Vodafone Group Plc

(RTTNews) - Vodafone Group Plc on Wednesday said it has reached a final settlement with Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) under the Contingent Liability Adjustment Mechanism (CLAM), closing all remaining material disputes between the two companies.
The CLAM, established during the 2017 merger of Vodafone India and Idea Cellular, covered pre-merger legal, regulatory and tax liabilities. Vodafone's exposure under the mechanism was originally capped at 83.69 billion Indian rupees and later reduced to 63.94 billion Indian rupees.
Under the agreement, Vodafone will settle the CLAM through a 219 million euros cash payment and by setting aside 3.28 billion Vi shares, equivalent to a 3.03% stake.
However, Vodafone said the settlement results in no net cash outflow, as Vi will offset the 219 million euros against outstanding Vodafone Group service charges. Vodafone currently holds a 16.07% stake in Vi.

Vodafone Reaches Agreement With Vi On Ahead Of CLAM Expiry

(RTTNews) - Monday, Spirent Communications, a part of Keysight Technologies, Inc. (KEYS), announced that Vodafone Group Public Limited Company (VOD) has selected it as a partner to automate and streamline the integration of new 5G software across the latter's pan-European core voice mobile networks.
With this partnership, Vodafone expects to enhance its core voice network and deliver services to customers more quickly while maintaining quality and addressing any bugs beforehand.
Dougie Rankin, Vice President, International Sales, Spirent, commented, "By working with Spirent to fully automate its testing capabilities, Vodafone is now able to accelerate delivery of new network products, version upgrades and features to its customers, while ensuring strict compliance and benefitting from efficiency gains."
Currently, KEYS is trading at $209.05, up 0.11 percent on the New York Stock Exchange.

Satellite innovation, heavy upfront losses
SpaceX and its satellite internet service Starlink have changed the game, as the service can provide fast internet anywhere globally. The only problem for customers is the need to lug around a satellite terminal to get the service to work.
AST SpaceMobile believes it can solve the terminal issue, building a satellite internet constellation that can connect smartphones directly to the internet. It is doing so with gigantic satellite arrays. A new version set to launch this month is 2,400 square feet, for reference. By the end of 2026, AST SpaceMobile expects to have 45-60 satellites launched, with internet connectivity ready to go for its telecommunications partners like Verizon and Vodafone.
Today, the company has just five satellites in orbit, meaning there is much progress left to manufacture these satellites and launch them. With that being the case, it is not surprising that AST SpaceMobile stock gave back a lot of its recent gains -- the stock price has gone from under $5 in 2024 to over $70 today -- in a month where the broad stock market took a tumble.
Time to buy AST SpaceMobile stock?
In just a few short trading days in December, AST SpaceMobile has recovered a lot of its November losses. The stock is getting close to hitting its all-time high of $80 as of this writing on December 6th, 2025.
Does that mean it is time to hop back in and buy AST SpaceMobile stock? When looking at this business, it has a lot of future promise, as long as the satellite constellation and underlying technology work. With large contracts signed with smartphone carriers like Verizon, the company may be able to quickly gain millions of customers looking for direct-to-device internet. Sprinkle in some contracts with the U.S. government, and this could be a business that quickly grows to $1 billion in annual revenue.
Today, the stock has a market cap of $27 billion, which is still expensive if the company reaches these revenue milestones. It has diluted shareholders by raising money to cover its upfront spending through common stock offerings, and when combined with a rising share price, the market cap has gone into the stratosphere.
Avoid buying AST SpaceMobile stock today. The stock looks overvalued even if its business plan is a total success.

AST was trading in penny-stock range for much of its history, meaning it's made some early investors rich. But past performance doesn't guarantee future returns on the stock market.
Still, investors are likely wondering if the stock can keep up its dramatic bull run. On that note, let's take a look at two things investors should know about the stock.
AST SpaceMobile's track record is thin
AST shares have skyrocketed, but the gains are almost entirely based on speculation and its own forecasts.
AST is just starting to commercialize its business and recorded $14.7 million in the third quarter of 2025, primarily driven by hitting U.S. government milestones, which was more than triple what it made in all of 2024.
The company has built significant momentum, signing more than $1 billion in revenue commitments with partners like Verizon, Vodafone, and Saudi Arabia's stc Group. The company has launched its first five BlueBird satellites and expects to launch its BlueBird 6 in December.
While the business is clearly making progress, the stock has already earned a market cap of $20 billion, even though the company just started to commercialize its business. In other words, high expectations are priced into the stock, and it will likely be years before the stock's valuation reaches a reasonable level and before the company turns a profit.
Compay guidance called for $50 million to $75 million in second-half revenue, implying about $50 million in revenue in the fourth quarter. The company is aiming to have 45 to 60 satellites in orbit by the end of 2026, a significant ramp in operations. In other words, 2026 will be a major test for the stock.
The telecom industry has been a dud recently
AST's customer base is made up primarily of telecoms, and investors may want to keep valuations in perspective as the industry has been notorious for slow growth, low valuations, and large debt burdens.
AST's market cap has pulled back a bit, but Verizon, one of the telecom giants it is selling to, has a market cap of $172 billion and a price-to-earnings ratio of less than 9.
AST, of course, is growing much faster than telecom operators like Verizon, but investors should be mindful that telecom and broadband are ultimately a mature industry, and only a fraction of their revenue is going to go to satellite providers like AST.
In other words, the upside potential to AST may be more limited than investors seem to think. While there is room for the valuation to increase beyond $20 billion, there is a ceiling unless the company expands beyond broadband.

2 Things Every AST SpaceMobile Investor Needs to Know

(RTTNews) - Telecom major Vodafone Group Plc (VOD.L, VOD) reported Tuesday slightly higher pre-tax profit in its first half of fiscal 2026, while attributable profit declined from last year, despite higher revenues.
Further, for the year 2026, the company now expects to deliver the upper end of adjusted EBITDAaL view of 11.3 billion euros to 11.6 billion euros.
Vodafone added that it commenced a programme to repurchase its ordinary share capital up to a maximum consideration of 500 million euros.
The Board has announced an interim dividend per share of 2.25 eurocents, same as last year. The record date is November 21 and the dividend is payable on February 5, 2026.
For fiscal 2026, the company expects to grow the full year dividend per share by 2.5 percent.
Margherita Della Valle, Group Chief Executive, said, "In the second quarter we saw service revenue accelerating, with good performances in the UK, Türkiye and Africa, and a return to top-line growth in Germany. Based on our stronger performance, we are now expecting to deliver at the upper end of our guidance range for both profit and cash flow, and as our anticipated multi-year growth trajectory is now under way, we are introducing a new progressive dividend policy, with an expected increase of 2.5 percent for this financial year."
In the first half, profit before taxation was 2.113 billion euros, slightly higher than 2.105 billion euros last year.
Profit attributable to owners of the parent fell to 829 million euros from 1.064 billion euros a year ago. Basic earnings per share were 3.38 cents, compared to 3.98 cents a year ago.
Adjusted basic earnings per share were 6.92 cents, compared to last year's 4.84 cents.
Operating profit fell 9.2 percent year-over-year to 2.162 billion euros, with Adjusted EBITDAaL growth offset by higher depreciation and amortisation following the consolidation of Three UK, and lower other income.
Adjusted EBITDAaL grew 5.9 percent to 5.728 billion euros from 5.411 billion euros a year ago. Adjusted EBITDAaL increased 6.8 percent on an organic basis.
Total revenue increased 7.3 percent to 19.61 billion euros from prior year's 18.28 billion euros, due to strong service revenue growth and the consolidation of Three UK, partially offset by adverse foreign exchange movements.

(RTTNews) - Ericsson (ERIC) and Vodafone (VOD, VOD.L) have announced a five-year strategic partnership to modernize Vodafone's network footprint using Ericsson's programmable network solutions across several key markets. Ericsson will be Vodafone's sole RAN vendor in Ireland, Netherlands, and Portugal, as well as a major vendor in Germany, Romania, and Egypt.
Vodafone will deploy Ericsson's state-of-the-art and Open RAN-compatible Massive MIMO radios and RAN Compute solutions, as well as 5G Advanced RAN software capabilities across their networks in these markets. Prediction: AST SpaceMobile Stock Could Double by 2026

(RTTNews) - Vodafone Romania S.A. and Digi Romania S.A. have reached binding agreements with Hellenic Telecommunications Organization S.A. or "OTE" to acquire separate parts of OTE's subsidiary, Telekom Romania Mobile Communications S.A.
Vodafone will acquire Telekom Romania Mobile Communications S.A., including its post-paid customer base, for 30 million euros, subject to standard closing adjustments. Meanwhile, Digi has agreed to acquire the pre-paid customer business. As part of the transaction, both companies will also gain access to additional spectrum and tower assets.
Completion of the transaction is expected to take place in early October 2025.
In a separate press release, Vodafone Group announced that it appointed Ruth McGill as Chief HR Officer and a member of the Group Executive Committee effective 1 January 2026. Ruth will initially join Vodafone as Chief HR Officer Designate on 1 November 2025. She will succeed Leanne Wood who, as announced on 10 September 2025, will step down to pursue a portfolio career.
Ruth has more than 25 years' experience in human resources and change management. Ruth joins Vodafone from ING, including the last five years as Chief HR Officer. Prior to ING, she worked in a range of senior HR positions at Standard Chartered Bank, over a 10-year period. Ruth spent her earlier career in HR positions at Norton Healthcare and GSK.

The anti-Starlink play
While SpaceX dominates headlines with Starlink, AST SpaceMobile is building something potentially more disruptive: satellites that connect directly to unmodified smartphones. No special equipment, no new devices -- just your regular phone connecting to space when terrestrial towers can't reach you. Partners include AT&T, Verizon, Alphabet's Google, and Vodafone, covering billions of potential subscribers through carrier relationships.
The numbers are turning real. AST projects $50 million to $75 million in revenue for the second half of 2025 from government and commercial sources. Six satellites orbit now, with 45 to 60 fully funded birds planned by 2026. The stock has responded accordingly, up 135% year to date.
Wall Street maintains a "buy" consensus with a $49 average 12-month target, barely above current levels. But here's what skeptics miss: AST isn't competing with Starlink. Starlink typically requires dedicated hardware and about $120 monthly for residential service. AST makes your existing phone work everywhere, partnering with carriers rather than competing against them. Different market, different economics.
The risks are real: massive capital requirements, launch risks, regulatory hurdles across jurisdictions. Shares, accordingly, have whipsawed between $20 and $50 this year alone. But for investors who believe ubiquitous connectivity is inevitable, AST offers the most direct play on connecting 2.5 billion unconnected people globally.
A quantum's pure play
Quantum computing promises to solve problems classical computers can't touch -- drug discovery, materials science, cryptography, financial modeling. While IBM, Alphabet, and Microsoft run substantial quantum programs within diversified portfolios, Rigetti lives it as a pure-play hardware company.
The company recently announced what it calls the industry's largest demonstrated multichip quantum system using its chiplet-based architecture, a technical milestone that matters more than quarterly earnings at this stage. Second-quarter numbers were weak: Revenue fell 42% year over year to $1.8 million, and the adjusted loss was $0.13 per share. Yet Quanta Computer invested $35 million, providing validation from a Tier-1 manufacturer.
The bear case writes itself: Commercial quantum computing remains years away, IBM and Alphabet have deeper pockets, and cash burn continues with no clear path to profitability. Revenue could stay minimal while development costs climb. That's exactly why the opportunity exists -- markets hate uncertainty, creating asymmetric upside for those betting on 2030, not 2025.
Two moonshots worth buying and holding
Neither AST nor Rigetti belongs in conservative portfolios. These are conviction plays on transformative technologies that could reshape industries or flame out spectacularly.
AST offers nearer-term catalysts with satellite deployments and targeted intermittent U.S. service in late 2025, alongside a ramp-up in government and commercial revenue. Rigetti requires patience, with payoff potentially years away as quantum computing matures. AST around $48 could be cheap if it captures even 1% of the global mobile market. Rigetti in the mid-teens could be a bargain if quantum delivers on its promise later in the decade.
The key is position sizing -- these are portfolio accelerators, not core holdings. For those embracing the risk, both represent genuine innovation at valuations that don't yet price in success. In a market that often overpays for certainty, mispriced innovation can be rare. AST and Rigetti, in turn, could be stellar bargains for investors willing to take the long view.
