Franklin Resources Inc. BEN reported second-quarter fiscal 2026 (ended March 31, 2026) adjusted earnings of 71 cents per share, which surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 55 cents per share. Also, the bottom line compared favorably with 47 cents reported in the year-ago quarter.

Results include certain items. After considering those, net income (GAAP basis) was $268.2 million, up 77.1% year over year.

Franklin’s improved revenues and stable operating performance reflect steady operational progress despite a slight decline in AUM. Its efforts to diversify business through acquisitions and strengthen its distribution platform continue to support long-term growth. However, elevated expenses and pressure on AUM may weigh on near-term performance.

Cash flow can come from bond interest, interest from other types of investments, and, of course, dividends. A dividend is that coveted distribution of a company's earnings paid out to shareholders, and investors often view it by its dividend yield, a metric that measures the dividend as a percent of the current stock price. Many academic studies show that dividends account for significant portions of long-term returns, with dividend contributions exceeding one-third of total returns in many cases.

When it comes to institutional Bitcoin owners, no entity beats Strategy (NASDAQ: MSTR). Through unique financial engineering tactics, this company raises capital from equity and fixed-income markets to acquire more of the cryptocurrency. It owns a whopping 815,061 Bitcoin units, valued at nearly $64 billion, on its balance sheet. Saylor is a notable long-term hodler of this important cryptocurrency.
Michael Saylor, the billionaire technology entrepreneur who transformed Strategy from a software enterprise into a Bitcoin treasury company, believes the cryptocurrency is the best asset to own in the face of fiat currencies being constantly debased. Financial companies are driven by the incentive to make more money
The Bitcoin spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs), launched more than two years ago in January 2024, have been an extremely successful product introduction in the financial services industry. With under $64 billion in net assets, BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust is the dominant offering in the market.
Activity hasn't calmed down. Earlier in April, Morgan Stanley launched its own ETF, the Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust. After 13 trading days, it has amassed $163 million in net assets.
Generating more revenue is the primary goal of these ETF sponsors. As they realize that their clients demand access to Bitcoin, they are incentivized to create these investment vehicles that can rake in fee income.
The ETFs provide a frictionless and regulatory-friendly way for allocators to gain Bitcoin exposure. The iShares Bitcoin Trust is owned by numerous investment firms, including Jane Street and Brevan Howard Capital Management. Even Harvard University's endowment fund owns this ETF. Of course, individual investors have access, too.
These investment managers and individuals are obviously after the huge returns that Bitcoin can possibly provide. They also see the digital asset as a tool for portfolio diversification.
It's becoming clear, however, that institutions are driving Bitcoin adoption now.

Why More Institutional Investors Are Adding Bitcoin to Their Balance Sheets

Ameriprise Financial’s AMP first-quarter 2026 adjusted operating earnings were a record $11.26 per share, which handily surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $10.20. The bottom line reflected a rise of 19% from the year-ago quarter.
Results benefited from higher revenues and improvements in the assets under management (AUM) and assets under administration (AUA) balances. However, an increase in expenses was a headwind.
After considering significant items, net income (GAAP basis) was $915 million or $9.68 per share, up from $583 million or $5.83 per share in the prior-year quarter.
AMP’s Adjusted Revenues Improve, Expenses Rise
Adjusted operating total net revenues in the reported quarter were $4.77 billion, increasing 11% year over year. The top line beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $4.67 billion. Total GAAP net revenues were $4.81 billion, up 11% year over year.
Adjusted operating expenses totaled $3.44 billion, rising 9% year over year.
As of March 31, 2026, total AUM and AUA were $1.67 trillion, up 12% year over year.

BX's Q1 Earnings Top as AUM Hits Record High Despite Tough Environment

SEI Investments Co.’s SEIC first-quarter 2026 adjusted earnings per share of $1.44 surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.29. Moreover, the bottom line reflected a rise of 21% from the prior-year quarter.
Results were aided by higher revenues and a rise in assets under management (AUM) and the first full-quarter contribution from the Stratos acquisition. However, higher expenses acted as a spoilsport.
Results excluded intangible assets, amortization and impairment charges. After considering this, net income attributable to SEI Investments was $174.5 million, up 15.2% from the year-ago quarter.
SEIC’s Revenues & AUM Improve, Expenses Rise
Total quarterly revenues were $622.2 million, up 12.8% year over year. The rise was driven by higher asset management, administration and distribution fees, as well as information processing and software servicing fees. The top line beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $610.8 million.
Total expenses were $432.7 million, up 9.8% year over year. The increase was driven by a rise in almost all cost components, except for consulting, outsourcing and professional fees, and depreciation charges.
Operating income (GAAP) rose 20.6% year over year to $189.5 million, which excludes the impact of intangible assets amortization and impairments. Including this, adjusted operating income increased 23.8% to $198.7 million.
As of March 31, 2026, AUM was $554.1 billion, reflecting a rise of 14% from the prior-year quarter. Client assets under administration (AUA) were $1.29 trillion, up 19.3%. Client AUA did not include $13.3 billion related to Funds of Funds assets reported as of March 31, 2026.
SEI Investments’ Share Repurchase Update
In the reported quarter, SEIC bought back 2.6 million shares for $208.3 million at an average price of $81.55 per share.
