Two of those stocks are D-Wave Quantum (NYSE: QBTS) and Reddit (NYSE: RDDT) -- which could churn out millionaire-making gains in a few decades. Let's take a closer look.
1. D-Wave Quantum
D-Wave Quantum is one of the early movers in the nascent quantum computing market. Unlike traditional computers, which store data in binary bits of zeros and ones, quantum computers store them simultaneously in qubits. That key difference enables quantum computers to process larger amounts of data at a much faster rate than their binary counterparts, but those systems are too large and expensive to be used for mainstream computing applications. That's why they're still primarily used for niche experiments at research institutions and government agencies.
However, D-Wave's quantum annealing tools are already being used to help businesses optimize their schedules, workflows, supply chains, and logistics networks. It accomplishes that by running its quantum processes through its systems, seeing which outcome consumes the least computing power, and recommending that solution as the most efficient one.
That unique strategy makes it a quantum-powered efficiency expert that could disrupt older analytics companies. It bundles together its own hardware products and cloud services in its Leap platform, which can be directly integrated into larger public cloud infrastructure platforms. More than 100 organizations, including Deloitte, Mastercard, Lockheed Martin, and Accenture, already use its services.
Last November, D-Wave successfully calibrated its newest 4,400-qubit Advantage2 processor, which can solve complex 3D lattice problems approximately 25,000 faster than its first-gen Advantage processor. From 2024 to 2027, analysts expect the company's revenue to surge at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 102% from $8.8 million to $72.1 million.
With a market cap of $3.24 billion, D-Wave stock might seem expensive at 45 times its estimated sales for 2027. But the quantum annealing market could still expand at a CAGR of 34.8% from 2024 to 2032, according to Fortune Business Insights, and D-Wave has already established a first mover's advantage and locked in a lot of big clients.
Therefore, this little quantum computing stock could be poised to generate big multibagger gains over the next few decades.
2. Reddit
Reddit's platform blends news aggregation, discussion forum, and social media tools. That unique mix turned it into a popular place to seek peer-to-peer discussions and advice about myriad topics. As a result, its number of year-end daily active unique users nearly doubled from 53.9 million in 2021 to 101.7 million in 2024.
Nearly half of those users were logged in to its site, which made them easier to monetize with ads than its logged-out users who were merely browsing its subreddits.
A lot of Reddit's recent growth was driven by major news stories, geopolitical conflicts, and other events that drew more users into its online conversations. The company also struck data-sharing deals with Alphabet's Google and OpenAI, which integrated its subreddit discussions into Alphabet's search results and OpenAI's generative AI chatbot.
Reddit's business model initially seemed wobbly when it went public last March. But as it expanded its audience and attracted more advertisers, economies of scale kicked in to reduce costs and lift its margins. That's why the company finally turned profitable in the second half of 2024.
From 2024 to 2027, analysts expect Reddit's revenue to rise at a CAGR of 32%. They also its EPS to increase at a CAGR of 62% over the following two years.
With a market cap of $20 billion, Reddit's stock might not seem like a bargain at 10 times this year's sales. That said, Reddit's unique advantages against social media companies like Meta Platforms and search engines like Google might justify that premium if it evolves and expands into a much larger digital advertising company over the next few decades. If that happens, this pioneer in social news aggregation could also have a clear shot at generating some millionaire-making gains.

1. Meta Platforms
Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META) is a competitively strong business, with more than 3.4 billion people using at least one of its social media apps every day. This large base of users generates hundreds of billions of dollars in annual advertising revenue, which allowed the company to earn $66 billion in profit over the last year. The stock trades at a reasonable valuation, and the company continues to funnel its resources into new opportunities and technologies that it believes will drive more growth.
Meta's investments in artificial intelligence (AI) are helping increase user engagement on its apps by recommending more relevant content and helping advertisers improve ad targeting and placement. Revenue continued to grow at double-digit percentage rates in the first quarter, rising by 16% year over year, while its net profit soared by 35%.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg sees five key growth opportunities in the areas of improved advertising, better experiences, Meta AI, AI-powered devices, and business messaging. There's a lot of opportunity ahead for Meta Platforms. It plans to spend a minimum of $64 billion on capital expenditures this year, up from $37 billion in 2024, to support the growth of the business.
Meta has a great track record of translating its capital spending plans into shareholder returns. The stock has delivered market-beating returns over the last decade primarily because the business earns high returns on its investments. Moreover, Zuckerberg suggested that the company will not need all of its investments to be successful for the stock to reward investors.
One opportunity for Meta that seems promising is business messaging, which is seeing tremendous usage in countries like Thailand, where the cost of labor is low. Zuckerberg believes that AI will lower the cost of using messaging-based business operations in larger economies like the U.S., opening up a huge revenue opportunity.
Thailand ranks as one of the company's top 11 markets by revenue, largely due to businesses relying on Meta's messaging apps, even though it has a relatively small economy.
The stock trades at a reasonable multiple of 23 times this year's expected earnings. Meta Platforms should continue to grow earnings at double-digit percentage rates annually given the opportunities ahead of it, and that could lead to market-beating returns.
2. Reddit
Another advertising-based platform that is seeing strong growth is Reddit (NYSE: RDDT). It ended the first quarter with 108 million daily active unique users, up 31% year over year.
Reddit's stock soared following its initial public offering in March 2024, and again later in the year. But it began to plunge in February, and is now down by more than 50% from its peak. And based on the strong first-quarter results the company reported on May 1, that decline has created a great buying opportunity.
The value that Reddit brings users on the web is driving strong demand from advertisers. Revenue surged 61% year over year last quarter, and the company converted those revenues into a healthy operating cash flow margin of 33%. This is the look of a promising growth investment.
Reddit is just tapping into its long-term potential. International ad revenue grew by 82% year over year in Q1 -- its highest growth rate in three years. There's massive upside for Reddit, as more than half of its users are outside the U.S., yet international markets only contribute 20% to the company's revenue.
Reddit should be successful as it is emerging as a primary destination for people looking for information on products they are shopping for. This high-purchase-intent user base is what makes the platform so appealing to advertisers.
Another factor that should drive more growth for the business is that Reddit's discussion threads are easy to discover on the web, not locked away within an app. This makes Reddit content easily discoverable by search engines.
Near-term uncertainties about the outlook for the U.S. economy could lead to more volatility for stocks of ad-based businesses. But long-term investors in Meta Platforms and Reddit should see the value of their investments grow over the next decade.

Market indexes took a wide-ranging tour throughout the trading day today, opening the session in the green and topping out ahead of the lunch hour (with the Dow up +400 points at that point) before dialing back in the afternoon. Then, in the final 10 minutes before the closing bell, indexes nose-dived into the close, though remained in the green.
The Dow added +83 points on the day, +0.21%, while the S&P 500 almost tripled this, percentage-wise: +35 points, +0.63%. That’s because the tech companies led the way, as seen by the Nasdaq’s strong +264-point gain today, +1.52%, and +11 points, +0.60%. Bond yields, which initially pointed lower this morning (helping investors believe rate cuts may be forthcoming) were back up on both the 10-year and 2-year offerings.
Big Quarterly Earnings Afternoon: AMZN, AAPL, RDDT & More
Q1 results for Amazon AMZN were released shortly after Thursday’s close, with solid beats on both top and bottom lines. Earnings of $1.59 per share was tidily ahead of the $1.35 consensus (and $1.13 per share reported in the year-ago quarter). Revenues of $155.67 billion beat estimates by more than a billion dollars, and more than $10 billion higher than the $143.3 billion reported a year ago.
Yet shares were selling off on the news, as investors began to compare Amazon’s AWS cloud business with that of Microsoft’s MSFT Azure, which stormed past estimates yesterday afternoon. AWS came in at a respectable +17% for the quarter, which was lower than the +17.6% estimates (and whisper-number, which was upwards of +20%). Operating Income outpaced expectations in the quarter; AMZN selling has cooled to just -2.5% at this hour.

Apple AAPL put up decent numbers in its fiscal Q2 release this Thursday, outpacing on earnings by 4 cents to $1.65 per share on $95.36 billion, which came in a billion dollars ahead of estimates. iPhone sales grew +2% year over year to 46.84 billion units, above expectations. Services grew +12% in the quarter, but this was basically in-line with consensus.
China share was -2% to $16 billion, but this was an improvement over expectations and quarters in the recent past. CEO Tim Cook, when speaking to CNBCX this afternoon, credited this with China’s “national subsidy program,” which is ongoing. Cook also felt that “pull-forward” demand was not significant in the quarter, meaning he expects future quarters to perform well, too. Shares are down -2.7% in late trading.
Airbnb ABNB was mixed in its Q1 results after today’s close, posting 24 cents per share which missed the Zacks consensus by a penny on $2.27 billion in revenues, which narrowly eked past the $2.26 billion expected. Next-quarter revenue guidance was in-line with earlier estimates, with Gross Book Value having grown +7% year over year. That said, the company said it was experiencing softness in U.S. travel, and shares are down -4% in the after-market.
Reddit RDDT notched strong outperformance in its Q1 report this afternoon, with earnings of $0.13 per share well past the $0.02 anticipated. Revenues came in $20 million ahead of projections to $392 million in the quarter, and the revenue guide for next quarter has been ratcheted higher. The stock had ben down -27% year to date, and is up +18% in today’s late session.
Cloud communications provider Twilio TWLO posted a strong earnings beat late Thursday, with $1.14 per share nicely beyond the 92 cents in the Zacks consensus. Revenues also surpassed expectations, albeit by a slimmer margin: $1.17 billion versus $1.14 billion expected. Next-quarter guidance is in-line with previous estimates on the bottom line, but are raised on the top. Shares are trading up +9% in post-session trading.
Meanwhile, point-of-sale solutions provider Block XYZ, formerly Square, missed on both top and bottom lines by wide margins after today’s closing bell. Earnings of 56 cents per share may not be directly comparable to the 88 cents in the Zacks consensus, based on newly calculated stock-based compensation. But revenues of $5.77 billion in the quarter missed the $6.18 billion by a fairly wide margin. The company also reduced guidance. Shares are down -12% at this hour.
