This segment also offers heat treat services for aftermarket and original equipment manufacturer applications. The Industrial Solutions segment provides supply chain solutions for offering instrumentation and controls, valve assemblies, sensor devices, fuel system components, electrical junction boxes and wiring, energy storage services, and electromechanical devices; light fabrication, inventory management, and kitting and assembly services; packaging solutions; and supply chain solutions, light fabrication, inventory management, and kitting and assembly services for combined cycle natural gas turbine market. It sells its products to the energy, mining, and infrastructure sectors through its direct sales force and independent sales agents. The company was formerly known as Broadwind Energy, Inc. and changed its name to Broadwind, Inc. in May 2020. Broadwind, Inc. is headquartered in Cicero, Illinois.

Ingersoll Rand (IR) Q2 Earnings Meet Estimates

Cintas Corporation CTAS reported fourth-quarter fiscal 2025 (ended May 31, 2025) earnings of $1.09 per share, which beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.07. The bottom line rose 9% year over year despite an increase in operating costs.

In fiscal 2025, CTAS reported net revenues of $10.34 billion, which increased 7.7% year over year. The company’s adjusted earnings were $4.40 per share, up 16.1% year over year.

The company has two reportable segments, Uniform Rental and Facility Services and First Aid and Safety Services. Other businesses like Uniform Direct Sale and Fire Protection Services are included in All Other. Quarterly sales data is briefly discussed below.

Cintas’ cost of sales (comprising costs related to uniform rental and facility services and others) increased 6.9% year over year to $1.34 billion. It represented 50.3% of net sales. Exiting fiscal 2025, Cintas had cash and cash equivalents of $264 million compared with $342 million at the end of the year-ago fiscal year. Long-term debt was about $2.42 billion compared with $2.03 billion at the end of the year-ago fiscal year.
In fiscal 2025, CTAS generated net cash of $2.17 billion from operating activities, up 4.7% from the year-ago period. Capital expenditures in the same period totaled $408.9 million, down 0.1% year over year. Free cash flow increased 5.9% year over year to $1.76 billion.
The company repurchased shares worth $934.8 million compared with $700 million in the year-ago period. Dividend payments totaled $611.6 million, up 15.2% year over year.
CTAS’ FY26 Guidance
For fiscal 2026, Cintas expects revenues to be in the range of $11-$11.15 billion. The midpoint of the guided range — $11.08 billion — lies above the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $11.02 billion. Earnings per share are estimated to be in the range of $4.71-$4.85. The midpoint of the guided range — $4.78 — lies below the consensus estimate of $4.87.

Cintas' Q4 Earnings Surpass Estimates, Revenues Increase Y/Y

Nordson Corporation NDSN is benefiting from strong momentum in the Advanced Technology Solutions segment. Sales from this segment increased 18% year over year in the second quarter of fiscal 2025 (ended April 2025), driven by growing demand for electronics dispense, optical and x-ray inspection systems product lines within the semi-conductor and electronics end markets. Increase in demand for the nonwovens, packaging and consumer non-durable product lines is also aiding Nordson.
Driven by strength across its businesses, the company expects sales to be in the range of $710-$750 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2025 (ending July 2025), implying an increase of 10.3% at the midpoint on a year-over-year basis.
NDSN solidified its product portfolio and leveraged business opportunities through asset additions. In August 2024, Nordson completed the acquisition of Atrion Corporation, which enabled it to expand its medical offerings in the infusion and cardiovascular therapies market. The buyout was combined with its medical business. Also, in August 2023, the company acquired ARAG Group and its subsidiaries. The acquisition expanded Nordson’s core capabilities in precision dispensing technology, helping it foray into the rapidly growing precision agriculture end market. ARAG is part of its Industrial Precision Solutions segment. In the second quarter of fiscal 2025, acquired assets boosted the company’s total revenues by 7.8%.
Nordson’s commitment to rewarding shareholders through dividends and share buybacks is encouraging. Zebra Technologies Unveils EM45 Android-Based Enterprise Mobile Computer

Allegion plc ALLE is benefiting from stable demand across end markets like education, healthcare, government, hospitality and retail, and the acquisitions of Next Door Company and Trimco within the Allegion Americas segment. The increase in demand for non-residential products also bodes well. Higher demand for electronic security products, driven by growing awareness about the security and safety of people and infrastructure, is supporting the Allegion International segment’s performance. Positive price realization and the acquisition of Lemaar Pty also bode well for the segment. Driven by strength across the business, Allegion’s total revenues are anticipated to increase 1-3% year over year in 2025, while organic sales are expected to increase 1.5-3.5% year over year.
Allegion’s expansion initiatives are expected to drive growth. In June 2025, ALLE completed the acquisition of ELATEC, which is expected to boost its global electronics portfolio in non-residential end markets such as education, healthcare, hospitality, enterprise and industrial. Also in the same month, ALLE acquired Novas to augment its door hardware portfolio. In April 2025, ALLE acquired Trimco Hardware (Trimco), along with its brands and various assets, through one of its subsidiaries. The inclusion of Trimco’s expertise in specialty solutions, coupled with its strong innovation capabilities, enabled Allegion to boost its door and frame portfolio within the Americas segment.
Allegion acquired Lemaar Pty Ltd (Lemaar) in March 2025. This acquisition boosted ALLE’s security and accessibility portfolio in Australia. Also, in February 2025, the company acquired Next Door Company, which expanded its doors and frames portfolio.
Allegion’s commitment to rewarding shareholders through dividends and share buybacks is encouraging. The company paid dividends worth $43.6 million in the first quarter of 2025, reflecting an increase of 3.6% year over year. In the same period, Allegion repurchased shares for $40 million. At the time of exiting the first quarter of 2025, the company was left to repurchase shares worth $200 million under its 2023-approved program. In February 2025, Allegion announced a 6% hike in its quarterly dividend rate, which is now 51 cents per share.

Headwinds Plaguing ALLE
ALLE has been experiencing rising costs and expenses for a while. During the first quarter of 2025, the company witnessed a 3.4% year-over-year increase in the cost of sales due to high raw material costs. Also, selling and administrative expenses inched up 3.1% year over year. This can be attributed to higher investments in new products and channel development, and growth initiatives. High costs pose a threat to Allegion’s bottom line. Escalating costs and expenses, if left unchecked, may negatively impact profitability in the quarters ahead.
Allegion intends to expand its business in new overseas markets. Its international presence exposes it to the risk of adverse currency fluctuations. This is because a strengthening U.S. dollar may require the company to either raise prices or see its margins shrink in locations outside the United States. In the first quarter, forex woes left an adverse impact of 0.8%.

ALLE Gains on Strength in Allegion Americas Segment Amid Cost Woes

Parker-Hannifin Corporation PH is benefiting from strong momentum in the Aerospace Systems segment, driven by strength in the commercial and military end markets across both OEM and aftermarket channels. The segment’s organic revenues increased approximately 12% year over year in the third quarter of fiscal 2025 (ended March 2025). In the quarters ahead, the Aerospace Systems segment is likely to gain from strong demand for its products and aftermarket support services in the general aviation market, driven by growth in air transport activities. Strength in its defense end market, arising from stable U.S. and international defense spending volumes, is also likely to be beneficial. Parker-Hannifin expects the Aerospace Systems segment’s organic sales to increase about 12% from the year-ago level in fiscal 2025 (ending June 2025).
Parker-Hannifin solidified its product portfolio and leveraged business opportunities through asset additions. In September 2022, the company completed the acquisition of Meggitt plc, a global leader in motion and control technologies. The acquisition expanded Parker-Hannifin’s presence in the United Kingdom, positioning it well to provide a broader suite of solutions for aircraft and aero-engine components and systems.
The company has doubled its portfolio of aerospace, filtration and engineered materials in the past eight years. Also, it is strategically shifting toward longer-cycle products (to attain stable and predictable revenue streams) supported by secular growth trends, which is improving its revenue mix. The growth drivers, i.e., the Win strategy, macro-CapEx reinvestment (a strategy of reinvesting capital expenditures into a company's operations, assets and growth initiatives), acquisitions and secular growth trends, are likely to help Parker-Hannifin achieve 4-6% revenue growth by fiscal 2029. The company also expects to increase its earnings by more than 10% per share (CAGR) and is set to achieve a 27% adjusted segment operating margin by fiscal 2029. It is worth noting that PH reported an adjusted segment operating margin of 26.3% in the third quarter, up 160 bps from the year-ago period.
The company is committed to rewarding its shareholders through dividends. In April 2025, PH hiked its dividend by 10% to $1.80 per share (annually: $7.20). In the first nine months of fiscal 2025, Parker-Hannifin rewarded its shareholders with dividends of $630.2 million, up 10.3%. PH repurchased shares worth $750 million in the same period.

Also, softness in the transportation end market, arising from lower demand for automotive cars, is ailing the North America and international businesses. Headwinds in the energy end market, owing to reduced capital spending and lower oil prices, are concerning as well.
Parker-Hannifin intends to boost its revenues and profitability through overseas business expansion. However, this exposes the company's financial performance to various risks like political, environmental and foreign currency exchange rate fluctuations. In the third quarter, foreign currency translation lowered sales by approximately 1%. Foreign currency headwinds are expected to adversely affect the company’s top line by 0.5% in fiscal 2025.

Parker-Hannifin Exhibits Strong Prospects Despite Persisting Headwinds

Allegion plc ALLE recently inked a definitive deal to acquire ELATEC, including Elatec GmbH and other group entities (ELATEC), from Summit Partners through one of its subsidiaries. The deal is valued at €330 million (approximately $379.1 million) on a cash and debt-free basis.
Based in Germany, ELATEC is engaged in providing security and access technology globally. It specializes in RFID credentials and reader solutions. The company’s reader portfolio, built on its proprietary software, supports nearly 100 credential types.
ALLE’s Acquisition Rationale
The latest buyout is in sync with Allegion’s policy of acquiring businesses to expand its market share and customer base. The inclusion of ELATEC’s expertise in RFID reader and credential solutions will enable ALLE to boost its global electronics portfolio in non-residential end markets such as education, healthcare, hospitality, enterprise and industrial. Also, ELATEC’s strong international presence will help Allegion to deepen its relationship with the channel partners.
ELATEC will be incorporated into ALLE’s Allegion International segment and led by its senior vice president, Tim Eckersley. Subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, the acquisition is expected to close in the third quarter of 2025. Allegion expects ELATEC to generate net sales of approximately €60-€65 million (approximately $69-$75 million) in 2026 and contribute positively to the adjusted earnings per share in the same year.
Acquisitions are an essential aspect of Allegion's growth strategy. The company is trying to improve its long-term results by focusing on strategic acquisitions and regular innovations. This month, ALLE acquired Novas to boost its door hardware portfolio. Novas has been incorporated into the Allegion International segment.

Allegion to Boost Product Portfolio With the Acquisition of ELATEC

Illinois Tool Works Inc. ITW is benefiting from positive momentum in the Food Equipment segment. Growth in the institutional end markets in North America, along with higher service revenues and strong demand in the European warewashing equipment end market, has been aiding the segment’s performance. Organic revenues from the segment increased 1.2% in the first quarter of 2025.
The company is also benefiting from strength in the Specialty Products segment. The segment is being driven by strong momentum in the ground support equipment, appliance, consumer packaging and specialty films businesses. Organic revenues from the segment increased 0.9% in the first quarter. Also, strength in the polymers business and growth in the fluids business have been aiding the Polymers & Fluids segment. Organic revenues from the segment inched up 1.7% in the first quarter.
The company is also benefiting from its enterprise initiatives, which focus on enhancing operational efficiency, optimizing the supply chain and building innovative solutions based on demand. Its enterprise initiatives contributed 120 basis points to the operating margin in the first quarter.
The company expects the operating margin to be in the range of 26.5–27.5% for 2025, indicating an increase of 20 basis points year over year at the mid-point. Enterprise initiatives are expected to contribute approximately 100 basis points to the operating margin in 2025.
Management is committed to rewarding shareholders through dividend payouts and share repurchases. In the first three months of 2025, ITW paid dividends worth $441 million and repurchased shares worth $375 million. In August 2024, it hiked its dividend by 7% to $1.50 per share.

In the past year, the Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) company has gained 0.4% compared with the industry’s 0.7% growth.
However, softness in the MTS Test & Simulation business and the consumable semiconductor market in North America, due to declining demand in the industrial and commercial sectors, is worrisome for the Test & Measurement and Electronics segment. The segment’s revenues declined 5.4% year over year in the first quarter.
Also, lower demand in the North American, European and Asia Pacific commercial and residential end markets is weighing on the Construction Products segment, organic revenues from which declined 7.4% year over year in the first quarter.
The company's high debt level remains another concern. Its long-term debt balance at the end of first-quarter 2025 remained high at $7.3 billion, up 15.4% on a sequential basis. Exiting the first quarter, its short-term debt totaled $981 million. Considering its high debt level, the company’s cash and cash equivalents of $873 million do not look impressive.
