quarter amounted to $4.03 billion, up from the year-ago quarter’s $3.99 billion. The metric also outpaced our expectation of $3.84 billion on higher-than-expected deliveries. The segment’s wholesale vehicle sales of 157,000 units decreased from 163,000 units in the year-ago quarter but topped our forecast of 147,000 units. GMI reported an operating profit of $278 million, up from $221 million reported in the year-ago period and outpaced our estimate of $123.7 million.
GM Financial generated net revenues of $4.3 billion in the quarter, which increased from $4.11 billion recorded in the year-ago period and surpassed our prediction of $4.12 billion. The segment recorded an EBT-adjusted operating profit of $609 million, down from $719 million recorded in the year-ago period. The metric also missed our prediction of $700.1 million.
GM’s Financial Position
General Motors had cash and cash equivalents of $20.94 billion as of Dec. 31, 2025. The long-term automotive debt at the end of the quarter was $15.52 billion. Net automotive cash provided by operating activities amounted to $5.61 billion during the quarter under review. The company recorded an adjusted automotive free cash flow of $2.76 billion in the fourth quarter of 2025, up from $1.82 billion generated in the year-ago quarter.
General Motors Provides FY26 Guidance
For 2026, GM expects net income attributable to stockholders in the range of $10.3-$11.7 billion compared with $2.7 billion reported in 2025. It expects adjusted EBIT in the range of $13-$15 billion compared with $12.7 billion reported in 2025. Automotive operating cash flow is expected to be between $19 billion and $23 billion compared with $18.7 billion reported in 2025, while adjusted automotive free cash flow is projected in the band of $9-$11 billion compared with $10.6 billion reported in 2025. Adjusted EPS is estimated in the range of $11-$13 compared with $10.60 reported in 2025.
