Additionally, it operates Youku, an online video platform; Quark, a platform for information search, storage, and consumption; Alibaba Pictures and other content platforms that provide online videos, films, live events, news feeds, literature, music, and others; Amap, a mobile digital map, navigation, and real-time traffic information app; DingTalk, a business efficiency mobile app; and Tmall Genie smart speaker. The company was incorporated in 1999 and is based in Hangzhou, the People's Republic of China.

But, from time to time, these investing experts see eye to eye and make similar moves. And this is exactly what happened in the fourth quarter of last year. Billionaires David Tepper of Appaloosa Management and Michael Platt of Bluecrest Capital Management each sold shares of Nvidia and bought an AI stock that's soared 40,000% since its initial public offering. A look at 13F filings
So, first, a quick note on how we know about these billionaires' moves. On a quarterly basis, managers of more than $100 million in stocks must report their activity to the Securities and Exchange Commission on Form 13F. These forms are available for the public to see, so we may get a glimpse into the latest moves of these investing experts.
Tepper and Platt, like many other billionaires, have been investing in AI stocks; Tepper may be the most aggressive here, though, as his top five holdings, from Alibaba to Meta Platforms, are heavily involved in AI. Platt's biggest stock positions are in finance and energy. Both billionaires made two similar moves in the latest quarter, however...
Tepper, who oversees $6.9 billion, cut his position in Nvidia by 10%, and it now makes up 4.6% of his portfolio. He's held the stock since the first quarter of 2023.
Platt, who manages $3.3 billion, slashed Nvidia by 96%, and the stock now makes up only 0.2% of his portfolio. He's held Nvidia shares since the second quarter of last year.
Tepper increased his position in Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU) by 200%, and it now accounts for 6.2% of his portfolio. He's held the stock since the second quarter of 2023.
Platt opened a new position in Micron, and it represents about 0.1% of his portfolio.
A better growth buy
As always with 13F filings, we don't know the exact reason behind the investors' moves. But these decisions by Tepper and Platt suggest the billionaires believe Micron will deliver growth as the next stages of the AI story unfold -- and potentially represent a better growth buy than Nvidia. It's also important to note that these moves took place a few months ago, and the billionaires' views or strategies may have changed in more recent times.
Still, it's fair to say that Micron, a leader in the AI memory and storage space, could deliver significant earnings growth in the coming quarters. Micron's products may be popular among AI customers during this next stage of AI growth, as AI is more regularly applied to real-world problems. To make this happen, models go through inference or a "thinking" process that allows them to develop answers and solutions. And to do this, they will need a lot of memory.
Micron's record earnings
In the most recent period, Micron offered us a preview of this trend, with revenue reaching record levels, and the company expects more records in the next reporting period. Micron says AI demand is driving this momentum.
So, should you follow billionaires Tepper and Platt and opt for Micron shares over Nvidia? This depends on your investment strategy and current AI holdings. If you've already held Nvidia stock for a while and are looking for another high-potential stock, you might favor buying Micron right now. The stock trades at only 11x forward earnings estimates, compared with 20x or higher for many other AI stocks.
That said, like the billionaires, you might want to hold onto some Nvidia shares as the AI giant is likely to keep delivering significant growth as this AI boom marches on.

Billionaires David Tepper and Michael Platt Sold Nvidia Shares and Bought This AI Stock That's Climbed 40,000% Since its IPO.

Another artificial intelligence (AI) stock has seen earnings slump as it invests in multiple opportunities for growth, but it looks like a good opportunity.
Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU) and Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ: PLTR) are two of the hottest artificial intelligence (AI) stocks. Both companies generate phenomenal revenue and earnings growth as demand for their products soars, thanks to developments in AI. And the market hasn't let that go unnoticed.
Despite the pullback in software stocks in 2026, Palantir's share price is up more than 96% over the past year and 1,990% in the last three years. And Micron shares have continued to climb in 2026, and the stock is now up 349% in the past year. The market now values Palantir at $367 billion and Micron at $452 billion as of this writing, making them two of the biggest companies in the world.

But another AI stock may be underappreciated by the market right now. And despite its market cap closer to $320 billion, I predict it'll be worth more than both Micron and Palantir by next year.
These AI darlings are expensive
There's no denying that both Micron and Palantir are producing excellent financial results right now. The biggest issue facing both companies is valuation.
At first blush, Micron's forward P/E ratio of 11.1 might seem like an incredible bargain. After all, the memory chipmaker is set to see earnings per share quadruple in its current fiscal year. Analysts expect even more growth next year.
But it's important to understand what's driving Micron's results. The sudden spike in earnings stems from growing demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips. As demand grows, Micron and the other memory chipmakers have reallocated capacity to meet it, but they've been slow to build new capacity.
As a result, prices for memory chips have spiked, increasing profits and margins. Price hikes might also artificially inflate demand from buyers front-running additional price increases, further exacerbating the near-term imbalance. Micron's management expects the supply constraints to remain through 2027.
However, as more capacity comes online and the supply-demand equilibrium normalizes, prices will return to normal levels. With the additional expenses of its new capacity, operating expenses will remain high. Margins will compress, and earnings will decline. This is the cyclical nature of the semiconductor business, but it's especially pronounced in the commodity-like memory chip business.
Micron's P/E ratio has dropped into the low single digits at the peak of its earnings cycles. Based on historical data, investors expect the current earnings cycle to last well past 2028, even though management suggests supply will return to balance with demand by the end of next year.
Meanwhile, Palantir's forward P/E ratio of 118 and price-to-sales ratio of 90 are tough to swallow. Even though the company produced revenue growth of 70% last quarter and 56% for the full year, with improving operating margins, that valuation implies the incredible earnings growth will continue for years to come.
Analysts currently expect earnings per share growth to exceed 40% in both 2027 and 2028. But even with those lofty expectations, the stock trades for 60 times 2028 earnings forecasts. At its current valuation, a minor disappointment could send shares lower.
As such, investors shouldn't expect the recent returns they've seen in Micron and Palantir stock to continue, given their current valuations. I predict both will trade around a $400 billion market cap by the end of 2027, if not lower.
The AI stock that will overtake Micron and Palantir
Meanwhile, another AI stock could see its valuation climb well past $400 billion by next year.
Despite a sharp sell-off in shares over the last couple of months, investors may have an incredible opportunity to buy shares of an AI cloud computing giant at an exceptional value. Alibaba (NYSE: BABA) may face competitive pressure and geopolitical risks, but its current valuation more than accounts for them. At a market cap of about $320 billion, it has significant upside from here.
Alibaba has seen its earnings drop significantly as it invests across both its retail operations and its cloud computing business. Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) decreased 78% year over year in its second quarter, which ended in September.
On the retail side, revenue grew a respectable 16% last quarter. However, earnings were pressured by its push into "quick commerce," i.e., delivering items within an hour of a customer's order. The business requires significant scale to operate profitably, and Alibaba is spending heavily to promote it to customers and bring additional vendors and brands on board.
Unit economics improved last quarter, and management says they have continued improving since September. As quick commerce becomes margin-neutral, Alibaba should see a sharp recovery in its retail profits.
Meanwhile, the opportunity in cloud computing remains massive. Revenue accelerated to 34% for the cloud division last quarter, driven by growing adoption of Alibaba's AI products. AI services are growing particularly quickly, up triple digits.
To support that growth, however, Alibaba is investing heavily in AI development and training to keep attracting more customers with its Qwen models. It's also spending heavily on infrastructure to support the growing demand.
Shares of Alibaba trade for just 21 times forward earnings expectations, which is a very attractive valuation for a company expected to grow earnings per share at a solid double-digit pace over the next two years after recovering from its current investment cycle. That price more than accounts for the risk of investing in China, and I expect the multiple to expand over the next couple years, pushing Alibaba's market cap above $400 billion by next year.

Prediction: 1 Artificial Intelligence (AI) Stock That Will Be Worth More Than Micron and Palantir by 2027

Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN), global e-commerce and cloud leader, closed Monday at $213.49, up 0.13%. The stock inched higher as investors weighed Zoox’s robotaxi expansion against UPS’s (NYSE:UPS) strategy shift away from lower-margin Amazon parcels. Investors are also while watching transportation and logistics impacts amidst volatile oil prices.
Trading volume reached 53.5 million shares, nearly 11% above its three-month average of 48.4 million shares. Amazon IPO'd in 1997 and has grown 217,932% since going public.
How the markets moved today
The S&P 500 (SNPINDEX:^GSPC) added 0.83% to finish Monday at 6,796, while the Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX:^IXIC) climbed 1.38% to close at 22,696. Within e-commerce and cloud computing, industry peers also saw muted moves, as Alibaba Group (NYSE:BABA) closed at $132.64 (+1.41%) and Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) ended at $409.41 (+0.11%).
What this means for investors
Markets whiplashed today following the price of oil. As oil soared early, markets were hit hard. Both reversed course as the day progressed. Amazon had its own news today, too.
Its Zoox robotaxi service will be rolling out in Phoenix and Dallas for testing. Amazon will test the self-driving technology using retrofitted SUVs before formally offering commercial service. Late last year, Zoox began operations in Las Vegas and parts of San Francisco.
Investors are also considering what UPS’s strategy moving away from lower margin Amazon business might mean for Amazon’s delivery services. Today’s oil price action highlighted those potential concerns with the company’s future margins.

Stock Market Today, March 9: Amazon Edges Higher on Zoox Robotaxi Expansion

Alibaba Group BABA faces a challenging road ahead despite posting headline numbers that appear encouraging on the surface. The company's second quarter of fiscal 2026, which ended Sept. 30, 2025, revealed a widening gap between revenue momentum and the financial health that investors actually care about — and fresh regulatory intervention in February 2026 has done little to ease concerns.
Cloud Intelligence Group revenues rose 34% year over year to RMB 39.8 billion, a figure management has proudly spotlighted. Yet the celebration stops at the revenue line. GAAP net income fell 53%, operating cash flow declined by RMB 21.3 billion, and free cash flow turned to a net outflow of RMB 21.8 billion — a stark reversal from the prior year's RMB 13.7 billion inflow. The cloud segment's growth, while impressive in absolute terms, is being purchased at an increasingly steep price.
The company has deployed approximately RMB 120 billion in capital expenditure over the past four quarters to fund AI and cloud infrastructure, leaving profitability deeply compressed. Non-GAAP diluted earnings per ADS collapsed 71% to RMB 4.36. With no revenue guidance issued for the year, visibility into when this investment cycle will turn accretive remains elusive.
Compounding investor anxiety, regulatory headwinds resurfaced just months later. On Feb. 13, 2026, China's State Administration for Market Regulation summoned Alibaba and other major platforms, instructing them to eliminate all forms of "involution-style competition" — a broad directive targeting aggressive promotional tactics that have been central to Alibaba's quick commerce growth strategy. The meeting marked the third and most sweeping regulatory intervention on fair competition over the past year, broadening scrutiny from food-delivery services to the wider e-commerce and social-media sectors.
For Alibaba stock, cloud revenue growth is real, but sustainability is unproven when backed by negative free cash flow. Meanwhile, Beijing's renewed willingness to step in and constrain competitive behavior limits management's operational flexibility precisely when Alibaba needs room to maneuver. Until the company can demonstrate that its AI investments translate into durable, profitable cloud growth without triggering further regulatory friction, the stock's upside narrative remains more aspirational than assured.
How Microsoft and Amazon Stack Up on Cloud Growth
Western cloud rivals present a contrasting picture, based on each company's most recently reported quarter. Microsoft MSFT reported Azure revenue growth of 39% for its second quarter of fiscal 2026, while Microsoft Cloud surpassed $50 billion in quarterly revenues for the first time, growing 26% year over year. Crucially, Microsoft achieved this alongside expanding operating income. Amazon AMZN, meanwhile, delivered its own milestone: Amazon Web Services (“AWS”) generated $35.58 billion in revenues in fourth-quarter 2025, reflecting 24% growth — the fastest pace in 13 quarters. Amazon's AWS operating margin held at 35%, underscoring profitability discipline. Unlike Alibaba, both Microsoft and Amazon are scaling cloud revenues while largely preserving financial health, setting a higher competitive benchmark.

BABA shares have lost 7.7% in the past six-month period, underperforming the Zacks Retail-Wholesale sector’s decline of 4.1%, respectively.

Can Alibaba Stock Overcome Weak Cloud Growth and Regulatory Pressure?

It might seem like a risky time to buy more stocks. The S&P 500 looks historically expensive at nearly 30 times earnings, and the intensifying geopolitical conflicts could drive investors from stocks toward more conservative investments.
Yet if you can look past those near-term headwinds and plan to hold your stocks for at least a few more years, there are still plenty of bargains that deserve your attention. I believe two of those stocks -- Alibaba (NYSE: BABA) and Intuitive Machines (NASDAQ: LUNR) -- could easily turn a modest $1,000 investment into a lot more money.

Alibaba
Alibaba, China's largest e-commerce and cloud infrastructure company, still trades more than 50% below its all-time high from October 2020. Three significant challenges caused that decline.
First, China's antitrust regulators fined Alibaba a record amount in 2021. They barred its Chinese marketplaces (Taobao and Tmall) from locking merchants into exclusive deals, using aggressive loss-leading promotions, and expanding through unapproved investments. Those restrictions eroded its defenses against its competitors. Second, the pandemic curbed consumer spending and drove its enterprise customers to rein in their cloud spending. Lastly, the trade conflicts between the U.S. and China drove many U.S. investors away from Chinese equities.
Yet Alibaba isn't down for the count. It's expanding its overseas marketplaces (including Lazada in Southeast Asia, Trendyol in Turkey, Daraz in South Asia, and AliExpress for cross-border purchases), as well as its Cainiao logistics business, to offset slower e-commerce sales in China. It's also stabilizing Taobao and Tmall with AI-driven recommendations, upgraded merchant tools, and accelerated deliveries across its expanding logistics network. The AI market's rapid growth is also stirring up strong tailwinds for its cloud business, which hosts its Qwen large language model (LLM) for developing generative AI applications.
From fiscal 2025 (which ended last March) to fiscal 2028, analysts expect Alibaba's revenue and EPS to grow at CAGRs of 8% and 10%, respectively. Its high-growth days might be over, but it still looks like a bargain at 18 times next year's earnings.
Intuitive Machines
Intuitive Machines manufactures lunar landers and exploration vehicles. It's sent two of its Nova-C landers to the moon for NASA so far: IM-1 (Odysseus) in February 2024, and IM-2 (Athena) in March 2025. Odysseus marked NASA's first moon landing since 1972.
Intuitive plans to launch its third lunar mission, IM-3, as the next step in that Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) contract with NASA later this year. It also holds additional lunar terrain vehicle (LTV) contracts, an exclusive near-space network services (NSNS) agreement, a lunar communications contract, and a lunar logistics solutions contract with NASA.
Over the long term, Intuitive plans to expand into a diversified "one-stop shop" for space transportation services. It recently acquired Lanteris Space Systems, a developer of satellite and space defense systems, to accelerate that transformation, increase its exposure to the defense sector, and gradually reduce its dependence on NASA's lunar missions.
From 2025 to 2027, analysts expect Inituitive Machines' revenue to rise nearly fivefold. They also expect it to turn profitable in 2026 and grow its net income more than fivefold in 2027. Those are explosive growth rates for a stock trading at 2 times this year's sales.
Intuitive's valuations are likely being compressed by three issues. First, both IM-1 and IM-2 landers tipped over during landing, limiting the data they returned to Earth. If IM-3 suffers the same fate, NASA might reconsider using its landers for future missions. Second, reduced federal spending could reduce NASA's contract awards. Lastly, it faces a growing number of competitors. But if it overcomes those challenges, its stock could head a lot higher.

Still, the stellar results didn't calm deeper investor concerns about the sustainability of the AI boom, concentration risks, and future growth, although Nvidia impressively surpassed Wall Street’s expectations.
AI Sustainability Concerns
Notably, a recurring theme across analyst commentary is skepticism about how long hyperscalers can keep spending tens of billions on AI infrastructure.
Others question whether AI monetization is happening fast enough to justify the spending, and the shift in sentiment is weighing on Nvidia because it’s the primary beneficiary of that spending.
Furthermore, 90% of Nvidia’s revenue now comes from data centers, and much of that is just from five major cloud providers, which include Amazon, Alphabet, Microsoft, Oracle and Alibaba. That level of dependency raises questions about what happens if even one of those customers slows orders.
Investors are also increasingly concerned about competition from AMD, and that hyperscalers are working on their own in-house AI accelerators, with an emphasis on Alphabet and Amazon building out custom AI chips, with others likely to eventually follow suit.
In other words, even if Nvidia remains dominant, the fear is that margins or growth rates could eventually compress.
Nvidia’s Reassuring Revenue Guidance
While Nvidia didn’t provide CapEx or EPS guidance, which is consistent with its long-standing practice of typically only providing revenue guidance, its top-line forecast reassuringly beat Wall Street’s expectations.
For its current fiscal 2027, Nvidia issued Q1 revenue guidance of $78B plus or minus 2%, which came in pleasantly above analysts’ expectations of about $72.8B and would equate to at least 73% YoY growth and 12% sequentially.
Tracking the Trend of EPS Revisions
Following Nvidia’s stellar Q4 results and positive guidance, EPS estimates for its FY27 and FY28 have trended over 3% higher in the last week.
In the last 90 days, these revisions have risen roughly 7% respectively. Nvidia’s annual earnings are now expected to leap 60% in FY27 and are projected to increase another 20% in FY28 to $9.13 per share.
More astonishing, the year-ago EPS estimates picture shows that Nvidia’s FY27 and FY28 revisions have climbed over 40%.
Nvidia’s Compelling P/E Valuation
Further encouraging is that Nvidia is trading near its cheapest forward P/E valuation in a decade, offering a noticeable discount to its median of 45X during this period, and well below highs of 118X.
