My 5-year prediction for DKNG stock
The prediction markets are turning into big business, as the combined monthly global trading volume for the platforms Kalshi and Polymarket skyrocketed from $5 billion in September 2025 to $24 billion in April 2026. Naturally, more companies want to enter the space, with even the financial platform Robinhood Markets offering sports-related and prediction contracts. But while the space will become increasingly competitive, prediction markets also present an opportunity for DraftKings.
One of its advantages is that it has 3.6 million monthly active users and strong name recognition, having launched its fantasy sports platform in 2012. It already has a built-in user base receptive to prediction markets, thanks to its fantasy sports users, making it easier to cross-sell those newer endeavors.
In addition, as prediction markets face pushback from state regulators, DraftKings is all too familiar with navigating regulatory concerns. In 2015, for instance, DraftKings received a cease-and-desist order from the state of New York, as its fantasy sports operations were deemed illegal. That gives it experience working with regulators and finding a resolution.
That said, future regulatory risks are real concerns, as they could weigh down DraftKings’ revenue growth prospects. That's part of the risk of investing in the company, which any potential investor will need to be comfortable taking on.
For the next quarter, analysts are expecting sales growth of 9.8%, and for 2027, 13.3%. If DraftKings can keep growing revenue, profitability, and avoid regulatory setbacks, over the next five years, it could be a company that outperforms the broader markets.

DraftKings' 2026 Outlook: Driving Long-Term Profitability From Sports to Predictions

Snowflake SNOW) shares surged 16% in Thursday’s trading session after the cloud-data leader crushed its Q2 expectations yesterday evening and raised its full-year outlook.
More importantly, Snowflake’s growth is accelerating as artificial intelligence drives greater usage of its AI Data Cloud platform, giving investors plenty to like despite the stock’s increasingly lofty valuation.

Snowflake Crushes Q2 Expectations
Snowflake posted Q2 adjusted EPS of $0.62, handily topping expectations of $0.45 and rising from $0.35 per share in the prior year quarter. Revenue rose 35% year over year to $1.54 billion, also surpassing estimates of $1.47 billion.
Even more encouraging was product revenue, which climbed 37% to $1.49 billion, marking Snowflake’s third consecutive quarter of accelerating product-revenue growth.
Remaining performance obligations (RPO), representing contracted future revenue, increased 30% YoY to $9 billion, while the number of customers generating more than $1 million in trailing-12-month product revenue jumped 27% to 828.
Notably, Snowflake has surpassed top-line estimates in every quarter since it went public in 2020 and has exceeded earnings expectations for nine consecutive quarters, with an average EPS surprise of 22.77% in its last four quarterly reports.
AI Momentum & Raised Guidance
AI is becoming a meaningful growth catalyst rather than simply a long-term opportunity, with management indicating that AI products accounted for roughly half of Snowflake’s recent growth acceleration.
Adoption of its AI coding agent CoCo surpassed 9,100 accounts after adding more than 2,000 during Q2, while CoWork, Snowflake’s agentic workplace offering, reached 5,800 accounts. The company also added 692 net new customers during the quarter.
Reflecting this momentum, Snowflake raised its full-year product-revenue forecast to $6.07 billion, or 36% growth, from $5.84 billion and 31% growth previously.
For Q3, product revenue is projected between $1.588 billion and $1.593 billion, representing another impressive 37%-38% increase. Snowflake also lifted its full-year non-GAAP operating-margin outlook to 14.5% from 13.5%, showing improving profitability alongside accelerating growth.
It's noteworthy that Snowflake's growing enterprise footprint is supported by strategic partnerships with Amazon AMZN), Microsoft MSFT), Alphabet GOOGL), and Nvidia NVDA), helping enterprises deploy increasingly sophisticated data and AI workloads across its platform.
Prominent customers have included Capital One COF), Thomson Reuters TRI), Booking Holdings' BKNG) Booking.com, and DraftKings DKNG).
Snowflake's Premium Valuation
The biggest reason investors may be hesitant to chase today's rally is valuation.
Even before the Q2 post-earnings surge, SNOW was trading at more than 15X forward sales with a forward P/E multiple above 150X.
Those marks are significantly above its Zacks Internet-Software industry averages of around 4X forward sales and 20X forward earnings, respectively.
Today's 16% jump only expands that premium on a static-estimate basis, although higher revenue and EPS projections following the strong report should help offset some of the valuation expansion.

Bottom Line
Snowflake’s Q2 results appear strong enough to justify investors' enthusiasm. Accelerating product-revenue growth, rapidly increasing AI adoption, a $9 billion backlog, and raised growth and profitability guidance suggest the company’s fundamental story is getting stronger.
While SNOW's premium valuation could make additional near-term upside more difficult following today's sharp rally, investors with a longer-term horizon may still have reason to remain bullish, especially if AI keeps driving faster platform consumption.
Supporting that outlook, Snowflake stock currently sports a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy), as upward earnings estimate revisions following such an impressive beat-and-raise quarter could further strengthen its investment case.

Note that stock-based compensation represented roughly 51.2% of operating cash flow, which inflates reported cash generation since SBC is a non-cash expense added back in the cash flow statement.
Risk profile comparison
Amazon faces intense competition across retail, advertising, and cloud computing. Which stock would I buy in 2026?
DraftKings is an undeniably interesting company, given the continued expansion of legal online sports betting and digital gaming in the United States. Its growth has been rapid, but investors should look closely at the quality of that growth. In 2025, DraftKings generated $662.9 million in operating cash flow; however, that figure included a $339.3 million add-back for stock-based compensation.
Because stock-based compensation can dilute existing shareholders, the company's reported cash generation does not tell the whole story. DraftKings also ended the year with approximately $1.84 billion in long-term debt, although its substantial cash balance helps offset that obligation.
Amazon is the less speculative choice. In 2025, it generated $716.9 billion in revenue and reported $77.7 billion in net income. Its scale, diversified revenue streams, and strong operating cash flow give it far more financial flexibility than DraftKings. The company is making a major investment in AI and cloud infrastructure, which has sharply reduced near-term free cash flow. That spending is not without risk, but it also supports the long-term competitiveness of AWS and Amazon's broader technology ecosystem.
Given the choice between the two, I would buy Amazon. DraftKings offers greater upside if its expansion and profitability continue, but Amazon provides a more compelling combination of scale, financial resilience, diversified growth opportunities, and cash-generating strength. Of course, the better investment also depends on its valuation at the time of purchase. However, on business quality alone, Amazon is the clearer choice.

As Prediction Markets Proliferate, Is DraftKings Stock a Buy or Sell?

DraftKings (NASDAQ:DKNG), a digital sports betting, fantasy sports, and iGaming platform, closed at $24.03, up 8.39%. Investors focused on prediction-market and customer-activity growth after Q2 results missed expectations. Trading volume reached 36.1M shares, coming in about 173% above its three-month average of 13.2M shares. DraftKings IPO'd in 2019 and has grown 145% since going public.
How the markets moved today
The S&P 500 (SNPINDEX:^GSPC) rose 0.59% to 7,756, while the Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX:^IXIC) gained 1.28% to 26,686. Among online gaming, sports betting, and digital entertainment peers, Flutter Entertainment (NYSE:FLUT) closed at $94.74, up 1.86%, while Rush Street Interactive (NYSE:RSI) finished at $24.86, down 0.88%, highlighting mixed trading across sector rivals.
What this means for investors
While the headline of DraftKings’ sales dropping 5% may look bad at first blush, it was actually a pretty solid quarter. In a quarter where many favorites won, or “customer-friendly sport outcomes” occurred (as DraftKings called it), most of the company’s non-sales figures were fine:
sports consumer volume rose 15%
monthly unique payers (MUPs) jumped 9%
annualized total volumes on its predictions services quintupled from April to July
maintained 2026 guidance
announced core betting business to generate $1 billion in adjusted EBITDA this year
That said, I’m surprised the market is this optimistic about the results, especially given that the company whiffed on both the top and bottom lines relative to analysts’ estimates. Sure, prediction markets may be the future for DKNG stock -- and it seems to be off to a good start in that arena -- there are still a lot of regulatory hurdles to clear. And that is before we figure out if there ends up being any cannibalization between sports betting and predictions.
I understand the excitement surrounding the stock, but I’m not rushing to buy today.

Stock Market Today, Aug. 7: DraftKings Surges 8% on Prediction-Market Growth After Q2 Results

(RTTNews) - DraftKings Inc. (DKNG) on Thursday reported a second-quarter net loss, compared to a profit last year. The online betting company maintained its full-year 2026 guidance.
Net loss attributable to common stockholders was $67.6 million, or $0.14 per share, compared with net income of $157.9 million, or $0.30 per share, a year earlier.
Revenue declined 4.6% to $1.44 billion from $1.51 billion a year ago. The decrease in revenue was driven primarily by customer-friendly sport outcomes and increased promotional reinvestment associated with new customer acquisition on our Sportsbook and Predictions offerings.
For fiscal 2026, DraftKings maintained its revenue guidance of $6.5 billion to $6.9 billion.

Roblox Corporation RBLX sustained strong monetization momentum even as safety-related changes pressured new-user acquisition. In the first quarter of 2026, monthly unique payers increased 52% year over year to 31 million, well ahead of daily active user growth. Revenue rose 39% year over year to $1.4 billion, while bookings increased 43% to $1.7 billion.
Engagement also remained strong across the platform. Daily active users grew 35% year over year to 132 million, while hours engaged increased 43% to 31 billion. International markets remained a key growth driver, with DAUs outside the United States and Canada rising 40% and hours engaged increasing 50%. Japan and India also recorded strong user and engagement growth.
Older users represent an important monetization opportunity for Roblox. In the United States, users aged 18 and above monetized at a rate more than 50% higher than users under 18. To encourage more content for this audience, Roblox raised the DevEx rate for spending generated by age-checked adult users in the United States from 26.6% to 37.8%, effective June 8, 2026.
However, the global rollout of age checks has created short-term friction. Reduced communication activity and weaker organic sign-ups through app stores have pressured new-user acquisition. Roblox consequently lowered its full-year 2026 bookings-growth outlook to 8-12% from its prior expectation of 22-26%.
To address these pressures, Roblox plans to increase age-check adoption, improve communication features and refine discovery algorithms around long-term engagement. These efforts, along with stronger incentives for adult-focused content, could help support user growth and sustain monetization momentum over time.

Roblox’s shares have declined 2.2% in the past three months against the industry’s 5.8% growth. In the same time frame, other industry players like DraftKings Inc. DKNG and Monarch Casino & Resort, Inc. MCRI have gained 16.8% and 28.5%, respectively.
