The company operates approximately 590 daily flights on routes connecting 43 cities in Mexico, 22 cities in the United States, 4 cities in Central America, and 2 cities in South America. As of December 31, 2022, it leased 116 aircrafts and 23 spare engines. The company also offers merchandising, travel agency, and loyalty program, as well as specialized and aeronautical technical services. Joining the list, Delta has announced the suspension of its direct service between New York-JFK and Tel Aviv until at least Aug. 31, 2025, due to the deteriorating security situation in Israel and continues to monitor the region for any changes. Affected customers have been offered refunds or the option to rebook on alternate dates or routes. United Airlines, too, has suspended its Tel Aviv flights through July 31.
4. Volaris reported a 9% year-over-year increase in consolidated capacity (measured in available seat miles). The load factor (% of seats filled by passengers) decreased 4.3 percentage points to 81.8% on a consolidated basis. The metric fell as the increase in consolidated traffic (3.5%) was less than the increase in consolidated capacity. During May, Volaris transported 2.5 million passengers, up 4.2% year over year.
5. Driven by high passenger volumes, revenue passenger miles (a measure of traffic) improved on a year-over-year basis in May at Copa Holdings. To match the demand swell, CPA is increasing its capacity. In May, available seat miles (a measure of capacity) increased 7% year over year. Revenue passenger miles increased 7.5% year over year. Since traffic growth outpaced capacity expansion, the load factor rose to 87.6% from 87.3% in May 2024.

In the past week, Allegiant Travel Company ALGT and Copa Holdings CPA reported better-than-expected earnings as well as revenues for first-quarter 2025 despite the tariff-induced uncertainty. Delta Air Lines DAL was also in the news following its decision to fly nonstop to Copenhagen and Stockholm.
Ryanair Holdings RYAAY reported impressive traffic numbers for April, driven by upbeat air-travel demand. Mexican carrier Controladora Vuela Compañía de Aviación VLRS or Volaris reported a year-over-year increase in revenue passenger miles (RPMs: a measure of air traffic) for April.

1. Copa Holdings' first-quarter 2025 earnings per share of $4.28 surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $3.77 and improved 2.2% year over year. Revenues of $899.2 million beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $889.5 million and inched up 0.6% year over year due to an 8.7% increase in onboard passengers.
Passenger revenues (which contributed 95.6% to the top line) remained flat year over year at $859 million. Despite the increase in onboard passengers, a 9.1% decrease in yield hurt passenger revenues. CPA’s management expects consolidated capacity to grow 7-8% year over year.
2. Allegiant Travel reported first-quarter 2025 earnings per share (excluding 8 cents from non-recurring items) of $1.81, which surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.54. The company reported earnings of 57 cents per share in the year-ago quarter.
Operating revenues of $699.1 million surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $690.3 million and improved 6.5% on a year-over-year basis. For the second quarter of 2025, ASM (for scheduled service) is expected to increase 15.5% on a year-over-year basis.

3. Ryanair reported solid traffic numbers for April 2025, driven by upbeat air travel demand. The number of passengers transported on Ryanair flights was 18.3 million in April 2025, reflecting a 6% year-over-year increase. The April load factor (percentage of seats filled by passengers) of 93% was higher than the year-ago reading of 92%, reflecting consistent passenger demand for the airline's services.
4. This summer, Delta plans to fly nonstop to Copenhagen and Stockholm, as well as to more than 35 destinations across Scandinavia, through its partnership with Scandinavian Airlines System ("SAS"), the flag carrier of Denmark, Norway and Sweden. We remind investors that DAL and SAS inked a codeshare agreement last year to improve connectivity between North America and Scandinavia.
Under the expansion-oriented move, DAL will operate non-stop flights (thrice a week) on the Minneapolis–St. Paul to Copenhagen route from May 22. Additionally, a direct summer service from New York–JFK to Copenhagen and JFK to Stockholm will start on April 14. These flights will operate daily. Moreover, out of the 35 additional destinations, six are in Denmark, 14 are in Norway and 15 are in Sweden.
5. For April, Volaris reported a 16.9% year-over-year increase in consolidated capacity (measured in available seat miles). The load factor (% of seats filled by passengers) decreased 3.1 percentage points to 81.6% on a consolidated basis. The metric fell as the increase in consolidated traffic (12.7%) was less than the increase in consolidated capacity. During the month, Volaris transported 2.6 million passengers, up 14.8% year over year.

Pre-Market Earnings Report for April 28, 2025 : ROP, DPZ, RVTY, ARLP, BKU, OPRA, INMD, VLRS, BMRC, PERF, PROV

On April 9, Delta Air Lines DAL reported better-than-expected revenues and earnings per share for the first quarter of 2025 despite the tariff-induced uncertainty. Given the current uncertain scenario, DAL decided against reaffirming its 2025 financial guidance.
JetBlue Airways JBLU was also in the news due to its decision to add two nonstop routes to expand its service at Fort Lauderdale. Mexican carrier Controladora Vuela Compañía de Aviación VLRS or Volaris reported a year-over-year increase in revenue passenger miles (RPMs: a measure of air traffic) for March.
Driven by the increase in international operations, Latin American carrier LATAM Airlines Group LTM reported a year-over-year increase in revenue passenger-kilometers (RPK: a measure of air traffic) for March. Alaska Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of Alaska Air Group ALK, was also in the news due to its decision to invest in Loft Dynamics, a company specializing in virtual flight training. Through this move, Alaska Air aims to revolutionize pilot training.

1. Delta reported first-quarter 2025 earnings (excluding 9 cents from non-recurring items) of 46 cents per share, which surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 40 cents. Earnings increased 2.2% on a year-over-year basis due to low fuel costs. Revenues in the March-end quarter were $14.04 billion, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $13.81 billion and increasing 2.1% on a year-over-year basis. Adjusted operating revenues (excluding third-party refinery sales) increased 3.3% year over year to $13 billion.
Delta expects second-quarter 2025 adjusted earnings per share in the $1.7-$2.3 range. The adjusted operating margin is expected in the 11-14% band. Revenues on an adjusted basis are expected to be down 2% to up 2% year over year.

2. In response to customer demand, JetBlue has decided to resume service between Fort Lauderdale and Philadelphia and between Fort Lauderdale and Guayaquil, Ecuador, beginning this summer. Flights connecting Fort Lauderdale and Philadelphia will operate twice daily from July 3. Meanwhile, flights between Fort Lauderdale and Guayaquil will operate once a day from July 17. Flights on both routes will be operated by JetBlue’s Airbus A320 aircraft, equipped with all modern facilities.
These new routes build on JetBlue’s continued investment in South Florida, where the low-cost airline has increased departures by 6% year over year. The resumption of the two routes highlights JetBlue’s commitment to meeting customer demand and seizing strategic opportunities. These routes were paused during a broader network optimization.
3. For March, Volaris reported a 10.9% year-over-year increase in consolidated capacity (measured in available seat miles). The load factor (% of seats filled by passengers) decreased 2.4 percentage points to 84.4% on a consolidated basis. The metric fell as the increase in consolidated traffic (7.8%) was less than the increase in consolidated capacity. During the month, Volaris transported 2.6 million passengers, up 12.3% year over year.
On the domestic front, revenue per mile (RPM) and available seat miles (ASMs) increased 9.9% and 13.3%, respectively, from March 2024 levels. The domestic load factor in March was 89.4%, a decrease of 2.8 percentage points from year-ago levels. In international markets, RPM increased 4.6% year over year, while ASM rose 7.6% year over year.
4. For March, LATAM Airlines reported a 7.2% year-over-year increase in consolidated capacity, measured in available seat kilometers. LTM’s revenue passenger kilometers increased 5.6% year over year despite the impact of the carnival holidays on Brazil’s domestic segment. The carnival took place in the month of March in 2025, whereas it was celebrated in February in 2024, affecting year-over-year comparability. Although traffic improved on a year-over-year basis, it failed to outpace capacity expansion. As a result, the load factor (percentage of seats filled by passengers) fell to 81.9% from 83.9% a year ago.
5. In a bid to revolutionize pilot training by leveraging extended reality technology, Alaska Air took a stake in Loft Dynamics, which is headquartered in Zürich, Switzerland, with an office in Santa Monica, CA. Through this investment, made through Alaska Star Ventures, ALK intends to develop the first hyper-realistic, full-motion Boeing 737 virtual reality simulator.

Airline Stock Roundup: DAL's Q1 Earnings Report & JBLU, VLRS in Focus

(RTTNews) - Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion, S.A.B. de C.V. (VLRS) or Volaris, a Mexican ultra-low-cost carrier, on Monday reported a steep decline in net profit for the fourth quarter, amidst a drop in revenue. The results reflected depreciation of the Mexican peso against the U.S. dollar and a reduction in ASMs.
Commenting on the results, Enrique Beltranena, CEO of Volaris, said, "2024 was a remarkable year for Volaris. Despite continuous adversity from GTF engine inspections and aircraft groundings, we generated some of our best top and bottom-line results. Looking ahead, we anticipate the ongoing engine inspections to affect a significant portion of our fleet not only in 2025, but also in 2026 and 2027."
For the three-month period to December 31, 2024, the company reported a net income of $46 million, or $0.04 per share, a plunge from $112 million, or $0.10 per share, recorded for the same period last year.
Earnings per ADS slipped to $0.39 from $0.96 per ADS in the previous year. EBIT stood at $117 million, compared with the previous year's $164 million a year ago.
Revenue passenger miles, commonly known as traffic, are 7.796 billion, down from last year's 8.288 billion. The load factor also slipped to 87.3 percent from the previous year's 88.1 percent.
Available seat miles or ASM was 8.930 billion, lower than 9.402 billion in 2023. Booked passengers declined to 7.848 million, compared with 8.247 million in 2023. Total operating revenue per ASM was 9.35 cents, lower than 9.56 cents a year ago.
Revenue was $835 million, down from the previous year's $899 million.
Looking ahead, for the first quarter, the airline expects ASM growth of around 7 percent, compared with -13.4 percent registered for the first quarter of 2024.
The company projects EBITDAR margin to be 28 percent to 29 percent, compared with 30.6 percent, registered for the same period last year.
For the full year, VLRS anticipates ASM growth of around 13 percent, compared with -12.6 percent of 2024. Annual EBITDAR margin is expected to be 34 percent-36 percent, lower than the previous year's 36.3 percent.
VLRS projects full-year capital expenditure to be around $250 million, lower than $350 million in 2024.

In a bid to reduce costs, Southwest Airlines LUV announced that it will lay off roughly 1,750 employees in its leadership ranks. This will be the first job cut in the low-cost carrier’s history. On a somber note, a Delta Air Lines DAL flight crashed in Toronto. At least 18 people were injured due to the mishap. Meanwhile, Mexican carrier Controladora Vuela Compañía de Aviación or Volaris VLRS reported a year-over-year increase in revenue passenger miles (RPMs: a measure of air traffic) for the month of January.

2. Southwest Airlines has announced plans to lay off a section of its workforce. The move is part of the company’s transformational plan to simplify its organizational structure, stay competitive, reduce operating costs and improve efficiency. LUV’s lay-off plans are targeted toward corporate overhead and leadership positions. LUV aims to cut 15% of its corporate positions (which includes senior leadership and directors) by the end of the second quarter of 2025. LUV expects the layoffs to result in cost savings. The company estimates to save about $210 million this year and roughly $300 million in 2026.
3. On Feb. 17, 2025, a Delta plane crash-landed in Toronto. Fortunately, all 80 people on board survived. The incident occurred amid windy conditions following a snowstorm at Toronto Pearson International Airport. The plane flipped upside down during landing. The ill-fated flight took off from Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport.
4. In January, Volaris reported a 4.7% year-over-year increase in consolidated capacity (measured in available seat miles). The load factor (% of seats filled by passengers) decreased 1.5 percentage points to 86.6%. The load factor fell as the increase in consolidated traffic (2.9%) was less than the increase in consolidated capacity. Volaris expects total capacity to increase in the 13-15% band in 2025 from 2024 levels.

Robinhood’s Growth and Expansion Outlook
Robinhood went public in the summer of 2021 after the Covid pandemic helped energize a new generation of investors (young and old) to join the stock market.
The company posted 90% revenue growth in 2021 soaring from $958 million to $1.82 billion. HOOD faced a down year in 2022 as the market tumbled. But it returned to impressive growth in 2023 to top its FY22 total.
Flash forward to the third-quarter of 2024 and Robinhood grew its revenue by 36% YoY, driven by a 72% increase in “transaction-based revenues” such as options trading. Robinhood increased its total investment accounts by 1.5 million YoY to 25.1 million, with average revenue per user 31% higher.
Over the past twelve months ending in Q3 FY24, Robinhood’s net deposits jumped 45% (+$39.0 billion). HOOD's total “Assets Under Custody” climbed 76% YoY in Q3 to $152.2 billion, “driven by continued net deposits and higher equity and cryptocurrency valuations.”
Robinhood continues to make strides to win over active traders, with monthly active users up 7% to 11.0 million. Equity notional trading volumes jumped 65%, with options contracts traded up 47%, and crypto notional trading volumes 112% higher.
HOOD is projected to swing from an adjusted loss of -$0.61 a share last year to +$0.97 a share in 2024. Robinhood is expected to post 20% higher earnings in 2025.
Robinhood’s earnings outlook has surged over the last year, including roughly 20% jumps for FY24 and FY25 in the last few months. The stock trading company’s 2025 earnings outlook has climbed 372% in the last year.
Robinhood’s Most Accurate EPS estimates came in above consensus for Q4, FY24, and FY25. HOOD’s upward earnings revisions earn the stock a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), and it crushed our bottom-line estimate in three out of the past four quarters.
Meanwhile, Robinhood is projected to grow its revenue by 54% in FY24 and 22% in FY25 to hit $3.52 billion vs. $1.9 billion in 2023.
Is This Soaring Stock Ready for a Breakout?
Robinhood stock surged 50% to start 2025, hitting new 52-week highs on Monday heading into its Q4 earnings release due out after the closing bell on Wednesday, February 12.
Robinhood’s recent run is part of a 370% surge during the last 12 months and 460% in the past two years to blow away its Financial-Investment Bank industry that ranks in the top 1% of over 250 Zacks industries.
HOOD stock is attempting to break out above its 2021 highs (outside of a huge short-term spike).
Robinhood might face selling pressure (even if it posts strong guidance on Wednesday) in the near-term if investors decide to take profits following its stellar performance.
Despite its surge to 52-week highs, Robinhood’s valuation is improving. HOOD trades at a 45% discount to its 12-month highs at 47.1X forward 12-month earnings.
Robinhood’s PEG ratio, which factors in its EPS growth outlook, sits at 0.75 vs. its top-ranked industry’s 0.93 and the Tech sector’s 1.74.
Any pullback to Robinhood’s 21-day (roughly $49.90 a share) or 50-day ($43.87) might offer investors and traders great buying opportunities.
D.R. Horton, Inc. stock has dropped 10% since DHI released its first quarter fiscal 2025 financial results on January 21. D.R. Horton’s earnings outlook is fading as the housing market slows.
Wall Street, D.R. Horton, and many others are waiting for the conditions to change to help reignite the housing market and home-building industry.
The Basic Reasons Why DHI in Tuesday’s Bear of the Day
D.R. Horton has been the largest U.S. homebuilder by volume since the early 2000s. The Arlington, Texas-based company builds homes across 36 states and nearly 130 markets.
DHI’s various brands cater to different types of buyers at different stages of life and income brackets, with prices ranging from $200K to $1 million. D.R. Horton also offers mortgage financing, title services, and more.
D.R. Horton posted a blockbuster stretch of growth between 2012 and 2022, including 21% revenue growth in 2022 and 37% in 2021. The housing market has cooled off substantially since then. Soaring home prices and higher mortgage rates could hold back demand for the foreseeable future.
Prices and rates will likely have to come down a little bit more before home construction demand bounces back. DHI’s earnings outlook dropped following its Q1 FY25 release on January 21, with its FY25 estimate 7% lower and FY26’s consensus 8% off the pace. The recent downward revisions are part of D.R. Horton’s larger negative trend that began in the fall.
D.R. Horton’s negative EPS revisions earn the stock a Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell). DHI’s adjusted earnings are projected to slip 9% in FY25 on slightly lower sales.
Bottom Line on DHI Stock
DHI shares are down around 31% from their fall highs and investors might want to wait for some signs of life from D.R. Horton and the broader industry before they start buying.
Thankfully, D.R. Horton’s long-term outlook remains impressive. Millennials are driving the housing market, and home builders didn’t overbuild during the Covid boom, which means supply is still far below overall demand.
“The supply of homes at affordable price points is generally still limited, and demographics supporting housing demand remain favorable,” DHI Executive Chairman David Auld said in prepared remarks.
“Despite continued affordability challenges and competitive market conditions, incentives such as mortgage rate buydowns have helped to address affordability and spur demand. Additionally, given our focus on affordable product offerings, we have continued to start and sell more of our homes with smaller floor plans to meet homebuyer demand.”
Investors should keep D.R. Horton on their watchlists while looking elsewhere for stocks to buy now.

The sharp reduction in airline seats in the U.S. market, which has driven up ticket prices, has boosted the top-line performance of carriers in the final quarter of 2024.
The fourth-quarter performance of transportation stocks has also been aided by prudent cost-management actions. To mitigate the ills associated with lackluster freight demand, many companies in the sector are cutting costs. Moreover, the fact that e-commerce is still a force to reckon with bodes well.

Volaris, based in Mexico, currently has an Earnings ESP of +4.27% and carries a Zacks Rank #3. Upbeat air travel demand is aiding the company. VLRS is slated to report fourth-quarter 2024 results on Feb. 24.
Despite capacity reduction due to engine inspections, the Mexican airline expects total revenues for 2024 to be close to 2023. The top line is likely to have been aided by an increase in base fares and ancillary revenue per passenger.
Demand is likely to have increased, with management stating that booking trends for the peak holiday season were robust. VLRS beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate in each of the last four quarters, with the average being 159.5%.
