What this means for investors
After seeing its stock nearly halve from $12 to $6 since the start of June, drone-focused Ondas has rebounded nicely over the last week, announcing $70 million in new orders over the last four weeks. This figure is attention-grabbing because it shows a sharp rise from $40 million in June and $30 million in May, indicating an acceleration in growth.
Buoyed by this burgeoning order book, a backlog of over $450 million, and $1.4 billion in cash available for use with the company’s serial acquisition strategy, Ondas and its management believe it will generate $525 million in sales in 2026. Compared to the company’s market cap of $4.4 billion, this growth is an interesting story to monitor. That said, Ondas is relying heavily upon shareholder dilution to fund its voracious appetite for M&A -- shares outstanding have doubled over the last year -- so ONDS stock will remain a highly volatile, high-risk, high-reward proposition.

The reason: new weapons sales.

Ondas inks some contracts
Citing accelerating demand "across its autonomous defense and security platform," Ondas boasted today that it has secured $70 million worth of new orders over the past four weeks, for "unmanned ground systems, border security and protection technologies, counter-unmanned aircraft systems ("C-UAS"), intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance ("ISR") systems, and autonomous precision-strike capabilities."
Translated from Pentagon-ese, that means Ondas is selling ground robots, attack drones, surveillance equipment, and drone defense systems primarily.
Not all the orders are new. Ondas noted that it rolled a recently announced $6.9 million order for Ondas' C-UAS systems to Australia into the $70 million total. Still, it sounds like Ondas is having a pretty successful month of July.
What it means for Ondas stock
To put these $70 million in context, in all of Q2 2025 last year, Ondas booked a total of $6.3 million in sales. The orders just announced amount to 10x the volume of sales from a year ago -- with orders booked in just one-third of one quarter's time.
That's fast growth -- but do beware that growth at Ondas could be lumpy.
According to analysts who follow the stock, 2026 will probably be the first year Ondas books a GAAP profit, after a decade of losing money. That said, forecasts for next year see Ondas back in the red -- and losing money again in 2028.
Free cash flow at Ondas remains negative and is forecast to remain so in 2027 as well. It probably won't be till 2029 that Ondas is both profitable and generating consistent cash. Caveat investor.

Why Ondas Stock Popped Today

Ondas Inc. ONDS recently bolstered its growing defense portfolio with a $6.9 million order from Australia’s Department of Defense for its DTIM (Detect, Track, Identify and Mitigate) Single Operator Counter-sUAS Kits. The order, awarded through Australian defense distributor HIFraser, validates Ondas' expanding defense strategy following its acquisition of DZYNE Technologies and strengthens its foothold among allied defense customers. DZYNE's counter-drone business now operates under Ondas Sentinel, the company's dedicated U.S. defense division.
Ondas' portable DTIM Kits enable a single operator to detect, track, identify and neutralize hostile drones using AI-powered detection, long-range surveillance (more than 25 km), Remote ID/AeroScope tracking, the integrated Dronebuster (DB4) mitigation system, optional PNT attack capability and TAK integration. The compact all-in-one solution is well suited for military patrols, border security, special operations and other rapidly deployable defense missions. More than 3,000 Dronebuster units have already been fielded globally, providing Ondas with an important credibility advantage.
Countries across Europe, the Asia-Pacific and the Middle East are all investing heavily in counter-UAS technologies. In 2026, Ondas has secured several international defense deals that indicate increasing global demand for its autonomous systems. In February, ONDS’ subsidiary Airobotics secured a multi-phase defense contract with a government customer in the Asia-Pacific region, with initial deliveries starting in 2026 and follow-up orders expected as deployments expand. ONDS has also secured multi-million-dollar orders in Europe for its Iron Drone Raider counter-UAS system, which protects major airport infrastructure in a NATO country, as well as a $20 million autonomous border protection order involving AI-driven drone deployment and command-and-control systems.
Nonetheless, competition remains intense from larger defense contractors with established global customer relationships and broader product portfolios such as Draganfly DPRO and RTX Corporation RTX.
ONDS vs. the Defense Tech Competition
In May, DPRO and F4 Defense International secured an initial DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory contract to develop a modular, rapidly deployable counter-drone system that integrates tethered aerial platforms with drone detection, tracking, targeting and defeat capabilities for enhanced situational awareness and defense in contested environments. First-quarter revenue rose 49.4%, driven by a 44.8% increase in product sales. Quarterly sales were aided by strong demand from military customers, including an FPV drone order from the U.S. Army, reflecting its growing relationship with an existing defense customer. DPRO expanded its defense portfolio through the acquisition of Skip Dynamix's drone technology assets.
RTX is supported by a steady recovery in commercial aerospace, strong defense orders and a robust backlog. Heightened geopolitical tensions are leading to steadily increasing defense spending. RTX is strongly positioned in the missile and air-defense segment, which offers both short-term benefits and long-term gains. The ongoing tensions between Russia and Ukraine (and related rearmament efforts of NATO countries), between China and Taiwan (and related alliances in the South China Sea), and the war in the Middle East are leading to increased defense spending, creating significant opportunities. It won several notable defense contracts during the first quarter, which resulted in solid bookings of $14 billion and a record backlog of $271 billion.
ONDS’ Price Performance, Valuation and Estimates
In response to the announcement, ONDS’s stock went up 5.3% in trading yesterday. Shares of ONDS have declined 22.7% in the past month against the Zacks Wireless-National industry’s jump of 99.6%.

3 Drone Tech Stocks in Focus
Red Cat Holdings specializes in robotic hardware-software integration for applications for military and commercial uses. Teal Drones and FlightWave Aerospace are two of its wholly-owned affiliates. Its portfolio also includes Black Widow (small, unmanned aircraft systems), TRICHON (a hybrid VTOL) and FANG, an NDAA-compliant FPV drone. It recently introduced Hellcat, a dual-use small unmanned aircraft system based on the Black Widow platform.
On the lastearnings call management highlighted that the Defense Autonomous Warfare Group is expected to allocate $54 billion (which could reach as much as $74 billion) toward drones, drone dominance and counter-drone systems starting in 2027, with funding visibility beginning within months. Additionally, a $156 billion defense reconciliation bill for 2025 is now being rapidly deployed in 2026, with only $30 billion obligated as of April, implying a significant ramp in spending over the near term. This creates a powerful demand tailwind for RCAT’s portfolio.
Given these, the company expects $150-$180 million in annual revenues in the near to medium term. The gross margins are expected to approach 30% over time. Red Cat delivered $15.5 million in revenues in the first quarter, marking an 849% year-over-year increase.
Earlier this month, RCAT announced that Teal Drones has moved to Gauntlet II of the Drone Dominance Program.
RCAT’s expansion into USVs via Blue Ops adds a significant new revenue stream with an expected $150 million sales potential in 2026. It recently acquired Quaze Technologies Inc, which specializes in wireless power transfer technology for unmanned and autonomous systems. RCAT carries a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) at present.

RTX Corporation is a major aerospace and defense player and represents a more diversified way to enhance exposure to the drone technology space. The company delivers advanced systems and services for commercial, military, and government clients through its Collins Aerospace (Collins), Pratt & Whitney and Raytheon business segments.
Its exposure to the drone market is primarily driven by its strength in counter-drone systems. On the lastearnings call RTX emphasized that the current geopolitical landscape is driving increased demand for munitions, integrated air and missile defense technology, and advanced capabilities to deal with threats. Management highlighted the increasing demand for its Coyote counter-UAS system.
It has demonstrated a non-kinetic version of the Coyote, which reflects the industry’s shift toward more cost-effective and reusable systems. Unlike traditional interceptors, this version can complete a mission, return, be recharged, and redeployed, making it well-suited for sustained operations.
The company noted strong global interest, including a recently approved Coyote system deal with the UAE, underscoring the export potential of its C-UAS portfolio. RTX currently carries a Zacks Rank #2.
Ondas is rapidly scaling its Ondas Autonomous Systems (“OAS”) business, which has quickly become a multi-domain autonomy platform spanning ISR, C-UAS, loitering munitions/strike systems, unmanned ground vehicles and stratospheric sensing via World View acquisition.
The company has accomplished this broad portfolio through focused M&A activity. The company recently announced the acquisition of DZYNE Technologies for $875.8 million. DZYNE will expand ONDS’ reach across c-UAS, multi-domain ISR, precision strike and mission intelligence and autonomous systems. Both World View and DZYNE will operate within the company’s newly launched business division, Ondas Sentinel.
Following this development, Ondas now expects 2026 revenue to be at least $525 million from the previous forecast of $390 million. The increase also reflects contributions from Omnisys. DZYNE is expected to contribute approximately $191 million in revenue in 2026 and more than $300 million in 2027.
In June 2026, ONDS announced the $125 million acquisition of Cyberhawk, a provider of drone-based infrastructure inspection and AI-powered asset intelligence.
Beyond these acquisitions, the company had completed five acquisitions (World View, INDO Earth, Rotron Aerospace, Bird Aero and Mistral Inc) alone in the first quarter of 2026. In the past year, it has acquired Sentrycs, Apeiro Motion and Zickel, among others. Ondas now operates in more than 45 countries with over 1,000 employees globally.
However, extensive M&A amplifies risks, as so many acquisitions in such a short period can create integration overload and execution risks, as achieving targets depends on timely integration and conversion of backlog into revenues. ONDS carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) at present.

3 Drone Tech Stocks to Keep an Eye on as Adoption Picks Up Pace

The convergence of AI, autonomous drones, cloud software and critical infrastructure management is reshaping industries worldwide. In a strategic move, Ondas Inc. ONDS recently announced its planned $125 million acquisition of Cyberhawk, a top provider of drone-based infrastructure inspection and AI-powered asset intelligence. Management indicated that approximately 95% of the consideration will be in stock, reducing immediate cash needs while aligning Cyberhawk shareholders with Ondas' long-term performance. The acquisition also requires regulatory approvals before the expected closing in the third quarter of 2026.
The strategic value of the Cyberhawk acquisition lies in its complementary capabilities. Cyberhawk brings drone inspections, digital twins, cloud-based infrastructure management and AI analytics, while Ondas contributes autonomous aerial systems, mission automation and advanced sensing technologies. Together, they create an end-to-end infrastructure intelligence platform spanning data collection, cloud visualization, AI-driven analysis and predictive maintenance. This integrated ecosystem enhances customer value and opens multiple recurring revenue opportunities.
Cyberhawk enhances Ondas both financially and strategically. The company is projected to generate more than $45 million in revenue for the fiscal year ending March 2027, starting with high-single-digit EBITDA margins and aiming for EBITDA margins exceeding 25% by 2030. About 95% of Cyberhawk's revenue comes from recurring sources, including multi-year contracts, software subscriptions and long-term infrastructure inspection agreements. Recurring revenue improves predictability, reduces earnings volatility and often attracts higher valuation multiples than project-based businesses. Cyberhawk also has a $95 million backlog, offering visibility into future growth.
ONDS is on an acquisition spree. Last month, it agreed to acquire Omnisys, adding AI-powered battlefield orchestration software to its defense portfolio. This is followed by prior buyouts of Rotron Aerospace, Mistral Inc., Bird Aero, Indo-Earth and World View, strengthening its capabilities across loitering munitions, counter-missile defense systems, military engineering equipment and stratospheric surveillance solutions.
Are ONDS’ Rivals Also Betting on Acquisitions?
Draganfly DPRO recently completed the acquisition of Skip Dynamix, strengthening its defense drone portfolio and expanding its presence in the low-cost autonomous aerial systems market. The deal adds fixed-wing drone technology and enhances Draganfly’s AI, autonomy and military systems capabilities, while improving its positioning in U.S., NATO and Indo-Pacific defense programs. The acquisition adds the Orca fixed-wing drone to Draganfly’s portfolio, expanding its capabilities in long-range autonomous systems. It also broadens the company’s reach across defense and government markets, creates revenue growth opportunities and retains key fixed-wing drone expertise through the continued involvement of Skip Dynamix’s founders.
Last month, Unusual Machines UMAC agreed to acquire Upgrade Energy for approximately $52 million, adding battery and power system expertise to its drone components business. The deal expands the company’s product portfolio, strengthens domestic manufacturing capabilities, and supports future production growth through additional U.S. facilities. In 2025, UMAC completed the acquisition of Rotor Lab, adding high-performance drone motor and propulsion technologies to its portfolio. The deal strengthens its commercial and defense offerings, supports U.S. manufacturing expansion and enhances motor design and engineering capabilities. It also agreed to acquire Aloft Technologies for $14.5 million, adding leading drone fleet and airspace management capabilities to its portfolio.

Rapid growth and new contract wins
Ondas operates as a drone provider, but with a twist: its systems are entirely automated. These automated drones can be used for many purposes, such as routine system checks without a human operator. It is actually the first company to get full authorization to sell this type of drone system in the United States.
Last quarter, Ondas' revenue grew by more than 10x to $50 million, making it one of the fastest-growing companies in the world. This is mainly due to its many acquisitions in the defense space, including drone technologies, drone detection systems, artificial intelligence (AI) software, and even a stratospheric balloon company.
Ondas has financed these acquisitions with its soaring stock price, while also raising capital for its own balance sheet through equity raises. At the end of last quarter, it had $1.48 billion in cash and equivalents on the balance sheet.
Investors see this aggressive roll-up strategy as the best way to play the drone defense market, which is growing like gangbusters. Ondas is guiding to $390 million in revenue this year, a 670% increase from the previous year.
Time to buy Ondas stock?
The headline growth figures for Ondas will make you salivate. From an investor's perspective, we need to provide context on the total dilution incurred to finance these deals. Over the last 12 months, Ondas has generated $97 million in revenue, up 500% year-over-year. However, revenue per share -- which takes into account shareholder dilution from equity raises -- is up much less, at 97%. This is still solid growth, but nowhere near as explosive as its nominal figures would suggest.
What's more, Ondas trades at a market cap of $5.4 billion and a forward price-to-sales ratio (P/S) of 13.8, which is still expensive, especially given that Ondas is financing its growth through share issuance and is not profitable today. While the stock has been red hot in recent months, investors should stay away from Ondas stock for the time being.

Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ: PLTR) stock rose 13% in May, according to data provided by S&P Global Market Intelligence. Market sentiment turned positive for the artificial intelligence (AI) stock after a report that the U.S. government is going to invest in drone companies.
A government partner
Palantir isn't a drone company, but its products are heavily used by the defense industry and the U.S. government. It has specialized drone technology that's integrated into its platform, which is one element of its connected network of data sets, and its Defense Solutions are used by the U.S. Army, the U.S. Air Force, and the U.S. Navy. The company's Gotham platform creates a custom ontology, or map of different data sets, to unify them and help management make critical decisions, and it's used by defense agencies as well as intelligence and law enforcement.

It recently announced a partnership with Ondas, which automates and digitizes systems for the defense industry. One of its products is an autonomous drone system that is used for reconnaissance and surveillance.
At the end of May, The Wall Street Journal reported that the U.S. government was in talks with several drone companies about investing in them for the purpose of increasing domestic production and lowering costs. Some of the companies named include Performance Drone Works and Unusual Machines.
While the report didn't reference Palantir directly, investing in this industry could be beneficial for Palantir, which is highly connected to government drone use. The market sees this as a positive development for the company.
More than drones
The stock's jump was at the end of the month, masking the continued downward pressure on the stock for nearly the entire May, and Palantir stock is still down 14% year to date.
This is after the stock's stunning ascent over the past few years as one of the major names associated with AI. Palantir continues to demonstrate incredible growth, including an 85% increase in revenue in the 2026 first quarter and more than doubling of the U.S. business -- both accelerations. The U.S. commercial business is driving growth, up 133%, with a 112% increase in remaining deal value. Palantir is also highly profitable, with an adjusted operating margin of 60% and earnings per share of $0.34, up from $0.08 last year.
However, Palantir stock has been susceptible to falling due to its high valuation. It trades at 73 times forward, 1-year earnings even at the lower price.
At these levels, Palantir is still liable to fall further if it makes any missteps.

Game of Drones
The U.S. military wants to slash the cost of drones that are rapidly becoming an indispensable part of the modern battlefield.
To do so, the Trump Administration is seeking to provide growth capital to multiple U.S. drone makers -- via both debt financing and equity investments -- to strengthen their manufacturing networks and boost supply.
That's according to a report by The Wall Street Journal released late on Wednesday.
This initiative coincides with the Pentagon's Drone Dominance program, which seeks to mass-produce over 300,000 relatively inexpensive combat drones by the end of 2027.
The Journal cited a Defense Department's estimate from early 2025 that placed U.S. drone production at up to 100,000 drones annually. That's in stark contrast to the more than four million drones Ukraine reportedly made last year.
Ondas seeks to become a key drone infrastructure supplier
Ondas was not one of the companies specifically mentioned in The Journal's report. But as a leading provider of autonomous drones and counter-drone systems, the defense contractor does stand to benefit from the rapidly rising demand for these technologies among the U.S. military and its allies.
