The company was formerly known as Denali Holding Inc. and changed its name to Dell Technologies Inc. in August 2016. Per Counterpoint’s Q1’26 data, Apple led the smartphone market with 21% share and shipments increased 5% year over year, driven by strong iPhone 17 demand, proactive supply chain management and improved performance in China.

The PC segment climbed up 4% in the first quarter of calendar 2026, according to Gartner, while per IDC the growth was far more modest at 2.5%. Per IDC, Apple had a market share of 9.5%, up 40 basis points (bps) on a year-over-year basis. Shipment grew 9.1% year over year to 6.2 million. Per Gartner, Apple had a market share of 10.6%, up 80 bps year over year, while shipments grew 12.7% year over year to 6.68 million.
In terms of shipments, Apple outperformed Dell Technologies’ DELL and Lenovo’s LNVGY growth of 9.5% and 7.6%, respectively, per Gartner data. HP’s HPQ shipment declined 4.9%. According to IDC’s list, ASUS shipment growth was 17.1%, trailed by Apple’s 9.1%, Lenovo’s 8.6% and Dell Technologies’ 7.7% growth. HP’s shipment declined 4.9%.
In March, Apple launched the new MacBook Air with M5 support and the new MacBook Pro with M5 Pro and M5 Max. The company also launched MacBook Neo, its most affordable laptop ever, with a starting price of $599.
The Zacks Consensus Estimate for fiscal second-quarter Mac net sales is pegged at $8.18 billion, suggesting 3% year-over-year growth.
Apple’s iPad Sales to Increase Y/Y
iPad accounted for roughly 6% of fiscal first-quarter net sales. iPad revenues are expected to have benefited from improving demand for iPad Pro that Apple launched in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2025. In March, Apple launched the iPad Air, powered by M4.

Cisco’s diversified portfolio, strong hyperscaler relationships and expanding presence with emerging cloud clients provide a solid foundation for sustained growth. According to technology-focused equity research house Bluefin Research, Oracle has just canceled an order for 300 to 400 Super Micro GB300 NVL72 server racks loaded with Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) chips.

Super Micro's dilemma(s)
Pundits suggest Oracle canceled the contract to distance itself from accusations that Super Micro co-founder Yih-Shyan "Wally" Liaw made illicit sales of Nvidia chips to China. If true, then the fact that Super Micro is losing one contract should come as no surprise -- and other contract losses may ensue.
In fact, in what may be an unrelated story, Bluefin notes Super Micro is also losing sales to xAI ahead of the SpaceX IPO. (And SpaceX now owns xAI.)
Is the China scandal the culprit here as well? Perhaps, but the more likely reason, says Bluefin, is that SpaceX is refusing older B200 GPU chips that Super Micro has been trying to unload, preferring to buy faster GB200 NVL72 servers from Dell (NYSE: DELL) and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE).
This, too, could prove troublesome for Super Micro, if it ends up stuck with old and obsolete AI chip inventory that it can only sell at a loss -- or not sell at all.
Is the risk priced in?
But here's the good news for Super Micro investors: After falling 18.5% in price over the past year, Super Micro no longer looks terribly expensive, costing only 21 times trailing earnings. And despite its issues, analysts still expect Super Micro to grow its earnings 26% per year over the next five years.
An AI stock with a PEG ratio of less than 1.0? Sounds intriguing.

Broadcom stock has been consolidating for nearly nine months. During that period, sentiment toward mega-cap tech shifted, as investors questioned the sustainability of AI capex and stretched valuations. As a result, much of the group traded sideways to lower.
However, that consolidation has served a purpose. Valuations have reset, while underlying fundamentals have continued to strengthen. AI spending has not slowed and has even accelerated, undermining the bearish narrative.
More recently, with geopolitical concerns in the Middle East fading into the background, leadership stocks like Broadcom have regained momentum. Many are now breaking out from extended bases and moving back toward record highs.
Technically, AVGO has already broken out from a nested base and is now approaching its highs. Following a strong upward move, the stock has formed a tight bull flag continuation pattern over the past several sessions.
From here, the setup is constructive. A breakout would likely lead to a test of all-time highs, while any short-term pullback could present a secondary entry opportunity within an otherwise strong uptrend.
Should Investors Buy Shares in AVGO?
Broadcom checks nearly every box investors look for: powerful secular tailwinds, elite growth at scale, upward earnings revisions, and a constructive technical setup.
Despite its size and strong recent performance, the stock still trades at a reasonable valuation relative to its growth, with AI demand continuing to accelerate and visibility supported by a massive backlog.
With shares breaking out and momentum returning to the group, AVGO appears well-positioned to make another move higher. For investors looking to gain exposure to the AI buildout beyond traditional GPU leaders, Broadcom remains a compelling buy.
RH has been under pressure for several years, as a challenging housing backdrop has weighed heavily on demand for high-end home furnishings. With mortgage rates elevated and housing turnover subdued, the company’s core customer base has pulled back, leading to stalled revenue growth and limited visibility into a near-term rebound.
That fundamental weakness has been reflected in earnings expectations. Estimates have been revised sharply lower, with profitability coming under pressure as the company continues to invest in its brand, galleries, and long-term positioning despite softer demand. As a result, the stock has significantly underperformed not only the broader market, but also an already weak housing and home-related sector.
Looking ahead, the path forward remains uncertain. RH is still highly tied to a recovery in housing activity and discretionary spending, both of which remain constrained in the current environment. At the same time, ongoing estimate revisions suggest analysts are not yet seeing a clear inflection point.
With limited near-term catalysts, continued earnings pressure, and a weak technical backdrop, RH remains a stock investors should approach with caution or avoid altogether.
RH Shares Fall on Earnings Downgrades
Earnings revisions for RH have turned decisively negative, reinforcing the weak fundamental backdrop. Estimates have been lowered across the board, with current quarter projections flipping to a loss within the past week. Full year expectations have been cut by roughly 36%, while next year’s estimates are down more than 20%.
This broad deterioration has pushed the stock to a Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell), reflecting both declining earnings visibility and worsening analyst sentiment.
At the same time, valuation offers little support. Shares trade at approximately 21.8x forward earnings, while long-term EPS growth is projected at just 10.2% annually. That mismatch, premium multiple against slowing growth and negative revisions, remains difficult to justify, particularly given the uncertain demand environment.
Until estimates stabilize and a clearer recovery in housing-driven demand emerges, the risk/reward profile remains unfavorable.
Should Investors Avoid RH Stock?
RH faces a difficult combination of weakening fundamentals, negative earnings revisions, and an uncertain macro backdrop tied closely to housing and discretionary spending. With estimates still moving lower and no clear catalyst for a near-term turnaround, visibility remains limited.
At the same time, the stock’s valuation does not fully reflect these risks, leaving shares vulnerable to further downside if conditions fail to improve.
Until there is clear evidence of stabilization in both the housing market and RH’s earnings outlook, investors are likely better served remaining on the sidelines.

Apple announced on Monday that Tim Cook will transition to Executive Chairman while long-time hardware leader John Ternus will take over as CEO from September 2026. This move, part of a well-planned succession strategy, reduces uncertainty — often a key overhang for mega-cap stocks — and reinforces continuity given Ternus’ 25-year tenure at Apple.
The transition appears low-risk. Cook will remain actively involved at the board level, while Ternus brings deep product expertise, having overseen major innovations across iPhone, Mac and wearables. Nevertheless, Ternus is expected to face the heat related to Apple’s AI strategy that has been lagging compared with peers Microsoft and Google. Apart from stiff competition in the smartphone and personal computer (PC) domains, AAPL shares have suffered from issues with its AI initiatives, with the postponement of several features, which has been a concern for investors.
Apple’s AI ambitions comprise Siri with personal context, onscreen awareness, and app actions, in addition to including broader Apple Intelligence features across devices. Ternus’ first job apparently looks at improving execution, which Apple has lagged in its AI endeavors.
Apple Faces Stiff Competition
AAPL is facing stiff competition from the likes of Lenovo, Dell Technologies and HP in the PC domain. Per Gartner, worldwide PC shipments totaled 62.8 million units in the first quarter of 2026, up 4% year over year. Lenovo led with 26.5% market share, trailed by HP and Dell Technologies with 19.3% and 16.5%, respectively. Apple had a 10.6% market share.
However, HP’s forecast of a decline in fiscal 2026 PC shipments, with only slight revenue growth coming from higher specifications, not from more buyers, raises concerns about its near-term growth prospects. Dell Technologies expects the Client Solutions Group segment that offers branded PCs, including notebooks, desktops and workstations, to climb 1% year over year in fiscal 2027.
The smartphone segment is chock-a-block with competition from Chinese vendors, as well as Samsung and Google Pixel. Per Counterpoint’s latest data, global smartphone shipments declined 6% year over year in the first quarter of 2026, with Apple leading with 21% market share and shipments growing 5% year over year, driven by strong iPhone 17 demand and improved performance in China. Samsung’s shipments declined 6% year over year with 20% market share.

Apple shares have inched up 0.4% year to date, outperforming the broader Zacks Computer and Technology sector’s return of 6%.
The AAPL stock is trading at a premium, with a forward 12-month price/earnings of 30.52X compared with the broader sector’s 24.96X. AAPL has a Value Score of F.
The Zacks Consensus Estimate for fiscal 2026 earnings is pegged at $8.49 per share, up by a nickel over the past 30 days, suggesting 13.8% year-over-year growth.

Apple CEO Transition Signals Stability, AI Remains Key Challenge

Intel Corporation INTC has teamed up with Nokia Corporation NOK and Dell Technologies Inc. DELL to advance next-generation 5G edge infrastructure. The partnership introduced a new edge-based User Plane Function (UPF) appliance designed for telecom operators building faster, low-latency networks.
In this joint effort, Intel’s Xeon 6 Granite Rapids-D System-on-Chip (SoC) plays a key role by delivering enhanced performance and integrated AI capabilities for far-edge deployments. The hardware is optimized for telecom workloads, including 5G core processing and UPF, enabling efficient routing of user data and supporting faster, more reliable network services.
The collaboration introduced a compact edge appliance designed for rugged, limited space environments, offering scalable performance, reduced latency and strong energy efficiency. The solution delivers up to a 30% improvement in 5G core UPF performance along with significant CPU power savings, making it a cost-effective and efficient option for modern telecom infrastructure.
Intel is strengthening its role in the telecom sector by supporting the shift toward edge networks. Its Xeon 6 platform helps operators expand capacity and improve service delivery more efficiently.
How Are Competitors Performing in the Telecom Sector?
Intel faces competition from Qualcomm Incorporated QCOM and Advanced Micro Devices AMD. Qualcomm is developing new 5G Advanced and future 6G technologies. It has introduced the X105 5G modem, including artificial intelligence (AI) features and satellite connectivity to improve network performance and coverage. Qualcomm is also focusing on AI across devices, edge and cloud to make networks faster and more efficient.
AMD is helping telecom companies use AI in networks by moving from testing to real-world deployment. It is working with industry partners to build energy-efficient 5G networks and support edge applications. Telecom companies like Deutsche Telekom use AMD processors to build more efficient and AI-ready 5G networks.

Intel Joins Nokia & Dell in 5G Edge Innovation: Will it Boost Profits?

And some stocks can be great buys, even if they skipped this market dip.
Demand for AI compute capacity continues to trend above available resources across the leading cloud services. This trend is good news for Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) and Dell Technologies (NYSE: DELL). Both companies are scheduled to announce their earnings results in May. Another strong report with a positive outlook might be all it takes to send these stocks to new highs.

Here's why these companies are competitively positioned to benefit from the AI build-out for years to come.
Nvidia
Nvidia shares have been flat for six months, but demand for its AI chips remains strong. That could make the next quarterly earnings report on May 20 a catalyst for a post-earnings bounce.
The numbers point to a company with a durable competitive advantage. Last quarter, the data center business hauled in $62 billion of revenue, representing a year-over-year increase of 75% and a quarter-over-quarter increase of 22%. Nvidia's high 75% gross margin is translating into robust earnings growth.
That high gross margin reflects pricing power. Customers pay up for Nvidia's GPUs because they enable better AI models, helping to attract more users and generate more revenue. Each new chip Nvidia introduces enables AI companies to build smarter models and deliver higher-quality outputs to users.
The company's next-generation Rubin chips already have customers lining up. Nvidia says it expects more than $1 trillion in cumulative orders for its current-generation Blackwell and upcoming Rubin chips through 2027.
This projection doesn't include other products Nvidia is making, including its networking business, which saw revenue surge 263% year over year last quarter. It also doesn't factor in new products Nvidia may launch in the future following its $20 billion deal to license Groq's inference technology.
With the stock trading at just 17 times next year's expected earnings, Nvidia shares are trading at a discount to their underlying growth rate. Revenues rose by 66% in fiscal year 2026, after all. This imbalance suggests the market is undervaluing its prospects. Assuming Nvidia reports another strong earnings report and guides for even better results next quarter, the stock could have room to run in 2026 and beyond.
Dell Technologies
Dell is a leading supplier of servers for data centers. With top AI companies planning to increase capital spending by roughly 50% or more in 2026, based on The Motley Fool's research, Dell is poised to see growing revenue. The shares have surged despite the tech sector's recent dip, but they still trade at a modest earnings multiple heading into the next quarterly report on May 28.
Last year, Dell shipped $25 billion worth of AI servers and closed the year with $43 billion of AI-related orders yet to be fulfilled. The company guided for AI revenue to reach $50 billion this year as it works through that backlog.
Dell has scaled its AI server business from basically nothing just a few years ago. It now serves more than 4,000 customers. CEO Michael Dell believes the company will benefit as the economy shifts from "calculating and computing" to "thinking and intelligence."
The AI build-out is constrained by shortages in key components, such as memory, but Dell's scale and supplier relationships help it secure parts and deliver systems faster. That execution is driving repeat orders.
About half of Dell's business still depends on a sluggish PC and peripherals market, which helps explain the stock's low valuation. But faster growth in AI servers could trigger a valuation rerating. A $43 billion backlog of unfilled AI server orders should help.
Dell's revenue grew 19% last year to $113 billion, with adjusted earnings up 27%. Even with that growth, the stock is trading at a forward price-to-earnings multiple of just 14 at the time of writing. This low valuation could set up more gains in 2026 and beyond.
