Hype is what influences Dogecoin's price
Markets these days are structured totally differently than in the past. Dogecoin is proof of this, as having a strong community of supporters might be the only thing keeping it relevant.
Dogecoin was created as a joke alternative to Bitcoin, with no true purpose other than that. But as an early entrant to the crypto world, it attracted fans that have carried the price. Nonetheless, Dogecoin's price moves based on short bursts of heightened interest. But what goes up has typically come down fast, which becomes clear when we look at Dogecoin's historical price chart.
Thinking through a best-case scenario makes things crystal clear
If Dogecoin's price does reach $1, it would imply a market cap of $152 billion. That is not insignificant. At that market cap, Dogecoin would rival the valuations of companies like Sony, Capital One, and Unilever.
But what would it take to get to this point? To put it simply, there would need to be an unprecedented surge in demand for Dogecoin tokens. This would introduce immense amounts of capital, which could rapidly drive up the price.
There are already Dogecoin spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on the market. These started launching more than a year ago. We're past the initial phase of excitement, so this catalyst has already played out and is now in the rearview mirror.
Perhaps Tesla Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk will post on social media site X (formerly Twitter) that he will deeply integrate Dogecoin into the operations of his various businesses. Or maybe he will announce a new venture whose primary goal is to boost adoption of Dogecoin. This could help jump-start the price.
Macro conditions might result in market exuberance. Additionally, Dogecoin's developer community might come up with some game-changing innovations that make the blockchain more compelling for a variety of use cases.
Even if all of these factors happened in the coming months, an outcome I view as having almost no chance of happening, Dogecoin still would probably fail to hit $1 next year.
Investors should avoid short-term price targets
While Dogecoin's bulls want the token's price to soar 673% during the next year to get to $1 before the end of 2026, this outcome just isn't in the cards without what amounts to a miracle. It's smart to temper expectations. Dogecoin's best days might be behind it.
And when it comes to having the right mindset, investors shouldn't look to buy stocks or cryptocurrencies with only a 12-month time horizon. The best strategy is to focus on the long term, paying attention to the quality of the assets in question instead of trying to predict price movements, a tempting activity that is largely a waste of time.
Dogecoin remains a dangerous gamble. If you're looking to take on more risk in your portfolio -- within reason -- there are lots of growth stocks to choose from. And in the world of crypto, Bitcoin is the best digital asset to own.

It seems like there are an unlimited number of cryptocurrencies on the market these days. Despite a crowded field, Dogecoin (CRYPTO: DOGE) was one of the early ones, and it's still around. The dog-themed blockchain network was launched in 2013. It's impressive that it's remained relevant for more than a decade.
Dogecoin currently trades 82% off its peak (as of Dec. 12), a high-water mark that was established in May 2021. But the meme coin has skyrocketed 110,000% in the past 10 years, generating phenomenal gains for its hodlers (crypto lingo for holders) in the process. The price right now is $0.1367 per coin. But can Dogecoin reach $1 by the end of 2025?

Dogecoin is trying to make the improbable happen
Investors who are hoping that Dogecoin hits $1 before this year ends are asking for a monster gain in the digital asset's price in less than three weeks. This translates to a whopping 630% return. To be clear, this outcome isn't going to happen. It's not realistic to expect any asset's price to rise so much in such a short period of time.
Nvidia has been the hottest stock in recent years. Before reaching its record high in October, it took the leading artificial intelligence enterprise 30 months for the share price to soar roughly the same amount as Dogecoin would need to. If this return happened in a few short weeks, investors, analysts, and economists would all be convinced that there is something fundamentally broken with the market.
Dogecoin's historical gain has been spectacular. However, investors have had to deal with tremendous amounts of volatility. And the market appears to be losing its enthusiasm for the token. Dogecoin's price has tanked 57% in 2025 alone. The entire crypto market, which has also been under pressure, has shed about 6% of its value this year.
If Dogecoin's price did get to $1 by year-end, it would imply that the blockchain carries a market cap of $152 billion. This exceeds the valuations of companies like Pfizer, Unilever, and Lowe's, all of which sell in-demand products and services to their customers.
Let's assume that before 2026 starts, there is unprecedented quantitative easing that leads to burgeoning federal debt and monumental currency debasement, Dogecoin's developers also introduce game-changing innovations on the blockchain that result in a surge in usage, and capital allocators decide to buy the meme coin at historic rates. These are all extremely favorable factors, but they aren't happening in isolation or together.
Is Dogecoin still a smart buy today?
Dogecoin's price surely won't increase by 630% during the rest of this year. Those with more tempered expectations, though, might still be interested in speculating. Does this digital asset still present a smart buying opportunity? It depends on how you allocate your hard-earned savings.
The only people who will be even remotely interested are those looking to gamble on short-term price movements. A look at Dogecoin's historical price chart will reveal that it experiences very short-term bursts in positive sentiment, followed by crashes. The token is driven by unpredictable hype cycles that naturally draw momentum traders looking for a quick profit.
If you're a long-term investor, which I view as the best way to play the markets, then it won't be hard to convince you to avoid Dogecoin like the plague. As mentioned, the investment community might slowly be forgetting about this blockchain project, as the price has been in a downward spiral. Unless there are some incredible catalysts on the horizon, this should continue.
Dogecoin doesn't add any real-world value, and its supply is constantly increasing, an unfavorable comparison with a key competitor. The crypto it followed, Bitcoin, is completely decentralized, and it has a fixed supply of 21 million coins. Bitcoin is also being integrated into the traditional financial services industry in various ways. It's the much better choice for investors who have a five- or 10-year time horizon.

The Procter & Gamble Company PG has delivered a dismal performance in recent months, weighed down by softer category demand, heightened promotional activity and a tough macro environment across several core markets. The company is contending with mounting pressures in North America and Europe, where increasingly value-conscious consumers and intensified competitive discounting are creating additional headwinds.
The slowdown in its performance has led the shares to decline 11.9% in the past three months, causing it to underperform the broader sector and the S&P 500 index, while it outpaced the Consumer Products - Staples industry. The Consumer Staples sector has declined 6.2% in the past three months, but the S&P 500 has rallied 5.1%. Meanwhile, the broader industry has fallen 13.9% in the same period.

Amid these pressures, the Cincinnati-based consumer goods giant has slipped to fresh 52-week lows twice in the past two months. PG first touched a low of $144.09 on Nov. 10, 2025, and then fell further to a new 52-week low of $138.14 on Dec. 8, 2025, underscoring the market’s growing caution toward the stock.
PG’s performance is notably weaker than that of its competitors, Unilever Plc UL, BJ's Wholesale Club BJ and Albertsons Companies ACI, which declined 10.3%, 7.8% and 7.9%, respectively, in the past three months.
At the current share price of $139.63, PG trades 1.1% above its recent 52-week low mark of $138.14. Also, the PG stock trades 22.4% below its 52-week high of $179.99.

Although innovation pipelines in categories like Tide, Pampers and SK-II remain strong, the near-term environment is challenging. The combination of softer category growth, intensifying price competition and ongoing restructuring has contributed meaningfully to PG’s recent stock decline.

The Zacks Consensus Estimate for PG’s fiscal 2026 and 2027 EPS was unchanged in the last 30 days. For fiscal 2026, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for PG’s sales and EPS implies 3.2% and 2.6% year-over-year growth, respectively. The consensus mark for fiscal 2027 sales and earnings indicates growth of 2.9% and 5.7% year-over-year, respectively.

At 19.42X P/E, Procter & Gamble is trading at a valuation higher than its competitors, like Unilever and Albertsons Companies. Unilever and Albertsons Companies have forward 12-month P/E ratios of 18.14X and 8.34X — lower than Procter & Gamble. Meanwhile, its competitor BJ's Wholesale Club has a forward 12-month P/E ratio of 19.54X, slightly higher than PG.

Procter & Gamble Drops 11.9% in 3 Months: Buy the Dip or Stay Wary?

The GMO International Quality ETF is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Tuesday, with over 2.4 million shares traded versus three month average volume of about 51,000. Shares of QLTI were off about 0.6% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Tuesday were Haleon, trading off about 0.6% with over 7.5 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Novo Nordisk, down about 0.7% on volume of over 6.8 million shares. Unilever is the component faring the best Tuesday, higher by about 3.3% on the day, while Diageo is lagging other components of the GMO International Quality ETF, trading lower by about 2.6%.

Marvell Technology, Inc. MRVL slid roughly 7% after Carvana Co. (CVNA) claimed the S&P 500 spot many had anticipated would go to the chipmaker. CVNA soared 12.1%.
Shares of Confluent, Inc. CFLT skyrocketed 29.1% after International Business Machines Corporation IBM announced plans to acquire the data-infrastructure firm in a $11 billion deal.

Investors came into the new week on Monday largely in wait-and-see mode, as the Federal Reserve will begin its two-day December meeting on Tuesday. The central bank's latest pronouncement on interest rates, which it will make on Wednesday afternoon, will play a huge role in investor sentiment heading into the remainder of the holiday season and into 2026. For now, though, investors didn't see anything that warranted large moves in the primary market benchmarks. The Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX: ^IXIC), S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) , and Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES: ^DJI) all saw relatively modest declines on the day.

Despite the relatively calm trading session, several individual stocks saw much larger moves on Monday. Read on to learn more about some high-flying companies as well as a couple of large businesses that have suffered some recent setbacks.
Top Stock Gainers Today
CFLT: +29%
Confluent (NASDAQ: CFLT) jumped on news that tech behemoth IBM (NYSE: IBM) had entered into an agreement to acquire the open-source data streaming company. Under the terms of the deal, Confluent shareholders will receive $31 per share in cash for their stock, valuing the company at $11 billion. As IBM sees it, integrating Confluent into its own technology platforms will allow the two companies' joint enterprise customer bases to deploy new generative and agentic AI solutions more effectively than they could separately. Meanwhile, Confluent co-founder/CEO Jay Kreps was excited by what joining Big Blue could mean for his company. Given the pace at which AI service providers are scrambling to scale up their businesses to meet unprecedented demand, it wasn't surprising to see that IBM shares also managed to gain a bit of ground Monday -- something that's relatively unusual for an acquirer making a major purchase of an AI stock.

A lesser-known company led the list of top stock market gainers on Monday. Wave Life Sciences (NASDAQ: WVE) soared nearly 150% during the regular session after the clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company announced positive results from a trial of its investigational obesity treatment. Wave's WVE-007 produced improvements in body composition, including reductions in fat mass and increases in lean mass after three months. Wave also demonstrated a favorable safety profile for the candidate treatment.CEO Paul Bolno said that the results exceeded Wave's expectations and put WVE-007 on a similar level as GLP-1 weight-loss drugs. In addition, with the potential to let patients take WVE-007 just once or twice per year, Wave hopes that patients could eventually be able to enjoy favorable health benefits without the need for more frequent injections.
Top Stock Losers Today
UL: -7%
Shares of global consumer products giant Unilever (NYSE: UL) were down on Monday, but don't let the decline trick you. The move follows the company's spinoff of its Magnum Ice Cream (NYSE: MICC) unit, which started trading as an independent company on Monday. Unilever shareholders who held shares last Friday were entitled to receive one share of Magnum stock for every five Unilever shares they held, but Monday's buyers of Unilever stock were no longer eligible. Magnum, which also owns the popular Ben & Jerry's ice cream brand, didn't get a huge bump out of the gate, but many investors believe that the ice cream unit could fare better on its own than it has under the thumb of the massive consumer stock's global empire.
APD: -9%
Finally, Air Products and Chemicals (NYSE: APD) dropped over 9% on the day. The maker of industrial gases and chemicals said that it is in advanced negotiations with Norway's Yara International to create a new partnership. Air Products would contribute its industrial gas capabilities as well as its exposure to low-emission hydrogen, while Yara would bring its ammonia production and distribution network to the table. Despite the potential benefits of the deal, investors seem to believe that the amount of capital required for the investment could put pressure on Air Products' balance sheet. More broadly, hydrogen projects haven't seen as much success as some investors had hoped, but a deal would mean Air Products would have more at risk if the two parties reach a final agreement.

Biggest Stock Movers Today, Dec. 8: CFLT, UL, & More

The DividendRank formula at Dividend Channel ranks a coverage universe of thousands of dividend stocks, according to a proprietary formula designed to identify those stocks that combine two important characteristics — strong fundamentals and a valuation that looks inexpensive. Unilever plc (Symbol: UL) presently has an above average rank, in the top 50% of the coverage universe, which suggests it is among the top most "interesting" ideas that merit further research by investors.

Unilever is Oversold

(RTTNews) - The Magnum Ice Cream Company N.V. announced that, on 8 December 2025, its ordinary shares will be admitted to: listing and trading on Euronext Amsterdam; listing on the Equity Shares category of the Official List of the UK Financial Conduct Authority and to trading on the London Stock Exchange's main market for listed securities; and listing and trading on the NYSE.
On admission, the company's issued and outstanding ordinary share capital will be 612,259,739 ordinary shares. The ordinary shares have a nominal value of 3.50 euros each and carry voting rights of one vote per share. As at 8 December 2025, there were 612,259,739 ordinary shares with voting rights.
Unilever PLC announced, on 6 December 2025, that it completed the demerger of its ice cream business, now known as The Magnum Ice Cream Company N.V.
