The company was formerly known as Ion America Corp. and changed its name to Bloom Energy Corporation in 2006. Bloom Energy Corporation was incorporated in 2001 and is headquartered in San Jose, California.

3 AI Stocks That Are on Sale Right Now
1. Broadcom Inc. (AVGO)
Broadcom designs and develops semiconductors and infrastructure software solutions. On Sep 2, 2026, it reported third quarter fiscal 2026 results and beat the Zacks Consensus on earnings. Broadcom has a perfect earnings surprise record. It has not missed on earnings in five years.
AI semiconductor revenue in the third quarter rose 221% year-over-year to $16.7 billion. Broadcom expects revenue to accelerate further in the fiscal fourth quarter of 2026 to $21.7 billion, up 236% year-over-year.
Thanks to strong AI demand, earnings are expected to jump 72.9% in fiscal 2026.
The company saw record quarterly free cash flow of $13.7 billion, up 95% from the third quarter of last year. Cash and cash equivalents at the end of the fiscal third quarter was $24 billion.
Yet Broadcom shares are down 14.6% in the last month. It’s attractively priced on a price-to-earnings (P/E) basis. It has a forward P/E of 31.

2. Bloom Energy Corp. (BE)
Bloom Energy manufactures fuel cell systems that provide on-site power to data centers, manufacturing facilities, and mission critical businesses.
On July 28, 2026, it reported its second quarter 2026 results and saw record revenue which surpassed $1 billion for the first time. Bloom Energy also raised full year revenue guidance.
Shares of Bloom Energy are off the June 2026 all-time highs but have recently rallied and are up 19% in the last month.
Bloom Energy isn’t cheap on a P/E basis. It trades with a forward P/E of 104, which is really stretched. But earnings are expected to jump 238% in 2026 with another 85% in 2027. Investors are buying the growth.
Bloom Energy is expected to be added to the S&P 500 on the rebalancing on Sep 21, 2026.
Is this a buying opportunity in a power generation name like Bloom Energy?
3. Sandisk Corp. (SNDK)
Sandisk is a global semiconductor memory company. AI is heavily memory-centric both in data centers and in AI-enabled devices due to higher storage content.
On Aug 5, 2026, Sandisk reported its fiscal fourth quarter 2026 results and saw record revenue, gross margin, and earnings per share. Data center revenue was up 1,298% in the fourth quarter to $3 billion. For the full year, data center revenue jumped 437% to $5.1 billion.
Earnings are expected to jump 201% in fiscal 2027 after soaring 2,270% in fiscal 2026 on strong demand for memory.
Shares of Sandisk are off their all-time highs and are down 3.3% in the last 3 months. But the stock has rallied over the last thirty days, gaining 35.9% in that time.
Sandisk is still cheap on a P/E basis. It’s a true value stock with a forward P/E of just 8.3. A company with a P/E under 10 is considered to be undervalued.

According to a report published by BloombergNEF in February, four major technology companies — Meta, Amazon, Google and Microsoft — accounted for 49% of all global corporate clean energy Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) signed.
With data center power consumption projected to nearly double by 2030, renewables remain the primary scalable solution for meeting this fast-growing load.
Reaching peak renewable generation requires a corresponding expansion in energy storage capacity. Which stock is the better choice right now? The answer could come down to your risk profile and what you're willing to pay.
Bloom is the go-to solution
Hyperscalers can't afford to wait years and years for new grid connections, so they are turning to alternatives, and that's where Bloom has blossomed as a go-to favorite for the AI industry. Bloom can deploy on-site systems in about three months, and that speed has translated into massive sales.

Bloom's second-quarter 2026 revenue reached $1.065 billion, a 166% jump from last year. Gross margin exceeded 34%, and the company's product revenue climbed 215% as orders continued to come in. Bloom's backlog is now approaching $20 billion. Deals and partnerships with AI darlings Oracle, Brookfield Asset Management, and Nebius Group led management to raise its full-year revenue guidance once again to $3.4 billion to $3.8 billion.
Of course, the excitement has led to an incredible run for the stock, which has risen approximately 225% year to date. This means Bloom is trading at an incredible premium and is priced for perfection. Any delays or problems in execution, or a slowdown in demand, could spell trouble for shareholders.
FuelCell Energy could be next
FuelCell Energy is a far different story than Bloom. Unfortunately, the company's fiscal third-quarter results showed a 29% decline in revenue, while its gross loss widened to $24.5 million. This was all largely due to the completion of deliveries in South Korea. Shares fell precipitously on the earnings news.
There's hope for FuelCell, though. The company received its first order for data center applications, and the total backlog grew to $3.6 billion. A stock sale helped raise an additional $300 million for FuelCell, bringing the company's cash position to over $737 million. The Connecticut-based business is looking to expand its manufacturing capacity to 500 megawatts by 2028. Management anticipates positive adjusted EBITDA by the end of fiscal 2027.
The winner depends on the investor
Bloom is the winner of this battle today. The company is financially strong: It is profitable, generates substantial cash, and is a proven entity among AI hyperscalers. There's still room for growth with Bloom, but investors will need to pay a premium for it.
FuelCell, on the other hand, is a much more speculative play, but offers investors a far less expensive entry point. There's a lot of execution risk with FuelCell, but if the company can continue to collect orders for the backlog while meeting stated milestones, the upside potential looks massive. Current investors have been waiting years for the company's turnaround to finally take hold, and it looks as if they'll be waiting a bit longer.

Why will the Power Connect systems boost Bloom's sales?
Bloom's SOFCs can convert natural gas, biogas, propane, and hydrogen into electricity without any combustion. Its systems can also be deployed on-site in less than three months and bypass traditional electrical grids, which can require years to set up new connections.
Those advantages make SOFC systems a popular choice for data centers seeking to quickly expand their cloud and AI infrastructure while maintaining a smaller carbon footprint. Oracle, CoreWeave, Nebius, Equinix, and other data center giants already use its SOFC systems. Brookfield Asset Management (NYSE: BAM), one of the world's largest asset managers, funds Bloom's development and deployment of those SOFC systems via a $25 billion partnership.
Bloom's new Power Connect systems shift the complex wiring and integration work from the field into its own factories. By pre-wiring, pre-connecting, and fully testing those systems before they're delivered, Bloom minimizes the need for local on-site electricians and accelerates system deployments. By reducing its installation times to just one to two months, Bloom will reinforce its early mover advantage and widen its moat against potential challengers.
Bloom isn't the only SOFC maker, but it dominates the market for stationary, multi-megawatt, and utility-scale deployments. The AI market's expansion will generate strong tailwinds for that business as more data centers deploy Bloom's SOFC systems to meet their energy needs.
With a market cap of $79 billion, Bloom's stock isn't cheap at 19 times this year's sales. However, its dominance of the SOFC market, massive backlog, and Power Connect upgrade could all justify that premium valuation and attract more growth-oriented investors.

Now it may have found one. The company makes fuel cell systems that generate electricity. That might not sound like the most exciting business in the artificial intelligence boom, but AI has created a problem that could be almost as important as chips: There isn't enough electricity to power all the data centers companies want to build.

That's where Bloom comes in.
The AI boom has created an electricity problem
Building an AI data center isn't just about buying thousands of powerful chips. Those chips consume enormous amounts of electricity. A hyperscale data center can require hundreds of megawatts of power, and developers increasingly face a frustrating problem: The grid can't always deliver that power quickly enough.
Imagine a technology company spends billions of dollars on land, buildings, servers, and GPUs. The facility is ready to go. Then the utility says: "Come back in a few years. We'll have the electricity by then."
That's not a minor inconvenience. For an AI company racing to deploy computing capacity, waiting years can mean leaving billions of dollars of equipment sitting idle.
This has created a new bottleneck in the data center industry: time to power.
Bloom's business model is surprisingly simple
For starters, it's important to know that Bloom sells power-generating equipment.
Its flagship product, the Bloom Energy Server, uses solid oxide fuel cells -- electrochemical devices -- to convert fuel into electricity. Instead of generating electricity at a distant power plant and sending it through the grid, Bloom can generate electricity at or near the facility that needs it.
Traditionally, electricity generated in power plants must travel through long transmission lines and the grid before reaching data centers. Using Bloom Energy Servers, data centers can generate their own electricity on-site. That distinction matters enormously when electricity is scarce.
While Bloom Energy is not the only company providing on-site electricity generation system -- there are other solutions like gas turbines -- it offers enormously shorter time to deploy. Management estimates that Bloom can ship 3.25 MW worth of fuel cells every 1-2 days, meaning a 1 GW data center can have its power need installed in less than a year. By comparison, several natural gas turbine manufacturers have order books filled out to 2030 and beyond.
To be fair, Bloom doesn't replace the grid. It simply gives customers another way to get power while they wait for the grid to catch up. And so far, customers seem to like the solution.
In the second quarter of 2026, Bloom generated a record $1.1 billion in revenue, up 166% from a year earlier. Product revenue jumped 215%, while the company swung from an operating loss to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) operating income of $182 million. Bloom also raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $3.9 billion to $4.2 billion, implying roughly 100% growth at the midpoint.
Winning big customers and partnerships
Another reason for investors to get excited is that Bloom Energy has secured major wins in recent quarters.
Take its collaboration with Oracle. Bloom Energy will deliver solutions to some of Oracle's data centers, targeting on-site power for an entire data center within 90 days. This provides Oracle with reliable, clean, and cost-efficient power that supports its growth strategy with certainty.
And then there's Brookfield. The asset manager has expanded its financing framework for Bloom-related AI power deployments from $5 billion to $25 billion, helping data center owners to fund their on-site power requirements.
These partnerships lend enormous credibility to Bloom Energy's products and solutions, positioning the company well to scale its business in the years to come.
But there's a catch
Investors shouldn't confuse a huge opportunity with a guaranteed winner.
Bloom still needs to prove that its extraordinary growth can continue. The company must scale manufacturing without sacrificing margins or reliability. On the demand side, customers need to keep placing large orders, even as competitors improve their own technologies.
Moreover, Bloom faces an important question: How much of today's demand represents a temporary response to the AI power crunch, and how much becomes a durable new market?
That's what will determine whether Bloom becomes a long-term growth stock or just a spectacular short-term growth story.
What does it mean for investors?
Bloom Energy spent years trying to convince investors that its fuel cell technology could matter. AI has given the company that opportunity.
The idea here is simple: The grid can't provide electricity fast enough to build AI infrastructure, and customers will come knocking on its door for fast, reliable on-site power systems.
That's why a company once known mainly for fuel cells and hydrogen has suddenly become one of the most interesting stocks in the AI infrastructure race.

Why's Everyone Talking About Bloom Energy Now?

The Federal Reserve’s Sept. 15-16 policy meeting has become unusually consequential for investors as inflation remains above the central bank’s 2% target, the labor market shows signs of renewed strength and geopolitical tensions push crude oil sharply higher.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that nonfarm payroll employment increased by 162,000 in August, well above the 31,000 average monthly gain over the prior 12 months, while the unemployment rate held at 4.1%. The stronger-than-expected employment report has increased expectations for a potential rate hike, with futures markets assigning roughly a 59% probability to a 25-basis-point increase, according to Reuters.
Inflation remains another key constraint. July CPI increased 3.4% year over year, while core CPI rose 2.5%, according to the BLS. The August PPI and CPI reports are scheduled for Sept. 10 and Sept. 11, respectively, immediately before the Fed meeting.
Against this backdrop, JPMorgan Chase JPM, EOG Resources EOG and Bloom Energy BE offer exposure to three distinct forces shaping the market ahead of the Fed meeting — interest rates, elevated crude prices and structural electricity demand from AI infrastructure. Let’s delve deeper.
Oil Shock Adds Another Layer of Inflation Risk
The Fed's policy calculus has become more difficult as the energy market has deteriorated. Brent crude briefly moved above $100 per barrel on Sept. 9 for the first time since July 24 (Reuters), after escalating U.S.-Iran tensions and attacks by Iran-backed Houthis on Saudi energy facilities heightened concerns about supply disruptions.
The oil shock could complicate the inflation outlook by lifting energy costs while simultaneously weighing on household purchasing power and economic growth. The New York Fed's August Survey of Consumer Expectations showed one-year inflation expectations holding at 3.6%, while the perceived probability of higher unemployment over the next year rose to 44.4%, its highest level since April 2020.
Treasury yields are also responding to the changing inflation and policy outlook, with the 10-year yield approaching 4.8%-5%. Higher yields raise corporate borrowing costs and increase the discount rate applied to future earnings, potentially pressuring equity valuations.

JPMorgan Chase - Strong Banking Fundamentals: JPMorgan offers exposure to an elevated-rate environment through its lending and deposit franchise. The bank reported second-quarter revenues of $57.3 billion and net income of $21.2 billion. Average loans increased 10% year over year while average deposits rose 7%. JPMorgan's standard CET1 ratio was 14.1%, providing the bank with a strong capital cushion to absorb potential losses and support its lending activities.
For JPM, a higher-rate environment can support interest income, while continued labor-market resilience supports loan demand and limits an abrupt deterioration in credit conditions.
This Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) company is projected to report 2026 earnings growth of 22.6% on revenue growth of 13.8%.
EOG Resources - Direct Oil-Price Exposure: EOG provides direct exposure to crude oil, the commodity at the center of the latest energy-driven inflation shock. The company generated $2.8 billion in free cash flow in the second quarter of 2026 and returned $1.8 billion to shareholders through its regular dividend and share repurchases. EOG expects 5% oil-production growth and 14% total production growth in 2026.
With Brent above $100, sustained crude prices could strengthen EOG's cash-generation capacity. Its low-cost operating model and diversified oil, natural gas liquids and natural-gas portfolio also provide some insulation against commodity-cycle volatility. The key risk is that prolonged geopolitical disruption could eventually weaken global demand.

Bloom Energy - AI Power Demand Provides a Separate Catalyst: Bloom Energy offers a structural growth driver that is less dependent on the Fed's immediate decision. Second-quarter 2026 revenues jumped 165.5% year over year, while non-GAAP operating income increased to $239.6 million from $28.6 million a year earlier. Bloom Energy raised its 2026 revenue guidance to $3.9-$4.2 billion, representing 100% growth at the midpoint.
The company is benefiting from the growing requirement for rapidly deployable power for AI infrastructure. That fundamental demand provides BE with a company-specific catalyst even if higher Treasury yields continue to put pressure on growth-oriented equities.

SpaceX (NASDAQ:SPCX) has been building its AI business at warp speed. It turns out to be much more challenging to rapidly build reliable data centers than expected. Some of its facilities ran without backup power for months. That recently led the company to make some changes, including reshuffling its leadership team to ensure it can meet a looming deadline for a $920 million-a-month compute deal with Alphabet's (NASDAQ:GOOG)(NASDAQ:GOOGL) Google.
Here's a look at what went wrong and how SpaceX is racing to fix the problem.

Building too fast
Engineering and reliability issues have surfaced at SpaceX data center sites in Tennessee and Mississippi. According to a recent report by The Information, several sites operated without backup cooling and power systems as the company pushed to expand capacity as fast as possible. That publication has previously reported issues at SpaceX data center sites, including that its Macrohand facility in Tennessee had to rely on over 100 mobile chillers and recorded uptime well below the company's 99.9% internal target. Meanwhile, the company used temporary gas turbines at its Mississippi data center longer than expected due to supply chain issues in delaying 41 permanent units. Temporary outages of the power and cooling systems have interrupted AI model training.
The company is investing heavily to expand its AI infrastructure as fast as possible. It spent about $15.8 billion on AI-related capex in the second quarter alone, double the first quarter's total. The $23.6 billion in first-half capital spend is a staggering $20 billion more than it invested in the year-ago period. That heavy investment spending is one of the reasons why SpaceX's AI division is dragging down its profitability ($3.7 billion in losses during the first half of this year). However, that heavy investment has enabled the company to scale its compute capacity from 0.4 gigawatts to 1.4 GW over the past year. That helped power a more than 210% surge in its AI revenue during the second quarter, which topped $2.5 billion. The company aims to increase its compute capacity to 2 GW by year-end, with more growth expected in 2027.
Why is it building so fast?
SpaceX needs to build data centers at warp speed because it's under a looming deadline. Google agreed to pay the company $920 million a month at full capacity for access to around 110,000 Nvidia GPUs. SpaceX must deliver these GPUs by Sept. 30. After a one-month grace period, Google may terminate the agreement, accept fewer GPUs, or reduce its payments in proportion.
Speed is a massive competitive advantage in the AI age. The faster a company can bring AI data center capacity online, the faster it can start earning revenue. It's why data center developers are turning to rapidly deployable solutions, including advanced fuel cells from companies like Bloom Energy (NYSE:BE), to accelerate their development plans. For example, Bloom delivered a fully operational fuel cell system to Oracle in just 55 days, more than a month ahead of schedule. That led Oracle to expand its strategic partnership to deploy up to 2.8 GW to accelerate the build-out of AI infrastructure.
How SpaceX is fixing its problems
SpaceX's reliability issues have forced it to make a couple of notable changes. It delayed plans for new data centers outside its Memphis hub, including proposed projects in Texas. That will give it some time to address its engineering and supply chain issues. The company is also developing a foundry in Texas to manufacture turbine blades and vanes. The lack of these components has caused major constraints in new gas turbine production. By manufacturing these components in-house, Elon Musk believes SpaceX could bring new gas turbines online up to 18 months faster, which he called a "profound game changer."
The company also shook up the management team responsible for its data centers. Several data center executives have left the company over the last few months. SpaceX has been replacing them with executives from its rocket and Starlink operations.
SpaceX doesn't want this opportunity to go to waste
SpaceX sees a galactic opportunity in AI. Roughly 90% of the $28 trillion total addressable market opportunity it identified at its IPO relates to AI. Speed is its competitive edge in capitalizing on this opportunity, which is why it's building data centers as fast as possible. However, customers like Google also require reliability, which is why the company is shaking up its data center leadership team and making other moves to improve reliability and speed. Failing at either speed or reliability poses a meaningful risk that investors should monitor, as it could jeopardize its Google contract and future AI ambitions.

Here's why speed is so important for electric power deployments in 2026 and whether Bloom Energy has built a sustainable business as the leading fuel cell provider for data centers.
Quickly bringing on-site power to data centers
Bloom builds modular electric power systems housing fuel cells. The systems use a fuel source, primarily natural gas, and convert it to electricity, with no particulate pollutants like traditional generators. This can be helpful to data center owners in two ways.
First, Bloom Energy can quickly deliver electricity to a data center when it is first constructed, whereas connecting to the broader power grid may take years. For its recent Oracle deployment, Bloom said that it got the system up and running in just 55 days. This makes Bloom Energy a perfect bridge before a data center complex can connect to the actual power grid.
Second, Bloom's fuel cells can provide backup power in the event of an outage, and data center owners want as close to 100% uptime as possible to ensure there are no disruptions for their end software customers.
There has been a boom in demand for Bloom's products across the myriad data centers being built throughout the U.S. Revenue rose 166% year over year last quarter to a little more than $1 billion, mainly from product revenue sales and significantly beating analyst estimates. Importantly, Bloom says its backlog is growing much faster than revenue and won't be depleted for many years.
Service revenue can drive stable earnings
Investors might think Bloom Energy will have only a temporary growth spurt in this immense data center build-out before falling back to Earth. This underestimates the length of its customer contracts.
When signing deals with data centers, Bloom Energy plans to provide its fuel cells on-site for more than a decade, even if they are only used as backup generators. This can mean service revenue for years that spans energy usage, maintenance, and systems monitoring by Bloom Energy.
Its order backlog at the end of 2025 was $20 billion, with $14 billion of that coming from future services revenue. As long as Bloom Energy remains the primary fuel cell provider for data centers and other sectors, such as large retail outlets, it should maintain stable earnings power, especially if it can increase the number of modular units deployed worldwide.
One risk with Bloom Energy stock today
With soaring demand, Bloom Energy's stock price is up more than 1,000% during the past five years, reaching a market cap of roughly $82 billion as investors grow optimistic about modular power deployment at data centers.
The main risk for Bloom Energy is fairly obvious: that in data center build-out growth slows down significantly. This could occur for many reasons, including a lack of capital for AI infrastructure, innovations in efficiency for AI use cases, or slowing growth in end-customer usage.
Bloom's business wouldn't fall apart given its long-term contracts discussed. However, with the stock currently trading at a lofty price-to-sales ratio (P/S) of 22 for a low-margin energy business, missing Wall Street's expectations could lead to a collapse in its share price.
