The company was formerly known as Carlin Gold Inc. and changed its name to Uranium Energy Corp. in January 2005. The SPDR S&P North American Natural Resources ETF is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Tuesday, with over 747,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 60,000. Shares of NANR were up about 0.3% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Tuesday were Transocean, trading up about 0.2% with over 23.6 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Occidental Petroleum, off about 4.2% on volume of over 15.4 million shares. Uranium Energy is the component faring the best Tuesday, higher by about 10.4% on the day, while SM Energy is lagging other components of the SPDR S&P North American Natural Resources ETF, trading lower by about 5.3%.

Uranium Energy (NYSEMKT: UEC) stock jumped 6.6% through 10:35 a.m. ET Tuesday after reporting in-line earnings this morning -- and by in-line, I mean Uranium Energy didn't earn anything.
Analysts forecast the uranium miner would lose $0.03 per share in its fiscal Q2 2026, and that's exactly what happened. On sales, Uranium Energy generated $20.2 million from uranium sales at an average price of $101 per pound.

Uranium Energy Q2 "earnings"
Uranium spot prices averaged $80.76 per pound in Q2, and are sitting at $85.90 per pound today, according to data from TradingEconomics.com. Uranium Energy, however, got prices better than either of these numbers by selling its uranium at times of its choosing, unhedged.
Looking at the chart, I'm guessing most of its sales took place on Jan. 29, when uranium prices briefly passed $101 per pound before immediately plunging to... right about where the price is today.
What's curious about Uranium Energy is that the company has a low-cost production strategy. According to management, it costs Uranium Energy only about $44.14 to produce a pound of uranium, and it produced 45,743 pounds of the stuff last quarter.
Can Uranium Energy earn a profit?
What's more, its costs are falling -- and production is increasing.
Uranium Energy produced most of its uranium from just two "header houses" (also known as a wellhead house -- the place where leached uranium is extracted from a mine) last quarter. Uranium Energy has four more header houses built now, and is working on three more. It's also cooperating with its engineering contractor, Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR), to build a new refining and conversion plant to turn uranium "yellowcake" ore into uranium hexafluoride gas.
Analysts predict Uranium Energy will turn profitable next year. With production ramping up, I believe it.

U.S. President Donald Trump recently launched “Project Vault,” a $12 billion strategic stockpile of critical and rare earth minerals aimed at insulating U.S. manufacturers from supply shocks. The reserve will source and store key inputs, such as rare earths, lithium, cobalt, copper and uranium.
The plan, announced from the Oval Office, brings together $2 billion in private capital and a $10 billion loan from the U.S. Export-Import Bank.
Rare earth miners and critical materials stocks such as MP Materials (MP), along with clean energy names like Bloom Energy BE, which rely on metals central to the global energy transition, jumped on the news, underscoring how policies that bolster the domestic supply chain can lift market confidence.
For investors, this policy adoption highlights a significant entry opportunity in exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that hold upstream producers and developers, such as VanEck Rare Earth & Strategic Metals ETF (REMX) as well as clean energy ETFs like iShares Global Clean Energy ETF (ICLN), with critical minerals serving as the "bloodstream" for renewable hardware.

While the policy is rooted in security, the direct beneficiaries are battery manufacturing and clean energy companies. Rare earths like neodymium and dysprosium are essential for the permanent magnets found in EV motors and wind turbines.
Industry experts note that the critical next step will be transforming these raw materials into advanced components within the United States, fostering a resilient domestic manufacturing base for future technologies, ranging from EVs to humanoid robots. This creates a foundational material base that can accelerate the entire clean tech ecosystem, from miners like MP to wind turbine manufacturers like Iberdrola IBDRY, on the path of a multi-year growth cycle.

This fund, with net assets worth $509.6 million, offers exposure to 128 global securities in the critical materials industry. Its top five holdings include FreeportMcMoRan FCX (5.28%), NAC Kazatomprom (5.20%), Cameco Corp. CCJ (5.00%), ALB (4.61%) and Uranium Energy UEC (4.17%).
SETM has rallied 134.8% over the past year. The fund charges 65 bps as fees.
iShares Global Clean Energy ETF ICLN
This fund, with net assets worth $2.14 billion, offers exposure to 102 companies that produce energy from solar, wind, and other renewable sources. Its top five holdings include BE (11.28%), Nextpower NXT (9.73%), First Solar FSLR (7.15%), IBDRY (5.38%) and China Yangtze Power (4.34%).

A growing corner of Wall Street views uranium and uranium stocks as the next gold and silver trade, meaning investors should buy some nuclear fuel stocks now for huge upside in 2026 and beyond.
Are Soaring Uranium Stocks the Next Gold and Silver Trade?
The AI age is projected to drive a 25% increase in U.S. electricity demand by the end of the decade and 75% to 100% growth by 2050. This is why Meta, Microsoft, and other AI hyperscalers are racing to secure long-term power agreements with nuclear energy companies.
Nuclear energy is expected to power a large chunk of the AI age for a few simple reasons. It's already provided 50% of America's carbon-free electricity for decades.
Plus, nuclear power plants provide baseload power, operating at full capacity more than 93% of the time. This makes nuclear by far the most reliable energy source, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.
The AI hyperscalers and the U.S. Federal Government are throwing full weight behind creating a nuclear energy renaissance, which is only possible with massive uranium industry expansion.
On top of that, there are only a few U.S. uranium companies, which means that they will benefit substantially from the all-hands-on-deck push to kick the domestic nuclear fuel industry into hyperdrive.
The nuclear energy boom already sent uranium prices to their highest levels in over 15 years in 2024. Despite a pullback, uranium prices have soared roughly 170% since the start of 2021.
More importantly, uranium demand is set to outstrip supply for years to come since new supply takes a long time to bring online.
Plus, despite hyperscalers making nuclear power deals and small modular reactor stocks soaring, no new nuclear reactors have been built in the U.S. recently. SMRs and new larger-scale reactors are not expected to start producing power until the early 2030s, at the earliest.
The U.S. government is spurring the industry on after adding uranium to the list of Critical Minerals in November. The U.S. government is actively supporting many domestic uranium companies.
Domestic uranium companies will become more and more critical as the U.S. attempts to slowly wean off Russian imports and its broader sphere of influence, which dominate the nuclear fuel industry.
The World Nuclear Association said that "over a fourfold increase in annual uranium production would be needed to fuel the tripling of global nuclear capacity" in its World Nuclear Outlook Report published in January 2026.
This backdrop means that investors looking to cash in on the next potential gold and silver-like trade might want to look at uranium stocks.
Buy Soaring "Strong Buy" Uranium Stock LEU Right Now?
Centrus Energy Corp. is a diversified supplier of nuclear fuel components and services for commercial nuclear power plants. LEU is working directly with the U.S. government and other key players leading the U.S. nuclear revival. LEU's impressive upward earnings revisions help it land a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy).
The Bethesda, Maryland-headquartered firm is helping drive the next generation of centrifuge technologies and beyond to help restore domestic uranium enrichment capabilities. Centrus Energy in 2023 inaugurated the first new U.S.-technology, U.S.-owned uranium enrichment plant to begin production since 1954.
Centrus boasts that it's "pioneering production of High-Assay, Low-Enriched Uranium and is leading the effort to restore America's uranium enrichment capabilities."
Centrus, in early January, was awarded $900 million from the U.S. government to help "create domestic HALEU enrichment capacity." The current fleet of nuclear reactors runs on uranium fuel enriched up to 5%, while HALEU is enriched between 5% and 20% and is required for the next-gen SMRs. Speaking of, Centrus is working with small modular reactor upstarts like TerraPower.
LEU, which has provided its utility customers with more than 1,850 reactor years of fuel since 1998, said it's already secured "$2.3 billion in LEU purchase commitments from utilities contingent upon securing the necessary financing to build the new capacity."
The nuclear fuel stock skyrocketed 1,300% in the past five years and 250% in the past 12 months. Yet LEU trades 95% below its 2007 peak, as it continues to find support near its critical 10-month moving average.
On a shorter timeframe, Centrus is holding firm near its 21-day after falling 11% on Thursday amid a huge Microsoft-driven selloff. LEU is still down 30% from its mid-October highs, and is on the cusp of breaking out above the key technical range above.
Why Uranium Energy Stock is a Great Buy and Hold
Uranium Energy Corp. is a Corpus Christi, Texas-based uranium mining company focused on advancing the next generation of low-cost, environmentally friendly in situ recovery (ISR) uranium mining. UEC is also running high-grade conventional projects in the U.S. and Canada.
Uranium Energy, which is one of a few domestic uranium companies, is attempting to build America's "Only Vertically Integrated Uranium Fuel Supply Chain, from Mining to Conversion, Supporting U.S. Enrichment."
UEC is increasing production via the construction of new low-cost in-situ recovery capacity in Wyoming and Texas. The domestic uranium company offered a bullish outlook for 2026 when it reported its Q1 FY26 results in early December.
Uranium Energy is projected to trim its adjusted loss from -$0.17 a share in FY25 to -$0.10 in FY26 and then soar all the way to +$0.06 next year. Its revenue is set to slip this year and then skyrocket 125% in FY27 as it ramps up its business and the U.S. nuclear revival revs into full gear.
Wall Street is bullish on UEC, with 7 of the 9 brokerage recommendations Zacks has at "Strong Buys." Uranium Energy is also growing its unhedged uranium inventory to position itself to benefit from potentially massive upside. It also has a stout balance sheet, with no debt and $698 million in cash, uranium inventory, and equities at market prices.
UEC shares have climbed 2,000% in the past decade, including a 920% run in the past five years. Its 60% YTD charge to start 2026 helped it overtake its October records to reach new all-time highs.
The bulls stepped up right at Uranium Energy's previous highs after tumbling on Thursday, signaling they are ready to push UEC and the wider uranium industry higher. Any pullback to UEC's 50-day or lower would likely mark a screaming buying opportunity for traders and investors.

Are Soaring Uranium Stocks the Next Gold and Silver Trade?
The AI age is projected to drive a 25% increase in U.S. electricity demand by the end of the decade and 75% to 100% growth by 2050. This is why Meta META, Microsoft, and other AI hyperscalers are racing to secure long-term power agreements with nuclear energy companies.
Nuclear energy is expected to power a large chunk of the AI age for a few simple reasons. It’s already provided 50% of America’s carbon-free electricity for decades.
Plus, nuclear power plants provide baseload power, operating at full capacity more than 93% of the time. This makes nuclear by far the most reliable energy source, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.
The AI hyperscalers and the U.S. Federal Government are throwing full weight behind creating a nuclear energy renaissance, which is only possible with massive uranium industry expansion.

On top of that, there are only a few U.S. uranium companies, which means that they will benefit substantially from the all-hands-on-deck push to kick the domestic nuclear fuel industry into hyperdrive.
The nuclear energy boom already sent uranium prices to their highest levels in over 15 years in 2024. Despite a pullback, uranium prices have soared roughly 170% since the start of 2021.
More importantly, uranium demand is set to outstrip supply for years to come since new supply takes a long time to bring online.
Plus, despite hyperscalers making nuclear power deals and small modular reactor stocks soaring, no new nuclear reactors have been built in the U.S. recently. SMRs and new larger-scale reactors are not expected to start producing power until the early 2030s, at the earliest.
The U.S. government is spurring the industry on after adding uranium to the list of Critical Minerals in November. The U.S. government is actively supporting many domestic uranium companies.
Domestic uranium companies will become more and more critical as the U.S. attempts to slowly wean off Russian imports and its broader sphere of influence, which dominate the nuclear fuel industry.
The World Nuclear Association said that “over a fourfold increase in annual uranium production would be needed to fuel the tripling of global nuclear capacity” in its World Nuclear Outlook Report published in January 2026.
This backdrop means that investors looking to cash in on the next potential gold and silver-like trade might want to look at uranium stocks.
Buy Soaring "Strong Buy" Uranium Stock LEU Right Now?
Centrus Energy Corp. LEU is a diversified supplier of nuclear fuel components and services for commercial nuclear power plants. LEU is working directly with the U.S. government and other key players leading the U.S. nuclear revival. LEU’s impressive upward earnings revisions help it land a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy).
The Bethesda, Maryland-headquartered firm is helping drive the next generation of centrifuge technologies and beyond to help restore domestic uranium enrichment capabilities. Centrus Energy in 2023 inaugurated the first new U.S.-technology, U.S.-owned uranium enrichment plant to begin production since 1954.

Centrus boasts that it’s “pioneering production of High-Assay, Low-Enriched Uranium and is leading the effort to restore America’s uranium enrichment capabilities.”
Centrus, in early January, was awarded $900 million from the U.S. government to help “create domestic HALEU enrichment capacity.” The current fleet of nuclear reactors runs on uranium fuel enriched up to 5%, while HALEU is enriched between 5% and 20% and is required for the next-gen SMRs. Speaking of, Centrus is working with small modular reactor upstarts like TerraPower.
LEU, which has provided its utility customers with more than 1,850 reactor years of fuel since 1998, said it’s already secured “$2.3 billion in LEU purchase commitments from utilities contingent upon securing the necessary financing to build the new capacity.”

The nuclear fuel stock skyrocketed 1,300% in the past five years and 250% in the past 12 months. Yet LEU trades 95% below its 2007 peak, as it continues to find support near its critical 10-month moving average.
On a shorter timeframe, Centrus is holding firm near its 21-day after falling 11% on Thursday amid a huge Microsoft (MSFT)-driven selloff. LEU is still down 30% from its mid-October highs, and is on the cusp of breaking out above the key technical range above.
Why Uranium Energy Stock is a Great Buy and Hold
Uranium Energy Corp UEC is a Corpus Christi, Texas-based uranium mining company focused on advancing the next generation of low-cost, environmentally friendly in situ recovery (ISR) uranium mining. UEC is also running high-grade conventional projects in the U.S. and Canada.
Uranium Energy, which is one of a few domestic uranium companies, is attempting to build America’s “Only Vertically Integrated Uranium Fuel Supply Chain, from Mining to Conversion, Supporting U.S. Enrichment.”

UEC is increasing production via the construction of new low-cost in-situ recovery capacity in Wyoming and Texas. The domestic uranium company offered a bullish outlook for 2026 when it reported its Q1 FY26 results in early December.
Uranium Energy is projected to trim its adjusted loss from -$0.17 a share in FY25 to -$0.10 in FY26 and then soar all the way to +$0.06 next year. Its revenue is set to slip this year and then skyrocket 125% in FY27 as it ramps up its business and the U.S. nuclear revival revs into full gear.
Wall Street is bullish on UEC, with 7 of the 9 brokerage recommendations Zacks has at “Strong Buys.” Uranium Energy is also growing its unhedged uranium inventory to position itself to benefit from potentially massive upside. It also has a stout balance sheet, with no debt and $698 million in cash, uranium inventory, and equities at market prices.

UEC shares have climbed 2,000% in the past decade, including a 920% run in the past five years. Its 60% YTD charge to start 2026 helped it overtake its October records to reach new all-time highs.

Buy Soaring Uranium Stocks Now and Hold for Home Run Potential

Round up the usual suspects
Uranium prices aren't the problem. Trading Economics data shows uranium prices going positively parabolic, up 12% over the last couple of months to $88.40 per pound. This is the highest price since May 2024 and is approaching the highest price in the last decade ($106), recorded in February 2024.
Headline news isn't the problem, either. The biggest news in the uranium market today is South Korea announcing it will build two big new nuclear plants. State-owned Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) hopes to secure construction permits in the early 2030s and have the reactors operational by 2037 and 2038, respectively.
This is bullish for global uranium demand -- not a reason for Energy Fuels stock fall 7%.
Is Centrus Energy stock a buy?
So why is Centrus Energy stock down today? That's an excellent question.
Priced at 46 times earnings, Centrus Energy is not a cheap stock. But at least it has earnings, which is more than I can say for uranium stocks such as Denison Mines (NYSEMKT: DNN), Energy Fuels (NYSEMKT: UUUU), or Uranium Energy (NYSEMKT: UEC). Centrus's efforts to focus on uranium enrichment, and particularly the production of high-assay, low-enriched uranium (HALEU) fuel for advanced nuclear power plants, also seem wise to me. That's a weak link in the U.S. supply chain that Centrus should attempt to fill.
With a good business model, a balance sheet brimming with more cash than debt, and positive free cash flow that dwarfs its own reported net income (the enterprise value-to-free cash flow ratio is only 34x), Centrus Energy seems to me one of the best buys in nuclear stocks today.

Is GEV the Best AI Energy Stock to Buy?
GE Vernova continues cementing its case to be one of the more sure-fire long-term winners in the AI energy trade. The GE spinoff boasts that its customers generate roughly 25% of global electricity via its installed base of technologies across nuclear, natural gas, electrification, and beyond.
GEV has provided nuclear turbine technologies and services for all reactor types for decades. On top of that, it's ready to be one of a few titans of the next generation of nuclear energy, small modular reactors (SMRs), via its GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy unit and its BWRX-300 SMRs.
GE Vernova is working directly with power companies in the U.S. and Canada to deploy its next-gen SMRs by the early 2030s.
The company is also a natural gas turbine giant. This provides a huge growth runway as the AI hyperscalers race to make natural gas deals while they wait for more nuclear power to come online. GEV’s power conversion, energy storage, and grid solutions are also gaining momentum.
GEV stock briefly broke out of the trading range and was stuck in for the back of 2025 after it raised its long-term financial guidance on December 9. The company said its “electrification backlog will double in the next 3 years,” with its total backlog projected to climb from $135 billion to $200 by year-end 2028.
The AI energy giant's growth outlook empowered GEV to boost its shareholder rewards. GEV in December doubled its quarterly dividend for 2026 and lifted its repurchase authorization to $10 billion from $6 billion.
The gas turbine and nuclear technology standout is projected to grow its adjusted EPS by 31% in FY25 and 82% in FY26 to reach $13.27 a share vs. $5.58 in 2024, based on the most recent Zacks estimates. It is expected to expand its revenue by 6% in FY25 and 14% in 2026 to pull in $42 billion—GEV projects its revenue will reach $52 billion by 2028.
GEV stock has skyrocketed 385% since its April 2024 IPO, crushing Nvidia’s 110% and AI chip manufacturer Taiwan Semi’s 145%. The stock jumped on Friday to climb firmly above its 21-day moving average. It is now on the cusp of returning to its December records heading into its Q4 earnings release on January 28.

GE Vernova GEV continues cementing its case to be one of the more sure-fire long-term winners in the AI energy trade. The GE spinoff boasts that its customers generate roughly 25% of global electricity via its installed base of technologies across nuclear, natural gas, electrification, and beyond.
GEV has provided nuclear turbine technologies and services for all reactor types for decades. On top of that, it's ready to be one of a few titans of the next generation of nuclear energy, small modular reactors (SMRs), via its GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy unit and its BWRX-300 SMRs.
GE Vernova is working directly with power companies in the U.S. and Canada to deploy its next-gen SMRs by the early 2030s.

The company is also a natural gas turbine giant. This provides huge growth runway as the AI hyperscalers race to make natural gas deals while they wait for more nuclear power to come online. GEV’s power conversion, energy storage, and grid solutions are also gaining momentum.
GEV stock briefly broke out of the trading range was stuck in for the back of 2025 after it raised its long-term financial guidance on December 9. The company said its “electrification backlog will double in the next 3 years,” with its total backlog projected to climb from $135 billion to $200 by year-end 2028.
The AI energy giant's growth outlook empowered GEV to boost its shareholder rewards. GEV in December doubled its quarterly dividend for 2026 and lifted its repurchase authorization to $10 billion from $6 billion.

The gas turbine and nuclear technology standout is projected to grow its adjusted EPS by 31% in FY25 and 82% in FY26 to reach $13.27 a share vs. $5.58 in 2024, based on the most recent Zacks estimates. It is expected to expand its revenue by 6% in FY25 and 14% in 2026 to pull in $42 billion—GEV projects its revenue will reach $52 billion by 2028.
GEV stock has skyrocketed 385% since its April 2024 IPO, crushing Nvidia’s 110% and AI chip manufacturer Taiwan Semi’s 145%. The stock jumped on Friday to climb firmly above its 21-day moving average. It is now on the cusp of returning to its December records heading into its Q4 earnings release on January 28.
