It develops and publishes action/adventure products under the Grand Theft Auto, LA Noire, Max Payne, Midnight Club, and Red Dead Redemption names, as well as other franchises. The company also publishes various entertainment properties across various platforms and a range of genres, such as shooter, action, role-playing, strategy, sports, and family/casual entertainment under the BioShock, Mafia, Sid Meier's Civilization, XCOM series, Borderlands, and Tiny Tina's Wonderland names. In addition, it publishes sports simulation titles comprising NBA 2K series, a basketball video game; the WWE 2K professional wrestling series; mobile titles, including WWE SuperCard; and PGA TOUR 2K. Further, the company offers Kerbal Space Program and OlliOlli World; free-to-play mobile games, such as CSR Racing, Dragon City, Empires & Puzzles, FarmVille, Golf Rival, Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells, Match Factory!, Merge Dragons!, Merge Magic!, Monster Legends, Toon Blast, Top Eleven, Top Troops, Toy Blast, Two Dots, Words With Friends, and Zynga Poker; and hyper-casual mobile titles, including Fill the Fridge!, Parking Jam 3D, Power Slap, Pull the Pin, Twisted Tangle, and Tangled Snakes. Its products are designed for console gaming systems; personal computers; and mobiles comprising smartphones and tablets. The company provides its products through physical retail, digital download, online platforms, and cloud streaming services. Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. was incorporated in 1993 and is based in New York, New York.

Take-Two has a strong brand and substantial revenue, but the fundamental picture does not yet support an aggressive valuation. Revenue remains at a high level and is generally stable, while a gross margin of around 57% looks acceptable and has been improving slightly over the years. Taken together, this means that fair value should be more conservative than the current market level, since the premium for growth and quality is still running ahead of actual profitability. For an investor, TTWO remains an interesting story over the horizon of releases and normalization of results, but based on current metrics, the upside from revaluation appears limited.

High valuation multiples and weak profitability outweigh moderate liquidity and stable revenue; the valuation appears overstretched relative to the current quality.

Snail, Inc. SNAL has faced renewed pressure as investors weigh weaker second-quarter bookings and declining sales across its core ARK franchise. The stock has fallen 38.4% over the past month, reflecting concerns about slowing demand for its established titles and the company’s continued reliance on ARK.
Snail reported second-quarter revenues of $19.7 million, down from $22.2 million a year ago. The decline was mainly caused by lower sales of ARK Survival Ascended and ARK Survival Evolved. Bookings also dropped to $21.8 million from $27.1 million a year earlier.
The stock has also underperformed other industry players like Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. TTWO and Playtika Holding Corp. PLTK, as shown in the chart.
Weak ARK Sales Remain a Concern
The biggest challenge for Snail is the maturity of its ARK portfolio. Sales of ARK Survival Evolved continued to weaken as players shifted toward ARK Survival Ascended and its downloadable content.
The company sold about 574,000 units of ARK Survival Evolved during the quarter. ARK Survival Ascended sold about 1.2 million units. While ASA remains the stronger title, lower sales across the franchise weighed on quarterly performance.
Bookings fell nearly 20% year over year. This decline is important because bookings provide a view of demand before revenues are recognized. The company said lower ASE and ASA sales were the primary reasons for the decline.
Operating expenses also remain a pressure point. Higher general and administrative and research and development expenses partly offset the improvement in gross profit. Quarterly EBITDA remained negative at $3 million.
Snail is also investing heavily in future games. These investments could support long-term growth, but they put pressure on near-term profitability while the new titles are still under development.
Business Still Has Important Catalysts
Despite the weak quarter, the second half of 2026 could look considerably better.
One major factor is the timing of ARK content releases. Genesis Part 1 Ascended and Tides of Fortune were launched in early July instead of June. As a result, their contribution shifted into the third quarter.
Management expects to recognize about $11 million from deferred revenues related to Genesis Part 1 Ascended in the third quarter. Additional revenues should come from Tides of Fortune and other ARK content.
The company is also releasing the Fantastic Tames content in phases. Only one of its three creatures was delivered in the second quarter. The remaining content should support revenue recognition during the third and fourth quarters.
Bellwright is another encouraging development. The game surpassed 1 million lifetime units sold and gained traction following its PlayStation and Xbox launch. It also reached the top five paid games on Xbox shortly after the console debut.
Snail is also building a broader game pipeline. ARK Maker and the return of ARK Survival of the Fittest are planned for the second half of 2026. The company is developing three AAA titles that could eventually reduce its dependence on ARK.
Another positive is the reduction in ARK licensing costs. Snail began saving about $500,000 per month from April. Management said the savings are being reinvested in future games while also improving gross profit.
The balance sheet also offers some support. Unrestricted cash stood at $13.3 million at the end of June, up from $8.6 million at the end of 2025.
SNAL Stock’s Valuation
From a valuation standpoint, SNAL trades at a forward price-to-sales (P/S) multiple of 0.25, down from the industry’s average of 1.88. Conversely, industry players, such as Take-Two Interactive Software and Playtika Holding, have P/E multiples of 5.24 and 0.34, respectively.

SNAL’s Earnings and Sales Estimates
SNAL’s earnings outlook remains mixed. The consensus earnings estimate for 2026 has declined over the past seven days, while the same for 2027 has increased during the same period. On the revenue front, SNAL’s sales are projected to increase 22.5% in 2026 and 9.6% in 2027 from the respective prior-year levels.

SNAL’s recent decline may already reflect concerns about weaker ARK sales, softer bookings and ongoing investments in new games. Noteworthy Thursday Option Activity: MGM, TTWO, HPE

Take-Two Interactive Software TTWO reported first-quarter fiscal 2027 adjusted earnings of 36 cents per share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 16.13%. GAAP loss widened to 18 cents per share from 7 cents a year ago.
Revenues of $1.39 billion declined 2.6% year over year but topped the consensus estimate of $1.36 billion by 2.3%. Better-than-expected NBA 2K and Grand Theft Auto performance helped Net Bookings exceed management's guidance. Recurrent consumer spending accounted for 84% of Net Bookings.
GAAP net revenues increased 2.0% year over year to $1.53 billion. Game revenues rose 2.9% to $1.42 billion, while advertising revenues fell 8.4% to $111.1 million.
By platform, mobile revenues decreased 4.9% to $762.3 million and PC and other revenues dropped 13.5% to $131.1 million. Console revenues climbed 16.3% to $640.5 million, partly offsetting weakness elsewhere. U.S. revenues rose 2.2% to $920.0 million, while international revenues increased 1.7% to $613.9 million.
Take-Two's Q1 Results Show Franchise Strength
NBA 2K26 sold in more than 12 million units, up 9% from NBA 2K25. Recurrent consumer spending for NBA 2K grew 7%, supported by a 15% increase in average daily active users, a 25% rise in MyCAREER daily active users and a 35% increase in average games played per user.

The Grand Theft Auto series also exceeded the company's expectations. Grand Theft Auto V has sold in more than 230 million units worldwide, while recurrent consumer spending for the series grew 3%. Management said Grand Theft Auto VI had an exceptional start to preorders ahead of its Nov. 19 release.
TTWO's Mobile Business Remains Uneven
Zynga performed in line with management's expectations, though mobile Net Bookings declined 7% year over year. Toon Blast Net Bookings rose 8%, Words With Friends grew 8% and Top Eleven increased 15%.
NBA 2K All-Star in China surpassed 10 million registered users since launch and is generating strong profit margins. Management also noted some pressure on user acquisition but said it was not seeing a broader consumer pullback in mobile.
Take-Two's Costs Weigh on Quarterly Profitability
GAAP gross profit declined 6.6% year over year to $882.5 million, while gross margin contracted to 57.5% from 62.8%. Cost of revenues rose to $651.4 million and included a $43.4 million impairment charge tied to an unannounced third-party title that the company decided not to pursue.
Operating expenses edged down 0.6% to $918.0 million. Selling and marketing expenses fell 9.6% to $369.7 million, while research and development expenses increased 6.8% to $273.8 million and general and administrative expenses rose 9.1% to $226.3 million.
Take-Two's Balance Sheet & Cash Flow Details
Cash and cash equivalents were $1.36 billion as of June 30, 2026, down from $1.55 billion at March 31. Short-term investments increased to $461.7 million from $443.8 million.
Operating cash outflow was $168.8 million compared with $44.7 million a year earlier.
TTWO's Q2 & FY27 Outlook
For the fiscal second quarter, management expects Net Bookings of $1.62-$1.67 billion and GAAP net revenues of $1.42-$1.47 billion. GAAP loss is forecast at 84-75 cents per share, with recurrent consumer spending expected to decline about 5%.
Take-Two reiterated fiscal 2027 Net Bookings guidance of $8.0-$8.2 billion, representing roughly 20% growth at the midpoint. GAAP net revenues are still expected at $7.9-$8.1 billion, while GAAP earnings are projected at 55-75 cents per share. Recurrent consumer spending is expected to be flat year over year and represent 64% of Net Bookings.
For fiscal 2027, TTWO continues to expect operating cash flow above $1 billion. Capital expenditures are now projected at approximately $290 million, up from the prior forecast because of a planned real estate purchase, while management expects to reach a net cash position by fiscal year-end.

Take-Two Keeps GTA VI Launch at Center
CEO Strauss Zelnick said confidence in the Nov. 19 release of Grand Theft Auto VI remains high, supported by what management described as an exceptional start to preorders.
Zelnick said the preorder level is unprecedented for Take-Two and the industry, but he declined to translate that demand into unit expectations. He stressed that preorders can be canceled and that no units have yet been sold.
President Karl Slatoff also pointed to continued GTA Online engagement, saying recent content has reactivated players while the company maintains a stable update cadence and significant support for the service.
TTWO Leans on NBA 2K and Recurrent Spending
CEO Strauss Zelnick said NBA 2K26 sold more than 12 million units, up 9% from NBA 2K25. Recurrent consumer spending for the franchise grew 7%, while average daily active users increased 15%.
CFO Lainie Goldstein said companywide recurrent consumer spending declined 1%, better than guidance for a 3% decline, and represented 84% of first-quarter Net Bookings.
For the fiscal second quarter, Goldstein guided Net Bookings to $1.62 billion to $1.67 billion and expects recurrent consumer spending to decline about 5%, with mobile down and NBA 2K and Grand Theft Auto growing.
Take-Two Addresses Mobile and Pricing
A TD Cowen analyst asked about signs of weaker mobile demand. CEO Strauss Zelnick said Take-Two is not seeing consumer pullback, though user acquisition costs face some pressure and Color Block Jam has a tougher year-over-year comparison.
A BMO Capital Markets analyst questioned the decision to price GTA VI at $80 while keeping NBA 2K27 at $70. Zelnick said the company’s objective is to deliver more consumer value rather than maximize price.

TTWO Q&A Tempers Preorder Expectations
A Wells Fargo analyst asked whether strong GTA VI preorders could pull demand forward. CEO Strauss Zelnick acknowledged that outcome while reiterating that management is not raising guidance before the title launches.
A Citi analyst also pressed for a framework linking preorders to eventual sales. Zelnick again declined to provide unit expectations, emphasizing that the unprecedented preorder levels make historical comparisons less useful.
The repeated caution contrasted with management’s strong confidence in the title and reinforced the decision to keep the fiscal 2027 Net Bookings range unchanged.
Take-Two Focuses on Sustaining New Scale
