1. Nvidia
Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) has been a leader in AI investing since its inception, primarily due to its industry-leading graphics processing units (GPUs), which have been widely utilized to train and run AI models. The company projects monster growth for its GPUs over the next five years, as it expects data center capital expenditures to rise from $600 billion this year to $3 trillion to $4 trillion by 2030.
We'll see if this projection pans out, but there's still massive computing demand for AI, and Nvidia is the top provider in this segment.
2. Broadcom
Another company heavily involved in this sector is Broadcom (NASDAQ: AVGO). Broadcom has two major products being used in AI data centers: its connectivity switches and its custom AI accelerators. The biggest growth story for Broadcom is these custom AI accelerators, which are alternatives to Nvidia's GPUs that are designed in conjunction with the end user.
This could be a huge market for Broadcom, and makes me bullish on the stock.
3. Taiwan Semiconductor
Neither Nvidia nor Broadcom can produce chips themselves, so they outsource the fabrication work of their designs to Taiwan Semiconductor (NYSE: TSM). TSMC is the world's largest chip foundry and has established a reputation for continuous innovation and delivering best-in-class product yields.
It's slated to capitalize on the massive AI arms race spending, regardless of which companies are using computing devices, making it an excellent AI investment on the chip side of AI.
4. ASML
ASML (NASDAQ: ASML) is a key equipment supplier to chip foundries, such as Taiwan Semiconductor, as it holds a technological monopoly with its primary product: the extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machine. This allows chip manufacturers to lay down microscopic electrical traces. Without ASML, none of the cutting-edge chip technology we know today would be possible.
With the stock down about 30% from its all-time high (at the time of this writing), it appears to be a tremendous opportunity to scoop up while it's on sale.
5. Alphabet
Moving to the AI hyperscaler side, Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG) (NASDAQ: GOOGL) looks like a strong investment. Although many assumed that Alphabet had fallen too far behind in the AI arms race to be a worthy competitor, it has emerged as one of the top players. Its generative AI model, Gemini, is one of the best available, and with Alphabet integrating it into its Google Search engine, it's easily one of the most used.
Alphabet still trades at a discount to its big tech peers despite its recent success, and that could be a prime opportunity to make a profit over the next five years.
6. Meta Platforms
Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META), the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, is also heavily investing in AI. It's spent a ton of money hiring the best AI talent possible, and now it has reached a point where it's focusing that all-star lineup on various AI goals.
Time will tell whether this is a winning strategy, but Meta is giving itself the best chance to succeed by equipping itself with the brightest minds to lead its various AI initiatives.
7. Amazon
Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) may not be the first company you think of when you hear AI, but its cloud computing business, Amazon Web Services (AWS), is a huge part of the AI build-out trend. Most companies can't afford to build out a massive data center specifically for AI, so they rent it from a cloud computing provider like AWS.
AWS is a significant contributor to Amazon's profitability, generating 53% of Amazon's operating profits in Q2, despite accounting for only 18% of revenue. Cloud computing has a massive tailwind blowing in its favor, and investing in companies with this business is a genius idea.
8. Microsoft
AWS is the largest cloud computing provider, but Microsoft's (NASDAQ: MSFT) Azure is quickly gaining ground. Azure has grown rapidly over the past few years, with its Q4 FY 2025 growth rate (ending June 30) coming in at 39%. That's far quicker than AWS's 17% growth rate, making Microsoft an interesting stock to watch in this space.
9. SoundHound AI
SoundHound AI (NASDAQ: SOUN) is quite a bit smaller than nearly every company on this list, but it's growing at a rapid pace. SoundHound AI's technology combines AI with audio recognition, which can be used to automate millions of jobs. In Q2, its revenue grew at a jaw-dropping 217% year-over-year pace, providing an incredibly bullish outlook for the future.
Management believes they can deliver 50% organic growth for the foreseeable future, which would lead to an incredible stock performance.
10. The Trade Desk
Last on this list is The Trade Desk (NASDAQ: TTD), which has struggled lately. The stock is down over 60% from its all-time high because it's experiencing issues transitioning users from its old platform to its new AI-first platform, Kokai.
However, The Trade Desk is well-positioned to capitalize on the digital ad market. Once it gets the transition on track, it will become a leading competitor in a rapidly growing space.

His paper "Twin Momentum" looked at combining traditional price momentum with improving fundamentals to generate market outperformance. SoundHound AI does exactly what it sounds like: It combines AI technology with audio recognition. This isn't a new concept; digital assistants like Siri and Alexa have been available for years. The problem is that these models leave a lot to be desired in terms of performance, but SoundHound AI far exceeds them.
SoundHound AI's audio recognition technology incorporates generative AI and can potentially replace humans in various roles, such as taking drive-thru orders or assisting individuals with banking transactions over the phone. Another way SoundHound AI is gaining popularity is through its integration into automated digital assistants. While we haven't seen this rollout in the U.S. yet, it's becoming available in other parts of the world, such as Japan and Europe. Eventually, it will reach the U.S. and could continue to be a driving factor in SoundHound AI's revenue stream.
With SoundHound AI having the potential to disrupt a ton of industries by automating human interactions, the sky is the limit for SoundHound AI's stock. This has shown up in its revenue growth, as SoundHound AI delivered impressive quarters recently.

Most software companies trade at a multiple of 10 to 20 times sales, so this represents a significant premium to pay. Then again, most companies aren't tripling their revenue year over year, so SoundHound AI's valuation makes more sense in that context. Management expects FY 2025's revenue to be $169 million, which would value the stock at 31 times full-year estimated sales. That's still expensive, but it aligns with some of the more premium-priced software stocks.
Essentially, the stock has priced in all of 2025's growth, but the question is, what comes next? CFO Nitesh Sharan had some commentary on that:
The numbers we're talking about this year will pale in comparison to the numbers we'll talk about for next year and the year after that. And we're certainly on that pathway. And I think historically, our growth organically of 50% plus, and now with other acquisitions going even double of that like that -- that's a pace that we anticipate for the foreseeable future.
A 50% growth rate for the foreseeable future is impressive and would certainly lead to a massive outperformer in the market. It also justifies SoundHound AI's current price tag. Still, this growth rate and price tag don't combine to create a stock that could set you up for life. It will likely be a successful investment if bought today, but there are still risks involved with the business. As a result, SoundHound AI makes for a smart addition to a portfolio, but with a proper weighting that adjusts for the risks of investing in a high-growth business.

Can Buying SoundHound AI Stock Today Set You Up for Life?

C3.ai, Inc. AI reported a loss per share in the first quarter of fiscal 2026 (ended July 31, 2025), which was marginally narrower than the Zacks Consensus Estimate but wider than the year-ago quarter. Quarterly revenues missed the consensus mark and tumbled year over year.
The quarterly performance was hurt by declining contributions from the Subscription and Professional services business. Moreover, increased operating expenses and lower leverage from the top line pressured the bottom line during the quarter.
AI stock tumbled 11.8% during yesterday’s after-market trading session, following the earnings release. The investors’ sentiments are likely to have been hurt by a gloomy view of the second quarter’s revenues and expectations of a wider adjusted loss year over year.
AI’s Q1 Highlights
The company reported an adjusted loss per share of 37 cents, narrower than the Zacks Consensus Estimate of a loss per share of 38 cents by 2.6%. In the year-ago quarter, it reported an adjusted loss per share of five cents.
Revenues of $70.3 million missed the consensus mark of $91 million by 22.7% and tumbled 19.4% year over year. The reported revenues were within the company’s expected range of $70.2-$70.4 million, highlighted in the preliminary results reported in early August.

Free cash flow at the end of the quarter was negative at $34.3 million against $7.1 million at the year-ago quarter's end.

The company expects revenues in the second quarter of fiscal 2026 to be between $72 million and $80 million, down between 15% and 24% from $94.3 million reported in the year-ago quarter.
Adjusted loss from operations is expected to be between $49.5 million and $57.5 million, wider than $17.2 million reported a year ago.

BigBear.ai Holdings, Inc. BBAI reported mixed second-quarter 2025 results, with the bottom line beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate while the revenues missed the same. On a year-over-year basis, the bottom and top lines tumbled.
The quarterly performance was hurt by notable declines in demand volume on certain Army programs. Management also noted lumpiness in deal timing, which could introduce quarterly volatility. Large enterprise and OEM contracts are inherently unpredictable, and the third quarter may show seasonality before a stronger fourth-quarter ramp.

SoundHound ended the second quarter with $230 million in cash and no debt. This liquidity provides flexibility to invest in growth and absorb operating losses while moving toward its target of adjusted EBITDA profitability by late 2025. His paper "Twin Momentum" looked at combining traditional price momentum with improving fundamentals to generate market outperformance. Nvidia was a big fan of this AI stock
SoundHound AI (NASDAQ: SOUN) captured Wall Street's imagination in 2023 when Nvidia disclosed a $3.7 million investment. At the time, Nvidia was making a variety of small investments across a portfolio of AI businesses that it believed could further accelerate the AI space.
The company ultimately formed formal partnerships with many of these businesses. It worked with SoundHound, for instance, on an in-vehicle artificial intelligence (AI) platform, combining Nvidia's expertise in GPUs and software architecture with SoundHound's voice assistant technologies. The result was an in-vehicle experience that allowed drivers to chat and interact with their vehicles like never before.
The GPU maker ended up selling its SoundHound stake at a healthy profit in 2024. But its star power helped the company's stock price skyrocket from $5 to $25 over its holding period of roughly one year.
Since Nvidia exited its stake, SoundHound's stock price has slid back to around $12. However, that's still much higher than the company's valuation when Nvidia first got involved.
With the stock now trading 50% below its peak, is it time to take another look at this former AI darling? Although Nvidia is no longer directly financially invested, its involvement brought SoundHound into the limelight, adding crucial validation for a relatively small business. Could it become the next big thing in AI?
AI that you can talk to
SoundHound's business deals strictly with applying AI technology to sounds. The company has already worked with several major automakers on in-vehicle chat assistants.
It has also worked with nationwide fast-food chains on automated drive-thrus, and with countless other companies to develop AI chatbots that answer customer-service lines. Anywhere the voice of a human can potentially be replaced with the voice of an AI agent, SoundHound is working to make that possible.
This market segment within the broader AI industry is still quite sizable. Some estimates call for the global sound-AI market to grow from around $2 billion in 2024 to more than $47 billion by 2034, an annual growth rate of more than 30%.
Take a look at SoundHound's growth and you'll quickly appreciate how well the company is taking advantage of this underlying opportunity. In 2023, it increased sales by 47% year over year. In 2024, that jumped to 85%.
This year, analysts expect sales to grow by 96% -- though it should be noted that 2026 is expected to yield a mild sales jump of just 29%.
Shares trade at a lofty price-to-sales ratio of 36.3, but the market clearly understands that SoundHound could maintain elevated growth for years, if not decades. The issue won't be underlying market growth but competition.
Nearly every major tech company is developing its own form of voice AI technology, and it's uncertain whether SoundHound's $90 million annual research and development budget can sustain itself over time. It's simply not clear if the company has a reliable competitive advantage over better-financed peers.
Could SoundHound become the next big thing in AI? Absolutely. But the success of the business will hinge on its ability to compete over the long term, not on the available opportunity.

The chip giant occasionally puts its vast financial resources to work by investing in other AI companies, and SoundHound AI (NASDAQ: SOUN) was one of them.
SoundHound is a specialist in conversational AI technologies, and its customers include some of the world's biggest brands. Nvidia first revealed its stake in the company in a 13-F filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission in February 2024, but the chipmaker had sold its entire position by December.

A leader in conversational AI
SoundHound's conversational AI applications are popular in a variety of industries, but they are experiencing particularly high demand in quick-service restaurant chains and with automotive brands that want to include a powerful AI assistant in their new vehicles.
In the restaurant space, SoundHound's Voice AI technology can accept customer orders autonomously in-store, over the phone, and in the drive-thru. It can also answer queries from employees, whether they need help making menu items or need clarity on a particular store policy. Chains like Chipotle, Krispy Kreme, and Papa John's are just a few of SoundHound's customers.
In the automotive industry, companies like Hyundai and Stellantis (Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge) are using SoundHound's Chat AI software in their latest vehicles. It can give drivers information about the weather, stocks, and everything in between with a simple voice command, and manufacturers can customize its personality to suit their brand.
Last August, SoundHound acquired another conversational AI specialist called Amelia. The joint companies recently launched a new platform called Amelia 7, which allows businesses to create custom AI agents that can assist customers with their inquiries or even help employees troubleshoot technical issues. Of course, these agents can be controlled entirely with voice commands.
SoundHound's revenue is absolutely skyrocketing
SoundHound generated a record $42.6 million in total revenue during the second quarter of 2025 (ended June 30), which was a blistering 217% increase from the year-ago period.
The strong result gave management the confidence to increase its full-year revenue guidance for 2025 from $167 million to $169 million (at the midpoint of the forecast range), which would be a 99% increase compared to 2024. That would mark an acceleration from the 85% growth SoundHound generated last year, highlighting the significant momentum in its business.
But that growth is coming at a significant cost, because SoundHound continues to burn truckloads of cash. It lost $74.7 million on a generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) basis during the second quarter, which was twice as much as it lost in the year-ago period.
SoundHound did suffer a one-off, $31 million hit to its bottom line from a liability associated with one of its acquisitions during the quarter, but even after stripping it out -- along with every other one-off and non-cash expense -- the company still lost $11.8 million.
SoundHound has a solid balance sheet with $230 million in cash on hand and no debt, so it can sustain losses of that size for the foreseeable future. However, the company will eventually have to prioritize profitability, or else it might need to raise capital, which could dilute existing shareholders. Cost cuts would almost certainly dent SoundHound's revenue growth, which is something for investors to keep in mind.
Here's why Nvidia didn't make a mistake by selling SoundHound stock
Nvidia never told investors why it sold SoundHound stock, but if I had to speculate, I think its valuation likely had something to do with the decision. Its price-to-sales (P/S) ratio is trading at an eye-popping level of 48.6, which is more than a 50% premium to Nvidia's P/S ratio of 29.9.
It was even more expensive when Nvidia sold it toward the end of 2024, because its P/S ratio was hovering near 100.
SoundHound will quickly grow into its current valuation if its revenue continues to increase at such a blistering pace, but the financial results of companies in the early stages of commercialization are notoriously unpredictable, so there's no guarantee it will. Moreover, Nvidia is one of the highest quality companies in the world with a track record of success that spans decades, a rock-solid balance sheet, and surging profits, so I don't think SoundHound deserves to trade at a premium to the chip giant.
Nvidia held 1.73 million SoundHound shares, which would've been worth around $27.7 million at the current price of $16. Given the chip giant's market cap of $4.4 trillion, a total loss would've been a mere rounding error. However, holding a stock with such a steep valuation opens the door to substantial downside if the underlying company falters, so I don't think Nvidia made a mistake by closing its position.
