Lazard Inc.’s LAZ second-quarter 2025 adjusted earnings per share of 52 cents beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 38 cents. This compared favorably with earnings of 49 cents per share in the year-ago quarter.
Lazard’s results were positively impacted by increases in revenues in the financial advisory and asset management sectors. A rise in assets under management (“AUM”) balances was another positive. However, a decrease in revenues in the corporate segment and elevated operating expenses acted as a spoilsport.
Lazard’s net income (GAAP) was $55.3 million, which rose 10.9% from the prior-year quarter's level.

LAZ’s AUM Rises
As of June 30, 2025, the total AUM was $248.4 billion, which increased 1.5% from the prior-year quarter.
LAZ’s second quarter witnessed a market appreciation of $11.9 billion, foreign exchange appreciation of $8.4 billion and net inflows of $0.7 billion.
The average AUM in the reported quarter was $238.5 billion, down 2.8% year over year.
Lazard’s Balance Sheet Position Strong
The company’s cash and cash equivalents totaled $978.3 million as of June 30, 2025, up 7.7% from the prior quarter. Stockholders’ equity was $786.5 million, up 21.3% sequentially.
LAZ’s Share Repurchase Update
In the reported quarter, Lazard repurchased 0.9 million shares at an average price of $46.44 per share.
As of June 30, 2025, roughly $160 million of authorization remained available for repurchase.

IWF, BX, CRWD, AMT: Large Outflows Detected at ETF

In afternoon trading on Wednesday, Financial stocks are the best performing sector, higher by 0.5%. Within the sector, Apollo Global Management Inc (new (Symbol: APO) and Blackstone Inc (Symbol: BX) are two large stocks leading the way, showing a gain of 3.9% and 3.1%, respectively. Among financial ETFs, one ETF following the sector is the Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (Symbol: XLF), which is up 0.5% on the day, and up 8.08% year-to-date. Apollo Global Management Inc (new, meanwhile, is down 7.75% year-to-date, and Blackstone Inc, is down 3.06% year-to-date. Combined, APO and BX make up approximately 2.5% of the underlying holdings of XLF.
The next best performing sector is the Consumer Products sector, higher by 0.4%. Among large Consumer Products stocks, Tesla Inc (Symbol: TSLA) and J.M. Smucker Co. (Symbol: SJM) are the most notable, showing a gain of 2.9% and 2.0%, respectively. One ETF closely tracking Consumer Products stocks is the iShares U.S. Consumer Goods ETF (IYK), which is up 0.6% in midday trading, and up 7.40% on a year-to-date basis. Wednesday Sector Leaders: Financial, Consumer Products

BlackRock BLK became the first asset manager to surpass $12 trillion in assets under management (AUM), reaching a record $12.53 trillion in the second quarter of 2025. This majorly drove the company’s adjusted earnings of $12.05 per share, which surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $10.66 and jumped 16% from the year-ago quarter.
Further, BLK’s total revenues (on a GAAP basis) of $5.42 billion increased 13% year over year. However, the figure marginally lagged the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $5.43 billion.
Nonetheless, BlackRock shares tumbled 5.9% during yesterday’s trading session after the company reported that a large Asian institutional client pulled $52 billion from a low-cost index strategy. As such, the company’s long-term net inflows of $46 billion in the quarter were down 10% year over year.
Higher AUM Driving BlackRock’s Revenue Growth
The primary driver for the increase in BLK’s top line was the record AUM balance, which was up 18% year over year. The investment management giant achieved this milestone backed by surging U.S. stock markets and robust net client inflows. Further, higher technology services and subscription revenues offered support.
At the start of the quarter, Trump’s surprise tariffs triggered sharp market volatility, with stocks plunging and bond markets shaken. A week later, a 90-day tariff pause eased concerns, leading to a recovery in the S&P 500 and global markets. Hence, BlackRock reported total net inflows of $68 billion in the quarter, driven by $22 billion into cash and money-market funds, $14 billion into digital asset ETFs and $9.8 billion into alternative investments.
Long known for its low-cost stock and bond offerings, BlackRock is steadily expanding its presence in private markets.

Thus, BlackRock’s investment advisory and administration fees (the main and largest revenue component) jumped 15% from the prior-year period to $4.28 billion. Further, technology services and subscription revenues surged 26% to $499 million.
However, performance fees plunged 43% to $94 million.
BLK’s Adjusted Operating Income Rises
Total expenses were $3.69 billion, jumping 23%. The uptick was mainly due to an increase in employee compensation and benefits, which rose 17%.
Further, non-operating income (on a GAAP basis) was $521 million, surging substantially from $214 million in the prior-year quarter.

(RTTNews) - Warehouse REIT announced its switch of recommendation in response to increased Blackstone offer. Under the terms of the increased Blackstone offer, Warehouse REIT shareholders will be entitled to receive 113.4 pence in cash per share. Also, Warehouse REIT shareholders will be entitled to receive and retain the Warehouse July dividend. The total transaction value of the increased Blackstone offer is 115.0 pence per Warehouse share.
The Warehouse Independent Directors have withdrawn their recommendation that Warehouse shareholders vote in favour of the BBOX Offer, and recommended unanimously that Warehouse shareholders accept the increased Blackstone offer. On 25 June 2025, the boards of Tritax Big Box REIT plc and Warehouse REIT announced that they had reached agreement on the terms of a recommended cash and share offer pursuant to which BBOX will acquire the entire issued and to be issued ordinary share capital of Warehouse.
Neil Kirton, the Chair of Warehouse REIT, said: "The Warehouse Independent Directors have carefully evaluated both offers. The Increased Blackstone offer provides Warehouse REIT shareholders with a certain all-cash offer, at a premium to the BBOX offer, which comprises a mixed consideration of new BBOX shares and cash, and the Warehouse Independent Directors now switch their recommendation in favour of the Increased Blackstone offer accordingly."
