It serves employers, insurance companies, unions, government employee groups, health plans, prescription drug plans, Medicaid managed care plans, CMS, plans offered on public health insurance, and other sponsors of health benefit plans. The Pharmacy & Consumer Wellness segment sells prescription and over-the-counter drugs, consumer health and beauty products, and personal care products. This segment also distributes prescription drugs; and provides related pharmacy consulting and other ancillary services to care facilities and other care settings. It operates online retail pharmacy websites, LTC pharmacies and on-site pharmacies, retail specialty pharmacy stores, compounding pharmacies and branches for infusion and enteral nutrition services. The company was formerly known as CVS Caremark Corporation and changed its name to CVS Health Corporation in September 2014. CVS Health Corporation was incorporated in 1996 and is headquartered in Woonsocket, Rhode Island.

The award secures Molina's place among six health plans selected to participate in Illinois' Medicaid managed care program, serving roughly 3.1 million beneficiaries. As one of the largest Medicaid markets in the country, Illinois represents an important growth and retention opportunity for managed care organizations. Maintaining a presence in the state helps Molina protect a key source of membership and revenues within its largest business segment.
The development comes as Molina continues to navigate industrywide Medicaid enrollment challenges. The company ended the first quarter of 2026 with approximately 4.6 million Medicaid members. MOH Wins Illinois Medicaid Contract, Reinforcing Long-Term Stability

Danaher Corporation DHR has completed the acquisition of Masimo Corp. for $180 per share in cash. The transaction was valued at approximately $9.9 billion in total, including assumed debt and net of acquired cash.
Based in Irvine, CA, Masimo is engaged in developing and producing a wide array of industry-leading monitoring technologies, including innovative measurements, sensors, patient monitors, and automation and connectivity solutions. The company introduced Masimo SET Measure-through Motion and Low Perfusion pulse oximetry in 1995.
Acquisition Rationale of DHR
The latest buyout is in sync with Danaher’s policy of acquiring businesses to strengthen its business and expand market share. The integration of Masimo’s advanced sensor technologies, pulse oximetry solutions and AI-enabled patient-monitoring capabilities is expected to enhance the company’s diagnostics offerings. This acquisition will also enable DHR to provide more comprehensive solutions for acute-care settings, improving clinical decision-making and patient outcomes.
Masimo will operate as a standalone company within the Diagnostics segment, alongside Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Cepheid and Beckman Coulter Diagnostics.

Danaher maintained its previously issued second-quarter and full-year 2026 guidance, excluding any contribution from Masimo. The company does not expect Masimo to have a material impact on its second-quarter 2026 results. Danaher Boosts Product Portfolio With the Acquisition of Masimo

When assessing a company’s valuation, investors typically rely on metrics such as the price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio and the price-to-sales (P/S) ratio. The P/E ratio measures how much investors are willing to pay for each dollar of a company’s earnings, while the P/S ratio indicates the value the market assigns to each dollar of revenues generated by the business.
Although P/E and P/S multiples are among the most widely used valuation tools, the price-to-book (P/B) ratio is another useful metric, particularly for identifying potentially undervalued stocks and companies with attractive long-term growth prospects. The P/B ratio compares a company’s market value with its book value, providing insight into how the market values the firm's net assets.
The P/B ratio is calculated as:
P/B Ratio = Market Capitalization ÷ Book Value of Equity
or equivalently,
P/B Ratio = Share Price ÷ Book Value per Share.

What is Book Value?
There are several ways in which book value can be defined. Book value is the total value that would be left over, according to the company’s balance sheet, if it went bankrupt immediately. In other words, this is what shareholders would theoretically receive if a company liquidates all its assets after paying off all its liabilities.
It is calculated by subtracting total liabilities from the total assets of a company. In most cases, this equates to common stockholders’ equity on the balance sheet. However, depending on the company’s balance sheet, intangible assets should also be subtracted from total assets to determine book value.
Book Value Per Share = (Total Assets – Total Liabilities) ÷ Number of Outstanding Shares
Understanding P/B Ratio
By comparing the book value of equity to its market price, we get an idea of whether a company is under- or overpriced. Like P/E or P/S ratios, it is always better to compare the P/B ratio within industries.
A P/B ratio of less than one means that the stock is trading at less than its book value or the stock is undervalued and, therefore, a good buy. Conversely, a stock with a ratio greater than one can be interpreted as being overvalued or relatively expensive.
For example, a stock with a P/B ratio of 2 means that we pay $2 for every $1 of book value. Thus, the higher the P/B, the more expensive the stock.
But there is a warning. A P/B ratio of less than one can also mean that the company is earning weak or even negative returns on its assets or that the assets are overstated. In such a case, the stock should be shunned because it may be destroying shareholder value. Conversely, the stock’s price may be significantly high — thereby pushing the P/B ratio to more than one — in the likely case that it has become a takeover target, a good enough reason to own the stock.
Moreover, the P/B ratio is not without limitations. It is useful for businesses like finance, investments, insurance and banking or manufacturing companies with many liquid/tangible assets on the books. However, it can be misleading for firms with significant R&D expenditure, high debt, service companies, or those with negative earnings.
In any case, the ratio is not particularly relevant as a standalone number. One should analyze other ratios like P/E, P/S and debt to equity before arriving at a reasonable investment decision.
Screening Parameters
Price to Book (common Equity) less than X-Industry Median: A lower P/B compared with the industry average implies that there is enough room for the stock to gain.
Price to Sales less than X-Industry Median: The P/S ratio determines how much the market values every dollar of the company’s sales/revenues — a lower ratio than the industry makes the stock attractive.
Price to Earnings using F(1) estimate less than X-Industry Median: The P/E ratio (F1) values a company based on its current share price relative to its estimated earnings per share — a lower ratio than the industry is considered better.
PEG less than 1: PEG links the P/E ratio to the future growth rate of the company. The PEG ratio portrays a more complete picture than the P/E ratio. A value of less than 1 indicates that the stock is undervalued, and investors need to pay less for a stock that has bright earnings growth prospects.
Current Price greater than or equal to $5: They must all be trading at a minimum of $5 or higher.
Average 20-Day Volume greater than or equal to 100,000: A substantial trading volume ensures that the stock is easily tradable.
Zacks Rank less than or equal to #2: Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) or 2 (Buy) stocks are known to outperform irrespective of the market environment.

Danaher Corporation DHR is gaining from strength in its Biotechnology segment. The segment’s core revenues grew 7% on a year-over-year basis in the first quarter of 2026, supported by continued momentum in the bioprocessing business. On a geographical basis, the increase in core sales was driven by higher sales in Western Europe and China.
The bioprocessing business’ performance is supported by an increase in demand for consumables from large pharmaceutical customers. Also, solid demand from pharmaceutical customers for monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) has been buoying the bioprocessing business. In the first quarter of 2026, orders for bioprocessing equipment increased more than 30%. For 2026, Danaher expects core revenues from the bioprocessing business to increase in high single-digits on a year-over-year basis. Also, solid momentum in the medical filtration and research consumables business bodes well for the Biotechnology segment.
However, the Biotechnology segment is facing challenges owing to lower demand for medical filtration and research consumables in the discovery and medical business. Declining demand for equipment is also acting as a headwind for it.
Despite these challenges, Danaher anticipates core revenues from the Biotechnology segment to increase in mid-single digits on a year-over-year basis in the second quarter of 2026. An increase in demand for products within the bioprocessing business is expected to support stable segment performance in the coming quarters.

Among its major peers, Labcorp Holdings Inc.’s LH Biopharma Laboratory Services segment generated net sales of $780.6 million in the first quarter of 2026, up 8.2% year over year. CVS Health does a 180
On May 28, CVS Caremark, the pharmacy benefits manager (PBM) under CVS Health's umbrella, announced it would start covering Zepbound on Oct. 1. This news is especially important, as CVS had previously removed the medicine from its formulary. So, this is quite the reversal. Further, CVS Health will also cover Eli Lilly's new GLP-1 pill, Foundayo, effective June 1.
These developments allowed Eli Lilly to catch up to its biggest competitor, Novo Nordisk, whose competing subcutaneous and oral weight loss medicines were already covered by CVS Caremark. Also, as Eli Lilly noted, this decision means the three largest PBMs in the U.S. will cover Zepbound and Foundayo. CVS's decision will help more patients access these medicines at reasonable prices. The expanded access may also help Eli Lilly fend off the threat posed by some telemedicine companies that have built a business model around offering cheaper, knockoff versions of Zepbound.
Is Eli Lilly stock a buy?
Can Eli Lilly continue riding the weight loss tailwind over the next few years, even as competition intensifies? Yes, it can. The drugmaker's coverage progress and early success with Foundayo -- which was only approved in April -- highlight that the anti-obesity market is far from having peaked. Some 80% of Foundayo's patients had never taken GLP-1s before, perhaps because they didn't like injections.
Eli Lilly's broad portfolio can help address the needs of many others who are still sitting on the sidelines. Meanwhile, the company's revenue and earnings are growing much faster than those of its similarly sized peers and continue to impress Wall Street. In the first quarter, Eli Lilly's sales jumped by 56% year over year to $19.8 billion, while its adjusted net earnings per share soared to $8.55, up 156% from the year-ago period.
Further, Eli Lilly has a meaningful lineup and pipeline beyond its core diabetes and weight loss products. Over the next five years, the company should ramp up sales of non-GLP-1 drugs while launching several new ones. Some might argue that, although Eli Lilly is performing well, its shares are far too expensive. They are trading at 29.3x forward earnings, versus an average of 16.9x for healthcare stocks. Also, the rally in bank stocks and managed healthcare companies lifted the broader market, pushing the Dow Jones Industrial Average to a new record high.

The weakness in technology stocks on Thursday weighed on the broader market, keeping the Nasdaq 100 in negative territory. Broadcom fell more than -12% to lead chipmakers lower after its forecast for artificial-intelligence revenue in the current quarter fell short of expectations. Also, CrowdStrike Holdings closed down more than -3% to lead cybersecurity stocks lower, despite reporting better-than-expected Q1 earnings, as the report wasn’t strong enough to lift the stock, which has more than doubled from a March low.
Weaker crude oil prices are a positive factor for stocks and bonds, as WTI crude oil fell more than -3% on Thursday after the US late Wednesday said Israel and Lebanon agreed to a ceasefire if Hezbollah also stops fighting and withdraws militants from areas near the border with Israel. Iran insists a peace deal with the US requires a ceasefire in Lebanon. The agreement would require the Lebanese army to take over after the withdrawal of Israeli troops. However, Hezbollah militants said they refused to abide by the conditions of the ceasefire announced by the US State Department, and clashes continued in southern Lebanon. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that “Communications between Iran and the US have not been cut off, but no tangible progress has been achieved in the negotiating process.”
Thursday’s US economic news was mixed for stocks after weekly jobless claims rose more than expected to a 3.75-month high and Q1 nonfarm productivity was revised lower. Conversely, Q1 unit labor costs were unexpectedly revised lower, easing concerns over wage pressures.
US weekly initial unemployment claims rose +13,000 to a 3.75-month high of 225,000, showing a weaker labor market than expectations of 215,000.
US Q1 nonfarm productivity was revised downward to 0.3% from the previously reported 0.8%, weaker than expectations of 0.4%. Q1 unit labor costs were unexpectedly revised downward to 1.8% from 2.3%, weaker than expectations of an upward revision to 2.4%.
The markets are discounting a 2% chance of a +25 bp rate hike at the next FOMC meeting on June 16-17.
The generally favorable Q1 earnings season is winding down. As of Thursday, 83% of the 494 S&P 500 companies that reported Q1 earnings have beaten estimates. Q1 S&P 500 earnings are projected to climb +12% y/y, according to Bloomberg Intelligence. Stripping out the technology sector, Q1 earnings are projected to increase around +3%, the weakest in two years.

September 10-year T-notes (ZNU6) on Thursday closed up +4.5 ticks, and the 10-year T-note yield fell -2.4 bp to 4.471%. T-note prices moved higher on Thursday, supported by a -3% decline in WTI crude oil prices, which has lowered inflation expectations. The 10-year breakeven inflation rate fell to a 6-week low of 2.365% on Thursday. Fed-friendly US economic news was also positive for T-notes, following weekly jobless claims that rose more than expected and Q1 unit labor costs that were unexpectedly revised lower. T-notes fell back from their best level as stocks rebounded, dampening safe-haven demand for government debt securities.
European government bond yields moved lower on Thursday. The 10-year German Bund yield fell from a 1.5-week high of 3.043% and finished down -1.3 bp to 3.023%. The 10-year UK gilt yield fell -3.3 bp to 4.898%.
Eurozone Apr retail sales fell -0.4% m/m, weaker than expectations of -0.3% m/m.

Humana (HUM) closed up more than +6% to lead managed healthcare stocks higher and gainers in the S&P 500 after Morgan Stanley raised its price target on the stock to $240 from $217. Also, Centene (CNC) closed up more than +5%, and UnitedHealth Group (UNH) closed up more than +5% to lead gainers in the Dow Jones Industrials after Bank of America Global Research upgraded the stock to buy from neutral with a price target of $450. In addition, Elevance Health (ELV) and Molina Healthcare(MOH) closed up more than +4%, and Cigna Group (CI) and CVS Health (CVS) closed up more than +3%. Finally, Cardinal Health (CAH) closed up more than +2%.
Asset managers and bank stocks rallied on Thursday, lifting the broader market. Blackstone (BX) closed up more than +7% to lead gainers in the S&P 500, and Franklin Resources (BEN) closed up more than +5%. Also, Goldman Sachs (GS), Fifth Third Bank (FITB), and US Bancorp (USB) closed up more than +4%.
